🍎🥦🥑 Are you looking to optimize your health? 🌿🌞 The MTHFR gene mutation affects 30-50% of the population and can lead to a variety of health issues. 🧬🩸 By following a specialized diet, you can support your body's ability to process nutrients and reduce inflammation. 🍓🥩🥗 The MTHFR diet focuses on nutrient-dense whole foods, including leafy greens, berries, and grass-fed meats. 🌿🍠🥜 It also emphasizes avoiding processed foods, gluten, and dairy. 🚫 By eating this way, you can reduce your risk of chronic diseases and support your body's natural detoxification processes. 🧘♀️💆♂️ In addition to diet, lifestyle factors such as stress management and exercise can also support MTHFR gene function. 🏋️♀️🧘♂️🌅 By taking a holistic approach to your health, you can optimize your body's ability to process nutrients and reduce inflammation, leading to a happier and healthier life.1. Understanding the MTHFR Gene Mutation: What You Need to KnowGenetic testing has become increasingly popular in recent years, and one gene that has gained attention is the MTHFR gene. This gene provides instructions for making an enzyme that plays a role in processing folate, a B vitamin essential for many bodily functions. There are several variations of the MTHFR gene, and some people may inherit mutations that affect how well the enzyme functions. Having an MTHFR gene mutation may increase the risk of certain health conditions, such as heart disease, stroke, and pregnancy complications. However, not everyone with an MTHFR gene mutation will develop these conditions, and many people with the mutation never experience any health problems. If you have concerns about an MTHFR gene mutation, it's important to talk to a healthcare provider or genetic counselor. They can help you understand your risk and recommend appropriate testing or treatment. Treatment for an MTHFR gene mutation may involve taking supplements or making dietary changes to ensure adequate folate intake. It's also important to manage any other risk factors for the associated health conditions, such as high blood pressure or high cholesterol. Overall, understanding the MTHFR gene mutation can help you make informed decisions about your health and wellbeing. Remember, having an MTHFR gene mutation is not a diagnosis, but rather a piece of information that can help guide your healthcare decisions. With the right support and guidance, you can take steps to optimize your health and reduce your risk of associated conditions. 🧬💪2. The Role of Methylation in Your Health and WellnessMethylation is a process that occurs in every cell of your body. It plays a crucial role in maintaining your health and wellness. It helps regulate gene expression, which affects your risk of developing diseases. It supports detoxification by removing harmful substances from your body. It aids in the production of neurotransmitters, which affect your mood and cognitive function. However, methylation can be disrupted by various factors, such as poor diet, stress, and environmental toxins. This can lead to a variety of health issues, including cardiovascular disease, cancer, and neurological disorders. Fortunately, you can support methylation by consuming a diet rich in nutrients like folate, B vitamins, and choline. You can also reduce your exposure to toxins and manage stress through practices like meditation and exercise. It's important to note that methylation is a complex process, and individual variations can affect how your body responds to different factors. Genetic testing can help identify potential methylation issues and guide personalized interventions. Working with a healthcare practitioner can also help you optimize your methylation for improved health and wellness. Overall, understanding can empower you to make informed choices about your lifestyle and healthcare. 👍🏼3. How the MTHFR Diet Can Help You Optimize Your HealthBy following the MTHFR diet, you can optimize your health by reducing inflammation, improving energy levels, and supporting your body's natural detoxification processes. Eating a diet rich in leafy greens, cruciferous vegetables, and grass-fed meats can provide the necessary nutrients for optimal methylation. Supplementing with methylated B vitamins, such as methylfolate and methylcobalamin, can also support methylation and reduce the risk of chronic diseases. Additionally, avoiding processed foods, refined sugars, and alcohol can reduce inflammation and support a healthy gut microbiome. Limiting exposure to environmental toxins, such as pesticides and heavy metals, can also support your body's natural detoxification processes. Stress management techniques, such as meditation and yoga, can also support methylation and reduce the risk of chronic diseases. Overall, the MTHFR diet can help you optimize your health by providing the necessary nutrients for methylation, reducing inflammation, and supporting your body's natural detoxification processes. 