My headcanon is that noble child mc shyly gave harkhuf a drawing of them as stick figures holding hands ❤️ Would this be something that he'd brag about in his letters to narmer 🤔
Yes, for sure. He would also show it to him during one of those rare visits. Harkhuf would keep the drawing with him, probably in a secret stash somewhere in his robes, even years later.
Thanks for the cute message! ^^

godheim alkaid | in which he has (almost) nothing to hide (anymore)
Years after you settle down near New Godheim, your sons take part in a scheme to distract their father before the big surprise party. Unfortunately, Alkaid is observant—and his sons take after him.
1.4k, post-canon, birthday surprises, really domestic stuff with slight angst, children of characters, reader is mc [mentioned only], series: an eventful first meeting
Tumblr media Tumblr media
ALKAID IS TENDING TO HIS garden when the door to the quaint house he shares with his wife and three children creaks open.
Hushed whispers descend upon his blossoming garden, but he remains deliberately immersed in cooing over the flowers. His gloved fingers hover over, but never touch, the stems of the purple flower he once brought to life for his wife—back in the snow-buried Godheim he once called home.
Whatever silence his sons can scrounge up lasts only until someone starts shoving—from the yelping, he can guess it's Leo, the older of the two. They sort out the argument between them quickly, then wordlessly set out further into his garden.
And this is, apparently, how some siblings act, particularly if they're close in age. You've vouched for the statement with anecdotes of your school life, but even almost thirteen years later, he finds it hard to wrap his head around it.
He and Ehlonna were never so rough with each other—or at all. But then again, they could only ever dream of the only kind of childhood his sons know.
This is only another difference in a terribly long list, one he hopes will only grow longer.
"Hmm?" Alkaid pauses in his act, pretending to have only just noticed his sons' arrival. "Who is it?"
Silence greets him in return. He waits. A second becomes many, but they do not keep him waiting for long. Instead, they join him by the flowers, almost solemn in the way they gaze at his hard work.
And the way their eyebrows pinch together reminds him of you.
"And what brings the two of you here?" Resting his hands on his knees, he cranes his neck to greet them, one by one. A hint of amusement trickles into his tone. "Will you not be helping your mother this year?"
The two attempt to glance at each other. He leans back a little, disguising his short laugh as a polite cough. The remnants of a smile, however, linger long after his gloved hand retreats. Pressing the back of his bent fingers against his lips, he allows it to return to its former glory.
Behind his back, they converse wordlessly. He pretends he can't hear the rustling of their clothes as they gesture at each other.
"No," Leo huffs out. Forest green eyes narrow at him, carefully gauging his reaction. "There's no point in trying this year."
"Yeah," Sirius grumbles.
Unlike his brother, he's nearly the splitting image of his mother. The title is out of reach only because of the occasional reminders that Alkaid is his father—in the color of his eyes. In the thickness of his hair. In his love for gardening, and in his quiet perceptiveness, one that would leave him wise beyond his ears if he had been born into any other life.
"You always know what we're up to for your birthday."
Indeed, Alkaid thinks privately, settling down onto the ground, with his hands back on his knees. Without delay, his sons mimic him. Today is no different. But he'll pretend it is, though it remains to be seen if his youngest son will buy it.
"Oh," he utters instead. "You didn't get me a present?"
"Not a physical one," the blond says quickly. His words take on a biting quality at the end—the message is clear, both to his brother and to Alkaid, though it's aimed at only one of them. Say something. "We're going to do whatever you want to do, Father."
Turning his head to Leo, Alkaid pretends to think, "Well, I did plan on spending more time on the garden."
"Urk." His next words slip out through gritted teeth, not quite an affirmative, but neither is it a denial. The blond leans forward, unamused gaze pinned on his snickering brother. "Ahem, it's your birthday, Father. You should relax for the day. Somewhere far, far away from here."
"Your mother once did something similar," Alkaid says wistfully, obliviously. "How nostalgic."
In unison, with an ease that suggests much practice, the twins gag at his words. They cap it off with a bland, but insistent, "We know," having perhaps grown tired of hearing the same things over and over again.
"Have I mentioned it before?" he inquires innocently. He hasn't, by the way. Nor has he mentioned the ending, where you did manage to surprise him. Such a trick can only work so many times. "I must've forgotten."
"It's possible," Sirius agrees amiably, having recovered in remarkable time. His fingers lightly caress the soft petals of Alkaid's flowers. "It only shows how much you care about Mother. You make her tea whenever she wants and you've been growing these flowers because they remind you of her."
Less amiably, Leo grumbles, "And you've told us so many stories that we could recite them in our sleep. You and Mother both."
Alkaid smiles faintly. If that is the worst of his sins, of their sins, then surely, they're doing something right. That he has to listen to his children complain is a small price to pay.
"So, when are you going to give them to her?"
"I'm not sure," he admits.
It is the sense that he's being watched that spurs him to glance back at the kitchen window, but the curtain remains drawn, void of any silhouettes that would give the game away. He thinks of his wife, of the awkwardness that's settled into their home—a genuine mistake they don't feel equipped to fix, one that isn't even their own, not entirely.
But they should've expected it. They should've realized that people would carelessly bring Ehlonna up in front of the twins. They should've known better than to try and hide her sacrifice, her—
In that moment, the dark-haired boy nudges him, pulling his attention back onto the flowers. Carefully, a smile slots back into his pleasant expression. Alkaid unclenches his hand—and when had he done that?—and resolves to focus on the current matter at hand.
"Then, do the two of you have any ideas?"
"You'd know better," the younger blond mumbles, his spirits having noticeably dampened at the direction the conversation is taking. "You've known her for a long, long time. Longer than us, since before—"
As expected, Leo was—is—the bigger problem. And Alkaid understands it. He does. But he's allowed to hope that, one day, Leo will realize he has nothing to compensate for, even if he is a bit more withdrawn than his siblings.
A lot more withdrawn, actually.
Perhaps oblivious to the slight tension in the air, though that seems unlikely, Sirius interrupts him without a care. "Give them to her on her birthday!"
A sound option, but—
Alkaid glances at his oldest son. Lips jutting out into a pout, he glares at the unsuspecting flowers in front of him. Under the sun's warmth, his hair takes on a more golden hue, as if it was gold spun into delicate strands.
Brushing the boy's bangs out of his face, Alkaid asks, "And what about you?"
"Isn't it your birthday today?"
He holds his forehead and scowls. At his father's words? At his actions? The older blond remains uncertain. Scarlet blooms acroas the boy's cheeks, the color intensifying as his brother snickers.
Gently, Alkaid offers his younger son a rebuke.
"You're right. Why don't we change the subject then?" He chuckles, tapping his chin. A hint of amusement slips into his words; his next words come out almost song-like. "Now, what shall we talk about?"
"Anything else."
"From before you met Mother!"
As requested by his boys, the topic shifts. The garden soon forgotten, they talk about his childhood.
He talks about Zack, who he'd reunited with shortly after New Godheim had been established, who they knew as "Uncle Zack". He talks about Ehlonna, focusing on the happier memories—on stars, and how he thought she might appreciate the company.
He talks about the Archmage last, telling them close to everything but the period in between, where their relationship grew distant. Wording his sentences carefully, so that they won't look unkindly upon his mentor. Focusing on the happier bits, like the time he and Ehlonna threw him a surprise party, even though they—and the emperor, as well—knew nothing about the day of his birth.
And in the garden they remain, until the ringleader behind this surprise birthday operation comes to fetch them herself, when Alkaid utilizes his best acting skills to be nothing less than thoroughly caught off-guard.
They don't really believe him, but that's okay.
There's always next year.

