Meme Time

Over in the OC community I’m apart of, there were some memes posted and I got a few questions there, so I’m gonna put all the questions asked there in one big post.

And since an oc wasn't specified, I'm taking this as an opportunity to answer the question for all of them. I'll also do the questions that were put on the red emoji post too, since that also wasn't specified and I'm feeling chatty.

Spoiler warnings for IkeSen, IkeVamp, IkeRev, IkePri, and Obey Me as a lot these answers are gonna pull from various routes and story lines as I like to mix and match ideas to suit my needs for my OCs' stories (Ex: Clara is romantically involved with Nokto and a lot of her story follows the events of his route, but I also like to pull elements from Rio's route to enrich their friendship, things like that.)

Other things of note, I'll be talking about various themes depending on the question. Some things will go into topics like depression and things adjacent to that. There's also gonna be talk about sex and sexuality, thoughts of having children, and various other things that might be uncomfortable for some readers. The questions are featured first so you can skip between them if one of the questions makes you uncomfortable.

🌅 (sunrise) What does your oc look forward to every day? Do they have something to look forward to in the first place? What makes them wake up in the morning? Why do they want to be alive?

Houki (IkeSen)

Houki wasn't really the type to look forward to anything when she wakes up in the morning. Before she had been worm-holed, she was a noble lady of leisure, spending her days reading for hours on end, really only stopping when her mother nagged her to be more social or the servants gently prodded her to make sure she had eaten something every few hours. Now that Mitsunari was in her life, she looked forward towards to saying good morning to him, and to him responding back with how much he loved her.

Thea (IkeVamp)

Thea looks forward to seeing her loved ones every day. The people she sees has changed over time, but the act of greeting her loved ones in the morning is still something she looks forward to each day.

Abby (IkeVamp)

She is also the type that doesn't look forward to anything in particular when she wakes up in the morning, save for after she and Vincent got together. Like with Houki and Mitsunari, she and Vincent say affirmations of love in the morning. She looks forward to hearing Vincent's voice in the morning, quietly whispering sweet things to her in sleepy Dutch.

Maddie (IkeRev)

Maddie looks forward to having breakfast with Harr and Loki in the morning. They talk about their plans for the day, local Cradle gossip, and teasing Harr for putting apricot jam on his toast a little too thick… again.

Clara (IkePri)

Clara looks forward to going to the bookshop and seeing her regular, smiling customers. She loves helping out fellow book lovers find their perfect books and it gives her recommendations for her next read.

Miri (Obey Me)

Miri looks forward to every day because there's always something going on. Devildom always has something happening so she's never bored in her day to day as there's always something to do.

🍊(orange) - Is your oc more selfish or selfless? Are they willing to sacrifice themselves or their goals for others? Why are they this way?

Houki

In a way, Houki was more selfish in that she used to only pursue knowledge just to know it, not that it had much practical use or that she used the knowledge she had to really help anyone, save when she was transported and she saw the importance in helping out, especially with Mitsunari.

Ophelia

Ophelia is selfless, despite having the moniker of the 'Ambitious Widow'. At the end of the day, she just wants to make sure her family is cared for and will go to great lengths to make that happen, sacrificing herself for their sake.

Thea

Thea is willing to sacrifice some of her goals for her loved ones because they are important to her and she wants them to succeed in their endeavors.

Abby

Abby sacrifices herself and her goals to please the people around her because she wants to keep up the image of the 'good, devoted daughter', even if it's extremely detrimental to her mental health.

Maddie

Maddie is selfless, willing to sacrifice some of her goals for her loved ones so she can help them pursue their goals. She wants to help out because she feels it's the right thing to do when people help her first, so she's naturally going to return the favor and help them out when they need it.

Clara

Clara is selfless, willing to sacrifice some of her goals for her loved ones and only a little bit of herself. She kind of had to if she wanted to pursue a relationship with Nokto, now King of Rhodolite. She changed her social class for love and has a lot more responsibility placed on her now that she was going to be a queen.

Miri

Miri is selfless, willing to sacrifice herself and her goals to make sure her loved one succeed. The demon brothers helped her come into herself, becoming more confident and understanding of the new world around her and she cares about all of them as though they were her family too.

🏵(rosette) - What is your character’s most prized possession? Is it something they could never bear to part with? What makes this object so special?

Houki

A book of fairy tales she bought for herself while she was in the Sengoku era. The writing system here is a little different compared to home and at first she had tried to read one of the tactics books that was lying around Mitsunari 's room, but found it too difficult to read. So, after she had earned some money working as Chatelaine, when there was a book seller in town, she and Mitsunari searched among the seller's wares for something simpler for her to learn from. It's special to her because it shows how much she has learned and adapted to Sengoku life. It was also one of the first books she read to her son, helping to inspire his love of reading as well.

Ophelia

She isn't the type to place sentimental value on objects because she doesn't know when that object would be taken from her like other things have been in the past. If she's keeping something, it needs to have practical use, else there isn't a sense for keeping the object if it's just going to weigh her down. Which is why she holds onto the hairbrush that Kennyo gave to her once they became close. It's sturdy and has a use, plus it has flowers on the handle so it's nice to look at some days.

Thea

Her sewing kit! She's had it since she was a little girl. Her mother and her dads helped to gather the materials together so it has a lot of sentimental value to her. It's light blue with flowers on the lid.

Abby

Her first sketchbook. Le Comte had gotten it for her when he saw that getting her dresses wasn't making her happy. She had asked him if she could have his discarded invitations and letters so that she could practice drawing on them. He gives them to her, but the wheels were starting to turn in his head. So, he takes her shopping later on to the stationary shop she gets Arthur's and Mozart's ink from, feigning that he was looking to get a new pen and wanted her help in selecting one. Comte makes small talk with the shop owner, making it look like he's distracted, but he's watching her as she browses the shop, seeing her linger on a particular sketchbook, a look of longing on her face. He secretly tells the owner that he also wants to buy the sketchbook the young lady is looking at (along with some basic drawing supplies) and to have it sent to the mansion later on that day. She cries a little when she sees Comte next, explaining that no one had gotten her one before because her family didn't like her pursing art, but she wanted to so badly. After a bunch of hugs and a few more tears, he reassures her that her passions won't be denied here, that he wants her to do what she loves. It's one of the reasons he's gathered some of the greatest minds together in his mansion, so that they can pursue what they loved in their previous lives, so it would be hypocritical of him to deny her that much. After that, aside from doing chores with Sebastian, she was rarely seen without it. Vincent even had the foresight to take it with him when he traveled to the future to find her, taking comfort at her little doodles and studies while he searched for her.

Maddie

A necklace that's been passed down through her family, originally belonging to her great grandmother (who was Alice the First). She was wearing when she traveling to visit her grandparents in London when she ran into a white-haired gentleman that wore glasses. He was pleasant to her and apologized for knocking into her, but her necklace had been replaced with a pocket watch, and when she had tried to get her necklace back, she followed the white haired man to Wonderland, whoops.

Clara

Her copy of Midnight Cinderella: Alyn. It was the first book in the series she had read as a young girl, looking for a more challenging read after she had exhausted Mr. Akatsuki's stock of children's stories at the time. It helped inspire her love of romance stories and her love for the Midnight Cinderella book series as a whole. That well-worn copy means a lot to her.

