It's not hyperbole.

Musk's maternal grandfather, Joshua Haldeman, was a Nazi-sympathizer who was imprisoned in Canada during World War II for fascist propaganda. After the National Party came to power in South Africa and instituted apartheid, he moved to that country to wallow in racism. Haldeman owned a 20 room house and private plane in Canada and brought his wealth to apartheid South Africa.

Musk's father was also wealthy. The young Elon led a spoiled privileged life.

Elon left South Africa just after high school when black majority rule began to look like a real possibility there. He has made and retweeted anti-Semitic comments. We've all seen his Hitler salute (Hitlergruß) at the inauguration. His far right sympathies are in plain view.
