I need you to know that watching and liking your last video wasn't enough, I need to wrap you in a cozy blanket and put a warm mug in your hands and tell you that some people are trash and that you are so brave and vulnerable and resilient and I'm so so sorry you have had to be any of those things, and that you are so so worthy of love and appreciation in any physical manifestation.
This is so sweet it actually made me cry ;_; i have lost so many friends here in LA who just disappeared because i can no longer do the more physical things i used to go out and do like long walks or strolling through museums without a ton of breaks. And the number of people who have told me that i just have to 'work through it' as if this is all in my head and not something that just....totally debilitated me in a matter of weeks.
i just feel like its so easy for me to be in love, but inevitably i end up with someone who doesn't want to love me in return. like its a habit i picked up from the abusive relationship or something. eventually you stop seeing anything in yourself worth loving let alone being attractive or god forbid 'se*xy'. i know I'm not the only person who feels these things but its still very isolating.

the first
being around the triplets since her junior year of high school created a close bond. nick being the one who introduced himself to her, seeing her alone sitting in the cafeteria mindlessly scrolling through nothing wanting to be anywhere but that place.
ever since, they’ve treated her like another sibling from what she thought.
“hi guys!” she exclaimed, walking up the stairs of their home. “this is my boyfriend, kian!”
a boy followed behind her appearing after coming up the stairs.
“y/n! hey, kian, i’ve heard so much about you!” nick came over to greet. she gave him a ‘stfu’ look, remembering all the facetime calls and snaps about her drooling over him.
“yoo! i’m chris, nice to meet you.” the pair joined matt on the couch where he greeted them with a smile.
“this is matt! he’s shy.” she poked introducing him.
“i’m not!”
“yea, even knowing them for years, i could tell them apart from the moment i met them.” she added to the conversation.
they were all sat at a table at top golf, eating and talking about things that made the others around them glare.
“i mean, there’s definitely features that y’all share, but i can tell-“ kian was interrupted by his phone loudly ringing. “my fault, excuse me.” turning away in his seat to not intrude on the side conversations as he answered the call.
the others remained talking about their looks and making inappropriate comments and jokes.
“sorry y/n, i have to go. my brothers car broke down again and he’s stranded.” kian explained gathering his belongings.
“again? he really needs to retire ol’ reliable. but that’s fine, just let me know when you get situated!” she replied receiving a hug and kiss on the forehead.
“it was real cool meeting you guys!” he farewelled, leaving the area after receiving goodbyes.
“wait.. now i have to uber home!”
“girl, you know you’re welcome to stay the night at ours if you want to.” nick reminded his friend as he wiped him mouth with a napkin. she smiled and nodded agreeing to his offer.
“you’re still hungry after all you ate at top golf?” matt teased at chris who was devouring the microwaved popcorn in his lap as the brothers sat around the living room with their friend as a movie lit up the room.
“mind your business!” chris remarked with a full mouth, throwing a handful in his direction accidentally hitting the girl beside matt.
“dude!” she screeched. he covered his mouth and looked away trying to play it off.
she poked matt quietly giggling as she pointed to nick on the loveseat who was fast asleep. chris took notice as well, laughing and decided to throw his snack at him.
nick jumped awake, searching for what just hit him. “chris- i swear! can’t even rest my eyes around you.”
nick stood up with the blanket wrapped around him.
“i’m gonna go lay down, y/n you can come in when you’re ready.” with that disappearing to his bedroom.
eventually, after finishing his snack, chris went to bed after the movie finished. matt glanced at his friend who was indulged in her phone.
“how aren’t you tired yet?” he asked.
“oh trust me i am.” she put her phone down and rubbed her eyes. he smiled, quickly looking away. she got up, making her way to nicks bedroom before quietly shouting, “night, matt!”
reaching nicks door, she softly turned the knob incase he was already asleep. the knob became stiff and wouldn’t turn fully. it was locked.
confused, she assumed nick just wanted to sleep.
the lights in the living room were off. she thought about going to chris but soon remembered he was most definitely knocked out.
matt couldn’t have been asleep that quickly. she tip toed to his door, lightly patting on the door. almost immediately it opened revealing matt in just his underwear. his eyes became wide unexpecting her to be at his door.
“um.. nicks door is locked. can i sleep with you?”
it wasn’t unusual, they all slept in the same bed once when their manager had messed up their hotel booking. this time matt felt different.
“sure, cmon..” he let her in the room. going straight for the bed, she layed down on the left side getting under the covers as he joined her with a slight dip in the bed.
the room was silent. the blowing of the air conditioner and occasional traffic noise cutting the silence. she trembled from the coldness even under the thick comforter.
she didn’t even know her actions were obvious until matt spoke, “you cold?” with a slight chuckle in his voice.
“a little- sorry.” she whispered turning to face him. “i usually cuddle with my plushies at home, don’t judge.”
his breathing picked up suddenly as he thought about his next question.
“do you wanna.. um- cuddle with me?”
she hesitated, but thought it was a good idea so she shifted closer indicating agreement. he wrapped his arms around her gently, taking in the various smells of expensive shampoo and sweet perfume. her head lied under his chin smothered into his chest, hearing his rapid heartbeat.
neither of them knew why their anxiety skyrocketed in the moment.
he couldn’t help but notice the subtle lighting from his window glistening on her face. it was so faint, he didn’t even realize she was staring at his gaze.
thank goodness for the angle, otherwise she would see his pink washed cheeks from embarrassment as he looked away. she tilted her head upwards, grinning as he drew his focus back to her, admiring her distinguished features.
something sprung his confidence strong enough to overpower the racing of his heart as he placed a hand under her chin, bringing her face closer. she didn’t react, assuming she was okay with the actions, he placed his lips onto hers.
the kiss was soft and loving. it almost felt like electricity through their bodies. she didn’t even think she liked him. maybe she just ignored the feeling, knowing his popularity wouldn’t allow them to form a decent relationship. she felt grateful enough to be as close with him and his brothers. forcing herself onto them was never the intention.
matt on the other hand knew from the start. they way she showed no deeper interest made him hesitant. he loved her personality and how she was introverted. it was easy to talk to her. once she announced her new relationship, his heart stung knowing he’d lost his opportunity.
she pulled back first. he thought he’d fucked up.
“i’m- im so sorry, y/n..” she was still in his embrace, not tense but comfortable and safe. he was confused.
“it’s okay. goodnight matt” she smiled and nestled into his chest.
he knew he wasn’t gonna get any ounce of sleep after that.
“chris! go get some napkin, i am not cleaning this up!” nicks voice was loud enough to wake matt up after hazily falling asleep a few hours later.
he had forgotten for not much longer about what had happened when he realized y/n wasn’t in his bed. he checked his phone on his nightstand seeing it was noon.
“where’s y/n?” he made his way to the kitchen where nick sat on his laptop while chris was soaking up an orange liquid off the counter with paper towels, seemingly close to nicks workspace.
“goodmorning to you too, matt!” chris mocked.
“she left early this morning. went to breakfast with kian to make up for yesterday or something. she didn’t tell you?” nick spoke not looking up from his screen.
matt leaned his body over the counter, “no- she slept in my room last night, since you were sleeping.” he felt a hot flash in his body remembering the moment before you fell asleep.
nick finally looked matt in the eye, “i wasn’t sleeping? i waited for her and she never came.”
“what? she said your door was locked!” he grew confused. did she lie? no she couldn’t have, it’s not like she meant to sleep in his room.
nick stood quiet for a few seconds. his face displaying confusion as if he was trying to solve the hardest equation ever. he grew excited once he figured out the answer.
“oh! i must’ve forgot to unlock it after i changed.” he exclaimed as calmly as he could.
“dude!”
matt thought he was angry for a second. this whole situation could’ve been avoided. was it a good thing? did he ruin everything?
the fall
“happy birthday dear y/n, happy birthday to you!”
her friends were gathered around the kitchen island of her cozy apartment. kian planned a small surprise get together for her birthday since she was far from her family and would celebrate with them separately.
she thanked the group and blew out the gold number candles as she cheered for herself gaining giggles from around her.
she went about the room, hugging each of her guest and thanking them for being there. once she got to the triplets she embraced them individually as she got to matt and he stopped her.
“y/n, i got you something- i think you should open it right away” he held a pink box with a white ribbon. it was oddly shaped and seemed fragile so she had him bring it over to her small brown sofa.
he placed it on the seat before sitting opposite to her to watch her reaction. the other brothers followed along standing over her to see what was inside.
she slowly pulled the ribbon until matt spoke, “i really hope it’s not too much, i just know you’ve been wanting one for this longest..”
the flaps lifted on their own as she jumped back, revealing a small gray kitten with green eyes.
her jaw dropped as her eyes began to water with joy. “no- you didn’t!” lifting the kitten free from the box. “matt! you’re unbelievable!” she pushed the container to the rug and moved closer to hug him.
“you’ve been posting a lot about wanting a kitten and i really didn’t know what else to get you- oh, and he’s a boy by the way..” he laughed watching her childlike expression.
“kian! come look what matt got me!” she called for her boyfriend who was chatting with some of their mutual friends. he made his way over as she held the kitten up in the air.
matt’s heart sunk slightly as she shared her happiness with kian instead of him.
no one was paying attention to nick and chris’s shocked reactions.
“aww, how cute.. damn i kinda look like a shitty boyfriend now!” kian joked obviously as she giggled along with him.
“what’s wrong?” she looked to the two brothers who were still confused.
“we had no idea he was getting you that!” chris mentioned as nick agreed.
“honestly, i didn’t want you guys to ruin the surprise with your big mouths!” matt argued playfully.
the night grew old as the guest died down leaving just the triplets and kian in her apartment. it wasn’t long until kian bid farewell explaining his early morning work schedule.
she already changed into plaid pajama pants and a white tank sweatshirt as she curled up on the couch petting her new addition.
“still not over this!” she referred to her present.
matt grinned feeling warm and accomplished knowing he made her happy. he couldn’t help but watch as she stroked the bundle of fur, giggling at each movement he made.
each person in the room jumped as a sudden clap of thunder roared. the rain was unexpected and loud enough to tell it was dangerous driving conditions.
“guys, you can’t drive in that. it’s storming,” her voice was of concern. “just wait until it dies down.”
just as she spoke the room became black as everything went silent. the power went out.
“shit! that scared the hell out of me.” nick yelled from his place on the couch.
“dude it’s freezing in here!” chris complained, although he wore the most layers than anyone preset. she had an idea.
“i’ll go get us blankets.” standing and turning her phones flashlight on.
“i’ll come help you..” a voice behind her spike as she shined the light right into his face making him cover his eyes.
“thanks, matt! chris hold my kitty.” she placed the kitten on his lap with no warning. he giggled at her choice of words as nick scoffed.
“okay, do you think that’s good enough?” matt was holding atleast 10 blankets in various fabrics and materials.
“definitely- why do you even have so many?” matt asked struggling to balance them all.
“i’m just a girl, don’t ask me!” she closed the closet door when her flashlight turned off on its own. she stumbled to find her phone before tripping over it on the floor, falling into matt causing him to drop all the blankets. they both landed on the bed not being too far a distance from the closet.
“i- ow, i’m sorry..” she apologized.
a flash of lighting shined into the bedroom window giving them both a view of each others face.
matt felt the familiar feeling in his chest, as well as a new one in his pants. she was lying right on top of him.
this time it was her who initiated it.
leaning in, she pressed a kiss to his lips to see his reaction.
he was taken back but knew what he wanted. he gripped her waist lifting her off of him and placing her fully on the bed. this time he placed his weight over top of her gently and moved his lips onto hers.
the kiss was different this time.
instead of loving and warm, it was lustful and rough.
it didn’t stop there, she wrapped her legs around him pulling his hips to hers. she felt his crotch solid against hers as he grinded into her.
they were so hungry for eachother they didn’t notice the light pattering of little paws stumble into the room.
continuing to make out, matt tugged on her tank top begging for it to come off. just before she started lifting her arms for him to remove it, larger footsteps entered the dark room along with a hushed voice.
“shadow- come back!”
matt leaped onto his feet after hearing his brothers voice. light beamed into the room as chris walked in flashing his phones light to find the kitten that hopped off his lap to explore his new home.
“there you are! oh- and there you are too” chris aimed the light to his brother and friend who was sitting on her bed. the blankets were scattered on the floor, but it was too dark for chris to realize.
“did- did you just name my cat?” she asked remembering him calling for shadow.
“i mean.. it’s fitting..” he said picking up the small feline.
“i love that! his name is shadow.” she cheered walking over to pet the kitten as if nothing happened. she didn’t want to act suspicious so she quickly changed her demeanor while matt stood frozen in his place unsatisfied.
a buzzing sound took place as the lights began to flicker back on along with the air system.
nick could be heard shouting in relief in the living room. “well.. i guess that’s our cue.” chris joked walking out the bedroom after handing y/n her kitten.
she glanced at matt, a soft expression on her face. he was flushed with red cheeks and puffy lips, his hair messy. she decided to walk out the room, leaving the awkward silence as he followed behind her.
“okay, i’ll see you boys soon- text me when you get home!” she demanded watching them collect themselves ready to head out.
chris and nick were already out the door just when matt was leaving when she called, “matt!” he turned with sudden movement, “hm?” he responded.
“um.. thanks.. for shadow” hesitating at her words.
he nodded. a grin forming on his face as he quickly turned away to leave her apartment.
the following
ding
the chime of her phone was loud and the light lit up the room. she was a light sleeper, but she always made sure her phone ringer was on full volume at night, in case of emergencies.
groaning, she turned on her side. grabbing her phone from her nightstand to check as shadow moved away from her chest to lay down at the foot of the bed, annoyed at the movements she was making.
matty: y/n?
she grew fully conscious seeing a text from him. eyes flickering to the left corner reading 3:15AM.
:yes?
the message bubble popped up almost immediately after being read.
matty: can we talk
she knew this would come eventually. though she wasn’t quite sure what part he wanted to discuss. it’s been 3 days since her birthday. 3 days since the incident in her room. the room she was currently in, on the bed she was currently laying on.
:??
matty: about thursday y/n
she sighed.
: matt it was a mistake
matty: in person
matty: can we talk in person
:it’s 3am
matty: i’ll come get you
matty: please
matty: i can’t sleep
she felt guilty. he couldn’t sleep, too busy having her run through his mind. she was tired, but if she didn’t settle this now, it would ruin everything.
: alright fine
the time flew by quickly. she found herself in an oversized gray hoodie, waiting for his text. it was long enough to cover her down to her knees, so she didn’t bother wearing pants thinking it would be a quick chat in the car.
headlights shined through her window before she received a message telling her matt had arrived.
she grabbed shadow and held him close, his little bell chiming as she bounced with each step down her apartment complex stairs. he was too young to be left alone, and who knows how long this talk would be.
the car door opened as matt nearly broke his neck to see her coming in.
“hey.. it’s cool if we go to my place?” he suggested, reaching over to pet shadow who was on her lap.
she wasn’t expecting a trip. nor did she dress for one. but it was a better idea than staying out in a car at 3AM. she nodded.
the drive was silent besides the radio playing lowly.
he let her in. “let’s go to my room- nick and chris are asleep,” whispering as he placed a hand on her back making her shudder.
matt and y/n were sat in the red sheets of his bed. shadow never left her lap, afraid of being in a new house.
“y/n.. i r-”
“it was a mistake, matt.” she assured him sternly. why did she feel like crying? she loved kian. though she was forcing herself to think about him in that moment.
“i don’t think it was.. i don’t think it was a mistake” matt pleaded. his voice was low but his tone made her swallow a her feelings down.
it was quiet.
“i love him-“ she chocked.
he shifted closer to her causing shadow to scurry off the bed.
“i.. i know.. but i can’t help it y/n, i want you.. crave you.” his tone softened as he cupped her face.
her eyes were glossy staring into his as he brushed his nose against hers wanting more.
she did it again.
it was her who pushed her lips to his. moving slowly with rhythm. now it was different again. this time they both felt careless. kian was far back in her mind, ignoring any thoughts of him.
matt was in a rush. he moved in front of her making her lay back. it was like her birthday all over again. he hovered over her between her legs, not asking this time and pulling her hoodie over her body.
he pulled back a little shocked as he scanned her figure in just a bra and panties. pupils enlarged with lust as he felt himself stiffen in his sweatpants.
she was flustered feeling so exposed to him. tugging at his clothing now, begging for his exposure so she wasn’t the only one.
he leaned back and undressed fully.
she was going crazy. he looked down her figure to her clothed heat, glancing back at her glistening eyes as he moved down on the bed. he was positioned between her legs, face above her area.
“can i..?” he asked, warm breath against her thighs as he gripped them.
“mhmm” she hummed eagerly.
he buried his head in her legs leaving kisses and bite marks all over. he slid his finger over her panties feeling her folds through the thin material.
he felt his nerves in his stomach, unsure if he really wanted this. he knew he did, but the thought of her ghosting him for kian raced his mind as he sat there hesitantly.
shadows bell snapped him out of his thoughts as he realized where he was. he knew he had to fall through, this was his only chance.
he hooked his fingers onto the waistband of her underwear, sliding it down her legs painfully slow.
placing them next to her, he moved her legs up spreading them wide.
she was sweating from the anticipation when he used two fingers to spread her folds, dragging his tongue from her entrance to her clit.
he sucked on the sensitive spot gaining a moan from the back of her throat.
“shhh, nick and chris are asleep..” he hushed. “you don’t want me to stop, do you?”
her head shook vigorously as she covered her mouth. he dove back in, continuing his previous actions. she whined behind her hand.
he removed a hand from her leg and sucked on his middle and ring finger before sliding them into her hole. he groaned at how tight she felt just on his fingers.
pushing them in, he licked her clit in circles quickly making her arch her back and roll her eyes. helpless to the whimpers that escaped her vocal cords muffled from her hand.
“‘s so good, baby- fuck” he grumbled against her setting her on edge.
her legs trembled and squeezed his head near suffocating him. she grasped the bed sheets tightly and her mouth flew open with no sound coming out.
he shook his head in a fast motion in between her legs helping her ride out her orgasm.
panting and trying to catch her breath when he came back up to hover over her body and kissed her with her own juices all over his face.
she pushed him away, forcing him to lay on his back and climbing over to straddle him. taking hold of his dick and aligning it with her entrance as he watched with his bottom lip between his teeth.
she sunk down with a whine. his eye brows furrowed at the tightness around his member and groaned.
“holy sh-” he could barley get out as she bounced herself on him.
they tried so hard to be quiet during the whole experience but couldn’t help letting out a few moans here and there. the bed was creaking with her movements. he felt his core heat up while his dick started to tingle with sensation as he lifted his hips harder into her.
he knew it wouldn’t be right to cum inside of her when she was with someone. she wasn’t his after all.
but the way he was feeling he couldn’t stop.
he threw his head back on his pillows letting out shaky breaths and grunts as he emptied his load into her feeling her clench around him.
she slowed her movements after realizing what he’d done. finally climbing off of him and laying down next to him.
it felt.. weird.
not awkward, but not wrong either. matt slowly got up from the bed and into the connected bathroom. she watched as the light flicked on and the sink ran.
he came back out with a white rag in his hand, “open,” he demanded getting closer to her legs as she bent her knees to spread them. he cleaned her up as well as himself.
when he went to toss the rag in his sink, he came back out to see her covered in his sheets fast asleep, shadow already curled up by her chest.
he admired how she looked so peaceful even after the unholy events that just took place.
he joined her carefully in bed, exhaustively forcing himself to fall asleep before he regretted what happened.
“yo, matt have you-” the door to matt’s room busted open as the pair in bed jumped out of their sleep snapping to the commotion. sunlight took over as they realized it was the next day. “y/n?”
chris was stood in the door frame. luckily she was fully covered by the blanket for him to see she was only in her under garments and gain suspicion.
“bro- what! what do you need?!” matt’s voice was mixed with annoyance and fear, a little embarrassed that chris came in the room.
“i was looking for my blue hoodie, but what’s up, y/n?” he seemed concerned at the fact she stayed the night, something she would do with nick when she was going through something.
“yea- i, um-”
“it’s behind the door man- her air wasn’t working in her apartment so i brought her over last night without waking you or nick” matt made up a story shooing chris away.
“ohhh- shadow!” he spotted the gray kitten who was now on the floor after hiding when chris scared them.
“dude- go!” matt shouted, still tired in his voice.
chris scoffed leaving the room when he took his hoodie from the rack behind the door, slamming it shut. he was definitely going to nicks room to tell him y/n was there.
the pair looked to eachother. she looked away to find her phone on the nightstand checking to see the time was past noon.
“shit! i have to go..” she almost tripped over her own feet trying to find her clothes not remembering she showed up in just a hoodie.
“wait- let me give you a ride,” matt insisted.
“it’s fine, um.. kians picking me up..” she tried to whisper but it was loud and clear.
matt’s heart sunk. he didn’t know why, he should’ve expected her to go back to him after this but he wanted so badly for her to just forget him and stay.
he didn’t say anything while she gathered shadow and gave matt a quick hug, something she always did before she left their home, and walked out.
it’s been 6 days. no texts. no calls. not even a post on social media.
he hadn’t heard from her at all. he didn’t wanna intrude either. his heart kept telling him to call her, call her and tell her to just love him, not kian.
but he knew better.
or did he? because he found himself driving to her apartment.
the whole ride he wanted to throw up. he was so nervous and didn’t know why. he pulled up to her complex, seeing the parking spaces in front of her building were empty besides her car that he recognized. it was still early afternoon and people were at work. but there was on car. he payed no mind to it, pulling into the spot next to hers.
he sat in the car a few minutes to collect himself.
mentally hyping himself up and making his way to the door, he pressed the buzzer.
nothing.
he tried again, sure he had the right one.
finally hearing the clicks of the lock, the door slowly creaked open revealing her face.
“oh.. what’s wrong?” her voice was a bit hoarse yet filled with confusion.
“i-i missed you..”
she leaned against the wall, her body came into frame enough for him to see she was wrapped in a blanket. clear that nothing was underneath.
“matt, i’m a little busy-“
“who is it, babe?” a voice echoed in her apartment.
matt wanted to break down when he recognized the voice. it made sense now. the other car was kians.
“you should go..” she whispered. he peered over her head seeing shadow stop in his tracks while walking through the living room and stare at him.
matt nodded. he felt crushed and defeated.
maybe he should just let go.
the finale
“hello?” matt answered a facetime call from his brother.
“heyyy, you good?” chris asked.
him and nick went to a party while matt stayed home.
“yeah i’m fine” he had a little attitude in his voice.
he had a rough week. after he left y/ns apartment, he cried in his room. he couldn’t hold it in anymore. he hated how she loved kian and not him. he wished he wasn’t too late. he wished he told her how he felt before she got with him. then fucking her just made him more attached.
“matt?” nick said through the phone, music blared loudly in the background. he snapped out of it.
“what?”
“i asked if you wanted us to bring you fo- oh look who it is!” nick was interrupted, seen hugging someone in frame. a small girl. oh great it was her.
he wanted to just hang up until chris pointed the phone at her. she turned to see matt on the screen.
she almost punched chris in the arm. she felt disgusting. she knew what she did and she knew it was wrong. she couldn’t stand to see him and it wasn’t his fault.
“hi, matt..” she tried to sound as polite at she could but it came out a bit shallow.
all he did was nod his head in return. seeing she went off with nick, he told chris he was going to sleep and to not bother him before hanging up.
“girl- be quiet, i think matt is sleeping,” nick whisper-yelled. matt could hear him from his room. he ignored it knowing he would probably bring a friend home from the party. he went to back to sleep.
he woke up again. this time feeling hungry.
he didn’t bother checking the time, it was still dark out. he made his way down the hall until he bumped into something hard, jumping when he realized it was a person.
“ow- sorry,” he heard a girly voice from the darkness. a sudden light beamed as she turned on her phone flashlight. it was y/n.
he almost gasped in her face. her eyes went wide.
“i’m sorry, i was just going to pee..” she explained. still standing in front of him.
neither of them moved, just staring at eachother.
he couldn’t take it anymore. he grabbed her waist and pressed her against the wall of the hallway, kissing her passionately.
her arms wrapped around his neck.
why did she keep doing this..
matt dragged her by her hips to his room, pushing her to the bed as he shut the door. she tossed her phone somewhere on the bed, he was already in just his underwear from when he went to sleep so he forcefully removed the shirt she had on that belonged to nick.
he was on top of her now, sucking on her neck sure to leave marks. he was fed up with the games she would play.
this time he didn’t care, he was rough and demanding. “turn around, ass up”
she waited as she contemplated her movements. not for long when he raised his voice, “now!”
she jumped, getting into the position where her bare chest was squished into the mattress. she could feel his fingers roam her area until he pushed two digits into her hole making her gasp.
he smacked her ass while he fingered her, the slippery sounds as she clenched around them. he pulled his hand away and used her juices to coat his dick as a lubricant. he pumped a few times grunting at the wet feeling.
she sat in anticipation until feeling his tip finding its way to her entrance, he slowly pushed in once found.
“matt- please!” she moaned into the sheets.
he smirked and slammed fully into her gaining a moan from both their mouths. the feeling of him in her lower abdomen had her nearly screaming, if it wasn’t for nick and chris being home.
the sound of wet skin slapping against eachother filled the room as matt thrusted into her from the back at a fast pace.
suddenly the sounds of a electric tune caused them both to flinch while her phone lit up indicating a call. she wanted to just ignore it. matt leaned over her body to see who it was as his breath hitched in his throat nearly making him choke on his own saliva.
he seen a photo of y/n and kian cuddled up on the screen along with his name flashing with a heart emoji next to it.
“pick it up.” he demanded. was he insane? maybe just a little. feeling euphoric in the moment he didn’t care if kian found out, he kinda wanted him to.
she ignored him and pushed her hips backward trying to get him to continue but he pulled out fully.
she reached for her phone sliding the call button over.
“hello..” she whispered.
kians voice could be heard over the silent room. “hey- you alright? why do you sound like that?”
matt didn’t know if he was pissed or jealous. probably both as he decided to push back into her while she was on the phone.
she held her breath, “i- i’m just tired-“ she let out while matt was pounding into her. she clicked the mute button on the call.
“oh, how was the party? you’re at the triplets house i see” kian noted as he checked her shared location before calling. he just wanted to check on her and make sure everything was good. nothing was wrong about that but what was wrong is she was being unfaithful on the other line. even worse, she enjoyed it.
clicking to unmute, “mm- it was good- it was good i had fun and yea- i’m here,” she drew out trying not to sound too wasted in matt.
she felt her core growing tighter with each blow knowing she was close. she hit mute before his next line.
matt grew impatient, gripping her ass intensely digging his nails in making her whimper, “tell him, y/n”
something about his words made her feral, her eyes rolling back.
“that’s good. i’m glad you have such good friends that’ll take care of you,” kian spoke. oh they took care of her that’s for sure.
“tell him” matt repeated in a more demanding tone, “tell him how good i make you feel”
still thrusting into her, she couldn’t take it much longer feeling the knot about to snap inside of her.
“you there?” kian asked with a yawn.
she unmuted finally, “yes! yes- i’m sorry- i’m so- so tired” stuttering while holding back moans.
“alright i’ll let you go, i love you”
she almost didn’t make her words out in time, “i love you too” hanging up immediately as her orgasm washed over, making her moan loudly and tremble beneath his touch.
he did the same, pulling out right before his load spurted out on her back and ass, dripping down her legs. they both were panting and sweating.
neither of them moved.
“i’m sorry..” her voice cracked with each syllable, “but i can’t..”

