do you ever think about the fact that in the show juan picked the woman that most closely resembled lucrezia (aka his own sister) to be his bride??!!? because sometimes I remember and i'm like MY GOD WHAT AN INSANE LITTLE DETAIL!! even cesare did not do *that*-- then again, ces was fully aware of his feelings for lucrezia being more than what a brother should feel for his sister, whereas juan was not. but his subconscious? definitely aware!! truly fucking wild. I love it.
delicious food like he wasn't even subtle was he? and this is us ignoring how he became a jealous sobbing mess upon seeing lucrezia kissing paolo lol. now let's delve into juan's wife's portrait. we know how maria historically looked or at least her features in case her portraits weren't too accurate. however in the show maria heavily resembles holliday's lucrezia like...the curly blond hair, full lips, big eyes, or chubby cheeks? this is definitely not a mistake especially considering how everything about this show leans heavily on subtext and metaphors!!
he's not even trying to hide it this point cause look at her...too uncanny like alright then juan!!
and bro was so extra especially when he asked for her permission to marry maria? there are layers to this like i appreciate how he's trying to make her smile but…
like why is he asking HER for permission to get married? insane!!!! stuff!!! no one ever did it like this family!!!! (i mean… do we even need to talk about how she purposely walked in on him fucking some girl instead he was excited to see his sister and pretended like everything was normal as if nothing weird or inappropriate was going on lol?)
speaking of cesare, i lowkey parallel this with when he became obsessed with ursula bonadeo, seduced her, and took advantage of her since he saw her as a surrogate for lucrezia, projecting his sister onto ursula. both juan and cesare are genuinely so unhinged when it comes to lucrezia like inject all this into my veins asap!!
amazing. showstopping. breathtaking. talented. brilliant. superb. never done before etc
#and yes it really does play well with david saying he wanted to be in a throuple with lucrezia and cesare!#i mean he's super insightful and he was the one who gave his character nuance more than what neil offered so there's that#and it's obvious that juan's //odd / feelings for lucrezia and cesare are also david's improvisation because the show didn't dive into them#no show has ever did it like the borgias#mel 💌#the borgias#lucrezia borgia#cesare borgia#juan borgia#the borgias meta#period drama#ursula bonadeo#the borgia siblings#text post

helloo since we're on the topic: top historical fiction (or adjacent) ? can be any time period I just really love your taste in shows/games/etc and am always on the lookout for history inspired media !
thank you!!! im rly glad im like. inspiring other ppl to engage w things im insane abt hudofajsdfdassfsad. anyways. i will probably expand that list bc i literally forgot every single thing i ever read. also i havent watched that many movies so far
ancient times: i havent really watched a lot of movies/series set in ancient times so far :(
rome HBO (2005-2007) (tv series) - OF COURSE. i personally think its one of the best series ever made. they combine political, miliatry history with the lives of every day people in an incredible way. they never let you once engage with the series through modern lenses. according to my teacher (a historian, archeologist & self described 'romaphile') its incredibly historically accurate, mostly the clothing, set designs, characterization, military practices, etc. except for the things they straight up made up, of course.
i really enjoyed gladiator (2000), i think its a masterpiece.
prince of egypt (1998) i guess?
all the asterix movies of course, all the animated ones and most of the live actions. but i wouldnt really call it historical fiction
ok i havent actually finished watching it for now but sebastiane (1976) - an erotic, x rated, gay interpretation of the martyrdom of st sebastian. its in latin also.
wait i cant believe i forgor about assassin's creed odyssey - so far the only one ive played. its so fun and incredibly immersive visually. especially pour moi who cries into the pillow about how ill never experience the ancient world. also you can b a faggot which is always fun. i have things to say about their portrayal of same-sex sexuality and slavery in classical greece but i get why they did that considering its supposed to like. appeal to a lot of people, and a more "historically accurate" portrayal (for example of pederasty or how common slavery was etc.) would b v difficult for a lot of their target audience. alas.
medieval and early modern era:
the name of the rose (1986) - my medieval history teacher literally showed us bits of this movie to teach us about monasteries and monks fhdosiasdjasd.
the borgias (2011-2013) - incredibly messy, lots of political intrigue, and so so fun to watch. about the history of the borgia family. filled to the brim with drama.
the three musketeers (1993) - my favorite adaptation, also coincidentally the one i grew up on. casting tim curry as richelieu was genius. he slays so hard.
i also like bbc's the musketeers (2014-2016) - a neat little series. very fun and entertaining to watch.
outlaw king (2018) - like i dont think most ppl heard of this movie. its about robert the bruce's fight to reclaim the throne of scotland. starring chris pine
vikings (2013-2020) - its fun. i havent watched the entire series tho. dont expect anything resembling historical accuracy
the northman (2022) - you will see something resembling historical accuracy
mihai viteazul (michael the brave) (1971) - a fun movie. very much romanian propaganda tho.
1670 (2023-) - such a fun series!!! incredible cast, shows respect to the actual history and the lives of historical people. really cute and funny.
caravaggio (1986) - a biopic about caravaggio.
wait i also forgor about pentiment - an intriguing, immersive, and incredibly beautiful video game! it has a lot of 'the name of the rose' vibes, with it being a medieval murder mystery taking place in a monastery. its incredibly touching and made me cry, and in the last few years i very rarely cry. also im 99% sure its an indie game? go support the creators!
vaguely-medieval/early modern fantasy:
mirror mirror (2012) - a retelling of snow white. a very fun movie imo, with incredible costume design. julia roberts plays the evil queen and she SLAYS. armie hammer is unfortunately in that movie.
stardust (2007) - one of my fave movies growing up. more modern-inspired but still.
the green knight (2021) - controversial i know but i actually loved this movie! i liked it both as a standalone movie but moreso as a 21st century adaptation to sir gawain and the green knight.
galavant (2015-2016) - !!!!!!! one of the most series ever! they manage to tackle such difficult concepts and conversations with a hilarious wit. so fun to watch. i listen to a lot of the songs still, and rewatch every once in a while.
disenchantment (2018-2023) - very fun to watch, especially the first season.
i also really liked the novel uprooted by naomi novik. its a polish-inspired fantasy.
modern era:
killers of the flower moon (2023) - of course. a masterpiece
aferim! (2015) - a romanian movie set in 19th century wallachia, about two officers, a father and son, who were sent by a nobleman to retrieve an escaped enslaved romani man. a lot of the people in the comments were calling the movie humorous and funny, maybe im missing smth (as im watching with subtitles n dont understand the original language) but it was a very difficult watch for me??
the handmaiden (2016) - need i say more
black sails (2014-2017) - a prequel to the famous novel 'treasure island'. not an easy series to watch. incredibly good.
the favourite (2018) - need i say more pt 2
the rabbi's cat (le chat du rabbin) (2011) - animated movie set in early 20th century algeria. a rabbi's cat learns to talk overnight.
the nice guys (2016) - a fun murder mystery set in the 1970s
o brother, where art thou (2000) - a retelling of the odyssey set in the southern us in the 1930s
victor/victoria (1982) - set in early 20th century paris. julie andrews pretends to be a man and takes on a job as a drag queen. extremely fun, extremely gay movie.
lady chatterley's lover (2022) - very much porn for moms but it was a nice watch imo
amulet (2020) - set in like. idk. sometime in the 20th century. this is a horror movie, deals a lot with misogyny, sa, and so on. i really like it, personally. a lot of people, mostly weird men, dont tho.
the great (2020-2023) - i have mixed feelings about this show. on the one hand, its really fun to watch. on the other hand, its basically ofmd for girls who have public mental breakdowns whenever someone claims corsets were oppressive. and theyre so weird about russians, jesus christ.
disses:
domina (2021-) - i just couldnt get into it, esp since i tried right after finishing rome hbo. it was kind of silly, and not in a good way. takes itself wayyyy to seriously.
i didnt like spartacus (2010-2013) - the dialogue was almost grotesque and the editing, especially the transitions, straight up killed me
damsel (2024) - holy fuck what a trainwreck of a movie. absolute waste of angela basset and robin wright. the only good thing were the costumes.
lancelot du lac (1974) - i just didnt like it at all. couldnt get into it. i guess it was way too french and artsy fartsy for me. a movie that was trying to say both too little and too much at the same time.
i didnt rly like bram stoker's dracula (1992) - i mean. it was a fine movie. it was definitely not the godfather. the movie itself was meh. the visuals tho? absolutely stunning

IDEA: Desmond gets turned into a creature of your choosing, just has to be able to “write”. And yknow how we always go with the ‘his writing becomes illegible’ thing? What if all of his writing is unreadable except the word “Desmond”. Drop him in with Ezio and watch the chaos unfold.
I was thinking what creature we should go for and my brain just went ‘screw it, go with Slime Desmond so we don’t have to think if the creature can actually use a quill or if he’s using his hands to write’.
Then my next thought was “Wouldn’t it be funny if Desmond could write ‘Desmond’ but he can only write it in a specific language that Ezio doesn’t know? Like… the Isu script?” but you know what would be funnier?
Desmond had always been an intelligent creature.
He used his strange body structure to make creative shapes that Ezio would be able to decipher and understand. He was the best scout and planning partner to have.
His uncle believes Desmond was a descendant of the slime ‘companion’ the legendary Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad supposed had.
If he was, Ezio could see why everyone believed Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad was the best mentor the Brotherhood ever had.
Desmond made everything so easy that Ezio knew he needed to not depend on him too much. He needed to be able to stay on his own feet. To show that he was a formidable Assassin in his own rights.
That was why he asked Desmond to stay in Monteriggioni while he went to the Vatican to finally confront Rodrigo Borgia.
He focused on the safety of his family, knowing it was Desmond’s soft spot.
And it worked.
Desmond stayed and Ezio went to Rome alone.
And then he heard Minerva’s message.
‘Desmond’.
She specifically said Desmond’s name.
Desmond wasn’t a usual name and…
It was the only ‘word’ Desmond could write.
So when he returned to Monteriggioni, he briskly walked towards Desmond and crouched in front of him. Desmond’s entire body seemed to be vibrating slightly and Ezio pointed at him as he asked in an almost panicky tone, “Desmond?”
Desmond created too slimey appendages and pointed at himself, waving the tentacle-like appendages furiously.
“Desmond!” Ezio repeated and Desmond began to vibrate more noticeably.
“Desmond!” Ezio said cheerfully and Desmond started bouncing in front of him in pure joy.
“Why is my brother repeating Desmond’s name?” Claudia whispered from behind them, looking both confused and tired already.
“I’m not entirely sure…” Mario answered as he rubbed his chin.
“Ah, of course!” Ezio grabbed Desmond midbounce and held him in his arms before turning to face his family and allies. He recounted Minerva’s message and what he had seen, making his allies wear different expressions on their faces.
When he got to the part where Minerva specifically said Desmond’s name, Mario’s eyes widened as he asked, “Nipote, are you saying…”
“Yes.” Ezio raised Desmond to his eye-level as he proclaimed…
“Desmond is a messenger like Minerva! He keeps writing the name Desmond because he is looking for him!”
Desmond’s happy vibrations immediately stopped and then…
WHACK.
A tentacle appendage suddenly appeared from Desmond’s body and smacked Ezio behind the head, making the Assassin yelp in surprise and let go of Desmond.
Desmond quickly hopped away from them and went straight for the secret door that would lead to the Sanctuary below.
“What? What did I do? Was it supposed to be a secret, Desmond?!” Ezio followed the slime, already knowing it would be sulking behind the statue of Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad.
… leaving his family and allies back in the office who stared at the secret entrance.
“…………. well… who’s going to tell him that Desmond is angry because the obvious answer was he’s the Desmond in the message?”
“I will respectfully decline. For one, I don’t want to argue with Ezio about how that idea is foolish as this Desmond is meant to be alive centuries from now to save the world.”
“O dio mio, does that mean our Desmond used to be Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad’s Desmond?! Is Desmond immortal???”
“I’m going to bed. Wake me up once my brother stops being stupid.”

