Modern/Heartsteel Thresh and Diana HC
Where did this absurd/strange ship manifest?
Well, I was talking with a friend who felt there wasnât entirely anyone they could ship Yone with, and I voiced the same about Diana, though pointed out that Thresh would be cute to pair with Yone due to their spirit blossom skins. âLetâs just ship Diana and Yone then!â Was said not too long after that we also threw Thresh into the mix⊠Needless to say, it originated in the Spirit Blossom universe, but Iâve adapted both Thresh and Diana to Heartsteel and High Noon.
Goodness, Iâm so nervous to post this but fuck it. If anyone wants to bitch at me, you can kiss my ass XâD
Heartsteel Thresh Headcanons
Erlok is an ASMR RP/commentary channel that started a few years ago and quickly gained traction thanks to his voice. His channel name is The Warden where he refers to himself as Thresh and tends to refer to his viewers when not doing his roleplay content as âMy Precious Soulsâ.
The content that Erlok puts out has gained him the nickname of âMasterâ among his fans as his asmr roleplays tend to veer about yanderes. His content tends to be on the darker side, but despite this, he has countless fans flocking to him.
Erlok came up with the name of Thresh in a DND session he was a part of, heâs since sadly stopped hosting that campaign, but it did give him the idea of âwhat if I brought my ability to roleplay others into a video setting?â an idea that has entrapped many in his content.
Totally has a Patreon where he does NSFW ASMR content that he makes a killing from.
OLD MAN SQUINTS Literally cannot read for shit without his glasses, and even then, he hasnât updated his prescription in like 5 years? So, itâs gotten worse, and he still squints when heâs trying to read even with his eyeglasses on.
Erlok is a relatively slender man, and maybe has some muscle, but if he does it's lean muscle and doesnât show too much aside from some minor definition. And even then, he tends to hide his figure behind turtlenecks and coats.
Totally has an abnormally long tongue and at the very least sharp canines (Though sharp teeth be looking spicy). Heâs made quite a few past partners choke by shoving his tongue down their throat, apparently not something most people like.
Erlok was born and raised in Germany, he grew up not knowing English but taught himself it when he found there was a larger DND community of people who spoke English. He then further refined his English and his accent so that he could make an ASMR channel and not worry about being not understandable. Heâs not ashamed of his accent or anything, just knows he can reach a broad audience with English.
Has a more ârefinedâ or âsophisticatedâ style. Tends to wear turtlenecks, dress pants, button-ups, and the works.
Also, can see him wearing black eyeliners, maybe lipstick if heâs feeling fancy, but primarily black eyeliner and some concealer to hide the nasty ass bags he has under his eyes. Man, fr be looking like The Walking Dead without it.
Closeted Jew, no one can tell me otherwise haha. (Obviously, this means while he might practice things in the comfort of his home, he doesnât actively wear his kippa or follow traditions of wearing his Tefillin out and about on days that require it)
Heartsteel Diana Headcanons
Diana is a relatively new Vtuber who has quickly gained fame. Her content tends to be a bit all over the place, but she does focus more on singing and horror games. Her fans seem to enjoy her reactions to the jump scares and scary content.
Her channel name is The Lunar Goddess, though her fans tend to call her âMoon Momâ while she refers to her fans as âMoonbeamsâ. None of her fans know what she looks like or her real name, and she plans to keep it that way for a bit longer as she doesnât want to disappoint people with her appearance.
Other content that Diana does is skits, first-person shooters, and relaxing streams where she just hangs out with her chat. Her content is relatively pg-13 but there are times when her foul mouth does get it marked a higher rating.
Diana lives with her sister, Leona, and her sisterâs boyfriend, Pantheon. Leona tends to make appearances in her streams as a mod who watches the chat and can sometimes be heard reading the chat out to Diana when sheâs really focused on her game. This has gained Leona the nickname âAuntie Sunâ.
Was born with naturally white hair, it confused doctors because it at first started as a streak through her sable hair as a kid, but over the course of a few years, her entire head was turned white. At first, doctors thought it was Poliosis, but now they just donât know what caused her hair to go white.
Diana was born and raised in a very conservative Jewish household in Israel. Sheâs still Jewish, but not as religious as her mother and father are. She partakes in some of the traditions with Leona, but even then, sometimes misses out on some.
English is a language that came relatively easily to Diana, she also knows Yiddish as it was spoken by her great-grandmother (Even if most other Israelis consider it a dirty gutter language) Her accent isnât horribly thick, but it is noticeable and the first thing sheâs often asked by new viewers is âwhere do you come from?â
Diana tends to wear either jeans or long skirts that cover the knees, same for dresses, but for tops, sheâs fine with showing a bit of stomach and has no qualms about wearing tank tops.
Diana doesnât wear too much makeup, especially since she works behind a screen away from the view of others. On the days that she does go out, a light lipstick with some mascara and blush works fine for her.

Cheers from Newton Haven ( Mirrorâs Edge)
Hey everyone E here with a surprising amount original works. haha so you can blame my good friend @hains-mae for this because she enabled me. So long story short I love writing. I love creating ideas, story plots, characters all that jazz. Often there's a lot of leftovers that i put away in word document just so I have stuff to work with or ideas i can use later. Most of the time I might write something just to get it out of my system but it usually just ends up gathering dust in my computer.
I've been getting more into modern urban fantasy stories and watching the unsleeping city which is a modern dnd show (highly recommend it. first season's free on youtube over at the dimension 20 channel) and naturally I wanted to write some so here we go.
I don't know how often I'll be writing this because this accidentally became my side project whenever I need a break from the underground but who knows might turn into another big layered project.
so basic summary is there are a group of friends, associates, reluctant allies, organizations and frenemies who work together to keep the peace of the supernatural world in check and to ensure it remains secret to everyone else while living their lives as best as they can. Today's chapter includes Finnrick Drift a private investigator wizard and his best friend Casey Remington, cleric of the hearth
that's it for me. have a great week! stay safe, take care of each other. wear your mask, wash your hands, get the vaccine if you can and I'll see you soon!
and if you wanna an easier place to read and leave me some good old comments or reviews you find the chapter right here https://archiveofourown.org/works/30599756/chapters/75486005
Not gonna lie i promised Iâd try to promote myself more and itâs weird. it feels so weird. hahaÂ
It was a busy Friday afternoon in Midtown. People in designer named suits and dresses bustled across the sidewalks in all directions, too caught up in last minute phone calls or sudden late night work orders to notice anything else. The buildings that scraped the bottom of the sky were clean with a fresh coat of paint and maintenance, a testimony to the wealth and power that was found here.
So naturally Casey felt as out of place as fish out of water in his purple baseball jersey and black shorts just standing outside some fancy restaurants doors with his friend.
âFinnyâ Casey started awkwardly, his sea green eyes darting back and forth awkwardly âAny reason weâre out here being creepy? I got a Neighborhood Watch meeting at like 6.â
Finnrick or Finny as Casey referred to him, was no better dress than he was for the environment. A long black trench coat that was more stitching than fabric, a matching frayed faded fedora sitting comfortably on his head. He wore a nice collared dark red shirt tucked in a black vest but even that felt cheap and tacky compared to the thousands of dollars worth of clothing that passed them on the street every second. At least his black dress pants were dark enough to hide the patch up jobs and naturally the only kept squeaky clean were his loafers.
Finnrick sucked on the thin white stick for a moment before speaking up âIâm debating if itâs worth the trouble. I didnât realize you had a meeting tonight.â
âWell we always meet up on the fifth. You know talking about treaties, clean up jobs, if any undead hordes have been spotted. My birthday cake.â
âAh shitâ Finnrick rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly, his dark brown eyes apologetic âItâs your birthday? Did you want to go? I think I can handle it alone.â
Casey lifted the hat off Finnrickâs head and playfully ruffled his already messy black hair âYou getting old Finny. My birthday is the tenth.â
Finnrick waved off his assault âIâm six months younger than you.â
âButâ Casey gestured to the smattering of sliver streaks in Finnâs hair âYou look older.â
âAt least I donât look like Iâm 15. Dude you need a haircut. Everyone here thinks youâre a hippie.â
âA good looking hippie.â Casey gave a dramatic shake, his wavy dark brown hair flowing in the breeze.
The pair burst out laughing, doubling over trying to catch their breath as the business suits eyed them distastefully.
âAlright, letâs get this over with.â Finnrick made his way over, smiles and charm as they approached the doorman.
âYour cigarette sir.â The doorman spoke dully.
Finnrick pulled out the now finished lollipop âDonât smoke but done anyway.â
The doorman gestured to the nearby trashcan but Finnrick opt to tuck it away in coat pocket. Disgusted but professional, the doorman gave strained smile as he allowed them entry into the building.
Casey nudged Finnrick curiously âWizards? Warlocks? God not druids.â
âProbably. This is guy doesnât have an ounce of magic in him but I wouldnât doubt heâs got some casters on the payroll. Try not to leave anything behind.â
âIâm a freaking walking carpet here!â
âThatâ Finnrick grinned playfully âIs why you need haircut.â
Casey gave a fake snarl âShut up and call the elevator.â
Finnrick whistled, amused by the near silence of the opening doors âSuch fance. Barely a sound.â
âSo whatâs the plan?â
Finnrick scratched the little bush of hair he had on his chin thoughtfully âAsk some questions. Probably get no answers. Be threatened more than likely.
