my FAVORITE genre is historical action with or without fantasy elements but that's a lot of people's favorite genres so a lot of books like that are written and many of them are not very good

thoughts on kaleidoscope of death

i REALLY REAAAALLY liked the reasons behind the doors in the book. i loved the way they truly were a gift and how important it was to protect them from being stolen from you. that was so so so so interesting. night and day from the vr bullshit but i guess u gotta do what u gotta do

and also i loved how your appearance changed in the door.. not only that but it could be influenced by being sick or hunching over or wearing a wig?? im mesmerized by that im still thinking abt it

i really missed a lot of characters that were much more essential in the show... li dongyuan and tan zaozao in particular. it made some doors a lot less interesting particularly the river god one. like where are my friends all my friends are gone.

i hated the authors notes so much i wish i could have turned them off. initially they are the main reason i thought i hated the book. they were just so. like. ewpugh. idk

the translation was a bit jarring too but it wasn't an official translation and im the clown who can only read english so that one is on me

the way their relationship progressed actually felt really genuine and nice and HEALTHY! like damn they both think the other person is the coolest smartest sexiest person on this earth and that really comes through. i was kind of surprised because initially rnz came off as kind of creepy. but again. i think that was bc of the authors notes.... god. anyway

yeah it’s a little lame but kandksma in hs i participated in a national poetry reading contest called poetry out loud n i rly liked the name + i think there’s something so nice abt hearing poetry spoken out loud<3 so i stole it for the blog

in portuguese we don’t really say sweet dreams at least the expression is not the same when we want to wish someone to have sweet dreams we say “sonhos cor de rosa” that translates to “pink dreams” so we basically wish the other person to have pink dreams
