Since I spent like an hour on friday going through my copy of iwtv (1977 first Ballantine Books Edition) so here's where every episode title is said in the book.
possible spoilers for the show; definitely spoilers for the nearly 50 year old book.
S1E1 "In throes of increasing wonder" page 13, Louis only every directly says the words "increasing wonder" ("From then on I experienced only increasing wonder") about his first meeting with Lestat
S1E2 "...after the phantoms of your former self" page 81-82, said by Lestat ("You are in love with your mortal nature! You chase after the phantoms of your former self!") when they're having one of their many arguments about Louis' feelings about killing, right before they turn Claudia
S1E3 "Is my very nature that of a devil?" page 73, after Louis and Lestat are driven off of Louis' plantation & are rejected by a mortal woman Louis likes & thought would protect them
S1E4 "...the ruthless pursuit of blood with all a child's demanding" page 98, said by Louis about Claudia (in narration) ("She was simply unlike Lestat and me to such an extent I couldn't comprehend her; for little child she was, but also fierce killer now capable of the ruthless pursuit of blood with all a child's demanding)
S1E5 "a vile hunger for your hammering heart' page 116, Louis to Claudia, telling her the story of how she was turned ("I felt for you again, a vile unsupportable hunger for your hammering heart, this cheek, this skin.") While S2E7 gives us more context on how Claudia was turned, in the book it was very different-- Louis just straight up saw her and couldn't resist nearly killing her, & a few days later Lestat decides to turn her to save their marriage
S1E6 "Like angels put in Hell by God" page 148-- Louis says this to a priest in confessional after Lestat 'dies'. ("I am not mortal, father, but immortal and damned, like angels put in hell by God.")
S1E7 "The thing lay still" page 138, Louis' description of Lestat's dead (ish) body
S2E1 "What can the damned really say to the damned?" page 168, Louis contemplating what he might find in Eastern Europe as he and Claudia sail to Europe.
S2E2 "Do you know what it means to be loved by death?" page 224, said by Santiago in basically the exact same context, although the play is different.
S2E3 "No pain" page 225, said by Armand, who is onstage & is the one who kills the woman in the first performance we see at Theatre des Vampires
S2E4 "I want you more than anything in the world" page 284, said by Armand to Louis when they're on a little date in this abandoned tower Armand likes to hang out in, notably after Louis turns Madeline without approaching Armand about it; I believe he also repeats it twice same as the show
S2E5 "Don't be afraid. just start the tape" page 3; said by Louis to Daniel basically the same way it happens in the show.
S2E6 "Like the light by which God made the world before He made light" page 142, something Louis says while contemplating his existence directly after Lestat 'dies'. ("I had now lived in two centuries, seen the illusions of one utterly shattered by the other, been eternally young and eternally ancient, possessing no illusions, living moment to moment in a way that made me picture a silver clock ticking in a void: the painted face, the delicately carved hands looked upon by no one, looking out at no one, illuminated by a light which was not a light, like the light by which God made the world before he Had made light.") (jesus, anne. i thought i wrote horribly long sentences)
S2E7 "I could not prevent it" page 307, said by Armand, also repeated twice like he does in the show, although this is said as he's saving Louis rather than in the present day interview
S2E8 "And that's the end of it. There's nothing else" page 341; idk if this is the actual episode title, but it's what wikipedia is telling me and it makes sense enough. The last thing Louis tells to Daniel before ending the story
under the cut-- other lines i remember from the show that i underlined while reading the book; please add on if you have any more or correct anything i got wrong
(also this is all just my memory while reading the book, so it's messy and imperfect) (all of the book quotes should be correct, but forgive me if i cannot remember the lines from the show exactly and don't bother to search for them)
interview begins with "You weren't always a vampire, were you?" and then "There's a simple answer to that. I don't believe I want to give simple answers. I think I want to tell the real story." page 4
Daniel says "ah, that's the accent" and notes that there's a "slight sharpness to the vowels" also page 4
the monologue louis has about becoming a vampire "A dull roar at first and then a pounding like the pounding of a drum" to "i realized that drum was my heart" page 19
various things louis says about lestat in the first interview. i can't remember the exact lines in the episode but i think i remember "I was his complete superior and I had been sadly cheated in having him for a teacher" from page 31 and "he appeared frail and stupid to me, a man made of dried twigs with a thin, carping voice" on page 34
"The blood poured out of him, down his shirt front, down his coat. It poured as it might never pour from a mortal man, all the blood which he had filled from before the child and from the child..." page 137, describing Lestat dying
After they first attempt to kill Lestat, Louis also says the words "beginning the great adventure of our lives" page 142
page 216, when Armand and Louis meet, Armand does say "I will not harm you", and the note on his buisness card says "Bring the petit beauty with you. You are most welcome, Armand."
page 244, parts of the shpiel about concious & unconcious death from the first theatre performance
page 339, Armand says "She never loved you, you know. Not in the way that I loved you, and the way that you loved us both." after which he leaves Louis, something he hasn't managed to do in the show yet, though, to be fair, in the show after he said this Louis immediately ran into the sun
page 343, "This... after all I've told you... is what you ask for? " and "You don't know what human life is like! You've forgotten. You don't even understand the meaning of your own story...", though in the show they change this line a bit to make it sound more natural for a high 20 year old in San Francisco in 1973

Copy/pasting my twt post about meeting Samothy's Dale last night in Melbourne CBD.
Well 😅😜🤭🤭🫢🫡🫣😬 thanks to @moderndaylestat and Lene I did spy and I did witness Dale/TNR activities. And we did see the wonderful & busy Samothy. Gorgeous and just as sweet as usual but it was end of a long day and he was ferried away quickly.
I'll let the lovely gals tell their versions of meeting Sam with their own words. But here are mine.
Sam recognised me with the mask on (I wear it everywhere bc of someone in family is not well for months now so must not bring home the lurgy). He thanked me for my art that I gave him last time(!)
And I was like I got more art (like some street drug dealer) and gave him the Nicki w/ violin, the Wolfkiller and Lestat after Gobi desert art. He only had time to look at Nicki one, smiled and said "It's Nicolas!" (god I love that he's fellow VC fans!!)
He's got a meatpie in one hand. We took a photo (also with my kids who are prob his youngest fans). He kept getting reminded to get in the car. I told him good luck with the nomination for Aacta. He said thank you!
The crew strictly warned about not posting/sharing it anywhere (they were nice about it actually about everything), Sam then said "Or at least until S3 is out." He's so reassuring!
We saw Michael Lucas, Emma Freeman. I didn't see Anna Torv but she was around coz @moderndaylestat saw her. There were about 50 ppl working on this scene. It'd been raining steadily so the CBD was quieter on Monday night. Perfect for an outdoor shoot really.
I look back sometimes at these 'Samothy' happenings. Never knew whether we'd get to talk/meet him at all. This time was not even 5 min. I was tongue-tied but he was always so nice about everything, despite me being this weirdo who keeps giving him VC book-scene arts.
I don't know what else I could give to thank him for bringing that much joy to my mental health. IWTV has been like an anchor!
I was hoping that art prints are light to carry and not cumbersome.
