Okay a short book review on:

I Kissed Alice

Most Girls Love novels I will catch myself having shivers on simple hand touches or eye contact and I knew that I feel the tension, but this book doesn't. It starts of as enemies and their interaction was pure hatred. The online thing going on between them, felt like nothing. No sweetness nor shivers I am looking for. Not even a sample of sext stuff wtf. Anyway, it feels weird tho that they suddenly want each other, after that hurtful fight.

I just don't feel any connection with the characters even their friendship seems shallow. The environment seems stressful as well, I don't feel like I am reading a romance novel instead, a competitive teenagers angst and toxic. Girl should help girls and i don't see that here. I know girls love the drama but when they fight, there is absolute tension on kissing each other rather than pulling their hair stuff. Some parts is skippable. I am much invested in Alice Cheshire's relationship than them Rhodes and Illiana they better be enemies really.

But I appreciate the Ingram's siblings, I love their interactions most in the story and thats it. Even the main loverteam I don't feel any kilig.

4/10, reading this book is meh. I feel like my imagination is better than this book... wait let me write that down... rate that 2/5.

More thoughts about that psychic connection.

I know I've talked about the "psychic connection" between Lydia and Betelgeuse before, but since I'm a sucker for such soulmate links between characters, I thought I'd write a little more.

It's all speculative, and that might have been just a fun line for Betelgeuse to say there, adding to how hopelessly in love the poor guy is with Lydia. But what if they do share a connection?

In this post I want to speculate a little about how this connection formed between them, and when, and what it may mean.

If there is such a connection between them, I think it formed after their wedding in the first movie. Hear me out, the ceremony was basically complete; they just needed to be pronounced husband and wife, when Barbara showed up with the sand worm. So I believe there was a soul link between them that was being formed that night, which remains, although half-formed, until this day.

This ritual would have made it possible for Betelgeuse to have free access to the world of the living, so whatever metaphysical mumbo jumbo was going on there, it was powerful enough to bridge the world of the living and the world of the dead for Betelgeuse to cross from the latter to the former in full power (assuming he'd keep his ghostly powers upon gaining access to the world of the living; he might just become a regular guy, who knows. Still, restoring his body so he can walk as a living man again must require a lot of power).

When the ritual was only a step away from being finalized, it just left that link between Betelgeuse and Lydia which he eventually realized he could use to watch her from afar and try to reconnect with her. Call it a residual of sorts that was left when they were almost married the first time.

It may have only been possible for that link to remain or even form in the first place due to Lydia's own ability to see and communicate with ghosts, though.

As a matter of fact, as I mentioned before (because we all know how I'm a sucker for all the soulmate stuff lol), it may even be Lydia keeping that link between them alive, or even making it possible for it to exist. I have this headcanon that subconsciously she keeps calling him and allowing his presence around her all the time. She may sense a bond with him that she's currently unable to consciously notice. Betelgeuse feels the same bond and openly embraces it; he's an ancient, powerful soul, so he can see how the two of them are just meant to be together. But yes, I already totally talked about this in the other post.

More headcanon stuff: At the end of the sequel, when Betelgeuse shows up in Lydia's bed (and possibly in her nightmare, too, unless they were sharing the same dream), that it might've been Lydia's subconscious calling him right back to her after she banished him. There's a part of her that never wanted him gone. We can see how her face looks conflicted right after she sent Betelgeuse away. We can also see how her face went from scared and disgusted, to confused and surprised while they danced during the wedding scene. Lydia's heart was no doubt swayed, but she's struggling to come to terms with it. (You can clearly see how she's thinking "what the heck it was for real? This guy really loves me??" I totally didn't notice that the first time I watched that scene).

Anyway I'll leave this one up to here, lest I start repeating my points from the previous post (which I'm already doing, oops lol).

My Tl;dr for this post: Their psychic connection might have formed right after the first wedding, due to it being almost finalized. A link was formed and remained between their souls. Lydia might be keeping that link alive and calling Betelgeuse right back to her, subconsciously.

florian's always struggled to make friends so he didn't really have any back in galar... uh, actually — it might be more accurate is that he USED to have one...

headcanon explanation + bonus under the cut!

like mentioned above, florian has always struggled a lot with making friends. while he's a kindhearted and friendly kid, he can come across as kinda intense to others, ( especially when discussing his interests, ) and that's led to him often being alienated amongst his peers. though he's grown used to being by himself and has learned to not care if others dislike him, he still hopes that he can find at least a few people to connect with outside of his family. it's a hope that's always been present, ever since he was growing up in wyndon.

of course, he wasn't the only loner amongst his childhood peers. around 7 years old, he found a friend in bede fee, who attended the same primary school as him. bede themself wasn't exactly the friendliest kid out there and often had spats with people who made fun of them for their family's low-income status, but florian managed to get them to warm up to him. the two got along pretty well and found comfort in having a friend that seemed to understand them, both being lonely kids who were often picked on by others. after a while, they became pretty much inseparable as they frequently played, read, and laughed together. to florian, it didn't matter that people picked on him just as long as he had bede there to be his friend. bede shared a similar sentiment... at least, at first he did.

