I love it how in fantasy AUs, Sam is the most beautiful thing to exist, he’s some angelic deity adored in jewels and gold everywhere and his skin shines bright like the sun. You could write poetry about his beauty for years and it would not even come close to reality.
And then there’s Bucky who is some dude in tore clothing, has eyebags as heavy as his trauma and can’t tell wether the blood on his shirt is his or someone else’s.

“fake it till you make it” but it’s the trope where an antagonist is pretending to “be good”/“do good” to gain the trust of the protagonist but eventually the antagonist starts to actually like the protagonist as a person & adopt the good traits that they see in them
even better, when the antagonist has to admit that they were just trying to befriend/be nice to/help the protagonist for their own selfish gain, the antagonist tries to convince them that the protagonist changed them and that “they aren’t like that anymore” but the trust that the protagonist had in the antagonist has evidently been destroyed

I need more series recs where there's a character that is so bad at fighting and is a complete wimp and instead of learning to use a cool special weapon or training to fight, they're just given a gvn because that is actually the best and funniest thing I've ever seen. So far on the list I only have Nancy Wheeler from ST and Logan Fields from SBG, and I need more

"I can make him worse" *fixes him* is such an underused trope which should be illegal bc of how frickin funny it is. Like "let's give this fricked-up man more issues than he already has" but he develops morals instead

gonna just say this again bc of recent uptick in creddie haters (toxic seddie shippers) who don't seem to get it:
Carly was unable to be honest with herself about her feelings because at a very young age she was already given a lot of external pressure to understand them which can be a lot for a kid! For the most part, Freddie's crush on her was just amusing to her but everybody knew about it (even his mom "Why won't you love my son?!"). When they got a little bit older and she seriously started to consider "What if?", Sam (byway of Freddie, the person she started to have strong feelings for) told her her feelings weren't real (Take a moment to imagine being a kid and being told that?). Later a little thing called the internet piled on and told her she was in love with him. She was pulled in a lot of directions but one thing she knew and felt strongly about was that her friendship with Freddie was something she absolutely could not give up. Her actions throughout the years showed how valuable he was to her even when she herself wasn't aware why she was so strongly motivated. To make it even clearer for you, iCarly Revival S3E1's entire theme was relationships aren't about titles.
When Freddie told Carly, "No matter what awkward stage of Carly-Freddie-dom we're in, I'm always going to be there for you", the pressure to feel one way or another finally fell apart and she could be honest with herself about her feelings without the fear she'd lose him or that their dynamic would significantly change. (This fear even comes back up again and becomes clear to her when she had to confront the idea of acting on her feelings)
That's why after years of thinking about it and thinking about and thinking about it, Carly finally had easier access to those feelings and was able to give herself permission to love him.

You know what trope I LOVE!? when person A is assigned or required to take care of person B temporarily and then when time comes to pass them off at their safe destination they’re hesitant, not trusting anyone else to keep them as safe as they could. They have to let them go but think about them every second. Then when they go check on them because they just have this feeling, they end up being right and have to save them and stay with them again. Then all is good because they’re together but this time their bond is even deeper and they make an unspoken promise to stay together. All of their troubles moving forward are faced together, as a pair. Two against the world. God damn this trope goes so hard!

Zukka week 2023
Day 7: engagement & enemies to lovers (divorce)
Like I'm not forgetting "FLWOGB", neither Will be with "A Song of Ice and Fire" fic by @avatarthelastbackbender. The quote comes from "House of the dragon". Well, this ship it's SLOOOOW BURN , and the quote it's perfect.
Versión without the quote:

@zukkaweek
[ID : dark Background, read feathers or maybe from the weirdwood, or scales or flames... Depends from the perspective. Zuko and Sokka are the main focus, holding together. Sokka touches Zuko's necklace, and his right hand appears from the back of Zuko, with a dagger that threats the boy, it could seems blood at the tip. Sokka looks at Zuko's eye, very serious, conflicted. While Zuko, Who holds Sokka's wrist, and his other hand firebends. His gaze is sad, tender, because even if Sokka threats him and take a thread of blood, he feels something for the Stark. They are enemies for the Targaryen's actions, but that doesn't stop the feelings. Around them the quote from 'House of the Dragon' (Driftmark) from Rhaenyra Targaryen: "Always meant to burn together". END ID]

Something I find quite surprising about Pokémon is that with all their storytelling, we're partway through Gen 9 now and not once have we ever had a villain protagonist.
I'm not talking about us becoming the villain throughout the game, I mean more the main villain of the current game having been a previous player character. I feel like there'd be so much story potential for something like this.
For example;
Maybe Hilbert or Hilda took N's words a little too much to heart and start their own campaign to free Pokémon.
Maybe Elio or Selene got trapped in Ultra Space and went nuts from having to survive from various Ultra Beasts.
Maybe Gloria or Victor get a lot of hate from people from defeating Leon and couldn't take it anymore.
Heck, maybe Akari or Rei got trapped in Hisui for much longer than anticipated and felt abandoned by Arceus.
Seriously, there are so many ideas to take from this prompt, it's hard to list them all. Plus, it'll make older players emotional, because what if the villain they fight is their favourite, the one they grew up with? How would you handle fighting yourself?