Miri

The items that the brothers gave her in order to be able to summon them to where she is when she needs them. A lot of them have sentimental value to her. Pictures with Asmo that evoke special memories, the script from the play she was in from Levi, the body switching book (now powerless) from Satan, the keychain that was the mate to her original one from Mammon, etc. Lucifer's Ring of Light, while also his summoning token, it originally serves as a tempering object for her magic so that it doesn't go out of control as it has done in the past.

🍑 (peach) - What are your character’s thoughts on sex if they have any? What is their sexuality? What is their sex life like? Do they even have one?

Houki

She sees sex as more for procreation than anything, only getting bold on occasion or when she has bouts of curiosity (it's how 'The Experiment' happened) (it's one of my rare full-on smut fics so I won't link it here, but you can peruse my masterlist to find it).

Though she doesn't have the words for it, by modern standards, she's closest to demisexual with a dab of bi-romantic (as in her home game, her first suitor was a warrior princess that was just at the Summit meeting for the free food and to look at all the pretty girls, which is valid of her, tbh.)

Otherwise, she doesn't have much of a sex life as it doesn't interest her much outside of fiction.

Ophelia

Ophelia isn't interested in sex as she has other things to worry about, plus she has some trauma with her previous marriage so she's even less likely to get sexually intimate with a new partner because of that. By modern standards, she's closest to a sex-neutral ace with some touch aversion (specifically towards kissing). She doesn't have a sex life nor does she want one, thanks.

Thea

Thea is polyamorous as that was the kind of relationship that her parents had, her mom and her two dads. She really can't choose between Theo and Arthur as intimate partners, so she didn't and is in a relationship with both of them, loving them in tandem. Her sex life is wild, as I'm sure you can imagine.

Abby

At first, she was scared of it, wanting nothing to do with it after a snooty rich boy forced himself on her. With Vincent, he always gave her reassurances and would stop if she was visibly nervous or unsure. He always wants her happy and comfortable first above all else. And after his constant reassurance and telling her how beautiful he thought she was, they got her to her first orgasm. As her confidence grows, she gets bolder, and after they had been apart for a year, they spent their first night together not separating (literally) for long. As for her sexuality, she's demisexual. Vincent was her first love and she wants him to be her only love.

Maddie

Maddie is bisexual. She thinks of sex as an expression of intimacy. You show your most vulnerable self to another at their most vulnerable self and there's something beautiful about that. She's pretty exclusive to Harr these days, helping him to build confidence in himself, letting him try what's comfortable for him and only pushing a little a time, just to get him out of his shell.

Clara

Though she doesn't have the words for it, Clara is demisexual with an active sex life thanks to Nokto being a horn-dog. At first, she preferred just reading about sex in her books, clinging to tropes that she hoped to experience in real life. Unfortunately, becoming Belle turned those plans upside down, especially after she caught Nokto's eye.

Miri

Miri is pansexual. Gender expression isn't a factor to her when it comes to liking someone and given that she's in a relationship with a demon, how someone presents themselves, gender-wise, seems small in the grand scheme of things. She sees sex as a way to show someone that you love them, as mentioned in Maddie's entry, it's a way to get emotionally close to someone. As for her sex life… well… her partner is a demon, literally. That should be descriptive enough in of itself.

👑(crown) - How does your oc feel about power? Do they hold any? If so, what kind of power and how did they attain it? If not, would they ever want power? How do they feel about those that hold power over others?

Houki

Houki, while from the nobility class, her family was branch family to a much bigger complex main one, often ignored for the most part and left to their own devices. She is cautious of those in power as they can often force you into doing things you don't want to do. She was forced into a role her cousin had ran away from, and she couldn't refuse the role else her family would lose favor and funding from the main family and her family wasn't about to let that happen. She doesn't want power because it can quite easily be taken away, something that's still true even now when she's in Sengoku era Japan.

Ophelia

Doesn't trust anyone holding power over her. Though her family was from the nobility class, they were poor nobles and were often at the mercy of other, richer nobles. Not to mention her home country recently went through a political upheaval, uprooting the old royal family and putting in a new one. So, yeah, she has a strong distrust of those with a lot of power. She does not want power as that is something that can be taken away, very easily and very violently, as she's seen almost personally.

Thea

Thea is probably the most neutral of my girls towards authority figures, if you can call it neutral. Nothing really bad has happened to her specifically and her relationship with authority, but her mother has instilled in her to at least be cautious around them. Her dads lived through a time where being open about their relationship was, at best, frowned upon, while her mother was a victim of inaction because someone had more money and power than her family had and paid for their silence. She wishes she had the power to make authority less corrupt than they are, but she doesn't have that kind of power and to undertake that task would be a horrific uphill battle.

Abby

Abby doesn't trust authority figures all that much as, like Houki, they have a tendency to make you do things you don't want to. And in Abby's case, her distrust comes from authority's inaction. Those in power have a way of making things they don't like disappear, horrendous actions as if they never happened at all, and no consequences for those horrendous actions. Abby was a victim of inaction and she's been scared and distrustful ever since.

Maddie

Maddie's position as Alice the Second gives her leverage in a power struggle between the Red and Black Armies. If the Red Army has Alice on their side, they can overtake the Black Army and assimilate them for total control over Cradle. The Black Army obviously doesn't want that to happen, so they want Alice to be on their side, so that they don't lose their sense of identity and freedom. Maddie, having this role thrust upon her, isn't too pleased with the situation as the Red Army often uses underhanded tactics to bring her to their side (kidnapping usually being a favored method of theirs) and really, she just wants to go back to the Land of Reason at the end of the day, so being thrust into a war she wanted no part of puts a sour taste in her mouth.

Clara

Clara is in a unique position, being Rhodolite's Belle, where she can observe the authority directly and have authority of her own on how her home should be run, namely that she's choosing who will be the next king. It's a big responsibility, especially with the threat of war and/or assimilation from the other nations on the horizon. She didn't want the position initially as, again, it's a big responsibility to choose who's gonna rule over your kingdom. Holding the fate of your kingdom in your hands is intimidating, after all. She pushes through, however, choosing to the best of her gained knowledge of the princes and for what she thought was best for Rhodolite, given the circumstances.

Miri

Magical abilities aside, she kind of fell into power by virtue of who she associates with. She's in good graces with the local royalty along with seven of the most powerful demons in the Devildom. Not only them but she's also has friendships with some high ranking angels, one of the most powerful sorcerers in the Human Realm, and a reaper. Miri is surrounded by a lot of influential people, to say the least.

With her ties to many kinds of powerful people, she wants to use those ties responsibly, to try and bring a sense of harmony between the three worlds, not an easy feat especially when the worlds are at odds with each other with tensions that can be cut with a knife.

🐥 (baby chick) - How does your oc feel about parenthood? Do they have children? If not, do they want any? Why or why not?

Houki

She sees it as an inevitably, being a noble lady, thus she's expected to provide children. She's fairly neutral on the subject of children, as in she doesn't care one way or the other, she just know she's supposed to have them someday to be a good wife or whatever. However, due to health problems, she was only able to have one son, Shigenari. She's felt bad that she can't do more and has said that she would be understanding if Mitsunari wants to take on a mistress to make up for her inadequacy, but Mitsunari never does, just proud that Houki and Shigenari are healthy and happy, and that's enough for him.

