Panel 1: Laudna drags a shaking hand across her mouth. 

Her Thoughts: ugh it's all turned to rot couldn't keep it down the first time either such a waste I've never seen its like since gods it hurts that big bastard broke my ribs when he kicked me

Laudna: Her and her wretched feast. She's just being petulant at being ignored. Probably not too pleased that I've been sp . . . spilling her little secrets as well. It doesn't matter. She can twist my innards all she likes, I am never going back to Whitest--

Panel 2: Perversely, Delilah obliges. Imogen (now using Mage Hand to hold her hair) rubs Laudna's back commiseratingly as she doubles over and continues to retch.

Imogen: That bitch.

Panel 3: When it's over, Laudna sits up and irritably pops her ribs back into place. Imogen fetches a towel and pours a cup of water from the ewer on the wash stand with Mage Hand so she doesn’t have to get up.

Laudna: I'm sorry. I'm such -- I'm such a nuisance. I'll clean it up.

Imogen: Don't worry about that. Nothin' a little Prestidigitation won't fix.

Panel 4: She delicately mops Laudna's face with the towel.

Imogen: Here.

Panel 5: Laudna takes the water floated over to her while Imogen discreetly directs her magic to clean the mess on the floor.

Imogen: Is this the first time somethin' like this has happened?

Laudna: Mn-n. She's been all “You'll never be rid of me, I made you everything that you are, raargh,” of late. Quite loudly, actually. I'm surprised you haven't heard her.

Panel 6: Imogen tucks her hair behind her ear, looking concerned.

Imogen: How long has this been goin' on?

Laudna: Oh . . . a week or so, I suppose. Ever since I decided that maybe we should give each other some space. She's been . . . sulky about it. Withholding her powers, and even mine. Bad dreams. And now (she gestures).

Imogen: Why didn't you say anything?

Laudna: I didn't -- I didn't want you to worry.

Her Thoughts: I didn't want you to know.

LIKE. look at his face. the sudden surprise as jester invades his space and proceeds to RUTHLESSLY unravel and acknowledge his pain after the traumatic events of the day, the way he's so carefully tucked away all emotions and tried to move on without worrying the group. look how quickly the layers all crumble away, how emotional and vulnerable and small he looks, how for a second we see Caleb Widogast without all his layers. if i had any power at all to do so i would give this man a thousand oscars and then ask for a milion dollars to compensate for the emotional damage he has wrought me

i do wonder if the rise in pseudoscience and conspiracy theories has anything to do with the whole "born too late to explore the earth born too soon to explore the galaxy" thing. like i think a lot of people crave discovery and adventure but all the easy stuff has already been found so they follow the nearest chump willing to convince them that all our current discoveries are lies and atlantis' ruins are just off the coast of florida. and bigfoot sucked my dick last week. trust us this time. we're the new scientists.

it fucking sucks that animals can get sick in so many of the same ways humans can but you cant explain it to them. you can't tell your cat their diagnosis and ask their thoughts on treatment. your dog may never understand the concept of medicine. you just need to hope they trust you and know you're trying to help them.

if you actually talk to sex workers in real life you realise they have a lot in common with literally any freelance profession. like obviously its a field that IS more ripe for explotation and abuse than something like a digital artist and i dont wanna erase that. but when i hear an escort lightheartedly roast clients that go silent when you mention payment or camgirls grumble about having to manage their social media when twitter sucks these days im like oh fuckin been there. we are all in the trenches in our own ways.

It is so annoying when people respond to "the queer community has an anti-masc problem" with "well society loves and praises masculinity!" Okay... yes... but that's not what we're talking about 😭 The queer community ≠ society as a whole. Also? The society that praises masculinity does NOT praise queer masculinity. Cishet society does not praise butches, masculine trans people, or anyone who is masc in a queer way. And unfortunately, many queer people have this same problem.