Flirt Zone - M.S.
Warnings: masturbation (male), unprotected p in v (always use condoms).
-------------------------------------------------------------
Nick fumbled through his overflowing closet, muttering under his breath. Doja Cat acting as the soundtrack. This first visit to his house, though, took an unexpected turn.
The door swung open, revealing a guy who could've been a model for a cologne ad. Messy, dark hair tumbled across his forehead, partially obscuring the tattoos peeking out from his rolled-up sleeve. A smile played on his lips, showcasing a row of perfectly white teeth. He smelled like heaven. For a moment, you forgot you were looking for Nick. This was Matt, and he was breathtaking.
“Hey, you must be y/n,” he said. “Nick's running a fashion show apparently. Come on in.” He ushered you inside, followed by another guy with similar features, who introduced himself as Chris. The house mirrored Nick's personality – slightly chaotic but undeniably welcoming.
You reached Nick's room, the door swinging shut behind you as Matt and Chris disappeared down the hall. You sank onto the bed, letting out a breathless, “Holy shit.” Your cheeks felt like they were on fire, and you bit your lip hard to try and suppress a goofy grin.
Nick whipped around, a mock look of disgust contorting his features. “Seriously, y/n?” he asked. “Which one stole your heart this time?”
“Matt, definitely,” You confessed, unable to hold back a giggle. “He smells amazing, that smile and those tattoos…” Your voice trailed off as you recalled his image.
Nick snorted. “Great, just what I need, my best friend developing a crush on my brother.”
“Hey, it's not my fault he looks like a rockstar who just stepped out of a cologne commercial!” You defended yourself, playfully nudging him. “Besides, more visits mean more opportunities for me to help you find the perfect outfit, right?”
Nick rolled his eyes dramatically. “Whatever, just don't drool all over my clothes while you're at it, okay?” He said, already rummaging through his t-shirts.
---
Days turned into weeks, weeks turned into months, and Nick's house became a second home. You'd sprawl on the living room floor, controllers clutched in hands, battling it out in the latest game. Sometimes, Matt and Chris would join in, their competitive streaks making things even more intense.
One afternoon, while Matt and you were arguing (playfully, of course) about who deserved the last slice of pizza, Nick blurted out, “Don't worry, y/n won't mind sharing with you, Matt. After all, she practically worships the ground you walk on!”
Your cheeks burned like you'd swallowed a fireball. “Nick!” You sputtered, mortified. But seeing the laughter sparkling in Matt's eyes, you took a deep breath. “Well,” You said, trying to sound casual, “You already know now, there's no point in hiding it.”
From then on, flirting became your game. You'd compliment his taste in music, playfully nudge him during movie nights, or tease him about his messy hair (which, secretly, you found incredibly endearing). Matt would mostly respond with a playful eye roll and a chuckle, but sometimes a blush would creep up his neck, and he'd resort to burying his face in his phone to avoid eye contact.
One afternoon, you brought the guys over to meet your other friends. “These are my two best friends,” you said, gesturing towards Nick and Chris, “Nick and Chris. And this one,” You added, turning to Matt, “is Matt.” You bit your lip, trying to suppress a smile as you met his gaze. “Let's just say I’m… working on something here.”
The statement hung in the air, open to interpretation. My friends exchanged curious glances, while Matt's cheeks flushed a faint pink. He mumbled a greeting, his gaze flickering away from yours.
Every outing became a performance. Introductions were meticulously crafted. Nick and Chris received a casual wave and a quick name toss. But Matt, well, Matt was different. His introduction lingered, a hint of possessiveness lacing the words. It was a message not just for him, but for the girls who inevitably wandered into their orbit. A subtle marking of territory, a playful yet firm declaration: Matt, in your eyes, was something special, someone off-limits, especially to your closest circle. He was, quite simply, too good to share.
---
Today was sleepover night with Nick, a monthly tradition you cherished. You were putting the finishing touches on yourself, a breezy sundress swirling around your legs as you reached for your favourite bottle of Chanel perfume. A soft chime from your phone announced a text – Matt's message confirming they were outside. Grabbing your purse and a backpack overflowing with sleepover essentials, you dashed out the door, a hurried goodbye to your two barking dogs echoing behind you.
The familiar car idled in the driveway. Sliding into the backseat, you offered a bright "Hi!" that was met with a chorus of greetings from the three brothers. Nick, occupying the seat next to you turned with a grin. "Ready to raid the mall? We need to stock up on serious movie snacks for tonight." You couldn't help but smile back, nodding your head.
The rearview mirror offered a glimpse of Matt as you chatted with Nick. You caught his gaze flickering back in your direction a few times. Feeling a playful nudge of courage, you leaned forward. "Like the view?" you teased, "I know I do."
Your playful jab elicited chuckles from Chris in the front seat, while Nick snorted out a sarcastic, "Gross." But Matt's reaction was different. He rolled his eyes, in annoyance. "Did I ask?" he muttered.
Undeterred, you met his gaze with a smirk. "Damn, someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed today," you countered. "Feeling a bit bratty, are we?" He shot you a mock-irritated look, his jaw clenching slightly. But before he could retort, you leaned in closer.
In a flirty whisper that tickled his ear, you murmured, "I like it." You accentuated the point by biting your lower lip. A blush crept up Matt's neck, his cheeks turning a faint pink. His gaze darted away momentarily, flustered by your bold move.
The mall bustled with activity as you navigated the aisles, gathering movie snacks and groceries for the triplets' house. You kept up a steady stream of chatter with Nick and Chris. However, you couldn't shake the feeling of Matt's gaze burning into you. Every now and then, you'd steal a glance in his direction, only to find him staring intently.
Finally, bags overflowing, you piled back into the car. Matt, focused on the road as he navigated the traffic.
Reaching the triplets' house, you helped Nick unload the snacks. As the boys ordered takeout for the evening, you retreated to a bathroom, taking a moment to prepare for a night of movies. Slipping into a comfy nightgown, you brushed your hair and applied a touch of lip gloss, a subconscious effort to feel put-together even for just a sleepover.
Nick soon appeared at the doorway, a mischievous glint in his eyes. "Ready for some movies?" he announced, gesturing for you to follow him. Settling onto Nick's bed, you grabbed a handful of popcorn as the movie started.
The movie was nearing its climax, you were thoroughly engrossed, practically glued to the screen alongside Nick. Then, that familiar pressure built in your bladder. Stifling a groan, you glanced around the room. Nick's bathroom door was ajar. Apparently, a recent "science experiment" for a video involving a rogue Mentos geyser had rendered it temporarily out of commission.
With a resigned sigh, you stood up, the sudden movement momentarily pulling Nick's attention away from the movie. "Bathroom break," you said apologetically, already heading for the hallway. There was a single bathroom close to Nick's bedroom. Reaching for the knob, going in to use the toilet. As you got out, passing outside Matt’s door, you heard a low, guttural groan sent a jolt through you. Concern washed over you, was Matt alright? Had he tripped and hurt himself? Before you could second-guess yourself, you threw open the door.
Your worried frown melted into stunned silence as your gaze fell upon Matt. He was sat with his back to you, his torso was bare. A gasp caught in your throat.
But it wasn't the sight of his bare chest that left you frozen. It was the expression on his face, a look of pure, transcendent pleasure etched across his features; his pants and boxers were down to his ankles as he ran his hand through his big dick. His eyes were squeezed shut, his brow furrowed in concentration, and the low, guttural groans you'd heard earlier escaped his lips involuntarily with each rhythmic movement. He was completely lost in the moment, oblivious to the world around him – oblivious to you standing there, speechless and wide-eyed in the doorway. You bit your lower lip hard, feeling yourself getting soaked at the view of Matt jerking off.
A low involuntary moan escaped your lips before you could even register it. The unexpected sight sent a jolt of arousal through you. Matt's eyes snapped open at the sound, his face contorting in surprise. The rhythmic movement he'd been engaged in ceased abruptly, replaced by a frantic scramble to cover himself with the nearby towel.
"Oh my god, I am so sorry!" you stammered, cheeks burning with a mixture of embarrassment and lingering heat. "I thought… I heard a noise and thought you were hurt."
"Don't you knock?" he finally managed.
Guilt gnawed at you. You hadn't meant to intrude on such a private moment. Yet, even as you mumbled another apology, your gaze couldn't help but linger on the outline of his hard cock beneath the towel, and the glimpse of toned abs and strong arms fuelled the fire simmering in your core.
"Do you need help?" you blurted out. Matt's jaw clenched, his eyes widening in further surprise. You took a step forward, only to realize he was frozen in place, speechless under the weight of your unexpected advances.
As you closed the distance, reaching out, you tentatively brushed a hand against the rough fabric of the towel taking it off him, sending a tremor through Matt's body as you began massaging his length.
Lifting yourself onto his lap, you straddled him. Hesitantly, his hands reached out, hovering at your waist before finding purchase on the soft skin of your ass.
A wave of heat flooded your senses. Leaning in, you trailed a line of kisses down his neck. He responded with a muffled groan, a low sound that vibrated against your lips. Emboldened, you captured his mouth in a hungry kiss, starting to make out with him as you grinded against him.
Pulling away, breathless, you nipped at his lower lip. With a boldness you never knew you possessed, you reached for your panties, putting them to the side. Maintaining eye contact, your hand grabbed his dick, pumping it a few times before placing it on your entrance and slowly lowering yourself to him, making both of you gasp. He was larger and thicker than you anticipated, a realization that momentarily stole your breath.
He cupped your waist, his fingers digging in as he began to make you move your hips. You followed his lead, moving in a slow way, adjusting little by little to his size. A moan escaped your lips as his tip brushed your g-spot deliciously, making you start to move faster, bouncing on his dick, as he responded with a deep grunt and breathless moans “That’s good, keep doing that” he ordered.
He began thrusting up, his hips meeting yours with a satisfying force that sent shivers down your spine. "So damn tight," he growled in your ear. You responded by digging your nails into his back, leaving a red trail on his bare skin. The sharp sensation seemed to ignite him further, and he abruptly shifted positions, taking control.
He was on top now, he moved impossibly fast and deep into you. The room filled with the sound of skin meeting skin. You cried out with a mixture of pleasure and surprise, the intensity pushing you closer to the edge.
"Quiet, baby," he rasped. "The others will hear." Shame washed over you momentarily, replaced by a desperate need to silence the sounds escaping your lips.
"S-sorry, Ma-tt," you stammered, your breath hitching in your throat. He responded with a brief, urgent kiss.
You felt yourself teetering on the precipice, a knot of anticipation tightening in your stomach. The sounds you made grew louder, involuntary expressions of the pleasure coursing through you. He noticed with a teasing smirk playing on his lips.
"Your legs are shaking like crazy," he murmured in your ear. A desperate plea formed on your lips.
"Matt, I… I can't… please," you stammered with a mixture of need and vulnerability in your voice. He understood. A low growl escaped his throat, "Come on then, cum for me" he rasped. And then, in a glorious rush, it happened. The tension shattered, replaced by a wave of pure pleasure that washed over you both as you came all over his dick and you felt him paint your insides with his cum at the same time. You clung to each other, breaths mingling in the aftermath, hearts pounding in a shared rhythm.
He leaned in, peppering your cheeks and neck with soft, lingering kisses. You couldn't help but giggle, and Matt chuckled too. He leaned back, meeting your gaze once more. This time, the kiss he offered was different. It was slow and deliberate.
The afterglow was sweet, but reality beckoned. Nick must be wondering where you'd disappeared to. With a sigh, Matt reluctantly untangled himself from you. He offered a hand to help you sit up. He watched as you reached for your scattered panties.
Before you could leave, he surprised you by grabbing your waist and pulling you into a quick kiss. Finally, with a lingering look that spoke a thousand unspoken words, he released you. Stepping aside, he gestured towards the door. "Go," he said smiling at you.
A nervous giggle escaped your lips as you tried to tame your hair. Reaching for the doorknob, you braced yourself for the trek back to Nick's room. What on earth would you say? How long had it been? Opening the door a little bit, you peeked inside, expecting to find Nick glued to the movie, completely oblivious.
Instead, the sight that greeted you was far worse. Nick was sprawled across his bed, a mischievous grin plastered on his face. The movie had been paused. Before you could stammer out an apology, he spoke.
"Don't even try to make up an excuse for taking so long," Nick cut in. “Let's just say the walls in this house aren't exactly soundproof." He punctuated his statement with a theatrical gag.
Heat flooded your cheeks. "You heard everything?" you mumbled. Nick burst out laughing, "Oh, come on y/n, it sounded like a jungle safari!" he teased making you blush profusely.