Casey cracked the tension in his neck âThink itâs gonna get ugly?â
âDepends on how many witnesses.â
The two made their way to the seventh floor, the elevator smoothly slowing to a stop before the doors opened with a ding. Two burly men in suits were waiting, flanked on either side as they gestured to an empty restaurant dining room.
âThe boss will like to speak to you.â
Finnrick and Casey shared a look.
âSure!â Finnrick beamed cheerfully, patting both the brutes arms as he passed âI was hoping to talk to him anyway.â
The men growled in annoyance but did nothing as Casey and Finnrick made their way to the center talk, unsurprised to find two glasses of wine waiting for them.
âAfter youâ Finnrick joked, pulling out Caseyâs chair for him.
Casey gave a mocking smile âSuch a gentleman.â
âOnly one I betâ Finnrick whispered before taking his seat.
Casey could hear the low hissing of whatever spells were on their chairs being dispelled.
Yep there was going to be trouble.
Casey eyed the room carefully in search for options: The room itself was pretty dark, dark reddish walls with dim lights to set the mood. Most of the tables had been left alone for whatever event this room was scheduled for later with the chairs stacked in the corner. A few feet to their left was the bar, unmanned but well stocked and a window to the outside nearby.
âWell, well, well!â A voice called out from some shadowy part of the room âWho do I have the pleasure of meeting this fine Friday afternoon?â
Finnrick rose to his feet, politely motioning to himself and Casey âMy name is Fredrick and this is my friend Charles.â
The manâs hazel eyes shone with suspicion âNo last names?â
âOf courseâ Finnrick grin âBut thereâs no need for friends, right? We are friends Robert?â
Robert paused, a barely contained rage shimmering just under the surface. His slicked back graying hair and tailored perfect dark blue suit were signs of a precise, irrational control. This was a man that was never told what to do and considered himself above everyone and anyone.
âOf course.â He answered a moment too late. He was not happy. âOf course. What are polite manners among friends?â
âThanks Bobby!â Finnrick gave a friendly wink before retaking his seat.
Robert fumed but followed Finnrickâs example as a trio of secret service wannabes took their spots across the room: Inhumanly beautiful men with dark suits and shades. Something was off about them but Casey couldnât put his finger on it.
âWhat do I owe the pleasure Freddy?â Robert sneered, hoping to see how Finnrick a taste of his own medicine.
âWell Bobby.â Finnrick went on, purposely ignoring the older manâs jab âAs you know you have been stealing countless money from your employees.â
Robert chuckled darkly âI am afraid wherever you have been getting this claim is very misinformed. I am a simple, honest businessman.â
Finnrick nodded in agreement âOf course. Of course. Thatâs how you can say that with a straight face. Honest businessman of mundane practices.â
Casey felt his hair on his arm stand on end as the atmosphere in the room tensed. The brutes growled unhappily, the trio of bodyguards shifted uneasily and Robertâs eyes shone with understanding.
âI see.â He spoke simply âYouâre from the other side.â
âNaturally.â Finnrick confirmed âNo need to peer around the bush, is there?â
âNo need at all. It is refreshing for such transparency. You donât get that often in the world of business.â
âI doubt you give much either Mister Walker.â
âEnough games. What are you doing here? Some kind of union rep for magical freaks? Blackmailing me?â
Finnrick sat up with pride âPrivate investigator. Building a case against you actually.â
Robert carefully studied both men before him, trying to piece together their plan, their angle.
âEither.â He spoke after a few moments âYou have all you need or more than likely you have nothing and you are simply here to smoke me out, hoping I will give you something to use against me.â
Casey felt Finnrickâs hand move underneath the table and a rush of chilly air brushed his leg.
Casey gave a quick nod to let Finn know he understood.
Finnrick cleared his throat âYouâre aware of the works of Tolkien Mister Walker?â
Robert was caught off guard âWhat?â
âElves.â Finnrick answered with a calming voice âElves are the most famous of his characters that arenât humans of course but thereâs more: Elves, dwarves...â
âHobâŠâ Robert began but Finnrick cut him off.
âThatâs a legal matter but yes. Wonderfully fantastic creatures.â
Robert narrowed his eyes âAnd?â
Finnrick leaned in close, smile mocking and cold âI hate when people take advantage of them.â
Robert was a cold, calculating heartless man who was used to being the smartest one in the room. The one who rigged the playing field in his favor, held every ace in his hand and led his prey exactly where he wanted them to be. He played with people before he destroyed their hope. He was the apex predator in the world of business.
It was satisfying to see that swagger and pride drain out of his face.
The businessman went for the button hidden underneath his side of the table, no doubt the switch to trigger the holding spells on Casey and Finnrickâs chairs. Of course Finnrick had dispelled them first chance he got and since the only other caster in the room was Casey, no one else noticed.
Robertâs face was the second most beautiful thing Casey had ever seen (first being Jaime but there was no need to tell her that). The panic, the fear, the utter confusion. Just poetic justice at its finest.
Finnrick shot to his feet with a surprising speed given his unremarkable build. He muttered the words of power, a magical incantation as his hand made the proper gestures to complete the spell.
The shades squad went for their weapons but Finnrick had gotten the drop on all of them. He pulled his hand back, a burning flame sitting peacefully in his palm. He pitched the flame forward, lobbing directly at the closet goon. The inhumanly beautiful man rose his arms to defend himself in time. The flame, mostly pressurized air, splashed over him harmlessly as the force of the attack shoved him back into the wall.
Casey followed Finnâs example. He stood as well (not as quick as his friend), a soft gentle light glowing from his hands. He glanced at the two remaining shades and aimed directly for them. A bolt of pure light burst forth from his palms. One goon got a chest full of holy energy and skidded backwards but the other was ready. He leapt to the side and narrowly avoided the attack as he slid out of sight.
The brutes charged towards the pair, murder in their eyes. Finnrick barely spared them a look as he snapped his finger. The two flames sigils he had imprinted om them when he grabbed their arms ignited, twin fires eating at their sleeves and sending them into a panic.
âWhatâs the plan?â Casey shouted, sending more holy bolts towards the shades.
âUp and over the counter.â Finnrick answered, tossing another fireball.
Casey quickly made his way closer, prepping to leap over the bar when Finnrick crashed into him, a strange whistling sound piercing his ears one moment then silent the next.
âOver buddy over!â Finnrick repeated, grabbing Casey by the collar and heaving him ontop of the counter. Casey flailed for a moment before glancing backwards. Finnrick was right behind him, hand outstretched as a blue translucent field of protective magic hung before the two while the shades opened fire with crossbows, the jet black bolts barely visible in the dimness of the room. They bounced harmlessly off the barrier but Casey could see the cracks starting to form.
Casey hopped over the bar gracelessly, struggling for a moment before clearing the jump. Finnrick tucked himself backwards, allowing himself to roll over the counter top and land on the other side with a thud.
âRemember when elves were honorable?â Casey huffed, quickly scanning the various bottles.
Finnrick scoffed âThey were never honorable. They just acted better than everyone.â
âRemember when we were kids?â
âVaguely. Pass the absinthe. I want to really make this hurt.â
âBlue bottle? These are all in German and Russian.â
âGreen liquid. Come on Case I taught you better.â
âRight. I miss when the cartoons used to tell us the mafia was honorable.â
âCriminals these days.â Finnrick shook his head disappointingly âJust donât make them like they used to. Itâs all corporate shit.â
Casey began picking other bottles at random, wrapping them tightly with the tape he brought âItâs disillusioning I tell you. How right is he?â
Finnrick smashed a pane of glass. He took the jagged edge and slowly inched it over the counter, catching sight of the trio of shades for a moment before a crossbow bolt shattered the glass.
He flexed his hand, trying to relax his muscles. They were elves alright. They might be dressed in suits and ears hidden by some sort of glamour illusion magic but old habits died hard. Elves habits never died given their long lives. The trio had fallen into a close knit triangle formation: one fires, one reloads with the last taking aim.
âHe had this whole operation locked tight. No one was talking. Either bribed them or made an example of them. Broken bones or horns. I had enough evidence to implicate him but bringing him to trial in the mundy court was going to be pointless.â
Casey moved the bottles back and forth to ensure they wouldnât come loose midair âSo what are we doing here?â
âGiven his limited knowledge and the numerous magical violations I counted in this building alone, I figured heâs not registered with the Council.â
Caseyâs eyes lit up in understanding âGotcha. How long we got?â
Finnrick shook his hand back and forth âIâd say 10 minutes knowing the Council. Magic in an unregistered area requires a subtler approach for them. â
Casey snorted âFake beards and stilts for the gnomes you mean? Robert will be gone by then.â
Finnrickâs face scrunched in concentration âHeâs still here. Cowering under the table. Heâs not used to dangerous wizards up in his face. Letâs scare him put huh?â
Casey spared his friend a glance âBig shot?â
Finnrick nodded in agreement âAim high Case.â
And with a synchronicity only achieved through years of friendship, the two stood up at once. Casey threw the makeshift bomb high into the air as Finnrick formed the magical shield once more. Arrow after arrow bounced harmlessly off its surface as the bottles sailed through the air. Finnrick focused directly in the center of the payload. The shield dropped but the elves had broken formation and were all reloading at once. Finnrick pinched his thumb and finger together, murmuring under his breath. A small spark of flame fluttered wildly on his finger. He flicked it as quickly as he could towards the bottles. The spark spun and twisted as it floated towards the payload. The spark expanded, growing in size, and intensity, rapidly without warning. The air warmed as the spark exploded, smashing the bottles and engulfing the alcohol within. Flaming liquid, glass and hot air shot out in every direction. The elves were blasted off their feet and crashed against the far wall with sickening series of crunches. The floor above now had a massive hole in it and the brutes sprawled across the floor. Robert himself was thrown onto the ground, ash and soot covering his face as he struggled to breath.