I was just thinking about The Borgias and how one of the changes from history had an intriguing consequence for its own narrative.
The Borgias focuses on Rodrigo's children by Vanozza dei Cattanei, and I think suggests that they are Rodrigo's only children in order to simplify things. But IRL, this core trio quartet did have older half-siblings, at least including two older sisters (Isabel and Jeronima) and a brother (Pedro Luis).
This matters to the family dynamics in The Borgias because, historically, Cesare was not the firstborn son. The various firstborn-son privileges went to Pedro Luis because that was a perfectly normal thing to do and Cesare went into the priesthood—also perfectly normal for a younger son. And then, when Pedro Luis died, his privileges fell to the next son who could receive them, Juan.
But in The Borgias, Cesare is the firstborn. So Juan getting the duchy and the military career and basically every secular advantage is genuinely quite strange.
There's eventually some blahblah about Rodrigo actually having a master plan for Cesare with a hereditary papacy or whatnot, but this seems a pretty weak retcon to me. To me it seems like show!Rodrigo just bypassed his firstborn son in all this for not much of a reason beyond personal preference, which would be a really big deal in their social context (even as depicted in the show).
I don't think their dynamics suggest Cesare was recently disinherited; I think Juan has clearly been given the firstborn son treatment for a long time.
The interesting thing about this to me is that steamrollering Cesare into the priesthood and handing everything else over to Juan would be such a weird slight on Cesare that his resentment and longing for Rodrigo's validation make a lot of sense in his context.
At the same time, all this makes Juan's position very shaky on paper, because Rodrigo could just push Cesare back out of the priesthood and actually treat him like the firstborn son if he felt like it, and people would probably think this was more appropriate. And IIRC Rodrigo actually threatens this at one point, so it's not just a theoretical possibility. I personally don't think show!Rodrigo would ever have really displaced Juan (least of all in favor of Cesare, on whom Rodrigo projects all his self-loathing). But it makes a convenient bludgeon to get Juan in line.
And I don't think Juan knows that Rodrigo wouldn't actually do it. But I do think he knows that his position and privileges are dependent on this apparently arbitrary, highly unusual choice of Rodrigo's that could easily be changed. And I suspect this plays a major role in how Juan thinks of himself and Cesare, and what their dynamic is on his side as well as on Cesare's.

You ever think about how no other couple in any TV show has the sexual and romantic chemistry depicted by Francois and Holliday? They are the standard by which I compare every other on-screen couple to and nobody has yet lived up to them.
Cesare’s softness and look of adoration when he directs his gaze towards Lucrezia…especially in Season 3. Wow. Lucrezia’s calculated seduction of Cesare and her own subtle surprise and delight at how far she can take him…in those Season 3 scenes you feel the weight of 2 seasons of buildup and more broadly, of the lifetime of love they have for eachother. All because of the way the actors did their job.
It’s the crazy chemistry that makes C and L a fascinating couple to watch, read and write and in my opinion, one of the top reasons The Borgias is worth watching. A one of a kind chemistry, for sure. It is obvious that the actors behind the scenes were friends (didn’t they date briefly?) because while acting is acting, it almost feels like they’re “synced” in some of the scenes with their movements and gazes looking so comfortable and natural.

Match up for @coffeebooksrain18
THE BORGIAS MATCHUP
I ship you with CESARE BORGIA. I don’t think there is a single thing that won’t let this relationship happen (unless it is your own mind, of course)! Even from your zodiacs, you two compliment one another (Cesare is a Virgo who are said to have Cancers as some of their greatest matches). You both are humans with emotional depths who see a very different approach to life which can easily help one another figure put any problems. Yet the two of you are stubborn people, causing sweet banter between the two of you at times. Rarely would he argue with you though, he can bare to see someone he loves in turmoil so do not worry that your stubborn nature may cause fights. Cesare lives in a world of deception and you are a brutally honest person, and for once, he would feel as if can trust someone again. He would see you as something pure, no mater what you do. And your sweeter side would remind him of a gentle nature that world still has. RUNNER UP: Giulia Farnese
HEADCANONS
Being Lucrezia Borgia’s favorite lady in waiting had definitely came with perks, that much you had known. But the love of Cesare was not one thing you had expected. When Cesare had first cared for you, it had been more of the idea of you rather than your own self. This idea of someone he can trust in this world, who is so pure yet so ambitious excited him more than anything. Cesare did not hide his affection towards you at all, spoiling you every day. When he had saw you reading historical books and fantasy books about dragons, he bought everything he could to have your heart. To have you. For whatever reason, he believed that by simply complimenting you and buying everything you liked, you would waltzed into his arms and call him ‘love’ (this partially worked. While it did not go as extreme as his delusional head believed, you began to care for him in a way you sworn yourself not to).
When you finally allowed him in your heart, he was surprisingly gentle? He was a man who lusted for blood, repeatedly asking his father to give him command of the papal army. You believed he would not be gentle which is why you kept him out of your heart. But Cesare holds you so gently, peppering you in kisses every time he sees you with a boyish grin on his face (growing up in the Borgia family never let him grow properly, but with you, he found the lost child in him that finally found a place in your arms). While he was cardinal, he kept you a secret. Not in fear for his reputation, but rather your reputation. In case you ever stopped loving him (he would not even allow that to ever happen), you would not be known as Cesare Borgia’s mistress, or a whore. And shall anyone call you that, he will gut his heart out, cut his tongue and leave his body to rot.
When Cesare finally resigned from his spot as Cardinal, he had ran to his father. He firmly asked his father to let him marry. To let him marry you. Rodrigo had refused, you were a simple lady in waiting and marrying you to his eldest son brought no strong alliances. Although you were distantly related to the Sforza family, he knew that no matter what he would do, the Sforza family would never side with the Pope. For the first time in so long, Cesare begged. He begged his father to let him marry you and if he does, he will do anything Rodrigo asked him to. But again, Rodrigo refused. I’m anger, Cesare took you in the night and married you in secret by a paid Priest with Lucrezia and one of your siblings as your witness. When Rodrigo told Cesare to marry a French girl, he simply raised his hand to show his wedding ring, claiming that he married another girl in the eyes of God. His father, however, refused to let that marriage slide ans quickly annulled it, saying it was ‘done’ without the permission of the Pope. He then would send Cesare off to marry, but when Cesare returned, he came with an army and no wife except you.

how the hell did my dumb little blog get here? i never once thought that so many people would be interested in my hyperfixations and photoshop experiments, but here we are! to hit 22k in ‘22 is a pretty cool achievement, so thank you so much. thanks for everyone who has stuck with my blog, everyone who has seen it and decided to hit that follow button, everyone who has supported my gifs and everyone who has ever left a kind word in my tags or inbox - you have no idea how you have brightened up my days.
a follower celebration is long overdue (i had one planned at 20k and procrastinated so, well, here we are)! so how do i celebrate? i feel if i have a 'brand' for anything on this site it’s colours, so i have decided to do a little colour palette meme. if you’d like to participate then:
> chose a colour palette from this site (you can create your own or use a premade one!), you can use its name or just send a direct link > send it to me with a character, dynamic or show of your choice and i will make a set within that colour scheme > please only ask for things i blog about (you can use the search function on my blog to look for it!), i’m afraid if i have not seen the show or do not like the character/ship i will not create for it - but hopefully you’re following me for something already! > this is limited to just my followers as it is celebrating the wonderful people who have chosen to follow my blog
i also wanted to take the time to give a shoutout to all the people who make me scroll through my dash endlessly and produce content that never fails to make me gasp! honestly once i follow you, you’re pretty much stuck with me forever, but here’s to some of my favourites! you’re all incredibly talented and kind people and it’s my honour to be following you. i’m also incredibly paranoid that i have missed people so please know that if i follow you and you’re not on this list i love you, i just have a memory like a sieve! and without further ado, follow forever under the cut:

What’s the?
Worst ask you’ve gotten
Weirdest ask
Funniest ask
Dumbest ask
Creepiest ask
Second ask(so I don’t bombard you)
What are your favorite?
Tv shows
Hobbies
Food
Movies
Scent(for example lavender)
Music
Book genre
1. Worst ask you’ve gotten?
Oh, I don’t know. I think anon hate is so pathetic that I don’t even make note of it. Even antis needing to be nasty about a ship or interest I have amuse me more than anything else. Anon asks demanding that I post or demanding to know when I’m posting something can be pressuring and rude. It can make me feel like I’m not doing enough or that I’m failing readers, so probably one of those. Those can actually hurt.
2. What’s the weirdest ask?
The anon ask for pictures of my feet probably wins. I’m sure it was just a troll fishing.
3. What’s the funniest ask?
God, I could never narrow that done, I’ve gotten asks where I can’t breath I’m laughing so hard. These days, Maggie headcanons have me wheezing.
4. What’s the dumbest ask?
I always say there are no dumb asks. Only if someone asks something on a post they clearly did not read all the way through that has the answer to their question. That always makes me chuckle a little, but we’ve all done that before.
5. What’s the creepiest ask?
Any anon asking anything super personal, like where I live, my relationship status, etc. 😬