[The Human Exchange Student at RAD]📝
My MC Alice’s RAD Uniform redesign of 2023! I actually identify my sona with Fire Emblem so much (She low-key exists in the FE Verse since 2017) so I thought I’ll keep her roots and it’s basically FE Fates!Alice in the Devildom- Of course, one cannot forget about her crow Fool! I also gave her a sheep form as I wanted to draw this cuddly sheep since forever kekek- (The ribbon’s color is customizable, each Demon’s color is represented but I chose blue because it’s Lucifer <3)
Anyhow, this is something small I did, because I truly wanted to give my girl a new design!! 💙

Dialogue: #050
"I've done terrible things, I've hurt people, and I took no pleasure in doing it.
But if needed be, I would do it again, and again, and again. As many times as I had to, for the sake of my loved ones, for the safety of everything I hold dear.
So choose wisely if you wish to cross me, because I won't shed a tear while taking you down, no matter what we once were."

funniest thing about AU!Ph.il and Kr.istin is that they deliberately set up both their son’s future weddings but they set their eldest crown prince slash future emperor up with the princess of the kelpies, Sal.ly, to unite the underwater and surface kingdoms into one world-spanning superpower - and then for Tom.my, the backup, they just found some poor random noble girl and threw them together like “yeah this will do he’s not gonna be emperor someday so it’s probably fine”

Mohammed (@ahmed0khalil) and his family are sheltering in a UN classroom at Deir el-Balah right now. Do you know how worried I am when I heard that a school sheltering displaced families in Deir el-Balah has been bombed?? At least one person has been killed and more are injured in the attack.
A tent near another school has been bombed, injuring multiple children. Mohammed is only 19 years old and he has 5 siblings. The youngest is only 6 and his 11-year-old brother is autistic and does not understand anything. They are all so young and I worry for them. Israel has shown time and time again that it has no qualms killing children. Mohammed's brother Ahmed is only 6-years-old. What has he done to have to worry about being killed by bombs??
Israel has been targeting densely populated areas, refugee camps and shelters. In September alone, 17 schools have been bombed, 14 of which were housing refugees. And on top of having to fear for their lives, Mohammed and his family are suffering from malnutrition and diseases because they don't have enough money to buy food and medicine! Please give them more support!!
This campaign has been shared by 90-ghost, vetted by @/gazavetters and #77 on their vetted list!
Only €3,676 raised of €50,000 goal! Last donation was 8 hours ago!!
Tagging for reach, please message me if you want off the mailing list! We thank you in advance.