He tried to call for someone but his ears were ringing and everyone was down for the count. He tried to search for the trouble makers but the smoke that filled the room was too thick.
The elevator dinged open once more and three pale suits came scuttling out. They clung to the walls on all fours, unnatural and repulsive. Their blood red eyes shone in the dimly light room, their fangs barred and ready for blood.
âVampires!â Casey rubbed his eyes tiredly âThis fucker has vampires. Loose by the way.â
âRight?â Finnrick shook his head âThere are just so many regulations being violated right now.â
The vampires did not care. They dropped to the floor, gliding effortlessly midst the smoke and flame.
Casey took a step closer to the encroaching undead. He outstretched one hand towards them while the other clasped his necklace tightly. The vampires tilted their head quizzically at the symbol that adored the chain: It was a house of all things, a simple shape of rectangles and triangles no different than what a child would draw.
The vampires chuckled, their eyes bright with hunger.
Of course in their bloodlust they had forgotten something important: It was not the symbol but the faith behind it that was their bane.
Casey held the symbol as high as he could. The vampire shrunk away from him as his eyes blazed with holy energy, the symbol of home glowing with a harsh light. The vampires barred their fangs as a symphony of noises overwhelmed their senses: the soft hum of an air conditioner, footsteps thundering about, the chill of winter, the heat of summer, the overlapping sounds of cars and buses as the roar of crowds boomed in their ears. The city, the hearth of so many people, filled this room for a moment.
The vampires drew back, white smoking curling off their charring flaky skins. They ducked back into the elevator, hiding in whatever corner they could manage until the doors shut with a satisfying ding.
âCome onâ Finnrick gestured to the window âI donât want to be written up for unauthorized magic in an unregistered area.â
Casey and Finnrick scampered to the window. Caseyâs face turned a sickly green when he realized how high up they were.
âUgh I donât feel good.â his stomach churned queasily.
Finnrick broke the window with his elbow, the fresh smoggy air of the city bringing some color back into Caseyâs cheeks âI know buddy but itâs only eight floors up.â
âI hate you so much right now.â
âOkay cool jump now!â
Robert regained enough sense to see the troublemakers leap out the window without hesitation. He struggled to his feet when flickers of something began to form. Before he knew what was going on, the previously empty room was now filled with various creatures: Elves, dwarves, a gnome on silts had appeared out of thin air. They werenât dress in any ancient medieval garb but rather dark blue jackets, jeans and combat boots with the initials M.R.R.D stitched on their clothing. They were no different than any one on the street aside their more unique physical features.
âM.R.R.D!â the gnome cried out, brandishing a strange clockwork pistol âEveryone freeze! We sensed a magical disturbance and a violation of the Arcane Veil!â
Robert rose to his full height âI am Robert Walker and IâŠâ
The gnome opened fire and Robert could feel exhaustion overtake him. Sleepiness began to ebb at his resolve and before he could mutter another word, he closed his eyes. A dreamless sleep until he woke up in a council prison cell a few hours later.
-----
Casey didnât scream as he fell through the air. He was too busy trying to keep his lunch in his stomach.
Finnrick waited a moment to make sure everything was in place and with a wave of his hand, the two began to fall much slower. They landed on their feet as if they had taken a step off the sidewalk instead of several stories up.
Casey began hyperventilating, trying his best to get his stomach settled. Finnrick began fanning his face when a man walked up to him.
Casey and Finnrick said nothing, waiting for the Arcana Veil to fill in any blanks they were missing. They couldâve told this man anything but they found from experience that it was just easier to roll with whatever the magical blanket that separated the mundane world from the magical decided.
The man peered at them, his gaze unsure and confused.
âHey, you guys okay?â he asked helpfully.
Casey and Finnrick remained silent.
His eyes glazed over for a moment, a strange shimmering sheen within his pupils telling the duo that the veil was in effect.
âYou guys are oddly dressed for window washers.â the man chuckled.
Finnrick glanced back to find a ghostly image of an electrically operated scaffold behind them, water buckets and squeegees included.
They shared a look.
âWould you believe itâs national window washer day?â Casey filled in.
Finnrick added âYeah, they let us wear whatever want today. Itâs only one day out of the year anyway and most of the time we work by ourselves so no harm done.â
the man nodded like that was the most reasonable thing he had ever heard âRight sorry. Iâll just be on my way.â
Finnick and Casey ducked out of the alleyway behind him, heads low and nonchalant as the human M.R.R.D members began to shut down the restaurant from the outside.
âWell that sucked.â
âJust a little. Here letâs go some dinner on me.â
âDamn straight on you Finny. Brutes, elves, vampires?â
âOh my.â
âNow Iâm ordering extra bread for that.â

Community Headcanons
Just a random list of headcanons I have, organized by character (feat. A lot of Britta x Annie)
Jeff
I saw someone mention that Jeff might have an ED, and given what we see with his relationship with food, and how he is willing to go as far as to hurt himself to be the best at something (in this case be the best looking) it makes a lot of sense.
A lot of people headcanon Jeff as bi but honestly I just take him as cishet. He has many many issues but I donât think sexuality is one of them, because half his personality is his attraction to every woman that breathes lmao
Exudes top energy but really the minute someone else tops him, he gets insecure for a bit but ends up really liking it.
Britta
Raging bisexual. I feel like sheâs known for a long time, but never told the group because it would just be another thing for them to poke fun of about her.
In the same vein, I believe Brittaâs parents were very homophobic, and thatâs why she cut ties. I think she came out to them at a younger age and it was messy. It would make sense that she would refuse to tell the group why she didnât get along with her parents: because she wasnât ready to come out to the group yet. Instead it gets framed as her just rebelling for no reason.
We hear almost nothing about Brittaâs past, except for a few offhand comments about a dinosaur-related trauma. Britta is incredibly quick to deny talking about her past, which led me to believe that she has some kind of trauma. Personally, I believe she was r*ped in her childhood, which would explain her extra effort to comfort troy when he lied about it. It would also explain why she is so fervently for womenâs rights, especially when it has to do with bodily autonomy.
Dyslexic!Britta makes so much sense to me, because her parents were likely unsupportive, so she didnât get much help or accommodations in school at a young age. This probably led to her habit of going out of her way to do poorly in a class so it looks like sheâs just not trying, so she doesnât have to face the reality that she never developed good study habits and she would have a lot of trouble in school even if she tried. Even though she doesnât do well in school, sheâs really smart, sheâs just not great at articulating her points :))
She was a tomboy in elementary school before it was considered socially acceptable, and she was bullied ruthlessly for it. In her true, âstick it to the manâ fashion, she never grew out of it.
Britta is terrified of Annie finding out that she wonât do well in school even if she DOES try, because sheâs afraid Annie will lose respect for her.
Annie was the only one in the group she came out to, because she trusted her to keep a secret and not to judge. Annie asks her a LOT of questions, but Britta puts up with it.
Acts like a top, is really a bottom.
She has a crush on Annie from 21st century romanticism on, but never expresses it because she doesnât want to make Annie uncomfortable.
Troy
Gay lmao
I definitely feel like he had a crush on abed around end of season 3/ beginning of season 4, but it was unreciprocated.
Troy has an inherent sensitivity that makes him the heart of the show, but it took a while for him to feel comfortable with that. I feel like he had a lot of parental pressure to be perfectly straight and masculine, since he was raised under a strict religion.
Troy never wanted to be an athlete. I believe he wasnât allowed to explore his interests because he demonstrated talent for sports at a young age, and thatâs what he was pressured to do for the rest of his life.
Troy doesnât always understand how Abed functions, but he is always accepting, supportive and understanding. Instead of trying to understand how his brain works, he memorized the patterns of what bothers him and what doesnât, and uses that to help his friend in the best way he can. Itâs super sweet :))
Abed
Aro/ace Abed rights!! I havenât seen this one as much, but I really like it. I genuinely donât think abed has much interest in relationships, which has absolutely nothing to do with being neurodivergent. I think he feels pressure from the group to date, because thatâs what they think is ânormal.â
I LOVE Annie and Abedâs friendship but I definitely donât ship them. Sure, they kissed once, but she was attracted to Han Solo, not abed. Annie was attracted to dean when he was actually like Jeff too, but she DEFINITELY wasnât attracted to dean lmao. Instead, I think theyâre both really close because theyâre both neurodivergent, and Annie understands him more than anyone else in the group, albeit not entirely. They also have a special handshake you can see at the end of season one :)
This isnât a headcanon but itâs *technically* never stated in the show but Abed definitely has autism. l DO headcanon that Annie has his safe foods written down in a list because sheâs the only one who knows how to cook in the apartment, and she knows itâs important to him.
