In 1991 when people in Elkhorn, Wisconsin started seeing a large, wolf-like creature by the side of Bray Road, Linda Godfrey started asking around. She found out multiple witnesses had already reported their encounters to the County Animal Control.
When Godfrey went to talk to the control officer, he pulled out a file labeled 'werewolf'.
I just think about that sometimes.

Amazing! ZeniMax Online Studios have just honored the passionate fanartists they stole designs from without permission by naming characters in the Elder Scrolls universe after them! LadyNerevar, the artist whose design for Queen Alessia was appropriated in the Greymoor DLC, has been immortalized through the character of Indoril Nerevar, Hortator and peacekeeper of the First Council of Morrowind! In a more subtle tribute, the artist whose Sotha Sil design was used for the Crown Store's Mercymother tattoo set relan-daevath's name was altered to create Brelan Neloren, an NPC in the Elder Scrolls Online: Morrowind DLC! We tip our hats to ZeniMax for their commitment to making amends, and congratulate these artists for having their names forever etched into the Elder Scrolls!

So I was gonna wait until the video would be released on Youtube, but I think it might be a Nebula exclusive, so y'all will just have to trust me.
There's this Youtuber/Nebula guy named RealLifeLore who does geopolitical analysis stuff. I had already stopped watching a lot of his stuff purely for the petty reason that he often puts emphasis on words and phrases in a weird way, but I had noticed he had done some videos analyzing and summarizing what's been going on in Israel/Gaza/Lebanon/etc. so I started rewatching. And his analysis is actually relatively fair, often stating the claims of both sides and then whether or not those claims hold up. Sometimes this means he'll bring up crank ideas that I feel are implausible from what I know (there's a bit in the video I'm about to talk about where he talks about the Hannibal Directive aka whether or not the IDF intentionally tried to kill hostages being kidnapped so they couldn't be taken hostage, which from what I've heard isn't actually supported by anything but seems to be believed by a lot of people who think Israelis are ontologically evil).
Anyways, he did a video entitled "The October 7th Attacks" which is a comprehensive analysis of, well, the October 7th attacks, which I thought was pretty good (aside from giving the Hannibal Directive credibility). However, it brought to a head an issue that's been boiling up for a while for me, that being that RealLifeLore's pronunciation of Hebrew words is so bad it is legitimately offensive.
"Simchat Torah" as "Sim CHAT Torah" (this one is actually inexcusable, if you've done so much research you should know how Hebrew speakers pronounced a "ch" RealLifeLore)
"Sukkot" as "Su-cot" (ok that one isn't that bad)
"Yom Kippur" as "Yom Ki-purr" (that one also isn't terrible)
"Zikim" as "Zik'em" (oddly enough, I think he pronounced it correctly the first and third times and only did it weird on his second mention)
"Yiftach" as "Yif-tatch"
"Re'im" as "Ray-im"
"Odaya" as "Odie-a"
"Kibbutzim and Moshavim" as "Kibbutzem and Moshavem" (OK I might be overly pedantic here)
"Be'eri" as "Be'rry" (this was a problem of cadence not pronunciation per se)
Anyways, that's from the first 16 minutes, I may do more later

The Tuatha Dé Danann are described as a supernatural race, much like idealized humans, who are immune from ageing and sickness, and who have powers of magic. The powers most often attributed to the Tuath Dé are control over the weather and the elements, and the ability to shapeshift themselves and other things. They are also said to control the fertility of the land; the tale De Gabáil in t-Sída says the first Gaels had to establish friendship with the Tuath Dé before they could raise crops and herds.

space sweepers but they're delivery people and are at no point on screen through the entire movie
#fantasy high#riz gukgak#kristen applebees#gorgug thistlespring#adaine abernant#fabian seacaster#figueroth faeth#the bad kids#half tempted to say these names are forum handles they use so much it pretty much became their professional names lol#I keep them teenagers bc its funnier that way#no real lore I just like drawing this. but I do think abt how theyre all weirdos too also bc thats funny to me#riz is a huge conspiracyhead who does everything by hands. he has a casio fx-570 in mint condition. nobody knows how he's maintaining it#he is nonetheless Really Good at his job. which somewhat tracks bc it's a job that requires keeping up with interstation conflicts#and new policies and an obsessive amount of planning. but he is Too Good at it. and also he dresses like that#kristen has the atomic engine that theoretically lets her unmake and remake matters with her mind. but it consumes a huge amount#of energy so it's mostly useless. she's still a cult survivor also#gorgug lives his entire life on a ship with his parents who quit a cushy deal maintaining a space station bc he wouldn't be allowed on#the low gravity let him grow very tall but also his oxygen saturation is pretty bad so he's got breathing support#fig is a robot who just found out she's a robot like two months ago. she's been assuming everyone's a robot like her and she's been feeling#very betrayed by her mom lying about that part. she's on a body mod spree which is rough bc system-specific parts are expensive#and so is adapting random parts to her system#fabian's still a pirate captain's son. can't say anything that'd be able to get the vibes across clearer than that#adaine went to tech/business school. she put her monthly allowance towards an ecoterrorist group in her academy which turned out to be an o#and she's currently wanted by UTS. more than fabian. which makes him slightly mad#she's also acquired a passion for low-tech weaponry on the way. she likes ice picks and cleavers#I think up all of this for no reason except that once again the idea of all these people being 1/teens and 2/on the same ship to be posties#is hilarious to me. esp. if they were in a forum group chat beforehand