*rubs my grubby lil hands together*
Oh, do I have OCs? I have so many of them!
For reference, I do have a writing masterlist specific for my otome OCs here, so if you wanna read some other things with them, that's the list to check out!
Will be refraining from talking about my Obey Me OC Miri however as the blog above refers to Cybird's IkeSeries games, so I'll keep this to just about my IkeSeries OCs (There's still six of them all together).
Onwards below the cut!
---------
IkeSen
Houki and Ophelia were originally customizable MCs in a small indie game called Seven Kingdoms: The Princess Problem. It is a stat-raising dating sim where though choices made, you picked a background for a noble lady character. For the past 100 years every seven years, seven nobles from each of the seven nations are sent to a politically neutral island (that may or may not be haunted) to help strengthen ties between the countries (through alliances be they political, marriage, friendly, trade deals, etc), especially important as of late as relationships between the nations have been deteriorating the last few years, so reinvigorating those ties is the last stand before a global war starts.
The game was never fully finished as of this post posting (sad), so I took two of my MCs from that game (I had about four in total, but Houki and Ophelia had gotten the most development of the four of them) and transplanted them into the world of IkeSen.
Tumblr media
Houki was the first to be transported. Her base in 7kpp was a Minor Lady with a Scholarly Bent. She is the member of a branch family from a nation that is known for producing the most intelligent minds of the generations. Scholars, inventors, philosophers, doctors, strategists, and thinkers are said to be some of the greatest if they come from or have studied in Houki's home nation of Jiyel. She was my first MC game in the game having gone in blind and accidentally picked all the options that lead to her having super high intelligence stats when I first started playing the game. She is generally a quiet lady that tries not to bother people and loves reading above most things. She was sent to be a diplomat when her cousin, who had been chosen for the position originally, had run away from her duty (and eloped), thus pushing Houki into the position. Ill-prepared for the responsibility, she begrudgingly takes up the task, only to be swept away via wormhole and ending up the ikesen world.
The Oda pretty much adopt her from day 1, after she saves Nobunaga from his original fate (the same as IkeSen's MC), but passes out after the ordeal, so she loses the opportunity to meet with the Uesugi-Takeda forces and Kennyo's crop. She then latches onto Mitsunari and her life pretty much goes along with the events of his route, the two soon developing romantic feels for each other. She also develops a sibling like relationship with Nobunaga, the two often playing Go against each other (not the way it's played in his route, just normal sibling dynamics between them).
----
Tumblr media
Ophelia was the third MC that I had developed in 7kpp, her base being the Ambitious Widow. Her home country had had their royal family uprooted in a bloody coup around 20 years ago and a new royal family currently sits on the throne. Ophelia's family, though noble, has grown up poor and struggles to get by. When she was old enough, she was married off to a much older man for his money. The marriage lasted about a year before her 'husband' passed away under mysterious circumstances. Ophelia had been blamed for the crime, but she did not do the man in, that is the absolute truth of the matter, but the stinge of rumors still follow her after his death. Despite this, she still climbs social ladders to keep her family afloat, leading to hearing about needing diplomats for the Seven Year Summit and jumping at the chance, to help her family gain political power.
Which lead to her plans being shattered because wormhole shenanigans.
A lot of what I write for her is after she has been in her healing process for a while, but this is a broken woman that does her best to hide the pain she has under a prideful mask and I want to write more about her in the future. As for what I've gathered about her so far, she is cynical and realistic when she's not trying to smooze her way into good graces. Once you're under her wing, she will protect you with everything she has. She can also be a bit of a tease once she's comfortable enough around you to let her walls down, as Kennyo and Ranmaru have found out. A very complex character that I wish to develop more in the future.
-------
IkeRev
Tumblr media
Maddie started the trend of turning my avatars into OCs. When I got the normal avatar hair in Harr's route, that's made me want start seeing her as her own character and I started developing her traits from there.
Maddie is a 30 year old small business owner that made fake flowers before she followed a mysterious man to Cradle trying to return his pocket watch. She's soon caught up in the feud between the Black and Red Armies, soon taking refuge with the rogue wizard Harr and his assistant, Loki. She also starts to develop her own magical powers as she stays longer and longer in Cradle, once latent while living in the Land of Reason.
Haven't really developed her much outside of her adventures in Cradle. I had wanted a 30+ MC ever since the Black Army had made fun of Sirius's age (who is also 30), and it frustrated me, being a 30+ otome player, having my age being made fun of, so Maddie's age was made to combat those feelings.
Outside of that, she's outgoing and friendly, loves to sing, and do crafts to help out the Cradle residents flourish. Is also in a romantic relationship with Harr.
-------
Ikevamp
For Ikevamp, I have two OCs, Thea and Abby.
Tumblr media
Thea was born of an interest I had been developing at the time about historical dress (because I had been obsessed with Bernadette Banner's vids and hyperfixation had done its thing from there) and though historical dress and accuracy didn't feature prominently in ikevamp, I was wanting to fill that need in my heart, thus Thea's creation.
She also needs a lot more development compared to my other OCs, but from what I've gathered so far, she's friendly, outgoing, loves historical dress and is a generally nice girl. She is mostly romantically involved with Theo but depending on my mood, Arthur joins in on the fun sometimes too.
Tumblr media
Abby was next to be developed after gaining a hairstyle from a suitor's route, her's being from Vincent's. She is shy, nervous, introverted, it takes her a while to open up to the mansion residents, not wanting to cause any trouble. Vincent takes her under his wing, seeing how nervous and scared she is of everything, wanting to protect her. She starts following him around despite everyone's teasing, gaining more confidence as time goes on. He helps her develop her art (something that had been discouraged in her old home life) and the two grow closer over time, leading to him following her to the present day when she's forced back to the present due to Shakespeare's shenanigans. Vincent finds her again and they continue their life after despite never finding Comte's mansion again.
------
IkePri
Tumblr media
Clara is currently my only OC for IkePri currently and she's the latest in being inspired by avatar looks, this time by Nokto's route with the low bun.
She's my take on the original MC of the game with a different look and with a little more serious and sternness in her attitude, but she's still a romantic at heart and also absolutely a book lover. Her story pretty much follows Nokto's route with some bits of Rio's sprinkled in for a little bit of an angst flavoring (as if Nokto's doesn't have enough of that to go around, lol). So by this logic, Nokto is her main love interest with Rio not really leaving her side. Still trying to figure out how a threesome can work between them, but that's a scenario for future Krys to figure out.
Question of The Day
Tumblr media
Do you have an OC for any of these games? Tell us about them! Are they romantically involved with any of the suitors, or just besties with your fave? Do you have drawings or descriptions of them? What are they like?
╰❧ Daily Q's can be answered with your voice- or your OC's!

