Sooo I ran across this cool concept art of an unused kwami design. And… well- I had to make some art.
It’s called Null, the kwami of nothingness, with an ambition to “Return the world back to nothingness”. I decided that the power it would have would be called “Void”, allowing its users to make any one thing disappear permanently. I figured Null would be the universe’s counterbalance to the kwami of reality, Gimmi.
I’ve seen some theories floating around that Null might be appearing in season 6, I feel like that could be pretty interesting, depending on how it’s handled.
Side note: making Marinette recognizable when you get rid of her bangs is harder than I thought it would be- hopefully y’all can tell it’s her, haha. The working name I have going for her is Lady Cipher

BRIDGETTE: SCARLET DANCER ERA
ML AU PT.3
When Bridgette was 16, she was given the ladybug miraculous from Sabine. Sabine told her she herself wasn't in the condition to wear it anymore, and that it was safer with Bri. Sabine didn't explicitly tell her daughter to take up the responsibilities of Ladybug, but began to be her mentor and train her when Bridgette expressed an interest to protect the city.
Deciding against keeping it a secret from Marinette, Bridgette confided in her little sister since they shared a room and Mari would get suspicious eventually. Tikki grew fond of both girls and stayed a member of the family- hanging out with the four at meals and other home family activities.
Felix was gifted the Black Cat miraculous from his mother Amelie, and kept it secret from everyone else in his extended family while she trained him.
Felix and Bridgette were partners, going by the names of "Tuxedo" and "Scarlet Dancer". No other miraculous holders joined them in their time, but the two helped out with crimes and helped everyday civilians out in this quiet peace.
Tuxedo was a more serious Chat Noir, and served as the reasonable and pragmatic one. He did have a sense of humor, and was often laughing when around the more joking and carefree Scarlet Dancer. The two had feelings for one another, Ladybug taking a liking to Chat first soon after meeting, and Chat beginning to grow fond of her after a while. They never told each other how they felt during this time.
Around a year and a half in of the current Ladybug and Chat Noir, Emilie's health declined, and she fell into a coma. This spurs Gabriel's reluctant transformation into Hawkmoth.
Hawkmoth sets an akuma in the beginning of the day to wander around itself in search of a vulnerable enough host, so he doesn't really know when an akuma attack will begin. (It's also his way of trying to lessen the guilt of subjecting innocents in this- but the guilt still hits hard).
Using the broken brooch alongside the overwhelming power from Null drains Gabriel very easily, causing him to grow gradually weaker the more he uses the miraculous.
As akuma attacks begin, Bridgette and Felix are in unfamiliar territory that even their mentors are unsure about.
Tikki teaches Bridgette how to purify akumas, and the more enemies they fight, the more Tikki notices similarities in their powers and mannerisms to that of old fae friends that she had known in eras past. Tikki concludes that these strange akumas are not just the work of the butterfly miraculous, but Null as well- and that he's the one fusing akumas with the powers and fae he's absorbed. Purifying the akuma causes the faerie's spirit to pass on.
There is no miraculous ladybug cure, but when a faerie's spirit passes on, its energy undos any physical damages the akuma itself caused to the city.
As the attacks seem to get more dangerous, Sabine pleads with her daughter to stop, but Bridgette refuses- knowing that she needs to save the city and be there for her partner.
This routine goes on for months, until an especially dangerous akuma comes into play. This battle lasts two days until Ladybug was able to purify the akuma- but not without a cost.
Felix's legs were badly hurt in the battle, and Bridgette hoped purifying the akuma would heal his wounds but it didn't. He asks her to take him to a specific alleyway, where Scarlet cries and apologizes and Tuxedo promises her they'll be okay. But he says that she has to go or else she'll see who he is, and convinces her to leave. When she's gone, he calls Amelie to pick him up and tells her what happens when she arrives.
When Bridgette comes home, she gives Tikki the earrings and tells the fae to find a more suitable holder. Tikki objects, but Bri is adamant that she has failed and let her partner get hurt. She refuses to take the earrings back, and only begins to cry again when Tikki has flown out the window with the earrings. Marinette comes home to her crying, and listens to what happened, and sits with Bri through the night.
Tikki, unsure of where to go and reluctant to leave the only family she's known for centuries, hides in the cluttered attic and ponders what to do.