just wanted to say that Uncle story you made was really good... Any chance for a part 2?
Hey everyone. I wanted to thank you all for your kind words concerning my Uncle John. After I shared what had happened to him and how I got into TF reporting, I got a lot of supportive messages (along with the regular ones that seem to think this is some sort of… kink blog? What even is that?). Because of how kind you’ve been, I thought I should update you on how everything is going. I’m sorry to say there isn’t much to update you on though. I have a good idea as to who transformed my uncle, which I’ll probably expand upon in another post (I keep saying that, I know, but I will), but what I don’t know is where he is. I haven’t got a clue where he is at the moment, but luckily I’m not the only one searching for him.
The Douchebag Revolution has been keeping an eye out for him for one. Since I help them out sometimes they’ve been helping me. They can be surprisingly nice at times, and they’re pretty sympathetic to people who have been transformed against their will, since they all were at some point. They also seem to have somehow gotten the idea that Uncle John was straight before he got transformed, but since that seems to motivate them more I haven’t corrected them.
I have members of other groups I’ve mentioned helping me too. I won’t name names, since they could get fired (or transformed), but I do have some connections at EB Jewelry, despite the company's anti-journalist policy. They’re the reason I was actually able to get some information on the company in the first place, and they’ve been using some of their connections within the company to help look for my Uncle. They haven’t found much yet, though it's because of them I can safely say that EB Jewelry isn’t involved in what happened.
Then of course there are the other TF Reporters who help, a few personal friends of my Uncle, and… Nick. My Uncles literally devilish friend, Nick. Honestly, he’s been looking harder than anyone, and I think I know why. I’ve always referred to Nick as my Uncle’s devil friend, and that's how he introduced himself to me, but… from what I’ve noticed, they were actually closer than that. It was the little things that gave it away. The look in Nick's eyes when he talks about my uncle, both fond and painful, the way he seems more desperate to find him than I do, how protective he’s been of me since my Uncle disappeared. I think he and my Uncle John were seriously involved, for quite a long time.
It’s kind of weird to realize your Uncle is, or at least was, in a long term relationship with a devil, but no matter the reason, I’m glad he's here. I don’t know If I could do all this without Nick's help. He’s half the reason I haven't been turned into a dumb hunk myself. I do worry sometimes that this is starting to get to him. Whoever transformed Uncle John has been sending… pictures, recently. He’s always transformed in a different way and with a different look, but I can just tell it’s him. They’re showing him off like some sort of trophy, using him to mock us. Nick never says anything but it’s killing him seeing my Uncle that way, I can tell.
Tumblr media
This whole thing is my fault. I was the reason my Uncle got changed. I have to get him back. I know whoever took him is reading this post. I know you’re powerful, powerful enough that time travel, demons and capitalist don’t want to fight you. But I’m not afraid of you. I know who you are, and I’m giving you a fair warning: I’m coming for you, and I’m getting him back. No matter what.
**I’ve been meaning to do a sequel to the ‘My Uncle’ story for a while. I love big lore stories. I need to introduce the big bad soon, but there so much other stuff to write too so it might still be a bit. Hope you love this story and hope you guys can wait!**