Abed has all of his friendsâ likes and dislikes memorized and written down, as well as their birthdays, as a result of psychoanalyzing them. He gives the best birthday gifts and never forgets.
Definitely was the ACB (creds to film theory on that one)
Shirley
I donât have a lot of theories for Shirley, because we see a lot of her personal story in canon. However, I do believe that she wasnât always such a devout Christian. I think she was raised with Christian ideals, but it wasnât central to her personality until Andre cheated on her. After she went though a dark period of (likely) alcoholism, I like to think thatâs when she turned to Christianity, and it gave her hope. She loves it so much because it genuinely did save her from a bad time in her life.
I think she is a big part of the reason why Troy, Abed, Britta, and Annie are afraid to come out to the group. They assume she would never see them in the same light, when truth be told, she would love them all the same. I think she would be uncomfortable at first, but either she would come to the realization or britta would convince her that it is inherently Christian to love everyone, no matter what. Her motherly instincts take precedence over her Christian ideals.
Shirley views Annie as the daughter she never had, but is very careful not to tell her for fear of hurting her feelings. She very much enjoys helping her navigate college and seeing her mature. She also loves all their girl talk since this is the aspect of parenting that she doesnât get with three boys. In the same vein, she loved teaching Britta how to have friends who are girls, and she likes to think she played a part in raising her.
Pierce
I donât like pierce enough to psychoanalyze him lmao
Annie (saddle up, this is gonna be long)
Lesbiannie, obviously. Annieâs romantic tendancies SCREAM compulsive heterosexuality. Annieâs relationships with men are always schoolgirl crushes, and she even admits to abed that she never really liked Jeff, she just liked the idea that he was available and willing to love her. It also makes sense that she canât stand the idea of not being perfect in every way, including heterosexual (because she confirms that her parents are bigoted and thatâs likely what she was taught). I think she would have a lot of internalized homophobia, and she would be very insecure about her sexuality, seeing how she acted during the STD fair.
I would love to think Annie also had her first ever real, I like this person for themselves and not just because theyâre attainable crush on Britta. She always looked up to her because she was so cool and far less uptight than she was, but as they grew closer, she saw her in a different light. I ship them hardcore lmao.
Annie has ADHD!! I could talk for hours about this, mostly because I have very similar struggles to Annieâs canon character arc (minus the drugs lmao) and itâs mostly due to my adhd. Long story short, she was likely raised undiagnosed until she discovered it herself, which led to trying adderall and overdoing it because she was unsupervised. She was likely very insecure about her ADHD, which led her to overcompensating academically. Because she masked so much in academic settings, itâs likely she didnât have much of a social life because thatâs where her symptoms presented themselves more.
In addition being friends with abed has made her far more comfortable unmasking. If you watch her in studies in modern movement you can see her stimming (flapping her hands, rocking back and forth and swinging her arms) way more than usual. She normally fidgets by fiddling with her fingers by her waist and pulling her elbows tight to her sides in a position suspiciously similar to raptor arms. Not only is this a common and discreet way to fidget, it is easily passed off as good posture. This makes sense, as it is Annieâs trademark resting position.
Annie reads YA books and a LOT of fanfiction for fun. The group expects her to be more well versed in classic literature, but the girl just loves her some vampires. Itâs where she learned a LOT of her....dnd tricks ;).
Top energy that Jeff never let her use DEFINITELY comes out with Britta.
She helps Britta study and teaches her all the study habits she had to learn, and Brittaâs grades improve a little bit!!
Switched to pantsuits because of britta, I like to think she had some influence on that.
Lost interest in Jeff after Basic Sandwich
Knew that Abed was the ACB the whole time, she definitely had it figured out in that binder lmao
Anyways enjoy, just figured Iâd write this down somewhere haha

IZ week 2020
so i wasnât gonna do this because I didnât think the prompts were very good for writing to, but I remembered the last dayâs prompt was ârole swapâ so I decided to do something small and quick for it. this is all 7 days in one post. the first and last ones are drabbles and one of them is an au idea
@invader-zim-weekâ here u go!!!
Day 1. Angst or FluffÂ
Zimâs denial skills are god tier, but even they have their limits.
Drabble. I think this is the turning point for my eventual found family au
âWhen are you going to get it through your thick head that the Tallests arenât coming?â Dib flings his arms out wide in his exasperation
âTheyâre justâŠ!â Zim fumbles a bit, clenching and unclenching his fists. âThe Armada is a million light years away! It takes time to travel that far, obviously. It took me six of your months to get here from Conventia and the Massive is further away from here now than that. Theyâll come! Youâll see! And then youâll be sorry!â Zimâs face is drawn tight. Heâs tense all over, shoulders drawn up to his jaw, antennae pressed flat to his head, and normally Dib prides himself on reading Zim like an open book, but heâs too far gone in his own annoyance to see the warning signs.
Itâs because he doesnât see these red flags that Dib proceeds to stick his own foot in his mouth with his next words. âMaybe if you werenât such an idiot and opened your eyes, youâd see the truthâthat they dumped you here to get rid of you.â
âYOU THINK I DONâT KNOW THAT?â Zim explodes, planting his tiny hands in Dibâs chest and shoving. The boy lands painfully on his ass. âIâm not stupid, Dib.â His name is spat like an insult. âI know they donât care about me! Why do you think I try so hard?â
Dib gapes at Zim, looking up at him for once, stunned into silence. âI.â He swallows. âYou know?â
âOf course, I know.â Zimâs voice is a low hiss and his eyes are narrowed to slits. âYou donât get banished and then just get over it. You donât get put on trial to defend your life, forced to relive your worse mistakes, and get sentenced to death, only to be saved by freak miracle, and never acknowledge it happened.â Zim takes a deep breath and crosses his arms over his chest. Dib supposes he means for it to look intimidating, but it looks more like heâs holding himself together. âIâve always known.â
âWhy do you try so hard then? If youâve always known there was no point?â Dib has to ask, has to know, has to hear the words from Zimâs own mouth.
Zim purses his lips and turns away. âThere was always a point.â He falls silent for a moment, one antenna twitching up a bit in thought. âI just⊠I thought if I was just a little better, if I accomplished something important for once, that⊠I donât know, that maybe Iâd.â He pauses and grits his teeth. âMaybe if I actually managed to take over this filthy planet Iâd be worth something for once.â
Day 2. Be Gay Do Crime (LGBTQA+ headcannons)
Dib is bi/pan/demi-ro, Gaz is lesbian, Zim is ace/demi-ro
Headcanons.
Dib seems like the kind of guy that would both take whatever kind of relationship he could get, but also appreciate it. Dib isnât afraid to work for what he wants and isnât afraid of things that are ânot normalâ so I see him being the type to not care about the gender of whoever he eventually decides to date. However, because Dibâs been burned in the past, he would need a deep and sincere emotional relationship to see someone as a potential romantic partner.
Gaz is just a big lesbian. Girls, man.
Zim is ace all the way baby!!! Heâs just not interested, and sure, part of that is me projecting, but it just feels right for Zim to just⊠not care. He has no interest and doesnât care for sexual attraction regardless of whether or not Irkens do/can/will have sex or not. On the other hand, Zim has expressed a softer side before and I can see him being able to maybe eventually develop romantic feelings for someone if he actually manages to get close enough to them for those kinds of feelings to even emerge. It would take a lot of time and a deep, meaningful friendship, but Zim has shown heâs capable of love. He just has to let himself feel it.
 Day 3. Fandom Appreciation
Found family fuck yeah
Headcanons.
Iâm still in the process of thinking about how I wanna go about my found family au so hereâs just some initial ideas
After ETF, Zim self isolates for a bit. The florpus hole was his Last Ditch Effort plan and had it succeeded, he knew he would have been destroyed too. He was okay with it. He had made peace with it. However, it failed, and now heâs forced to reflect on said failure
The Massive doesnât escape the florpus. Theyâre gone, completely. If they the ship does manage to get out, itâs not in one piece
I initially couldnât decide if The Trial should come Before ETF or After but I think im gonna say before so the Massive doesnât have to come back lmao
Before too long, Zim jumps back into the planning/scheming swing of things, but his ideas are never more than petty crimes and being a huge annoyance
Dib gets really annoyed with him and they have a big argument
Zim finally admits to knowing of his own Defectiveness
Dib reluctantly feels bad for him and backs off a bit to let Zim have his space
Zim, however, sees this as a betrayal and redoubles his efforts to get his attention
Somewhere along the way, Skoodge comes back and Zim backs off of Dib a bit, having someone else to focus attention on
Dib eventually begins to offer Zim his hand in friendship (phrased as a truce at first) and they finally make steps towards getting along
They realize they actually really like being friends
Zim eventually realizes that heâs made a life for himself, outside of the Empire
Eventually Zim, Skoodge, GIR, Minimoose, Dib, and Gaz form their own little family and explore space and hunt cryptids
(I love cryptid hunter and space exploration aus holy shit)
Day 4. If IZ had a different setting/time period
Cyberpunk??? Sure
Potential idea maybe.
