We seem to be back in the “dnd sucks why don’t you just play Other Games (yours)” and I have a single question for you in return

Do I get to roll a d20?

Because I like the d20

That shape pleases me

I do not wish to roll a random amount of d6s or d8s or any of them other fuckers

I wish to roll the d20 because icosahedrons please me

I will also accept d12 but the other shapes all have less mouthfeel so if that’s what your game’s based on, it is not for me

I’d also prefer more than four stats but I’m not gonna lie it is the shape of the math rocks so like

Baela rode Moondancer once in the dance, Rhaena never had a dragon till after the dance was over, and Rhaenyra never rode Syrax except when she arrived at Kings Landing, yet Baela has had multiple Moondancer scenes (as she should), Rhaena has been given Nettles' plot AND dragon, and Rhaenyra has had plenty of shots with Syrax and is now (allegedly) going to be teaching dragon riding 101 to the dragonseeds and will likely take part in at least one dragon battle.

But Helaena and her beloved Dreamfyre? nah. Her bond to a dragon just isn't important enough 😒

what about going to a parental figure's room after a nightmare and being comforted late at night?

what about found families cuddling on the couch under lots of blankets?

what about friends showing up at obscene hours of night to crash at their house because it's a safe place for them?

what about siblings sleeping on bunk beds or in separate rooms but end up sharing one bed anyway because they need to know that the other one is safe after a traumatic experience and their other siblings wake up before them and take pictures of them cuddling to tease them later?

what about reluctant found families or reluctant friend groups having to share a bed and as they drift off to sleep, surrounded by these people who they didn't want to get close to but ended up not only caring about, but trusting and relying on, coming to the realization that they would do anything for them???

what about platonic intimacy and being able to rest and rely on your loved ones because you trust them? what about that? huh???

i dont talk about him a lot bc i feel like i have nothing to say but kurapika is one of those characters i kind of lay awake at night over sometimes. because i just have no idea where hes going. with gon its because i feel like i could read 500 different meta essays and still feel like hes an ephemeral 4th dimensional being but with kurapika im like. this guy has already hit a narrative rock bottom. he knows how to get himself out of it and hes still digging. he is making himself miserable on purpose because he wouldnt be able to or want to do what hes doing unless he was miserable and its like what is going to happen to get you to STOP.