Also I never got more than a few hours warning or guarantee that we'll def see him, to prepare other things.
Someone asked about his health whether he looked tired from back to back filming. I think he looked marvellous. So we all can be happy to know that he didn't look tired at all. I really don't think it's just the makeup. I think he's really happy to be there. And so was all the crew. First day shooting of the Newsreader S3 too.
The Newsreader S2 premiere last time was 15+. That's why this time when I asked my kids you wanna go stalk Samothy on the street of Melb, they jumped up and like say no more. They had a great time watching filming.
My other kid (14 yo) yelled at Sam when he was getting in the car. "You were great, Sam!" and he shouted back "Thanks!" ROFL. Both my kids were really happy with their first celeb-brush.
We never met ANYONE who's even slightly famous. Sam was a really safe, lovely celeb to meet!

I think this is a 50 year old who is uncomfortable talking about race and so uses every excuse not to do it, along with the rest of them. She's been linked to a user here who v loudly believes in reverse racism (and is still complaining about the show's treatment of lestat rn) so it's not surprising either. [someone asked me about Virginia's post the other day too so here is the response to that as well]
I think nobody considers that a young, black actress might not want the whole weight of a question like that put on her early in her career, when she could be called "a problem" if she doesn't do PR well. Have they asked any of the white cast about this? Why don't they?
Watching this show and saying vampires don't care about race, especially after seeing the trial scenes, is rly a choice. As I've said many times before, the slavery / lynching aspects of the trial were no accident. Those details are not from the books. Ppl are getting confused bcuz Madeleine's presence there doesn't make sense to them, as if everyone on trial has to be black in order for this to "work." White ppl who side too much with black ppl have a long history of being killed too. Madeleine was the only one of them given a choice for "redemption" and Santiago prbly had her "sedated" so much to give her extra protection beforehand. If she keeps quiet and looks dazed then she looks like another innocent, white victim to the "aggressive" black pursuer.
The vampires notice race just like we do and it's fucking lazy and racist to see these things and run to accounts u know will tell u it's ok to ignore. label this "fandom wank" and say "don't listen to the meanies, racism isn't real." Calling this a story about monsters and saying morality doesn't matter is the logic of a 12 year old child who wishes to remain a child forever. Who are u bragging to? Where is ur pride coming from? Never examining things from other perspectives? Do u think that's maturity?
I was gonna get more into the part about Lestat fans and accusations of racism and supporting domestic abuse but that's a whole post by itself.
This side of the fandom never talks about anything. I know this show is about vampires too but I can talk about the differences in what kind of vampires they are, what the commentary behind their actions is, how race affects these things. These other accounts have more engagement bcuz they don't require people to think about anything. It's all stroking ppl's egos about "see, I knew I was right!" It's easy to be racist and ignorant, that's how most societies raise everyone bcuz how could white supremacy and capitalism exist without that?
Tumblr media
Case in fucking point.
I don't personally know Assad, but I can still assure u that he is not "ok" about the skin lightening. Taking selfies next to a prop bcuz they found something to resemble u enough for the story does not mean he's ok with whitewashing. This is a really big, racist leap to take.

So I've decided to ignore sleep tonight (though it's already 6am so whatever), because several reasons I won't get into. Anyway I'm reading Prince Lestat and I am LOVING it. There is just so much lore?! So many new characters, fascinating characters?! A whole world of vampires whose stories are connected or totally not to the Coven of the Articulate?! There's just so much.
In my last post, about how I skipped quickly Blackwood Farm and Blood Canticle, I wrote that I was finding it academically fascinating to read several decades worth of an entire literature world in the span of a month only. To continue in this vein (pun intended), reading PL after having binge-read the original VC books is a deep dive into how history has sped up since the 80s.
I'm not just thinking about because I'm reading Gregory's chapter and that's what he's observing, and also because the changed world and what it means for vampire society ("the tribe", and how I adore that terminology) is the big main theme of this final trilogy. It's something I've been thinking about since TVL at least. How for how these novels pertain to the horror and the fantastic genres, they are also a mirror of the society and time during which AR was writing. And because she kept writing decade after decade, and kept observing the world around here, each new book is its own little observation about the early 80s, then late 80s, then first half of the 90s, second half of the 90s, and now we're right smack in the middle 2010s and these immortal characters are feeling the weight of this rapidly changing world.
And it makes me think of actual human beings born in the 40s or 50s, or even 60s, or my own grandfather born in 1931, and how, just like a lot of these vampires recounted in PL, they sometimes can't follow all the changes brought in the last three decades (the biggest thing is technology, intradiegetically Lestat himself saying he keeps forgetting how to use his smartphone, but extradiegetically, it's how AR writes "to go on the computer" and other phrases like that, that sounds weird to the ear of someone who's grown up with this tech). And AR was over 70yo when she wrote PL, so I'm imagining that she was also writing her own impressions of this 21st century world that she saw developing under her eyes.
And in light of all the historic events we live week after week these past handful of years only (the 2020s want to bury us), it's quite interesting to apply that way of thinking to our generation too (millenials and younger, the 80s-90s-early 00s kids). Saw a post earlier saying "do you think one day we'll get to live in precedented times", in answer to the classic "we're living in unprecedented times", and I think of how the VC are the stories of one handful of characters in a world full of other characters who are not or relatively not concerned by these big stories. And how the Coven of the Articulate is considered as legendary amongst the rest of vampiredom, while they themselves don't really realise their fame, or when they do, they reject it. And how in the actual world, there are still a huge percentage of the world population that's not concerned at all by things that here make us all go frothing at the mouth because "omg we're witnessing history". Yes, "we" are witnessing something that will appear in the history books, but it is so because we have decided to put ourselves in the narrative. So many people are not even caring a little bit about big news that seem so important to us, because their lives have other matters to care for. And it's not that they're wrong or we're wrong, it's not about that, it's mostly about how the rapid changes of the world in the 21st century has made a category of people (all ages all nationalities alike) the Main Character, concerned by the narrative and trying to control it or change it (voting, protesting, activism) while so many others are still going on about their lives as usual, maybe seeing the same things as the first category, using the same tools, but not seeing the connection between it and them (the "mavericks" as AR calls them), or others starting to realise and not knowing how to join the narrative (Antoine, Gregory), while yet others have picked up a whole other way of being part of the narrative while not being part of it (Fareed).
I don't know if that makes sense. Maybe I do need to go lay down for a couple of hours after all.

S2E4 thoughts: I Want you more than anything in the world
Claudia's tableaux: Claudia as a child who dreams so strongly of freedom, she believes she is a bird. She is nailed in place, but breaks free and in her quest for freedom, inadvertently kills herself: the only true freedom coming when her soul ascends... the direct foreshadowing beneath the frippery of the twee, 50's-esque play! Delaney delivers Claudia's jaded versions of the play so well and it's so funny how much the other vampires detest the popularity of this non-gothic (though obviously still twisted!) piece!
"It wasn't ennui, it was sabotage!" Really, Armand! You truly know Claudia better than that! He really hates Claudia, Armand, doesn't he... where is his empathy for her?