Thank you for recommending more amazing blogs!
I'll be sure to check them out!
and oh my god I know right the costumes?
and listen, okay, they aren't even a little accurate for any kind of time period they are supposedly represting but on top of all that they are also so boring and bland?
Like okay for peasants sure, they have better things to do that worry about fashion but this is royalty come on!
Especially if it is supposed to be a statement!
Don't get me started on wigs, the one that offends the most other than the entire Velarayion family is Daemon's!
Like look what they did to my boy?
Matt Smith is a very attractive man with very unique features and from what I saw short hair suits him best.
And yeah I know he has long hair in the books but if you can some many liberties with everything else surely it wouldn't bee asking too much right?
I think I love him when returns from the stepstones the best other than the ugly ass crown.
that hairstyle suits him.keep that.
Aemond's actor has a face that is suited for the long wig keep that
Heleana is actually invisible most of the time so I don't mind the wig
I guess we can forgive the Aegon one too, looks a little too fake sometimes tho,the man is pretty so he looks good anyway I guess
while on subject of hair and wigs, Rhaenyra's when I read the book I kinda imagined Lucretia from the Borgias or something? The elaborate hairstyles and all?
Meanwhile what is up with Rhaenys, didn't she have darker hair in the books?
I swear to God these writers put everyone in the wig and made absolutely everyone not distinctive so that whole Rhaenyra has bastards more obvious.
Kinda reminds me of that whole Cersei and her kids debacle when hair was used as distinctive trait because apparently all of Robert's bastards had dark hair and that therefore mean she is cheating and like?
Ok I know she is but that is most flimsy excuse for some cucking someone ever?
Like did Robert have a Lannister bastard somewhere? How do you know that Lannister genes just aren't stronger huh?
But yeah feudal society and all that jazz.
But seriously when I saw that they cast mostly black actors as Velarayion's I was kinda confused?
I don't particularly care either way but like they weren't in the books were they?
Kinda felt to me like they were leaning really hard into that Rhaenyra's kids are bastards obviously because look they are all white as hell or something?
Like I hope it's not something like that but that casting makes no sense and of course everyone was amazing in the miniscule roles they had but if this is supposed to be some sort of representation for anyone, they really dropped the ball?
They seemed to be kinda portray as greedy and bitter or just not important at all?
Rhaenys is old and bitter and overall a moron in Aegon's coronation scene, doesn't seem to have any connection to any of her family despite growing up with them?
Corlys just seems to be there to be disseagred by Viserys and Otto both for being too greedy.
Laenor is just a witless gay love interest.
Laena is crazy and delusional and completely unimportant and apparently content being Daemon's doormat despite having the biggest fuck off dragon there?
I saw people saying her death was epic?it was stupid, what it was,was stupid.
Traumatic for her kids and Daemon, horrifying for herself and it manages to make everyone in that keep look like an absolute moron how exactly did that heavily pregnant woman manage to escape all of you?
Like it comes off as surface level cool her and Rhaenys both but then you consider it and it's actually a dumb, like remember the time Daenerys burned all the food vagons or whatever in season 6/7?
This is worse.
And that's this whole family,Baela and Rhaena don't even have a character other than to show that Daemon sucks as a dad despite the fact Laena would have kicked his ass for it and aslo why would he a terrible father?I don't understand this take?
And of course the one scene that involves the Velarayion's is when Daemon the crazy white guy inbred supremacist went and killed the innocent completely in the right random brother of Corlys that spoke the truth about Rhaenyra and her kids despite the fact that every normal ruler would have them killed too,all so the mainstream audience can yell afoul about racism and white privilege and crazy Targaryens and Daemon the psycho? They literally recreated Ned's execution here but with racial implication, with Daemon being Joffrey and the executioner here and this is somehow respectful and we'll handled to anyone?
Not saying that black actors can't be villians or be killed by white villians but I am just saying that an obvious social justice racial implication was tried here.
Everyone here comes across as one dimensional and bland expect Daemon and they keep giving the Greens more and more poor baby traits but it clashes so badly with their established characters that it gives a whiplash?
Like I am not sure if I should be concerned or not,I go to ao3 and Aemond is one of the most popular characters, tho this is usually common when a character is unbelievably bland, blank and boring and a conventionaly attractive actor plays them,so what does that say about this character?
People rewrite him to suit their needs I guess.
No but seriously, they gave the Green characters sad backstories but no character to speak off and agency, not to mention on top of all that because they changed so much characters come across as idiots.
Especially with all this fantasy bullshit too.
Heleana sees the future, doesn't do shit with it other exposition because they established it so poorly that they need to remind you somehow that this story ended in a bloody dynastic dispute.
Because really what does Rhaenyra and Aegon have with each other? They haven't spoken to each other once!
Why is Aegon convinced that Rhaenyra is good for the throne when he's been raised by anti black team and doesn't know her personally?
Why doesn't she want the throne is he that aware and concerned about his short comings and yet he doesn't absolutely anything to change it and the people in the Green team just apparently love miserable people who apparently the entire world is against that refuse to shit for themselves and expect pity from you?
Seriously the coronation is a out to happen and this guy is in a brothel?Okay that should tell us he doesn't respect the position, terrible spoiled, privileged etc but no apparently that was him trying to not get crowned or something?
Seriously the plot is trying really hard to make you sympathize with him but like okay of he was supposed the spoiled privileged son of the king and he doesn't want the throne and yet he is still here enjoying privileges? Is he insane or an idiot?is everyone here just insane?
Mf ffss you have a whole ass dragon you could have been in Naath by now!
Done,no conflict, expect maybe if they put Aemond or something but neither he or Aegon are the rightful rulers here.
I wouldn't trust this guy with a bowl of cereal much less the kingdom?
This is supposed be the guy that dismissed Otto and put Aemond the psycho as his hand?
But this again has been put here so the green team could look innocent in comparison because look Aegon didn't want the throne and mean Rhaenyra started all this
Listen being complacent and not doing anything is just as bad as doing something.
There was plenty of time for this guy to dip but no because the actual character isn't like this.
Aemond is a straight up psycho. They legit gave him psycho killer he was bullied as a kid backstory. And that apparently justified everything else. The fuck?
This idiot that openly talks about treason on someone's funeral and openly admits that he would steals his brother's wife and that he deserves the crown because he is obviously so much better than his weak incompetent brother?like anyone who likes this character,I am not judging I am just saying you made a bold choice.he comes across as a parody of what the writers think they wrote Daemon as and Daemon is still better because grrm didn't give Aemond depth at all and you can just see who's the better writer
And then this fucker is arguing about rights and the rightful heir and calling people whores and bastards, don't these people realize how insane they come off across?you are defending this maniac killing someone who in his standards is collateral damage because he has better blood or because your mother and father are actually married?insanity.try and justify this to anyone who isn't a crazy blood supremacist
Like the show itself stated that Rhaenyra tried and failed which means uncomfortable lay back and think of England already with a gay person but wouldn't that also means that Leanor is probably just infertile considering bit obviously isn't Rhaenyra
But obviously Rhaenyra is at fault for everything and Daemon too probably
Not to mention Aemond and his siblings are all half breeds too so even by his own crazy blood supremacy logic this doesn't work but he is a man so of course he is better and they call him a feminist
Man was blind and deluded when he had both eyes now he's just insane too girl bye
Honestly for heaven's sake if this was a murder mystery Aemond is that one idiot who bragged about how much he hates the victim and that he learned this really cool slashing trick with his new cool sword.idiot.
Why isn't Aegon afraid of him or something? He bullied him with the others too or does Aemond just see people who aren't family as okay to belittle and trample? Isn't this something they usually accuse of Daemon too? Also Alicent is shown being okay with this too.You may cuff him about at home as much as you want but outside we are united.Or something.
Also not a fan of this whole dragons don't listen to their riders thing either, like bye.Iy just so happens that the one time the dragon goes crazy is the one horrible act that Aemond pulled on his own volition?
I can't even blame the dragon here, you chased the child with it what was Vhagar supposed to do here?
Alicent is a straight up delusional doormat too.Under the impression that if she married Rhaenyra's father they could still somehow be friends, wanting Rhaenyra to respect the rules and be as miserable as she is because she lacks a spine and the show wants me to believe that they are still somehow friends?
And the show frames Alicent as helping her and being sad as if she is in the right here too!!
At least Aegon and Alicent both parallel the absolute lack of spine here that's something. Ah but Otto forced them both and yet they accepted.
And the show tells me Otto is a good father and wants the best for the kingdom or something and Daemon is insane ahah sure Jan.
Alicent know what the fuck she was doing what exactly prevented her from asking Viserys how Rhaenyra is on their nightly talks? She could have went to Rhaenyra too!
It is a miracle that no one saw any of it and ruined someone's reputation and made a scandal.
Viserys annoys so much too.How does someone compare your brother, your heir,to like the worst person in your whole family tree and you just go yeah but he's still my blood so I am stuck with him.
Imagine your siblings being compared to like Ted Bundy or Jeffrey Dahmer and you not decking whoever just told you that shit right there.Especially as the king.
Meanwhile the one time Corlys says anything even slightly iffy about Viserys,Daemon immediately cuts that out.
Like seriously Viserys how does Otto know this much about your daughter and brother,he is spying this is a red flag what normal monarch just waves this off?
Sword prophecy is stupid too.
And Daemon murdering his wife just didn't happen full stop, there is a difference between adapting and cheery picking to suit your biased needs.
Tldr;the show is wildly inconsistent, thank God for the cast and the brand because otherwise?doom.
@shokos-lazy-life
Damn, this was much.
I like Matt Smith in every wig except for the ones starting from episode 8. the short one was my favorite, with the episode 3 one my second favorite.
Childhood Helaena's wig w/o braids was atrocious.
"while on subject of hair and wigs, Rhaenyra's when I read the book I kinda imagined Lucretia from the Borgias or something? The elaborate hairstyles and all?"
I imagined Rhaenyra's hair to mostly be loose before marriage and both loose, up, and in updos after marriage. Lucrezia from the Borgias is a great reference, loved her hairstyles. Her style in general, female aristocratic Italian Renaissance style in general really. Yes, Rhaenyra would be decked out like her.
"Meanwhile what is up with Rhaenys, didn't she have darker hair in the books?"
Yes, she inherited black/dark brown hair from her Baratheon mother, Jocelyn. The daughter of Alyssa Velaryon (Jaehaerys I's mother) and Rogar Baratheon. As she gets older, Rhaenys gets white strips in her dark hair.
"Kinda reminds me of that whole Cersei and her kids debacle when hair was used as distinctive trait because apparently all of Robert's bastards had dark hair and that therefore mean she is cheating and like?"
This is in canon as well, that all of Cersei's kids are blond, which later inspires Ned to look through the Baratheon family notes. He finds out that Baratheons, even when having bastards with Lannisters, have dark-haired scions. So in the case of the Baratheons, the probability that the kid of a Baratheon and any other house will turn out to have dark hair is very high. High enough that it's justifiably expected.
"But seriously when I saw that they cast mostly black actors as Velarayion's I was kinda confused? I don't particularly care either way but like they weren't in the books were they? Kinda felt to me like they were leaning really hard into that Rhaenyra's kids are bastards obviously because look they are all white as hell or something? Like I hope it's not something like that but that casting makes no sense and of course everyone was amazing in the miniscule roles they had but if this is supposed to be some sort of representation for anyone, they really dropped the ball?"
In the original lore, no the Velaryons had pale skin. I conclude so because Westerosi makes it a point to note that the person they are looking at is dark-skinned (Daella's, Saera, and Cersei's reactions to Summer Islanders), and all the descriptions we have of Corlys, any Velaryon, and Laena and Laenor never describe skin color. Europeans and white people and their fictional analouges tend to not mention skin color in anything written about people when their skin is as pale as theirs.
A problem with making it a point of "making it obvious that they are bastards" through skin color and race is that in the original lore, the boys' dark hair could have been argued in-world as coming from Laenor through Rhaenys and that Baratheon dark-hair gene. (I don't believe these boys came from Laenor because that guy was very unwilling to have sex with a woman and barely spent time with Rhaenyra before their sons were threatened).
There was some sort of tension with how one can detect adultery, adultery, and parentage in the character's environment. Once you realized this one element of the hair is enough to throw these blood purist aristocrats who wish to usurp Rhaenyra to take advantage of her socially-demonized sexual activities for their own political goals. Once again, they had no way of telling the parentage, and to bring up that the boys might have inherited Rhaenys' hair would throw off doubters not for "truth's" sake (at least about parentage), but to protect those boys and Rhaenyra from ridiculous blood purism, misogyny, and greed. It's meant to signal to the audience this game of thrones/royals, that such things as what parentage and fidelity mean is really just too slippery and unreal themselves, subject to human will and cleverness.
However, the show making the Velaryons black primarily bc the writers and producers saw these actors as useful to just show how those boys are bastards reinforces the blood purity. We're just superficially using race and colorism to reinforce how Rhaenyra slept with someone outside of marriage and that's all, folks. She's more open to condemnation instead of us looking critically at the game being played. Why is it so important to make it "obvious", what point are the writer and producers making here? Why should we care that it's "obvious"? If you read the original lore well and consider who these people are, if you have even basic critical thinking skills, it's clear that these aren't Laenor's kids.
That was never the issue. The issue was that Rhaenyra's castigated and humiliated for finding sexual autonomy, safety, and intimacy when she was forced to marry a gay man for her father and Corlys' political goals and had to have kids or risk losing her position as heir and future Queen--since no one wants either a barren woman nor a ruler who can't produce heirs.
This story is about how a woman was destroyed, not how she was worth destroying!
The other thing is that it is disparaging to the black actors and Velaryons. The actors are basically used primarily as tools to criticize and demean one white women's adultery. It doesn't take their acting chops into consideration, and their race, rather than being about representation in fantasy media, is the primary casting requirement simply to again highlight other white actors and their character's conflicts.
Again, this is if that was the producer's primary reason for casting black people to play just the Velaryons. But there is heavy misogynoir, espe with Laena Velaryon dying a gruesome death that realistically no one would want or seek unless they were severely mentally unstable. And yes, in canon, she dies surrounded by family, including Rhaenyra. She tried to go to Vhagar, but to fly one last time with her, not to get flamed out of existence. Laena's death was unnecessarily more brutal than it was. There is also a known link to the practice of self-immolation being gendered, as some cultures have widows burn themselves after their husbands die, which implies that she has no purpose without him alive.
Also, it's not fair we didn't get to see her claim/ride Vhagar independently and thus be a dragonrider apart from any shared scene with Daemon. finally, we don't see how she processed being arranged to marry what looked like a 50-yr old man at 12.
"They [the Velaryons] seemed to be kinda portray as greedy and bitter or just not important at all? Rhaenys is old and bitter and overall a moron in Aegon's coronation scene, doesn't seem to have any connection to any of her family despite growing up with them?Corlys just seems to be there to be disseagred by Viserys and Otto both for being too greedy. Laenor is just a witless gay love interest. Laena is crazy and delusional and completely unimportant and apparently content being Daemon's doormat despite having the biggest fuck off dragon there?"
Corlys in the book was very eager to have a Velaryon marry into the Targ house to have grandkids/great-grandkids who are Velaryon for the prestige and influence. That was just accurate. As for Otto and Viserys's reactions to Corlys, I saw those scenes of them dismissing Corlys as negative on their part, not Corlys. I was on Corlys' side. continuously pushing him off regarding other stuff, like the St But they could have shown the Velaryons in their environment, amongst themselves, and how they interact, their dynamic as a family apart from the Targs. Corlys didn't need to be this simple guy that maester's notes couldn't expound on due to time difference and distance. Also, lack of care or imagination on the part of the writers.
Laenor was never a love interest precisely because he was gay. And he already had a lover in Joffrey. He filled a role that both acknowledged in their agreement, and for his show! witlessness, yes it's annoying considering that in the canon he stayed with her more often once their son Luke and the tensions got higher b/t Alicent and Rhaenyra:
I already talked about Laena.
"Like the show itself stated that Rhaenyra tried and failed which means uncomfortable lay back and think of England already with a gay person but wouldn't that also means that Leanor is probably just infertile considering bit obviously isn't Rhaenyra"
I don't think Laenor was infertile so much as he really couldn't bring himself to stay and commit to the sex repeatedly to inseminate Rhaenyra. I imagine they tried twice or three times and that's all Laenor could handle. And it's actually not a predictable or controlled thing, insemination. Sometimes it takes 5 tries for conception, sometimes once.
"And of course the one scene that involves the Velarayion's is when Daemon the crazy white guy inbred supremacist went and killed the innocent completely in the right random brother of Corlys that spoke the truth about Rhaenyra and her kids despite the fact that every normal ruler would have them killed too,all so the mainstream audience can yell afoul about racism and white privilege and crazy Targaryens and Daemon the psycho? They literally recreated Ned's execution here but with racial implication, with Daemon being Joffrey and the executioner here and this is somehow respectful and we'll handled to anyone?"
Never heard of this thought. I think the audience is just upset that a black man got got by a white man, but considering how the Velaryons are not black in canon and this is about a class dispute rather than a racial one, I think people should throw this idea out. Daemon kills Vaemond in the book, and by Rhaenyra's express order, too. It wasn't a race thing.
"This idiot [Aemond] that openly talks about treason on someone's funeral and openly admits that he would steals his brother's wife and that he deserves the crown because he is obviously so much better than his weak incompetent brother?like anyone who likes this character,I am not judging I am just saying you made a bold choice.he comes across as a parody of what the writers think they wrote Daemon as and Daemon is still better because grrm didn't give Aemond depth at all and you can just see who's the better writer"
Aemond wasn't saying he would "steal" Aegon's soon-to-be sister-wife, quite the opposite. He meant that if Alicent allowed it and if it was useful for their Ussurp-Rhaenyra cause (doing his "duty"), then he's gladly legally married Helaena. To castigate Aegon for not being willing. Aemond is very unserious, though, for putting it out there that he'd love to be the king over Aegon and not keeping that shit to himself, both in book or show.
"Also not a fan of this whole dragons don't listen to their riders thing either, like bye.Iy just so happens that the one time the dragon goes crazy is the one horrible act that Aemond pulled on his own volition? I can't even blame the dragon here, you chased the child with it what was Vhagar supposed to do here?"
Yep.
"Viserys annoys so much too. How does someone compare your brother, your heir,to like the worst person in your whole family tree and you just go yeah but he's still my blood so I am stuck with him. Imagine your siblings being compared to like Ted Bundy or Jeffrey Dahmer and you not decking whoever just told you that shit right there. Especially as the king. Like seriously Viserys how does Otto know this much about your daughter and brother, he is spying this is a red flag what normal monarch just waves this off?"
This made me laugh. Yes, there is a discrepancy, huh, bt how Viserys regards his brother and vice versa?
Viserys seems to want to over-placate and make the more powerful/least under his control (or so he thinks) person be willing to do his bidding after the example of the conciliatory Jaehaerys I. Problem is that Viserys' position and circumstances are different enough from Jaehaerys' that he needed to apply his might more.