(Slight continuation of yesterday's headcanon about MC's old pictures.)
The palace library is the finest collection of knowledge and tomes in the kingdom, even more so than RAD's (which is likely based off of the royal collection with a more academic flair).
Many books are restricted only to nobles or special guests, and among those are books reserved only for the royal family. They're so exclusive that hardly anybody outside of the royal family even knows what they are.
Even more elusive than those are the books Diavolo and his parents keep in their private bedrooms. Tomes that are said to be mere legends or rumors. You could count the number of people who have ever seen them in person on one hand.
This is where Diavolo keeps it. Sandwiched in between a millennia-old genealogy of the Devildom's rulers and a cursed book containing the damned souls of all who touch it stands a picture album containing photos of MC from years before they arrived in the Devildom.
Many underhanded and even illegal means were used to obtain these treasures. Diavolo personally organized the album, adding fun stickers and handwritten captions to each photo. Its contents were unfortunately sparse, as such images were unimaginably difficult to obtain. A concerning amount of them look to be security camera footage from public places. But if something is easy to find, it's not very fun to collect.
(I don't think he'd earnestly hide it. I think he might go "MC, look what I have! Let's look at it together. :) " and MC would say "Diavolo this is considered a felony in at least 95 human countries.")

Since we’ve hung out a lil with Noble MC’s sister and learned a bit about their relationship, can we have some crumbs about the relationship between Noble MC and their brother?
The relationship with the brother is a bit better than with Pihu. Itamon (that's his name) visits the mc from time to time when he has some business in the palace (he doesn't live there). Although the mc doesn't much like hanging out with him when his friends are around because the friends usually make fun of mc for not being as cool and popular as the big bro.
Other than that, their relationship is like... okay-ish? As okay as it can get when you have a disfunctional family like theirs and a brother who takes nothing seriously and actively sweeps every problem he has under the carpet. He can also be a bit of a douchebag, but he's friendlier than Pihu at least.
Itamon is not going to be much in the story. I think maybe he'll show up once more. So this is more headcanon area :D Thanks for the message! 🥰

Sarah, a five-year-old girl, has not yet completed Kg1.
Tumblr media
She takes great pride in her appearance and enjoys taking care of her clothing. She often refers to herself as the "queen of the house."
Tumblr media
Sarah has a passion for fashion and enjoys playing with dolls and electronic games related to the subject.
She misses her friends and kindergarten and is eager to learn and experience all that life has to offer.💔🥺
Sarah deserves the opportunity to learn and grow in a safe and peaceful environment. Her house was bombed and partially destroyed. Her father was injured and couldn't walk. 🥺💔😥😥
She's really scared and can't bear to see pictures of her home like this.💔💔💔
Tumblr media
She's heartbroken about her toys and her beautiful room, which were destroyed in the bombing.🥺🥺
I want her to live safely and peacefully like other children.
Any support, regardless of its magnitude, would be greatly appreciated.
Even a modest contribution can have a significant impact on my family's circumstances.

