(there is also a Pattern in that in my estimation lucanis frequently responds better to inviting humour than to earnest shows of concern -- it seems to help him be more engaged/online to be offered that more neutral space to meet you in and uh 'build' the conversation around something funny together than to be confronted with compassion head-on because that clearly mostly deer-in-the-headlights him, as we also see with some of the early flirt options haha. contrast this especially with bellara, who repeatedly gets genuinely upset if you try to make light of some pressing and painful situation she's dealing with (girl I'm so sorry I'm so jestercore and I canot change this but I'll try :'( for you). I think the times lucanis reacts negatively to the purple options are much more about you siding with other (frequently more charismatic lol) people against him or throwing him under the bus interpersonally -- like seeming to go along with illario's charm offensives, or telling teia lucanis didn't want to come help out with caterina's funeral and he'd just sit alone and brood about it if you didn't force him (???!!! hello??? unprovoked and deeply unkind out of left field???? this option is so fucking MEAN and for what fhdaskjfa you're telling me there's no way for rook to be a bit of a dick in this game?)

when it's one on one conversation he consistently seems to find it quite comforting, though... which makes a lot of sense because in many ways it's how he interacts with illario, just shorn of the resentments and hidden daggers and things they Do Not Talk About but really should beneath the levity that makes it sharp. it's gone ugly between them, but I think the affectionate instinct beneath is real and goes back a long way before all of that festered -- it's a form of play he does with people he loves. and uh. not really caterina huh. notably.)

ooooh so i touch on it a little bit in this answer right here, but as i said in that response, touya-nii would be quite jealous if natsuo entered into a steady and serious romantic/intimate relationship. natsuo is his little brother, and anyone or anything that threatens his position in natsuo’s life is automatically an enemy. he would never fully accept the partner, because as far as he’s concerned, no one will ever be good enough for his little brother (except for him, of course). touya would always be caustic towards them, constantly grilling them on matters related to natsuo and ‘evaluating’ their competence + care when it comes to his brother.

touya definitely wants power over natsuo’s partner as well, but it’s a different kind of power than that which he holds over his siblings—it’s harsh and cruel and cold, void of any sort of obsession or ‘compassion’ (for lack of a better word) at all. this is more to keep natsuo’s partner under touya’s heel at all times; to keep them in their proper place beneath him. that’s the only way it would work in some sense, but touya would never be happy about it and his consistent malice towards the partner could potentially be viewed as him actively trying to sabotage the relationship (though he would claim otherwise and say it’s all for natsuo’s best interests and benefit). moreover, natsuo’s partner would have to wholeheartedly accept touya’s role within natsuo’s life without criticism or complaint—which would be pretty damn difficult for any sane or mentally healthy person to do/handle!

reader would hate it. i’ve said this before, but reader and touya actually share a lot of the same traits—they just manifest differently and to different severities. but she’d be feeling considerably jealous, too!!! she’s so used to having natsuo’s attention on her and touya, and now this new person has just wedged themselves into the mix (unwanted and uninvited, as far as she’s concerned) and she Does Not like it. reader can be quite selfish and needy, too, just like her niichan.

So, what I really wanted to know is: was Ice sub-consciously fooling himself, when he thought that he’d be *totally* okay with Mav finding someone else to be with—a woman/another man—or would he really have given Mav his blessings to move-on with someone else, made it easy for him, and quietly walked out of his life?

Hey, look at me! I did it. I listened to a new-me-album. I don’t do that very often.

It took me 2.5 years to listen through all the mechs albums and feel like I have spent a good amount of time with each, feel content with them. Reach for them all equally as much (except maybe TtbT2, which is my favorite).

It has taken me 8 months to decide to listen to a second Jessica Law album. Not because I didn’t like Languid Little Lies, but because I absolutely adore it!

I’m just so happy and content to listen to the same stuff all the time that I don’t ever feel the desire to seek out new stuff. That goes for music, podcasts, tv, movies.

I feel a bit bad for not having more knowledge on the other projects mechs members have done and continue to do. I would like to love everyone’s work, it’s just gonna take me years to get through everything sufficiently. But also that means I don’t have to fucking worry if I do come to a point that I’m desperate for something new because there will be something to reach for.

And like, I didn’t like HNOC for quite a while. I continued to listen to it on occasion because I liked everything else I knew by them; didn’t understand why I didn’t have any enjoyment from it. I think it was mainly because I had almost zero knowledge of Arthurian legend. Had to read Gawain and the Green Knight in high school and listened to a retelling of the story where Merlin gets trapped in a cave forever by a lady on Myths and Legends (podcast); didn’t really care at all. Wanted to care (about Arthurian Legend) because I knew that a lot of Celtic myth got fucked up and put in there. So everytime I listened I’d end up reading more about Arthurian legend because I couldn’t remember who was who until finally I understood it well enough that I could actually enjoy everything smart about it and the music itself and trans Mordred and more and more. I didn’t have that issue with OUaTiS or UDaD or TBI because I had knowledge of European fairytales and Greek myth and enough about Norse myth already. Same reason I usually skip Drop Dead, the first song on my favorite mechs album. I just don’t care about it at all, in an ambivalent way. It doesn’t do anything for me. But I also have no experience with Crypt of the Necrodancer. But I listen to it on occasion because there’s nothing wrong with it and maybe this time will be the time it clicks.

I'm designing Riku's SEES battle outfit for the CATT AU and the actual reason for his coat being a longer version of the regular SEES battle coat is that I want to keep his silhouette similar to his Phantom Thief outfit (his thief outfit has a long leather jacket). However the in-lore reason is kinda funny to think about because there is literally no other reason for him wanting to extend the jacket length other than "I will look way cooler trust me". And somehow he gets the scientists who designed the suits to agree.
