I have to love Yanqing, I am a firm protector of his rights and wrongs. And I don't get why people dislike him. I can understand that not everyone likes him because not everyone likes everybody. But to dislike him for being rash, for being childish while he IS a child seems silly. He craves validation, he seeks improvement, he wants to fit his goals of what he considers good. Regardless that he is skilled, that he is a hard worker, regardless of it ALL. He is what a gifted child is. He struggles with his life and with his wants. Like many others. should he be shamed for things that kids do? He is well written and his style is well made. I hope we get more content of him because I want to see him grow. I want to see him make silly mistakes and then get help from his father. I want to see him work for his goals. I want to see his highs and lows. I want SO bad for him to get stronger and come to terms with his, lets be honest, self worth issues. AND ON TOP OF ALL THAT I WANT TO SEE HIM CARED FOR. For not just people around him but for him to feel skilled, to feel improved. Because when you get so much praise it starts to feel fake, and even your greatest works can seem foolish. To come to terms that you are THAT good is hard.

The aromantic part of me adores how the relationship between dragons and riders is portrayed as the closest and most loving bond possible while never being written as romantic because it means so much to see such sincere recognition of the value of platonic intimacy. And that part of me is constantly fighting with the monsterfucker part of me which is devasted that the dragons and riders never got to make out sloppy style.

Spocktober + Trektober Day 17 - Survival Training

I wanted to add the unedited version too because I actually quite like the scrappiness of it! Plus I find it funny that I've done 16 of these and somehow managed to switch the 'Spocktober' and 'Trektober' in the corners on the 17th and not like. the second. 😅

I realize how bad doom scrolling through constant bad news can be. I know it’s important to be aware of things going on in the world, but lately it's been doing me more harm than good. For the past week, I've been in a hopeless mood, thinking that things will keep getting worse and worse and worse.

But I still have to live on. I can't give up even if everything seems bleak. I want to live more happily and confidently, but I don’t know why I keep sabotaging myself like this.

But then, from over his heaving shoulders, white arms snake out from underneath his hair. The hair shifts, and, horrifying, seems to lift from godwyn's head. Glowing eyes and a pale face that peers out from behind godwyn's back. It's miquella, peeling himself away from where he had been clinging, revealing the red hair he had covered with his, the horns that he had disguised beneath a blue mantle, scales and sparks and at last what looks to be a single sickly butterfly.

Oh no it's grafting again, only Miquella's done it with all his dead demigod siblings that you've sent to the shadow realm
