Whenever someone tries to make a point about something the Konoha kunoichis, I need to make a pause and remind them how out of character they were in some of those moments.

Kishimoto pretty much abandoned Sakura and Ino's friendship and then tried to bring it back during the War arc. Ino lost her sensei and then her dad, and when was Sakura? You mean to tell me she wouldn't care? About any of it? Or when Sasuke was declared to be killed, do you mean to tell me that Ino wouldn't have run to find Sakura?

The way Hinata was written on Shippuden???? Naruto aside, people forget that Hinata refused to give up during the Chunning Exams and forced Neji to almost kill her if he wanted the victory. She was stubborn, she was prideful too, she had more going on than simply a crush on Naruto. She was told by her father she was a failure and yet she didn't give up on becoming a kunoichi, did she?

Then why is that Shippuden wrote her like her sole ambition was Naruto, hm?

And Tenten? She was MEAN when she wanted to be because she was highly competitive. We know that she wanted to train under Tsunade, so where did the death of that dream take her? She's such a powerful kunoichi and yet we know so little about her personality, her life...

We got "Ino and Hinata know some medic min techniques" in the most random way possible... We know Sakura would walk around with Hinata even, so what about their girl bonding moments during the genin to Shippuden years?

It made me so angry whenever the girls treated each other like strangers in Shippuden. So many stupid situations made to highly their teammates even if I meant to write the girls out of character...

sasuke being painted as The possessive one of the relationship when that’s not shown in canon and people mostly use panels out of context (i saw “my one and only” or “i know your heart and you mine” being used to prove him being possessive which is ???) but somehow naruto that actually has moments he shows to be possessive are not counted. but like even without them, if you analyzed their relationship you would realize it does make the most sense for naruto to be like that unlike sasuke. because naruto has abandonment issues already with sasuke, sasuke did left him and cut him off once and left naruto really traumatized (even if it’s not sasuke’s fault, it’s still one of the biggest sources of naruto’s pain) so him being scared sasuke could leave him again and the urge to keep him makes complete sense. on the other hand, sasuke has never felt that loss, naruto has constantly chased and picked him over everyone including his own goals over and over. and his fears about love turning into grief if he lost naruto are quite literally shattered by naruto himself in vote2.

Hi ! I love your art and took inspiration from you to do the front page of my notebook for my theater lessons !

I unfortunately had to do it on the paper from the notebook directly instead of drawing paper so I'm a little disappointed with the results but I like what I did when I was figuring it out, on the drawing paper (and also on tracing paper for some reason ?)

Overall I'm so happy I could kind of replicate your technique for the light while using cheap wax pencils (stinginess wins 💪)

Anyway, thank you for posting your art it altered my brain chemistry 👍

on homelander and ryan

well first let me just say that the confrontation with bonnie and adam filled me with unspeakable dread. exploitation of inequitable power dynamics in the workplace at the expense of a female subordinate... yeah, surely that won't come up later! 😃 but i tried to ignore that context so i could enjoy them sipping sinisterly on their chocolate milkshakes which was very fun

anyway. i really enjoyed the homelander and ryan scenes in this episode because it finally felt like we were watching two people who had been living together for a few months... there was a real ease and familiarity to their interactions. (their scenes from eps 1-3 were a bit expository for my taste, i guess.) and i loved that there was no dramatic acknowledgement of homelander's breakdown in their last scene together (even though an apology would have been warranted on homelander's end) because sometimes that's just the way things go. their conspiratorial rapport during the bonnie and adam bit was also kind of adorable, sorry. homelander is being as corny as ever and ryan actually entertains it because he loves his lame dad!!!

i was so gratified seeing homelander ask ryan what he wants... everyone jumped on him for saying "i've given you everything that i ever wanted!" in 4.03 but if you were horrifically abused as a child and then had to care for a child of your own, ensuring said child has everything you longed for is a pretty important consideration (which extends to the freedom to make one's own choices, as we see here. we just needed to give him a minute he was literally working on it!)

the other element to asking ryan what he wants is that homelander doesn't know what to do with this newfound freedom either. yes, he did say at the onset of the season that his goal is to leave behind a world that is "pure" and "cleansed" (supe-led) for ryan, so that ryan never feels the need to bend to public opinion or corporate interests. but what does homelander want for himself now that he's free from the constraints of seeking public adoration??? he has no idea, so he gets his son to choose for him instead. and in a very real sense, "cleansing" the world for ryan is healing for him too, because they are one entity... i love codependence

that doesn't mean homelander doesn't put his own disturbing twist on ryan's wish to "help people". ryan's enjoyment admittedly felt pretty jarring but my take on it is that bonnie's immediate readiness to slap that director made him feel as if he was empowering someone. that's what he wants! while homelander is just glad that a human (it helps that it's the annoying guy who works for him) is experiencing pain. homelander is no longer motivated by winning anyone's approval either so there's even less overlap with ryan's genuine desire to save others. i imagine that this disconnect will come to a head soon... excited to see where things go next!

Gotta say S3 episode 1 really started off with a bang! They've got flashbacks, cosplays, comic cons, nods to other Bilibili hits. All those teases were worth the wait indeed!

But mostly I'm just yelling about all the questions/theories we've had over the previous two seasons that they somewhat gave more hints to, like what would happen if one were to overstay the given time limit in the past (i.e: would their soul be trapped in an eternal time loop damnation), and heck, even the most outlandish theory I had about Lu Guang obtaining the power of time leap through some ancient kung fu sorcery was given some actual legs to stand on?! I'm gasping.

But you know what else? They never did explain why Lu Guang suddenly had the power to time leap on his own without Xiaoshi, but instead added another layer to its mechanics: Imo, they hinted that all the power could have been Lu Guang's and Lu Guang's alone... which he was able to pass it on to Xiaoshi to use in S1 & S2 through the power of touch (which later became the high-fives we know and love). Either that or that power was taught to Xiaoshi later, but I have more serious doubts about that. Because Xiaoshi is still in the dark about way too many things, and Lu Guang only reveals things on a "need-to-know" basis, that theory is effectively canceled out.

Personally I'm really happy with the decision to introduce original human villains to the SCU.

I understand a lot of people don't like it when they deviate from game stuff, but the series is already infamous for having almost no reocurring villains besides Eggman. And this is more than just an adaptation, it's a proper pillar of the Sonic franchise that can tell it's own stories and introduce its own characters.

obviously i like certain aa cases over others but i feel like i have a generally neutral at worst opinion of all of them that it just sucks that certain cases get to be the fandom punching bag with supposedly no redeeming qualities or whatever (NOT TRUE) no fandom is immune to this for sure but god i really wish everyone a spoiler-free and fanon opinion-free playthrough of aa as possible

The use of they/them from all the agents for Valorants new agent makes me hopeful for a non binary character but really they're just probably keeping the gender vague for the reveal 😔