Alright, no more Pine. How about some Nick?
It's not better.
A Deal with the Devil
Fandom: The 355 Pairing: Nick Fowler x Reader (curvy) Words: 1126 Warning: None (except Nick Fowler himself) A/N: I am blaming @darkficsyouneveraskedfor once again for this.
You should not even be here in the first place. You know you should not. But you had no other choice. When the chief of the FBI told you to go and meet one of the executives of the CIA, you could not refuse. Even if you knew there was a good chance he was doing this on purpose. He needed to show you he still was in control somehow, which was why he used your boss to make you do what he wanted.
Thus, you agreed to meet at his luxurious apartment even though you would have preferred some public place and you agreed to go alone since your boss had stated it was a personal matter. Another sign Nick knew how to pull some strings so that the FBI would do whatever he asked with no further questions. Another thing that made your skin crawl.
He opened the door as soon as you rang the bell and leaned casually against it. His outfit matched his attitude. He had traded his usual suit against a pair of jeans and a blue sweater matching his soulful blue eyes. He knew what he was doing.
“Just on time, as usual.” He looked you up and down with lazy smile on his face, admiring the way your knee-length skirt was hugging your curves. You almost regretted putting on your work attire and walked by him to come into the room.
“Let’s get this over with.”
“Please, come in.” He followed after you. “After all, you know the place.”
“Nick” ‘You sighed. “I am not here to talk about things from the past. What…”
“Please take a seat.” He pointed to the table in his dining room where piles of money where waiting.
You sat down hesitantly and crossed your legs, watching the banknotes with a frown. “That for me?”
“Yeah.” He took a seat on the opposite chair, gauging your reaction.
You had none. There was no reason why he would give you that money. That is, unless the FBI wanted to send you on a special mission for the CIA with him.
“Well…not really.” He smiled. “It’s for your sister. After all, she needs to pay all those medical bills for your niece.”
There it was. “How on Earth have you heard about this?” You asked in a whisper.
“Not thanks to you, that’s for sure.” He smirked. “You were always so secretive with me, I had to dig up some information.”
A chill ran down your spine. How long had he been doing this? How long did he dig up? And whatever for? To mock you?
“So, what?” You snapped. “Now, you are just throwing your money at me to show you have it and I don’t. Does a child being sick amuse you?”
You stood up abruptly from your seat, ready to leave.
“Not at all, sweetheart. You misunderstood me. Sit down.” Every trace of smile had disappeared from his face. You sat down immediately, recognizing the Nick you had flew from. The one who could be so cold and threatening if you did not give him what he wanted. It had always amazed you what effect his tone could have on people until it was directed to you. Amazement then turned into fear.
“The money is for you, sweetheart.” His smile was back. “That is…if you do something for me in return.”
Of course. Nothing was free with Nick Fowler.
“What do you want?” You asked in a tight voice.
He leaned closer. “You.”
“Nick….” You whispered. “We tried, you know it’s not working.”
“Hear me out.” He cleared his throat. “All I am asking for is one night. There is a charity event that I need to attend. I am sure you will be interested. It’s for kids with a heart condition. I assumed you would love to be my date. Afterwards, we would go back to my place and…have fun.”
He leaned back against his chair and winked at you.
“What if I refuse?”
“Then, you say no.” He shrugged his shoulders. He was acting nonchalant but he was certain you would say yes. You knew it. Once again, you had no other choice but to accept his offer.
“So, let me get this straight”. You tilted your head on the side. “You offer to pay for my niece’s medical bills and all I have to do is whoring myself out to you”.
You were amazed by your confident tone because you could feel yourself trembling on the inside. You would not show him your fear, though. It would give him more control than he already had.
“I wouldn’t say that.”
“Really? What would you call it, then?”
“Just…a deal. You get what you want and I get what I want.” He smirked at you.
“I won’t have to pay anything back? At all?” You were quite skeptical about this. He always had something up his sleeve and it was better to be prepared.
“Nothing at all. You give me this one night and we are even.”
You felt your heart hammering in your chest and you bet he could hear it. He had always liked throwing the element of surprise. The man liked to play with his prey. But you would not be that gullible.
“I want it all written in a contract, then.”
That made him raise his eyebrows. “A contract?”
“Yes.”
He chuckled. “Fine, if that’s what you want. But you won’t get the money before we both sign on it.”
“Fine by me.” You shrugged your shoulders and stood up, ready to leave again. This time, he stood up with you and walked you to the entrance door.
He put his hand on the handle then seemed to hesitate and turned to you. “Nothing to seal the deal before leaving?”
He was mocking you again, always trying to make you uneasy and get the upper hand.
“After it’s signed.” You replied shortly. “And I will read between the lines.”
He snorted. “Read between the lines? Who do you think I am, sweetheart? The Devil?”
“You said it. Not me.”
He chuckled but opened the door and let you pass. You felt him brush your lower back and turned around, meeting his fiery gaze. It would be so easy to get lost in those eyes and let yourself succumb to your deepest desires, no matter what the consequences were.
But you had your family to think about first. You abruptly stepped away from him, which seemed to amuse him even more.
You sighed and finally made it outside. When you heard the door close, you sneaked a glance toward it to make sure he was behind it and almost ran to your car. Yes, it felt like you were making a deal with the Devil himself.

The Quarry and queer-baiting
It's a pretty known issue within The Quarry fanbase that this game basically set us up with two gay couples for them to just... not happen. In fact, it's almost as if the game rubs it in the players' faces that they don't, won't, and can't happen, besides the first half of the game setting them up rather clearly. It feels like the writers completely abandoned the idea halfway through, or for some reason just wanted to draw players in with the concept of queer relationships/characters just to rip it away in the end.
Disclaimer: This topic has been in my rough drafts for like, nearly two years at this point. I updated and added some stuff, but forgive me if I missed any crucial details.
So in the beginning, a lot of people wind up shipping both Ryan x Dylan (Rylan) and Emma x Abigail (Blygbank). Let's start with Blygbank since it's the shorter of the two.
So we do establish that Emma had a boyfriend, but the keyword is "had." To be fair, Jacob and Kaitlyn talk about it for the entire first section and that's the whole reason this game even happens, since Jacob wants another shot with Emma. So this straight couple is obviously very prominent. But, throughout the entire game, from multiple characters (Emma herself, Kaitlyn, Dylan, Ryan), it's repeatedly stated that Emma wants to move on from Jacob. Then we're introduced to Abigail, who's first scene is of her drawing a sketch of Emma. It's established that Emma and Abi are good friends. Maybe Emma and Abi will start a relationship? But, then we're introduced to Abi's crush on Nick. So I guess that idea just got blown out of the water...
To be fair, Emma's lack of interest in Jacob and Abi sketching Emma all happens very quickly within the first chapter. Perhaps it's the players' fault for jumping to that conclusion so quickly... but still.
What's more disappointing is that Abi and Nick are basically useless after chapter 6. There is actually yet another opportunity to develop some Blygbank relationship, but once again, it goes nowhere. Nick is bit and infected and starts acting absolutely horrible toward Abi, which very noticeably turns Abi off from him. Then Nick disappears for the rest of the game. But given Abi survives, she'll have another opportunity to have some alone time with Emma. Yet nothing of actual importance is discussed here. Not Emma kissing Nick. Not how Nick treated Abi. Not where Abi and Emma's relationship stands. Not where Emma and Jacob's relationship stands. We do get a moment where Emma reveals some of her true colors and she says that she needs Abi and she's been great to her, but once again, this goes nowhere. I guess we could see this as romantic, but Abi kind of seems just tired of and annoyed with Emma at this point and doesn't comment much about any of it. Basically there's just no conclusion. We have literally no idea where their relationship stands, romantically or otherwise. It's a huge missed opportunity.
While you can't get both of these scenes in the same playthrough, they do also push the Blygbank agenda. If you can get the "Nobody's Fool" route where Emma and Jacob reunite and Jacob tells her the truth, Emma will be completely and entirely done with Jacob. No more joking, no more mixed signals, she's just done. Which is kind of where the entire game was leading to from the beginning anyway, but this route gives it to us loud and clear. This accompanied with Abi and Nick going south again leaves us with a Blygbank option, but obviously, we get none of it. I know there's not much time left in the game by the time any of these scenes happen; maybe this is something else that could've been developed if we got any post-credits scenes, police interviews, I don't know. Again, maybe I'm reaching way too far with this one, but I think there's pretty good reason to ship Blygbank and assume maybe that's the direction they planned on going in. But I digress...
Onto part two, we have Rylan. And... Ryka? I have no idea what the ship name for Ryan x Kaitlyn is and I don't know if shippers for this couple even exist, so I'll just call them Ryka. And they're not a queer couple, but it's necessary to talk about the two at the same time.
I'll be honest, during my first several playthoughs/watchthroughs of The Quarry, I had no idea Kaitlyn was interested in Ryan. They do not do a good job of establishing that at all, and you can very easily miss every single opportunity for it to be brought up until chapter freaking nine. So honestly, Kaitlyn is pretty much a non-factor here. Dylan's crush on Ryan is very vocal and obvious, and the two are paired up very often throughout the game. Even if Kaitlyn's crush on Ryan was more well-known, Dylan is still the more obvious one between the two because, again, Dylan and Ryan are always paired up together.
Ryan is rather... uninterested in everything and everyone. But between everyone, he seems closest to Dylan. Of course, this can depend on how you play as both characters. You can make them argue A LOT, and Ryan won't always say the "I'm a bit closer to Dylan, I guess" line, but regardless, there's some scenes with them being close that will always happen. The most prominent scene between them is when they're walking to the radio hut and Dylan actually opens up to Ryan about who he is and what he likes to do. Ryan will have unwavering, non-negotiable interest in Dylan as a person here. Sure, they CAN kiss at the firepit, but Ryan can also choose to kiss Kaitlyn. They can joke around about the Bizarre Yet Bonafide podcast name, or they can't. They can agree over the gun, or they can argue instead. Ryan can cheer Dylan on or rush him. They can grab the phones and go or Dylan can annoy Ryan so much, he'll yell at him. Point being, there's a lot of options you can take with their relationship. You can make them close or you can make them bicker. Regardless, Dylan will remain interested. And regardless, they will have this intimate moment together on the way to the radio hut. Point being again, it's veryyyy obvious this a queer relationship in the making. Justice Smith is even a queer actor, and Miles Robbins is a very vocal supporter of the LGBTQ+ community.
Then Laura comes and fucks the whole thing up. And I love Laura, mind you, but for some reason the writers decided to take this whole ship and spin it on its head when Laura arrives.
Before we get into the Laura segment, let me point a few more things out. I personally thought that Ryan was maybe oblivious to Dylan and Kaitlyn's feelings, didn't really know which one he liked more, or most prominently, maybe he was asexual. When Emma tells him to kiss either Dylan or Kaitlyn, he asks if he can kiss both. I thought that was kind of an odd thing to say unless he either liked both or just didn't care. Also, he can ask Laura, "You're doing all of this for a boy?" He really seems like he doesn't understand this kind of love or investment in another person romantically. Upon discovering that line, I pretty much accepted Ryan as asexual.
But then he's not asexual. And he's not oblivious to Dylan and Kaitlyn's feelings. And he's not interested in either of them. According to Justice Smith himself, when Laura asks Ryan who he likes more and he answers with "Maybe neither," it means that Ryan has a crush on Laura. And I truly don't get this, for several reasons. For starters, yes, Laura is doing all of this for a boy--her boyfriend, Max. She literally has a boyfriend already. And Ryan already had a thing going with Dylan. So why, seven whole chapters through this entire game, giving us LauraMax and Rylan, do they suddenly pair together Lyan? It's just a creative decision I will never understand. Maybe if Laura and Max had broken up, but still. She's not reintroduced until chapter 7 so we've already had six chapters of Rylan still. Maybe they could have made it more obvious from the beginning that Ryan wasn't interested in Dylan or Kaitlyn, but they just didn't do that. They particularly paired Ryan and Dylan up all the time and made them close. So, I call queer-baiting.
Of course, Lyan never goes anywhere. The only ending you can get that involves any kind of romance is actually Laura and Max reuniting. Laura and Ryan's romance happens in basically two seconds and there's barely any romance to even speak of. Laura does flirt with him a lot, but I believe that's due to the werewolf curse, as she stops that kind of behavior after her curse is lifted. They do seem to be close friends by then, she just doesn't flirt anymore or make weird comments. And really neither does Ryan. Sure, you don't always get the "maybe neither" line and you can choose less flirty options sometimes, but then they have a whole ass The Lovers card. So it's extremely obvious what the developers were going for. I just don't understand why suddenly go for this couple eight chapters through after already establishing a gay couple with Ryan himself and Dylan.
The only other thing we get on this matter is Dylan and Kaitlyn discussing Ryan's relationship with Laura on their way to the scrapyard. The most positive outcome for Rylan here is when Dylan says he and Ryan got close and Kaitlyn tells him "There's always next year." So it does give a bit of hope to this ship, leaving it open-ended despite the sudden occurrence of Lyan. Of course, you might not always get these lines, and Dylan and Kaitlyn can both agree "screw Ryan" and move on. So... I don't fucking know. It's like they purposefully set players up to support this clearly laid out queer ship of Rylan to then make it all insanely confusing and open-ended and piss people off. I think they really fumbled the bag with this one, and it's why I have a hard time shipping Ryan with literally anyone. It's all just a confusing mess.
I'd definitely say that the whole Supermassive Games chain of video games definitely got less queer-baity and more queer accepting over time. Just a few months later, The Devil in Me is released and they give us a Lesbian ship with Jamie and Erin. Also, with the Until Dawn remake, they cranked up the Jemily and Climbing Class. Not by much, mind you, but regardless, they acknowledged the popularity of these queer couples in the fanbase and added some crumbs for the players. It makes me wonder if they'll ever delve on Blygbank or Rylan in the future. I'm doubting The Quarry will ever get a remaster/remake with added content like Until Dawn, but who knows, I guess. As I said, both ships are pretty much left open-ended. But for now, I think The Quarry has a serious problem with queer-baiting, or maybe they just had no idea how to handle writing queer characters. I really don't know.
Lastly, none of this was supposed to be negative or attacking any single one of the ships mentioned in this post. I don't know how anything I said could be interpreted that way, but you never know. This post was just supposed to be informative. I hear a lot of people criticizing the queer-baiting within this game, as they should, and I decided to make an informative post covering all of the points and how I believe they screwed up the opportunities to put in these queer couples and somewhat alienate their queer audience.

Agatha All Along 1x05
Ok let's talk about episode 5 of Agatha All Along first thing, WHY ARE THE EPISODES SO FUCKING SHORT??? I physically need at least an hour long episodes.
I was surprised that Agatha's trial has already happened, I almost assumed it would be the last one but it actually feels more realistic this way and it has created a rift in the coven. I'm not really clear on what the purpose of the trial is though. I mean the other two involved the whole coven who would have been saved by collaborating, while this one seems to only serve to abandon Agatha as her mother wants. Was it perhaps a trial to show that the coven needs to learn to trust and not abandon Agatha? It seems a bit strange to me. If they had actually left her would they have failed the trial? Was that the point?
The fact that Rio defends her from her mother after she suggests slitting Agatha's throat is fantastic. In addition to perfectly representing the trope: "No one can hurt you but me" has a deeper implication. By now it is almost confirmed who Rio really is, the fact that she wants to kill Agatha with that peace of mind has no evil in itself, she wants to "collect" her, if you know what I mean. Leaving her to her mother instead would mean condemning her, which Rio does not want to do.
Alice, my little angel, we will miss you. She was the only one who actively tried to save Agatha, even if to be fair even Teen was opposed to abandoning her. Here Agatha was really out of control, she did NOT hurt Alice on purpose but everyone, given her reputation, believes she is guilty. Nothing that really surprises me, but what hurt me was seeing Teen who turned against her so quickly. Sure it is credible, he was becoming fond of Alice who defended him and helped him, but damn after the connection he made with Agatha in the last episode this really hurt. Great point also showing how she has distanced herself a bit from Teen emotionally, it's small details, but it's perfectly in her way of protecting herself emotionally.
When Teen then mentioned Nicholas' name I literally screamed, not to mention the voice of the child begging the mother to stop. Agatha's reaction was incredible, she stopped instantly and turned around as if she expected to see her child. When she realized what she had done she made a move to approach Alice and here I'm sure she wanted to check if she could help her, but Teen pushed her away angrily and this shook her (and I was about to cry)
Rio in the last part seems to have disappeared, I think she was taking care of Alice's body.
And BOOOM the bomb was dropped with "you look like your mother" We all knew who Teen really was, yes I hoped until the very end that it was Nicholas.
But to be honest I rewatched the previous episodes pretending not to know the comics and theories/spoilers and I have to say that I'm pretty sure that the writers structured the series with the intent of making viewers believe that Teen was Nick and in their mind this was supposed to be the Plot Twist. It all makes sense, it's us fans who "ruined" the surprise.
So yes Teen is Billy, now we just have to figure out how, will they keep the story from the comics or change it? But above all HOW DID AGATHA UNDERSTAND THIS?? In the previous episode she said "you don't need to know a person's name to know who he is" I thought it was a way to reassure Teen and maybe unconsciously to show the hope that he was her son but now I doubt this. Did she guess it was Billy? How? And how can I wait another week? I repeat these episodes are too short.