Felix is hospitalized and is told that he is paralyzed in both of his legs from the injury. Realizing he can no longer be Chat Noir, Felix gives the ring to Adrien hours later when he comes to visit and asks him if he'd take on the responsibility- or at the very least return the ring back to Amelie at a later date if Adrien chooses not to. His young cousin talks with him and finally decides to keep the ring, introducing himself to Plagg and letting Felix and the faerie say a proper goodbye before he leaves.
When Gabriel learns of Felix's injury that is too close to Chat Noir's injury, he puts the two together and falls into a bad state. Refusing to send out more akumas because of what he's done to hurt his nephew, Gabriel calls off the deal with Null, telling him to release Nooroo and find another to do his bidding. But Null refuses.
From using the broken miraculous, Null's power, and emotional grief, Gabriel is extremely vulnerable. Using this as an opportunity, Null uses the powers of multiple faeries and takes control of Gabriel's body.
Null visits Felix in the hospital, looking out for the ring but sees nothing. Felix quickly suspects something is wrong with his uncle and calls Amelie when Null leaves.
Amelie, who is with Adrien at this time since he came right to her after his visit to Felix to see Amelie as his mentor, hangs up the call and asks her nephew if Gabriel has been acting differently recently. Adrien tells her about how he's been really tired, but he's always tried to spend time with him when he could like usual so he'd just been chalking it up to work.
Amelie knows there's more they don't know, but until they know exactly what- advises Adrien to be careful. Knowing well how to hide things from her own ex kingpin father growing up, she gives him pointers on how to hide Plagg and the ring well and sneak around. With promises to visit often and do his best, Adrien goes home, leaving Amelie worried for all members of her family.

Nullification.
In order to create Akuma, someone must be nullified- or, have their emotions and color completely drained from them. From there, the Akuma go and seek another host to infect and transform into a monster. Once the Akuma is defeated, the emotions return to the Nullified- which is deeply shocking and often painful as they are forced to feel everything all at once.
There is no purification ritual, and they simply need to be defeated. Not all Akuma must be defeated physically- some may be dispersed by solving a problem- often related to the emotion that corrupts the victim. The death of a nullified person will disperse the Akuma. This is an extreme scenario that the heroes never take, but the villains may use if the Akuma get too far out of hand. The posessed, however, is spared.
Nullified aren't completely emotionless, and are often left with just enough trace emotion to function at bare minimum- stick to routine, care for oneself. After all, emotions like shame and fear keep us together.
Null, the fae of Nothingness, is able to offer a contract that grants a user the ability. Adoni Duther is Null's current contract holder- who ends up using this ability to assist Richard Sphinx with his goal to free Null from it's imprisonment and end the world. She also makes use of this ability at his request, as he desires to stop feeling emotions as grief over his lost wife- and eventually escape guilt that had been built from his criminal activities
However, in a final bid for power, Adoni makes full use of the ability to truely strip Richard Sphinx of all emotion, resulting in an incredibly powerful Akuma that essentially leaves him brain dead- even after it's defeated.
-
an exploration on how Adoni's powers could work and how they may be used in a meaningful way

the transition into 3d and the current story made classic marinette lose her, marinette-ness.
she used to have this really charming “dorky girl next door” kinda vibe.
but marinette now is like, conventionally attractive to the max until it’s straight up bland. her personality does not show through her character design at all.
like for example, classic marinette has more hair strands sticking out (ditziness) and big round eyes (innocence). but canon marinette? idk she’s just the default character model settings.
so now even the 2d art of canon marinette doesn’t have life. if you know what i mean.
yet another reason why i dislike canon marinette.

I just want to talk about how absolutely emotionally DONE MariBug is.
Like, I'm not saying that she doesn't feel any emotions throughout the special. Clearly, she does.
But the way she handled the entire ordeal, calmly and with a level-head... I don't think it was just a show of being strong. I truly think that it was a breaking point for her. She could do nothing other than be calm, because something broke in her and she just became utterly numb. This girl has been THROUGH IT. (They both have)
But Marinette is done crying. She's done panicking. The worst possible outcome has already come to pass, so what's left but to pick up the pieces? And I don't think it's by choice. Sure, she's acting strong to get through it all. But at this point, I don't think she's truly capable of much else.
The weight on her shoulders has never been heavier. It was already too much for her, long before we got to this point. She's being completely crushed and it's like she's on auto-pilot just so she makes it out alive.