Cyberpunk dystopian future
Aliens and humans intermingle, both on and off Earth
The Irken Empire has gotten bigger
Technology is advanced and cybernetics are widely known/produced
Idk man I donât know a lot about cyberpunk, maybe this should be more for the aesthetic
Day 5. Aesthetic
Big shrug man idk
Headcanons, thoughts.
Iâm a big fan of fashion Zim, and whenever I get the chance I give him clothes that are both cute and comfortable
Galaxy print leggings are a personal favorite of mine to give him
One time I wrote a little ficlet/oneshot where he wore a skirt. I should publish that some day
Uhhhhhh okay so. Dib has veeeeeery big early 2000s emo/punk vibes tbh
Scene kid GIR always makes me laugh
Gaz could pull off pastel goth like no oneâs business
Iâve been here long enough to witness emo/scene hair wig Zim and his eventual fall lmfao
Pretty much everyone that redesigned them back in the day gave Zim emo kid hair that fall perfectly over one eye it was WILD
Day 6. What if IZ was a different Genre?
Uhhhh does âfantasy instead of scifiâ count?
Potential idea maybe. (oops it ended up being a fantasy/modern magic au haha ooooops)
Instead of being an alien, I had the idea of, maybeeeeee Irkens are like. Elves maybe, or perhaps some kind of fae. (I donât know much about fae, oops)
Okay bear with me here, this is all coming together in real time.
The Irkens (which is what Iâm gonna call their clan or faction or subrace or whatever) still want to be the rulers or something over the humans/other mystical beings. This world of magic is hidden from humans and they live blissfully unaware. There are invaders all over the place, using magic and glamors to trick humans into thinking theyâre also humans. Zim is one such invader and just to happens to end up in Dibâs town, whereupon he enrolls in Dibâs school, pretending to be a transfer student.
I have no idea why or how the Irkens invade or what methods they use, but since my biggest experience with elves is through DND, Iâm going to say theyâre functionally similar to certain DND elf races.
So anyway, Zim ends up in Dibâs class and Zimâs glamor just Doesnât Work on Dib for whatever reason (maybe Dib passed his Wisdom saving throw while literally everyone else failed, idk) and so Dib can immediately see Zim for what he is.
Dib is still into paranormal type stuff, though in his world, heâs less about cryptids and aliens and more about the magical species/world(s) that he KNOWS exists. His big goal in his au is similar to canon in that he wants to expose it all for recognition and love from his father.
Zim, meanwhile, he just wants to prove himself, just like canon. I canât decide how I want the Irken hierarchy to go in this auâthatâs something to think about later, when I have more timeâbut whatever it is, Zim is either a) not very good at it, b) not suited for it, c) ridiculed for not fitting in to it, or d) a combination of any or all of these things. (or secret option e) he rejects it but has no where else to go. On the other hand, it maybe be none of these things.)
GIR is here too though heâs probably not a robot. Maybe heâs another kind of magical being, or, hell, maybe heâs just Zimâs little brother. Iâd be okay with that.
Gaz can also see through glamors but she just doesnât care. Tak shows up at some point to get revenge, and Skoodge also shows up at some point to stay with Zim and be his friend.
Zim is bad at blending in at first, but he eventually Does get better, since heâs not totally isolated from other Irkens here and he also doesnât Look like an alien.
(Iâm thinkinâ elves in this au look Mostly human but with a few differences. Since Iâm biased and this is MY fantasy world, damnit, elves are just. Really Pretty. Ethereal and elegant and graceful (for the most partâthere are always exceptions) and theyâre also great at magic. Maybe Zim isnât all that great at magic, I dunno. Iâll figure something out.)
This ended up being less of a genre change and more of a whole ass au, lol oops
Day 7. Role swap
Chanting: human zim au human zim au human zim au human zi
Drabble. This is for an ongoing species swap au that iâve had in development for the last few years. i havenât posted anything for it yet, but Iâve thought about it a lot
Dib freezes as Zim points the plastic water gun at his head. Zimâs eyes are narrowed, lips pursed, and he adjusts his grip almost nervously. Behind him, Gir is holding a bucket full of water balloons and a pair of neon green star shaped sunglasses. Itâd be cute if Dib wasnât aware of how painful Earth water is to his Irken skin.
Zim finally lowers his gun slightly. âI want some answers, alien.â He looks Dib over with critical eyes. âWho are you really, and why are you here?â He reaches back and Gir hands him a water balloon with a big smile. âAnd you better tell the truth or Iâll bust this over your big head.â
Dib grimaces and watches the balloon. âMy name Dib, and Iâm a scientist. Iâm an Irken, from Irk, and Iâm here to learn more about life on this planet.â He holds his hands up, hoping to placate the human gesture for surrender. âIâm not here to harm you or anyone else, promise.â
Zim huffs. âYeah right. I bet you just came here to laugh at the locals.â He puts on a mocking voice and waves the gun and balloon as he speaks. ââStupid, stinking humans. They canât even travel beyond their own moon, yet. What morons. I bet they descended from pigs with how horrible and stupid they are.ââ He jams the gun against Dibâs chest. âTell me Iâm wrong.â
Dib bites his lower lip and looks away. He canât deny he hasnât thought something similar since arriving on Earth, but Zim didnât have to be so crude and blunt about it.
The two are at a standoff for almost a minute before Zim blows out a long sigh and steps back. He turns to put the balloon back in the bucket, gives Gir a pat on the head, and shoots Dib one last glare. âStay away from me, Dib. I have enough problems to deal with without having to worry about whether or not itâs safe for my brother to go to school or if I need to watch my back while walking my dog.â
âI wouldnât hurt you,â Dib says, a little put out.
Zim scoffs and rolls his eyes. âYeah, Iâve heard that one before. I know better than to believe it.â He turns and tries to smile at Gir but it comes out a little twisted and sad. âCâmon Gir. Letâs go home and get Minimoose and take him to that dog park you like so much.â
Gir gasps and lets out a cheer. âCan we go get ice cream afterwards?â
Zim gives a little laugh, smile turning a bit more genuine. âYeah, sounds good.â
As they walk away Dib canât help but wonder why he ever thought Zim was an Irken himself.

Crimson Clover
Remember this little picture I did of my dnd boi Arcelm? Iâm a big sucker for werewolf and vampire aus (*sides eyes to the DA:I succuwolf!au haha) and recently I have some little story excerpts in my head which sets our usual Aesis dnd setting into a supernatural/modern high fantasy!au. And so I sat down and wrote something! Whoop whoop~enjoy! â„
It was his 21st birthday. He could do anything he wanted to do, right? So just for one day, he wanted to be a different man. Just for one day, he wanted to do things. Different things. Change his usual routine. He heard of the wild parties his friends had on their 21st birthday: Alcohol, Drugs, Sex - yeah that kind of stuff.Â
He changed his clothes, made himself presentable and snuck out of his room. Just for tonight. By dawn, he would return and no one would ever know that he finally - and rightfully - had the time of his life!
---
The bright neon signs of the various clubs were glowing in all kind of colours and the streets were full with people of various stages of drunkenness. Arcelm savoured all the different impressions of the night life of Ebrus City. Itâs not that his parents wouldnât let him party and go out with his friends, but - well - how shall he put it ⊠his mother had a very peculiar way of not letting him leave the house on certain nights. Nights like this one.Â
Arcelm loved his parents dearly, especially his mother, but sometimes he wished that she was more normal. In a more âdown to earthâ way. She had the habit of planning their life after a stupid calendar. With various moon cycles and even things like blood moons and eclipses. Arcelm looked up and wrinkled his nose. Heavy clouds were blocking the sky. He saw no stars and especially no full moon. Which apparently was today, at least according to his mother. Come to think of it, she was a bit nervous today and made extra sure that he took his medication on time and - oh shit! What time was it? He needed to take the last one before midnight! Arcelm searched his pockets but wasnât able to find the familiar little case he always carried around. He must had forgotten it in one of the trousers he tried on and decided to change them for a more skinnier pair of jeans before he snuck out. He sighed and rubbed his nose. It wasnât the end of the world if he forgot to take one. To be honest, it wasnât real medication to begin with. Just a ânatural supplementâ which his mother also took from time to time. This shouldnât ruin his plans for tonight! Heâll just have some fun for a couple of hours and then return a bit earlier than planned. Yeah, that should do it!