Life SMP theorizing is so funny (/pos) to me because like. There’s not really a canon, per se, so what you’re really doing is proposing an addition to the fan-created lore. There’s some running bits and storylines but for the most part the players are just doing some fun goofs n’ gags and sometimes there’s dots to connect. If you wanna make a really complex theory about motives and corruption and such you totally CAN but the only people who’ll ever decide if you’re right or not are other people in the fandom and also Martyn InTheLittleWood

dany shouldn’t be at the club she should be at the barn that she mucks out as a summer job forming an unbreakable psychospiritual bond with the horse that no one before her could ride (he’s misunderstood) and then they go to City and win Big Show together so he doesn’t have to be put down for his behavioral issues and also he finally jumps the water obstacle (reoccurring metaphor for the struggles they’ve gone through as a team) and she makes enough prize money to buy him forever the final shot is of her bareback riding him into the sunset as a pop song about being free from 2010 plays in the background. if you even care.

thinking about ren's new skin and how when martyn died last session he turned into martyn as if to preserve him one last time. but something went wrong, and now he's stuck as himself and martyn, a lingering effect of his superpowers and a mark of his grief.
we know from gem and grian's videos that while gem is astral projecting grian can't copy her powers. grian even said the real gem isn't there anymore; there's just an empty shell until her soul returns to her body. if ren had tried to copy her dna while she was out of body would the same thing have happened? does the soul need to be present for their powers to work?
maybe that's why ren's stuck as two now. maybe, in his desperation to preserve martyn, he's irreversibly changed himself. when he looks in a mirror he'll be reminded that he's always got a part of martyn with him, but he'll also be reminded of all the ways he couldn't save him.

DP x DC AU: Danny desperately wants to find the explosion guy. Tim is really good at covering his tracks... he didn't account for ghosts.
The explosions make it onto TV as purported terror activity and most people haven't heard of that part of the world much less ever given a second thought to care about it. The only real reason it gets reported on has something to do with the Justice League and... Danny knows too much.
He's been in training for Clockwork's court (which he's suspicious of- feels like kingly duty bullshit- but Danny is playing along out of curiosity for now) and he's learned a lot about how the living and non-living worlds collide. That means learning about CW's usual suspects- one of which just happened to have a ton of bases around the area Danny was seeing on the news.
It didn't take long for Danny to try to piece together that whoever blew up Nanda Parbat was trying to fuck with the League of Shadows, and was doing it successfully. Less green portals in the world the better, same goes for assassins. But it gets Danny thinking... Maybe he can employ similar tactics on the GIW Bases that keep spawning on the edges of Amity Park. It would at least set them back while he and his friends navigated the help line desk to request Justice League intervention. None of them can leave Amity Park, so outreach is going to have to be creative.
So Danny figures he'll just find the guy. Call up some ghosts who were there, or er, came from there and get a profile and track him down. But the ghosts keep saying it was The Detective. Annoying!
Danny goes full conspiracy theory, gets Tucker and Sam involved, and begrudgingly asks Wes Weston his thoughts.
He hadn't expected Wes to garble out a thirty minute presentation (that had 100 more slides left to go before he cut it off) about how Batman totally trained with a cult and so did his kids. Danny kind of rolled his eyes but... hey, new avenue of searching in the Infinite Realms at least.
The ghosts confirm that Bombs is for sure not Batman's MO- But maybe his second kid would know? The second kid was already brought back to life though, so no way to easily reach him... Danny starts to realize that this might be the work of a Robin now. Wasn't the red one known for solving cold cases? (Sam provides this information- its a social faux pas to not know hero gossip at Gotham Galas- everything she's learned is against her will).
It all comes to a head when Danny goes about the hard task of opening a portal for the guy to come through at just the right time, explain the infinite realms so he doesn't panic and then describe what the fuck was going on with the GIW. It takes months, just over a full year, of random (educated guesses) portal generating- Finally, Red Robin drops into the land of the dead.
"So, you're the guy I've got to talk to about explosions right?" Danny enthusiastically asks.
Tim thinks he's died and landed in the after life following 56 hours of being awake and plummeting off the side of a building into a Lazarus pool. Nothing makes sense about the kid in front of him.
"Yeah, I got a guy for munitions." Tim answers cooly.
"How do you feel about secretly sanctioned government operations that violate protected rights?"
"Gotta get rid of 'em some how. Need me to point you in the right direction?" This might as well be happening.
