well. I wanna cry now

I rewatched Dead Poets Society a few weeks ago and felt inspired to write this contrapuntal poem :)

fic where neil lives and the andersons go away for a week for a business trip during the summer, leaving the house to their youngest son todd

they just quickly leave, not really hearing as todd asks if he can have a friend over, just nodding and leaving

todd calls neil and asks if he has a week

neil either makes some excuse about having a week long college-prep sleepover or the perrys r a little better after their son trying to kill himself idk

anyway logic aside; for the week, neil stays over

they cuddle on todd's giant bed; neil spends his time poking through todd's things and it would be so annoying if it wasn't neil

they cook together, like if they were already living together

they try baking; it ends with the entire kitchen covered in ingredients and them covered in frosting and there, messy, cake covered, they kiss, until they pull away to take a breath and neil realizes todd's frosting covered hands were all over his hair and the look in todd's eyes show that he knew

after getting cleaned up, and cleaning the kitchen, they invite the poets becuz they made so much cake and the 7 eat it all until they get sick

anyway

its just a week of todd and neil being domestic and silly and happy, featuring the poets

Just this entire scene, trying to be there for Todd while he’s grieving. Charlie saying “leave him be” is making me want to jump out of a window. Also, when Todd says “It’s so beautiful” idk why but I feel like he’s talking abt Neil OR he’s prob getting flash backs to that one deleted scene. I’m prob just being stupid tho.

Mr. Keating looking at Todd while Neil is giving his performance. He just knew tbh. Mr Keating Supremacy 🛐 Todd was also mouthing all the lines during this scene which just makes my heart explode every time.

Meeks looking over to these two while Knox was being a little simp for Chris. I keep seeing everyone make Charlie the #1 anderperry shipper, I personally do not agree w this 😭. Meeks would def the officiant at their wedding. (Neil didn’t die wtaf are you on.)

Not a shipping moment, but I just wanna say that no one in this fandom can tell me that Todd wasn’t making sure he looked good for Neil. HE WAS.
