Hitler friendly Elon Musk is one of the four members of the "PayPal Mafia" who all have roots in apartheid South Africa.
[T]he world’s richest man insisted he wasn’t trying to be a Nazi, speculation inevitably focused on whether his roots in apartheid-era South Africa offered an insight. [ ... ] Musk is part of the “PayPal mafia” of libertarian billionaires with roots in South Africa under white rule now hugely influential in the US tech industry and politics. They include Peter Thiel, the German-born billionaire venture capitalist and PayPal cofounder, who was educated in a southern African city in the 1970s where Hitler was still openly venerated. Thiel, a major donor to Trump’s campaign, has been critical of welfare programs and women being permitted to vote as undermining capitalism. A 2021 biography of Thiel, called The Contrarian, alleged that as a student at Stanford he defended apartheid as “economically sound”. David Sacks, formerly PayPal’s chief operating officer and now a leading fundraiser for Trump, was born in Cape Town and grew up within the South African diaspora after his family moved to the US when he was young. A fourth member of the mafia, Roelof Botha, the grandson of the apartheid regime’s last foreign minister, Pik Botha, and former PayPal CFO, has kept a lower political profile but remains close to Musk.
Libertarian extremists with apartheid-era mindsets are hardly a coincidence. Musk is the most politically ambitious of the quartet.
Some draw a straight line between Musk’s formative years atop a complex system of racial hierarchy as a white male, in a country increasingly at war with itself as the South African government became ever more repressive as resistance to apartheid grew, and the man we see at Trump’s side today. The week before the inauguration, Steve Bannon, Trump’s former adviser, described white South Africans as the “most racist people on earth”, questioned their involvement in US politics and said Musk was a malign influence who should go back to the country of his birth.
Even Steve Bannon, of all people, considers Musk to be a racist.
Musk's grandfather was a Canadian fascist who moved to South Africa soon after the pro-apartheid National Party came to power.
But for those looking to join dots, there is fodder from Musk’s early life with a neo-Nazi grandfather who moved from Canada to South Africa because he liked the idea of apartheid through his high school education in a system infused with the ideology of white supremacy. Musk’s formative years in the 1980s came amid a cauldron of rebellion in the Black townships which drew a state of emergency and a bloody crackdown by the state. Some whites fled the country. Others marched with the neo-Nazi Afrikaner Resistance Movement against any weakening of apartheid. The South Africa into which Musk was born in 1971, and to which Thiel moved as a child from Germany, was led by a prime minister, John Vorster, who had been a general in a fascist militia three decades earlier that allied itself with Hitler.
The expression "Christian nationalism" (sounds familiar?) is deeply embedded in apartheid South Africa.
Vorster made no secret of his sympathy for Nazi, or National Socialist, ideology which he compared to the Afrikaner political philosophy of Christian nationalism. “We stand for Christian nationalism which is an ally of National Socialism,” he said in 1942. “You can call this anti-democratic principle dictatorship if you wish. In Italy it is called ‘Fascism’, in Germany ‘German National Socialism’ and in South Africa ‘Christian nationalism’.”
In the apartheid era, "Christian national education" was policy in South Africa. Ron DeSantis probably smiles when thinking of that.
Nazism may have been defeated in Europe but Christian nationalism was alive and kicking in South Africa under Vorster, with its own brand of racial classification and stratification justified by the need to keep the “swart gevaar”, or black danger, at bay. In schools, Christian nationalist education sought to forge a South African identity around a singular version of the country’s history. Musk and Thiel were taught that the Afrikaner, mostly the descendants of Dutch colonisers, was the real victim of South Africa’s strife whether at the hands of grasping British imperialists or treacherous Zulu chiefs.
Just to clarify, the early Dutch settlers made up less than two-thirds of Afrikaners. A very large portion were Germans and French Huguenots. This doesn't count the English speakers who arrived over a century later.
Schooling, like much else, was segregated by race for most of the apartheid era and, on paper at least, white pupils across South Africa were subject to the same Christian nationalist education. But white society was itself divided and the historical narrative embraced in Afrikaans-speaking schools could often became the basis for an implicit rejection of apartheid philosophy in English-speaking ones.
It should be pointed out that Musk was sent to a public school which charged tuition – sounds like an oxymoron. In practical terms, only the well off (i.e. whites and "honorary whites") could afford to attend at the time.