The inner fragility of Armand in this episode: truly hurt when Louis trivialises what their relationship is... and still feeling he needs to teach in order to deserve love - teaching Louis the fire gift... spoiler... Louis is gonna be using THAT!
Sam is comedic genius in the first DreamStat scene - his amused disdain "I love you" hahahaha.
Armand's pain in Dubai when Louis describes hoe he could feel Dream-Lestat's breath; the movement of air when he moved; his hand almost as if real... this is 3/4 of a century on from that time and still Armand is as if made of porcelain, held together only by will and the desperate hope of Louis' infinite love for him...
Why does Daniel ask about the theatre burning down? From his own volition? Confusion? Or does Armand, upset by Louis' revelation of how real DreamStat was and by Daniel questioning if Armand felt Lestat's presence... does Armand make Daniel ask it?
Santiago is SO GOOD in this episode. I know many raved about his acting on stage, but I think other actors could be great there too... but I think few others could also ground Santiago so deeply as a real character as well as going to those theatrical extremes. He is simultaneously cruel and menacing, yet can use a veil of kindness where you can see why Claudia would fall for it. He's not a pantomime villain either - Armand killing his maker just for making him without permission is genuine motivation he would feel Louis and Claudia deserve death. Especially when you consider most fledglings are made in love, so Santiago's maker was very likely a lover, or at least loved him.
I liked Claudia and Madeleine and I see why they like each other. Madeleine really listens to Claudia - her story and her feelings and takes her seriously in a way nobody probably ever has. Poor Claudia. She gives her permission to be herself.
Madeleine calls herself Gretel when she leaves a trail of period blood... little does she know how accurate she is!
LOL at how pretentious Louis is talking of art in Paris... it is canon book-Louis that he can be this way at times too...
I ADORED the way they did Santiago's mimicry - truly menacing and dangerous! This moment in the books would be pantomime on TV, and this was utterly perfect. As was Louis' genuinely scary response. Armand doesn't have control of Louis and even Claudia is scared!
I don't understand what's going on with the photos...? Why?
Armand calling Louis "Dear"...
Implied by DreamStat (And thus by Louis) that Louis often drank the blood of people he photographed, even when he didn't spend a lot of time with them...
Louis desiring Lestat to be in his photos
LOL @ Armand doing Romeo and Juliet... such a silly, childlike and innocent attempt at Romance!
Armand made me cry in the Louvre...
I have been waiting for Armand to make my cry and oh my, did he here. Such utterly exquisite work in this episode by Assad.
First, the scene were Louis is talking about how he felt Lestat's breath; the movement of air; could touch his hand and it was almost real... and Armand... even though this was 3/4 of a century ago is visibly broken, like he was a porcelain vase, held together only by his will and desperate belief he is loved above all by Louis... my HEART.
And this scene... The only time I wishes Dreamstat wasn't there. Assad's delivery - just devastating.
Yet we also see a new level of cruelty and callousness from Armand we have not yet seen this episode. Assad has understood (as have the writers) book-Armand for all his duality and the fragility at his core so fully and beautifully. What a heartbreaking joy it is to watch his work this season.
Assad. Assad. Assad. Assad. Assad.
Arun. Amadeo. Armand.
The broken child of eternity.
The terrifying, yet composed Maitre.
The lost boy, named beloved, but was he really ever beloved by anyone?
His desperate need. And yet his power.
His innocence & his cruelty.
All of the dualities within the extraordinary half-a-millennia old being. Armand: trapped over & over by beings & in systems that purport to sustain him. Afraid to take action ever to escape, as who is he beyond what he has to give? So much love & unknowing how to give or receive it. Desperately alone. How lucky are we to experience this Armand? And still so much more, I know.
I thought S2 would be Claudia's, and of course it is... but to me, more than Claudia's, or Louis', or Daniels... thus far, it has felt Armand's. And I love that for Armand - our most complex vampire, in my opinion.
Yeah, for the first time, I felt sad (for Armand) that Lestat was there at all
Armand was turned at age 27 we now know
Who is Armand? He can only be filled by some thing external to himself... what are Lestat's words - something like a soulless thing who needs the power and passion of others to exist. We're getting that proper quote at some point, surely?!
Armand - so scary with Claudia and Santiago... but, if he knew Santiago was there, he truly did confirm for him what Claudia and Louis have done...
Lestat 'pretended to be an actor for two years' - from Louis or Armand?
The (Savage) Wilderness that is our daughter... I got an episode shoutout almost, hahahaha!!
I simply didn't expect this episode to be the last time we saw Dreamstat. It makes so much sense of course, but it surprised me is all! I didn't expect it till it was happening and this made me cry too.
Lestat is not really lost though: he merges now with Louis, to become part of his heart rather than a separate ghost.
Louis chooses to see Lestat in this suit for the final times because he knows already that Lestat has Louis' initials sewn on the pocket by his heart. That's why he picks that suit here. Lestat gradually mimics Louis' movements exactly, says not what his subconscious haunts him with, but what he wants him to say and eventually, on the word that would be "heart", Lestat dissolves entirely - implied returning back into Louis' heart.
The last time we will see Dreamstat. I didn't expect it, but I found it deeply Romantic and it tore at my heart too that through the scene the music that plays is Armand and Louis' theme... because *now* for the first time, Louis intends to truly try with Armand...
The rain washing Lestat away, like tears...
Is Louis giving Santiago power part of Claudia's demise? Will Armand be as responsible for Claudia's death as in the books? Or will it lean more to Santiago? Armand has threatened Claudia, but he hasn't told her the kind of things he does in the books as yet that we have seen...?
Daniel in episode 5 will be A LOT!!!

Hello! I hope I won't sound like hater but I want to point out inconsistency in Anne's narrative. So Claudia was burned by the sun and left behind yellow dress she was in, right? But if she was Frankensteined prior to this, than body would be from another vampire, so dress wasn't hers. I think Anne retconed it but didn't think about it too hard. I mean they can make both Claudia's parts being burned by the sun of course...
Also, do you think body for Claudia was from some random theater member vampire? Or Madeleine. I can see Armand not even mentioning Madeleine by name because she's irrelevant to him. I can also see them doing this on their own (Robin&co I mean)
I think the only way to do this so that'll look organic is to have Madeleine and Claudia swap heads and them both being burned by the sun. Maybe add scene Louis buying Claudia yellow dress when they just arrived in Paris "for special occasion" or something to add emotional involvement in dress. At first I thought they can make dress old gift from lestat (we know from clues in ep4 that lestat used to buy her clothes even if Louis have better fashion sense) but than I thought "no way Claudia's wearing something that lestat got her"
What do you think?
There are LOTS of inconsistencies.
Anne made a lot up while she went and at some point she fired her editor. And the books are written over 40+, almost 50 years, and the first one was written from a massive place of grief.
However, I don't think that... matters.
Was it the same yellow dress? Was it another? Does Lestat misremember? Did Armand use Madeleine's body for the experiment? (I think he might have, yes.) Did he even care? Did he choose another yellow dress after to hide his botched experiment? Did Louis and Lestat want to see the dress as yellow? Has their memory mixed things together?
I'm not sure that matters in the narrative, because... Memory is a Monster.
