On Itachi: Itachi caved under pressure, helped kill his entire family, and used genjutsu torture as a motivational tool on his baby brother. If he actually existed as a person and not as an element of a story, I wouldn't put him in charge of a puppy. Since he is an element of a story, it can be fun to put him in charge of other characters and watch his raging internal pathology go nyoom.

On your perception of events: If the existence of his canon character bothers you, that's fine. But Itachi's character isn't a problem I'm having. It appears to be a problem you're having.

On your behaviour: Unlike Uchiha Itachi from Naruto, I'm actually a person, and how you treat me is what matters. reading names of people who passed on their yarhzeit (the jewish date of someone's passing) is a really really common practice, as in every shul I have ever been to does it. mourning in judaism is very very scheduled and marked by time (after someone passes we mark shiva - 7 days, shloshim - 30 days, and then yarhzeit -which means year time, basically).

usually the names read are connected to the congregation i.e. family members of current members or deceased temple members.

i don't know when reading names at shul started or if all sects practice it (i've only been to reform and conservative) I know my uncle who is orthodox says that name on the exact date vs. my family where we say the name on the closest shabbos to the date but light a memorial candle on the exact date. but it's a way to collectively mourn and something i've always found a lot of comfort in when it's the yarhzeit of a family member.

Thank you for educating me, I really appreciate you taking the time to give such a detailed and helpful response! I was very aware of how important mourning and the dead are to judaism, and it was something I was prepared to encounter, but I wasn't ready for it being so... normalized, I guess, if that makes sense? As somebody who is really death positive, I love that we are encouraged to remember those who have passed, to respect and include them, and I appreciate that judaism is open about that and integrates that into important things like service.

The worst part about Moral OCD is how the anxiety from it stems from the potential of being a bad person, and the idea that if people knew your intrusive thoughts they would 'see you for who you really are' and turn against you. And because of society's horrific misunderstanding of what OCD actually is, it is entirely possible that people will turn against you, only reinforcing the OCD.

Like I'll never forget that girl on TikTok who spoke openly about her intrusive thoughts, specifically her fear of being racist, only to be called racist because of the thoughts and 'cancelled' because people think intrusive thoughts is the same as impulsive thoughts because TikTok slang has mutilated the term 'intrusive thoughts;. I hope she's doing alright because that would legitimately be my last thread.

I think 6 eps is enough to handle this subject with care, which I hope for because everything else was being written in a smart way. the show has mentioned twice that consent can be withdrawn at any point - in ep1 sex ed class and in ep5, so there's no way this is glossed over or diminished imo. yeah you're absolutely right in everything you just said anon, but tbh I've been burned SOOOOO many times by thai dramas, even by directors I loved, that I prefer to be on the cautious side rather than to have too high expectations & be so disappointed it turns me off the whole show & p'jojo altogether. but I'm really hoping that you're right bc it wouldn't make sense for the show to have another message than the one so clearly spelled since the beginning. anon i would LOVE to discuss tyler and mush !!!!! im very sorry this will probably be super long winded and incoherent. but u shouldve known what u signed up for with me tbh

FIRST i wanna say if ur looking for like. in depth analysis or many Moments of theirs i would very much recommend taking time to scroll through teex’s 2791 tag it is a joy and pretty thoroughly covers all of the stupidity from this season and i feel like they r like pioneering the 2791/smush insanity. that being said. allow me to talk my shit for a moment dkfsdjkfs.

i just think its Fascinating that in the past few years tyler has for sure like, turned down his usual vibe of constantly hamming it up for the camera and getting super flirty with all these guys etc etc. it is, i think, far less present these past few yrs than before. until mush got to this team lol. i feel like he’s really been brought back out of his shell (definitely also helped by the new coaching staff, his recovery from injuries, finding a new role on the team, their success etc, but) and we’re starting to see this silly tyler that we know and love again!!! the first thing i can really remember of them being particularly fun flirty and cringe together is the sandwich video (this is prolly wrong, but off the top of my head), but their chemistry has definitely been there all season. like even before we were exposed to this type of behavior, they’ve been on a line together All Season, even when they could not get a good third guy to fit on their line, deboer clearly knew there was something working between them. which like, we all saw the first few games of the season. obviously he’s correct lol. 

so they have good chemistry on the ice which is a super plus, and we’ve seen time and time again how close they are as people - mush being insane concerned about tyler’s injury, constantly saying they miss the other when they’re injured, the sandwich video, tyler “interviewing” mush with his drink, etc - and they just have a lot of casual affection for one another. but i have to say. my favorite thing is how stupid i feel for not realizing that they’d be an obvious pairing the second mush got traded here lmao. if you look at a long line of Tyler History he fits PERFECTLY. a feisty, huge, dark-haired left winger???? that is his MO, at this point (all 4 traits have applied to his like Closest or most notorious connections, but if u wanna take out “huge” we got marchy on the b’s, if u wanna talk ancient history we have tyler brown back when he was young young idk how feisty he was, but either way these are like. quintessential traits he loves). (this is a bit tyler heavy, on account of i just know more about him in general than mush, so sorry about that lol) but he very much just wants someone he can make fun of / laugh at, someone who would probably kill an opponent for him , and someone who is a huge cringe loser who will do anything to make him laugh. and mason for suuuuure checks off all those boxes and more. and if that is what we needed to bring back the silly, god bless mush, because he succeeded and Also made me adore HIM at the same time. despite all his mess and penalty minutes fjldsfklds

our flag means death kind of floors me because it's one of the very few times i see a gay love story depicted in a universal way as exactly what it is: a love story. there's no tragic backdrop of like, 'oh my god we have to reckon with the fact that we like men' or 'oh god what about the persecution we'll face for being gay.' there's no breakup because one person is ashamed of being gay. it's just treated the way every single heterosexual romance has been treated for decades: a story about a growing love and the conflicts and tensions that arise in any relationship. its a star-crossed lovers story, not a "gay" love story specifically. i mean, it is gay, but its not a defining feature. them being men is an unspectacular fact that is as mundane and common in the OMFD universe as there being ships in the story. if it were to treat it like its some tragic gay romance, it would not only be hackneyed but also imply that it's some kind of "special" love that is not love as we understand it anywhere else -- when it IS like love as we understand it anywhere else