Phillip Van Niekerk, former editor of the leading anti-apartheid Mail and Guardian newspaper in Johannesburg, had Afrikaner parents but attended an English-speaking school. He recalled that the official version of history did little to engender support for the apartheid system among a lot of English speakers even if they benefited from it and did little to challenge it. “We hated the National party government. Even our teachers were kind of hostile. It was seen almost like an imposition. Yet you imbibe things through the culture. The truth is we didn’t see Black people quite as equals. We didn’t think about it,” he said.
Musk's pal Peter Thiel was born in Germany but spent much of his childhood in what was known as South West Africa – an illegally held colony of South Africa (now Namibia).
South West Africa had been a German colony until the end of the first world war and Thiel lived for a time in the city of Swakopmund, where he attended a German-language school while his father worked at a nearby uranium mine. At that time, Swakopmund was notorious for its continued glorification of Nazism, including celebrating Hitler’s birthday. In 1976, the New York Times reported that some people in the town continued to greet each other with “Heil Hitler” and to give the Nazi salute. Van Niekerk visited Swakopmund during South African rule. “I was there in the 1980s and you could walk into a curio shop and buy mugs with Nazi swastikas on them. If you’re German and you’re in Swakopmund in the 1970s, which is when Thiel was there, you’re part of that community,” he said.
Back to Elon...
Musk’s father, Errol, was also in the mining business among other interests. He once boasted that his stake in Zambian emerald mines made him “so much money we couldn’t even close our safe”. Musk’s mother, Maye, has said the family owned two homes, a plane, a yacht and a handful of luxury cars. Errol Musk has said that he opposed apartheid and joined the Progressive Federal party but then left because he didn’t like its demand for one person, one vote, and instead favored a more gradual reform with separate parliaments for different races. That was the liberal position inside the Musk family. Musk’s maternal grandfather, Joshua Haldeman, moved from Canada to South Africa in 1950 because he liked the newly elected apartheid government. In the 1930s, Haldeman was the Canadian leader of a fringe political movement originating in the US, Technocracy Incorporated, that advocated abolishing democracy in favor of government by elite technicians but which took on overtones of fascism with its uniforms and salutes. The Canadian government banned Technocracy Incorporated during the second world war as a threat to the country’s security in part for its opposition to fighting Hitler. Haldeman was charged with publishing documents opposing the war and sent to prison for two months. After the war, Haldeman led a separate political party that among other things promoted the antisemitic forgery the Protocols of the Elders of Zion. When that went nowhere, he moved to South Africa because he said he liked the core National party philosophy of Christian nationalism that Vorster likened to Nazism.
So Musk's maternal grandfather spent time in a Canadian prison for his pro-Nazi propaganda during World War II.
Elon moved to Canada after high school to avoid the draft in South Africa at a time the end of white minority rule was looking realistic.
Musk left South Africa in 1988 in the midst of this ferment, two years before FW de Klerk carved out a path to freedom by releasing Nelson Mandela. Had he stayed, Musk faced being conscripted into the military for two years, an obligatory service for white men, that could well have meant fighting in the “border war” in Angola and Namibia or being sent to put down Black protests in the townships. Instead, Musk took Canadian citizenship through his mother and moved to Ontario. Van Niekerk said that, whether he wants to admit it or not, Musk also took a part of South Africa with him. “We all [white South Africans], by the very nature of our privileges and our place in the racial hierarchy, grew up believing we were the master race, even if we didn’t actively think about it,” he said.
If you're interested in the MAGA broligarch connection to apartheid, the Financial Times (archived) had an article about this several months ago. Excerpts...
So what connects these men’s southern African backgrounds with Maga today? Southern Africa under apartheid offered an extreme version of some of the main themes of American life today. First, there was tremendous inequality. The mine where Thiel’s father worked was “known for conditions not far removed from indentured servitude”, writes Thiel’s biographer Max Chafkin. “White managers, like the Thiels, had access to a brand-new medical and dental centre in Swakopmund and membership in the company country club.” The mine’s black migrant workers lived in work camps. To whites of a certain mindset, this inequality wasn’t due to apartheid. They thought it was inscribed in nature. Certain people were equipped to succeed in capitalism, while others weren’t. That was simply the way it was, and it was pointless to try to mess with nature. Two of Thiel’s contemporaries at Stanford in the 1980s recall him telling them that apartheid “works” and was “economically sound”. His spokesman has denied that he ever supported apartheid.