It's not until a true distraction comes her way that we see her come to life a little bit. The wish, Bunnyx, the whole time travel situation is exactly the distraction she needs to be able to snap out of that null, hollow, painful void. A task. A problem to solve. Something to take her mind off of the what she can't fix, and focus on something she can. Something she must fix.
I love her to bits and this girl just... deserves a break. a rest. A very long holiday. And she's so strong. SO STRONG. Like really, what 14/15 year old girl wouldn't completely dissolve under that kind of pressure?
(Okay and just for the added insult, I just wanna throw in here the old phrase "Pressure makes Diamonds" because I think that really parallels the whole 'Lila is a stone" thing.)

One of the things I dislike most about fandoms is the hypocrisy of their fans. And this is about ships again, yes (it's about characters too ngl).
Every anti-Bakudeku/Catradora fan says things like "How can you ship couples like these? It's so abusive! It's disgusting! Catra/Bakugo were so mean towards Adora/Izuku! Catradora/Bakudeku is so toxic and you shouldn't like it!" and then, when talking about Hiccstrid people always love them together. Even if Astrid was also a bully to Hiccup. Even if her development was null (don't say she had development, her "redemption" arc was shit and she needed more time in screen and more scenes between her and Hiccup to change from "I hate all the dragons" to "I was wrong about them". And one scene with an OST called "Romantic Flight" is not enough to make her redemption believable). Talking about development, do I really have to say that you hate Catradora/Bakudeku, but at least Catra and Bakugo apologized to Adora and Izuku? Astrid didn't say sorry to Hiccup for bullying him/hurting him. And you should be aware of that.
Bakugo and Catra didn't redeem in one day, they didn't get up one day and decided to be nicer. No, they had to work in their redemption and they also had to work in their relationship with the people they hurt (Izuku and Adora). Astrid didn't do that. All she needed to change was flying in a dragon with the person she used to hate.
Having all of that in mind, tell me, which relationship would be more healthy, logical and believable? The ones where the bully had to work hard to make amends for their mistakes, to heal their scars to make it better for the MC? The ones where the bully apologized to their victim, to the people they hurt? Or the one where all it took to change from "I hate you so much" to "I like you" was one scene, and they didn't even apologize for being a bully/being a bad person? Think about that.
And think about another thing too. A girl hurting a boy is bad. "But she-" No. "But she's not being cruel and she-" Enough. Don't fucking justify female-on-male violence. Violence is violence. If you hate Bakugo/Catra so much for hurting Izuku/Adora, then treat Astrid the same way, because she was not an angel before changing. She's not innocent. She was a bully too. And if you despise Bakugo/Catra's past actions, despise Astrid's past actions too.
Where I also saw Double Standard in media is in shows where there's a female character stalking a male character. Two examples that come to my mind right now are Hinata Hyuga from Naruto and Marinette Dupain-Cheng from Miraculous Ladybug.
The thing about them is that a lot of people love them. A lot of people love a female character stalking a male character. Dear God, Marinette learned the daily schedule of Adrien, and she even traveled to another country for him. Because she couldn't bear thinking he was in another country where she couldn't see what was he doing. That's not freaking normal, you guys. "She was a girl" "She didn't know what was she doing" "She's just in love". Excuse me- What. the. hell. Okay. So you're saying you're okay with a girl being so jealous that everytime her "crush" talks to a girl she needs to be around. You're okay with a girl entering her crush's house without permission (Do you know that's a crime, right?). You're okay with a girl having her bedroom full of photos of her crush (and I'm not talking about a fictional character from a show she likes. I'm talking about a real person. Because in Miraculous Ladybug's world, Adrien is Marinette's classmate, not a character from a show). I'm sorry, but if you think that's okay, there's something wrong with you. People can like someone and have a crush, sure, but what she has is an obsession. What she's doing is not normal. (And she can do that in the show, after all she's a character, but don't act like she's a nice person and an innocent person because she isn't. And definitely don't see her actions as a normal thing).
People, please, don't think what she's doing is "iconic" or something like that. If you're watching this show, please, don't do the same as her with your crush because is awful and disgusting. She's not "cute" for doing this. She has a problem, I'm being serious.