The show latched onto those inconsistencies in the books, has latched onto the discussions and remarks about memory and the different viewpoints, and has already, imho, elevated it all to art.
I mean, I have seen at least three different versions of the "Shrieks in the darkness" posters... do we really think that is an oversight??
No. It's most definitely not.
They're playing with this aspect, and us, and the characters. Because of the inconsistencies.
As per the yellow dress itself, I agree she might not wear something Lestat got her... but then the show established already that she bought (organized) her own things years ago... I absolutely think the clothes Claudia wears will bear significance. But if that will be a yellow dress... we'll see.

Share 10 facts about an OC and their significant other
Audrey has so many affairs and significant others both in her canon story and otherwise. So she’s out, for this round. (X)
I just did Catherine, or my “Lady Samedi.”
(X)
On Baron Samedi in Haitian Vodou.
So, the vampire Marian, my self insert and their (ex) boyfriend and best friend, the werewolf Oscar it is!
Thanks again! @arrthurpendragon 💞
Tumblr media
1. South Asian, Marian is South Asian and French/Norwegian like myself. But more than 50% brown, also like myself.
2. Marian is bi-gray ace-polyam. Marian is they/she but like myself, prefers they/them to most.
What’s a straight vampire?
3. A follies performer and flapper in the 1920s also an aspiring writer and poet. An all around creative person.
4. My most neurodivergent vampire. Though all my vampires are that way to a degree. But Marian’s canonically autistic-adhd and low needs BPD.
5. Marian’s a part time occult dabbler and has a skill-ish for reading tarot cards. (As do I).
6. Marian is culturally and religiously Hindu, this leads to interesting conversations of philosophy and religion with Catherine (a Vodou practitioner) and Oscar (a catholic) and is in juxtaposition with Audrey, a cultural French Roman Catholic and functional atheist sometimes agnostic.
7. A goth in the modern era, they like post punk and black clothes. (Brown goth playlist).
8. Bobbed hair for eternity because they got turned in the year 1922. Which is very gender, I think. Gabrielle de Lioncourt is jealous.
9. Is old enough to remember the “Great War” but either represses it or geniunely forgetful of the tragedy, for their sanity.
10. Their favourite book is Dracula (1897) by Bram Stoker, they have a particular fondness for Mina.
Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein is a close second. Their favourite modern-ish vampire book the The Vampire Lestat by Anne Rice. They want to hug Nicolas and lecture Lestat the bi bastard (affectionate) bluntly but all in good intent. They’d like to meet him! Wouldnt kiss him though, especially since Catherine already likes Lestat more than Marian personally ‘gets.’
Tumblr media Tumblr media
As a side: Audrey is Lestat’s mistress in some universes. 🤷‍♀️ & Catherine a fledgling of Lestat.
Onto Oscar…
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
He is Latino, born in Texas near Mexico, and also a descendant of Quincey P. Morris of Dracula (1897 fame, or infamy) to some vampires.
He is a werewolf by bloodline rather than biting, a burden he feels a myriad of complex emotions about. (Werewolves overly sarcastic) (lore for werewolves part 1) (part 2)
Cis male (he/him). Bisexual disaster. Polyam (maybe??) (that's not as set in stone as my vampires) - he understandably doesn't like loneliness.
A flirt as a defence mechanism, but it's mostly words and only words, he is not the "Latine lover" trope. It's a trauma response.
Latino and Roman Catholic.
Multi-skilled! A pianist, a gentleman, a cowboy and a skilled sharpshooter and marksman who seldom missed a pistol shot.
As a werewolf he has an extended lifespan and above-average healing abilities. Whilst not immortal in the vampire way it does make one's priorities change and change one's morality a bit. He is willing to die for a cause he believes in, just like his ancestor, Quincey Morris, but if he can stave off the shadow of death, he will.
He has an odd affection for some vampires, which is odd given everything about him. He sees it as many vampires did not ask to be what they are, just as he did not ask for lycanthropy.
Can shift into a werewolf when threatened or attacked, still holds an obligation to Mistress Luna (the moon) as most werewolves do, but he can shift in defence of himself and others.
His relationship(s) with Marian and Catherine is... complicated in an endearing way. They say they are "friends" sometimes they're lovers, and other times they're queer platonic. Mostly they're just bound by fate, regard, mutual respect and queer affection, platonic or not.

AMC's Interview With A Vampire for the TV series ask!
my all-time ultimate fave character: My precious murder kitten Armand. He's been my favorite since the books and the show did not change that.
a character I didn’t used to like but now do: ...hm. I guess you could say Louis? This is the first version of him I haven't been...like, generally I find Louis kind of boring lol. This version, I don't. I also like the way they fleshed Santiago out here.
a character I used to like but now don’t: Hm. I'm...I actually don't think my opinions on most of the characters have shifted across this adaptation? I guess I'm a little less fond of this Lestat than I have been of other versions, but not by much?
a character I’m indifferent about: I guess Madeleine?
a character who deserved better: So this is a complicated answer but I think I have to go with Claudia. Both for the obvious narrative reasons, but also...like obviously no live-action adaptation is going to make her six the way she is in the books, and I recognize that the show had to age her up for practical reasons (had to cast someone at least 18, could only age her down so far), but I do think her story loses something when she's older than 10/11 (as she was in the 1994 film and the stage musical). Also I'm still mad about the stuff with Killer in S1, I think that was gratuitous.
a ship I’ve never been able to get into: Don't think there are any that have shown up onscreen so far. I mean, I'm generally pretty neutral on Louis/Armand in any version, but in an Ambivalent way rather than in a Not Interested way, if that makes sense?
a ship I’ve never been able to get over: Armand and Daniel. I'm looking forward to them actually having a chance in this version lol.
a cute, low-key ship: A low-key ship? In this fandom?! Lol.
an unpopular ship but I still enjoyed it: I honestly don't know what the unpopular ships in this fandom are lol.
a ship that was totally wrong and never should have happened: The one that comes to mind is books-only and also I'm not...100% sure it counts as a ship? The stuff that goes down with Sybelle is. Weird. Anyway, given where they're going with Daniel and Armand in this adaptation, I'm hoping we can skip all that. And maybe fix some of the issues with Benji (see, aging him up from twelve would make sense but that's a separate conversation and like. Several seasons down the line lol).
my favourite storyline/moment: There are quite a few, but the first one that comes to mind is Louis and Armand wandering through the Louvre together. The way Armand just casually deals with the guards; and then the way he talks about his history with the painting. I did also like Dream!stat.
a storyline that never should have been written: The Killer stuff in S1. As I said. Gratuitous. Still mad about it.
my first thoughts on the show: 'Not sure how I feel about the timeline change; it'll probably be either Real Bad in a fun way unlike the QotD movie which was just Bad or Genuinely Good and I'm not sure which I'm hoping for.'
my thoughts now: I like it a lot; I think it mostly does interesting things to the source material and the changes it makes either make sense/work or are minor enough that they only stick out to me as trivia (i.e., shifting Armand's timeline like 50 years for...reasons?) Also I am really looking forward to getting Gabrielle next season.
Ask me about a TV show!