Ophelia

Ophelia isn't interested in children as she already had her fill of them from her siblings. There were too many of them and not enough to go around and she didn't want to put any child what she went through. She's also infertile, meaning if she even wanted them, she can't have them biologically, not with the technology available to her in Sengoku Japan. Adoption pretty much is her only option if she really wanted to, but it's not likely at this point in time.

Thea

Thea thought about it and thought 'yeah, maybe someday!' And then someday comes and she's got fraternal twins, a little boy that looks like Theo named Vincent and a little girl that looks like Arthur named Mary Louise. Comte and Leonardo are confused about that one too, given that children produced from a vampire and a human is rare enough already, the fact that the twins also look like both their fathers is also baffling. She loves her kids regardless.

Abby

Her and Vincent’s first kid came as a surprise to both of them. She had a vague sense of 'yeah, maybe someday' with Vincent after they babysat some of their artist friends' kids occasionally, but then they're separated for a year, spent their first night reunited 'catching up' and then the symptoms started, taking both of them by surprise. Abby was the more worried of the two, given that she and Vincent didn't have a lot between them nor did she know if she was ready for parenthood. She and Vincent talked it out, deciding to keep their little guy, Theodorus, named after his uncle Theo. Abby gets in touch with her extended family and they help her get a bigger place to live and all the baby supplies they could ever need. She loves her son and watching him grow. Then, she found she was pregnant again. She wasn't so scared this time, having her safety net and that she knew what to do this time, thus giving her and Vincent their second son, Wilhelm. Then it happened again with their third child, a little girl named Anna Cornelia, affectionately called Cora. So, yeah, parenthood has grown on her, loving all her kids as they grow up. She couldn't imagine her life without them now.

Maddie

Maddie isn't really interested, wanting to focus on her studies and her business more. If it's in the cards for her, she's not gonna be mad about it, but it's something that isn't a top priority to her.

Clara

At first, it wasn't really a priority to her. She liked playing and interacting with the kids in town, but that was about where it ended for her. Except then she became Belle, fell in love with Nokto, and the two were married not long after. Then, there were pressures began from the nobility at court, strong hints that the king needed an heir, some being especially harsh towards her because she was a commoner originally, some telling Nokto to his face that he should have a noble wife so at least his children will be legitimate. Nokto ignores them and takes her away so they can talk privately. He reassures her that he will look to her for her decision. If she wants kids or not, that's up to her and her alone. He's got seven other brothers, after all, one of them is bound to have a kid at one point or another and he could always name that kid as his heir, it wasn't as big of a deal as the snooty nobles were making it out to be. Clara thanks him, feeling better about the issue.

I'm still on the fence about giving her and Nokto kids. Maybe I'll change my mind in the future about it, but as of this posting, there are no plans to give them kids.

Miri

She's got too much going on for her to think about having kids of her own, what with also trying to keep with the demon brothers and that's a job and a half. If she ever does, she certainly is ready for anything any potential kids could throw at her!

That aside, I have had some late-night thoughts of different AUs of her having kids with Diavolo and Simeon on different occasions, so I'm not completely opposed to the idea, but in her main timeline, she's not interested in having kids at the moment.

🎺 (trumpet) - Is your character talented at anything? How did they gain this skill and why?

Houki

She's really good at reading books and retaining the info she's earned. She earned this skill because it's one of her main hobbies and she loves reading a lot.

Ophelia

Maybe not especially talented at it, but she takes small pleasures in caring for a garden. It gives her time to reflect and think without anyone around her, plus, if she's particularly frustrated that day, she can take it out on the weeds and dirt. She had been away from Nobunaga and company for a while, looking for something to do, and had saw that the local garden had been neglected, starting to be overgrown and messy. It was something she sometimes dabbled in back home when she wasn't being called to meet with various nobles and she somehow always felt more at peace when she was in a garden, she could never put her finger on the reason, but she always just liked working in a garden.

Thea

She's really good at sewing. She can make whole outfits in a matter of days, just give her the material, some thread, and let her go to town. She developed her talent for it thanks to her mom and her dad Benito, who both had interests in fashion and making clothes, thus inspiring her love of it as well.

Abby

She's not as good as some the other artistically-inclined members of Comte's mansion, but she likes drawing and painting with watercolors. She wasn't allowed to pursue it until she came to the mansion, thriving under the great minds that surrounded her and the love and support to help her continue following her passions.

Maddie

Singing! It ties into her powers, but she's always loved singing, coming up with little tunes on the fly when she was little and singing along to whatever tune was playing on TV or the radio.

Clara

She likes baking, bread especially. It was one of the first things she learned to cook and it's something she's created bonds over, with Mr. Akatsuki, Rio, and Yves, so bread has a special place for her because of that.

Miri

She's a quick study at magic! Any spell that's placed in front of her, she'll be doing it in no time, something Solomon is quite proud of.

⚠️(warning) - What is your oc’s go-to weapon? Do they prefer melee weapons like swords or brass knuckles or do they prefer guns and other ranged weaponry? Do they even use a weapon? Why or why not?

Houki

Houki isn't a fighter type so she's never had the need for weapon, never really been in a physical fight. The one weapon she has is her wit and she will use it how she sees fit.

Ophelia

Another non-fighter so she doesn't have a go-to weapon. I remember in the beginning of her development I had given her an iron fan, but that's not especially useful for hand to hand combat. If she has to choose between melee or ranged weapons, she's going with the ranged ones. She doesn’t have a lot of physical strength, so something that can be handled easily and where she doesn't have to be close to her opponent, the better.

Thea

Another non-fighter, but she was given the choice, she wants melee weapons, swords especially. She thinks they're cool and always wanted to own one.

Abby

Especially not a fighter, she prefers to avoid combat all together, she doesn't want to be involved at all. She doesn't want a weapon as she doesn't want to fight and that's her stance on that.

Maddie

Her weapon is her voice. She uses magic through making suggestions to inanimate objects, made stronger if she's singing while doing it.

Clara

She's, first, a non-fighter, but will use the skills she does have to protect those weaker than herself. Given that she works in a big bookstore, she has super strength from lifting books and shelves since she was young.

Miri

She has a magic staff that she can change the size of to help enhance her magic. When she's in combat mode, it's as tall as she is. In everyday mode, it's a necklace she wears around her neck.

💄(lipstick) - What does your oc think of their face? Do they have a positive or negative opinion? Do they wear makeup? Do they have a skincare routine? What traits do they like most about their face?

Houki

She thinks her face is okay, for the most part. She only wears makeup for special occasions, so she doesn’t wear it often. She only washes and dries her face as a skin care routine and that's pretty much it. As for what she likes about it, she thinks her eyes are a pretty color.

Ophelia

She used to wear makeup all the time because she needed to keep up the image of a rich noble lady, and that included wearing makeup. She doesn't do it as much anymore since she doesn’t have a pressing need to wear makeup in her day to day. She will use a cream at night to help with dryness tho. What she likes most about her face is that, aside from the mole on her chin, she's never had a pimple or blemish, a miracle with how much makeup she used to wear.

Thea

She thinks her face is okay, but it doesn't lend itself that well to historic makeup styles because of all the freckles on her face. She does think it's fun to wear dark red lipstick sometimes though, to emulate the 1930s-1940s makeup style because she thought it was a fun style and likes to try out different styles when she can. Skincare routine-wise, she'll wash, dry and use a powder when she goes out in historic styles, as was the style of the time. What she likes about her face is her smile. She thinks it's nice.

