#reading books

I only have 84 pages left in the Blood of Olympus. So that means i'm definitely going to finish the book series by next week. From September to the end of February. It took me five or six months to read it all. I used to read way faster, I think. Back before I had my phone, all I could do at school was read. Now I can make notes too. Also, i'm older now, so i take more time processing my books. As a kid, I probably could have knocked these five books all out with at least a few months to spare.

I guess it's both a positive and a negative that I read slower now. A Positive because I take more time and process the story better. But a Negative because reading slower means I have less room to read new books before school ends. So I don't really know how to feel here. sigh…

the constant not-so-inexplicable fear of losing my favorite media which is now online which can only be calmed if I have an offline downloaded or a physical copy of it. because sites can crash, streaming websites can remove or change their catalog, archives can get shut down and people can just delete their data from websites. and what will i be then without an archive of the media that defines me? is it just me?

Learn to write through reading

Apart from writing lots and often, there is no better way to improve your writing than through the act of reading.

Read a lot, and read widely. Learning from others is the best way to grow as a writer.
