i’ve been wondering, how would touya nii react to natsuo starting to really like a girl, possibly the way touya nii fell for reader? would there be any chance of him accepting her, would he want to have a hold on her as well, would reader be somehow okay with it all? i’m really curious on how that dynamic would work (if it did at all). but i don’t know if you’ve ever answered these questions, sorry if you did!

ooooh so i touch on it a little bit in this answer right here, but as i said in that response, touya-nii would be quite jealous if natsuo entered into a steady and serious romantic/intimate relationship. natsuo is his little brother, and anyone or anything that threatens his position in natsuo’s life is automatically an enemy. he would never fully accept the partner, because as far as he’s concerned, no one will ever be good enough for his little brother (except for him, of course). touya would always be caustic towards them, constantly grilling them on matters related to natsuo and ‘evaluating’ their competence + care when it comes to his brother.

touya definitely wants power over natsuo’s partner as well, but it’s a different kind of power than that which he holds over his siblings—it’s harsh and cruel and cold, void of any sort of obsession or ‘compassion’ (for lack of a better word) at all. this is more to keep natsuo’s partner under touya’s heel at all times; to keep them in their proper place beneath him. that’s the only way it would work in some sense, but touya would never be happy about it and his consistent malice towards the partner could potentially be viewed as him actively trying to sabotage the relationship (though he would claim otherwise and say it’s all for natsuo’s best interests and benefit). moreover, natsuo’s partner would have to wholeheartedly accept touya’s role within natsuo’s life without criticism or complaint—which would be pretty damn difficult for any sane or mentally healthy person to do/handle!

reader would hate it. i’ve said this before, but reader and touya actually share a lot of the same traits—they just manifest differently and to different severities. but she’d be feeling considerably jealous, too!!! she’s so used to having natsuo’s attention on her and touya, and now this new person has just wedged themselves into the mix (unwanted and uninvited, as far as she’s concerned) and she Does Not like it. reader can be quite selfish and needy, too, just like her niichan.

You know, the cookies of darkness is kinda like a cult. Cause most of them were taken in at their lowest of lows or had no other choice but to join. So here's what I think of em. (under the cut)

And I'll name most of em off.

Licorice Cookie: Dude was literally an outcast in every sense, it's assumed that his tribe literally fluffing DIED and that the magic he was good in (necromancy) is relatively frowned apon. He was an outcast, and likely starved of attention due to having no peers around him that he could really connect to beyond VERY surface level things, and Dark Enchantress probably took advantage on it, I could see him being given praise for his magic early on, but never getting any of that attention later. That very want for attention from one of the few who actually expressed any interest in his talents being the only reason he's still around.

Poison Mushroom Cookie: That's a child, probably an orphan, possibly alone because of their poisonous shroomies driving most away. Similar case to Licorice, the kiddo got attached to the ones around them and doesn't want to leave.

Red Velvet Cookie: He was born into this, came out the oven without an arm, and is (what I'm assuming) part cakehound, he was born an outcast, and likely has nowhere else to go. Red Velvet clearly cares about the cakehounds and soldiers more enough to keep him to stay. He has little other choice at this point.

Pomegranate Cookie: She was literally trained to be a high priestess to her village, and then learned that she was fated to effectively destroy it. I'm betting my right leg that she was probably DEVASTATED when she learned that, to learn that everything she has worked up to, she would betray. She trusted the mirrors vision over her own wants, and so she left to serve darkness, and (like Licorice Cookie) was given praise at what she done to her village, but that praise became less and less frequent over time. the combination of her having no other place to go, effectively destroying all allys she could have, the same starvation of praise, and her blind trust in Dark Enchantress Cookie leaving her unable to leave, not without a fight.

Dark Choco Cookie: I think this one was pretty simple. He was already pretty vulnerable and broken down on his own after losing everything to a sword he's stuck with. He got manipulated and brainwashed into thinking he had no other chance and that he was stuck forever. No lovebombing, no praise, just manipulation from somebody with a silver tongue. (His abandoning of the C.O.D. is something that could happen to any of the rest, but his already fragile connection made it a lot easier for him to break ties.)