CONTINUATION OF THE LAST POST: “Comment on a fanfic, by fanfic3112 :
https://archiveofourown.org/comments/257329109?add_comment_reply_id=257329109
“On one of the videos it was the director of the show and they were saying that frankly they weren't sure how this would go over on China's TV. Neither the stars Xioa Zhan and Wang YiBo nor the director had any idea it would be so big. The director went after the artists that best fit the story, not the biggest or most popular, for that reason. The director just wanted to tell the story as accurately as possible but still have it pass the censorship board. No one was prepared for its level of success or the attention it has gotten both in china and abroad. That has been truly surprising. (That's exactly what yurt on ice director said about that anime as well.) They went on to say they had to remove parts of untamed to pass the censorship board but nothing that hurt the final production or took away from the story. (I love it when something just takes off and no one expects it!). Japan has been putting out yuri, yaoi and boys love somehow since at least the 70's (things like ai no kusabi that show bdsm, nonconsentual sex and some hot erotic graphic sex) and yet they have had laws against same sex marriage and weren't openly for same sex relations (even though NiChome is filled with gay clubs). In the US they have gay pride parades, gay’s week, gay clubs, in most states gay marriage are allowed and on cable channels like HBO, Netflix or sinner cgannels like crunchy roll you can find BL shows with sine hints at sex and shows with gay characters with no hints of sex on regular TV, you still even in the auS would not find much on regular TV that showed as much or more than "untamed" showed. Which I had never really thought of, ‘til they started talking about the censorship board in china. We have had open sex scenes that showed naked females and breasts and a naked males ass and them in a bed implying sex for years (like since at least the 80s) on cable channels like HBO (that had really great movies and shows on it!) and you could even buy the playboy channel that had more specific sex but was not really good shows. Yet on regular TV shows still they showed less but they have started including gay characters and gay relationships on the regular tv channels (just no specific sex scenes that showed much), shows like “shameless” and “orange is the new black” gave main characters that were gay and were super popular… On HBO however you had “Game of Throwns” and I don't know how many great historical dramas that showed nudity, had gay characters and skin showing and sex scenes and a flash of penis (which I had never seen til thus last year) and some gay characters in bed. Still to this day, for some reason, on all channels it seems ok to show breasts and a naked woman's ass in whole body but it's rare you ever see a dick. They'll show a guys ass but rarely his dick. Game of Throwns showed more of all of that than any series I had seen bad a kazillion people watched Game of Throwns and I'm sure got HBO just to see Game of Throwns and bought the DVDs just so they didn't miss an episode and yet I never heard a word about the gay relationships or the nudity of males or females. Series like “The Borgias”, “Reign”, “Spartacus” (with a really popular gay couple) kind of set the stage for the level of nudity and both gay and straight relations shown in “Game of Throwns”… Still my point being however it was on a cable channel that people purchase separately and know there is "hopefully" going to be more adult shows (although I don't know if teen and family did watch Game of Throwns (the ones that had HBO), cause Game of Throwns was in the school and public libraries and even 10 year olds could tell you everything what’s going on! This goes back to tote belief I realized parents had (when I held an anime club in middle schools, high schools and libraries) some distorted view of kids knowledge on their exposure and knowledge bad accessibility to sex and sex related viewing, topics and materials. It was an 11 year old who first told he about ai no kusabi, la blue girl and another kid in the group told me about Finder.
Every single kid from middle school to high school in every anime club I've gad has switched those three and so many girls are into yaoi and BL at that age they gave usually always seen all the big ones like a gravitation and Loveless and since so many girls love yaoi and BL from middle school on up they gave seen it all. Most of them now are more familiar with terms like pan sexual, Demi sexual, metrosexual, asexual, non binary than the adults around term. Which is funny since the adults around them often don't gave a clue of their level of knowledge. I had a parent recently telling me she was opposing the school sex ed and them handing out condones and showing birth control methods like the pill in class or discussing alternate things like oral sex in that class or discussing same sex relations. I never know what to say to parents like this because her son is someone who told me he is nonbinary, polyamorous he loves theatre and music and he is very open to gay relationships and certainly if this hasn't happened sex could in the near future. Probabably he at 12 knows everything this class would cover (cause he goes constantly on the internet and has his own Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and three 3 tube channels she has never watched). That's the odd thing, parents don't listen to kids. They just assume because they look young they don't think about things like that or know how to find it on their own or have access to actually doing it. Which is all completely not true. I won't go into my many experiences that show this is so not true. I also post info to clubs still on anime and live versions of anime coming out at theaters and have chaperoned many of the anime groups I took to anime conventions and movies so I try to keep up with what they are watching and what's new. What's funny is on one of these amine convention trips I brought back all of these cool anime posters, postcards and promos I was given lots of and the kids just grabbed what they wanted. Later I was called into the principals office and gad to meet with two sets of parents. Both outraged at the material their kids brought home. (Any parent or school personnel could sign up as chaperone for these anime convention trios but rarely did a single one of them). One parent was also on the school board by the way. The other parent was someone who occasionally sent snacks to the club but I knew was forbidding her daughter from taking art classes (even though she was an amazing artist and had multiple journals of anime drawing and was trying to start her own web comic) and forcing her daughter to take or engineering even though she gated math and wasn't that good in it so had to do tutoring and an after school program for math which she also hated and it left her no time to do sports or anything rose like gang out with friends. So I thought of all kinds of things these kids could have picked up or bought at the convention but looking through stuff I had given them as promos I couldn't imagine what these parents were so up in arms about (but all of the girls who went liked yaoi and BL and there was plenty there so who knew!) when I got yo the meeting however it was all over a postcard advertising Afro samurai (which is a really old anime they were rereleasing bad he had a cigarette in his mouth) and another postcard of a female character off gurren Logan that had a girl in shorts with her navel showing holding a gun leaping across the postcard. I was like hopefully they didn't notice the postcard of sobi kissing Ritsuka! I didn't hand those out but most of the girls and two of the boys got them. I pointed out on both cards, their kids had already seen both animes, as had most of the kids in the group. There weren't a lot of black martisl arts heros and Afro samurai reflects an earlier age and it's basically a rerelease so it's no difference than watching reruns of bonanza or Ironsides and seeing characters at that time smoking. No one was trying to promote smoking to kids.
Maybe his parent should take the time to watch Afro samurai, narrator and done of the anime his son watches and find out why he liked that particular one and talk to him about not smoking then. I invited both parents to chaperone next time or just take their kids on their own. They both said they didn't have time. I pointed out maybe they could watch at least a few episodes of the ones they found objectionable and then at least they woukd understand why their kids were drawn to these shows and characters. I pointed out on the girl with a gun in anime they rarely say how ok'd cigar actress are and even adults and elderly characters can be presented in chibi form but the character on the card is an adult female who shoots at people who are the enemy and no different that a spy show or Miami vice or any cop show on TV, there are good guys and bad guys abc they have guns, tanks, weapons of all kinds although in many cases like baruta they also often use martisl arts, throwing stars, but slosh knives and they did kill people just like on regular TV. Both parents looked like I had a third head, asking where they could have seen these shows? I pointed out they were on crunchyroll/funimatation/Cartoon Network and some anime on Saturday morning cartoons and anime, manga can be found free online on utube or other sites. I though their heads might pop off. They didn't know what manga was (although I knew the son owned the entire naruto, berserk, full metal alchemist collections. The girl had at least 50 manga, mostly BL). I explained anime/manga had same adult content as TV shows. In future I was told not to hand out nudity/smoking/weapons promos. I didn't point out showing a navel wasn't nudity and his daughters shirt that day exposed her midriff. Nor that school security carried guns. There is censorship in everything and much if it is illogical.
• Daoine : There is still a lot of hypocrisy in this world. Too many parents with the attitude of 'if my kids don't see it, they won't do it and it won't exist'. Being a Gen X woman who was went through my teens in the 80s and twenties through the 90s, I can tell you some of these parents are lying to themselves. I know the shit my generation did. Groupie sluts, doing X and going to raves, shit! Now, I look at people my age and they act like they NEVER! It's all BS. I grew up with the anime and manga you are talking about. There is nothing wrong with it, although there are anime with themes I wouldn't recommend for pre-teens or even teens. However, there is something wrong with a parent who doesn't want comprehensive sexual education taught in schools. These people are the ones who make the world dangerous.
• fanfic3112 : I agree cause whether you tell them or educate them someone else will if you don’t or they will end up doing things they aren’t educated on without the knowledge they need and they and the parents will be stuck with the convenience plus kids will have no one to talk to when they really need it. I think parents are so behind the times in what kids are exposed to and with no effort have access to and are often faced with from peers and situations they are in...now really as early as age 8-11. They still have that chibi cute look but they are put in situations that in the past kids didn’t have to deal with til they were older teens and young adults. If you don’t talk about that and at least give them some preperstion and let them know you understand that and won’t be shocked or appalled to talk about what comes up then they are stuck with the he said, she said and the “come on everyone’s doing it”
• Daoine: Access is easier than it was in my day, yes, but situations still the same. I lucked out as a kid and my mom was not shy about having any open discussion with me or my siblings. Truthfully, if the subject is demystified then it is understood even by kids.
• fanfic3112 : That's true of drinking as well. I would let my child try a sip of what I was drinking (which my child usually didn't like) and taught my child about wines and how different ones accent the flavor of food (and took my child with me to wine tastings) (just like I took my child to symphony's, plays, musicals, madrigal feast, museums, art gallery's with me from the time my child was 2-4). My child learned how to act and had a blast and loves music and art. When my child went off to do study abroad for the first semester of college in a country where the legal drinking age was 4 years younger than here, I knew my child would be fine but on the other hand most of her fellow students who went with her failed the semester cause they drank all the time and one literally had to be hospitalized for alcohol poisoning. I taught her how to drink sensibly and responsibly if she ever wanted to drink and didn't make it taboo but discussed it openly. Pointing out to drink water before during and after drinking, don't drink on an empty stomach, dint drink anything strong, sip your drink, how to tell the alcohol level of a drink and how that works in relation yo the number if drinks you have, your weight and other factors, to never drive and drink and how drinking can effect you with just one drink based on the alcohol level and if you've eaten it are dehydrated or tired and how it can interact with medications. To this day she's never been interested in alcohol. I think if you make anything taboo that you know they will be exposed to and don't educate your child on it and it can have horrible repercussions if they do it, then you are just asking for trouble. Because there is nothing kids sent exposed to now. I have a friend who honestly thought her parent controls she set on their computer kept her kids from looking at things she didn't want them to see and from using social media. Until my daughter showed me her daughters webcam site and Facebook, where she was posed provacatively in a teddy at 12 and had been doing this for at least a year but had the Facebook account and been chatting on line with strangers since she was 8. I think pretty much any kid 12 or older now knows how to get around parent controls, knows how to access online porn, either has social media accounts or knows how to set up one if they want to. Her son had two utube channels, Facebook, Twitter, etc including one where he did online gaming and showed this on utube but also interesting identified himself at 14 as Asexual and when asked went on in depth about why he didn't think he was gay but nor did he feel necessarily heterosexual but was Asexual (when he had barely hit puberty, so who knows what he will feel next year) but he apparently chatted with a lot of other gay, bi and asexual people on line about this and could explain each option even though his mom had opted him out of the "human body discussion component" of his PE class (like a pre sex ed) because she didn't think he was ready to know about these things. By the way all three of her kids liked anime and when I asked them they had all seen both since no kusabi and la blue girl (tentacle porn). Kids get more savy younger and younger every year but often by 15 or 16 they are much better at finding anything on line they want to and hiding it, than their parents are.
• Daoine: If I had kids I would be just as educational as my mom and you. I decided to not have kids and don't regret that decision. Also, I control my drinking, she did the same thing for me. I now have a drinking limit of three glasses if I'm drinking a mixed drink or a glass of wine, if I'm drinking wine. I do love to go to wine tastings. I'm lucky enough to live near East Texas, so I can hit up some of the local vineyards. Never mix beer with wine. I learned that the hard way. I was much like your daughter as a teen. I didn't understand the attraction to being out of control.
• fanfic3112 : Yeah with my child what was funny was when she went on this trip she was on scholarship and it was her first semester. She was so looking forward to being immersed in another culture and seeing and doing the things she had seen, read of or heard about in another country! Still she had hoped for done commraderie from her fellow students who went with her. She was the only student on scholarship and the other students were in an income bracket well above her. So for example when she wanted to scout around for the deals on money exchange they laughed at her and left her and did not return from their group transportation. When she wanted to go do the many free activities and events they didnt wanted to go with her. When she wanted to go back with another group earlier to campus and share the expense as opposed to coming back home later and paying a much higher fee for transportation, again they laughed at her and mocked her. They themselves came back much later and had to pay over five times as much to get home. She later found one of them on the floor in the hall in a pile of puke and they had to hospitalize her for alcohol poisoning. The other students had just left that girl on the floor throwing up, just as they had left my child while she was trying to change money at a location you got a much higher rate on the dollar. Only one of them didn't either fail that semester or have to go back early and drop the semester out of over 13 students. They all said they didn't care cause their parents would just pay to get them in another program (and they probably did). The one girl that got they later was on campus and (because of who her parents were and the alumni money they paid) they let the girl who left a person laying in puke to die, become an RA. She providing alcohol to freshmen and allowed them imbibe other illegal things and imbibed with them, involving a guy RA who got busted with her. She was fired and left campus. My child on the other hand really bonded with the students who were from the country she was visiting. Took advantage of two homestay host family opportunities with local families. Since then had many of her foreign student friends come to visit, been on other trios with them, stayed with her host families afterwards, correspond with them every year and they have put up her other friends who have visited. Plus (because she didn't have much money) she signed up for all of the free or low cost (like $10-20) excursions through her school and the other country's university. Since they had not signed up for these they couldn't get into any of them so she would see them try to buy other peoples Tucker's paying them much more for their ticket to how in their place or trying to Sneak into the events by bribing security. Either way she leads had the prime seats because she signed up early. These were all either excursions that were a minuscule fee but if you didn't have that special rates costs 100- 250 minimum or were scheduled only for that specific meet and greet or outing for those students as a special event. Things like meeting with the cast of Sherlock or a backstage pass to the Harry potter play send a meet and greet with the cast or a meet and greet with the famous soccer player at the match with seating in a prime VIP area.
• fanfic3112 : Not only did these students think they had so much money they didn't have to preplan but also they didn't recognize how difficult it would be to find other opportunities to meet these people or participate in other versions of these events. Because they begged her she finally helped them find tickets to one event that she knew some other students couldn't go to but they were so horrible when they were there she never helped them again. They were rude snobbish and said cultural inappropriate things.then because she hot there early she still got the prime seating position (and was really nice sync excited about being there) so she was the only one the soccer player did personal pictures with and he gave her his towel! Which they tried to buy from send literally tug away from her (along with others who wanted that towel) so she hot led out of a separate entrance with the soccer team people were being so handsy. They managed to sneak into or bribe their way into one of the other events where some of a hit TV show cast were at. My child had requested in advance to take photos thru their PR people before she even came to the country so other than their own PR staff on hand no others were allowed to take photos and they had yo leave phones and cameras at the door with security. Because she was taking photos and had been introduced to them sell when she first came in as being the only student there who could take photos they kind of hung out with her and let her get up close to them where others had to stay behind a barrier most of the time. They cast also had their own friends and done family at this event and there was catered food send drinks available and in that country everyone was of legal age and they carded everyone. My child was focused on taking photos so drinking free drinks was not a priority to her. These other students who managed to get in we're sucking those free drinks down send acting accordingly. At one point they tried yo sexy they were with her to get passed the barrier they were not allowed to cross (send they were embarrassingly drunk by that point and yelled out obscenities. One of the cast members (hot male star with his girlfriend) said "I know how it is to have drunk friends. They look looped!" And she told him they weren't her friends and figured they just crashed their way in. Which was a good thing cause later they snuck in again after being ejected and she was tight in front of another star tasking a photo and he was smiling at her being a tempory DJ, posing for the photo, and she had the one poster they have out from the event that they had all signed for her under her arm while she was shooting. These students grabbed the poster out from under her arm and tried to run away with it. Luckily the other actor she had been standing by saw them and had security grab them send toss them out again and hot the poster from them (which was now ripped but at least still in one piece). It had been the one poster on the swell at the event and it had been hard and time consuming to meander snout saying "can you sign my poster" without looking awkward but she had managed. It wouldn't have berm posdible to get another or to get people to sign it again. The worst thing was they had insignia on one of them for the college she was at so everyone started trying to find out of they were either her send she had to assure them they weren't. Even though they supposedly had so much money, the tickets she helped them get from fellow students who weren't going to be able to attend the earlier soccer mustache and they were going to pay them three times what they had paid, of course they never paid.
• fanfic3112 : My child had told these students yo make sure they hot the money upfront and because these students were so known to have lots of money they let them get away with saying "we will pay you later". Later their reason girl not paying those students was "it turned out not yo be that much fun anyway and they didn't even get to sit up from in the VIP seating (where no child was because she got one of the first tickets) and they didn't get their picture with the star athlete. (My child was the only one that got to go on the field, he took a selfir with her and gave her his cool towel around his neck). That's cause she was yelling her brains out, came dressed in his team colors and even had makeup on (kind of like war paint) in his colors! If they had gone to that much trouble maybe they would have gotten a selfie either him. Her whole trip she was focused on seeing and doing as much as possible and making the most of each opportunity so also went to every local dance native dance tutorial, student tea, enrichment opportunity both on campus send off campus and at many of these they had either gift cards, trips or tickets you could win. The ones they went to if bourse they didn't bother to sign up for such trivial things as these. So she won bus tours, overnight stays at B&Bs, train and boat cruise passes and theatre passes. She did winery and dustilkary yours (and brought me something back from each) and tours of famous places from movies like Downton Abby, Sherlock, Game of a Thrones, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings. Then when she was down to the end of her semester and almost out of all of her money she had left she got her flight extended to several days later by paying a small fee and made hostel reservations in several other locations using the things she won she hadn't used yet (rail pass, B&B stay, Bus tours, castle/historic passes) combining these with a family stay (her host family arranged with friends) splitting the fee of one stay with a person she had met on one of the bus tours had used already and by selling one of the bus tours she had duplicates of...she took off to see more of the surrounding countries on a quick whirlwind tour before she left. I was scared of this cause she had just a few pounds left after travel arrangements and no other money nor did I have more money to send her. She planned on eating dried soup packets and convenience store food and pastrys she had gathered with water and tea from bags with her. She had never stayed in hostels and these had costs only 8-10 pds (and seemed sketchy to me since hotels here are $75-$125). Then on a ferry she put 1pd in a slot machine (who does that with one of their last pds??) and won $200 pds (kids heard the coins fall and came grabbing up her pds off the floor, so there were more before she shoved them out of the way!) that was $325 in the other country! I thought she was kidding when she told me! The hostels were great and so was the trip! She ended up with money for good food and souvenirs.”

