The levels of annoyance I feel whenever I see Kirk and Spock's friendship (not in the romantic sense, just in general) get praised and described as 'iconic' and 'soulmates'... and McCoy's whole existence and relationship with both gets totally ignored, and he gets kicked to the curb like he doesn't exist just...

can't decide who's best as who -

- Spock makes sense as Peter bc of the large family

- but the initial friction between Jack and Lucy is sooo Spock and McCoy

- which means Kirk would be the one in the coma

- With Kirk in a coma, I could see McCoy as a Jack type, gruff and protective having known him forever but I can't see Spock as a hopeless romantic Lucy who would say he was going to marry him, and he's not lonely in quite the same way.

- which would mean Spock as Jack, which I could also see - thyla is brother right, which means the family could still be Spock's which would be so fun.

- also Spock as Jack and McCoy as Lucy is just a really fun dynamic that works well with them. Spock's family drama and skepticism, McCoy's encouragement and impulsiveneds leading to embarrassment. Also both of their different types of loneliness.

- the other option is Spock in a coma where I could really see Kirk as a Lucy but McCoy is more complicated as a Jack. He would def be protective and also skeptical though

- to not even go into the divorce/been cheated on addition that would affect all of these with McCoy
