"Please, Neil, answer me." Todd sat up in bed. "I know you're dead but you can't just leave me like this," he sobbed. "You can't be gone forever. Please come back and tell me about the play!"

There was still no reply.

"You were so... excited... about the... play," Todd said between sobs. He crawled out of his bed and made his way to Neil's bed, using his knees and palms to get there. "Please just tell me about the play..." he cried against the bare mattress.