8 Shows to Know You
I was tagged by @apersonwholikeslotus! Thank you <3
I'm assuming these are like comfort shows?? Or ones we like. Also, I won't put Hetalia up here because let's be real, if you're here you already know I'm down the rabbit hole so it's a given. These are in no particular order
Avatar: The Last Airbender, there's quite literally nothing I can say about this show that hasn't already been said. It's amazing, do go watch it.
2. I love Outlander. I fell off around the middle of season 4, but the first two seasons are my favorites. I should probably go back and catch up at some point.
3. The Borgias is a guilty pleasure for me. There's plenty of inaccuracies, but I don't really mind them too much because the character writing is off the charts. If you're into the Renaissance, intrigue, and/or fucked up family dynamics I'd definitely recommend.
4. As crazy as the costume inaccuracies drive me, I also love The Tudors and I'm forever mourning that they took it off of Netflix. It unironically has one of the best depictions of Mary I (at least in her youth) I've ever seen. It did slip up a bit with Katherine Howard, but that's unfortunately not uncommon in Tudor media so I just have to take the L on that one.
5. Like everyone else I love this family, and I am anxiously waiting for season two of Spy x Family. Big rec for the found family fans.
6. If I could go back and watch Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood again for the first time, I would. Like Avatar, very little I can say about it that hasn't already been praised to death.
7. This was one of my first anime, and it still holds a special place in my heart. I really do hope it gets the Fruits Basket treatment someday with a proper reboot that covers the whole manga.
8. Over the Garden Wall. This show shaped me, I love the narrative and characters so much. The aesthetic is also great. I also felt very seen by Wirt as a kid (and dressed up as him last Halloween haha)
I think I'll tag @the-phoenix-heart @moderngamebantam and @maelerie but obviously y'all aren't beholden to!