Vil: *is not amused by MC's decision to visit him in Pomefiore. Moreover, after elegantly and gracefully subduing the students who tried to stop them, he had no choice but to let them in*
Vil: I trust you won't waste my time with such pointless requests.
MC: You're the only person I could think of who can do it safely, since your ability requires specific conditions to be met.
Vil: *frowns* Who told you that?
MC: I received the information from a reliable source.
Vil: Azul.
Vil: ...I see. Unfortunately, we're neither friends nor close acquaintances. I don't grant favors simply because someone asks.
MC: The acting skills of the actors in your Film Studies Club need improvement.
Vil: What did you say?
MC: I watched your members practice, and they came across as nothing more than wannabe protagonists.
Vil: ...
MC: ...
Vil: They are inexperienced because they have never had real acting work.
MC: Even so, you are a professional actor and model, although you may lack experience as an acting mentor.
Vil: ARE YOU TRYING TO PROVOKE ME?!
MC: That is not my intention.
MC: In fact, I can provide suggestions for enhancing the acting skills of your actors, especially since you mentioned that my acting skills are superb. *smiles*
Vil: ...
Vil: The last time, they didn't react negatively when I rejected them at the audition. So why are they bothering me now?
Vil: ...
Vil: Alright, I will permit you to be an acting mentor, but only for a week.
MC: That's more than enough time. In return, once you see improvements in your actors, will you finally grant me the favor I'm asking for?
Vil: Yes.
MC: Then we have a deal.
Rook: Roi du Poison, you chose MC as the acting mentor for your club? *genuinely surprised*
Vil: I know. A bad decisio—
Rook: Non! You certainly made the right choice!
Vil: *raised an eyebrow* How so?
Rook: Chevalier des Roses has been praising them because the Heartslabyul students have been behaving exceptionally well around MC.
Vil: The Pomefiore students aren't fans of them, Rook—Hold on a moment.
Vil: ...
Vil: *squints his eyes at Rook*
Vil: Are you...?

For King and Country is an 18+ period low fantasy fic which seeks to combine the extensive background work and history associated with high fantasy titles such as LOTR with more ‘realistic’ storytelling and settings. It may contain distressing content like depiction of regressive attitudes (sexism, misogyny and prejudice), major injury to the characters, character deaths, blood, gore, abuse and optional sexual content. More specific warnings will be given at the beginning of each chapter.
Remember those long summer days when the countryside was green and life was still young, when you were but a little culver and all the world was promised for you.
But summer has ended. Amidst the furore and tumult, autumn crept in unnoticed, finding you unprepared, still a greenhorn.
Now, the old order is dead, yet the Empire endures. In this new and uncertain world, what are you willing to do for your King and Country, O little culver?
Ah little tragedies, that you could not remain in the safety of your family's country manor, that they could not shield you once again from this world.
You must take to the capital at once, like all men and women of good birth, for king and country and the glory of the commonwealth! The spirit of progress and change has swept through the nation. The heady days of revolution are long over, and the streets have been washed clean of blood and filth. Invited to serve in the King's Army and attend university as a ward of the king, you must answer the King’s call. Navigate and become increasingly entangled in the web of intrigue, gossip, violence, and ideas that swirl around the nation. Enter a society radically different from the one you were raised to expect. These are the years that will decide your fate and that of your fellow countrymen. Act wisely, for it is not often that the world is within your grasp.