Abby

Abby doesn't like her face that much. Extra oil and acne haven't done her any favors in the confidence department and creams to try and correct the acne have left her with some scarring. Some makeups irritate her skin so she really can't wear very much of it very often. Thanks to her time in le Comte's mansion, she's had help in finding products that help her skin out, some of which are still manufactured in the modern day (or at least close equivalents.) If she had to pick something she liked about her face, well, she thinks her nose is okay? Something small and button-like. It's got its charms.

Maddie

Maddie likes her face! She loves to wear makeup and look pretty! She makes her own soaps and creams so her skin always looks great. Her best feature, she thinks, is her smile.

Clara

Clara thinks she's got an okay face, not outrageously beautiful but not ugly either. Just something normal. Ever since she took on the role of Belle and had to be a noblewoman to hide that secret, she started wearing makeup more often and using creams to moisturize and clean her skin. She thinks a freshly washed face is the best feeling after a long day. Her best feature is her eyes, specifically her long eyelashes.

Miri

Miri has grown to like her face more than she used to. At first, she didn't really care that much about it, only using basic soaps to clean it and living with the dryness left behind. Since coming to Devildom and getting her pact with Asmo, he has dragged her into making regular beauty routines, helping her to pick out what this or that product is best for her skin and, now, she has fun when she looks in the mirror, seeing the pretty sorcerer she's become over time. Makeup-wise, she doesn't really wear it save for special occasions, like fancy dinner dates or upscale parties at Diavolo's castle. Her favorite feature is how soft her skin feels, especially after a spa day with Asmo.

🥊(boxing glove) - Has your character ever been in a fight? Did they win? Do they fight often? Are they professionally trained or self-taught? Do they enjoy fighting or only do so when necessary?

Houki

Physical fight, no. She doesn't know how to fight save for what she's seen from her time in Sengoku era Japan. She has been taught one self-defense move by a warrior princess she met, but doesn't know much else other than that. She doesn't enjoy fighting, preferring to only do so when it's absolutely necessary.

Ophelia

She has not been in a fight and would prefer to keep it that way.

Thea

She has been in a fight before, when she was a kid. She and her mom had made her a Halloween costume together, Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz's blue gingham dress. She was so proud because she had (mostly) made the dress all on her own and she looked pretty cute in it, thank you. But, some school bullies started calling her names and making fun of her and her dress. When she had finally had enough, she attacked the main bully, giving him a piece of her mind with her fists. She had to be pulled off before the fight was settled. Since then, when she came to 19th century Paris and had a run in with some scruffy lads, she asked Jean and Napoleon to teach her proper self-defense, so she could look after herself should she find herself alone and getting accosted again. She doesn’t like fighting as a whole, but she does deem it necessary sometimes, if nothing else to protect herself from harm.

Abby

She doesn’t like confrontation, so she hates the idea of getting into a fight, period.

Maddie

Maddie has been in a fight before, technically, also when she was a kid. Some kids were making fun of her for various things (her singing, that she's fat, other mean things that kids will say), so, while it wasn't intentional on her part, she had made a fake flower as was her hobby at the time and thanks to her powers starting to bloom, all her negative feelings were transferred into her flower. Since she didn't know she had powers back then, imagine her surprise when her bullies started bothering her again only for them to be strung up by their ankles from the ceiling by a giant string plant stem, embroidered flowers dotting it everywhere.

She had to transfer schools because of that but she did win that fight, technically speaking.

Overall, she prefers to take peaceful routes, trying to avoid a fight if she can. But if she can't avoid it, she's still got enough power to put an end to the fight quickly.

Clara

Clara has been in a few fights before. Mr. Akatsuki taught her some moves so that she could protect herself when he wasn't around to look after her (and if Gilbert ever found her, so she can protect herself from him, according to Mr. Akatsuki). She mostly uses her skills to protect those weaker than herself, even standing up for Rio once early on in their relationship. She prefers not to fight unless she has to.

Miri

Miri has been in a few fights, yeah. She prefers not to fight unless she absolutely has to, wanting to talk things through first before she has to bring out the magic. Solomon has been her teacher in magic, teaching her defensive spells, healing spells, summoning spells, and various other incantations useful for daily life. She also learns some curses from Satan, should she ever need them.

🧣(scarf) - What comforts your oc? Is it an item? An action? A person? Whatever it is, how and why does it comfort them?

Houki

Thick book she can hold onto. The heaviness grounds her back to reality, that she's holding onto something heavy and tangible. It comforts her to know that.

Ophelia

Holding herself. Sometimes, if she's holding onto one of her arms, or if she's got her arms crossed, she's probably trying to self-soothe herself. She's not the type to immediately reach out when she needs help, so she's often left comforting herself in small ways and this is one of them.

Thea

The smell of fresh laundry. Doesn't matter what the object is, if it smells fresh and clean, that's comforting to her.

Abby

Sitting some place quiet helps her to calm down. Her room or the library in le Comte's mansion were her go-tos when she was there. She wants to be away from the noise and that quiet comforts her.

Maddie

Talking to her loved ones, it's usually the quickest remedy of comfort for her.

Clara

Holding onto one of her favorite books, or any book really. Thick books are best for this. Books are a frequent comfort for her when she's feeling down, so that's her go-to.

Miri

She talks to her brothers and her friends if she needs some comfort. Something about talking about what's bothering her always makes her feel better. She's also quick to do the same if they need it, always willing to be a listening ear for her loved ones troubles.

basics first.

(let me preface everything by saying that Jean’s personality, looks, and past were not created by me; he was originally constructed by Chan (NPFH co-creator and my very segssy friend tagged above) and I simply went free real estate ¯\_(ツ)_/¯)

okay, so:

bastard™. most call him “the spider” - both as a warning and as a curse. will sell you to satan for one cornchip. will also destroy you and your life if you get in his way : ) ruthless. manipulative. terrifyingly good at people and can charm pretty much anyone. has dirt on everyone and is brilliant at sniffing out weaknesses. is he lying? is he being honest? who knows? certainly not me. smoker. the living embodiment of the phrase “who we are and who we need to be to survive are two very different things”. has a heart deep, deep, deep down but good luck finding it. seductive. to be frank, the man fucks - that’s it, no fancy words. he knows what’s good and how to get it so his bed is warm most nights, no emotional connections though. likes sketching into his pocketbook : ) mostly birds/still life/architecture. speaking of which, admires architecture openly, and has a taste for art/historical things as well. mind sharper than a knife, tongue even more so 🤪 uses his accent on purpose as well. has a massive sweet tooth. is haunted by past actions. knows the price for “rebirth”. still has night terrors occasionally. ambitious for days. has an expensive taste because he knows the value of such things. enjoys old french songs. is an excellent dancer and is very happy to show just how good 😌 if he so much as sniffs out that someone is getting too comfortable beside him or is developing some sort of attachment to him, removes said attachment with surgical precision and weaponises everything he knows. can be downright vicious in that regard. prefers using words and seductions as oppose to fistfights but can hold his own if needs be. prefers guns - nice and quick. you will not know where his loyalties are until the last second. has a giddy, near boyish appreciation for sports cars but lacks technical knowledge when it comes to them, so don’t expect him to be changing oil any time soon. don’t bother trying to embarrass him, either - you can’t. he has no shame, especially if it comes to the bedroom. has a wicked sense of humour and enjoys few things more than a verbal challenge. enjoys challenges in general. if it's dangerous, he wants to poke it and see just how dangerous. he also works for someone else. will lay it all on the line for someone else but only once.  