*steeples fingers and stares at my tablet with gimlet eyes*
so. Road to NML. You mean to tell me that the reason the rest of the country, Congress, and the President himself decided to write Gotham off, blow the bridges, and isolate everyone left - all criminals and asylum lunatics and 'undesirables', of course - was in large part due to *checks notes* a satanic rock star's unnatural, irresistible charisma and cult-like media manipulations aimed at dooming the city for his own benefit?
and that in order to find out what actually happens to this villain, who disappears from the Batman and 'Tec storylines...I'd have to *checks notes* read Azrael's event issues?
....yeah, PASS. I only included JPV's book on my reading list when I absolutely had to (*cough* whenever Cass pops up *cough*), so it's off to the wiki summaries for me!
...but okay, on the one hand I find it very funny how thoroughly fandom has excised this demonic media influencer aspect from the collective consciousness of NML - or at least it had never made its way to me via either fic or fandom posts. I know how few people read comics in general in this fandom, and even for those who do, NML is a Beast that only a percentage have tackled (see: me just starting to pick away at it!), so honestly it's not that surprising.
and like it can easily be left out of the story and still leave it coherent lmao!! One can certainly argue things are in fact neater that way; certainly it's not something that would ever be kept (or at least not in the same form) if NML were adapted to another medium, except as perhaps a normal media demagogue (or a montage of them).
but on the other hand...hmm. Thinking about Hurricane Katrina hitting all of six years after the NML storyline played out. And the debate over whether funds should be used for reconstructing New Orleans and other massively damaged areas. And people around the country wondering if New Orleans would or should be rebuilt at all. Or if a vibrant, historic city would just be basically wiped off the map.
I know this is a conversation that happens everywhere and every time a major disaster wrecks a city. There are always huge fights over disaster aid and funding allocations of any kind.
but man. It's something to see this fictionalized depiction in such close proximity to a real life disaster that paralleled it so strongly, and to know that - yes, there are always people who Do Not Abandon Their Homes and work to reclaim them. Yes, massive amounts of aid (federal and otherwise) and federal reconstruction funding did get dispensed. Yes, people cared, and yes, we rebuilt.
so...maybe we do actually need the demonic social media influencer's evil powers in order to comic book logic explain how everyone in the country turned their backs on Gotham and created No Man's Land.
like - no, it's not necessary. the narrative would work without it. and yet...
the premise imagines - requires? - a significantly more callous, selfish populace. Still plausible and compelling! Possibly even stronger as a story since the turnaround for No Man's Land still hinges on winning the country over to open Gotham back up, let aid in, and rebuild. But. You do have to start from - kind of a bleaker take on humanity?
it also kind of reminds me of what scintillyyy pointed out a few weeks ago about Dick killing the Joker, and how actually there's an important comic book superpower interaction going on there, too, with Rancor present massively amplifying Dick's hate and anger to push him over the edge.
but so few people ever notice or remember that and it certainly isn't one of those things that gets transmitted via fandom osmosis. (It was news to me!!) People focus on Dick breaking down and letting loose solely due to being pushed too far.
and that's extremely compelling on its own! It is! Just like the no-satanic-Nick-Scratch NML.
just thinking about fandom's tendency to ellide the supernatural or powered influences that are canonically affecting a situation, in order to explore/focus on more purely humanistic explanations or motivations...that actually end up being darker than what we might reasonably expect from real life, or from a character's typical values.
like it's part wanting to brush off comic book nonsense, part wanting to dive into gritty realism (that's not always realistic), part not having all the information because of learning things secondhand so you construct the most reasonable explanation...idk it's just interesting.
anyway.
more importantly: Dick and Tim are adorable in 'Tec 727-729!! Especially love them trading off yelling each other's names in fear/alarm, and also trading off protecting each other - Dick's "You hurt that kid and you're gonna be eating through a tube!" and Tim's clever solo rescue of a thoroughly captive Dick via clever use of a voice modulator and a two-way radio. The Boys 😊

Runaway Royalty 6
Part 5
Jeff leaned against a tree and crossed his arms where Eddie was whittling something by a tree. He was squatting and hunched over and completely immersed in his work but there was a nervous energy to it.
“So, I heard Rick tried to set you up with our new guy. Tried being the point he really wanted to get across.”
“I appreciate the guy’s…helpfulness. But I don’t want to give Steve the wrong idea”, Eddie said.
“That means you’re not interested in him at all?”
“I’m not not interested. It’s just-I can’t-I can’t afford to be distracted. And Steve would be”, Eddie paused to watch the omega from afar, all he was doing was walking and yet Eddie was entranced.
“Incredibly distracting, noted”, Jeff said. “But, I feel as though you are making excuses.”
“Excuses for what? Not courting some random omega that I just met?”, Eddie hissed when his knife slipped and he nicked himself. “You’re making this a bigger to do than it is.”
“If you are sure”, Jeff said, ready to leave well enough alone.
“We’ve got more important things to discuss.” Eddie pocketed the knife and stood up, leaning in close to Jeff. His voice turned to a whisper. “Rick’s informant knew that I left months ago. And that you’re with me.”
Jeff’s expression turned worrisome. “How could he know all that?”
“He’s a fucking magician, I don’t know!”, Eddie spit out before whipping his head around. “But we’ve gotta be careful now. Keep a low profile.”
“You’re telling me that?”
“I know, you’ve got such a difficult time containing yourself, but try your best.”
Rick told the camp at large the intel he’d received and it was decided their best course of action was to go to the valet’s home and see if he knew anything about the prince’s disappearance.
“So Prince Edwin has been gone for months?”, Robin asked. “Why is his kingdom just now putting out a search?”
“They were probably searching for all those months”, Gareth said.
Steve’s brow furrowed. “But why go public with it now?”
“Perhaps it was the recent disappearance of Princess Robin and Prince Stephen”, Greenley surmised. “Rick’s guy didn’t have much to say on them, so I think it’s safe to say they haven’t been missing for months.
When the next day came, the camp packed up. Steve and Robin were given tasks to help out around. Eddie was tending to the horses and Steve watched from where he was, packing supplies into a bag. There was an odd calm in the air.
And then arrows whistled through that air.
“Raid!”, one voice shouted.
“Scatter!”, another yelled.
“Robin!”, Steve called out, searching her out.
He heard her call out his name and saw that she was already on a wagon, speeding away. Someone was holding her by the waist to keep her from jumping out. Where were they going? Was there some kind of rendezvous point? How long until he saw her agai-
“Get down!”, someone shouted as they tackled Steve over.
He wrestled until he realized it was Eddie. Eddie who smelled like campfire smoke and something earthy. When they got to their feet, Steve grabbed his wrist and they ran like hell from whoever was shooting at them and attacking the camp. Steve didn’t even know where they were going, just away from here.
He couldn’t let himself think about how Robin was going in the opposite direction. She could take care of herself. Suddenly Eddie jerked back, pulling his hand away from Steve.
“What is it? Why have you stopped?”
“I can’t run anymore, something feels weird. I think I’ve got a butt cramp”, Eddie said, hands going to his lower back.
“Are you serious? We’re being chas-there’s an arrow in your ass!”, Steve pointed, hand coming to his mouth.
“Oh…yeah…that’ll do it”, Eddie glanced and then quickly tore his gaze away, unable to look at it.
“Well take it out, you’ve gotta take it out!”, Steve started to panic.
Eddie put a hand against a tree and hunched over. “Would if I could. But it’s a little…beyond my reach.”
“Well what are we supposed to do?!”, Steve nearly shrieked, turning away when he couldn’t bare to look at it any longer.
“Someone’s over that way!”, a man’s voice called from a distance.
Eddie cursed and stood upright again. He grabbed Steve and brought him to crouch down behind a boulder, biting back a groan at the movement. Footsteps approached and Eddie looked around them. He grabbed a rock and tossed it in the opposite direction. It went a good few feet, but it only thudded on the ground, not providing enough of a distraction. Steve rolled his eyes and grabbed a smaller rock.
He flung it and with a flick of his wrist, it ricocheted off two trees and made a slicing noise through the grass. The footsteps moved in that direction and they waited with held breaths for it to go silent again. Once they were sure, Eddie let out a sound from deep within his chest and fell over.
“You gotta take it out.”
“Take what out?”
“You know! The-
“Okay, okay! Just!-Don’t move”, Steve ordered. “Don’t move so I can…” His hands hovered over the arrow, lodged squarely in Eddie’s right butt cheek. “I can’t. I can’t do it. Maybe we can figure out a pulley system or something?”
“Just pretend I’m Robin. You’d pull it out without hesitation, right?”
Steve took a breath. “You both are built similar enough.”
“Now just what is that supposed to mEEEEEAN.” Eddie’s pitch went up when he felt something get ripped from him.
It wasn’t hard to pull out, but Steve was panting all the same as he dropped the arrow. “Alright. You need to drop your trousers.”
“I beg your pardon?!”
“Don’t be difficult. I pulled it out. Now let me tend to it.”
Eddie turned onto his side. “With what, may I ask? Leaves and twigs?”
Steve revealed the bag he’d been packing before the raid. He rifled through it. There wasn’t much but it would have to be enough until they either met back up with the others, or found a village.
“I’ll take care of it. But I’m not disrobing you. Take care of that yourself.”
“Yes, because you doing it would make it improper”, Eddie rolled his eyes. But he shimmied out of his pants, just low enough to reveal the top of his cheek.
Steve used a cloth to wash the blood. Luckily it wasn’t gushing out. Was that normal? How did arrow wounds compare to others? There wasn’t any gauze or anything to patch it up with, so Steve simply put another cloth on top, then stared.
“Is it…are you done?”, Eddie tilted his head.
“Hush up, I’m thinking!” Steve put his chin in his hand and then snapped his fingers. “Here”, he looked into the bag and thankfully found a sash. With it, he tied the cloth tightly to Eddie’s behind. It was still much more loose than a bandage would be, but at least he wouldn’t get blood on his clothes.
“Do much nursing at home?”
“Oh shut up”, Steve said, getting to his feet and turning so that Eddie could right his pants. “So, what do we do now? Everyone’s scattered.” Robin…
“They are”, Eddie agreed. “But the Bandit King has a secret hold. So we make our way there, we catch up to the others.”
“And how long will that take us?”, Steve asked.
“That all depends on you, sunshi-”, Eddie cut himself off with a groan as he tried to walk.
“Sounds like it depends on you”, Steve chuckled.
“Alright, flesh wounds still hurt. We might be going at it a little slow.”
Steve looked at their surroundings. Deep forest, no way of telling exactly where they were. And it seemed dangerous to move while Eddie was hurt. His sister was an alpha and she had others with her. Right now her biggest worry was him. And if he returned to her with an injury, she’d never let him live it down. ‘Ever since we stopped sharing a room, it all went downhill for you.’ Said ‘room’ was how she referred to their mother’s womb.
“We’re staying here”, Steve said.
Eddie’s eyes got wide. “Here? Like right here?”
“Whoever those guys were, they’ve moved on by now. And I’m not carrying you when you collapse from that disease that makes alphas think they can carry on while bleeding.”
“Has anyone ever told you that you’re very comfortable giving orders?”
“I’ve been told something to that effect before, yes.”

Jujutsu Kaisen Fanfiction- Chapter 6
Tumblr media
"Today will be a special practice."
You knew you should have been suspicious when he suggested your training be done in the forest.
"Is there a problem?" Gojo questioned.
"Don't act innocent, are you really going to pretend like nothing happened!!"
"Of course not, I was very serious about it."
You growl. You couldn't figure out his angle.
"(Y/N). "
You turn at the voice behind.
"Nanami?"
Why was he here?
"We both decided that in order to see how far you can go, you would need a real challenge. " Gojo explains. Nanami draws his blade.
"Today you'll be going against us both." Your eyes widen.
"W-What!!"
You were confident in your abilities, but Gojo was on another level, and you'd only partially been able to match Nanamis's abilities. How did he expect you to best them both at your current level?
"Don't worry, I'll only be using ten percent of my power, promise." He held up his pinky.
You drew your own blade, eyes marking them both. Nanami was behind.
"It doesn't seem like I have much of a choice." You raise it, and Gojo smirks.
"Let's get started."
They both fired off in your direction, and you jumped above, barely dodging the attack. Nanami was quick, he swung while you were still airborne. Blocking the attack with your blade, you used your arm to defend against Gojo's from above. The result was not very desirable. Your body went pivoting, slamming harshly into the ground. Both males stopped momentarily to gauge your position currently blocked by all the smoke and rubble.
The collision was harsh.
"Ah, maybe that was a little more than ten percent." Gojo chuckled.
Nanami's eyebrow twitched.
Gojo wasn't that great at holding back.
The stream he feels makes him return his focus.
"She's been down there for a while. I can feel her cursed energy, but it's spreading."
Nanami moved his head to the side, the flying blade nicking just a strand of his hair. His eyes marked the blade that was levitating, a steady flow of energy around it.
"How clever, she's managed to implement her cursed energy so it acts by itself." Gojo remarked.
When they were finally able to see the ground, there was nothing but an indent in concrete.
"Watch your back."
Nanami flinched. The kick you deliver he evades. But in the wake of it, you have knocked his blade right out of his hand. It spins in the air, and soon it's engulfed by your energy. Just like the other one.
"Her target was my blade from the beginning."
He massaged his palm, and Gojo laughed.
"Good work, you now have two weapons at your disposal. But what are you going to do.."
He disappeared and you grit your teeth, marking each direction.
"When your enemy doesn't use weapons."
Despite the clear advantage you now had, Gojo's sudden appearance in front of you makes you panic. He grabs a hold of your hand, and you prepare for the worst, but he doesn't do anything. He's just looking at you.
"What's he doing?"
You can't figure it out, nor can you get out of his grip.
"That's enough."
Nanami's stern voice says. He's by your side in a matter of seconds, and you drop both blades, no longer keeping them up with your cursed energy. Gojo releases your hand, and Nanami stands at your side protectively.
"What point were you trying to make?" Nanami sounds angry. Gojo folds his arms.
"I think it's obvious we're both taken with her. Don't you think Nanami."
You really didn't think Gojo would say such a thing.
"So what are you suggesting?"
"Well, since it's clear she'll have a hard time choosing, why not compromise." Gojo suggested.
"Wait a second...WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU GUYS REALLY NEGOTIATING WHO GETS TO HAVE ME!!"
"Then would you prefer just one of us?" Nanami asks.
"A-Are you really going along with this!!!"
Nanami slides his glasses off.
"I can't say that I'm happy, but Gojo is known for acting irrational. He'll pursue you regardless of what I say." You blush.
They must be kidding. This had to be a game. He was messing with the both of you.
"He's just screwing around, do you think he's serious about-"
Your eyes spring open at the pair of lips that land on your own. Nanami looked just as shocked. He swung his fist at the male, and Gojo jumped back.
"My apologies, I guess I got a bit annoyed with all you were saying."
Your eyes shake as you cover your mouth in shock.
"H-He kissed me...."
"None of us are willing to forfeit, so this is the only alternative that we all end up happy. Don't you think so?" Nanami's eyes narrow at the suggestion.
What other choice did he really have?
"Excuse me."
You move to a tree, and they both look confused. When you slam your forehead into the solid surface Gojo and Nanami sweatdrop. You turned back, blood dripping down your face.
"Eh, so I'm not asleep. Eh heh heh heh."
You let out some concerning little giggles.
"I think we broke her." Gojo mutters.
"It's your fault." Nanami points out.

