Hello all, here I am with an unashamed 1x1 rp ad! My name is Qrow, I’m a queer ND rper who’s been writing for far too long. Here are a few rules:

- Please be 18+

- NSFW is allowed, but I ask that it does not become the primary focus of the rp

- I rp on here and Instagram but mainly Discord

- I am semi-lit to advanced lit, with multiple paragraphs. However I am generally good at matching length

Hi there! Thanks to my autism and a little fan content, i have come to desire shadowgast (Essek and Caleb for those who like the ship but hadn’t heard the ship name like me until recently) content. I need to fix them and I need to make them happy.

I’m happy for it to be AU or canon divergent. I’m even happy to roleplay angst/hurt. I just need to have some happiness, comfort, fix it moments. To feed my soul.

I’m a semi lit writer who uses third person. I’m mostly on discord but I can roleplay on tumblr if people aren’t interested in moving. I’d prefer to play Essek but I can play Caleb if necessary. It can include nsfw themes but I prefer the bottom role (receiver, to put it crudely). But I’m open to anything, nsfw or sfw. I just want ma boys. The stinky wizard husbands. 😭

I'm open to a lot of ideas, I just love writing ♡ And rp is how I relax, it's a place I can let go in and explore various topics. I've been role-playing for 11 years, and I adore it! Stories can be spicy, dramatic, mysterious, slow burn...I love AU's that let me explore how characters might act or change depending on the environment and circumstances.

Roleplay is done in 3rd person POV past tense, it's my default and easier for a lot of people. I do not require "length matching", I have a degree in creative writing so if your response is done at 1 or 2 paragraphs that's great! My nerd ass will send 3-5 paragraphs bc I like ~details~ and ~setting the scene~

Reccer says: I'm StreetwiseFool on Ao3. I have ADORED this work for the years since it's latest update. I will adore it evermore. Please give it love, as I yearn for that final chapter. It takes the most fun concepts from the (not so great) film where derives its au plot and makes it SO heartrenchingly shadowgast and spectacular. There's whump, there's affection, all of the Nein are wonderfully done here. Plus I love how they adapted the film's worldbuilding to Exandria's and vice versa. My heart broke in the best way and you can't help but fervently wonder how it'll all play out as you read. I hope the author sees this and knows no matter finished or unfinished I'll love this work forever. I'm stoked for the chance to recommend it.

CR2 Ep 77: While tutoring Caleb, Essek is smug about his magical skill set being beyond Jester’s cleric abilities. He declines the offer from her to teach him some of her magic after she fails to learn his.

CR2 Ep 140: Essek’s magical skills are useless in the game of chance against resurrecting Molly. In the throws of sharing grief with his friends, a cleric Hail Mary shatters through their defeat and brings Molly back to life. Essek acknowledges the impression they’ve left on him.

If that ain’t poetic character growth and parallels idk what is.

Caleb shook. “I’ve led- they know... Trent knows about our connection. Dunamancy... I used it there, your spell.”

“The Echo? Caleb, that’s not…”

“No not that. I kind of reversed engineered…” Caleb made a crushing motion with his fist, and the realization clicked in Essek’s mind.

The scourger.

He had only cast that once in Caleb’s presence, but for him to be able to recreate it from memory was truly astounding. A pleasant rush flooded him, and Essek could not find it in himself to be upset Caleb had used the spell in incriminating circumstances. An unfamiliar heat curled low in his stomach, and he struggled with focusing on what Caleb was saying.

“They’ve been hunting us down, and they probably know about you. I want to keep you safe,” Caleb said, holding out an amulet.

“Thank you,” Essek said. He gingerly took the necklace from Caleb and fumbled with the clasp, fingers numb in the cold.

“Here.” Caleb stepped behind Essek. Rough hands clasped around his own as he grasped the loose ends of the necklace. A heat spread across the back of his neck, and the amulet was fastened in place. Fingers lightly trailed over the chain as it settled down in the fur lining of his collar. “They won’t… I won’t let them hunt you too. Not because of my mistakes.”

Essek turned to face Caleb. Reaching out, he grasped the side of Caleb’s face, thumb resting his eye. The haunted depths in Caleb’s eyes worried him, but Essek knew there was little he could do to ease the anguish.

“Thank you,” he said, resting his forehead against Caleb’s.

“Okay,” Beau’s grating voice cut through the haze, and they sprang apart. “Now is not the time for whatever the fuck you two are doing. We need move and come up with a plan.”

Essek flushed, knowing a dark blush would be visible high on his cheeks and the tips of his ears. He was not entirely certain how he let himself get carried away. He straightened his coat and cleared his throat.

“Right, shall we.”

What gives me hope for shadowgast is that Jester still hasn't shown any romantic interest in Caleb at all. So the chances of it not being Vaxmore all over again are a little better... but I agree with how you're feeling about it

dude... I. tbh in my head I had it like: Astrid is the second choice for Caleb and if THAT doesn't work out then Essek is a possibility and even then, best chance for mlm is like a SUGGESTION of post-campaign romance. (I'm sorry if I'm being extremely negative about this, I just like to prepare myself for worst case/ mediocre scenarios and all that.)

like that's the romance endgame I'd resigned myself to for Caleb, since I realized that he's been wingmaning for FJ so... like. he's stopped persuing jester (I hope). unless he pulls a googly and tries to gun for wj again. single jes is my favourite outcome rn (if only CR were brave enough to do beauyashter *sigh....) I still don't think shadowgast has much of a chance tbh I'm not gonna pit my hopes up only to be let down, I'd rather expect nothing and be content with getting nothing or gods forbid, being pleasantly surprised if shadowgast DOES end up happening somehow.