Strawberry Crepe Cookie: A (possibly robot) child who thought they were abandoned by their kingdom(and which they sadly kinda were). They were alone with only robots to comfort them, do I even need to explain this?

Matcha Cookie: Like Red Velvet, but kinda worse. She was deemed a failure and had EVEN LESS TIME TO GROW OR DEVELOP BEFORE BEING THROWN INTO WORKING FOR THEM (At least, I'm guessing she didn't), plus she didn't have cakehounds to connect with, just her plants.

Butter Roll Cookie: Dude was kiddnapped. Need I say more?

Affogato Cookie: If he didn't join, he would probably be dead. Again, need I say more?

So far, I think this kinda matches up with a cult, but if anyone has a better definition for it, do tell in a reblog or comment.

That's about it, if any more of these guys come out, I'll update this.

All carrot, no stick.

I just started following you and I think your OCs relationship with age (dot) as well as actually having older OCs is really neat!

Thank you so much! Weird relationships to age is one of my favorite things to do (autism metaphor) + I like to have variety in my characters as much as possible, though I do find myself having personal trends... Also, with older characters you can put fit more events in their life before it starts to sound silly.

Xue Yang slinks out of the shadows like a nightmare made flesh ; a monster come back to welcomed company. He even has the accompanied accents of streaks of blood and freezing rain water clinging to him. Meng Yao Jin Guangyao is in the spotlight so often these days in dazzling golden robes. He can have the light for all Xue Yang cares ; Xue Yang will be the dagger hidden in the fold of clothing and sleeves, the beast to be sicced on enemies under oppressive darkness in the blackest night. Perhaps thankfully, tonight he brings back no organs or body parts as some morbid gesture of caring. ( It's hard to say with Xue Yang WHAT the exact reason is and he never tells, only offers a cheerful smile and playful teasing in stark contrast to the violence of his eyes. )

His body language is relaxed despite the blood and rain on him when he shifts towards the basin. Such is often the case; Xue Yang moves like a shark surrounded by minnows - confident and unbothered. Except his eyes. No matter how relaxed his shoulders are, his eyes track ever movement with a predator's instincts. Too many years on the street. Survival of the fittest, or something like that. The world slaughtered any goodness and kindness Xue Yang might have been ; it rummaged around the shattered pieces of a broken boy and built him into terrifying killer instead, all violence and cruelty and the thrill of the kill stitched into his soul. So it's only natural his crimson eyes watch Jin Guangyao with a guarded wariness under the playful spark and boyish smile.

" Huh? "

It's hard to catch Xue Yang by surprise. Even in his sleep he's coiled and ready to attack or defend himself at the slightest detection of a threat. Yet Jin Guangyao's words manage to do exactly that. Confident eyes waver subtly, a twitch at the corner of his lips when he sees the other approach with a warm rag. The muscles in his legs tense but he doesn't run - he LOATHES the idea of fleeing from anything. It's funny, really. Xue Yang laughs in the face of pain with his terrifyingly high pain tolerance and never backs down from a fight no matter the odds, but the subtlest of gentle gestures makes him want to flee. No matter how much he craves it.

Xue Yang sucks in a brief, sharp breath when he feels the warm cloth pressed to his cheek and wipe away at some of the blood that's dried against his skin. He's not surprised at how meticulous the other seems to be about it either considering that attitude seems to apply to EVERYTHING Jin Guangyao does. But Xue Yang doesn't quite know what to do in the face of the very kindness he seeks deep down. He knows how to bite, how to kill, how to torture, how to make people bleed and scream and cry. He DOESN'T know what to do with gentleness, with someone caring FOR him. Try as he might to figure out what game or scheme might benefit from this, Xue Yang comes up with nothing.