And then my brain was like "Oh hey, that teacher AU thingy, I have ~ideas~" and I'm like "But we're supposed to be writing an original novel," and my brain was like "IDEAS!!!!" so...ideas~*~*~
The general set up
It's just after Labor Day weekend 2001. Daniel's been divorced for almost four or so months after being married for twenty years. He'll be 50 in December. He's been sober since 1983. He's got a weekly political column and he's about to start work on the first draft of his next book.
He is also at his daughters' high school because Alice works a 9 to 5 and won't be home until 6, but he lives in an apartment near the school so tag he's it. His younger daughter Jess is a freshman and failing every single one of her classes including art even though she's good at it. His older daughter, Mandy, is doing well grade wise but her French teacher found a pack of cigarettes in her purse and her choir teacher is upset because it's ruining the choir.
AU characters
Daniel - almost 50, journalist/writer. Freshly divorced and kind of deciding what to do with his time. He tries his best to be a dad, but he's fallible as anyone can be especially since when he's not working on a book he tends to be gone researching the next one
Armand - 30 - Does he have a last name? No one knows. All the students just call him Mr. Armand. He teaches theater, drama, and English. The kids ADORE him because he's young and relatable and lets them put on things like Sweeny Todd as the school musical
Louis - early 30's - French teacher. Monsieur de Pointe du Lac. Students also adore him. He expects a lot out of them
Lestat - mid 30's - Choir teacher. Mr. Lioncourt. He's absolutely ruthless but it's gotten them top in the state (and top 10 in the country) in competitions and no one's revolted by quitting yet so it's working.
Mandy - 17 going on 18, high school senior, looks like her dad. OVER IT about the divorce, but still getting good grades because she takes pride in herself. Has had a smoking and drinking problem for a few years now, though many think it only just started because of the divorce. Tends to be a serial monogamist, always has a boyfriend. She feels like she had to raise her sister by herself because their dad was always off somewhere and their mom sometimes works late and on weekends.
Jess - 14 going on 15 - high school freshmen - kind of pudgey around the edges, always wearing every color of the rainbow, would be on the volleyball team but her grades are tanking, clearly a lesbian but she doesn't maybe know this yet, shameless flirt, she's extremely talented in art but is failing her art class because she draws things other than the assignment and only turns in the written portions if they do them in class. Taking the divorce very hard because she didn't really see it coming because she thought her parents were the norm.
Alice - mid 40's - works as a secretary at a law firm. Tries her best to be a mom but also tries her best to be a law secretary so she's not always around. She's been sober since 1982.
Other characters may appear to fill in staff roles and such. We'll see how it goes. I want Claudia in here somewhere but where and how I'm not sure yet.
Potential events
Daniel ends up going to the teacher meetings because Alice has work. He meets with the girls' teachers. Louis drops the cigarette bombshell, Lestat is Lestat. Armand catches Daniel off guard. Armand has an ease to him but there's also an edge. He's intriguing but also kind of young.
Armand comes away from the meeting intrigued as well. Daniel being 50 doesn't phase him in the slightest.
Daniel takes the girls home because now that it's been established Mandy's smoking, Alice and Daniel decided while Alice is at work, he's got to keep an eye on them after school. Mandy is sincerely offended. Jess is content to work at the table while Daniel works on his book even though she's not really doing her assignments. Daniel leaves when Alice comes home. Neither of them are excited about this arrangement since they wanted a cleaner break, but they're doing what they can for the girls' sakes.
Daniel knows he should probably get himself back out there. He's not really sure where "there" would be, but he tries a local club and avoids the bar part of it like the plague, though it's tempting. The music is definitely different (the death of disco vs. Tiësto) but he likes the anonymity of it all. He runs into Armand at one of these forays. This Armand is a bit different from the one at the school. There's more edge to him and that blanket of darkness, strobe lights, glow sticks, etc...is more freeing than a classroom.
There's probably a series of situations in which Daniel and Armand run into each other. Stalking? I dunno, but you know a nod to the game they played in the books. At some point they kiss. It's completely earth shattering.
Daniel's pretty sure he's having a midlife crisis. He wants Armand. Armand is Jess' English teacher. Armand is also 20 years younger than him. He is not doing a good job of talking himself out of anything because that's never been his strong suit. He's pretty sure he only had it in himself to talk him out of bad choices once and he already used that to get sober when he found out Alice was pregnant with Mandy.
Armand meanwhile, knows what he wants and aims to get it. It's not hard to run into Daniel in the city. They live in the same borough. Daniel doesn't go to the bars but he will go to the clubs where he doesn't have to think about his sexuality too hard and such. They also run into each other at other locations Armand's probably noticed Daniel at before like local shops and such. He's got his cleavage out. He's got his hair done. He's learning Daniel's buttons. He's going to get what he wants and that determination is definitely part of what's attracting Daniel to him.
The winter concert arrives. Jess is in the freshman girls' choir and Mandy is in one of the fancy singing and dancing groups. Alice gave Daniel a new digital video camera that takes movies. He's managed to get it to work but not with sound. Armand appears and helps him work the device. They stand silently in the back row while the freshmen perform. Daniel turns off the camera. They whisper a bit back and forth and quiet again when Mandy's group goes on. Finally the concert is over. Daniel thanks Armand for his help. Armand something something flirtatious.
Daniel has the girls for winter break. They go to visit his family in San Francisco. Daniel goes for a nigh out to an old gay bar he used to wander into before he met Alice. He ends up encountering Louis and Lestat of all people there. Louis and Lestat are a couple. They aren't married yet because it's 2001. They came to San Francisco to get away from everyone and have some fun. They used to go to New Orleans to see Louis' family but some major drama last year ruined it for this year. Louis knows Armand is into Daniel, he maybe wingmans or something here though Armand is back in New York.
Daniel heads back to New York. He's still working on the first draft but it's almost finished. Jess' grades are up somewhat but Mandy is still sneaking things.
One night it's snowing and freezing because it's winter in New York. Daniel's out and runs into Armand. They have a moment. Daniel almost thinks about inviting him back but doesn't. Armand does invite Daniel to his place and it's very, very tempting. Daniel makes an excuse but keeps thinking about it.
Eventually, they do end up banging it out. Daniel has a lot to think about. Armand is still in it to win it.
Things to consider
The generalized structure of a romance novel (even if this doesn't end up 80,000~ words, the structure might help place plot points and stir drama
What is the ending?
What's the time frame of the story? The school year? More than that?
Are there repercussions? Or does that make things too complicated?
There's probably a school musical
Armand dressed up as a vampire for Halloween
Claudia (and Madeleine?)