If she had a better love story with Adrien, like she did in the movie, I would understand the Adrinette ship because in the new movie it's just beautiful and wholesome and it's actually healthy. But when it comes to the show, the Adrinette ship can't be nothing more than toxic. So stop acting like Marinette's actions towards Adrien are okay (Yes, Adrien's actions towards Ladybug weren't okay neither, but this post is about female characters).
What Hinata Hyuga did -in comparison with Marinette- is not that bad, but even then, following her crush (Naruto Uzumaki) everytime he's with his friends/classmates is not nice. It's not cute. It's not something people should do. And the Naruhina ship honestly makes no sense. Okay, I get it. It's the type of romance we all want to have. We all want our crush to fall in love with us. We all want to have a relationship with the person we used to have a crush on. But if you want to include that trope if your story, if you want them to end up together in a show/book/movie, give them development. The ship has to feel natural.
We have to feel/see the chemitry. And I saw (and still see) no chemistry between Naruto and Hinata. Sasunaru, on the other hand, has a lot of emotional moments together and moments when they bond (their chemistry is right there). And it's not for my own preference, but they would have made a better couple. Mostly because they shared more screen time with each other. Even though Shikanaru and Gaanaru are also good options for a canon ship. Because they also had chemistry. But Naruto's love for Hinata in my opinion didn't feel natural. It was forced.
After all of this, let me say something more. You probably don't care about a girl stalking a boy in fiction. You're probably like "She's not doing anything wrong" "She's a teenager" "Stop being judgmental, she's a good character" "She's a nice person". If what they do it's okay for you, let me ask you a question. What if their gender was reversed? Yeah. Imagine if Marinette and Hinata weren't girls. Imagine if they were boys. Imagine if a boy went to another country to control the actions of another girl. Imagine if a boy entered his crush's house without permission. Imagine if a boy stalked the girl he likes to see if she's talking to another boys. Imagine if a boy had pictures of the girl he likes in his bedroom. What would you think then? Oh- You would think it's disgusting? It would be disgusting for you, right? Why? Because it's a boy?
People, have this in mind:
👏👏👏 If a boy does something bad and a girl does the same thing they both need to be treated the same way 👏👏👏
A girl hitting a boy isn't funny. It shouldn't be played for fun. As well as a boy hitting a girl. Neither of them is funny. And neither of them can be justified.
A girl stalking a boy isn't funny. As well as a boy stalking a girl. Neither of them is funny. And neither of them can be justified.
That's why I ask you to stop being two-faced. If you despise someone's actions, you despise someone's actions, whether it is a boy or a girl. You want equality? Then fucking stop with the double standard.
A bad action is a bad action, no matter who makes it. Period.

I Beg To Differ.
Okay, now just because I'm about to embark on an epic rant does NOT mean I think anything bad about you as a person, OP. It's just on this one teensie-weensie most minor of points, I happen to think you're 100% wrong. Just thought I'd clarify that, so no offense intended. Anyway, on with the show...
Nah, they did us SO dirty with Chloe. I hear your above argument a lot, and it WOULD be a fair point… if it wasn't for the fact that there are SO many clear signs this wasn't what was intended from the beginning that it makes your reasoning completely null and void. Chloe's 'arc' was the most blatant case of in-show character assassination I've ever had the displeasure of witnessing, and I'm about to explain why. Read on! (If you want to, that is.... no pressure).
They strung us along for at least three seasons with various hints about her 'traumatic past', her problems with her often absent mother (which Marinette didn't help by encouraging them to bond because 'they're both such awful people'), showed her genuinely apologizing to her victims, protecting Sabrina from akumatization and having times when she treated her as a real friend, sacrificing herself to save the day occasionally, hugging Miss Bustier in a moment of genuine emotion, telling Ladybug how 'useless' she felt in a teary rooftop encounter, saving lives both as a superhero and a civilian (check back if you don't believe me), giving Adrien a moving speech on his phone about how 'she'd always be there for him', sharing a really close bond with her father, telling her butler Jean it was time she started doing things for herself, loving Mr Cuddly, adoring Pollen… I could go on. Not the best person in the world, true.... but a promising start. Green shoots, and all that. Her name literally means that.