ok so i'm re-reading blood and beauty once again, and i have to say that sarah dunant is the superior borgia fiction writer out there. i absolutely love her delicate and evocative writing as well as how she brilliantly humanizes the characters through compelling narratives. not to mention her attention to detail and meticulous research creates a rich historical backdrop, immersing us in the fascinating world of the borgia family. she also has an exceptional understanding of how hot and terrible cesare can be while still making him nuanced. it's a personal win for me as someone who's pretty much bored of his character being softened up and romanticized in other works. the more he does something awful, the more compelling he becomes to me (although he wasn't romanticized much in showtime's the borgias but his image of an over-ambitious, sadistic, gaslighting, and manipulative guy seems to appear innocent that watchers tend to overlook it, and some of his misdeeds were dumped onto juan, like making him the only one having an affair with sancia of aragon when cesare was involved as well, or having him kill lucrezia's lover, paolo, etc., which is why i wasn't as interested in cesare as i was in juan because juan does nasty acts, but you get an idea of why he did what he did and still find the human in the heinous.) the most phenomenal writing part for me was to not lean into the rumors by not having cesare kill juan because it's closer to historical reality. and as much as cesare's 'from envy to fratricide' pipeline can be groundbreaking like how it worked in showtime's the borgias, dunant proved that juan's murder can still be astounding without the fratricide. because even if cesare did have a tempting motive to kill him, as he wanted his position so badly, cesare's letters to him make me doubt that he ever had any involvement in his murder since the letters show so much fraternal love. i also want to add that rodrigo's deep love for his children, while being self-aware and devastated over the fact that he uses them and forces them into roles they're incompetent for and marriages for political gain, was a standout aspect in the book. in short, the book is emotionally engaging because it delves into the intriguing world of the borgia family's renaissance. imo, it's a must-read for borgia enthusiasts.
#historical fiction writers wanna be sarah dunant so bad but they could never i fear#blood and beauty is my roman empire actually#excellent characterization and amazing dynamics goddamn#and soooo beautifully written too like !?!?#and kinda historically accurate so...#it is perfect sorry#blood and beauty#sarah dunant#the borgias#house borgia#borgia#the borgia family#books and libraries#literature#historical fiction#historical figures#cesare borgia#juan borgia#historical drama#text post

