well no! i mean i understand why you feel that way, don’t get me wrong, but i think we need to stop acting like barbie got snubbed. it got nominated for 8 oscars! that’s a lot! while i do agree that we need to let more than one woman get nominated for directing at a time or just in general (and the most egregious example of that was actually the year greta got snubbed for little women if u ask me), who would you kick out of that category in exchange for her?

bc that’s a question i would like everyone crying misogyny to answer for me! the direction of barbie was probably the best thing about it and in another year i would for sure nominate greta, but who should she replace? yorgos lanthimos for poor things? jonathan glazer for the zone of interest? surely not justine triet for anatomy of a fall so then scorsese? for an astonishing late period film? or nolan for what is arguably the best work of his career? if we are gonna talk snubs then i would like to say celine song who directed past lives would have belonged in that category more than greta gerwig (i would have picked her over nolan and can expand on why if anyone is interested) and past lives only got two nominations which I think is a much more obvious snub.

and look, part of this response is because i don’t really think barbie is an oscar-worthy film. i thought it was a fun blockbuster that deserved production design and costuming noms but acting like it so obviously should’ve been nominated over the five excellent directors recognized is a bit silly, no? it’s not like there was a notable stinker in that line up

tf is up with the Elements of Creation?

The concept of the four elements have been around for a long ass time. Nowadays this concept is mostly used for various magic systems, popularized by "Avatar: The Last Airbender", but even after all this time the elements themselves are unchanged, being Earth, Air, Fire, and Water.

Then there's Ninjago, which for some reason decided to replace Air and Water with Lightning and Ice.

Obviously these are suppose to be cooler versions of the two elements. The 'Lightning Ninja' sounds much cooler than the 'Air Ninja' or the 'Wind Ninja' and the 'Ice Ninja' sounds cooler than the 'Water Ninja'. Lightning is heavily associated with strong winds and Ice is made up of frozen water, so this replacement generally still works.

Up until "Possession", which adds the Elements of Wind and Water to the world.

This begs the question, "what the fuck is the point of Lightning and Ice"? Out of universe, the obvious answer is they backpedaled and wanted Nya to officially become a Ninja with her own Element, while Morro was always intended to be a seasonal villain so it doesn't really matter what happens to the Element of Wind.

In universe, we didn't get an answer until 2021, a full six years after Possession was released. Even then, it was only a partial answer. Apparently, the Elements of Water and Wind belonged to Wojira, the evil sea serpent that resided in Ninjago before the First Spinjitzu Master arrived there.

I suppose my confusion mostly stems from the Ninjago Timeline (shocker... ):| ). When did the FSM obtain the Elements of Creation? Was it before of after Wojira obtained Wind and Water? If it was before, why choose Lightning and Ice instead of Wind and Water, which are much more useful when creating a new Realm? If it was after, did the FSM bring the Elements of Creation to this new Realm? Did the Elements of Creation just not exist the that Realm before he arrived there? There's just a lot of conflicting information and general confusion surrounding this topic that drives me absolutely insane, like how the essence of Storm is different from Lightning even though they are both able to create Lightning Bolts, but that's an entirely different can of worms that I might write about later.

In order to avoid sounding like a completely cynical asshole, allow me to propose an alternative idea for an in universe reason for why the things are why they are.

When the FSM first arrived in Ninjago, pretty much all the Elements were up for grabs as there was no one powerful enough take them for themselves. The exception was Wojira. She was powerful enough to obtain Elements for herself, but because she craved destruction and the only things that were alive in the Realm at the time were the Keepers and the Merlopians, she decided to only obtain Wind and Water to more easily destroy their homes. When she obtained these Elements, she discovered that they could strengthen each other into more powerful versions of themselves, and to more easily utilize this power the Storm and Wave Amulets were created.

In my head, the Amulets kinda work like the Golden Weapons, where anyone powerful enough can wield the Amulets and utilize their powers, but there are still dedicated Elemental Masters.