S4 simply forgot any of this happened, and literally pushed her burgeoning development off a cliff with Sisyphu's boulder tied to it's big toe. There was NO build-up, NO foreshadowing, NO precedent for Chloe suddenly becoming a one-dimensional total-sociopath irredeemable-monster AT ALL, they simply made her that way on a whim. They had her start acting like a complete psycho for the evilz, made her the most stupid person in the show BY FAR, severed ALL of her few close relationships, wrote AN ENTIRE FLASHBACK EPISODE in incrimate her newfound nastiness even more and 'punished' her by sending her off exiled on a plane in tears with her abusive mother to… what else? Get abused, of course. GREAT MESSAGE TO ALL THE VULNERABLE TEENAGE GIRLS OUT THERE. (I won't even get into how utterly useless and blandly boring her 'replacement' of a plot device Mary S... oops, I mean Zoe is).
And we're supposed to believe the former corrupt mayor Andre, the terrorist Gabriel Agreste and Thomas Astruc (you know him) are the GOOD guys here? Well, I'd like to tell you what I'd like to do to them… but for fear of censorship, I'd better withhold that particular information for now.
The upshot of it is… if Chloe had been bad from the beginning and terrible at the end, I'd have accepted it. Heck, if her so-called damnation arc was even halfway well written and gave us an accurate and compelling look at the moral descent a person who's capable of redemption could take to the light but ultimately chose to stay on the Dark Side, this would've been highly disappointing to me but fine from a storytelling perspective.
But they didn't give us anything like that, did they? It was just… 'pretend the last three seasons never happened, develop amnesia, hit yourself repeatedly on the head with a shovel… we don't care. Just accept this is the NEW Chloe without question despite past evidence, because you won't be getting any answers. Now let's go back to what we're REALLY here for… Marichat, Ladynoire, Adrinette and that other stupid ship name. SWOON!'
Thanks, but no thanks. Did I ever tell you how much I HATE this stupid show? Apologies if I didn't make that clear enough.

I find it fascinating that we don't know a single thing about ""Lila"" except that she jumps from one identity to another and is in possession of the butterfly miraculous.
Every single thing we thought we knew about her, we actually don't. We don't know her name. We don't know her family history nor who her family is or if she even has any. We don't know her motives - we thought at first it had to do with Ladybug humiliating her or an "absent mother" but clearly that isn't it. We don't know her origins. We don't even know if she's from this timeline or not. She seemed to know of the miraculous before she was introduced to us; did she come to Paris specifically because they reappeared? We don't know.
It's scary for our heroes that she has plenty of identities, because every lead they'll have on her will be null the moment she gets a new identity. They can uncover her as Cerise and she'll escape as Iris or Prune or Marguerite and they'll be back to square one.
We as the audience thought the classmates were stupid (affectionate) for not seeing her lies, but we've been fooled right along with everyone, including Marinette.
I can't wait to know more about her because suddenly she became a whole lot more interesting than just a petty humiliated classmate wanting to get revenge
#recreation#revelation#lila#the fact that everything we thought we knew about her was wrong is so interesting to me

(Ask ran past the word count, plus tablet is having issues)
I think my favourite variety of “Marinette finally tells Adrien” fic, is. Like. I don’t remember the name, but after everything has gone down, Marinette has some time for introspection, the chance to reevaluate some things. Ya know, now that she isn’t dealing with *gestures to all of that*. After a bit of time (and a lot of guilt) she finally decides “Actually, no. Lying to Adrien about all this shit is wrong, it’s immoral, if I want to have ANY kind of relationship with him, I need to come clean.” So she tries to do that … and can’t, cause Gabe was not trusting, and also excels at fucking things up without even being present, so his Wish means when Marinette agreed to not tell Adrien any of this stuff, she basically signed a magic contract that PHYSICALLY PREVENTS HER from telling him. It also prevents her from telling him anything that could explicitly lead to Adrien figuring it out on his own, which means that, because the “terms” were so broad, & so much of Marinette’s shit has gotten tangled up in the whole … Thing, that she can’t even tell him a lot of adjacent stuff, like “Hey, I think I might have issues with feeling in control”, or, “so, this one time, before we started dating, I stole your phone cause I left an embarrassing voice mail about how hot I thought you were, and I decided stealing your phone and deleting the message was appropriate”.