🥦🥬🍖💊🚫🧘♀️4. I have always had a hard time maintaining my weight. I would easily gain weight and it felt virtually impossible to lose even a single pound. That all changed when I started following the carnivore diet in 2015 - while my energy levels increased, other issues such as joint pain and brain fog emerged. It was then that I discovered my MTHFR A1298C gene defect, which is related to methylation and detoxification problems. After further research, I began to take B-Vitamins as recommended by Dr. Elizabeth Grady, although she noted that this was not something that needed to be taken for life - just until my body balanced itself out again. Sure enough, after taking the vitamins for an extended period of time the scale started shifting downwards, inches were lost and the brain fog and oxalate dumping stopped! My health has been quite a journey but now it seems like the mystery is being resolved - thanks to the MTHFR gene defect being identified and appropriate treatment given it's now easier than ever before for me to reach a healthy balance both mentally and physically. #mthfrmutation #mthfr #mthfrexperts #biomeiq #health #healthy #guthealth #healthygut #wellness #mthfrgenemutation #mthfrawareness #mthfrliving #mthfrwarrior #mthfrmutation #mthfreating #mthfrsupport #mthfrc677t #mthfrdetox #mthfrhealing #mthfra1298c #mthfrgene #vitamind #vitamins #sunlight #immunesystem #immunology #dopamine #mood #hormones #bvitamins #enduranceathlete

At @planetfitness again doing my infrared light and I wanted to try to make it understood why people with #mthfr have such an awful time losing weight. When I got pregnant I gained a lot of weight and I could never really lose it. After years of trying and failing miserably I was almost ready to get gastric bypass. I thank God I didn't because considering the hard time I already have with vitamin absorption and my gut it would have been a physical nightmare if I did. Fat was accumulated very heavily in my abdomen and arms and I had such bad pain, inflammation, fatigue, digestive issues, kidney stones, constant infections, severe anxiety, depression, panic attacks. It felt like a losing battle. I definitely felt multiple times like it would be better to just let go then to continue. When you have MTHFR and your body gets, what I like to call, "triggered" it makes getting over the hurdles of weight-loss nearly impossible. In my case I was fed so much folic acid during my pregnancies it was ridiculous. I was getting sicker and sicker and bigger and bigger. After I had my kids my metabolism was so jacked that nothing conventional I tried helped. I gained weight and got more and more physically and mentally sick. I did not see any hope until I was diagnosed with MTHFR AND FOUND OUT HOW TO TREAT MY GENES INSTEAD OF THE SYMPTOMS OF MY DIRTY AS$ GENES! That's the thing all these pills, surgeries, false or incorrect diagnosis in most cases are not going to help. It's the bad genetics we have to treat not the symptoms of them. So maybe it's not your fault? Maybe you were just treating the wrong problems? #mthfr #dirtygenes #mthfrgenemutation #genetics #epigenetics #health #science #weightlossjourney #weightlosstransformation #weightlossmotivation #weightlossgoals #weightlossinspiration #motivation #gym #gymmotivation #detox #healthyeating #eatingclean #fitness #fitnesslife #fitnessmotivation #Anxiety #mindset #mindsetiseverything #trusttheprocess #weightlossblogger (at Planet Fitness) https://www.instagram.com/p/COvS0oXrU0Y/?igshid=e7v83ctqqkzq

Folic Acid – Why You Should Avoid it With an MTHFR Mutation
Consult your doctor before making any changes in your dietary intake related to folic acid. This article is for informational purposes only and not a substitute for medical advice.
Nowadays, many people have issues such as fatigue, irritability, brain fog, anxiety, insomnia and other aches and pains without an apparent cause. Some might think that genetic disorders are the obvious cause. There are many minor genetic differences that influence the way we look and can cause many health problems.