Critical Lore*
Talent
Galder denotes the practice of magic within our nation, a discipline requiring extensive study and mastery. The ability to manipulate Galderquid, the fundamental essence of magic, is a rare and intricate skill, demanding years of rigorous training to achieve even moderate proficiency.
Every individual possesses a basic affinity for Galderquid, but those with exceptional potential are identified through comprehensive evaluations conducted by village or city physicians around the ages of 12 or 13. These assessments determine the individual's capacity for advanced magical education.
Upon evaluation, candidates are assigned a national rank based on their proficiency. Those demonstrating exceptional aptitude are offered state-sponsored education at the Pyrenne Univetsity at the age of 18. Others are placed in various other institutions or may pursue private tutelage.
Galder is often referred to as the "fifth philosophy," characterized by its non-intuitive nature. Mastery requires adherence to rigorous methodologies grounded in reason, first principles, and established precedents. The study of Galder encompasses several specialized fields, each with distinct applications and techniques:
Sympathetic Galder: This field focuses on influencing the minds of individuals or animals. It includes practices such as illusion creation, language translation, emotional manipulation, and sleep inducement.
Transmutative Galder: Involves altering the intrinsic nature or form of objects. This process generally relies on the principle that the original and transformed items must possess equivalent 'worth.' The approximate worth of common subjects of transmutation can be found in any good transmutation book.
Invocation Galder: Pertains to the summoning and manipulation of natural elements, including water, earth, fire, and wind.
Clerical Galder: Associated with the Church, this field is predominantly closed practice. However, educational institutions provide instruction in healing and charming, which are also fundamental aspects of clerical magic.
Archery: Involves the use of Galder to manifest a bow and arrows composed of energy. These projectiles deliver significant blunt damage upon impact but they have more varied usage and techniques as taught by bow-masters.
Blade-Use: Similar to Archery, this field focuses on creating blades, swords, or daggers from Galder. These weapons inflict substantial blunt damage but they have more varied usage and techniques as taught by blade-masters.
The Second Civil War
The Second Civil War, sometimes known as the Revolution is recognized as having commenced approximately ten years ago and concluded two years later with the ascension of King Edmund I of House Wynd. The conflict was precipitated by a series of critical events and widespread discontent among the populace throughout the entire reign of the King Wulfric I Wynd regarding the laws of his government and his conduct as monarch.
The Second Civil was notably ignited by the previous monarch's decision to disinherit his eldest daughter and legitimise his illegitimate children thus making them heir presumptive. This controversial move generated significant unrest among the yeomanry and laborers, who perceived the monarch's actions as unjust and contrary to ecclesiastical teachings. Particularly in redeemist cities across the Empire, widespread protests ensued, leading to the deposition and, in some instances, the defenestration of local officials such as Lord Mayors, Sheriffs, and Governors who supported the king and a state of national emergency being declared with martial law being invoked.
A general, Walthe Courtney, who had previously fought in the unpopular Eleven Years' War on behalf of the crown, emerged as a pivotal leader of the revolution. Utilizing strategic peasant uprisings and sieges, Reval's forces delivered decisive blows to the royalist regime. The revolution culminated in the fall of the capital during the Siege of the King's Seat.
Following the war, a great council of all the great houses instituted several significant reforms. While the monarchy was retained, it was now bound with the monarch being bound by the Grand East Code. In accordance with the written will of the disinherited princess, who died on the battlefield during the conflict an exception was made to place her youngest brother, Edmund, then only 17 years old, on the throne.
The bicameral parliament was replaced by a unicameral national assembly with expanded suffrage of yeomanry and labourers with certain amounts of land. The sole eligibility criteria for parliamentarians are citizenship, attainment of the age of majority, no debt owed to the crown with elections held every eight years.
General Walthe Courtney was appointed as Lord-Protector of the Realm with extensive powers throughout Edmund’s reign and continued as Commander of the Armies for the duration of their tenure. Furthermore, the Pyrenne University was opened to all individuals of suitable skill, not limited to the children of nobility.
Under the new provisions, all children from great houses or those vassal houses with an annual income exceeding 1,300 libre must receive training and serve in the King's Army and live as wards of the king upon reaching the age of eighteen. The official language of the proclamation declares it to be in the national interest that the next leaders of the regions and nations of the Empire know personally their king and capital but the aim is considered to be preventing another war.
The King's Council is required to be include the Premier elected by the eligible electorate. The Premier recommends people to be members of the King's Council although the King is not bound to accept. The King retains the authority to appoint cabinet members from outside parliament, early precedent set by King Edmund I Wynd suggests that he will appoint those recommended by the Lord-Protector.
The King's Army and Pyrenne University
The King's Army, colloquially known among the common folk as the Small Army or King's Life Guard, serves as a voluntary armed force in peacetime within the Empire. Its primary role is to function as a national guard, maintaining peace and order across the extensive and diverse territories of the Empire and swear loyalty solely to the King.
During periods of peace, the King's Guard is comprised of volunteers who contribute to the stability of the nation. However, in times of war, the monarch is vested with the authority to implement conscription, thereby obligating the great houses to raise men to fight for their king.
Following the Great Council of 421, significant reforms were introduced regarding service in the King's Guard. Those heirs of great houses are now required to complete four years service and training within the King's Army as wards of the king although this time can be commuted upon ascension as Lord/Lady Paramount of their house. This training is relatively light compared to full military training, designed to balance the economic and educational responsibilities of these citizens with their military duties.
Pyrenne University is a theological university founded in the year 262AR by Tristan of Pyrenne, a master of theology and galder and was recognized by the King as a royal college in 289AR. It's Faculty of Theology is unrivaled across the entirety of the world and is considered one of the foremost institutions for education in galder, theology and philosophy.
Pyrenne admits its students on the basis of the national ranking system and the census taken each year, those students with a sufficiently high natural affinity for the study of galder are offered a place in which to study it beyond the common extent offered by tutors and hedge-witches.
Pyrenne has in recent years, following the second civil war and the increase in punishment by religious courts for physicians who attribute false rankings, with an increased student cohort particularly from the yeomanry and international scholars though the large majority of the general cohort remains largely consisted of the children of nobility.
Beyond its Faculty of Theology, Pyrenne University is one of the foremost institutions driving forward the development of innovations regarding farming and building, mechanics and the engine'ering class that has developed in major cities across the Empire.
Situated in the capital city, Pyrenne University benefits from its central location in what is often regarded as a hub of youthful energy and societal activity. Its reputation as a center for young nobles and genteel individuals enhances the college's role as a key venue for social introduction. It is frequently heralded as a place where the most advantageous social and matrimonial matches are made, positioning it as a pivotal institution in shaping the elite's social landscape.
The Empire
The Empire, as it is commonly known, is a vast realm governed by the Nine Paramountcies and the Imperial Household, all of whom rule from the King's Seat. This grand structure of power was forged between the years 23 ANU (Anno Non Unitus, or Year of the Ununified) and 1 AR (Anno Rex, or Year of the King) through the conquests of King Adan I, who earned the title "the Unifier."
From its inception, the Empire adopted an expansionist stance, which has characterized much of its history. This policy of territorial growth has been met with widespread approval among its citizens, largely due to the substantial wealth and resources it has brought to the nation. As the largest empire in the world and the unifier of the continent, it has established itself as the dominant lingua franca of common, further solidifying its influence and stature.
Throughout the Empire's history, the Imperial Household and the title of King have primarily been held by House Galagar, reigning from 1 AR to 399 AR, and later by House Wynd, from 399 AR to 438 AR. There have been instances where other houses acted as regents, temporarily holding the title on behalf of House Galagar, such as House Cruller (348 AR-352 AR) and House Abbey (9 AR-13 AR & 154AR-155AR).
Despite its vast wealth and dominance, the Empire has faced relatively frequent rebellions in its paramountcies where calls for independence have persisted. Historically, these uprisings have been met with swift and overwhelming military responses. However, recently in 399AR during the Wyndham Rebellion, King Hendrick the Conqueror succeeded in overthrowing House Galagar and replacing it with his own house who have led the empire since.
*The lore detailed here is accurate but also only extends as far as the protagonist's knowledge of these subjects at the present time of the fic, some detail will be lost or may have been withheld from the MC and they may have misconceptions.