And, like, she tries some other stuff! But this thing really has a strangle hold on her, so it’s basically no going until she has a total breakdown, and confesses most of this to Chat Noir - not the whole, cause she can’t, but the outline of what happened, cause as long as she isn’t trying to tell Adrien, she can sort of talk around it. Cause they STILL don’t know each other’s identities. And because Magic is finicky and trollish, the fact that “Ladybug” is talking about it with “Chat Noir” apparently doesn’t set it off. And she says just enough that Chat goes “wait, this sounds familiar”, and asks some questions. And the more questions he asks, the weirdly easier it is for Marinette to talk about, until finally Chat bursts out “MY DAD WAS FUCKING HAWK MOTH!?” and the magic contract thing breaks down entirely, cause once Adrien knows, the contract is null and void.
There was a bit more after that, but that’s the only bit I remember.
-
See I really like that! Like
I’ve talked before on how I can initially see Marinette making that snap decision of ‘don’t tell him lie to protect him’.
But I don’t think she’d keep it going once she thinks about it too long and/or the guilt gets to her.
Having the Wish be an aspect to extend the drama is a fantastic way to do this in a way that doesn’t make Mari look like An Asshole™

My biggest peeves were:
Literally the same story as the 3D show except it's Felix and/or the quantic kids. Nothing changes. Felix is a model. Gabriel is his dad. Marinette is Dupain Cheng. Alya is The lady blogger and not an intrepid school reporter. Nino Is here. And I'm not saying it's a reinterpretation, I'm saying it's a one-to-one story beat to story beat retelling.
Bonus points if they just shove gdv into the story and pretend that it's precanon Felix. They even leave Adrian as chat noir. I know you think you can get away with it because You're calling him culpa, but I know. I know better. Even if nobody else cares.
You know what the story needs? More Adrian. Not that much Adrian, just about 2 cubic tons. If I wanted to read a 20 chapter fic about Adrian's struggles I would just read a Canon fic. He is just so unnecessarily jammed into every little nook and cranny. Go away you little parasite.
Bridgette is the mind killer. It's less about the name change and more about the principles behind it. Every single felibri felinette story I have ever stumbled upon has just been anime tropes. I know the pv didn't have a lot of meat on it, but the art book was still out and there were translations and we had art of null and Richard and concept storyboards. It's not like it wasn't out there. And I know they knew about it because they add the quantic kids every single fucking time.
Ring curse. And you don't even give ladybug an earring curse to match. Fucking cowards.

Did you watch Season 5 of Miraculous? What did you think of it?
I stopped watching Miraculous at s3, I didn't watch s4 or s5, but I've heard a bit about it. Technically can't really give an opinion but I can share what I think based on what I heard.
I heard Adrienette dating was not too bad, but should've been much sooner. I agree. Could've saved us a bunch of trouble and salt. I also heard that they had the most powerful kiss that adults literally could not tear them apart XD that was funny to hear.
I got to learn that melting Miraculous down doesn't count as destroying them so, who's going to tell Frodo the one ring actually isn't destroyed as apparently melting doesn't count as destroying. Who knew?
And I got to learn that Gabriel was able to make the wish, getting what he ultimately wanted terrorizing all of Paris for 5 seasons, is remembered as a hero, and Adrien never learns about it which is all a really big wth. From what I've seen, no one was happy about that.
Uuuuh... I heard Lila got exposed, but it was meh. I heard she now goes by Cerise? Which ok, let's just make this confusing character even more confusing. Also, how much you want to bet that Cerise/Lila will join them in high school, and there's a repeat of Marinette knowing that's Lila who is lying to them but no one believes her and thinks Cerise is someone entirely new.
Ummmmmmm... oh, I heard Feligami is now a thing? Very rushed and kinda creepy/weird? But I guess they did a decent job as I do see the occasional fanart for them. Personally, I'll just stick to Kagami with girls. That moment in Riptose stuck with me waaaay to much to really get behind her being more interested in boys. I will say, Adrigami did have some nice moments, and there's concepts there where I think they can work nicely off each other (Adrien needs to learn to grow a backbone while Kagami wants to rebel and make friends, they can help each other with that), so Adrien could be the only guy I could roll with for her, but still prefer her paired with girls more.
Also I guess Felix is now a hero despite stealing the yo-yo from Ladybug and handing off... 14 Miraculous to Gabriel. And presumably making him more dangerous/difficult, though he is an idiot so I don't know how much more challenging he got. As far as I know, it was pretty much like another Tuesday.
