Hey guys!
I’m Currently working on a spreadsheet of books with fat main characters. I’ve added all of the fat positive books that I have personally read, plus quite a few from my tbr. I plan to keep researching and adding more but my scope is limited so I’ve also made a form for people to submit books to be added.
The goal of this list is to provide people with representation and to promote fat acceptance. That being said the books you submit don’t necessarily have to be positive rep. The only requirement is that the book is fictional and has an explicitly fat MC.
I have a section in the sheet that tells you whether the character loses weight before the end of the book and I might add a section for other content warnings if that ends up feeling necessary.
Hopefully this can turn into to a good resource for people!

You ever purposefully avoid picking up a book to read the next chapter because you KNOW it won’t just be “one more chapter”?
I’m not talking about “I need to sleep” type of “one more chapter”, but the “I need to get out of bed and adult” type.
Sigh.
But the book is so good. Decisions, decisions.

holly black is so cool because she named the first book of tfota as "the cruel PRINCE" which really encapsulates the immaturity of cardan at that point with his lack of understanding of mortals and such hence his mistreatment towards jude and taryn. she then goes on to title the second book "the wicked KING" which, to me, I feel shows a incredible amount of growth especially at the end where he exiles jude as a ploy to get her to pardon herself (which obviously does not go in his favour) causing jude to be the one to deem him wicked although later we find out otherwise. we then have the third book titled "the queen of nothing" which, in my opinion, is a subtle nod to the queen of mirth situation not so long ago but this time jude becomes the queen of all of the fae when all she really wanted in her life was to be able to live peacefully. her becoming the queen after all her hardships and now prevailing is really special and shows just how deep holly black thought to make jude such an icon.

I'm reading Twilight for the first time and honestly it kinda sucks.
To preface, I love the Twilight Saga. The movies are a guilty comfort of mine. I love the town of Forks and the mysticism of it all, but, I'm only on chapter 3 and within these first 53 pages it has me wondering why anyone wanted this to be a movie adaption.
First of all, the pacing is very rushed. Stephanie Meyer admits that she has a hard time taking things slow in her writing. Such as the way of a Mormon, slow burns aren't their forte.
Second of all, she commits one of the worst mortal sins of bad writing: introducing too many characters within the first chapter. Why why why are we 30 pages in and I already know everybody at this damn high school. Everything is moving SO FAST (foreshadowing of the swiftness of the vampires?! I think not!)
Third of all, and this is a personal one, but I'm just not a fan of Meyers writing. It's incredibly simple with little depth.
I'm still going to keep reading it, though, for she does a decent job with the atmosphere of Forks. Makes me reminiscence about my own rainy days in high school. And of course because I do love the Twilight Saga.

You ever just need to take a break from reading so you can feel that secondhand embarrassment for the character?