so what’s his role and why is he important? 

jean is one of the main, catalyst characters in npfh (no place for heroes) an original universe where we hope to create an interactive modern-day, criminal world in "novel" form. where you, as a reader, play a key role and your decisions affect the story. the first prequel (like jeara's backstory) will be in normal novel format. formation of the pit of vipers aka where elites, lucien, amongst other new OCs will appear will follow that. so the running order is: fwns, tpov, npfh.

after COA gets concluded, I will be full-time working on this world. lowkey already am but that's because creativity is flowing and who am I to say no? so jean meets clara beginning of fwns (fire with no smoke - first prequel title) and for those of you who don't know clara is oc!v from my JW series Children of Ares. you will not have needed to read that story to enjoy this work because everything about JW is being removed and clara's backstory is going to be introduced anew and might be familiar to those of you who have read Gasoline Girl because it was wholly original. camorra is also staying. short version: something has happened to clara a year ago; a terrible, awful sort of trauma that has left her near crippled with the inability to deal with it (some may know what I'm referring to and it's that but x 10 worse :D). however in a world as cutthroat as npfh no falters are allowed. so teetering-at-the-edge-of-oblivion assassin meets master information gatherer because he hires her for a few "removal jobs" ("oh, you're a poisoner? sneaky, sexy, I love it.") because he's feeling out new york city for his boss and gathering information on X & Y. one thing leads to another, and those two end up needing to work together when they accidentally uncover a plan to paint streets of NY red and overthrow the old order. big time ("guess I have no choice but to trust and rely on you now because we're both being hunted,,, damn fine, just don't fall in love with me." 🙄 )

essentially to sum this story up I will say:

slowburn. reluctant partners in crime. banter. angst central. mystery. high stakes. dark. power couple when they're not trying to verbally end one another. sexual tension so thick most knives will not cut it. bi main character. mutual emotional baggage aha <3 it's mature (and yes that means there will be smut but it's been 84 years by the time we get there). at its core though, it's very much a story about healing & remembering what it is to be alive & not just existing in a role that's expected of you, nor does your past define you.

The Rating Scale *General= No romantic or sexual content to be seen or it is very minimal or in the background. Ever wanted to know who the ruler of a certain Orlesian city is? Need connections for your Orlesian OC, but weren’t sure where to start? Look no further! Here I have attempted to compile a list of the named & notable Orlesians found in the Dragon Age games, primarily those that are alive during the events of the games & tie-in novels  ( although a few historical figures are also included for reference. )  Note that it only includes individuals; families that are referred to by the family name, but with no individuals singled out, are not included, nor are unnamed NPCs. Characters that live in Orlais but would likely identify with heritage from elsewhere are not included ( i.e. Josephine would be considered Antivan rather than Orlesian. )  Lastly, some characters may fit under more than one subheading, but are only listed once  ( i.e. Gaspard is both royalty and a chevalier, but is only under the former heading. )

OC Brainrots #5 - In Another World

Welcome back to OC Brain Rots, where I go off about an OC of mine and whatever it is that caused them to tickle my brain at the moment.

For this rot, I've decided to play around with all the girlies and their respective universes. Basically, if they were to be put into a different otome universe, how would things be different and (if applicable), who would they get along best with, maybe even be their suitor of choice in that universe (since this is the point of the majority of dating sim games)?

For simplicity sake, I'm only going to be focusing on Cybird's IkeSeries games and Obey Me since those are where my current OCs come from. My girlies in other otomes (Hakouki, Collar x Malice, SLBP, and various others) I've played can be for another post.

Houki

Home Universe: Ikemen Sengoku In the World of: Ikemen Prince

Her and Ophelia are both MCs from a different dating sim game that was heavy on the political drama, so I think, for Houki, I'm gonna put her in with the IkePri universe. She's already a noble lady back home and both IkePri and her home game have a major focus on political drama, so I think she'd fit in just fine. She could be a noble lady sent to Rhodolite to scope out for her home country, to see if they want to be allies with the tiny Kingdom of Roses.

Suitor I think she'd most get along with: Chevalier

Both are avid book lovers and like quiet places. Both would probably think positively of the other's no nonsense way of thinking. Houki, despite being weaker and having no combat experience, will stand up for others and uses the talents she does have for the betterment of her nation, something I think Chevalier will look positively on. Chevalier, cold and stoic, Houki admires his ability to see the bigger picture, to think at least 50 steps ahead of his opponent and still has his kingdom's best interests at heart despite his… methods.

Ophelia

Home Universe: Ikemen Sengoku In the World of: Ikemen Villains

Above section mentioned Ophelia being from a game about the political drama, and while I thought about putting her in the IkePri universe as well (Obsidianite Lady Ophelia sounds delicious, tbh), I think I'm gonna put her in the Villains universe instead as I think it might fit slightly better for her. She grew up as a poor noble, was married off as soon as possible to keep her family afloat until her husband mysteriously dies. Did she do it? Was it orchestrated by someone else? Was it an accident? Was is an 'accident'? Ophelia certainly isn't telling anyone, letting the dark rumors surround her. Perfect for a villain origin story, no?

Suitor I think she'd most get along with: William, but not at first.

See, Will has this bad habit of pushing and pulling at social boundaries. If Crown ever does come into contact with her (via if she has a fairy tale curse or just by coincidence like with MC) Will would be naturally curious about his noblewoman who was rumored to have killed her late husband. He'd want to figure out why she would be hiding this information as it could save her reputation in noble circles, but she refuses to tell her side of the story. Over time, Will would help her come out of her shell and reveal the truth. They also have similar color palettes, but that's more self-indulgent on my part.

Thea

Home Universe: Ikemen Vampire In the World of: Ikemen Sengoku

A seamstress about to start her dream job that crosses time and space to meet some famous (infamous?) historical figures? Thea could be Mai! The only difference is that Thea knows even less about Japanese history as her specialty mainly focused on European/Western history, so she might be a little lost (by coincidence, she did buy a helpful guide before being wormholed into the past) but I think she'd fit in soon enough, being adopted into the Oda forces after saving Nobunaga.

Suitor I think she'd most get along with: Yukimura.

Sasuke was also a likely candidate for getting along (plus the added connection of being future people), but I think she might be more drawn to Yuki's grounded personality. Thea is spunky and has a good sense of humor, so Yuki likes her and thinks she's cute. Not that he'd ever say that part out loud… willingly.

Abby

Home Universe: Ikemen Vampire In the World of: Ikemen Revolution

Following a mysterious gentlemen to return a lost trinket again, Abbygail? We just don't learn, do we?

No, but given her nervous personality, it was hard to fit her into the other universes without a complete mental meltdown and given a few routes in IkeRev tend to focus on making sure Alice has a good, safe time before returning to the Land of Reason, I think this is good choice for Abby. The Black Army will take care of her like family until she inevitably has to return.

Suitor I think she'd most get along with: Luka

Nervous bean does best around calm personality types and I think Luka fits that bill. He doesn't have the high energy as some of the others do and while he tends to be quieter and stoic, he's not as intimidating as Ray or Sirius (at least according to Abbygail). He also likes cooking and she would like to learn from him when she catches him in the kitchen. For Luka, he sees someone that's lost her way and while she stays in Cradle, he'll do what he can to protect her and makes sure she gets back home safely. They'd be adorable cooking together, tbh 🥺

Maddie

Home Universe: Ikemen Revolution In the World of: Obey Me

Maddie's upbeat personality and her having magic, I think, makes her a good fit for Obey Me. When she figures out that she's capable of magic back in Cradle, the magical environment of Devildom no doubt would fill her curiosity, wanting to know more about this place of demons. 