Do you think Katniss and Peeta have biased opinions of each other?
Yes / No? Why?
Could you give example?
How did Peeta's hijacking affect their views of each other?
Disclaimer : these questions are for textual analysis, it’s not meant to incite fandom war.
Thank you :)
@curiousnonny
Hi nonny! This has taken me some time because I wanted to think on this for a bit. Tldr; their opinion of the other hinges a lot on how they think the other views them.
When Katniss thinks that she was just a random Seam kid Peeta helped once, she can't help but feel he's too good, too pure for Panem. When Peeta only knows Katniss from afar thinking she doesn't pay attention to him, she has an "effect" on people she doesn't herself perceive. When Katniss thinks Peeta views her as his competition, she believes him duplicitous and suspicious. And so it shifts based on whether they believe the other is actually in love with them, or if they're distant, or if they're friends.
The hijacking is definitely really tragic and this rocks how they view one another more than anything else. Obviously Peeta at first views Katniss as a mutt created by the Capitol. Once he's gone through some treatment, his views are still negative and that she's in the very least manipulative, his feelings and relationship to her bring a lot of confusion (did you love me? did you like kissing me? did you like kissing Gale? what happened on the train? are you my friend, lover, my target, or a mutt?).
Here's the thing with Peeta: he will not for the life of him admit when he needs to be cared for. He is the classic "I will take care of you, but don't worry about taking care of me, I'm fine." But underneath that, he just wants love, he wants someone to show him that he is loveable because he fears he isn't. And this personality trait doesn't disappear when he's hijacked. It is his very nature. But in seeing Katniss from a different light, in both his hijacked memories or her and the real ones clouded by the tracker jacker venom, he's broken to the point where he can't find it in him to love anyone (maybe other than Delly) because the memories have reinforced to him that his worst fear is true: he is unlovable. He gave his heart and was used and betrayed in return, never valued by anyone--not Katniss, not Haymitch, not Finnick.
In that anger, though, he is still reaching out for, yearning for Katniss to answer him. To explain everything to him. And I think a large part of him expects her to confirm she'd only used him the whole time. That his perception of her being a girl who enjoyed toying with him and Gale was true. But deeper underneath that layer of resentment, that part of Peeta that always sees the good and hopes, is searching for the reassurance: no, I love you. You are loveable.
When Peeta references the fact that the memory of Darius and Lavinia's torture wasn't "shiny" as well as the nights on the train that weren't touched by the Capitol, we're given to believe that he might have started to sort through some things on his own. And after Haymitch shakes up Katniss, she nicks a tiny crack in offering him a piece of himself back: his favorite color. Then seeing himself in his hijacked state really wakes him up to how far gone he is, how his perception cannot be trusted anymore.
This is I think where it really starts to turn back for Peeta. If he can't trust his mind, then his opinion of Katniss is wrong. So he has to learn about her all over again. And what does he learn? That she won't let him die. Not when he asks for it, over and over. Not when he first proposes it, not after more discussion, not when he's in the middle of his hijacking episode and she kisses him, puts herself in harms way again, to keep him with her.
The trouble is, Katniss has done this before during both Games, refusing to let Peeta be the one to die. So Peeta doesn't know if he is loveable, or if Katniss is simply that good and brave and strong to not let him go. That opinion he offered her about going to kill Snow, reminding her of the effect she can have...he sees now why she became the Mockingjay, why people followed her. And when he believes that she loves Gale, how can he see her sacrifices for him as anything but noble? If he is broken and worthless but she fights for him anyway, then she must be the hope Panem needs in that dark moment.
As for Katniss, well, we have access to her thoughts and some feelings. And she meets Peeta where he's at in challenging her. When he attacks her, calls her a mutt, something she never thought possible, she sees getting him back as impossible. She mourns him as if he were dead, because their relationship has changed so much she can't see it recovering, as she can't see him recovering.
She does get bits of hope, like Finnick and Annie's wedding cake, but when he comes at her with hostility, she sees that right back at him. It takes Haymitch reminding her who Peeta was, what he would have done for her, that brings her back to him. No longer is she meeting Peeta where he is in his hijacked state. Instead, she is remembering who he was, how he loved her, and tries to see him as he would have seen her in the same state. Through everyone helping out with his recovery, she finally gets glimpses into the true Peeta, the one she loves. Remembering her favorite color is green. That she loved the lamb stew. Giving others encouraging compliments. That he promised to always stay with her.
And after he had been conditioned to kill her, the fact that he saved her life as he always used to--that gave Katniss the belief and the hope that her Peeta, her dandelion in the spring, had truly come back to her, if she would only wait for his return. And then, he did.

How would the various companions react to like during the escape of vault 114 skinny Malone shouts out to his goons "I want that Twink obliterated" at nick
Cait : She gives Nick a nasty glare but crosses Sole's nervousness. She doesn't like this phoney detective who looks down on her, but she doesn't want Sole to feel guilty.
"Don't worry, they'll try; they'll just run into me and my bat on the way."
Codsworth : "We'd better save ourselves as soon as possible!"
Nick casts a glimpse towards the robot accompanying his saviour. "Why? They never threaten you. They're looking for me."
"However, you are Mum/Sir's only hope of finding young master Shaun. We're not going to let them get to you that simply!"
Nick can't help but smile at the robot, which undoubtedly conveys the background thinking of Sole, who rushes into position, weapon in hand.
Curie : "Doux Jesus!" she said. "This man is terrible! Shouldn't we... flee to avoid them?"
"Not a bad idea," says Sole. "However, Nick, you remain well ahead in sight. I didn't come all this way to have holes drilled in you on the way out."
"What about me?"
"Run with him, and I'll cover you."
Danse : "Tactically, it would be more prudent to abandon the synth. We already have enough on our plate without having to defend this individual against a horde of assailants."
"This synth is my one and only chance to find my son!"
Danse sighs as he looks down at Sole.
"Proceed, I will shield you with my armor. But if you attempt to do it backwards, synth, I'll get out of their way, and we'll have to find another way to find Sole's son."
Deacon : His brows appear over the rims of his glasses, but his demeanour remains unaltered as he gives Sole a little hand gesture to proceed forward. Deacon disappears into the shadows as Sole go further with Nick behind them. While Nick and Sole are walking towards the exit, they hear some dry detonations followed by silence. Deacon rejoins the two fugitives on their level.
"They're not going to chase you anymore, Nick," Deacon says.
Dogmeat : He doesn't know what it's about, but his master goes to this detective, whom he sometimes hang with, and both appear to be afraid of something. The dog's hair rises on the back, and he turns toward the fierce energy with a growl. Men approach with a sinister expression. Dogmeat will shred them all.
Elder Maxson : He dislikes Nick Valentine. He dislikes being persuaded to do this with Sole. He has no idea how this happened. (Possibly due to the fact that the Prydwen never arrived in the Commonwealth at this point 😅😉 ) But one thing is certain: he despises losing his goal to the adversary. He spins around in an instant and charges, not like a fool, but like in a true guerrilla, using the shadows to set up ambushes where raw force or gunfire are insufficient. The poor triggermen have little chance against such a smart tactician, who is equally good at conceiving and executing a strategy.
Hancock : "They don't know who they're dealing with!" he exclaims.
And before Sole or Nick can react, he leaps into the melee, dodging gunfire and splitting the stomachs with his knife without hesitation. Nick and Sole make it their business to complete what little work remained. But the mayor can become feral whenever he wants, and threatening one of his buddies brings out the worst in him.
Gage : He casts a mocking glance towards Sole.
"I told you it was a bad plan from the start!"
"I require the services of this detective. We must prevent them from killing him."
"You need that detective. I need an Overboss. But I'm not going to let a gang of triggermen kill me for this, Overboss. You'll meet me at Nuka-World when you remember what your interests are."
He walks away without saying anything else. He's a raider, you know. Loyalty is not something they have a reputation for. (After all, even if you romance him, he is the first to shoot you in Open Season)
MacCready : "It smells like bone."
"If we don't help him, I'll never find my son."
"Two or three hundred more caps and—"
"Wait, are you negotiating at this time?" exclaim Sole.
"There will never be another better time."
"150, and we have a deal."
"Are you serious?" ask Nick, becomeing irritated.
"Sold! Pointe, I fire."
And, needless to say, there is no longer a triggerman to chase a now taciturn Nick who can't believe his life has been negotiated down.
Nick Valentine : He gives Sole a look of concern. That was something he should have expected. Honor is always last on the agenda with individuals like Malone. He raises his weapon and prepares to protect his life, but to his surprise, Sole also shoulders.
"Wait, you're not fleeing? They're looking for me."
"I also require your assistance. Furthermore, there is no need to investigate who is good and who is bad."
The detective says nothing as the exchange of fire begins, but even after the final triggerman has ceased breathing, he continues to ponder about the moment when Sole, a stranger to him, risked their lives for his synthetic skin.
Piper : "Things are getting complicated," she observed.
"You can go, I'll cover your back," Sole replies.
"Don't you think about it seriously? Do you believe this is the most dangerous situation I've ever encountered? Anyway, I'm not giving up Nicky that lightly."
"Wow, Piper, I'd almost be flattered," Nick says, taken aback.
"Don't think too much," she advised. "It's only a matter of ethics."
Preston : "Who do they think they are?" He asks. "We made a deal, and we stuck to it!"
"You can have fun explaining it to them once they put holes on me like a sieve," Nick replies sarcastically.
"Who do you believe I am? We didn't come to pull you out of there and watch you die!"
Sole doesn't waste time debating and rushes into position, ready to receive the triggerman. Preston covers their back and shoots enthusiastically. When there are no more triggermen standing, he moves closer to the nearest body.
"Adhere to the terms of any deal you make. Honor is what keeps a man up when he has nothing else."
Strong : "AAAAAAAAAAARH!" he shouts.
No wondering which side he's on. Sole wants the detective; the men want to kill the detective. Strong kills the men. Strong is powerful. Strong defends Roboman. That’s all.
X6-88 : "I would strongly suggest that we abandon this obsolete model, which appears to be accumulating more and more problems, and instead utilize the Institute's resources in order to achieve your objective." "What are you doing here???!!"

Tumblr media Tumblr media
On January 15:
Am I declaring another GSR holiday?  Maybe.  Why not?  This is my Tumblr account, so I guess I’ll do what I want to do.  Is it already over in pretty much every time zone except mine?  Yep, that too.  (Edited to add: it’s over here now, too, by the time of posting.)
January 15 is a pretty significant day in GSR history—perhaps the most significant.   (Surely the first day of the AAFS conference would be in the running in the fictional world. But in the real world I’d say January 15 beats out most.)  First, twenty years ago, on January 15, 2004, we got “Butterflied” (04x12). Then, exactly five years later, on January 15, 2009, we got “One to Go” (09x10), the episode that really should have tied it all up with a bow (and, for a time, did).
Last week I made a GIF-set for Sara’s introduction in “Cool Change” (01x02) then a day or two later I continued my CSI rewatch with “Invisible Evidence” (04x07).  Inevitably I watched the (“Pin me down”) scene repeatedly before continuing with the episode.  I know season 04 is the GSR angst season (*insert “TM” I can’t type here*).  But, spending that much time with “I don’t even have to turn around” and “Pin me down” in such quick succession, I was particularly struck by the sadness of these two people having gone from friends (or “friends,” if you get my drift, of course) who were, despite the tragic circumstances surrounding their reunion, pretty darn happy to see each other to, in about three years’ time, colleagues who could barely have a normal, non-awkward conversation.  (See: “I’m always over-talking around you.”)  Viewed in retrospect it’s an enjoyable though angsty loop in the GSR roller coaster ride, but it feels really sad when viewed from the perspective of the time.
At the end of season 03, Grissom turns down Sara’s dinner invitation (“Play with Fire,” 03x22).  In “Invisible Evidence,” “Pin me down” aside, he’s kind of a jerk to her (when she’s concerned about the murder she’s already investigating, he gives her the terse “It’s not a negotiation”).  He lets her down again in the next episode (“After the Show,” 04x08), when he lets Catherine take over Sara and Nick’s case just because the suspect thinks Catherine is “the pretty one.”  Sara doesn’t know it until much later, but she suffers another (metaphorical) blow at his hands in “Eleven Angry Jurors” (04x11), when he recommends Nick for the ultimately-cancelled promotion to Lead CSI (whatever the heck that is) over Sara.  Of course, at the same time, Sara and Grissom get some ridiculous cuteness in that episode, as seen here, when Grissom makes a corny pun over a bee (of course a 🐝) corpse and checks to make sure Sara thinks he’s adorable.  (Newsflash: she does!)
(As an aside, on which I will possibly ramble more at a later date, I tend to see Grissom up to this point as a wounded animal—occasionally accidentally lashing out at his would-be rescuer, Sara—who is simply unequipped and unprepared for the situation in which he has found himself, so I think he is trying his best but does not really realize how deeply wounded he is.)
Then we continue on the GSR roller coaster with the beloved and angsty “Butterflied.”  CSI being a show about forensics, this really could have been the kind of relationship that always simmered under the surface but never came to much of anything for the presumably star-crossed lovers.  We know the writers planned to let the whole thing disappear after Sara’s failed dinner invitation.  But WP and JF liked playing the relationship!  (JF has, repeatedly I am sure, said it was her favourite part of the show!)  They didn’t want it to go away!  So instead in the first half of season 04 we get first “Pin me down” and then the David Rambo-penned “Butterflied,” which finally confirms (as we all knew all along!) that Sara does not just have some unrequited schoolgirl crush on her boss and mentor.  This is the real deal, and Dr. Grissom has been suppressing some deep feelings for the young and beautiful Ms. Sidle—really deep feelings, as seen in the original script for Grissom’s “Butterflied” monologue.
I don’t actually remember watching “Butterflied” for the first time.  At the time most of my attention was focused on my first year of [professional] school.  I was definitely a more casual fan and not down the rabbit hole (although I am the kind of person who manages to ship couples on shows she’s never even watched).  The first episode of CSI for which I have a clear memory of having an emotional reaction was “Bloodlines” (04x23), because I felt pretty upset by Sara’s almost-DUI.
On the other hand, I have a very clear memory of first watching “One to Go” (09x10), which originally aired fifteen years ago today (yesterday now), although I did not first watch it on that day.  I was in Pakse exactly fifteen years ago, or so my photo evidence tells me; so I assume I would not have managed to watch the episode live in Laos (I didn’t even have a laptop with me), but I must have watched it soon after I got home at the end of the month, and I was wholly unspoiled for the experience.
I don’t know whether anyone at the time had hints of whether JF was showing up at all for WP’s last episode.  (Fi?  Anyone?)  But as far as I am aware they all pulled an ER/George Clooney and didn’t let anyone in on the last scene.  (GSR has echoed Doug on the docks on more than one epic relationship occasion.  And yeah that song is so perfect that it’s on my GSR fic playlist for the first post-“Immortality” reunion chapter.)  They held JF’s name from the initial credits so as not to give her appearance away.  So there we were in the last scene, with Gil Grissom walking through the “Costa Rican” rainforest, and Sara Sidle still nowhere to be seen, and I vividly remember thinking, “Please just tell us he goes to Sara, please just tell us he goes to Sara, please just tell us he goes to Sara, please just tell us he goes to Sara, please just tell us he goes to… Sara!!!”  I’m in tears just thinking about it—I kid you not.
Anyway, I am sure that scene in Costa Rica is ingrained in the hearts and minds of GSR fans everywhere, but—just in case you needed to see another version—I made a two-part GIF set for it, which you can find here and here.  I think “Wild Heart” by Bleachers is a perfect song for Grissom going into the rainforest in search of his beloved, so it makes me pretty emotional (and of course “Unbound” by Robbie Robertson is a GSR classic).
On another note, this weekend I also made a season 04/CSIV GIF-set (not linked because it’s currently sitting in my drafts, uncertain as to its fate), and I have to say I find it really pretty remarkable that we got to see our two lovely science nerds go from a cute-turned-angsty under the surface maybe-relationship to a real relationship, to our awkward bugman going on a heroic journey (“from the isolated figure we first meet him as to the one who, when he leaves us, believes, above everything, in love”) and following his beloved into the rainforest, to places we don’t talk about (okay, I could have skipped that part), to sailing off into the sunset together, to being the world’s cutest old marrieds.  It really was a roller coaster ride, but I think it’s pretty special (and I feel pretty privileged) that we got to experience it all.
I’ll stop rambling now.  Usually I proofread everything I write about twenty times to make sure I haven’t missed any typos or accidentally written anything that could offend anyone, but tonight I’m posting this immediately before going to bed.  So, if you’ve actually read this far, please be polite in pointing out my typos, and please know that I really didn’t mean any offence (to anyone, on anything).
Those are my (very rough) thoughts; obviously your perspective may differ! 💛 Happy tumbling!