admittedly, florian has a habit of resting on his laurels when it comes to things he doesn't have an interest in improving. ( it doesn't matter if he isn't as good of a battler as his sister, all he needs is to be strong enough to keep himself safe during field research. it doesn't matter if he's ostracized amongst his peers and looked down upon, he's alright as long as he has someone to call a friend. etc, etc. ) bede, however, couldn't keep themself from caring about their place in the pecking order. they were sick of others looking down on them, sick of others thinking they were better than them. they just couldn't understand how florian could stand people treating him poorly without getting angry. over time, frustration and resentment towards his attitude festered inside them. these feelings were only exacerbated by their struggles at home and being sent to the orphanage. while they would still call each other friends, their bond had definitely become strained.

everything came to a head when they were both 11 years old, when rose visited bede's orphanage and his acknowledgement caused a major shift in their personality. after all, someone that important seeing their potential surely meant that they better than their peers, right? they soon became much more pompous and rude in nature. florian still stayed close by despite bede's worsening attitude towards him, but it wasn't before long until all of their pent-up feelings came flooding out. their friendship ended with massive fight, with bede telling florian that they were sick of being weighed down by an " annoying pest " like him. while they expected for him to take their cruel remarks in stride like he always did with everyone else, bede couldn't help but feel a little guilty when florian ran off in tears. the two stopped talking after that fight and ever since then, there's always a worry in the back of florian's mind that his friends will eventually get sick of him like bede did. ( thankfully, the friends he's made since then have helped make him feel a lot more secure in their relationships. )

Work In Progress things for Dear My Dear!

Clearly, I did not have a lot of the deeper lore things planned. Still on the “Dear Brother” thing.

Also Sans capitalizes Wingdings’ name at some point, that is intentional! idk why I did that it just felt right. But I changed it-

Wingdings’ face was permanently blurred out because hes dead, but then I thought mmmm, it makes more sense for that not to be the case just because NOW Sans remembers everything clearly, he can finally picture his face. That must be frustrating not being able to do that……

Oh yeah and something I forgot to mention in the final post!!! Theres the star here, but I changed it to be the sun. Because hes supposedly apologizing to just Wingdings, but hes also apologizing to Papyrus (the sun). Hes so sorry to Wingdings, he wish he could have done things differently, but hes also so sorry to Papyrus for wanting things to have been done differently. Cause if that were the case- he never would have existed. THIS IS SUCH A TOUGH SITUATION TO BE IN I DO NOT ENVY THIS MAN 😭😭😭

Sans briefly writing in wingdings was another thing that just felt right but didn’t have a whole lot of meaning to it, this was the VERRRY first draft, I add a lot of the hidden meaning into the projects I make as I go tbh.

Them staying there and camping makes sense from a logical perspective- but symbolism wise, them leaving is pretty important because theyre MOVING ON literally doing the opposite of sleeping over and camping at their trauma 😭😭

Not a request but kissing Astarion on the tip of his nose is underrated. It’s completely non-sexual, sickly sweet affection. I can just imagine him blinking in surprise if you do it out of nowhere, a creature in absolute astonishment.

Just imagine you're sitting on the ground or in a bed or smth and he's laid back in your lap, head resting against you. You play with his hair and he looks up at you like you're the sun, warming his skin so tenderly. You lean down and he expects a kiss, even grinning just thinking about it. But then you kiss his nose and he blinks, then laughs, baffled. Probably (definitely) teases you for it, claiming you confused his nose for his lips or saying you missed. Even going so far as to pout for a proper kiss until you give it to him

But then after that he's very giddy about receiving them. Can't help but smile and chuckle a little each time, because it's just so cute and sweet and endearing

I'd love to hear more of your thoughts on Keeley's mum! I always wondered what she was like and why Roy didn't like her

So I think she's like a former pageant queen or model or something who got pregnant on accident in her early 20s, so she simultaneously resents Keeley for ~ruining her body/relationship (her dad ditched them immediately when he found out her mom wasn't going to get an abortion) and wants to live vicariously through her.

She has her in like dance and modeling gigs and stuff from the time she can walk and is always VERY particular about her weight, appearance, demeanor (it's extremely important that she's "ladylike" and never gets messy or talks back to photographers or anything like that) etc etc. She's just generally overbearing and manipulative and kind of expects Keeley to take care of her financially and emotionally in a way that's not developmentally appropriate

I think they were no-contact for a while after Keeley moved to London and sort of realized with distance and perspective that what her mom did was a form of emotional abuse even though she didn't like. Overtly scream at her or call her names or whatever, so she essentially tells her that she has to sort herself out if she wants to be in Keeley's life, and she can reach out again once she's in therapy and ready to apologize/respect Keeley's boundaries.

She eventually does, and they start to repair their relationship, but then her mom moves to London and it's like. Too much (some parent/child relationships are just better and with a little distance) so she's glad when she moves away again

As for Roy, I think he's just very protective and sort of one-strike-and-you're-out when it comes to hurting the people he loves, and he doesn't really get how complex it can be with an abusive parent so he just doesn't fuck with her period