Then there was Nyad, the first Master of Water and the first Master of Wind was probably a Keeper or something, and them Wojira was put into a coma. After that, the FSM wanted to settle down in this Realm, so he set out to obtain various Elements like Wojira had done to help him cultivate the Realm.

First, to calm the seas and the storms that plagued the Realm, the FSM claimed Lightning. The Nunchucks of Lightning were created and used to cut through the violent winds and burn away the raging seawater.

Second, to provide a stable and sturdy place to live within the Realm, the FSM claimed Earth. The Scythe of Quakes was created and used to rise the land beneath the sea and harden it so it could not be moved.

Third, to provide heat and life to all that would reside in the Realm, the FSM claimed Fire. The Sword of Fire was created and used to place the sun in the sky and light the hearths of those that would live here.

Finally, to calm the Realm after it had been created and formed, the FSM claimed Ice. The Shurikens of Ice were created and used to stop the Lightning, cool the Earth, extinguish the Fire, and provide peace and tranquillity to those who needed it.

And that's how Ninjago was created or smth.

First off thank you so much for the answer it was a great read. My second question has to do with my biggest gripe with show, that is wu keeping secrets. He never learns his lesson with it from Moro to asphera and the one I hate the most,Kai and nya’s parents. He was Kai’s fathers best friend and he never tells them anything about their parents except fact that they were elemental masters. That secret helped with whole Chen thing and I’m honestly surprised that the two weren’t furious that he didn’t tell them anything. So does he or garmadon tell them anything, and if not how does fsm and garmadon react to that?

Fixing plot holes with this au

So Wu not telling people things is a thing that happens a lot in the show, and obviously the reason is that Ninjago didn't plan ahead with their seasons until Dragons Rising. But I believe that the in-universe reasons are a) he didn't these things were important or relevent (I mean the Aspheera incident happened when he was a child so 🤷‍♀️) and b) he's paranoid about over sharing which leads to under sharing.

The whole Morro incident didn't happen in this universe (see: this post) so we don't need to justify that (thank god).

So if we take all that into account it leaves two main issues. Wu not telling them about their parents and not training Nya as a water ninja from the start. So let's get into that.

In this au, the reason Wu didn't tell Nya about her powers is because Lloyd was born too late (this is also the reason tomorrow's tea happened, it was the universe course correcting). He was supposed to be born well before the venom kicked in fully, so he would be a teenager roughly the same age as his guardians when fighting the Overlord. Instead, he was born not long before the venom kicked in and Garmadon was banished to the Underworld.

This meant that by the time the four ninja were beginning their training, they were quickly running out of time. In an effort to insure the four ninja of the prophecy plus the green ninja got enough training Wu deliberately didn’t tell Nya that she had water powers so he would’t have to spend time teaching her instead of the others. Especially since he doesn’t know much about water as an element, since he, garmadon and FSM couldn’t use it. So he also wanted to wait for Nyad before he started anything beyond basic training with Nya.

But by the time the prophecy was over Nya had already made herself as Samurai X and Wu felt bad about potentially destroying it by telling her. It wasn’t until the Preeminent tried to take over Ninjago that Wu finally got the confidence up to tell her.

Garmadon does not approve of Wu’s decision to not tell Nya about her powers at all. He thinks the longer he leaves it the worse it will be when she finally does get told - and she does have to be told, the ocean does not like to be restrained. But he leaves it since Nya is primarily under Wu’s care. FSM agrees with Wu initial decision to not tell her in order to spend as much time training the the other five

And now the previous elemental masters, which I will admit, was harder to work out, but I love a good opportunity for world building and plot hole fixing! In season four Garmadon says the reason that the ninja didn't know about the other EMs was because they were made to feel special. I assume this decision was to motivate them when facing the Ultimate Evil^tm. However, that doesn't really explain why Wu and Garmadon didn't tell them post-defeating the Ultimate Evil^tm.

