Day 0 (Exposition Master Post)

My AU is a slight continuation of the story but also detours from it a bit. In my AU, some Infected are not hostile, but 99% of them are. Although some act docile in order to lure unsuspecting ponies in. I'll eventually make a post detailing my version of the stages from both bites and consumption of tainted goods.

Towards the end of the original creator's AU, they had Dash run away from an infected AJ, as they couldn't stomach the thought of killing them off. In my story, it happens as well, but not before Rainbow is bitten. They hide it, hoping they can be helped when they reach the city... But once they reach Canterlot, all hell breaks loose.

Dash wanders off from the group knowing that they're going to turn soon and ends up biting a nearby pony. And as the group realizes Dash is gone, they split up to search for her. Resulting in Zacora finding Dash infected, a corpse, and a bitten pony running away.

Little do they know, the infectious cookies are already being passed around the city like free candy.

The character we follow is an OC of mine. Their name is Monstro Pon. They are a bat pony that lives in the woods by themselves. But during an errand run, they fly over Canterlot right as the infection is taking over the city. They don't know what started it.

However, while flying over, they come across a pony that is running away from an infected, and they swoop down, killing the infected. And saving the earth pony who goes by Pumpkin Patch.