Oh and apparently there will now be 18 heroes in Paris as I got to learn through asks. I wonder how that's going to work, if at all. Place your bets on how often we'll even see those full time heroes, as they can't really take much attention away from Marinette and Adrien, but who knows. S6 is in that weird placement now that Thomas is no longer apart of the development of ML, so it's hard to say how different it'll go.
Oh. I don't like Tikki and Plagg's true forms. Kinda Digimon over complicated design, and biblical in aesthetic which I found weird when they're supposed to be tied to Taoism. I have yet to find anything similar to biblical angels in Toaism, so I feel like this design choice works off a Christian view more (which isn't surprising as Plagg works off the unlucky black cat, which is exclusively from Christian Europe roughly 400 years ago).
Additionally, Gimmi felt like more of a Nooroo true form, than a fusion of Plagg and Tikki. I think they should've brought the concept of Null back. I think they were a better thought of a fusion of Creation and Destruction as these two concepts brought together would just nullify each other.
So over all, based on what I've heard, it's a pretty negative view of s5.

Ya know, something that I think makes the Bee Miraculous situation feel kind of extra messy is that even after resolving not to use Chloe, Marinette still would if she deemed it necessary.
That is to say, she'd not only long since resolved not to let Chloe be Queen Bee again in Miraculer, but had that very episode committed to telling her that fact.
Yet when push came to shove she was still fine shoving a Miraculous in her hand, or having Chat do it, and sending her after Mayura, but then telling her she can't be Queen Bee.
This is also right after its been made clear that even after seemingly a couple of months of no use, Chloe was still being watched and actively targeted.
I'm not blaming Marinette for screwing up, but it very much does play into how unfair the situation feels I think.
Oh yeah l the narrative was a mess. It's part of the whole 'episodic' nature, but also their reaction to it.
Many episodic shows commit to the bit but also pay attention to the overarching narrative while writing the episodes. So rewatches or binges can still get a healthy story unfolding.
ML doesn't really respect the narrative on an episodic basis. It will twist whatever for an episode, and we're just supposed to parse the latest version as 'correct'. All previous moments are null unless specifically addressed and only in the episode they are addressed.
It's.... A choice

BEFORE CANON:
ML INHERITANCE AU: PT.1
In this AU, I really wanted to go for the world and vibes that were built in season 1-2, the concept art, and the ladybug PV, as well as the setting being changed to the early 2000s. Having Marinette’s life seem like a happy fashion game of the 2000s with a superhero secret was just such a fun concept to explore!
And all references for the concept art is from the artbook wiki*, so big thank you to all that have contributed to that archive!
Miraculous are handed down from the holder to a trusted next instead of a guardian. Kwamis are called faeries, and were created as the embodiments of emotions and ideals that have worked alongside humans for ages. Fae in the past have never been bound to a certain accessory to transform. If the humans had bonded with a faerie, they would just utilize any jewelry on their holder as a miraculous.
There’s different kinds of fae that have existed in the world, but the ones in the story are listed below.
The Ladybug fae represent luck and creation
The Black Cat fae represent destruction and rebirth
The Bee fae represent justice
The Fox fae represent truth
The Turtle fae represent wisdom
The Butterfly fae represent communication
There are multiple fae of a kind (so multiple ladybugs and black cats have existed in the past in different regions, and it is entirely possible for past ladybugs to have existed in the same time in different places for this reason) and used to be plentiful, but the number of fae have decreased dramatically because of the faerie Null.
There is only one faerie of Null, and he was an anomaly amongst the fae. He had no powers himself, but he had the ability to absorb other faeries and steal their energy and powers, becoming stronger himself this way. He seeks to destroy the rest of the fae; wishing to see humans lose sight of the ideals and emotions they stand for- ultimately losing themselves and becoming their own undoing and leading to their demise. Their destruction would lead to Null’s ideal empty world.
Over the centuries, Null had instigated problems to prompt out fae and their holders. After drawing them out and defeating them, he would steal their powers. Null also has the ability to share these powers he’s accumulated but has lacked control with this skill; causing him to scarcely use it in the past.
In a battle centuries ago, Tikki, Plagg, Trixx, Wayzz, Pollen, and Nooroo had faced Null. Null’s final attack had bound the six to the jewelry they were in, forcing them to stay close to the miraculous and limiting the amount of power their holders had access to.
Null was nowhere to be found after his final attack, and the now confined faeries entrusted their new miraculous to the holders while they slept inside of them to regain their strength.