Minette watches Medici, part 24 (The Fate of the City)
-I am doing this because I am a completionist, but like. Guys, I'm gonna level with you. This finale might've broken me. (No, my broken state has no relation to the horrible truth that has recently surfaced about my favourite author of all time, whyever would you ask?)
-First things first - the central conceit of this episode is an attempt at Savonarola's life. Which is an idea so monumentally stupid it made me instantly check out of this episode. Like, even Lorenzo realizes that he's going to make a martyr out of him, to which Guido's only reply is "well, they don't know for CERTAIN so they will hesitate and that will give you time to crush dissent, or something". Because if the angry mob (and killing their favourite preacher right in front of them is going to make them VERY angry) is known for something, it's its deference towards the presumption of innocence. And no, noone's gonna buy the whole "some dudes from Ferrara who disliked him for unrelated reasons" schtick. Not after Savonarola makes what Lorenzo expected to be a fiery anti-Medici sermon. Sure, his tone is ultimately more conciliatory than that, but Lorenzo didn't know that when he was planning the murder!
-Besides, Savonarola didn't exactly keep the contents of his sermon secret untill he said it out loud; at least a couple of his associates must know what he was going to say (I mean, if his greatest enemy does), and it wouldn't be that hard for them to spread the news about this, or even organize an anti-Medici mob on the spot. Sure, MAYBE they will be intimidated by the murder itself BUT YOU CANNOT KNOW THAT
-And the kicker is, there are a dozen better ways to get rid of him! For one, it's not like reinstituting the old system and maybe even rigging it a little bit is going to cost the Medici. But even if they couldn't rig it, strategic retreat is a thing! And no, what was instituted after the Ten was disbanded clearly wasn't the old system of oligarchic rule, which would still favor the Medici and let Lorenzo regroup. Or, and hear me out - maybe try discrediting Savonarola somehow? Accuse him of heresy or some other made-up charge? Challenge his ideas on a public forum, like by actively advocating for the stability the Ten provides or something? Or mayhaps, if the murder is truly the only solution, something more subtle, to make it look like an accident? Poison, perhaps? Like, there are literally dozens of better, more clever ways someone as cunning as Lorenzo could use before resorting to armored thugs.
-And the thing is, from a writing standpoint, you don't need to do any of that; just make Lorenzo orchestrate the murder, then save Savonarola from the thugs he himself hired INTENTIONALLY. Like, saving the life of this super popular prophet would be the instant reputation saver Lorenzo needs and make much more sense than the Cesare Borgia shit he's trying to pull here.
-But that would kinda distract the show from Lorenzo's... Redemption arch? Like, what the fuck was that. I find the way the show is trying to shift the blame for Lorenzo's misdeeds on Guido especially heinous, as if the only thing that man ever did wasn't just to always push for the most violent and radical solution - a pattern so consistent that I cannot read Lorenzo even keeping him around as anything other than Lorenzo's own eagerness to always go for the most violent option. In a perverse way, Lorenzo (albeit untintentionally) and the show (absolutely intentionally) used the man as a scapegoat, a sacrificial lamb to cleanse Lorenzo's sins. The servant is brutally murdered by an angry mob so that the master might die in his bed surrounded by his loving family. Seriously, fuck this. Evil Advisor the worst trope. As @julyzaa once put it: "why is everything blamed on the evil adviser/ambitious wife/concubine these characters have not considered the person may be fucking dumb"
-Not that Savonarola doesn't make his own dumb choice. Seriously, dude, heckling your political oponent at his wife's funeral?! Time and place, my man, time and place. Then again, might just be a flex on how mad he can make people be at Lorenzo. After all, heckling a man at his wife's funeral, that is some anger and contempt, you know? The show doesn't even hint at this, but I'll be charitable this time.
-But oh, look, Minette, a Michelangelo cameo! Seriously, are you guys for fucking real?! I've only gotten used to Boticelli as a recurring character and I barely tolerated the Da Vinci cameo. DON'T PUSH IT.
-Of course, that isn't the most infuriating cameo by far, as my Machiavelli girlies would attest to. That's right, we did not have the time for the father of humanism in this humanism and renaissance show, but you know what renaissance philosopher DID make it into this show?! That's right, the one that every basic bitch knows, or at least think they know, because while it's only implication, the narrative of Machiavelli The Cunning Intrigue Man is still very much there, nary a hint of his well-attested republican sympathies at least earlier in his life, which greatly contrast with the philosophy espoused by The Prince and lend themselves to scholarly debate about what his actual intentions behind The Prince even were- Ahem. My point is, these writers didn't even so much as watch an Overly Sarcastic Productions video, which is some dedication to not doing research, let me tell ya!
-Great, so Bianca had returned this episode. Show, I don't care about Bianca and you cannot make me. Especially not by making her a generic Voice Of Reason, a role already fulfilled in a more interesting manner by the youngins (Giulio and Piero). Heck, I don't care about any of these assholes enough for Lorenzo's emotional deathbed moment to really land. Or any other moment of this episode, for that matter. Especially when they condemn Lorenzo on moral grounds, but none of them really points out that his plan is not only reprehensible, but also very, very stupid.
-The only time this episode did literally anything that actually worked for me was Lucrezia D's radicalization, because that was the only part of the plot untouched by Lorenzo's shitshow of a character arch. When she lets the altar boys take her stuff with a serene smile on her face? Amazing, what a moment. Especially since her husband doesn't seem too wild about that, hinting at how Savonarola's reign will turn against the anti-Medici oligarchs who supported him. Why, we could've had this plot as an official apology from the Hollywood for botching the Sparrow subplot in Game of Thrones... Alas, the show ends with Lorenzo's death and only mentions one of the most interesting periods in Florentine history in passing, so no dice.
-I sincerely hate that the only reply the show has to Savonarola's religious fanatism is "but the art is nice tho". Like, the show had a ready-made philosophy to counteract him right there IF IT BOTHERED TO INCLUDE FUCKING PICO DELLA MIRANDOLLA (even tho the man supported Savonarola and had his own religious phase, it's complicated). Seriously. Why the fuck is there no humanism in this renaissance and humanism show???
-And that is kinda my summary of the whole show, really. A few excellent moments, a whole lot of stupidity, too much renaissance, absolutely no humanism. 4/10, don't watch it. Unless The Borgias is even worse, so this is overall the best Italian renaissance show out there. I can't tell, I haven't seen The Borgias. Or maybe watch it, but only season 1.
#minette watches medici#medici: the magnificent#medici#and with that#i bid farewell to il medici#okay this is kinda sad actually#it's been years since i first saw season 1#maybe i'm gonna miss this stupid show?#who's to say

Hi... I wanted to thank you for your blog. Because it just makes me smile all those adorable AUs about assassins and the emotions you use in the stories.
I wanted to ask you an au that Ezio is a wolfwalker. ( If you havn't whatched the animation yet go and check it out. I love it.) Idk mabey he mistakened one of those wolves as a follower of romulus and got bitten or anything you thing is better. And when he noticed that he resigned of his post to keep everyone safe. Then the other wolfwalkers found him. And it just went to Ezio the mighty king of forest? But wherever an assassin is a templair is as well. They followed him, destroyed the his kingdom and captured Ezio. Kept him in a cage of the sign of victory. And then Ezio just got forgotten. Years passed but no one ever came to his dungeon. Untile one they he saw a figure before his cage. It was a man with a bright smile. Desmond...
Idk how it happened because Ezio is Desmond's ancestor and when did he have time to make a baby? My brain cant go any further help me.🙂
I’m not sure if you’re the same nonny but I hope you don’t mind if I combine the two asks.
(It always makes me happy knowing you all enjoy these posts which, let's be honest, only happens because of your asks and thoughts hahaha)
(I'm sorry it took me so long to answer this, nonny. I'm more than a week behind on asks right now TTATT)
For those unfamiliar with Wolfwalker, I agree with nonny, you should try and watch it if you can. Here’s the trailer for those who are curious. The animation is just superb and the story, while has a lot of cliché setups, still hits the heart and, as far as I’m concern, in the end of the day, that’s what matters.
So we’ll take the setup on how wolfwalkers are described. They have a human body when they’re awake and they have a wolf body when they’re asleep.
We’ll also go with the setup that Ezio becomes a wolfwalker during his time in Brotherhood when he was hunting down the Followers of Romulus.
Maybe, in this scenario, Ezio doesn’t mistake a wolfwalker for a Follower of Romulus, maybe the Followers of Romulus had captured a wolfwalker and was torturing it to give up the secrets on how to become a wolfwalker themselves because they believe Romulus was a wolfwalker thanks to the legend that he’s half-man and half-wolf. Maybe he was, maybe not.
The point is Ezio took down the ones guarding and torturing the wolfwalker and he tried to save the wolfwalker who looks like a dying wolf. He was being cautious about his approach but wolfwalkers seemed to have some kind of magic (that’s not fully explained) and was faster than Ezio anticipated.
In blind rage or perhaps delirious from the torture, the wolfwalker managed to bite Ezio on the shoulder before he slumped onto Ezio.
The wolf disappears in Ezio’s arms and Ezio’s Eagle Vision flashes for a moment, showing a gold inside the door to the left before he felt a sting in his head that forces his Eagle Vision to deactivate.
When he opened that door, he sees a corpse that was still warm.
… with the same wounds as the wolf that had disappeared.
Unorganized Notes:
Brotherhood still ends the way it did, only this time Ezio has to learn how to be a wolf whenever he sleeps.
It’s the greatest secret in the Brotherhood with only Machiavelli and Claudia knowing about it. Once Leonardo was no longer ‘employed’ by the Borgias, he also learned about it.
Ezio still goes to Masyaf because one of the Codex pages talk about the ‘wolfwalkers’. It’s just a single sentence but Ezio hopes to know more.
He learns that the Ottoman Brotherhood does have an alliance with a pack of wolfwalkers and they’re the ones who introduce Ezio to the wolfwalkers. In this setup, Sofia would be one of those wolfwalkers and Ezio decides to live with them after the end of AC Revelations.
Ezio helped make the pack grow into a small kingdom and he’s not officially the leader of their little kingdom of wolfwalkers and wolves but he’s one of the most trusted ‘elders’.
That’s when the Templars come and destroy his kingdom, having heard of them from one of the intercepted messages from the Ottoman Brotherhood to the Italian Brotherhood that talks about Ezio himself.
Ezio actually sacrificed himself, staying behind to take them down while the rest of his pack runs away, along with Sofia who, he did not know at the time, was already pregnant with his daughter.
Ezio gets captured and becomes a trophy. One of the most valuable ‘treasures’ of the Templar Order.
And Desmond? Desmond is a descendant of Ezio’s pack and (we’re playing loose with wolfwalker lore here now) wolfwalkers’ children are born human. It’s only when they’re bitten that they become wolfwalkers. By the time William Miles’ grandfather was born, the Auditore-Kenway-Miles line no longer had wolfwalkers (Edward Kenway, Haytham Kenway and Ratonhnhaké:ton were all wolfwalkers with Edward being bitten by his mother, Haytham being bitten by Edward and Ratonhnhaké:ton being bitten by Haytham during their final altercation) and only stories of wolfwalkers have been passed down to their family.
Desmond’s mother though, a direct descendant of Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad, was a wolfwalker but it didn’t come from the Ibn-La'Ahad bloodline, it came from the Al-Sayf bloodline. That’s why Altaïr only made one mention of it in his Codex, Malik had informed Altaïr what his family is later on but Altaïr never knew that his granddaughter and Malik’s son would get married. Ezio’s pack is actually descended from the Al-Sayf pack that got separated after the Mongols invaded Levant (this means that Sofia might or might not have been connected to the Al-Sayf blood depending on who had bit her).
Anyway, Desmond is the only wolfwalker recorded to have been born as a wolfwalker, instead of a human.
Cue Bill being a horrible father, Desmond runs away but this time he runs away with two wolf cubs who he befriended on the Farm (whether they were actually born in Black Hills or their mother traveled there for some reason is a mystery)
So either Desmond gets kidnapped by Abstergo and relives Altaïr’s life or we go for the wolfwalkers have wild magic route and Desmond and his two wolves actually find Ezio on their own because Desmond and Ezio are technically pack.
The two wolves are named Altaïr and Connor. (Whether they’re actually reincarnated versions of Altaïr and Ratonhnhaké:ton or if Desmond just had this feeling to name them that is up to you)
#wolfwalkers au#why yes#i did give desmond two wolves#because of princess mononoke#look#when i watched wolfwalkers#i couldn’t help but get princess mononoke vibes from it#anyway#uuuhhh#i guess let’s go for the usual tags?#assassin's creed#desmond miles#ezio auditore#ask and answer#teecup writes/has a plot#fic idea: assassin's creed#wolfwalkers