I am going to have to write at least M stuff properly for the first time in years. I hope I'm not rusty
Part of Daniel's crisis is he's bisexual and in denial

no bc the fact that the 3rd option has a significant amount of votes is INSANE
you know why? BECAUSE THE SERIES DID NOT MADE JUSTICE TO LOUMAND
in the iwtv book, these two are IN LOVE. L O V E. LOVE. louis describes armand in such a way that daniel left the interview 50% in love with armand.
they barely knew each other but louis and armand spoke to each other like they were long time friends.
they barely knew each other but when claudia said that louis would leave her for armand if he called him, she was RIGHT. because he left her for armand. and they barely knew each other.
louis says multiple times that he loves armand, more than he says that he loves lestat (barely any).
when armand tells louis that he desires and loves him, louis is in complete shock because armand barely says anything or shows any emotion.
these two are so interesting to read, but in the series they are just???????? not in love?????
it was cute when they were lovey dovey on the couch talking to daniel, or when armand moved in with louis. but in most of their scenes, i can't see the love???
especially after the changes they did to the trial, like. louis IS NOT ON THE TRIAL. the plot twist of the book is that armand was on the trial. making louis see lestat and armand on the trial made not only his relationship with armand strained, something that only happens in the end of the book, but strengthen the idea that loumand is just a little side quest, and that lestat and louis are the only thing that matters.
the series went with so much focus on louistat (which i agree, since in the book louis hate lestat) that loumand was made all about louistat.
as armand said in s02e05, it always circled back to him. to lestat. to lestat and louis.
my otps are devils minion and nickistat, but damn sending love for my loumand friends

I mean, it makes sense if he goes back to Antoinette when things sour with Louis and Claudia bc that's Antoine's point in the book, it's Antoine who helps Lestat get back on his feet after [redacted], that's what he's there for, I just wonder how the timeline is gonna work exactly bc some decades will have passed so if he turns Antoinette she'll likely be older?
Oh yeah absolutely! She really is the only other person (who isn’t now dead or related to Louis) who he’s interacted with at this point so it makes sense that he would go to her for help after [redacted], as he did in the book
I’m curious about the timeline too, because if it all falls to shit around the 40s it’s been at least 20 years since their first affair, right? Like it’s gotta be obvious to her immediately that Lestat is a vampire, though I guess if Lestat begins feeding on her like he did on Antoine in the book she’d find out about that pretty quick anyway (and also the added context from the pilot about how intimate the little drink feels will DESTROY ME when Louis finds out about that)
I’ve also been wondering what the exact circumstances of him going to her are because obviously he’s been committed to Louis ever since their attempt at an open relationship imploded. I can see them arguing about Louis pulling away from him and in a fit of anger Louis throwing it back in Lestat’s face that if he wants attention maybe he should just go back to Antoinette
And Lestat, being the dramatic bitch he is, being like “WELL FINE MAYBE I WILL” and does out of spite and finds she’s like 50 years old now and he has some explaining to do

Rolin Jones saying he made the show for neilcfreak doesn't absolve her of her racism and general unpleasantness. It proves two things. That Rolin doesn't know anything about fandom and if he does doesn't care. And two that even the most wretched white people get good things. They get to slip into spaces they shouldn't even after being terrible while Black people who are more deserving don't.
Also let's not kid ourselves. Rolin makes this show for Lestat and the huge boner he has for Lestat. When he found out AMC had bought the books he begged to be put on the project and had his own production company come up with a brief to present to AMC.
He's said repeatedly that he can't wait to do the Lestat season and that he enjoys writing Lestat. By the way I have no problem with him loving Lestat because that hasn't stood in the way of Season 1 being as good as it is.
I'm just saying he didn't know Gorrei before he spent money to pitch the show. So let's take that with a grain of salt.
I'm p sure Rolin says a lot that he doesn't read stuff online. he's also a white guy in his 50s with a long history of working in television. it's ttly different worlds. I don't expect him to know shit lol.
but ya that's the point ppl don't want u to focus on. ppl want u to think if I was nicer then we'd all sit down and solve racism in an hour and I could stop being so "jealous" and "have fun" too. lol but that's not real. all of this happening isn't v surprising because this is already what's been happening and will continue to happen. the white fandom ppl the show seeks out or who buy access to these spaces aren't more deserving or smarter (def not that lol) they're just white. anne rice was also just white. if she'd been anything else she'd have lost her job instantly for opening her mouth the way she did.
this is why white ppl need to be the ones saying things more because a lot of white fandom bs relies on white ignorance and appealing to white emotions. rn white fandom here isn't even mostly white ppl anymore and that's made it worse tbh. cuz they rely on usually showmey0urfangs or maybe keybearer to shout down at ppl how they're black and won't be spoken over.....while literally they have no community with the black fandom here anymore at all lol. neither one of them is american either btw. there's not a single well known black american fan here despite that being the main character of the show rn and plenty of fans fitting that description. if neilcfreak wanted to scream so loudly about "I'm (white) jewish so understand the struggle" when talking about racism then where tf is her solidarity for speaking on racist shit lol. couldn't possibly be that was only a way for her to avoid apologizing for saying racist shit? never....
white fandom only cares about protecting its own and having a specific identity only when it can be weaponized to avoid accountability. that's all anne rice did too. arguing with ppl and being a constant victim is a basic manipulation technique meant to exhaust the other side and "win" without needing to provide any real argument. these ppl can't talk about the themes of anything with any depth so u'll notice even when talking about the books, it's always broad mentions of "dark themes" without discussing them ever. they're only smart to themselves and that's why they're in my asks screaming I'm jealous of them. u can see how maven and them talk how superior they feel for this despite the majority of the fandom knowing they're stupid. ur just white, that's the end of it. u have never proven ur deserving of anything and I already know that's how the world works so lol. scream it at me as much as u want but it doesn't make it more true. ur just white and whiteness gets rewarded when u also promote white fandom shit. this group works together to promote each other for this reason but it's still usually only the white ppl getting the full benefits. ur bland af catering to the widest appeal possible. ur challenging nothing but needing to get in my asks to show off about it because ur so angry I'm not kissing ur asses lol. the lestat parallels never end I stg.
the one thing I think white fandom isn't prepared for tho is that maybe the Rolin's lestat won't be the version they expect him to be either lol. if ur familiar with stuff Rolin does I don't think he's gonna be what they want and that's gonna be so funny.

RIP Anne Rice.
I thought about sharing the impact she had on my life after seeing so many fans doing it...reading your stories felt so warm everyone...
I remember a few years ago I sent a message to Anne about how she changed my life. I am born with many disabilities and had a lot of trouble staying focus and learning in class, at 13 I haven’t read a single book on my own and I didn’t know if I ever could have a future, have friends, a lover, it was all a distant dream. I felt like no one could ever loved me, like I didn’t belong. Then I discovered the movie IWTV, then for the 1st time I was sooo into it that I decided to start a book. To start a book was huge to me at that time, it seemed to be an impossible task. But I was so involved in it that I did it, even tho my disabilities wouldn’t allow me too until now.  After that I was kinda able to read, to educate myself through her books (she would narrate X event or talk about X artist and out of curiosity I would check what it is about etc.).
She showed me many doors of possibilities, it was up to me to choose which one I wanted to open. Among them: the desire of non-conformity ; the lgbtq+ community (including polyamourous, acexuality) ; the worth of having friends being a family ; acceptation of itself  but also acceptation that there is some darkness/bad in us because we are human with flaws ; realizing that if we are alive, we are meant to be there/to belong somewhere.
She revealed through her characters that there is a monster in every human, and a human in every monster. That what society tells you is wrong...isn’t necessary and that’s up to you to reflect on it. She taught me all those during my life full of fear and doubt.