[ ... ] If you’re a libertarian who believes that inequality is natural and lives in fear of race war, you will be drawn towards a certain type of American politics. You certainly won’t want government or institutions to try to intervene against racism. In 1995, a year after the ANC began attempting that in South Africa, Thiel and Sacks, who met at Stanford, published The Diversity Myth in the US. It’s a well-written defence of “western civilisation” against “multiculturalism” (or what the right now calls “woke”), written by two white twentysomethings who are sure racism isn’t the problem. Indeed, they explain: “There are almost no real racists . . . in America’s younger generation.” Three decades later, this duo and Musk, with whom they united in Silicon Valley’s “PayPal mafia”, are backing a white Republican ticket that peddles made-up stories about Black immigrants from Haiti eating pets.
MAGA apologists who post pictures of Hilary Clinton or Bernie Sanders waving at supporters claim that Musk was doing the same thing that they were. But Hillary and Bernie certainly don't have the racist Nazi personal histories which Elon Musk and his PayPal buddies have. Context über alles.
BONUS: The graphic from the FT article...
This post got way long. 😵💫 There was just a lot of material – with some fact checking necessary for the additional interweaving bits.

Techno Fascist mega-state advocated by Musk's grandfather Joshua Norman Haldeman encompasses North America from Greenland to Panama and beyond (into South America).
All information from here. (Same info below the cut)
A fantastic and extremely rare 1940 map depicting the geopolitical program of Technocracy, Incorporated, at the time an influential organization fueled by Depression-era anxiety, quack economics, isolationism and more than a soupcon of Fascism.
The map envisions much of the Americas and eastern Pacific basin as merged into a single “Technate of America”, to be ruled by a technically skilled, empirically-driven, non-partisan elite. The Technate is shown stretching from Greenland west to the International Date Line and south to encompass the Caribbean and parts of Columbia, Venezuela and the Guyanas. Its territory is colored red—the semi-official color of the Technocracy movement, also seen on its logo—and small, circular symbols indicate “Defense Bases” at its outer boundaries, as far afield as Attu; Pago Pago; Cape Farewell, Newfoundland; and Georgetown, Guyana.
The map is extraordinarily rare: I am aware of but one institutional holding and find no record of another having been offered for sale.
Technocracy Incorporated
The Technocracy movement had its brief heyday in the 1930s, its leading proponent engineer Howard Scott (1890-1970) and his Technocracy Incorporated, founded in 1933. The movement was ideologically somewhat diverse and fractious, but Scott’s version was fueled by the Great Depression and the crisis of capitalism, quack economics, post-First-World-War isolationism, and an infatuation with Fascist form and ritual. At the core of its ideology was a rejection of the “price system” underlying the global economy, in which money as a medium of exchange determines the value of goods and services and financial considerations are fundamental to all economic decision making. Citing the Depression as Exhibit A, movement adherents viewed this system as inherently unsustainable and predicted a total system collapse no later than 1940.
Technocracy Inc.’s prescriptive program had economic, political and geopolitical elements. At the core was a shift from the price system to what Scott called “an energy theory of value”, in which goods and services were to be valued based not on money but in terms of the energy inputs required to produce them. This in turn would necessitate the abandonment of democracy and the embrace of a technocracy—government by an unelected, technically skilled, empirically-driven elite with the expertise necessary to determine values and make rational resource-allocation decisions. The outward manifestations of this authoritarian outlook had a distinctly Fascist flavor: Technocracy Inc. members wore a uniform of double-breasted suit, gray shirt, and blue tie, with the red Technocracy logo worn on the lapel; drove gray-painted cars; and saluted one another in public.
As demonstrated by the map offered here, Technocracy, Inc.’s geopolitical program was simultaneously expansionist and isolationist. It called for a “Technate” consisting of a union of the nations of North America, Central America, the Caribbean and northeastern Pacific, along with the northern tier of South America. The rationale was that “the natural resources and the natural boundaries of this area make it an independent, self-sustaining geographical unit.” (The Technocrat, vol. 3 no. 4 (Sept. 1937), p. 3) In keeping with Technocracy Inc.’s authoritarian tendencies, the Technate would ensure its security by enacting a “Continental integration and mobilization”, and “complete conscription of men, materials, machines, and wealth by the government of the United States”, which were to be “placed before all other objectives of the American peoples” (The Technocrat, vol. 9 no. 3 (Apr. 1941).
Key to this project was the construction of a chain of far-flung “defense bases” along the Technate’s borders, as shown on the Technate of America map offered here. Behind these the Technate would be entirely secure, its economy “self-sustaining” and independent of global trade, and its defenses sufficient to deter would-be invaders. As such, it would have no need to become involved in the conflicts of either Europe or Asia.