When the advisors are not praising his good sense, nor the bards his mirth, the church his piety or the poor his generosity, the question emerges just who is King Edmund I Wynd?
The young king thrust into a position of power who uses it as well as he knows how, having learnt from the mistakes of his grandfather and father and the long shadow of war that is still cast over the continent?
Or is he merely the figurehead, installed after a turbulent civil war, a king whose true authority has been surrendered to the councilors around him, contenting himself with the trappings of kingship rather than its substance?
Alas who is to know?

Could it be that she, the queen consort, wields the true power behind the throne, acting as a surrogate for her kind lord, who never could bring himself to grasp the reins of authority?
She possesses the strength and allure of a king in her own right. Under her vigilant oversight, the king’s armies have routed the empire's foes, and now her gaze turns inward, determined to root out the treacherous elements within the realm.
Yet, amid her march towards peace at the end of a sword, there are those who seek to see her order destroyed. How long can it last? A queen consort without an heir, without children, lacking a direct claim to the throne, aging, and some even question her bond with the king himself.

Age: 36
Height: 5'9

From the day his family and house declared for the usurper-king, it was clear that Lorn Greenspan, the youngest of seven brothers, would be sent away as a ward.
Only eight years old, he had to play his part, leaving behind the familiar chill of his home—its cold peaks and harsh landscape fading from sight. He was a pawn in a conflict he could scarcely comprehend
His father had told him plainly that he must be strong—because until the day their house bent the knee, Lorn would remain a ward, and his father had no intention of surrendering.
Forced to adapt, Lorn became useful, talented, indispensable—not out of love for those his family would call captors, but out of necessity. Now, he stands as your closest advisor and a member of your house in all but name—cool, calculating, indifferent. Yet beneath that icy exterior burns a quiet resolve. Though he never expects his father to yield, he is determined to see his homeland again, even if it means waging war to bring it to heel.
Name: Lorn of Greenspan
Age: 18
Height: 6'0
Appearance: Lorn has a thick head of dark chestnut hair, gently wavy, it is always styled fashionably with pomade and volume. The unbroken line of Galagar Kings may have fractured at Kirston Wall, but the proud Highland rulers never truly relinquished their claim. To them, Hendrick the Conqueror and his descendants are nothing more than traitors. Yet, they understand that a king's throne is grounded in the right of conquest, and so they bide their time, quietly assembling their forces, tempering their men, and honing their blades.
Preparing for the inevitable clash, they drill relentlessly through lashing rain and violent gales, each generation more convinced of their righteousness and the frailty of their enemies. The realm may slumber in uneasy peace, but in the Highlands, war is always on the horizon.
Kent Galagar, the young Lord of Kirston, was shaped by this belief from childhood. His father, his grandfather, and his great-grandfather—all were kings in their own eyes, their thrones stolen by usurpers. To Kent, acknowledging this truth makes you an ally, a friend. To deny it brands you an enemy, destined to be crushed when the time comes.
For Kent, proud, arrogant, and stubborn as he may seem, the world is divided by a simple truth: those who support the Galagar claim, and those who will fall before it.
Name: Kent Galagar
Age: 18
Height: 5'9
Appearance: Kent possesses a mane of thick, raven-black hair, often left loose or tied back with a leather strap. His skin is scattered with freckling, with a pale complexion. He has piercing blue eyes and a gaze that can shift from arrogant levity to fiery determination in an instant. His powerful frame is unmistakable, with broad shoulders and a chest that strains against the fabric of his tunics. His physique is defined—broad-shouldered and muscular, but not overly so, with a build that suggests both agility and power. His movements carry the confidence of someone who knows his strength and is unafraid to use it.

