idk y’all should treat fat men better. and i don’t mean mildly chubby guys i mean honest-to-god love-handles-and-double-chins fat guys. stop calling them shit like discord mods or gross weebs or nasty creeps or neckbeards or that they’re stinky or sweaty or beer bellied or whatever else. fatphobia isn’t cute, even repackaged in a neat little box of “ew men”

Day 5:
Disclaimer: I'm not fatphobic I think thicker people are soooo beautiful and sexy infact I've noticed it's my preference a lot of times to find a chubby cuddly partner. this Is literally just for ME and ME ALONE. I hate that IM fat.
I want to lose weight because every time I can't see myself I feel like I'm tiny like so thin and cute . And then I catch a glimpse of my hands or see a mirror and it's like looking at this weird fat body double of me and it genuinely makes me want to crawl out of my skin.

My friend @somnus-apnoea commissioned a piece for Fat Liberation Month. I've wanted to contribute to FL month but haven't had any ideas, so this was great fun!

I guess what gets me about fatphobia is seeing someone literally recovering from addiction and gaining weight being framed as a bad thing because a substance use problem that is eating you from the inside out is preferable so long as you are twenty pounds lighter.
It has never been about people's health.

Fat disabled people: I love you and you are valuable, you deserve to be heard and taken seriously by medical professionals without having to lose weight.

hey, fat people. you don't need a reason to be fat. you don't need to make excuses for your body. don't apologize for taking up space. i love you.

There's two wolves inside you
One of them wants to see as much fanart where Aziraphale is round and big and chubby and soft
The other one doesn't know what to make of it, since Michael is objectively not even that big, but people view his chub and exaggerate it as bigger than it actually is and it makes you feel bad for actually fat individuals and how they are perceived by society
And it's a constant struggle

When I say that fat people can't even post photos of ourselves without dealing with fatphobic bullshit, I mean stuff like seeing a selfie of a fat person on Tumblr and then this is the first reply on the post:
Tumblr media
Just a normal selfie with no caption about weight at all, but that's apparently too much fat representation for this bigoted world to allow. And this is the tamest example I can give you.
A fat person posting a selfie online will often receive death threats, harassment, stalking, slurs, unsolicited weight loss "advice," fake "concern" about health because a fatphobe assumed the fat stranger's medical history, fatphobes stealing their photo to repost and mock with their friends, thinspo people stealing their photo to repost and throw up to with their friends, fat fetishists stealing their photo to repost and get off to with their friends, scammers stealing their photo to repost and use as a weight loss scam, I could go on.
Fat people deserve representation.
That should not be a controversial statement. How are people, oftentimes "progressive" people no less, debating over whether an oppressed group deserves to simply take and post photos of themselves?
If you actually believe in equity, equality, and justice, then stop harassing fat people for simply existing in the same world as you.