Wu told all all four og ninja that their powers came from the First Spinjitzu Master, and the thing is in canon, he's technically not lying, he's just missing out the part where they got passed down through generations of elemental masters. In this au, he really isn't lying. The FSM boosted the fours powers so they could protect Lloyd better - some of their powers are directly from them. But moving on...

Ray was Wu's best friend, so when he went missing and Wu didn't have his powers to track him down, he was devasted. I think in part Wu's decision to not tell Kai and Nya about their parents was because he was grieving them still, and grief makes people do strange things. Obviously this is a mistake, as, like you said, it leads to Kai nearly being manipulated by Chen.

Wu not telling Cole about Lily was in a mis-guided attempt to help him salvage his relationship with his father. He had originally assumed that Lou had told Cole but when it became apparent that he hadn't, Wu left it - he didn't want to damage Lou and Cole's relationship further by revealing something that Lou had kept secret.

For Jay and Libber, Wu was aware that Jay didn't know he was adopted, and it was this that partly influenced his decision to not tell any of the ninja about their parents as it would lead to some uncomfortable revelations with Jay.

For Zane and the previous elemental master of ice, it falls into the catagory of simply not relevent. Zane does not have any relation to him, though he does learn about him when the Ninja eventually get sat down and told everything about the previous generation.

And of course Wu (in this au at least) has a problem of forgetting to tell people things. He was under the impression that the ninja all knew about his and Garmadon's heritage and that they also knew the FSM was alive, but of course they didn't.

Garmadon does not like that Wu kept all this a secret, but as I mentioned before he doesn't want to over step his boundaries and tell them. And he also has the problem of forgetting to tell people things - it's hereditary. FSM also does not like that Wu and Garmadon elect to not tell the ninja about the other and previous EMs. They believe that the elemental masters of each generation should be at the very least aquaintances with each other (they're a little biased, the first EMs are as good as family to FSM). But the thing is, between seasons 3 and 5, FSM pays very little attention to Ninjago. They were planning to find Maya and Ray for Wu, Kai, and Nya post Final Battle, but well, they forgot. Immortals - especially FSM - can have very bad time management skills.

I genuinely need to know how Nya ate Nyad and also why

Okay so I’m going to be honest I don’t quite have a solid answer for this yet, I need to go back and rewatch some episodes + hammer it out but essentially it was because she was angry.

She didn’t get to merge with the sea with the kind of acceptance, or knowledge that she knew what she had to do and was ready. She just had to, and by that time she’d already lost Kai, Wu, Zane, and Cole. She was angry, and grieving, and had been for years. So when she became the sea she just felt like a storm, and was one. She felt like she was missing something, and Nyad was there. I say ‘eat’ but it’s more like a secondary merging, or absorption. But it felt like eating, and it made her feel less hungry. It made her stronger.

Becoming the sea for Nya felt like terror, and pain. And a loss of control, and she was hungry for it.

A common question that has plagued fans for a long time now is how and why Wojira passed the element of water onto Nyad, considering they were enemies at the time. Personally, I think there are two different yet equally possible answers here:

Someone once pointed out that in Wu's scroll depicting the Battle of Nine Days, Wojira's eyes are red - which would likely only be the case if she was being controlled (her eyes return to blue once Kalmaar's control is lifted). It could be possible that Wojira was once a far more benevolent being before some unknown force took control of her, and during that time Nyad inherited power from her.

In Bentho's story about the legend of Nyad, she is depicted as being struck by the Amulets upon touching them - perhaps this was what caused her to acquire that power. Yes, technically it looks more like she touched the Storm Amulet, whereas water is more closely aligned with the Wave Amulet. However, I think it's worth noting that the Storm Elements don't seem to operate strictly under the standard conditions of most others. In this case there seems to be some kind of overlap. Although the elements passed on from Wojira are water and wind, she also has dominion over lightning as well, with "Storm" encompassing both of the latter two. Which suggests that may be a degree of overlap between the elements of storm. If so, then it's still entirely plausible that being struck by the Amulets could have given her the elemental power of water (and perhaps this overlap also explains why Jay was able to command wind that one time in s1?? I dunno. That's a theory post for another day)

This is potentially corroborated by the fact that we don't see her wield the element of water until after this striking incident. Within the context of this particular animation sequence, her being struck and her becoming one with the sea are depicted within immediate proximity of each other.

