The parallels of what Ellie sees from Reginald in Crown of Thorns (TCW) and Queen of Roses (TK) is fascinating to me.

In Toppat Civil Warfare, she returns and exposes Henry- only for Reginald to join the conversation, going off about how a betrayal like that tarnishes the Toppat name, is so extremely immoral, etc. etc.. It’s…impossible to tell if this is a genuine change on his part, however she feels certain that it is just a show. It just fuels her malice.

In Toppat King, when Henry is still off of the rocket and Reginald says that he’ll keep things open for as long as he can, Ellie sees this as the perfect opportunity to repay him for what he did to her- and push him out of the rocket. But before she can do anything, she then she sees him hold Henry over the edge, consider his options, and then pull him up. A similar scenario to what he did to her.

It…makes her question everything. Was it more than just a desire for leadership? Did he really, truly see her as a threat to the Toppat Clan?

Is there a chance he changed? That they both changed, and Ellie just became…worse?

YES! I have had a near death experience!

I went to a waterpark with a friend of mine, and they really wanted to go on a solo-waterslide (even though I literally invited her and the whole point of this trip was so that we could spend some time together before she moved away but whatever) so eventually I relented. Anyways, I decided to go down after her because why-the-heck not. So I did, but I didn’t read the warning signs (I should have, I know, I’m stupid) and I didn’t realize that you had to be able to SWIM.

And I. Uh. I can’t swim.

So I’ve never been on such a big waterslide without using a tube or something, right? So it’s already scary enough. And then I’m dumped into twenty feet of water that I can’t swim out of,

And I sink. And in those moments, I was convinced that I was going to die. I don’t remember how long it was, probably like twenty seconds or something, but still. And then the lifeguard came and saved me and ily lifeguards I’m sorry for being stupid

I’m not going to lie, Randy is the character I’m probably the most partial towards writing.

Is he the most perfectly written? No, far from it. But he is my favorite to write. And I think part of that is how I like to imagine I subvert the fanon standard a little bit.

Randy, in Crown of Roses, very explicitly states that he isn’t interested in romance. I don’t think he doesn’t understand it or anything like that- he just isn’t interested in a relationship.

Whatever the case, he sure isn’t interested in raising kids, but he isn’t opposed to being a father figure- in fact, he craves familial affection. I like to think his only source of that may have been Wilford IV, but as he helped contribute to the guy’s death, he has nothing of the sort left. So I like that he sees Sven as a sort of stand in for a son. Randy is, to Sven, what Suave always told Sven HE would be. Sven is, to Randy, the family he never had. I dunno!

I don’t assign sexualities to my characters, but I could absolutely see someone reading him as aromantic or asexual. Whatever the case! I think it’s a nice contrast to the common fandom reading of him being more promiscuous- which is a reading I really like, it suits him LOL, but still. I think it’s interesting!

Danny smiled as he saw Harper and her siblings laughing and gloating over their stolen goods, they haven’t really been known to go on many successful heists, so this was a huge victory for them

Danny: seems you four hit the jackpot 

Harper: we sure did!

Ellie: only problem is, we don’t know what to do with the money

Burt: we can just put the money in the clans savings like most people

Harper: oh! I think I have a better idea!

*the group goes silent as she gestures towards a photo*

Harper: how about we go to the place where money is made and lost, Las Vegas!

*danny froze, he’s never told anyone about his bad history with Las Vegas and to hear suaves kids want to start trouble there…*

Henry: oh I like the way you think!

Ellie: we can break into a bar! Steal a car and drive like we own the world!

Danny: aspetta un attimo!!

*the siblings turn to Danny alarmed at his worried tone danny looks at the group and sighs*

Danny: well- if you’re going to do something like this why don’t I come with you? Just…Just to make sure nothing bad happens.

Harper: yeah! The more the merrier!

Ellie: bet things are going to be a blast with you around! I’ve seen you when you party!

Henry: what are we waiting for? Let’s head to sin city!

*as the siblings cheer Danny can’t help but feel a pit in his stomach, this happened before and he doesn’t want it to go wrong again*

Ellie: hell YEAH-HA-HA! Now this is living! Is that right Burt?

Harper: speed is ours and we’re too fast to stop!

*danny was drunkenly laughing along with the suave siblings, he was supposed to be their supervision, but then they offered him a drink, and he thought a little glass wouldn’t hurt… and then a little glass became a whole bottle*

Danny: WHOOOO I’VE NEVER FELT SUCH JOY IN THIS DARLING WORLD OF OURS!

*the five of them laughed they felt as free as the wind, but this feeling was cut short as Harper started screaming*

Harper: CRAP I FORGOT ABOUT THE ROAD!

*the car starts swerving violently as she tries to dodge as many cars as she can*

Danny: oh god-Harper calm down eyes on the road, dear God!

*danny couldn’t help but panic, chaos was starting to unfold the very same way it did years ago*

Henry: HARPER LOOK OUT!

*harpers eyes widen in horror as she sees a family crossing the street*

Terrence: look at what we’ve done here…this will be the best experience I’ve had with any other Toppat

*danny looked up to see a crazed and malice expression*

Terrence: and it was done with my best friend…

*danny couldn’t help but smile they made a wonderful memory that his leader could cherish but… dear God he was horrified what has he done? A family is dead because of him and for what? A criminals night out?! he felt terrible… the blood can easily be washed off, but the memories will stain him forever-*

Harper: DANNY!

*dannys eyes snapped open at the voice of his niece and immediately started looking around in a panic they were in a ditch everyone was scraped and bruised. Ellie was tending to her sprained ankle, and Henry was trying to keep a concussed Burt awake.*

Harper: w-we were driving and-and I lost control of the wheel we-we almost hit a family so I turned the car and- we went flying off the highway! And everyone’s hurt!-

Danny: Harper! calm down I can signal some other Toppats to come get us

*harpers panicked words turn into mumbles in her crying as Danny helps Harper get off the ground*

Danny: Harper… the reason I wanted to supervise this whole trip… is because your father took me here… and we killed a couple…

*harper looked shocked, moreover devastated everyone knows with how hard Harper tries to be not like her father and I know she did something almost exactly similar to him… her eyes began to we’ll up with more tears*

Harper: I-I

Danny: calm down Harper, unlike your father, you did the right thing when you saw civilians in the way of us… you went out of your way to keep them safe so you did do something good today

Harper: I did?…

Danny: yes however what you did today…it was very reckless I trust you, Harper and I always will. But you have to learn that if the dangers outweigh the fun the best solution is to back out.

*harper hanged her head low realizing that she messed up big today*

Harper: I…I understand…

Danny: good… you’re someone important to me… and I would hate for you to end up like your father now let’s tend to everybody’s wounds as best as we can

*as the two headed toward Burt, Henry and Ellie Danny felt a sense of relief, in a situation that was almost the exact same as what their father got himself into, they made the right choice, they had great potential to become excellent Toppats they just needed a little guidance*

Crown of Roses is BONKERS. Dude, for a while Henry was going to go so crazy out in the desert that he becomes a cannibal! (And I haven’t fully moved on from that idea to be honest)

ive been thinking about my insane Reginald au and I genuinely might not continue it because to be fair. Not only because I like doing my R.H.M.R poll game even though I've done like two parts lol, but I realised not everyone likes blood, guts and trauma. Which I understand as some backstory involves alot of abuse and torture. So I'm going to put up a poll as a genuine question. Also I apologise for any inconveniences from anyone or if they're generally tired of seeing me chat about insane reginald lol.