Agatha All Along episode 1.08 "Follow Me My Friend, To Glory At The End"
I’m usually waist-deep in a lengthy 2000s drama, and therefore late to the game with current shows, but I’m happy to say I’m right on time with Agatha. And I’m glad about that!
Nonetheless, I wish Marvel didn’t put me in the position to say ‘it’s really good… for Marvel.” But it’s really good! For Marvel. I liked so much of it, and the rest I chalk up to a brand issue rather than a problem with this particular show, so I’m deciding to focus on the best parts of it. And I think this show was at its best in the penultimate episode (we can sidebar about the actual ending, it took the wind out of this incredible reveal, imo).
108 picks up right where 107 left off, in the aftermath of Lilia’s really beautiful Tarot reading and sendoff. Agatha makes a deal with Rio, agreeing to convince Billy to willingly give himself to Rio and “restore the sacred balance”. The inevitability of death is a theme I really like in this show. Rio’s scoff at being called evil in the finale really drives that point home as she emphasizes that she’s the most “natural” thing there is. I don’t disagree.
Agatha, Billy, and surviving coven member Jen head off towards the last trial… and instead trip over the shoes they took off at the start of their journey. The Road is a circle, and they’re back where they started. Agatha, seeming to not know The Road as well as she should as the only person who’s ever done it before, insists that they do the whole thing again. Jen refuses out of fear, but more importantly, that just can’t be right.
Tumblr media
Billy, seemingly hardened with his newly revealed power, is fed up with The Road. They walked it barefoot out of respect for its path, but he’s fresh out of respect. He pulls his boots back on and suddenly finds himself clawing his way out of a body bag in a metal room. Agatha and Jen are close behind. The room is illuminated with grow lights that go out one by one- another ticking clock.
Without a green witch at their disposal, Agatha and Billy turn to Jen as their last hope of growing something in this soil and water-less room. Instead, their conversation reveals that Agatha was in fact the one who bound Jen decades ago, preventing her from using her magic. Emotionally, Jen performs an unbinding ritual with Agatha and disappears as soon as it’s over. She got what she needed from The Road, and it released her. This leaves Agatha and Billy.
First, Agatha tries pleading with Billy to give her some of his power, the thing she sought on The Road. Billy refuses, not trusting her to not to take it all. Besides, if The Road spits her out, he’ll be alone in there. So, Agatha taps into her motherly side, the side that’s so shrouded in grief that she avoids it all costs. She holds Billy and guides him through his last memories with Tommy. She helps him hold Tommy’s life in his mind, and then helps him scour the world for a body to put him in, just as he did for himself with William Kaplan.
This really is selfless on Agatha’s part- she’s breaking her promise to Rio. Rio wanted him for the exact purpose of preventing him from defying her a second time by reincarnating Tommy. The lines are blurry, though, and Billy can’t tell if he’s simply capitalizing on a boy’s untimely death or causing it. His work complete, he leaves The Road just like Jen and doesn’t hear Agatha’s tender reassurance of “No, Billy… sometimes boys die.”
Tumblr media
Left alone, Agatha is forced to confront her own emotional battle with life and death. She opens her locket containing a lock of Nicky’s hair and gently plants it in the dirt revealed by the cracks Billy’s magic created. She waters it with her tears, and up grows a dandelion, primed for a wish. She blows its leaves into the air, prompting the end of the final trial. The ceiling begins to dump rocks and dirt on her, and she escapes up some stairs in the nick of time. She didn’t find what she was looking for, but she completed all The Road’s trials and resurfaces in her yard in Westview.
She comes face to face with Rio, who plans to take Agatha instead now that she’s failed to deliver Billy. Just as she’s about to lose their subsequent battle, they’re interrupted by Billy, now fully transformed into Wiccan. He holds Rio at bay long enough to share some of his power with Agatha. Though she readily takes it, she spares Billy and tells him Death can’t be evaded. She offers to go with Rio, though when Billy selflessly offers himself in her place, Agatha turns on a dime. It seems this was her plan all along to fulfill her deal with Rio.
But in a final telepathic plea, Billy asks if this was how Nicky died, being offered to Death in her place. We still don’t know what exactly happened to Nicky, but this hits a nerve, and Agatha turns on her heel and offers Rio a passionate kiss on the lips. As she does, Death’s magic wraps around her, laying her down. As she sinks into the earth, a beautiful, colorful arrangement of fungi and flora spring up where her body once was. Another pretty indicator that Death isn’t a foil to beauty or nature, but rather a crucial element of both of those things.
Tumblr media
Admittedly somewhat anticlimactic, Rio dismisses Billy, who just gets in his car and drives home. While he rejected the idea of embracing Wanda as his mom (“I already have a mom”), we don’t see any real bond between him and William Kaplan’s parents. They fuss over him, having been worried sick that he’s been missing for 24 hours, but he seems detached. I would’ve found it cool and interesting to see him hold more love for them, but I digress.
Billy walks into his bedroom almost as if seeing it for the first time. Clearly a fan of The Wizard of Oz, he suddenly notices uncanny parallels between his interests and his experience on The Road. He has a collection of shoe figurines, tons of Wizard of Oz memorabilia, a Ouija board, a Lorna Wu poster, the list goes on. The show’s homages to The Wizard of Oz don’t stop there, as Billy realizes that he’s already encountered everyone in their makeshift coven at some point in his life- just like fixtures of the Yellow Brick Road bear striking resemblance to people in Dorothy’s life in Kansas.
Yet unlike Dorothy’s awakening from a daze that makes her wonder if the world of Oz was a figment of a concussion-addled dream, Billy faces a much more horrific realization. While The Road was conjured in his mind, its existence, and the deaths that occurred within it, are very real indeed. Like mother like son.
In the series finale we learn that there was never a Road at all. Agatha made up the song with Nicky way back when, and as rumors about it spread, she used it to serve her life’s mission of killing witches and absorbing their power. Her ghost comforts Billy as he wrestles with the responsibility of inadvertently killing their allies in the hellscape his mind created (“I was gonna kill ‘em all on day one”).
Tumblr media
A plot twist like this can feel gimmicky if it’s out of left field, thrown in for shock value alone. But this one felt like pieces falling into place, the new reality feeling even more true to the characters than what we thought was happening all along.
I have some less than positive thoughts on both the first and last episode. They really leaned into the detective trope in the pilot in a way that made it more confusing than anything else when they abandoned it ten minutes in. And Agatha returning as a literal classic floating translucent ghost in the finale felt gimmicky, cheapening the sacrifice she made by giving herself to Rio. Not to mention completely rejecting the obvious silver lining of the continuation of their romance in death… on the whole, the sapphic element of this show was highly teased, anticipated, and praised, yet, as I often find with mainstream queer content, anticlimactic and half-baked.
Nonetheless, this has gotta be the gayest Marvel content we’ve ever seen, the song is a banger (and it’s a good thing because they really got their money’s worth out of it), and The Road is chock full of symbolism and metaphor that I’ll be thinking about for days. What’d you think?

Missing you
Tumblr media
* English is not my first language I apologise
* Triggers: fluff
Nick pov
I was sitting alone in my hotel room in Las Vegas, looking at her profile picture. ‘Damn, I fucking miss her.’ I clicked on our conversation and smiled, looking at our last text messages. She had sent me a photo a hour ago, she was smiling at the camera, looking beautiful as always.
Me: fucking beautiful ❤️
I sighed and got up to get ready for some exploring and going out with a few friends of mine. I grabbed my wallet and my hotel keys and went to the lobby, waiting for the others to be ready.
“Nick, you sure?” Jose asked me as I sat down on one of the sofas. “Yeah I’m good.” I waved him off and grabbed my phone and saw she replied back to me.
Y/n❤️: thank you handsome 🥵
Me: no problem, how’s everything?
“Nick we ordered some shots.” A tray full with shots was placed on the table in front of me. “Sheesh, that’s…” they laughed and took one. “Come on Nick, don’t be a pussy.” I shook my head and took one as well. “See, this is life Nick, this is where you belong.” He pointed at everything around us, the alcohol, the women… “enjoy your night.” He patted on my shoulders and took an another one. Jose smiled at me, trying to keep the atmosphere good in here. “You okay?” Steve asks me as I sat further down in my seat. “Yeah, just uhh…thinking.” He nods and looks at the rest. “I don’t want to invade your privacy but maybe you should go home in the few couple of days…” I knew what he meant, I’m away for a few months while my girl is pregnant and is in Stockton, waiting for me. “Yeah..maybe.”
As the night goes by the loneliness caught me up. ‘ they are not even here for me…’ a new group of women past by and the guys started to hit in them, lurking them in by mentioning me. ‘Fake friends…except for Steve and Jose, they are good guys, the only ones who are not playing stupid games with them.’ “Nick, this is….” They were introducing me to a young looking woman, who was uncomfortable. “Hi.” She says with a small smile on her face. “Hey.” “Just sit down next to him, he doesn’t bite.” They literally made her sit down. ‘Oh fucking god, just leave me alone!’ “I’ll bring you a drink sugar.” He disappears and I turned myself to her. “Listen, just go if you want to go. I’m not interested in what they want.” She nods and smiles. “Thank you, you seem like a nice genuine guy Nick.” And with that she disappears into the crowd again. “Hey, why did she leave?” I shrugged my shoulders. “I was not her type.”
I was back at the hotel, laying in bed as I was reading her text messages.
Y/n❤️: I’m okay, I just miss you 🙈
Y/n❤️: but how’s everything going so far?
Me: I’m coming home tomorrow…
Me: I miss you too baby
I lay my phone down and looked up at the ceiling. ‘I need her more than I think I do.’ I turned around to my side and closed my eyes, trying to fall asleep.
Y/n pov
I woke up and saw Nick texted me, he’s coming back home after 3 weeks. I smiled at our text messages. ‘He’s the best.’ I quickly send him a cute morning photo with my pregnant belly and got up to get a warm shower to relax. As I was showering I heard my phone going off, I carefully opened the glass door and grabbed my phone. *Nick❤️ is video calling* I smiled and accepted the call, he was sitting at the airport and immediately he smiles. “Hi Nicky.” I chirped as I only showed my face as tiny water droplets were rolling down my face. “Hey baby, how are you doing?” He was smiling like a little school boy in a candy store. “I’m okay, my feet are starting to hurt, they are swelling a bit.” “I’m coming home baby, I’m done here.” He went with his other hand through his hair, looking a bit upset. “I can’t wait to see you.” “Me too baby.” I giggled as he gave me a wink. “Your belly is growing fast now.” I nodded and rubbed my belly. “Yeah…can’t wait.” I gave him a shy smile and he nods. “Can’t wait either baby.” I saw him looking away. “Baby I have to go, I need to board my plane.” He got up and grabbed his bag. “Okay, be safe. I’ll see ya soon.” “I will, love ya.” “I love.” He hung up immediately. I placed my phone back and went back under the shower, smiling like an idiot.
Nick POV
I came home in the middle of the night. I silently walked upstairs with my bags in my hands. ‘She probably sleeping.’ I placed them in a corner in the hallway and slowly opens the bedroom door. She was sitting right up in bed, smiling as her nightlight was on. “Hi baby.” I softly said as I walked over to the bed, she was reaching her arms out to me. “Hi Nicky.” I thrown my clothes off and crawled in bed. “Come here.” She carefully moves over and lays her head against my shoulder. “I missed you.” I kissed her head and gently rubbed her belly. “I missed you too baby.” She placed a few kisses on my collarbone while tracing my chest. I was softly rubbing her belly as I felt the baby kick, a proud smile appeared on my face. “Baby…you felt that?” She nods and grabs my hand, placing it a bit lower. I felt a lot of movement. “He’s happy that you’re back.” “I’m happy to be back as well, little ninja is kicking some combos in there.” She giggles and softly squeezes my hand. “Don’t encourage him Nick, it hurt tho.” I looked at her as she looked a bit uneasy. I moved down to her belly, placing a few soft kissed on it, her hands went to my through my hair, softly massaging my head. “Listen here buddy, I need you to be nice to her. You need to wait a little bit longer to throw those combos my guy. Daddy will be there to make you a real ninja.” I heard her giggling and I looked up. “A ninja Nick, really?” I nodded and looked back and pressed a few kisses on the lower part of her belly. “I love you buddy.” I whispered against her skin as I felt happiness flowing through my chest. ‘I will always love my family even when I think I don’t need them….’