“Opposition to American entry into the wars raging outside our Area is a keystone of Technocracy’s current basic policy. Lest that policy be mis- construed by uninformed persons in the public, Technocracy points out that this position is not held on the basis of humanitarian or pacifist tenets. America is worth fighting for! But we need fight for America only on American terms and from our own Continental defenses. Competent strategy will keep war out of our Area.” (Ibid.)
As with the broader isolationist movement, Technocracy, Inc. had its legs cut out from under it by the attack on Pearl Harbor, the subsequent entry of the United States into the Second World War, and the nation’s near-total mobilization to fight the good fight against Fascism, all within a democratic, capitalist framework. Nevertheless, the organization survives to this day, with a web site, membership and online meetings.
In all, an extremely rare and interesting artifact of this quirky-but-influential Depression-era intellectual and political movement.

The privileged hyperactive adult simulation is a real danger for every democracy because it has the means and the possibilities as well as the will.
Nobody should underestimate that!

The apple doesn't fall far from the tree. Somehow it fits here.
Well, if that's not heredity:
Joshua N. Haldeman
Haldeman is the maternal grandfather of Elon Musk.
Haldeman was a supporter of South Africa's apartheid policies and the ruling National Party of South Africa. He told a reporter for the extremist newspaper Die Transvaler, which was a Nazi tool in South Africa during World War II, ‘Rather than keeping me out, the attitude of the government of South Africa had the opposite effect – it encouraged me to come here and settle here.’ In 1951, he wrote an article for the Saskatchewan newspaper Regina Leader-Post about South Africa, in which he defended apartheid and wrote about black South Africans: ‘The natives are very primitive and should not be taken seriously... Some are quite clever at routine jobs, but the best of them cannot be trusted.’ -Post, in which he defended apartheid and wrote about black South Africans: ‘The natives are very primitive and should not be taken seriously... Some are quite adept at routine jobs, but the best of them cannot be trusted with responsibility and will abuse authority. The present government of South Africa knows how to handle the native question.’
Weeks after the Sharpeville massacre of 21 March 1960, Haldeman self-published ‘The International Conspiracy to Establish a World Dictatorship and the Menace to South Africa’, a 42-page response to the massacre. The United Nations passed Resolution 134, the first official condemnation of apartheid by the organisation and the beginning of decades of diplomatic isolation. Later, Haldeman self-published a second book in which he again claimed international conspiracies: The International Conspiracy in Health, in which he questioned the fluoridation, vaccinations and health insurance.

Elon Musk’s Grandfather Joshua Haldeman: A Legacy of Far-Right Ideologies and Racist Rhetoric
Joshua Norman Haldeman, Elon Musk’s maternal grandfather, was a chiropractor and political activist whose controversial affiliations and ideologies have drawn scrutiny. Haldeman’s life was marked by his involvement in far-right movements, the promotion of racist and antisemitic rhetoric, and support for apartheid in South Africa. His actions and beliefs provide insight into the ideological context of the Musk family’s history.
Affiliation with Technocracy Incorporated
In the late 1930s, Haldeman joined Technocracy Incorporated, a movement advocating governance by technical experts. While the organization claimed to focus on efficiency and scientific management, it was banned in Canada during World War II for being deemed subversive. Haldeman was arrested in Vancouver in 1940 for distributing materials seen as disloyal to the monarchy.
Leadership in the Social Credit Party
By the 1940s, Haldeman became a leader in the Social Credit Party of Saskatchewan, known for its anti-communist stance and controversial monetary policies. During this time, he defended the publication of the widely debunked antisemitic text The Protocols of the Elders of Zion, claiming it was relevant to global events. He also promoted the idea of an “International Conspiracy” involving Jewish bankers and warned against the “hordes of Coloured people” allegedly threatening white civilization.
Support for Apartheid in South Africa
In 1950, Haldeman moved his family to apartheid-era South Africa, praising the country’s racial segregation policies. In a 1951 interview, he described Black South Africans as “primitive” and unfit for responsibility, voicing support for the apartheid government’s handling of racial issues. He believed South Africa was at the forefront of defending “White Christian Civilization.”
Conspiracy Theories and Publications
Later in life, Haldeman authored self-published books that delved into conspiracy theories. His works, including The International Conspiracy to Establish a World Dictatorship and the Menace to South Africa, alleged a global plot against white Christian values. He also criticized public health measures such as vaccination and fluoridation, viewing them as tools of a supposed conspiracy.
The Legacy of Joshua Haldeman
While Elon Musk’s views and achievements stand apart from his grandfather’s ideologies, the shadow of Haldeman’s far-right associations and rhetoric looms over the Musk family history. Understanding this legacy adds depth to discussions about the societal and ideological influences on one of today’s most influential tech figures.

