Like I love the double standard there, the Potters, Sirius Black, Remus Lupin and the Weasley´s somehow are so virtous, they "love muggles" you would not believe it" but they pretty much keep themselves on all magical neighboorhoods. Yes, including Lily who was a child of muggles.

While Severus keep living on his old house in his muggle neighboorhod but somehow he is the "hateful" one. Curious fact at the time Severus was a kid there were some serial killers attacking people at the place he lived and he didn´t change house or moved to another place even as an adult when he had the means to do so.

Fans need to learn the difference between liking something because they see it as a "curious thing" to know with a condescending attitude and for a lack of a better word a kind of "white savior complex" while keeping their distance and someone fully inmersed in the culture at the point they are part of it and have a nuanced understanding of it.

The world's double standards towards Gaza are utterly repulsive!

- An Israeli child is killed, and the world uproars, yet over 10,000 Palestinian children are killed, and there's deafening silence!

- Israel mistakenly executes three of its soldiers, and the world demands an immediate investigation. Meanwhile, the same army executes dozens of Palestinians daily without a word from this unjust world!

- Hamas has dozens of captives, mostly soldiers, and the world everyday demands their release. Yet thousands of Palestinians have been imprisoned for years, and there are no calls.

- The world supplies Israel with hundreds of weapon trucks while denying entry for water and milk to Gaza, letting two million Palestinians suffer in silence!

- Israel kills two Palestinian Christian women in a church, and call for investigations pour in from Washington and Europe. Conversely, Israel destroys dozens of mosques with worshippers inside and burns hospitals, and Europe remains silent!

This is a brutal, unjust world devoid of values and principles. I am ashamed to speak of the illusion of human rights !

Silent Hill 2 is the greatest game I don't think I can unconditionally recommend to people. Because it is amazing, but its also about trauma, guilt, abuse (of adults and children) and how unhealed, festering harm perpetuates itself onto innocent bystanders. A play-through of it is a rough ride emotionally.

And this isn't a surprise to anyone who follows these conversations, I think it's worth talking about because certain events globally have emboldened these types (who always seem to be gulible enough to pay for a blue tick on X nee Twitter) - leading to them trying to shout out all other conversation on the medium. We are, in fact, at the point where they're admitting they are Nazis who don't play games.

Truly we have never had more confirmation that the people who aggressively campaign for a standard of cartoonishly over-sexualized as the baseline for female characters do so not out of a love of gaming, but rather because of overwhelming indifference to a medium they don't participate in.

@verilybitchie has recently just released an essay that focuses initially on disappointment with current trans, particularly non-binary, options in games, but also covers how we got there in terms of certain genres of games having been historically unwilling to to let go the male gaze.

This, of course, is not an excuse for the self-identifying Nazis etc, but goes a long way in explaining why your more normal friends might have a confused reaction, and highlights the kinds of issues in the industry that are still unaddressed.

But show me ANY other country on earth with a questionable government and a less than stellar human rights record where their civilians are subjected to anywhere near the level of hatred and abject dehumanisation as Israeli people are.

Face it, Darth Vader, Zuko, Piccolo, Vegeta, Magneto, Loki and Venom did far worse, unforgivable things yet when they were redeemed to varying degrees, fandom gave them free passes. Yet when Catra ,a child soldier who was physically and mentally abused by her mentor, realizes how much she has hurt the people around her; strives to be a better person; saves her childhood best friend and the entire world with the literal power of love (in spite of the series being cut short), fandom screams for her blood, yelling that she was "the real villain" and "should've died".