MTHFR stands for methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase. MTHFR is the enzyme that activates folic acid by adding a methyl group to it. MTHFR physicians say that if you have an MTHFR gene mutation then you should stop consuming folic acid and replace it with its active form, Methylfolate. Our bodies can’t process excess folic-acid and it is stored as toxins in our organs and tissues. MTHFR practitioners say that the human body needs to convert folic acid into a form of folate that the body can use. The human body, without the MTHFR enzyme, can’t convert folic acid into methylfolate and it builds up in the body as endogenous toxins. As a part of MTHFR gene mutation treatment, you should avoid consuming folic acid or the products that contain it and replace it with methylfolate. Do so only under the guidance of an MTHFR physician.
MTHFR doctors warn people with low activity of MTHFR enzyme that may it cause elevated homocysteine levels. Homocysteine is an amino acid that could be inflammatory. Homocysteine is directly related to cardiovascular disease.
Treatment for MTHFR includes avoiding sources of non-metabolized folic acid which may cause other health problems that might not develop for years. Replace folic acid with methylfolate. An increase in the level of folic acid may also decrease natural killer cell cytotoxicity and weaken the body from fighting arthritis, cancer and anti-malarial drugs.
In older people who have B12 deficiencies, folic acid can cause cognitive impairment and anemia but methylfolate will not. Folic acid has the capacity to fight against many cancers but it can also accelerate the growth of tumors that are already present in the body that is suffering from MTHFR deficiency. The degree to which the body doesn’t activate folic acid to methylfolate increases your susceptibility to allergic responses and can also cause blood clots, strokes, anxiety, depression, high blood pressure, migraines and more.
Many thyroid issues have been associated with having an MTHFR mutation problem as thyroid hormones must be activated within the nucleous of each cell and it depends on methylation for this activiation. As part of a treatment for MTHFR gene mutation, women with a positive MTHFR status should consult an MTHFR doctor during pregnancy. MTHFR practitioners and also encourage pregnant women to check their MTHFR mutations and suggest that they consume appropriate levels of methylfolate instead of folic acid.
Without knowing the genetics and exposure to toxins, it is better to follow the advice of MTHFR physicians and start the intake of activated folate instead of folic-acid. As a part of treatment for MTHFR, you should consume plenty of organic green leafy vegetables as they contain good quantity of folates. Eat more broccoli and spinach, and always shop organic. MTHFR gene mutation treatment also includes checking B complex and multi-vitamins to make sure the label says methylfolate and not folic acid.
For the naysayers who think this is all rubbish look at the prescribed drug for folic acid deficiency, Deplin’s active ingredient is L-Methylfolate and not folic-acid. The scientists know this is true so when supplement companies use folic acid it is because it is cheaper, not better.
MTHFR gene mutation treatment can help those with MTHFR mutation to reduce their risk of health problems. Find out if you have a mutation by ordering a home test kit now. For more details visit our website https://www.mthfrdoctors.com

M O N D A Y M O O D . #GetIt! 💪🏼🙌🏼👊🏼 Honesty hour: I have been eating sooooooo terribly for the past month. My body is in need of a #HARDRESET. I'm posting it here, because I'm certain I could use the extra #accountability. We all could! I use to have #willpowerBALLSofSTEEL, lol!...but NOT lately, and it's really starting to show! 😕😑😞 • I was recently diagnosed with having the #MTHFRgenemutation. YUP. Sounds like an #acronym for something else to me too. 💁🏼😠😜😉 #SorryNotSorry! Anyway, it runs in our family, I'm JUST learning more about it, but from what little I know so far, it is kind of a precursor to #bloodclots, strokes, heart attacks, etc.; I do not process #folate like a "normal" person. Yeah yeah I always knew I wasn't normal, lol! 