Suitor I think she'd most get along with: Diavolo

You know who would be curious about humans, especially this new exchange student that always seems to be humming a tune whenever he sees her? I bet Diavolo would be. Both are extroverts that love talking to people and I can see the two having long conversations over tea, talking about absolutely anything that came to mind.

Clara

Home Universe: Ikemen Prince In the World of: Midnight Cinderella

Hey, you know how there were rumors about IkePri being a remake of MidCin, or was ripping it off in some way? Well, turned out Midcin was a novel series in IkePri (as a nice nod, I think), so I think it's only fair that Clara gets to live out her favorite novel series. So, she gets to be the Princess Elect of Wysteria, to make her dreams come true. Clara, in the MidCin series, still works at a bookstore, and is then suddenly caught up in the Princess Elect system as she was retrieving something a friend left behind in the palace (as she had tried to get in, but wasn't chosen). Clara catches the eyes of the staff, specifically Giles, who decides that she's going to be the perfect candidate and the rest is history

Suitor I think she'd most get along with: Alyn

Alyn is serious and a bit rough around the edges, a lot of his focus being towards protecting what he cares for. Actions matter more to him that words do. They'll likely butt heads in the beginning as Clara gets her footing as a new Princess, but they'll both see eventually how much the other cares for their beloved kingdom, to want the best for their people, thus how a friendship (maybe more if we're going all the way with this AU?)

Miri

Home Universe: Obey Me In the World of: Ikemen Revolution

Miri was a wild card in choosing in that she's not a IkeSeries OC, so she has a wide range of places she could go. But I think the best place for her was Ikemen Revolution. She can keep her sorcerer powers and the tone is somewhat lighthearted compared to the other Cybird games. She'd get along great with the Black Army as they are a tight-knit family that would welcome her warmly.

Suitor I think she'd most get along with: Fenrir

Fenrir's upbeat personality would feed into Miri's energy, both undoubtedly having trouble stopping their smiles and laughter. They would be insta-buddies, just clicking like they've been friends for forever. He'd show her all the wonders that Cradle has to offer, telling her what he knows about magic crystals, and going on walks with his dog with her. Just the fastest of friends, I think.

Felt like posting some notes I've made for myself when I'm drawing my girlies. I don't always remember all of them, but I do try to keep most of these in mind when I'm drawing the girlies. These are also all subject to change as my art style changes or if the girlies undergo significant changes later on down the road. It also helps for writing too, so if anyone needs physical descriptions that the visuals don't quite provide, here's a short list of traits to help picture them better. These are also in no particular order, just jotted down at the time I was thinking the trait. Some might also be super short and to the point.

Also, as a heads up, I'll be talking in detail about cis-female bodies, so mentions about boobs and the like are gonna feature here. And I talk very briefly about Houki and Abby having stretch marks on them because they've had kids, and that Abby stole Vincent's clothes when she was pregnant, but that's the extent of it.

Houki (IkeSen)

Circle/Round shapes

Friend shaped, soft round friend

Squart and thick. She is short and stout, like a lil teapot.

She has stretch marks almost everywhere you'd expect them to be. Most prominent areas are her upper arms, stomach, and breasts, made especially more prominent after the birth of her son.

Skin tone is closest to light medium.

Hands are small with short, chubby fingers

Center parts her hair

Black hair with blue undertones. Hair reaches the middle of her back. Very straight for the most part. Usually keeps her hair loose at all times.

Round, green eyes. Very bright green eyes

Round glasses, goes around her eyes. She cannot see without them. Her hand has to touch her nose in order for her to see it clearly without them (which means she's severely near-sided)

When she smiles, it's usually small, closed mouth smiles. Her face doesn't really express big emotions, or if she is experiencing a big emotion, it's a lot more subdued compared to the average person. It has more to do with her upbringing rather than something physical like with Sasuke.

For IkeSen, she wears a medium blue kimono with pink trimmings. If there are designs on her kimono, it's usually flowers or butterflies. She's also often wearing a dark blue haori/jacket

Ophelia (IkeSen)

Sharp, straight shapes

Pale skin and hair, they just barely match. Her hair is white, some lights might make it look very pale blonde

Bangs sweep to the left (her right), which is where her hair part is and how her hair sits. Straight hair. For 7KPP, her hair is a lot longer, most often kept in a crown braid on top of and close to her head. With IkeSen, after she leaves Nobunaga and company, she cuts it short, shorter in the back than the front, curving to frame her face. She's got the Karen haircut, lol

Sharp, red eyes. Stole the description of Nobunaga's eyes being carnelian because I liked the image, so she and Nobunaga have the same eye color.

Bean pole shape, not much curving to her. Clothes give her more curves than she actually has

Average height

Beauty mole on her chin

Long fingers on slender hands. She used to wear gloves when she was in her home world to hide the fact that, though she was a noble, she's had to do a bit of manual labor in her life and her hands showed it. It was detrimental to the wealthy noble image she needed to portray, so she hid it a lot of the time. She doesn't wear them while in her IkeSen era, however, especially after she joins up with Kennyo

For IkeSen, she wears a dark red kimono that ends at her ankles, usually plain with no patterns, with medium red trimmings. Over it, she wears a thin obi and a wrap-style skirt called a mobakama over that (also red).

She mostly hides her emotions to be pleasant and pleasing to those around her, so she can keep up the image of the demure, high-class lady to get what she wants. Once she's done some emotional healing, however, her smiles seem more genuine and natural compared how she used to smile back home.

Thea (IkeVamp)

Bean-pole, tall and thin, willowy

Long shapes

Brown hair with warm/reddish undertones. Keeps it long. Kind of a loose bell shape around her face to soften the lines of her jaw while the rest is braided down her back for working convenience. Fully unfurled, her hair reaches her butt. Bangs sweep to the right (her left)

Freckles, freckles for days. Most concentrated on the apples of her cheeks and nose with some on her forearms and shoulders

Large, round blue eyes.

Pale skin with pinker undertones/warmer under tones

Slender hands with calluses. She's a seamstress by trade so her calluses are most prominent on her thumbs and forefingers. Has been gaining more of them since she started living in Comte's mansion and does more manual labor with Sebastian.

Her everyday wear at le Comte's mansion consists of a button-down yellow blouse, long blue skirt that reaches her ankles, and spat boots that button up the side. When she's working with Sebastian, she'll also sport a white apron because who wants to get their clothes dirty while working? Not Thea.

When she goes out into 1890s Paris, she dresses in the fashion of the day. Comte is quick to provide her clothes (bc sugar daddy gonna sugar), her usual wardrobe involving warm yellows and browns with fake flowers to match.

Very open with her expressions, she's quick to smile big and laugh if the mood strikes her. You'll also know when she's upset because the frown would be so, so deep. She also talks with her hands a lot, so if her face isn't showing what's she's feeling (a rare occurrence), her hands are also a dead giveaway.

Abby (IkeVamp)

Petite, soft shapes. The boba and hips have some gentle curves to them.