The most known and popular clubs already were too full and Arcelmâs cheerful mood slowly turned sour. With a bottle of alcopop in one hand and the other deep in the pocket of his jeans, he strolled down the street. There were some couples here and there and some of them were already kinda into it and as Arcelm caught himself staring a bit too long, he turned his heavy blushing face away. Maybe all of this wasnât the best idea after all. Maybe he should go home and bury his face deep into his pillow and drown in self-pity for five minutes. Maybe he -
âHey there handsome. Your face is way too pretty to be moping around. Iâm guessing youâre alone too? My group just ditched me so - wanna hang?â
Arcelm froze. In front of him stood a drop dead gorgeous woman. Red curly shoulder length hair, deep green eyes, a short black dress which highlighted all of her curvy female features perfectly, black high heels and her voice! Arcelm blinked a couple of times and gathered all the courage he could muster in his half tipsy state: âHi - hey! Wow, I mean, hey. Yeah sure - at least I think you are talking to me?â Arcelm quickly turned around to see if there was someone standing behind him. The woman giggled. âArenât you a cute and funny one? I must be so lucky tonight. Listen, Iâll show you the real deal. Those crowded clubs in the front? Only for losers. Come, follow me. Letâs have a good time tonight!â With that, she grabbed Arcelmâs hand and started walking towards the end of the main street. He looked down at their locked hands and felt a slight shiver running down his spine. Maybe he was just too nervous right now, but her hand felt so cold in his own. He cleared his throat : âMy nameâs Arcelm. Who do I spend the evening with?â The woman smiled and squeezed his hand. Then she took a turn right, leaving the busy main street. âItâs just around the corner. Youâll love it there.â Arcelm cleared his throat again: âO-okay. You got me curious you know. I mean, this is kinda like a mysterious adventure. You still didnât tell me your name.â She looked over her shoulder and winked: âYouâre curious indeed! And I want to stay mysterious for a bit longer. Itâs fun!â He chuckled and tried to reply, hiding his rising insecurity: âIf you say so!â
Arcelm looked around. While the main street was bright and flashy, this alley certainly had his own charme. He heard the dulled music coming from a few buildings. Mostly heavy metal music mixed with some heavy beats here and there. The woman lead him to a building with red wooden doors. There was no sign with a name above it. At least Arcelm didnât find one. The man in the front, probably a security guy, just nodded towards Arcelmâs new acquaintance and opened the door. Without hesitation, she pulled Arcelm through and as the doors were closed behind them, it got dark. Really dark. The woman chuckled: âYou have an unique name you know. You shouldnât give it away so freely like that.â She pulled him closer to her and Arcelm could feel her breath on his neck and her knee between his thighs. âI promise you, this will be a night youâll never forget, Arcelm.â And with that, she opened another door in front of them and suddenly the quietness of the small and dark entry room was replaced by loud music and Arcelm felt his body starting to vibrate to the deep bass in the huge dancing room. A sweet and metallic smell filled his lungs and without even noticing, his body started to move on its own. He looked into the green eyes of his new acquaintance and he suddenly felt so free, careless even. She smiled and they started dancing. He didnât even know he could dance like that. She put his hands on her hips, encouraging him to explore. He felt her hands doing the same. And after a while, there was another pair of hands and a new face. And then another. Everything started to feel like a blur. Arcelm heard her voice calling his name over and over again. And he followed her through the dancing crowd. He saw her green eyes in front of him. Her beautiful face smiling and everything around him didnât matter anymore. Because everything was just her.Â
He wasnât sure how much time had past since he entered the club. He wasnât even sure how many people he had danced with. But he was pretty sure the pain he was feeling right now, was coming from his right arm. Arcelm blinked a couple of times and tried to focus. Where was he? This wasnât the dance room from before. This room was so bright and it smelled heavily like disinfectant. And why was he lying on his back? Arcelm felt like he was hit by a truck. Slowly he tried to stand up and get on his feet but felt a yank at his right wrist. âWhat the fuckâŠ?â He looked down and saw that he was handcuffed to the surface he was lying on. With his free hand, he pulled up his sleeve to look for the source of the pain he felt in his right harm but everything seemed fine by the look of it. He moved his legs and was relieved that they werenât cuffed either. He took a deep breath and sat up. No need to panic. There was a perfect - maybe not reasonable - but at least a reason, for him being in this ⊠laboratory? He let his eyes wander and shuddered a bit. Surgical equipment, test tubes, white tiles as far as the eye could see and ... a crimson red blood trail leading out of the room. Arcelm felt a sudden pain in his chest. He tried to avert his gaze from the strains on the floor but something compelled him to look. To suck in the air which smelled so sweet. He started to sweat heavily and also started to hear whispers, voices - so many of them:Â
Why did you bring him? Look what you did! I didn'tât know! How should I know? Iâm sorry, Iâm so sorry! Run, we have to run! Itâs not too late! He can be killed! We must hurry! He has no power! Donât be stupid or do you want to end like Allen?
âNo, NO - I donât want to die!â Arcelm started to drag on the handcuff. His right arm already felt sore from the pain, but he pulled with all the strength his body could muster in his moment. He didnât want to die. He still was so young. Still had so much to see, so much to feed on. With a last tug, he broke the chain on the handcuff and got up. His feet didnât touch ground though but something different. Something soft. Arcelm looked down and froze in shock. He stood in a pool of blood and shreds of something that cleary was human once. The pain in his chest returned and it was so much harder this time. Arcelm wanted to grab the table he was lying on not long ago for support but stumbled and fell backwards, knocking over some of the tables and racks in his way.
The next following moments happened in a flash. After hearing the loud noise in the room, the door opened and a couple of people entered the lab. Arcelm got on his feet and tried to run away. Someone grabbed him by the arm, but he managed to shake them off. One just backed down and let him run, but another one tackled him to the ground. Arcelm screamed for help while trying to get the hands of his attacker off him. âLet me go you sick fuck!â The man sitting on him started yelling: âDonât just stand there! Help me you fucking coward or else we canât finish him off!â Arcelms eyes widened in shock. No, no!
I donât want to die. Please no! Someone please help me ...
You donât need help. They are weak. You are superior. They donât deserve the blood.
The blood? The blood ⊠is mine. All is mine.Â
---
This was certainly not what he expected from his 21th birthday. Arcelm opened his eyes and closed them again in an instant. His head hurt so much. He just wanted to have some fun. Did he overdo it yesterday? He tried to remember, but everything was black. He frowned. Why did his room smell like sandalwood and lilies? And was that a velvet bed sheet he was lying on? He made another effort to open his eyes and blinked a couple of times. He groaned.
âSo, you finally decided to return to the living?â
Arcelm sat up in a jolt and instantly regretted his sudden movement. Slowly he moved his head to the direction where the unknown deep male voice came from. The room was dimly lit so he had to squint his eyes a bit to find out who was talking to him. The man closed the book in his hands, put it on a side table and got up from the armchair he was sitting on. He was tall, 5â9 or maybe even 6â, slender and his movement was smooth and elegant. He opened the curtains a bit more before heading towards the bed.Â
Arcelm blinked a bit and ⊠blushed. He had never seen a more beautiful and graceful man in his life before. His skin was like polished obsidian and his long thick white hair perfectly underlined his aristocratic face, his long nose, the curved brows and the full lips. But the most striking feature for Arcelm were his lilac eyes. Arcelm caught himself staring and his heart started to pound.
âCat caught your tongue? Iâm no healer, but I think I patched you up quite nicely. Do you remember what happened last night?â The stranger sat down on the bed, right next to Arcelm. Without knowing, Arcelm took a deep breath and his face got even redder. The man chuckled. âOkay. Letâs start slowly. My name is Veldarin. Right now, you are lying in my bed in a house near the marketplace of Ebrus. I found you just around the corner of my shop, covered in blood.â With that, all the color of Arcelmâs face faded away and the man put up a hand in defence. âListen, I - I wonât judge. I just had the feeling that you needed the help and I must admit that I am intrigued. In a certain way. So, you donât need to be afraid. I wonât call the police if you donât want to. Would you be willing to share your name and story with me?â
Arcelm fumbled with the velvet blanket and was silent for a couple of minutes, trying to get his thoughts together. What ⊠did happen though? He wet his lips before he started to speak: âI think I did something stupid. At least it wasnât stupid in the beginning. I wanted to celebrate my birthday. You know, have some fun on the 21st one?â Veldarin nodded in agreement. âHappy belated birthday then.â Arcelm smiled for a second. âThank you, uhm, anyway, I wasnât allowed to leave the house and so I sneaked away from home and went down to Ebrus City, to the clubs - but I wasnât able to enter the regular ones. A woman approached me, red hair, black clothes. She took me with her to a club she knew. Some metal club, I canât remember anymore. We had some fun but then ⊠everythingâs a blur.â Arcelm bit on his lip. And frowned. âI remember a white room. And blood. So much blood.â He started to tremble. âI-I remember being afraid. I ran and something happened. But I canât remember. I-Iâm sorry, I canât remember!â Arcelm didnât remember the last time he cried in front of another person but right now, he couldn't stop the tears from forming in his eyes. He quickly wiped them away and looked down on his hands. The nails on his right hand were so much longer than those on his left. And since when could he literally see his blood pulsating in his veins? âMy mother always made me take some kind of natural supplement. I always thought that they were just some fake vitamins, but I didnât take them yesterday. And look what happened.âÂ
Big blue eyes met lilac ones and Veldarin crossed his arms in front of his chest, raising an eyebrow. âIâm sorry but I think I didnât catch your name âŠ?â Arcelm blinked a couple of times and looked down apologetically. âWhere are my manners. My nameâs Arcelm. My full name is kinda long but itâs Arcelm Aseir Emys von Irnamil. Thank you for helping me. Iâm sure my family will be able to-â Arcelm couldnât finish his sentence because Veldarin suddenly grabbed him by his shoulders and shook him slightly. âY o u are Arcelm? That explains everything! I had my assumptions but I wasnât sure.â Veldarinâs gaze suddenly changed from relieved to concerned and he let his hands slide down from the shoulders to the hands and took them into his. Arcelm started to blush again and shivered a bit. He felt goosebumps raising on his skin. âBut at the same time, you were really careless. Do you even know how much time and energy your mother spends to keep you safe?â Veldarin sighed. âYou-you know my mother?â The white haired man nodded and squeezed Arcelmâs hands before letting them go. He stood up again and went to one of the drawers in the far corner of the room. Arcelm already missed the warmth of the older manâs hands and watched him opening the top drawer, cleary looking for something.