😆 Certain things are more dangerous for women with the #mthfrgeneticmutation such as pregnancy and forms of birth control, etc. Well, I obviously have sooooo much more to learn, but I know I had two PERFECTLY #healthy pregnancies and two perfectly healthy beautiful children that God knew were needed on this earth. 💙💙 #withGodallthingsarepossible ❤️🙏🏼❤️ • I know I'm already doing a lot of the things they recommend to stay healthy living with #mthfr such as eating and drinking lots of greens (as found in my #faithfitnessfashion #ohmygoodnessgreenjuice 🌱🍋🌱🍋🌱), taking #detoxbaths #epsomsalt soaks, getting plenty of regular exercise, avoiding putting chemicals in and on my body such as face creams, lotions, and processed foods. But my diet has been slacking, and I want to not only look and feel healthy, but also live a long healthy life and be around a good long time for my boys! • I'm reading up on it, but if you are a #mthfrwarrior, I would love to hear more about the things you do and know to stay healthiest. I know one thing, I am #thankful for this great life I've been given, and there are FAR WORSE things! And now, I just need a good mutator name like wolverine or something! 😘 Have a happy, healthy day, fam! 💪🏼🙌🏼😘 Love & blessings! • • • • • #mthfrsupport #mthfrawareness #mthfrmutation #mthfrmama #mthfrliving #mthfrsurvivor #eatyourgreens #greenjuice #fffwholefoodsdetox #detox #alkalinebody

Methylfolate Dose Changes – The MTHFR Journey Over Time
We’ve talked about folate dosing strategies because the best dose of methyl folate for your body will change through the course of your MTHFR journey. The three strategies we have covered are:
Intuitive dosing – this is my favorite and is perfect if you and your body communicate well together. When you’re stressed, have a difficult day coming up, feeling not perfect, or know you’re doing some extra detox work, increase your dose slightly. If you’re feeling amazing and don’t need extra support, then don’t take it. Just listen to what your body needs at that moment (I do this with all my supplements, not just methylfolate).
Mixed dosing – this is better if you’re a routine kind of person. You like the stability of taking a small dose each day (smaller than your maximum tolerated dose) and you can add up to your maximum on days that are harder.
Pulsed dosing – this is the method championed by Ben Lynch. He says if you feel great, decrease your dose and if you feel poorly, increase.

😳Is folic acid in your supplements? ⚗Folic acid is the synthetic (fake) formula of folate that is man made and put into supplements because its cheap. 🧬Many people have genetic variances that prevent them from converting folic acid into the usable form. Have you checked your MTHFR gene? If you take folic acid and you are not able to convert it, like many of us, you have the potential of it contributing to cancer, among other things. "Excessive folic acid supplement intake may increase cancer cells’ ability to grow and spread" -Alina Petre, MS, RD (NL) ❓Do you have a MTHFR gene mutation? Over 40% of us do and most don't know it! 😳This means you are not able to use the folic acid that you are taking, and it may be building up to dangerous levels in your body. 🛌Build up of folic acid reduces NK cells and lowers the immune system. 👀Hidden B12 deficiencies are linked to consumption of folic acid. 🫁People experiencing symptoms like weakness, fatigue, difficulty concentrating, and shortness of breath may benefit from getting their B12 levels checked. 👆This could increase your risk of brain and permanent nervous system damage. 🩸High levels of homocysteine, from inadequate folic acid metabolism, can damage blood vessels and lead to blood clots 🧠Inadequate folate intake can contribute to megablastic anemia, abnormal cell growth, stroke, depression, dementia and cardiovascular disease. SUMMARY 🗣Folic acid is a synthetic form of vitamin B9. Your body does not convert it into active vitamin B9 very well, so unmetabolized folic acid may build up in your bloodstream. https://www.healthline.com/nutrition/folic-acid-vs-folate#folic-acid-risks https://www.healthline.com/nutrition/folic-acid-side-effects https://www.mayoclinic.org/drugs-supplements-folate/art-20364625 https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/326181#symptoms #mthfrgenemutation #mthfr #folicacid #cvd #heartdiseaseawareness #immunesystem #dna #dnaactivation #dnagenetics #cancersucks #healthiswealth https://www.instagram.com/p/CJloRGCsmjD/?igshid=4h9m68js75n5