Finally, she showed me everyone makes mistakes. Through her characters (yeah especially you Lestat!), but also herself. We must look how she changed since IWTV publication. She admitted she was wrong sueing people for fanfictions, she was supportive of trans people, she left christianity because of how they treated the LGBTQ+ community and how antifeminists were, she included more diversity in her books, a diversity not limited to sexuality but to ethnicity. On that matter, I personally, I think she wanted the afro-american cast especially to show people that there is nothing wrong with it, just like being gay, and that even if society tells you racialized people do not belong...they do, they always did. but that is another debate anyway.
My point is: she was human, with her flaws and qualities. And she inspired me to accept myself and becoming the better version of myself, because it is possible. It is possible for all of us.
I will forever remember that I met my best friend thanks to her, the funniest part is…he was actually following my blog (it was his fav one back then) but we only discovered this fact months later. It is an intimate story I will never get tired of, it felt like fate. We stayed friends for 10 years now…But Anne, she left.
Another small story: I work in a hospital and our boss is a 50 years woman and she is like very very strict. One day I saw her with a VC book in the arms, the last one (Prince Lestat). Immediately I stop her and I ask her about it. Which she answered all excited that she read all the VC and that she is a fan for yeaaarrss. She then told me her story, how Anne helped her forging her personality and the huge impact she had when she was younger. Until then I’ve only met fans from my generation so I kinda never wondered what impact she could have caused…to read, to love, and to discover yourself through her books in a much close-minded society.
Btw for those who didn’t know, Lestat was inspired by her husband, Claudia by her deceased daughter...and yeah...she was Louis.
Thank you so much Anne, in those dark teenage years and even later, your books saved me in many ways. May you rest in peace and be reunited with your husband and daughter.

YOU GET ME
everything @pynkhues said. there are so many 40-and-50yo actors who could rock the fuck out of this role, and could be aged up. i do not deny it. i hunger for more these favs on my screen (the ones listed here make my heart sing). thank god we’re finally coming to a time when 40-and-50yo female-presenting actors are finally being allowed major roles where they are desirable and sexual, which hopefully is going to sound odd to some people, but trust: was not always so
so similarly? while we’re talking ageism/sexism? if they cast an actor for gabrielle who is not *at least* 25 years older than the actor playing her youngest son? we missed an opportunity. that ideally means casting a person in her 60s or older.
just like we’re FINALLY being allowed to see female-presenting actors in their 40s and 50s being sexual and desirable onscreen, it still feels forbidden/daring to have a female-presenting 60-or-70yo being sexual or desirable onscreen.
if someone put a gun to my head and forced me to guess if AMC is going to go there? i’d say I doubt it. i’m cynical and jaded. AMC gave us a sexy male vampire in his 70s, but what are the odds they’ll dare to break this other barrier.
lestat is gabrielle’s 8th child in the books; maybe they strain credulity and have her start giving birth at age 12, but. jesus: do they really want that all for the sake of casting a younger actor in her role lol? honestly they’ll probably rewrite her to have fewer children, but even if she has only 3, the issue remains. reid is 37 and they’re aging him down a few years for his immortal character as time passes irl, but *we* know his age, and *i* as someone who is female-presenting am observing their decisions.
She's too big an actress probably and this doesn't work age-wise, unless they made it that becoming vampire makes Gabrielle look younger, but I feel like Rachel Weisz would be insanely good
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ooo, I don't really know Eve Best super well (I'm so sorry, I haven't watched HOTD, I was too burnt by GOT!) but she definitely has the look. Both Rachel Weisz and Jennifer Ehle could be amazing - Rachel's always sublime, and Jennifer I feel is always so underrated (I was briefly obsessed with her Saint Maud performance, and honestly, she will forever be my Lizzie Bennet).
I feel like there are so many women in their early-to-mid-50s who would be great, which I hope is indicative of a shift in the longevity of an actress' career and an indication that there are more roles for middle-aged women - for me, Essie Davis, of course, springs to mind as a really fun choice for Gabrielle, Vera Farmiga I think would be great too, and a very Australian choice for me would be Kat Stewart (who just turned in a wildly good performance in the Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf revival on stage in Melbourne), and not to go even younger, but I feel like Sandra Huller would EAT, haha.
But yeah! I do kinda hope they lean into the fact that they've aged up the core cast and skew her older. I want these sorts of insane roles open to women who usually only get mother or grandmother roles! I want women in their 60s ad 70s to get to be hot and mean and deeply compelling while being ultimately unlikeable! All of these younger actresses would be amazing, but they need to keep cooking! I need a sexagenarian to have her moment, and for the internet to become obsessed with her! Gabrielle deserves that.

Updated list of the bitches in this system because Gods know we needed it, go!
• Fae- Actual owner of the body. Has not been fully “themself” since they were like 6 (when Harl got here). Always co-cons with someone because they can’t stand being out alone.  Doesn’t know or care what we do with their life. Terrified of people. Has left us alone for extended periods of time. If you think you’ve talked to them, there’s a 99% chance it was actually Claire, Amanda, or Becky.  Actually a very sweet kid, but very hurt. Will go to the end of the world for their friends. Can hold a grudge like nobody’s business. Paints themself as a bitch but is a softie. Their mom cannot tell the difference between them and Becky. Diabetic, to Nidia’s displeasure. Closet Gryffindor turned Slytherin in order to survive.
• Amanda – Our system’s “guard dog”/Head Bitch in Charge. Much more complicated than that. The real author of Fae’s thigh scars (barely visible now), and maybe the only reason we made it through high school. The little voice that says “kill everyone and blame it on me”. Zero concern for consequences for herself. Impulse control consists of “Jail is awful and Fae doesn’t deserve it”.  She’s over 30.
• Lisbeth (Sally)- Just…Sally. The other voice that wants to kill everyone but doesn’t because she actually thinks about the consequences of her actions. Max is technically her partner, but we don’t talk about that (you can ask). I think she’s 30-something, but might as well be Fae’s age.
• Claire- Possibly Fae’s projection of herself into different universes. She can be 6, 17, 24 and 35. Last name Constantine. From Liverpool. Awful accent. Please don’t call her Australian. Another closet Gryffindor turned Slytherin.  Most of Fae’s friends are actually hers. Has been Fae for longer than Fae has been Fae. Likes soccer and we’re sorry. Punk. Hella Punk. Also hella broke.
• Mara- Claire’s sister (maybe twin). Approach with caution. (One of the several sexual alters, can be the same ages as Claire) Responsible for most of Fae’s awful dating decisions.
• Valentina- Rarely comes out, but she’s apparently God? We don’t know. Seems like she knows everyone, though. She always looks 20-something, but we know she’s older.
• Nidia- Claire’s daughter and the pure incarnation of Fae’s ADHD. A Jedi. Weirdest kid EVER. Super compassionate. Wears heart on her sleeve.  Can be 5, 9, 16 and 21. Impulse control is 100% artificial, but existent. Can, like Amanda, drink up to 3 cans of Monster Energy Drink in a row without batting a lash. Will eat ALL THE CANDY. The reason we need to carry an extra insulin syringe with us most of the time. Pours fun dip and sweetarts into her drinks. The kind of kid child leashes were invented for.
