Drowned Maidens

The souls of those who have died at sea, particularly in shipwrecks, are occasionally returned to "life" as Drowned Maidens, who live on the shores of wrecking islands, hoping to cure the sadness in their own hearts with the warmth of another soul. When their efforts inevitably fail to sate their hunger for any kind of warmth, they unleash a horrific scream. Any soul has a chance of becoming one, but young people who had much waiting for them at the end of their journey are most likely to return as Maidens. Contrary to what the name implies, Maidens may be of any gender. Additionally, their "charm" is not necessarily romantic in nature. Maidens are desperate for warmth of any kind, be it joy, rage, or lust. They will play any angle they can to get an unassuming adventurer within reach of their grasping hair.

Made a monster that's somewhere between a siren and a banshee for one of my D&D campaigns, and I wanted to play around with how these girls would look in their illusory forms compared to their "true" forms.

I used the "drowned maiden" statblock from Kobold Press's Tome of Beasts as a base, but then changed it up and added a whole bunch of new abilities. :)

And yes, the more I think about it, the more the Maidens are just the crew of the Black Pearl.

He’s been good! My washing machine broke last week and I hauled it out the other day in preparation for the new one and he’s been loving his new Top Secret Hiding Spot.

We are taking a little bit of a Baldur’s Gate break right now just because I was getting burnt out. We’re slowly making our way through Mass Effect Andromeda for the second time. I’m very excited to get back to BG3 tho.

I left off right at the start of Act 2. I’m playing a Githyanki monk named Ez’rai and spent way too much time coming up with a backstory for them. I’m going to be romancing Wyll this time. I think Ez’rai growing up in such a harsh culture that didn’t have room for soft romance will go together in such a fun and cute way with Wyll. A noble’s son who is just so sweet and romantic and good.

So I got hit with a very strong burst of inspiration to start building Rook's childhood house. It's going very slowly, but it's a lot of fun!! I still have to clutter and properly decorate all of these rooms, plus add furniture to all the rest. And that means figuring out a floorplan as I go... (No I didn't make one in advance. Yes it will probably bite me later.)

Unfortunately, I seem to be incapable of using more than 1-2 colors when I decorate a house/room, so I apologize for all the green.

I've been meaning to draw this sweet good boy for almost a year now and SO happy I finally got to draw him ;w; This character, Mosstifer (Moss) is @extra-standard-deviation's creation for their DnD campaign and I was in love with him the moment I saw him <3

I used the screenshots as ref from their Final Fantasy XIV game where Moss is living his best life chilling with his (not) husbando in their sweet cottagecore home~ Thank you once again Kestrel for feeding me new updates and lore for your good boy!! I wish nothing but the best for him~