The nobility are arrogant, cruel, greedy, scheming, and foolish—qualities Arfryn has learned all too well through her peripheral access to them. Her current place among them is no accident but the product of the sweat, blood and tears of her entire family.
Born to a guildman father and a common mother from the east continent, Arfryn witnessed firsthand how the shifting tides of national conflict mirrored the fortunes of her own family. Every struggle either bolstered their wealth or teetered them on the brink of ruin, a fate shared by the yeomanry at large.
Her father, Jasper Caldwell, is the first Premier elected from the Small Parliament, a yeoman elevated by the newly enfranchised class. He has—in no uncertain terms—made it clear that his own position hinges on the peace of the realm.
Arfryn, understanding these dynamics, sees through the superficial grandeur of the nobility. Though she finds them to be the very embodiment of arrogance and folly, she is determined to bend them to her will. For now, she plays the game—offering smiles, be gracious, and dance while they are watching.
Name: Arfryn Caldwell
Age: 20
Height: 5'11
Appearance: Arfryn has a striking presence with her rich, deep brown skin and loose, jet-black braids that cascade down her back. Her eyes are a penetrating dark brown, revealing a sharp intelligence behind a charming, amiable demeanor. She dresses in elegantly simple fabrics that highlight her natural grace—always muted and refined to suit her surroundings but always at the very forefront of courtly fashions. At 5'11 her movements are deliberate, blending seamlessly into the nobility’s world, designed to make her easy to like and hard to hold grudges against.

In public Dean Champion is everything a Lady-Knight should be, prodigiously skilled with both galder and weapons, valiant, chivalrous and extremely popular amongst all who meet her or have the chance to witness her in action.
She like many knights is also spoiled to a fault, her suits of armour gleaming and her squire-boys tasked with keeping them so, as they are expensive and extravagant. Indeed she wears them because all people like a performance.
In private, Dean has dedicated herself entirely to her studies at Pyrenne University, determined to learn all there is about the study and practice of galder and perhaps indeed the deeper secrets that only the great masters know—all the better to become both loved and indispensable to the state.
As the younger sibling of a line with many children, she does not expect to ever inherit and nor does she ever want to, she is entirely content with her career as a tourney knight and the life she's lead in the King's Seat thus far. Indeed Dean has long been utterly convinced that she'd make an awful Lady Paramount, she is convinced utterly that all those like her that revel in the spectacle, the fervor of battle and tourney alike are utterly unsuitable for such position.
Name: Dean Champion
Age: 19
Height: 5'9
Appearance: Dean has long deep auburn hair, typically braided for both practicalities sake and fashion, with strands often escaping to frame her face. Her skin is fair as if she'd somehow escaped the sun of both her home and the tourney. Her pale green eyes are bright and framed by dark eyelashes. Dean's build is athletic and commanding, showing off the results of rigorous training and combat practice, yet she carries herself with a grace that befits her status as a renowned Lady-Knight. Her entire demeanor projects a sort of graceful confidence, like that you'd expect of a Prince of ages past.

Fran has long understood that she commands little respect at court—indeed, as a bastard, she finds herself dismissed even within her own family. Yet there is one, a young Lord who is but a child, who gave her legitimacy, who looks up to her, and has earned her unwavering loyalty. Her beloved little brother.
It is for him that she accepted the king's invitation to the King's Seat, to train in the King's Army. She wants to be his eyes, his ears, and his sword.
True loyalty is a rare commodity among the highborn, for what do they owe anyone but themselves and their own appetites?
She is content to endure their scorn and wear the title "Loyal Hound" with pride. After all, what insult lies therein? A good hound is strong, lethal, obedient, loved, loyal, and free to roam so long as it always returns. And return to him she will.
Name: Fran Radwell-Cadderly
Age: 18
Height: 5'7
Appearance: Fran's dirty-blonde hair is cut short, falling just above her shoulders—a length chosen for practicality rather than fashion. Her complexion is fair, lightly sun-kissed from time spent outdoors, with a few sun-spots across her nose and cheeks. Her eyes are a dull blue-green, carrying an intensity that contrasts with her otherwise unassuming features. Her build is lean and wiry, reflecting a life of rigorous training, with a strength that belies her slender frame. Though she dresses simply, her presence is commanding, a blend of quiet confidence and restrained power and it makes her feel much bigger than the 5'7 she stands at.

so the climax in this book involves mass protests that are threatening to turn violent over an act of vandalism on a sacred space of the indigenous religion and at least the cop guy is pissed enough about it that he's actually considering siding with his people for once instead of 'trying to help from inside the system' but he's also going around telling people 'yeah I agree but this isn't the way to go' like there's any other fucking way for these people to express themselves or gain any autonomy at ALL in this society? they have no say or role in the government, they live as second-class citizens in literally universal poverty and servitude, and no institutions seem to even bother to pretend they have rights equal to the colonizers. government, legal, and military officials are blatantly racist and corrupt. what the fuck else are they SUPPOSED to do? there's some structure with the clan elders meeting with the city heads, but the elders don't have have any authority within the city so what's that even going to do? violent riots though. that could potentially push the nobles to act. like that is the ONLY thing!