• Hellena- Mara’s daughter. STAY AWAY. Evil incarnate. Abusive A.F. Can and will destroy you. In her 20’s
• Christine- Hell’s identical twin. Remember that girl in Mean Girls who wants to bake a cake out of sunshine and rainbows and smiles? Christine is that cake. Rarely out. Same age as Hell.
• Evey- Hell and Chris’ big sister. That one kid with the pink hair and lots of tattoos. Zero impulse control.  Always looks like a teenager for some reason (not over 25)
• Vlad- Agender/Genderqueer mystical creature of the forest. Valentina’s child. Awesome person in general. Permanently 17.
• Harley- Yup. THAT Harley. You know the drill. She’s actually the one who makes all the fun plans because she’s the one who has the energy for it. Gets along with everyone until she doesn’t. Can drink us all under the table. Can drink you under the table. Has been Fae for longer than Claire has been Fae. Was the first one here, so she has tattoo privileges. And dating privileges. And everything privileges, basically. If I say how old she is, I may not live to see another day. Fae’s real mum. Will take you to Petco on exam week to pet puppies. Will yell “doge!” out loud.
Pets every dog. Will steal Teddy from Max.
• Edward- Mr. Nigma, sir. Somehow has better makeup skills than all the girls here combined.  If his attitude was as nice as his eyebrows, he’d rule the world by now. EVERYTHING HAS QUESTION MARKS. Knows more than anyone.  Is actually a genius. Wastes his time trying to school the little ones (and trying to get Naya to use proper words).  Smug bastard. Probs 40-something.
• Cass- Also from comics. EVERYTHING IS YELLOW (yiyo). Doesn’t talk much, but is always fun to have around. Will make you watch animated movies and take you to Starbucks. Will also make you work out. Can be 5, 9, 18 and 25. Smol Cass is a fan of pokemon. If it’s yellow, it belongs to her.
• Naya- Cass’ child. Has her own language, featuring words like “kaijukata”, “pakato”, and “omashii” (“Kaiju attack”, an insult of her own invention, and her word for “mother”.) There are no sidewalks, only pedestrian lanes. Biggest Kaiju Enthusiast. Wants to be Mako Mori.
• M.J.- Has been here for as long as Harley has. Isn’t around as much. The difference between her and Claire is that you can actually understand what MJ says when she gets mad. Probs 25 forever.
• Danni- Amanda’s daughter. Will also fuck you up. Has the weirdest kinks.  23
• Miranda- Danni’s daughter. Don’t ask. Also a sexual alter. 21
• Martha- Miranda’s sister. Level-headed.  A psychiatrist. 21. Actually the most mature person in this head, along with Tári.
• Alice- Nidia’s daughter. Also a psychiatrist. Likes psychoanalyzing people. Type 1 bipolar. Thinks all Arkham inmates are humans and wants to help. Will probably end up as an Arkham Inmate herself. Age slides. Toddler Alice is the devil. Can be 5, 9, and 21
• Alyssa- Mara’s best friend. Take Alice out of wonderland and teach her ballet, then add a sprinkle of Luna Lovegood. Permanently 17-ish.
• Robin- Alice’s little sister. Wants to be Carrie Kelly when she grows up. Terrified of squirrels. Can be 5 and 18. Lesbiab. Lesebeb. Girls. Yes.
• Tári- Alice and Robin’s eldest sister. Autistic. Genius extraordinaire. Loves to talk to Eddie. Often one of them leaves the conversation feeling stupid (it isn’t Tári). Loves Legos. REALLY LOVES LEGOS. Forensic Anthropologist/ wants to be Bones when she grows up. Vegetarian. Can be 12/17/21.
• Frances- Harley’s kid. Don’t ask, this was super weird. Frances herself is super weird. She hears voices. The voices tell her to do things. She rarely listens. Actually super polite. Has “opal” hair. 18-20. We don’t really know.  If we’re gonna have a sub-system, it will probably be because of Frankie.
• Shilo- Shilo Wallace. Infected by her genetics. Her nightmares are the worst. Once made Amanda and Sally fight over a pair of combat boots just so she could get to keep them. Probably Becky’s best friend in here.
• Bellatrix- That one got here on her own. Over 50. Still looks great.
• Azula- also got here on her own.
• Cassiopeia- Bella’s biggest mistake. Best teacher ever. Resident hipster chick. Is actually here to keep a little group of alters from causing too much mayhem.  28.
• Ascella- Lesbian extraordinaire. Sees dead people. I’m not even kidding. Permanently 23.
• Jamie Moriarty- Another one who got here on her own. Our self confidence boosts and power trips. Will maybe kill someone. Better than you and is not afraid to let you know.  Fae’s teachers were terrified of her.
Everyone’s terrified of her; I don’t know who we think we’re kidding. 32.
• Lestat- Fae’s gay vampire boyfriend. Is rarely around anymore. Probably for the best. 260-ish years old. Prick.
• Lindsay - THE definitive Sexual alter. From a comic book oneshot. Amanda on steroids, but if Amanda knew how to socialize. Loves horror, movies, photography and monsters. 26.
• Becky - Called “morbid” for a reason. Disabled as all fuck. Autistic/ADHD, connective tissue disorder. A lawyer. Loves to argue. Jon Crane’s wife (at least here). 30ish. Always cold and always in pain. If we cancel plans, it’s most likely her fault and she’s sorry.
• Liliana - Necromancer. Big Titty Goth GF. We love and cherish her, alcoholism and all. Will never be over Jace and she knows it.
• Chandra - Pyromancer extraordinaire with severe ADHD. A lot like Fae in a lot of ways. Decidedly Pansexual, thank you very much. 25.
• Vraska - Ravnican to the core, but also a fantastic pirate. Great leader, good friend, fun to be around. Has the huskiest voice in the system. Has the worst flashbacks out of all of us. Can be 19 and 29. • Kari - Vraska and Jace’s kid. Hypermelanistic gorgon, telepath like her dad. Fun to be around. Can be 7, 12 and 25.
• Ral - Very very Izzet, and very very gay, and we love him for it. Very intelligent, good at fixing and making things with his hands. Confident, charismatic, and a workaholic. Tomik’s husband. Sometimes with Max. In his 40’s
• Tomik - Ral’s husband. Quiet, but very caring and polite. Also very smart and hard-working, always loves to learn new things and meet new people. 27-ish. Very gay, too. Makeup skills up there with Eddie’s.
• Teysa - Tomik’s boss. A Boss Ass Rich Bitch, and we love her lots for it. Very polite and interesting to be around. Could buy us all and our families ten times. Old, but looks to be in her early 30’s.
• Avacyn - An angel from Innistrad. Here to protect us. Really likes listening to old pop-punk and emo music with Max. Very sweet to be around, although she can be a little literal-minded.
• Olivia - A Vampire and a bitch. Liliana’s...ex? Something. A lot like Teysa, but much more fun-loving and impulsive.
• Nahiri - Doesn’t come out much. Stern but caring, very savvy, doesn’t take anyone’s crap. Can hold on to grudges like her life depends on it.