CH 5- Somewhere "Safe"
Prev
TW: Arachnophobia (very brief)
Ian stopped, and Adelaide swayed on his shoulder. He held up a finger to signal everyone to be quiet, and Adelaide turned around to see what he was seeing. Nothing was there, but the sound of animals and vehicles assaulted their ears, which meant they were close. And something big was happening.
The group sprinted up a small hill, but as they neared the top, they all ducked down to avoid notice.
What Adelaide saw shocked her. Down in the grassy plains below, these new people - these men - were hunting the dinosaurs. They were methodically capturing them and hurting them, which put a sour taste in her mouth.
On one hand, Adelaide was secretly relieved. The more dinosaurs these people captured, the less they’d have to worry about dinosaur attacks.
On the other hand, Adelaide felt bad for the dinosaurs. They weren’t hurting anybody (yet). They were set free on this island and had grown accustomed to life on their own. The Humans were the invaders (big surprise) and Adelaide couldn’t help but feel empathetic toward the animals’ struggle.
The latter argument dominated in her mind for now, and she watched with horror as the dinosaurs were taken down one by one by men with guns and spears and rope and with no care at all for the animals.
Adelaide could feel Sarah sitting close behind her, breathing down her neck, but she could hardly bring herself to care. The Beans had been non-threatening so far, and she was distracted by the chaos ensuing in front of them. What were they supposed to do? How was their small, ragtag group supposed to stop this amount of people? People who had guns .
They watched for a long time, at a loss for words. Nick set up some device and pointed his camera at them, hopefully documenting what was happening.
When Ludlow’s team disappeared and the dust settled, everyone stood up and stretched, ready to follow them.
The sun set quickly, and Adelaide found she was grateful she came dressed in layers. Ian must have felt her shiver, because his hand was there to cover her within seconds.
“I’m okay, thanks,” Adelaide said, laying her small hand on his and pushing it away.
“I can hear your teeth chattering,” Ian exaggerated. His hand floated a couple inches away, waiting for her consent.
“I’m fine, really,” she insisted. Adelaide didn’t want to seem like she needed his help in front of all these Beans. Especially Nick, for some odd reason. Again, not that she cared what anybody thought, but she cared what everybody thought. She could see how Nick looked at her, how he didn’t believe that she wasn’t some exotic pet, and she felt like she needed to prove herself otherwise. Also, he was just so cool. The way he carried himself, the way he spoke, the stupid camera - it was all so… cool.
They once again came upon Ludlow’s team, and wow, did they know how to set up camp. There were tents everywhere and big equipment and cages (which they could only assume contained dinosaurs) and people milling about. It could have been a whole town for all Adelaide knew, and it sprung up in a matter of hours.
“This is why Hammond was in such a hurry to get you here. He knew they were coming,” Ian muttered.
“So they actually want to build another park here? After what you said happened on the other island?” Kelly asked.
“They’re not building anything. They’re taking these animals out of here. Back to the mainland.”
That felt worse. The original Jurassic Park dinosaurs - captivity was all they knew, and they were genetically engineered by humans. Adelaide couldn’t justify the park, but it felt marginally better than taking these animals from their natural home.
“Ah, I think I should tell you guys,” Nick piped up. “Hammond told me these people might show up. He thought we’d be finished by the time they started but if they weren’t, he did send a backup plan.”
“What backup plan?” Sarah asked. Nobody on the team seemed to be aware of any backup plan.
“Me,” Nick said, pulling out a pair of wire cutters.
“Holy shit, that’s cool,” Adelaide whispered, staring at the massive contraption in his hands. She simply could not hold that in. Nick gave her a smirk in response. “So, you’re breaking them out? The dinosaurs?”
“And hopefully destroy their base camp, yeah.”
Adelaide smiled devilishly. Now this was more her speed.
“You all have, um, have so much fun. I will be heading back to the trailer with my daughter and Adelaide. Sarah? Eddie?” Ian asked if they’d accompany them.
“Woah, what if I want to go?” Adelaide protested.
“You want to?” Ian asked pointedly, knowing the answer. She’d say yes just to be stubborn, but her nerves would win out in the end. No way would she put herself in Nick’s hands, or anyone else who was stupid enough to go with him.
“Yeah, kinda.”
“Alright then.” Ian held his hand up next to his shoulder.
It was a game of chicken. Adelaide was confident that, even if she decided to go, Ian would hold her back. Ian was confident that, even if he encouraged her to go, she would hold herself back.
“Fine,” Adelaide swallowed, and slowly stepped onto his hand. Ian pulled her out and held her in front of his face. He gave her a knowing look. “What?” she snapped irritably.
“You do not want to go.”
“I do too!”
“Della.”
“Ian.”
“No offense, sweetheart, I don’t think this is the mission for you,” Nick said. He could watch the back and forth forever, but they were on a deadline.
“What’s that supposed to mean?!” Adelaide sputtered.
“I ’preciate the offer, but unless you can operate these,” he held up the wire cutters, and Adelaide pretended she didn’t flinch, “I don’t think it’s happening.”
“I’ll come with you,” Sarah interrupted. Ian looked entirely exasperated while Adelaide was absolutely fuming. In the end, she probably wouldn’t have gone with them, but she was hoping to at least outlast Ian. And despite Nick’s belittling comments, Adelaide felt a wave of relief.
Meanwhile, Kelly was unable to tear her eyes away from the commotion below ever since they arrived at their hiding spot. The reality of their situation finally came crashing down on her, and she was scared.
“Dad, I want to go someplace else. I don’t want to be here. I want to be somewhere safe,” she urged.
“Okay - okay. We’ll head back to the trailer, and-”
“I want to be somewhere high,” she said.
Ian and Eddie looked at each other, brains on the same wavelength. Eddie spoke first. “The high hide?” he suggested.
Adelaide recalled them talking about a “high hide” back when they were in the garage. She was pretty distracted then, and she never had the opportunity to see it, so she hardly knew what they were talking about. She wondered if it was a common human thing or something specifically made for dinosaur islands.
At this point, Sarah and Nick were ready to go. “Be safe,” Ian said, mostly to Sarah. He knew she would wave him off, and she did, but it had to be said.
“I’ll meet you back at the trailer, okay?” Sarah said. Ian nodded, but Adelaide could feel the tension in his hand. And with that, they went their separate ways.
As they walked along, Adelaide voiced a fear that had been nagging at her ever since Kelly mentioned wanting to go up high. She understood that need. Being up high provided a sense of security. Nothing can reach you if you’re up high enough! Even Beans! Unfortunately, there were creatures on this island much taller than Beans.
“Won’t being up high put us exactly at the level of-”
Ian cut her off as soon as he knew where the sentence was headed. “At a, um, a safe level? Yes, yes it will.”
Oh, duh. One look at Kelly let Adelaide know she was beyond terrified. Pointing out how they’d be at T-Rex head level would do nothing to help the situation. Adelaide had to remind herself that Kelly was a child. Children got scared, and it was the adults’ job to ease those fears.
Speaking of being up high, Ian never put Adelaide back on his shoulder. She was still sitting in his hand, swaying in time with his gait. So, she took it upon herself to climb back up.
Once Ian felt the slight pressure in his hands disappear, he looked down. “Hey!” he said, and the rumble of his voice nearly made Adelaide lose her grip. Seeing this, Ian’s hand was there in a second, scooping underneath her.
“Hey, yourself! What are you doing?” Adelaide called, trying to keep the annoyance out of her voice. He was just trying to help. But she had it under control.
“You almost fell.”
“Yeah, cause you scared me.”
“You shouldn’t do that while I’m - while I’m walking, especially, uh, in a place like this.”
Adelaide clenched her fists. Who was he to tell her what she could and couldn’t do? Ever since Jurassic Park, Ian’s protective meter went off the charts. It was endearing a lot of the time. It was incredibly irritating and exhausting the rest of the time.
Ian seemed to realize this. “Just… be careful, okay?” There was a faint plea in his voice, and that was the closest they were getting to an apology. “Do you want to keep going?”
“I’m already in your hand, dude. Just put me on your shoulder,” Adelaide laughed.
Ian wordlessly placed her up there and they continued on.
Because of the injury to his leg, Ian had a faint limp when he walked. It was nothing compared to how bad it was when they first got off the island, but it was still there, and would probably never go away. After spending so long getting used to the way Ian walked, it was jarring to have it change completely. Adelaide was only starting to get used to the limp - she needed to be more aware and hold on tighter - but she was determined not to say anything. She could tell Ian was self-conscious about it and it definitely affected him more than it affected her.
Just then, the clouds opened up and rain started to pour. Adelaide groaned, because there was no way she wasn’t getting drenched. And if she got drenched, she got cold. And she would not dry off for a very long time.
They arrived at what Adelaide assumed was the high hide. It was the only man-made-looking contraption in the vicinity.
Very little setup was required. Some hooks here, some winches there, and shortly they were climbing into a moveable room. Well, almost like a room. It had waist-height (at least for Beans) walls made of chain-link fencing and it had a thatched roof, which gave them shelter from the rain. Cameras lined the roof, though they seemed to be pointed outward. Eddie flipped some switches and they were suddenly hoisted into the air.
As they cleared the treetops, Adelaide marveled at the site before them. If it wasn’t so dark and rainy, she would be able to see for miles. She wondered what it would look like in the daytime.
Kelly didn’t even register the view. She was still upset, muttering about how she was so stupid, how she shouldn’t have come.
Ian comforted her. “This is the safest place you can be. Like Sarah said, the plants make it so the animals won’t know you’re here.”
“You’re just trying to make me feel better. I remember the stories you told,” she shot back.
“This is nothing like that. We’re in a completely different situation now,” Ian lied.
Adelaide was about to add her two cents, hoping she could help, but a loud, familiar roar sounded in the distance. She was hoping there wasn’t one on the island, but it was stupid to even think that. Obviously there would be a T-Rex.
Adelaide knew she needed to be an adult here, maintain her composure, but her breathing involuntarily became more and more frantic. She clutched tighter to Ian’s collar.
Once again, Ian was thinking about others while Adelaide was only thinking about herself. He needed to warn Sarah and Nick, and he hoped they were back at the trailer by now. “Is there any way we can communicate with the trailer?”
Eddie handed him a phone, which rang and rang and rang. No answer. Of course.
“How do I get down?” Ian asked. Eddie handed him a belt contraption to strap himself into, and Kelly immediately went into a panic.
She begged Ian not to leave. “Stay here. Come on, stay here. Please! Dad, please stay here.”
Eddie talked over her, giving Ian instructions on how to get down. Squeeze the rope hard. The harder he squeezes, the slower he falls.
“Della, any chance you’d stay here?” Ian asked.
“Not a chance,” Adelaide responded definitively.
“Yeah, didn’t think so.”
“Hey, I don’t bite!” Eddie exclaimed. Adelaide stared at him, wondering why he would say that, but then she realized it was a joke.
She forced an awkward laugh. “Well that’s good… I guess. Uh… thanks, but no thanks.” Eddie didn’t seem to take any offense. Adelaide decided that he was a good guy. Sure, he was curious and a little off-put by her existence, but she couldn’t blame him. Besides that, he didn’t really bother her, and didn’t seem like he wanted to. Still, Adelaide couldn’t trust him enough to stay in the high hide with only him and Kelly. Plus, she promised herself she wouldn’t leave Ian’s side this time.
Ian bent down to Kelly’s level. This put Adelaide lower than she wanted to be.
“Honey? The queen? The goddess?” he said, drawing her out of her panic.
“Your inspiration?” Kelly added tentatively.
“Now you’re talking. All right. I’m coming right back. I give you my word.”
“But you never keep your word!” Kelly yelled, a little louder than any of them would have liked.
Ian didn’t have a comeback.. He couldn’t say that wasn’t true. He couldn’t give her any more assurance than he already had. With nothing left to do, he leapt over the edge of the high hide and plummeted to the ground below, leaving Adelaide clinging for dear life and screaming her head off.
They hit the ground hard. Adelaide felt her bones shake on impact, and she rolled forward right off Ian’s shoulder. She hardly registered what had happened before he caught her, and they stayed put for a minute. All Adelaide could do was lay there. Her teeth felt like they were going to fall out and she was beyond disoriented, but she was alive.
“Jesus, are you okay?” Ian asked, coming back to his senses and urgently climbing out of the gear.
“I think so,” Adelaide said without much thought behind it. “You?”
“I think so.”
Then, Adelaide started to laugh. “Holy shit, why didn’t you squeeze the rope!”
“I did!” Ian protested, but he was also laughing, even if he was a bit sore.
“Obviously not!”
“I’ll let you do it next time, then.”
“You do that,” Adelaide said, but they sobered up quickly. They were back on the ground. It was still pouring rain, so they couldn’t see anything. Sarah and Nick were out there with a T-Rex.
Ian deposited Adelaide on his shoulder and they set off for the trailer, which wasn’t too far away. And just as expected, when they arrived, it was empty.
“Dammit!” Ian yelled, slamming his hand on the wall. Adelaide jumped.
“Okay, I know this sucks,” she said gently, wringing out her damp hair and wiping the rain out of her eyes, “But they’ll probably be back soon. Why don’t we take a breather here and regroup, maybe try the radio again to contact the boat guy.”
Ian sighed. “Yeah, okay.” He plopped down into the chair and regarded the wall of switches and dials and buttons.
“I’m gonna stretch my legs,” Adelaide said. “I haven’t been able to stand up this whole trip. If I go much longer, I’m scared they’ll be unusable.”
“Be careful,” Ian said for what felt like the hundredth time that day as he held his hand to his shoulder.
“Always am.”
He lowered her to the floor and she took off in a random direction. She wanted to put herself as far away from his feet as possible as soon as possible. It’s not that she didn’t trust Ian, but standing on the ground next to a giant was something Adelaide was not brave enough to do. One moment of inattention could be fatal, and so it was best to avoid the situation altogether.
Down here, it was a whole different world. Furniture soared into the heavens at such a steep angle that it began to look warped. The floor was cold, wet, and dirty, the ceiling was beyond reach, and Adelaide could feel the vibrations of everything - the buzzing equipment on the wall, Ian shifting in his chair, even the goings on of the outdoors. She clutched the strap of her bag, thankful she had it by her side.
Adelaide figured she could do laps around the edge of the trailer until she got tired. No borrower was stupid enough to waltz out into the center of the room, away from the safety of the walls. That’s where Beans walked.
She looked back at Ian, who was messing with the radio and trying to speak to literally anyone who would pick up. Since he was distracted, she took off.
The trailer was dusty. That made sense - most borrowers were accustomed to dust anywhere they went, and even clean places found ways to accumulate it. The trailer seemed new, advanced, and pristine, but Beans didn’t have the same perspective. They couldn’t see the dust that Adelaide could. It wanted so badly to cling to her, so she’d have to brush herself off after she was done.
Somewhere in the background, she registered a woman’s voice. Ian must have gotten through, but Adelaide didn’t recognize a single word she said. It must have been a different language. Ian probably wasn’t happy about that.
Adelaide wasn’t sure how much time had passed, lost in her thoughts and enjoying the much-needed alone time. Once she reached the far end of the trailer, she stopped to rest. The vehicle was a lot longer than she thought, so once she recuperated, she would head back toward Ian.
A little disgusted, Adelaide leaned her back against the dirty wall and slid down until her butt touched the ground. Looking behind her, she saw the trail of water she left behind, and even now it accumulated into a nice little puddle beneath her. The trapped heat of the trailer helped a little, but it was a wet heat, so Adelaide didn’t expect to dry off any time soon. Her dripping hair was confirmation of that.
Then she heard it. A faint shuffling sound was the only warning Adelaide got before a ginormous, terrifying spider bolted her way.