The world was a small place though. Who would have thought that someone his mother knew would help him out in the first place? The young man was getting curious now. She never told him about a man like Veldarin. How did she got to know him? Arcelm wriggled his toes. He occupied the bed long enough! It was time to stand up. He looked around the room again. Where were his clothes though? He slid to the edge of the bed and wrapped the blanket around his waist. A blush creeped into his cheeks again as he stood there. Next to him the king sized bed of an older man. This was certainly not the time to question his sexual interests but he always thought that he liked ... women. But then again, he never met someone like Veldarin in his life before. Arcelm sighed. This was uncalled for. He didnât have the right to think about his savior like that. And this meeting properly was the last one anyway...Â
Arcelm stretched his arms and legs before walking up to Veldarin. âI donât want to sound rude, but do you know where my clothes are? I think I should head home now. Although I would love to avoid my punishment but itâs not my first time to be grounded for a longer time.â Veldarin finally closed the drawer with a quiet sound of accomplishment and turned around to face the young man. With a smile, he took Arcelmâs hand in his again and placed two red pills in it. âThe agent in these two pills should suffice for the week. And donât worry. I already contacted Taliyah. Sheâs furious but I think the feeling of relieve will be far greater than her anger.â The white haired man walked to the side table at the window and poured some water into a glas.Â
âIâm sorry for asking, but these look exactly like the pills I take at home and ... how could you get in contact with my mother while being in the same room with me the whole time?â Veldarin smiled and handed the glass of water over to Arcelm who simply nodded in thanks and took the pills without further hesitation.
âThere are many hidden things in this world which a normal human being doesnât need to know. And usually itâs safer if they remain hidden. But you - you are not a normal human being. At least, not anymore. Thanks to your recklessness.â Arcelm slightly crooked his head to his side and Veldarin chuckled. Then the older man tipped on his temple with a finger and smiled. âWelcome to the fantastic world of magic.â And with that, a slight breeze went through the room and Veldarinâs features slightly changed. He kept his general appearance but he wasnât human anymore. Arcelm rubbed his eyes. In front of him now, stood ⊠a smiling drow.
#fey dnds#arcelm#fey writes#yeeeah I knooow#I'm not a huge writing potato but sometimes even I get the tingly fingers and instead of drawing I try to slap some words down#getting them to make sense and stuff xD#I just love the idea of two worlds like#existing in the same time but not the same plane#and the general idea of vampire and werewolf clans#and other magical creatures#â„#damn that's my jam

2! 6! 10! 13-14; 24; 44-45; and 49!! Please do whatever amount you are comfortable with - but I'm glad you've decided to receive questions from this numbered post too!
Man you just went absolutely nuts with this one, huh Nice.
THIS GOT LONG; Iâm gonna try to put it under a cut but you know how Tumblr.Hell has been to me, lately. Maybe itâs in protest about all the horny content Iâve been writing.
Things that motivate you.
Iâm always super stoked when I read something really good, or see an interesting scene in a film or show! Whenever I see or hear an idea that goes âwow, thatâs such a fresh and intense element of horrorâ, I get a really strong urge to work. Sometimes itâs enough to make me throw all priority out the window as I struggle to capture an idea before it gets away from me, which is why yâall still havenât seen that god damn Narancia fic. Iâm working on it, I swear.
It goes without saying, but knowing that people enjoyed something I wrote--especially if Iâm insecure about it--also makes me really happy, and I get another burst of energy to write something for people. Comment on fics, guys! Tell authors you like their stuff! Youâll get more!
How did writing change you?
I consider things more analytically and find myself trying to work out how Iâd describe a particular emotion, or sensation or experience. Itâs also given me a better appreciation for the work of others! I tend to pick up on things I like or dislike about a work and better articulate why I feel that way, and then dissect the authorâs approach and their strengths in conveying things. Itâs like an English class, but far more fun!
How do you do your researches?
I get the idea for a fic, sit down and write it, and then as I start describing how a characterâs thrown through a wall go â...wait a moment. Would drywall realistically be used in the construction of a house at this place and time?â, which turns into an hour-long rabbit hole where I learn all about Midwestern architecture instead of writing. Other times Iâm dissatisfied with my own understanding of things and have to spend some time running several iterations of a medical (sometimes suspicious) question to get accounts from people who experienced the injury, or a doctorâs opinion on whatâs likely to happen. FBI Agent-chan, I promise Iâm not actually going to feed someone lye! I just want to know some things about what would happen, if I theoretically did. Theoretically.
Hardest character to write?
*Narancia materializes behind my shoulder like the ghost of a murdered Victorian child*
...good characters. I should say, itâs incredibly difficult for me to write heart-of-gold ultra goodboys like Okuyasu as the antagonist of a horror fic! There are characters who are generally good-aligned but are more than willing to get their hands dirty to get a job done, and there are characters I just really have a hard time seeing hurt people, so I avoid them if I canât think of a good angle. I canât--maybe wonât, itâs all the same thing with my Hell Fuck Brain--write something if it doesnât feel in character, and I avoid doing pure/straight fluff on this blog.
Easiest character to write?
KIRA. I used to be pretty interested in true crime and serial killers (a fact that should surprise absolutely nobody), and of all JJBAâs villains heâs very...human, in the way that we have plenty of real-life people with his motivations and deeds, if not his exploding housecat. I really enjoy dissecting his psychology, because he exposes a lot about his worldview in only a few interactions with women. Anyway, writing him comes very easily to me, because I understand him.
Favorite scene youâve ever written?
Why, Anon, I donât know what you mean! I love all my scenes equally!
*later* ...I donât care much for [youâll never know]
I actually had to think about this one for a moment, because I actually donât think about my scenes too much once Iâm done with them. Always looking to the next thing to write, I guess lmao. If I had to pick a favorite, though, Iâd definitely say itâs the Doppio scene. Iâve got a soft spot for that one because of the research that went into it (that ultimately ended up meaning VERY little lmao) and the muted horror and agony that I think really defined what I wanted to do with this blog. I think I tended to veer more towards psychological horror than body horror since then....until this month, anyway. Lmao.
Do you write linear or do you write future scenes if you feel like it?
Itâs very difficult for me to start a fic âin the middleâ. If Iâve got a good middle bit, Iâll sit on it and sit on it until I think of a good way to get there, and itâs not until I have the beginning that I actually start. Not because I want to, thatâs just how my brain works lmao. I tend to keep most of my writing in my head (drafts WHO? Outlines WHAT? Donât know her, bitch!), so the future scenes I have just stay there and keep developing until Iâve got the scope of the fic all set.
Share the synopsis of a story you work on that you havenât published yet.
"Company Manâ
Haha, what if I wrote a Modern/Office AU...just kidding...
unless...? Trouble-prone Reader-Chan is a new hire at Brando and Associates, where they discover a whole new definition of âcutthroatâ as they immediately get enmired in brutal office politics of unbelievable scope. The salaryâs great, but the workload is...shall we say, murder.
Writing advice?
Play Dnd. Specifically, run DnD...or any tabletop storytelling game, really, there are plenty of systems that focus on storytelling and donât really care about dice. I understand that this might require you to be a little more social than the advice you were expecting, but doing so is going to really help you with:
Flexibility. You must adapt to what your players unexpectedly do--thereâs no way to prepare for every outcome--and still make a story thatâs coherent and interesting. You have to learn that your characters--not your plot--is the king of your story, and sometimes theyâre going to take things in a direction you didnât plan on.  âYes, andâ or âYes, butâ is going to become your best friends, and this strategy will be a big help when you feel like youâre in a writing roadblock because your characters wonât do this or that! Â
Feedback. A story has to be engaging first, deep and profound or whatever second. Players will be able to immediately tell you âhey, this is funâ or âhey, this isnât coolâ, and by playing with different people youâll be able to catch weaknesses in your storytelling style sooner, and also get a better feel for what you just enjoy doing.
Also, write. Even if itâs bad. Thereâs a post on tumblr with this example, but itâs better to make a hundred shitty pots and improve each time than it is to wait and make a really good pot that could have been way better with the time you spent waiting to perfect it.

12 Ways to Boost Brand Awareness on Social Media
Social media doesnât feel very âsocialâ when youâre just another face in the crowd, does it?
And then we look at the likes of GoPro, Wendyâs or Starbucks with their rabid followers and wonder how we can replicate just a fraction of their performance.
The reality, though? If youâre struggling to stand out as a brand, youâre definitely not alone.
No, seriously.