The slow, meticulous approach pays off. Xue Yang's shoulders slowly relax again and dark lashes flutter down so his eyes are half-lidded even as he washes the blood from his forearms and watches the water in the basin take a reddish hue. Fitting. He leaves a trail of red wherever he goes. Meng Yao knows this ; but they both do in a way, don't they? Xue Yang thinks Meng Yao finds some kind of relief in a shared ugly side even if he wants to pretend otherwise with his fancy robes and mannerisms. That's fine too. Who else would be insane enough to sit here helping Xue Yang wipe away blood? He's even been nice to use warm water! How nice. ( He doesn't quite know how to palate it. )

" A-Yao. " Xue Yang starts to say something and then thinks better. " Mm, never mind actually. "

For some reason, reading that IK wanted the pot of boiling water made my mind immediately go to her trying to use it as a weapon. Like, as soon as she realizes that it isn't exactly safe for consumption, she immediately tries to weaponize it.

Lucifer trying to stop IK from eating something because it's raw is so funny to me, because all things considered, she would be fully capable of eating things raw due to being a wild animal, even if she's from an entirely different universe.

Also, I don't remember if it's ever been mentioned anywhere, but does it ever rain in the Devildom? I feel like, due to how the rain from Rain World works, IK would probably get really freaked out when it starts to rain and immediately attempts to find shelter.

(On a completely different note, do you want to hear an attempt at a brief summary of the Rain World lore based on what I remember from when I last played, which, admittedly, is only the basic stuff, plus some heavily hinted but not outright said stuff from near the end of Saint's Campaign/the final dlc campaign?)

lucifer succeeds in teaching her that she cannot eat the scalding water, but now she has started attempting to build rudimentary slugcat-sized water cannons, and while he's impressed by the ingenuity, he is very concerned for his own safety (satan is applauding her the whole way like "showstopping, spectacular, incredible, never been done before")

it definitely does rain in the devildom!! there's a whole Thing about it in nightbringer s1. in my take on its ecosystem it doesn't typically rain naturally (evaporating water tends to dissipate up into higher layers of the realm), but when Funky Magic Stuff happens, then the weather can do all sorts of crazy things

ik would start out relatively calm (just another day at work) but rapidly gets uneasy when she can't seek shelter like she's used to. poor thing keeps racing around the house, huddling in some random gap shivering, then changing her mind and sprinting off to find somewhere safer... in the end their only solution is to bundle her up in a big blanket and take turns with slugpup-holding-duty

and of course!! it sounds super cool, i'd love to know more about it ^^

It is so so frustrating!!!!

It's like being at a restaurant and being served a bunch of delicious appetizers, but then one of the bread appetizers is literally just a plate of crumbs; and then when you're like, "Hey, uhh, why are we being served literal crumbs?", a bunch of the other folks eating at the restaurant are like,

"WELL HOW ABOUT YOU JUST DON'T EAT HERE THEN??!? YOU MUST NOT BE THAT HUNGRY, SO JUST FIND ANOTHER RESTAURANT AND DON'T EAT WITH US!!"

And maybe they say it politely, but "Aw, sorry, maybe this restaurant just isn't for you 💖" is just trading out an aggressive dismissive tone for a patronizing dismissive tone. It's the same message.

And it's like! I was honestly happy to move on from the crumbs once my complaint was acknowledged because the meal overall is still delicious, but then all these folks got SUPER WEIRD AND DEFENSIVE ABOUT IT, so now I find myself double-checking all the other dishes -- and, actually, you know what those eggs DO look a Iittle misogynistic undercooked!!!!

Concept: an upper limit to how much magic you can use to heal someone

Like how desperately chugging gallons of water in a span of minutes will kill you, how eating far too much food than you're used to can make you sick- in similarly extreme cases, casting too much magic to heal someone from serious injury can cause more problems than you're trying to fix.

Sudden onset of fever and chills, burns, after a certain point the body may just outright reject the magic being applied so that it has no affect.