Short stature, small, slender hands

Cutest tummy pudge, wanna kiss it. Has most of her stretch marks here, made more prominent after she has kids.

Short, blonde hair. Lengthens and has more volume as she gets older. Usually worn straight with a little curl at the ends

Pale skin with some golden/cooler undertones

Round, warm brown eyes.

At first, she usually always looks nervous, always keeps her arms close to her body in the beginning because she's a nervous lil bean, she wants to take up as little space as possible. This changes once she gains more confidence in herself.

Wears boxy sweaters, sweater vests, and dress pants at first because she wasn't confident in her body (among other things) so she dressed to hide what she didn't like looking at. During her first pregnancy, she was notorious for stealing Vincent's clothes (less so in her later ones) because she felt more comfortable in them for this reason. Later on, she does pick up some more feminine styles like long flowy skirts and rounded sleeve tops as she gains more confidence in herself.

Maddie (IkeRev)

Oval shapes, as opposed to circle shapes like Houki

Short and curvy. Girlfriend is stacked like a brick house

Cool green/almost greyish colored hair, kept short with some fluff to it

Plum colored eyes. Round eyes

A lot of cool colors overall

Light medium skin, maybe with some yellow undertones to contrast with her other cool colors

Two pink earrings each on the tips of her ears and one in the lobe parts.

Sometimes has flowers in her hair, usually pink ones

Long shirts, short jackets

Always in boots. Made for walking and that's just what they do. Most often seen in knee to thigh length ones.

Wears chokers like 90% of the time

Another that likes to talk with her hands, like Thea.

Also pretty open with her emotions, smiles big and laughs loud.

Debating over whether to give her tattoos. Will determine this at a later date

Clara (IkePri)

Pear-shaped. Might not have the boba of Jin's dreams, but she does have some nice hips. Clavis approves.

Long brown wavy hair with cooler undertones. Usually keeps her hair in a low bun. If she's going to bed, she will braid it.

Round almond shaped eyes. Light pink eyes. Long eyelashes

Medium skin. Maybe just a touch darker than Jin with cooler tones as opposed to his warmer ones

Short but has a strong build. No strong wind is going to push her over. She could probably bench press Nokto and Rio if she really wanted to.

Dress her in warm tones to contrast with all of her cool colors. Orange is a good color on her, plus it links her with her friendship with Rio. Light blues/teal are also good for representing her relationship with Nokto.

Long skirts is the name of the game, baby. I usually put her in an orange one with a white blouse that has ruffled cuffs.

She dresses like an old-school librarian, mostly covered save for her hands and her head.

Still sometimes wears her engagement ring when she and Nokto were fake married, just not always on her finger.

Reserved when it comes to expressing her emotions. Wants to be strong for her loved ones but that can also lead to her coming off as cool and aloof. Catch her in the right mood and she can be super sweet and expressive (talk to her about MidCin or about making bread and tell me that girl isn't expressive, I dare you.)

Miri (Obey Me)

Soft shapes, friend shaped.

Small hands. Asmo paints her nails pink! Also noted by Asmo after they make their pact together, her pointer and ring fingers are the same length on both her hands, which is neat to him. It's also noted that she has smaller than average ears, for a human.

Curly pink hair, her curls varying from loose weaves to tight coils. Her hair starts off short and choppy in Season 1 and gets longer and more maturely styled as she goes through the later seasons. By Nightbringer Season 3 (current season as of right now), it's mid-back length.

In the beginning, she dresses more to hide her body in the beginning because she's not confident in herself and doesn't know how to accessorize and become the hot girl of her dreams. This changes as she gets more comfortable with herself, plus surrounded by fashionable demons also helps with that.

Dark skin tone. Has warm/pinkish tones to her skin to go with her pink hair.

Has light pink to purple gradient eyes, round and wide for her curiosity.

When she creates pacts with the brothers (because I saw headcanons for this and I wanted to include it with Miri too) their symbols appear as tattoos on her skin. When she summons them or evokes magic in their name, it glows their signature color (Blue for Lucifer, Yellow for Mammon, etc). When she's using magic on her own without a brother, she glows white. When she's not using magic, the pact marks are invisible.

Her RAD uniform has a knee length pleated skirt (skirt is grey but the inner pleats are red) and the cape portion is long, meeting her thighs like Satan's does. Depending on the season, she'll either wear a pink ribbon as her tie, or even a bolo if the mood strikes her. She wears white knee socks and black Mary Jane shoes. Like the brothers, she also sports a green button up shirt under the jacket, the hem covering to her mid-thighs while the belt sits at her natural waist, buckled properly.

Post OG Season 2, she wears Lucifer's Ring of Light, an older style ring that helps her to control her powers. She wears it on her left hand ring finger.

OG Season 3 and beyond, her Sorcerer Society tattoo is over the back of her right hand, showing the three staves and seven stars symbolizing her as a member of the Sorcerer's Society.

[Profile] Clara Laurent - IkePri OC

-Like Maddie and Abby before her, Clara was originally inspired by avatar items I received in game and, when put together, I saw her as her own character.

-Before becoming Belle, like IkePri's original MC, she worked in a bookstore in Rhodolite for Mr. Akatsuki, her father-figure that took her in when she was a young girl. She is an only child and her biological parents have been MIA for years, seemingly to have left their daughter permanently in Mr. Akatsuki's care.

-Avid reader of romance books (her favorite being the Midnight Cinderella series), she often dreams of having romantic escapades, but then remembers that she's just a bookstore clerk and this is reality, that kind of stuff doesn't happen to ordinary people like her.

-She had thought she was going to get her romantic escapade of her dreams when Rio came into her life, but seeing a certain ring in his possession, plus his nobleman's coat and sword crest, she dampens her hopes. He likely has someone at home waiting for him, she thinks, so she keeps a distance between them, despite his obviously growing feelings for her. She tries to play off his declarations with a laugh and a playful shove, but she still feels a prick of guilt when she remembers the ring.

-Then, one day, Sariel shows up and brings her to the palace to become the next Belle, a person that chooses Rhodolite's next king. And she also catches the eye of a certain fox-like prince: The Seventh Rhodolitian Prince, Nokto Klein.

-To keep suspicions low about her being Belle, Nokto takes her in as his fake fiancée, using all the tricks up his sleeve to keep her identity secret. The only problem was that Nokto… is a sleazy playboy. He always had a lie ready on his tongue and was often pulling Clara into situations that, while it was in the name of keeping her real identity secret, she was often out of her depth or was clearly uncomfortable with Nokto's flirting.

-But, since she had been given the momentous task of choosing the next king of her country, she didn't want to give up and did her best to fairly judge the princes, finding more and more hidden meaning between Nokto's actions, seeing that they weren't as originally self-serving as they appeared to be.

-They reached a turning point one night when Clara agreed to read to him every night. He needed a hiding place and she only agreed to that if he wouldn't do anything.. Untoward towards her (again, like the first time they met). He agreed in desperation, but soon grows bored. He sees her curled up with a book in her lap and asks what she's reading. Since she's still wary of him, she gives a bare bones summary, at first. Nokto, not wanting to waste the opportunity to make up for messing with her, asked some leading questions, accidently activating her special interest button (since she had been reading a MidCin series book and MidCin is her special interest), making her talk at length about it.  When she realizes that she had been talking at length about a romance book, an especially embarrassingly long time too, she stops and curls back into her chair, and apologizes for taking up his time.