I favour no human race
As a yazata I have to judge every wrong done by any human race and any alien race, got that?
Meaning I don’t favour white people nor black people or any other race so if you’re gonna cry that I called put your cowardly race’s evil shit then get a brain check!
I ain’t human so guess what? Calling a god racist just proves my point that you humans are nothing but straight up cowards!
Dear humans: You break the law - especially the Universal and Multiversal laws - you get what’s coming to you!
Humanity broke so many Universal and Multiversal laws that it really shows why on J-Day that the human race will be going extinct!
Because you selfish humans care only about yourselves! Your laws protect evil doers like those who worship man made religions! Man made religions spread hate, war, actual racism, anti alien behaviour, real racism against demons which did nothing wrong ever in any demon’s life no demon did nothing wrong!
You black people think you have it bad? Imagine how demons feel as many work hard to protect innocent lives and others just live normal lives! But humans and evil spirits blame them for everything they do wrong like a bunch of cowardly racist hateful scumbags!
Dear humanity: Only one to blame for your evil behaviour is YOU and ONLY YOU!
Demons like all Nibirians resemble anthropomorphic bipedal sapient animals that have toony like body portions like big heads, big eyes, thin arms and thin legs, petite bodies, tiny necks, and can be described as clothed Animal Crossing characters, or clothed Sonic characters, or like clothed rubber hose toons, or animeish like toon like anthropomorphic animals in general…
They also have manes aka hair so they aren’t just furred, scaled, etc, so you humans? Yeah you’re the racist pigs here…
Man made religions caused zillions lives to die and how you may ask? Evil energy is created by doing either evil things or worshipping false deities aka worshipping false religions!
Evil energy then damages the Kosmos and causes shockwaves to be produced in self defense and the Universe cannot exist without a Kosmos as the Kosmos is the heart and soul of the Universe! Every Universe has a Kosmos! Humans are threatening all living things both normal and advanced by damaging the Kosmos with their hateful ass bloodthirsty man made religions of pure hate and evil!
Christianity? Islamism? Other man made religions? Deep down they all thirst for blood and death of innocent lives! They are outlawed in the Universal Council for a damn good reason!
Also you know how the false Messiah Jesus is commonly depticted as a white man? That man is Cesare Borgia an illegitimate son of Pope Alexander VI an Italian man!
Did the Roman Empire really fall? Or do Italians dictate over people’s lives still? Because why is Latin - an extinct Italian language- used like a holy language? Why is the false Messiah Jesus depicted as an Italian man? Why is the Vatican have their own government or why is the Vatican suspiciously near Italy?
Don’t believe Italians about the past as they’re nothing but hateful power hungry racist liars!
As the real Messiah I look nothing Cesare Borgia - I like all male Nibirians look pretty, cute, beautiful, and magical.
Female Nibirians are strong, rough, burly, macho, and tough.
So Nibirians have reverse gender standards to that of humans pretty much.
Nibirians adult wise average 2’0”-2’7” with males shorter and females taller.
Nibirian adult weight range is 2.5-4.5 pounds so we’re not heavy either.
Personally my god aka yazata form is 2’3” and weights 3 pounds.
You humans made things the way they are with how the gods and goddesses view humanity. Blame yourselves.
My profile pic is how a yazata aka a male god looks like.
Yazata aka gods/goddesses are winged bipedal anthropomorphic felines with manes, crystal horns on their head, three toed foot print on our torsos, five fingered paws, three toed feet, large eyes, white muzzles, lemonade yellow fur, males have fingerless elbow length glove markings on their arms and toeless knee length sock markings on their legs, ears markings, and males have eye shadow markings. Females have solid plain fur and thicker arms and legs but still way thinner then human limbs as like I compared us to rubber hose style toons should give you humans a good idea what we look like!
In short we look nothing like you and don’t share the same gender standards as you humans who love to force your gender standards onto others and force others to be like you and if others refuse you verbally and physically abuse them!
Nibirians can same gender reproduce as the child comes out in a light!
Meaning Ishtayr is the major villain here as she forced me a gay yazata - whom FYI yazata are either gay or rarely bi - in a unwanted marriage - then brutally tortured me with fire, physical abuse, flaming spiders, grape without the g which females can shape shift out a you know what - hurt my kids, my true lover Marduk, hurt my family - mass murdered millions with the help of humanity’s evil energy - and is The Great Evil herself reincarnated!
Ishtayr is nothing like other deities as she is The Great Evil herself reincarnated whom in the first Universe was unintentionally created and tried to murder everyone in the original First Universe but was stopped by me who sacrificed myself with a spell that shattered us both, causing the Multiverse to exist, I now in the Eighth Universe meaning the Kosmos regenerated a few times already have to face her once again!
Meaning femnazis? The Fell Goddess is female not male as you femnazi women love to attack men about everything! And what she did puts her as the Universe and Multiverse’s worst and most evil villainess in both the Universe and Multiverse!
So yeah? God who created the Universe, Kosmos, Multiverse? Me! God who’s domains are life, winter, death, reincarnation, resurrection, foxes, hedgehogs, darkness, dreams, nightmares, rainbows, moonbows, etc, got more but I am the real deal and also the Messiah aka Hero of Rainbows as what the true meaning of Messiah is in fact Hero of Rainbows!
If you LGBT give up your man made beliefs on J-Day I will spare your soul and allow it to reincarnate, while others will have to be judged properly…
Oh and trans people? Sorry my kind working in the Underworld aka Kohora made mistakes and got your soul reincarnated in the wrong gender body - we rather you get the help you require as long as you don’t worship man made religions which FYI most if not all religions are made by man - so just get help - unlike false deities we aren’t against it!
And Non Binary people? We kinda don’t understand you but my kind aren’t against you either really…
So yeah my kind the real deities aren’t so bad as we work to protect others, keep peace and order in the Universe and Multiverse, keep other planets safe, and keep the Kosmos protected.
And like I said during the First Universe that The Great Evil herself attacked? That was the only time Nibiru’s surface faced war! Since then no war has happened! Meaning Nibiru? Safest planet in the Universe and Multiverse! And this Universe which descended from the Original First Universe? Is the last universe to fight Ishtayr!
So yeah on J-Day? In order to save the Kosmos the human race simply has to go, the Reptilians aliens have to go, Ishtayr has to be down right destroyed, as my kind isn’t gonna let you humans get your way and destroy the Kosmos which would blow up the universe and will heavily damage other universes! So my kind is only coming to Earth to protect all other species in the Universe!
As while magical beings can escape such destruction - other non magical beings cannot escape and would perish if such were allowed to happen…
This is both a rant and truth post btw so you humans shouldn’t complain about a heads up to your future as you’ll need it in order to hopefully save your own soul as dying and reincarnating is better then dying and ceasing to exist completely!
My homeplanet can become intangible, invisible, and is way like way tons larger than Jupiter! We also have other magical planets for Nibirians to live on!
Kohora aka the Underworld/Below World exists below the Universe while above the Universe is Yumera aka Dream World/Dimension…
Koho means below while yume means dream so ra means world.
In Yumera there are creatures well you know the NiGHTS into Dreams series? They exist! But different looking! Ideya also is a thing but there are thirteen of them - hence why 13 is a holy number on Nibiru! 666 is too because of my dragon form which has six eyes, six wings, and six legs!

You do not by any means have to answer all of these, but I love when people talk about their own writing, their writing process, and where they got started with fanfiction (especially since you're the writer of a banger like tabula rusa!) so; 4, 18, 23, 28, 33, 44, 48, 49!
I only just saw this I'm so sorry!! I wasn't ignoring you at all, I love it when people ask me about my writing <333
4) What is your favourite genre to write for?
I am an angsty bitch at heart, it has to be said. I see a character go through unspeakable trauma and suffering and go: 'huh. I think they need some more of that actually'.
18) Do you have any abandoned WIP’s? What made you abandon them?
So many. So, so many. I try to orphan works I'm 100% sure that I'm never coming back to, just to avoid giving people false hope, but there are definitely a lot of them floating out there on the interwebs -- and a lot of WIPs that have been waiting years for the motivation to write to return. Usually, I just lose interest, or I have a new idea that I like better, but sometimes I write myself into a corner (the pitfalls of hardly ever planning, alas) and it's just too hard to get myself out of. I'm not proud, but that's the truth.
23) Do you prefer listening to music when you’re writing or do you need silence?
Honestly I can write either way, but if I am listening to music it's very rarely anything that connects to the story. I know some writers have fic playlists and stuff but I've never had that kind of patience, I just write when I write, and sometimes that has a soundtrack and sometimes it doesn't.
28) What is something you wished you’d known before you started posting fanfiction?
You don't owe anyone your writing. Even if it's a popular story, even if it's been years, even if you left it on a cliffhanger -- this is something I and a lot of others do for the love of the source material and story telling. It's not a job. You can just stop if you don't like it anymore, and that's absolutely fine.
33) What’s the biggest compliment you’ve gotten?
I've always wanted to go into writing professionally one day, and I'm currently on a bit of a detour from that main goal, primarily due to my CFS. Back during lockdown, I was writing a few oneshots for Smallville which was one of the shows I binged over that whole period, and considering it's a 20 year old show I wasn't expecting to get a whole lot of engagement. Then I got the loveliest comment from someone asking if I was published, and if I wasn't why. It made me feel really good about my skill level and ability, because I have been writing fic for over ten years now and although sometimes I will feel like I'm plateauing, stuff like that reminds me that I've actually gotten pretty good at it.
44) What is the last line you wrote?
It is from tabula rasa, although I'm not sure if I'm going to keep it in, as this whole next chapter is being a bitch:
“You need to have a purpose beyond being his child,” she takes a breath, like she’s steeling herself for something, but just says: “and he would agree with me.”
48) What’s your favourite trope to write?
I know a lot of people don't like them, and have good reason for it, but I have always loved reading and writing genderbends. The first one I ever wrote I think was for Stiles from Teen Wolf, but I've since turned a lot of canon cis male characters into cis female characters just because I love looking at how socialisation differs, how differently they're viewed and treated, how they might be fundamentally the same and different etc. Pretty much every fandom I've ever really gotten fixated on has had me produce one of these: I did multiple fem!Jon Snows, a fem!Thor that never saw the light of day, fem!Cesare Borgia (but a fictionalised Cesare Borgia, if that makes it any better?), fem!Umbrella Academy, am currently doing a fem!Spider... hell, I'm probably forgetting some I did and then orphaned. I just love them, they're like crack to me.
49) Can you remember the first fic you read? What was it about?
I cannot - statistically, it was probably Harry Potter or Percy Jackson, or something very similar. Although a very early one I remember reading and loving was a Wrong BWL fic which set off a small obsession at the time.
#thank you for your patience!! i'm sorry i took so long#for some reason i just didn't register this at all in my inbox#ask game#asks#my fics#about me#may speaks#tw harry potter mention#tw genderbend