If true, the second possibly would also resolve another big question involving Nyad and her element: that is, how the line of succession was able to progress even after she had become one with the sea. According to Nya, it was her power that kept her chained to the ocean, and by losing her power she severed her connection to it. By that logic, wouldn't the same be true for Nyad? If she's still connected to the sea, then logic should dictate that she should still be the master of water. But if her power left her and moved on to someone else, then she should have been restored just as Nya was in Crystalized.

But if we consider the idea that elemental power may be passed down through other means, it becomes possible that someone else may have acquired water the same way Nyad did, and that second person ended up passing the element down through the ages.

(But if that answer isn't satisfying, have another: according to the Overlord, elemental powers seem to possess some degree of semi-sentience, as they are able to "choose a new champion". Perhaps Nyad's elemental power left her to pick someone new, but at that point she'd been merged with the sea for so long that her spirit remained chained to it anyway.)

got involved in a war last night

so my dream started out that my mother said she wasn't feeling well, and so she went to her doctor. after she left, someone had invaded my home and I fought with them, and killed them, and when I did I found a certain long metallic whip like rope on their body and I realized that this person was a Flea Gnome assassin sent for me, so I summoned the Flea Gnome king, who appeared on my front porch flanked by 5 bodyguards, I presented the rope to him and asked if he knows who hired this assassin, before he could answer we were both attacked more assassins, we barely fought them off, just as someone drove my mother's car into the driveway, but she was gone, and this someone revealed himself to be the one who hired the assassins, a black ash dryad, a particularly powerful black ash dryad who was as strong as Puck, and getting rid of me, was a small step in his plan to overthrow Oberon the Flea Gnome king agreed with me that this cannot stand, and so he said he will return to his realm in order to personally forge some weapons for us to hunt this black ash down, but until he returns, he's leaving his bodyguards here with me. I send one bodyguard off to find my mother, and in the meantime I started casting protection spells on my house just in case of a pre-emptive attack, meanwhile more fae started showing up, a few pixies, nyads and salamandarin began helping me fortify my house and explained to me that word is spreading of the black ash, and fae are chosing sides, either with him, or with me, making me the leader in this upcoming battle. I had summoned my swords Lilly Cutter and the Fellblade and strapped them to my hip, when the Flea Gnome king returned and gave me my new weapon, a silver bow with blades on the arm tips, and he arrived just in time because the black ash returned with his new army and attacked, but the fae that had gathered on my side were ready and we counter attacked. we made my backyard, and the backyards of my neighbors into our battle field, I had cast spells on my neighbors houses so our battle was invisible and silent to them as it was the middle of the night so they slept through the whole thing. in the end we managed to drive off the black ash and his army although we did not kill him, so he's still out there

Ensuring the rights and opportunities of women and girls remains a big piece of the unfinished business of the twenty-first century. While there’s a lot of work to do, we know that throughout history and around the globe women have overcome the toughest resistance imaginable to win victories that have made progress possible for all of us. That is the achievement of each of the women in this book.

Karena di rules sudah ditulis maksimal 5 hari, jadi kita bakal tetep stick to the rules. Tapi, kalau memang seurgent itu, asalkan udah izin, akan dapat keringanan buat on semampunya aja selama 1-2 hari tambahan itu.

A. Apa ada batas minimal interaksi dengan anggota?

Untuk hal ini kalau masih dalam konteks Roleplayer tidak masalah ya. Yang kami maksud dilarang disini adalah sesuatu yang tidak ada kaitannya dengan roleplayer (ooc). Jadi untuk hal keperluan event, hype upchar itu tidak masalah.