-Though Nokto wasn't especially interested in the content of the series, he saw how her eyes lit up and how passionate she was when she was talking about something she loved. Something about this unabashed honesty and love struck something in him. He liked her honesty, something he never believed he could be.

-He finally opens up to her after a hunting incident gone wrong, where he froze and she and his brothers had to stand up for and save him, something he didn't feel worthy of receiving. She was the sun in his life and he couldn't even come up with some clever way to save her, she had to do it herself, and that upset him. That he failed in helping his loved ones, again.

-This is the point where the story follows the Romantic Route, where Nokto gets his chance to shine and make Rhodolite prosperous, that he is a worthy prince and king capable of protecting the things most important to him. Nokto finds her again in the old bookstore, Clause 99 no longer a problem for either of them and invites her to his coronation party… and -their- engagement party.

-At some point, after she's officially engaged to Nokto, she takes Rio aside to give him back his belongings and apologizes that she's kept them from him all this time and that she's always appreciated his friendship. She's brought to tears, however, when he tosses the items aside and hugs her tightly. "You matter more to me than my lost memories." he told her, "so, if it's okay with you, I'll stick around as long as you want me to." And he remains loyal to her to the end of their days, though he never steps foot in Benitoite again, even when offered a vacation there. And Clara, remembering the crest on his sword she returned to him, always respects his wishes of not wanting to go.

-Matters in her later life (Act 3 stuff not taken into account as of this posting, but will make an update once his sequel comes to English): Gets married to Nokto and gains the title of Queen Consort. In the matters of children (as a king needs heirs, after all) it's still up in the air for me, personally. The idea of twins is delicious and angsty but that is a big sore spot for him and Licht, let alone the idea of being a dad in general, and especially the previous King not being a great role model. Still up for debate at the current time. Adoption is also an option.

-As for another matter to consider: her biological parents. In the WIP Wednesday 'Father' prompt for her, Clara's parents left her in the care of Mr. Akatsuki when she was a young girl. When word gets about the king's engagement, would they come out of the woodwork when they find out it's their daughter that's marrying the king? Something to think about.

Some other fun facts

-She likes baking, bread specifically. She thinks cakes are a little too sweet so she prefers bread over it. She makes treat breads for special occasions, like birthdays and anniversaries.

-Other suitors for consideration: Rio, because duh. Another consideration was Jin, but I just liked her dynamic with Nokto better, if that makes sense?

-She's terrible with alcohol. She's a pouty drunk and will get jealous of just about anything. But then she turns into a sleepy drunk that clings like a koala to the nearest object.

-Clara's name means 'bright, clear', while her last name, Laurent, is meant to invoke laurels given to winning athletes in the Olympics of old, a nod to the fact that Clara is crowning the future king of Rhodolite with her clear and pure heart.

-Her favorite 'book' in the Midnight Cinderella series is 'Byron.' She likes his cool and collected nature and the alliance marriage aspect has always left her fascinated. After getting together with Nokto, however, she comes to appreciate 'Leo' as well with the many similarities between the character and Nokto.

With Ophelia and Houki, given the nature of their initial creation as MCs in a different game, their personalities were formed before their appearance, as that was the order done in their home game. Personality and backstories were developed first via choices in game, while appearance was more of minor detail that popped up later on in game (like mentioning that Houki has long black hair, Ophelia's prim and proper clothing choices and not much after that, etc.)

Naturally, their appearances reflected their personalities and backstories. Houki is an introverted bookworm that tends to laze about reading her beloved tomes. Her clothes are relaxed and easy to move around in. She doesn't do anything majorly fancy with her appearance because it would interfere with her book time. Ophelia has had to put on appearances all her life, to pretend to be a person she wasn't for the sake of her loved ones. So, while she knows how to enhance her appearance to get what she wants, it hides what's simmering underneath, something that she doesn't want others to see. 

At the time of Thea's creation, I had been developing a hyperfixation on historical dress and, though Ikevamp is set in an historical time, it didn't scratch the itch I wanted scratched in everyone in historic-appropriate clothes, especially the MC, thus Thea's creation so I could scratch that itch. So, based on this, Thea is an appearance first OC with her personality coming second. And, based purely on the fact that I created her out of creative spite, it also formed her personality to be impulsive and outgoing.

Maddie, Abby, and Clara are all also appearance first OCs, in that they were inspired by my avatars in IkeRev, IkeVamp, and IkePri respectively, with their personalities developing later.

Maddie developed as I played Harr's route, the normal hair avatar being what sold me initially about her. It made me think of her as someone older, more mature. The digs at Sirius's age only added fuel to the fire, so I made her a lil bit of an older OC (she's Sirius's age!) and, also because of those digs, she's more outgoing and is out to prove that age doesn't matter in doing the things you love nor is it an excuse to stop learning new things!

Abby was first created with Vincent's normal avatar hair (short blonde bob) along with the default brown eyes, it gave a more demure look, more withdrawn, thus the basis for Abbygail, who is nervous and self-conscious about herself. It gave me a contrast to Thea who is more outgoing and confident comparatively.

Clara was inspired by Nokto's normal avatar (low fancy bun), giving the girlie a more serious appearance compared to Nokto, an ethereal playboy, so her personality developed as a contrast to him, one seemingly frivolous with the other grounded, except when they got to know the other and discovered the opposite was true underneath their walls.

Miri, my Obey Me MC, her personality developed first as her appearance actually changed over time. There isn't much physical description given to the MC, so you pretty much have free reign of imagining what the MC actually looks like, another reason why it took me longer to settle on her design. I just knew that I wanted her with pink and purples like the Sheep MC design in game. And because she had pink and purple in her color scheme, it lead me to thinking of her as a magical girl as those are some of the colors I associate with magical girls. MC learning magic in later seasons also made me lean stronger into giving her a magical girl personality, the good-hearted protagonist that wants to do right, except that the people she wants to do right by …are literal demons.

 It's been a fun ride with that idea in mind, as you can guess.

I have been creating OCs since my middle school days, which might look a little different than most of the age demographic of tumblr, lol

When I was younger, I used to be a part of different fandom forum groups that I found through Fanfiction.net, one person in particular RP'd with me on AIM messenger for about two or three years, throwing our favorite characters together in what amounted to writing soup, eventually getting some semblance of plot once in a while, but really, we were throwing ideas at the wall and having a great time with our faves and going on adventures and whatnot.

Among those adventures, OCs started popping up where need be. Since it started off as a self-insert adventure, the plot eventually turned into needing a family for the insert, so I made my own self-inserts parents and siblings, along with future oc kids, quest givers, rivals, villains, even a talking horse at one point. I became addicted to making OCs, something that just continued through my life even to the here and now.

To get into specifics with my otome OCs in particular, with Houki and Ophelia, I had created them in a different game that was stuck in development hell (RIP), so, not wanting to lose perfectly good characters, I moved them to IkeSen where I thought they would a good fit, molding their stories to IkeSen's universe.

With Thea, she was based on the lack of historical dress in IkeVamp as it had become a hyperfixation for me during 2020 and she helped me cope during those times.

Maddie, Abby, and Clara first came along when I put avatar features together in the avatar rooms of their respective games (Maddie for IkeRev, Abby for IkeVamp, and Clara for IkePri) and then it just sparked that this was her own character, thus their creation.

And for Miri, she was my MC insert for Obey Me, putting her through MC's adventures that she became her own character after a certain point.