I am making no accusations nor am I convinced one way or the other of Trump’s motivation regarding the Gulf of America, Panama Canal, Greenland and Canada but I have studied UN Agenda 21, Technocracy and Mega Regions for a long time (20 years) and Trump’s proposals sent up a red flag to me. The plan matches up way too well with plans that were created as far back as the 1930’s. So we need to at least keep this information in our memory bank and stay alert.
Is Trump Pursuing Technocracy’s Dream To Create The Great American Technate? from Patrick Wood - The map at the top of this article is from 1934. The NASCO map (a bit further down) has also been around for years. Is the NASCO map why Gates is buying up so much land? It would be interesting to see where Gates land is located in correlation to the proposed 584K acres that would need to be taken to create the NASCO layout. Is this why Gates wanted to meet with Trump? Also, Elon Musk’s maternal grandfather was one of the original group of Technocrats (Technocracy) from the 1930’s. He believed we should do away with all politicans and replace them with technocracy run by scientists and engineers. His name was Joshua Haldeman (born in America, moved to Canada -where he was no longer welcome by the Canadian government - then to South Africa). Just sayin’ - I am not sold on anything at this point but I think we all need to look at both sides of the coin and be alert - Is someone feeding Trump a trojan horse? Be sure to see my ending commentary on “the other side of the coin.” ARTICLE

On the other side of the coin….I attended a call from DC with Trump nominee Russell Vought on Thursday afternoon. Russell Vought is President Trump’s nominee for director of the Office of Management and Budget in his second presidential term. He talked a lot of about the economy, budget and taxes. But he strongly stressed that Trump’s move to get back the Panama Canal and his moves toward Greenland and Canada is not to create a North American Union or a One World Government. He said it was Trump’s plan to increase and strengthen American sovereignty not the opposite. He took a lot of time to discuss the strategy. I thought this call was very timely. Taking all of this into consideration we need to look at this from both sides and remain vigilant. Do not go blindly into the night.

Elon's grandfather was actually much much worse than you or most people know.
Trigger warnings:
Racism
Antisemitism
Nazism
Technocracy
Fascism
Neo-Nazism
Before we begin you're going to need this: https://removepaywalls.com/
Joshua Norman Haldeman, the maternal grandfather of Elon Musk, has often been spoken of very positively by his grand son and in ways others would Magellan or characters like Indiana Jones. However, the truth is Elon's grandfather that he loves so much didn't just move to apartheid South Africa because he thought it was amazing, but because he saw the natives as inherently inferior beings and desired to ostensibly have slaves. Here are some exerpes from an interview he did [Archived here].
While still living in Canada, Haldeman was part of a group called "Technocracy Incorporated" which was started in the 30s and believed the entire world should be run by a totalitarian group of North American engineers and scientists who will solve all of the world's problems. Sound familiar yet?
According to the Buffalo NY newspaper in 1942 they was banned in Canada for being a "subversive group dedicated to overthrowing the government" and seemed to be an expressly fascist movement with members wearing gray uniforms, matching gray cars, use of an ancient alchemical symbol as an emblem, and a "special salute" used to greet one another.
For those bad at math 1942-10=1932 the year Hitler because vice president of Germany and the year before he became chancellor.
Haldeman is known to have published at least 2 books after moving to South Africa those being "The International Conspiracy to Establish a World Dictatorship and the Menace to South Africa" and "The International Conspiracy in Health". These books are sometimes referred to as "the nazinomicons" because until recently the only place known to have a copy was the radical literature department of a US college. By now you should be able to guess where this is going.
That's right, it's spineless antisemitism!
This man died when Elon was 3. However, his daughter, Elon's mother, is suspiciously supportive of Ukraine, so I think it's safe to throw the baby out with the bathwater on this one. She didn't have to tell Elon all about her nazi dad and mold her son into her father's ideal grandchild but she did so fuck all four of them, dad included the weird stepdaughter marrying freak.
Do not let them erase this. Do not let them tell you he meant "my heart goes out for you."
This man is the grandson of a Canadian Nazi sympathizer who moved to South Africa BECAUSE he thought the apartheid was just the coolest.
He has a gaggle of kids specifically because he believes his genes are superior and need to be spread to improve humanity.
He has thrown his support behind the neonazi party in Germany and the far right party in the UK, not to mention how far he's wormed up the ass of the Republican party.
He threw two sieg heil salutes back to back at the inauguration of the president of the United States and is trying to scrub the evidence off the internet.
Elon Reeve Musk is a fucking Nazi.