HOW TO BE BETTER THIS SCHOOL YEAR ;

TAKE ADVANTAGE. take advantage of extra credit opportunities, make sure to advocate for urself and take advantage in any way that u can. by simply doing ur homework you'll have a much better grade in the overall class which gives u wiggle room to make a mistake. but if ur slacking off on ur homework, ignoring extra credit opportunities AND doing bad on tests then ur basically setting urself up for failure. and by doing the opposite then ur setting urself up for success.

something i've noticed (and im guilty of this too sometimes) is that i spend so much time making my notes aesthetically pleasing that i forget to actually go over them which defeats the whole purpose of notes. theres nothing wrong with having fun and creative adorable notes that spark joy and happiness but PLEASE actually use them, trust me you'll love them more…💬🎀

furthermore understand that getting good grades isn't as daunting and difficult as u may have imagined. just remember to always do ur homework, take advantage of extra credit, projects are an easy test grade, and get things done as fast as u possibly can.

FIND WAYS TO STAY MOTIVATED ;

the best way to stay motivated is through ROMANTICIZATION. when u learn to enjoy going to school, your going to be motivated to do well in school. because school is so IMPORTANT not only for ur education but also ur future. so take school seriously. and if u wanna become an academic weapon for the long term the best thing u can do is learn to make the best of, and enjoy it. some ways to romanticize school include ->

♡ create a school playlist that embodies the school vibes that u wanna have : i have lots of new jeans in my school playlist : i rly like the songs cookie, ditto and hurt for when im at school

♡ creating a study blog or study group to hold urself accountable in a fun and healthy way

♡ ur appearance : if u go to a school where u dont have to wear uniforms, i strongly recommend getting dressed and getting ready meticulously bcuz when u look good, u feel good, and therefore u perform well. if u do wear uniform, wear accessories or hairstyles that make u feel and look pretty. i wear leg warmers with my school uniform and my signature is hair clips and barrettes.

♡ read at school : i always walk around with a book bcuz i like to read a lot but if reading isnt ur thing, listen to a podcast about something that interests u (i rly like true crime)

♡ take pride in ur notes : invest in cute stationary! i swear, sometimes i dont feel like studying but since my stationary is super cute and pink i get motivated to study just by looking at it lol. invest in quality stationary that u love and make ur notes look pleasing to you, and also effective. effective + aesthetically pleasing.

♡ doing homework/studying in the library : or at least changing the scenery and location that u do ur homework from time to time. do yk how boring it is to do work in the same place every single day? give urself a break from the places u see all the time and spend time studying or doing homework outside of ur home. in a cafe or in the library, inside or outside, just change the scenery a bit

♡ start a video diary : i started a little video diary with my friends so that we can remember our school memories. i just think its rly cute and a great way to bond with ur friends, make memories, and romanticize school.

try and formulate a PASSION for learning as a way to cultivate the school romanticization attitude. be passionate to learn and be an academic weapon…💬🎀

CHANGE UP ROUTINES ;

in my next point i talk about the importance of routines but its also important to change little things about ur routine. dont go and change the whole structure of ur school routine but make sure to add little changes to spice things up and not keep urself like a hamster on a wheel. i find when i do this i just feel a lot better and its easier to romanticize.

MAKE A REGIMEN ;

make a pretty basic routine to stick to, to make sure that u balance school and personal life. having a routine can make falling into line and following through with tasks a lot easier. its easier to do things personally when u MICROMANAGE urself. at least from my own personal experience.

ABOUT STUDYING ;

every single day study (at least for a little bit) ofc this will vary depending on ur personal schedule but the goal is to do a little bit of studying everyday, and if that isnt possible, designating 3 days a week to a thorough studying session.

the way that i divide my time with a study session is 40 minutes of work time and 20 minutes of downtime. during the 40 minutes of work time u need to LOCK IN. lock in on whatever assignment needs to be complete or lock in on whatever material it is that ur studying. ofc this'll differ between all subjects but dont study all subjects in one night!! thats ambitious, but i find it'll just burn u out so stick to studying for 2-3 subjects max.

HOW TO STUDY WITHOUT BURNING URSELF OUT ;

♡ get off ur device. literally put the phone down. 9 times out of 10 the burn out that ur feeling is just the dopamine detox and laziness

arguably, the most important aspect to prevent burn out is ENERGY management. when ur burnt out u can literally feel ur energy tank on zero, so regardless of all the study techniques, however effective they may be, if u can't even muster up the energy to do them then they're useless…💬🎀

♡ get PRODUCTIVE rest. what is productive rest? scrolling endlessly on tiktok is NOT productive rest. productive rest is actually letting ur mind and body REST. like, taking a nap, indulging in self care, or whatever relaxes u.

STAY ORGANIZED ;

find a tool and stay ORGANIZED. i personally use notion. and on my school notion i create a space for me to write my own notes, a calendar to put important academic dates, resources like passwords and logins, and a to-do list where i can put down some of my assignments. keeping everything organized is so so important. its non digital as well, make sure to keep ur desktop space organized, ur supplies and physical notes organized also. the more organized the better.