Based on data from Sproutâs 2018 Social Index, brand awareness represents social marketersâ top priority right now.
But given how competitive the modern social landscape has become, perhaps this isnât much of a surprise.
With more and more people taking to social media to research and sound off on brands, getting your target audienceâs attention is easier said than done.
So what does an effective brand awareness strategy look like, anyway? How do you become a familiar face within your followersâ feeds versus someone they just scroll past?
Weâve highlighted twelve strategies businesses of all sizes can take to boost their brand awareness. From fine-tuning your profile to experimenting with your content, any combination of these tips are fair game.
And with that, letâs dive right in!
1. Give Your Social Presence Some Personality
First thingâs first: your social media presence shouldnât look like everyone elseâs.
And while this may seem obvious, many brands fall into the trap of becoming robotic.
They play it totally safe. They post a picture or link, tack on a few hashtags and call it a day.
Hereâs the deal, though: thatâs not how you stand out. Not by a long shot.
Moonpie is a shining example of a seemingly âboringâ brand thatâs exploded in popularity because of their distinct voice and sense of humor.
Tips for a safe and fun Fourth of July  1. Do not eat any fireworks 2. Eat a MoonPie â the American Classic! 3. Respect the heck out of some bald eagles 4. You may also eat hamburgers and a hotdog
â MoonPie (@MoonPie) July 4, 2018
Sure, itâd be easy for them to post generic promos. However, itâs their off-the-wall personality thatâs made them so endearing to followers.
And âpersonalâ is the keyword here. Followers want to see more than promos and links: they want personal, human-centric content. Thatâs why selfies and story-driven posts typically perform so well.

Instagram pages like that of Humans of New York post almost exclusively story-based content. Theyâve amassed nearly 8 million followers solely through tugging at the heartstrings of their fans.
âA couple weeks ago we were coming home from visiting my brother in Long Island and we stopped at a burger place off the highway. He had a Junior Whopper. I had a Whopper. We split the fries. And while we were eating, he said: âYou know what Daddy? Youâre a really great Daddy. I love you Daddy.â And that got me. I almost choked on my burger. Because it wasnât bedtime. He wasnât leaving for school. It was just off the cuff.â

Marketers are told time and time again to create âuniqueâ content. It might sound corny, but the person behind your social presence represents a one-of-a-kind voice.
Before you hit âpost,â make a point to ask yourself: âDoes this sound like something a bot would say?â
2. Fine-Tune Your Profiles
Recognition is a key element of building brand awareness.
When followers glance at your social profiles, they should be able to understand what youâre all about. Likewise, they should recognize that you are, well, you.
From social bios to profile images, how you set up your profile determines whether or not people recognize you. Check out how ThinkGeek has a clean logo and nerdy Facebook cover photo to matchâŠ
âŠwhile boasting the same logo and branded bio copy on Pinterest.
Spoiler alert: peopleâs attention spans are microscopic. You only have a few seconds to grab someoneâs attention and say âHey, this is who I am.â A clean, well-optimized profile and photo is key to spelling out your brand to someone who might not know you.
3. Make Your Posts Pop
Hereâs a common thread between most of our brand awareness tips: a bit of creativity can score you major brownie points with followers.
For example, check out how oVertone makes bold use of color throughout both their Instagram bio and content.
This sort of content does double-duty of highlighting their brandsâ voice and making scrollers stop in their Instagram feeds to drop a âlike.â

Anything you can do aesthetically to make your posts stand out is a point in your favor. Even if youâre not a design master, there are plenty of image creation tools to help you whip up some eye-catching imagery.
4. Tag Others to Get Them Talking
Tagging (@ mentioning) is a brilliant brand awareness strategy because it only takes about half a second and instantly amplifies your content.
Think about it. Anyone you tag via Twitter or Instagram instantly receives a notification, meaning you win an extra opportunity for engagement. Not only that, but itâs a surefire way to make positive impressions on others players in your industry.
If you have an opportunity to give someone a shoutout, go for it.
So many metrics, so little time. In this nifty list, I broke down some pretty sweet #social monitoring tools including @simplymeasured @BuzzSumo and @Brandwatch (and of course, @SproutSocial !): https://t.co/Z6bC3L4ULC #smm

5. Harness the Power of Hashtags
In our guide to how to use hashtags, we note that social posts with hashtags receive more engagement than those without them.
While each network has its own best practices, hashtags donât have to be rocket science. Hashtags instantly make your posts searchable and smaller, niche tags help introduce your brand to dedicated communities of potential fans.

Also, consider how creating your own hashtag is a smart move from a brand awareness perspective. Smaller, local brands can use their own branded hashtag like bigger brands: itâs all about reinforcing your identity and encouraging others to engage with you.

6. Creative Commenting
Not unlike tagging, people receive notifications in real-time for social comments.
Letâs be honest: most social comments arenât exactly compelling. This spells good news for brands who are willing to put a bit more thought into comments beyond âNice! or âCool!â
Posting creative or thoughtful comments is a great way to break through such noise. Itâs also another opportunity to show off your brandâs personality to potential followers.
7. Repurpose Your Content
If youâre like most marketers, youâre probably trying to boost brand awareness across multiple networks, right?
In that case, itâs important to repurpose your content to fit in with the best practices of each platform. After all, what works best on Instagram might not be prime for Facebook or Twitter.
For example, letâs say you publish a killer case study. Rather than post a mere link, taking the time to package it into an infographic is a surefire way to score shares and links alike.
Where are the world's self-employed based? https://t.co/tuJN9xzLUt pic.twitter.com/tPmwOGA3LR
â Forbes Asia (@ForbesAsia) July 10, 2018
As such, one-size-fits-all content and captions arenât going to win your brand much attention.
Photos. Videos. Blogs. Your stuff. Other peopleâs stuff.
To keep your feed from growing stale, you should always have new social media ideas on the backburner to keep your feed fresh.
8. Break Your Own News
According to Buzzsumoâs current state of content, the best performing pieces on social media are those that people can reference.
Stats. Case studies. Surveys.
If your brand is conducting any sort of original research, it can be a huge authority booster that does wonders for brand awareness, too.

â Sprout Social (@SproutSocial) June 5, 2018
And if youâre not in a position where such research is possible, donât panic.
Consider how you can comment on industry trends and happenings from your point-of-view. The takeaway here is that you should be contributing to the ongoing conversation of your industry at large versus just sitting on the sidelines.
9. Experiment with Your Captions
Social captions are yet another opportunity to let your brandâs voice be heard.
Again, no big brand or influencer simply drops a link without some sort of commentary. Captions can pique peopleâs interest and encourage engagement, giving a sort of taste to readers before they click through.
Seattle, we have a serious, insidious problem. https://t.co/oAmOJJGOxN
â Rand Fishkin (@randfish) July 4, 2018
As evidenced by the wealth of creative Instagram hashtags and captions out there, creativity counts. Whether through emojis or cracking jokes, captions are prime real estate for connecting with followers and letting them know exactly who you are.
Waffle cones are scientifically proven to taste better when eaten with friends.* đŻââïžđŠ *we donât actually have any data to support this claim but trust us.
A post shared by Ben & Jerry's (@benandjerrys) on Jun 29, 2018 at 12:20pm PDT
10. Use Social as a Tool for Teaching
In the marketing world, the brands that tend to stand out are the ones that strive to teach their audiences.
Educational and âhow-toâ content is widely sought after on just about every social network. Posting such content regularly positions you both as a positive resource and a thought leader.
I've always been a side projects person because it helps me avoid burnout. Do you have a side gig that helps keep you creative? https://t.co/X1nG9RHe96
â Kaleigh Moore (@kaleighf) May 30, 2018
This principle applies to non-marketers, too. The more opportunities to show off your brandâs product or know-how, the better. Just think about how popular tutorials are on Pinterest to see the power of educational content in action.
11. Donât Be Afraid of Being Opinionated
According to our own data, people want brands to take a stand.
Parroting what everyone is saying might be âsafe,â but doesnât do much in terms of brand awareness. The previously noted Buzzsumo study also highlights that âpolitical and tribalâ content performs particularly well these days.
Thatâs not to say you should go out and alienate your audience, but you should stand by your brandsâ principles and beliefs. Wearing them on your sleeve can get people talking and serve as a way to stand out against your competitors.
You almost surely havenât budgeted time, energy, or dollars for âwhatever it takesâ. Thatâs also code for âat all costs,â and when you stop discussing costs, you know theyâre going to spiral. #ItDoesntHaveToBeCrazyAtWork
â Jason Fried (@jasonfried) June 25, 2018
Of course, the key here is to tread lightly. The name of the game is being bold for the sake of your brand, not stirring the pot just because you can.
12. Show Up Consistently
Finally, consider that nobody can truly be aware of your brand if you donât post consistently.
Based on Sproutâs own data on the best times to post on social media, brands are expected to push content out multiple times per day across multiple networks.
And if your brand isnât, thereâs a non-zero chance that someone else in your space is.
To help you save time and to make the process of showing up easier, having a scheduling tool such as a Sprout on deck can be game-changer.
The more ground you and your brand can cover, the better. It all comes down to having a specific strategy which makes the most out of the time you spend on social media.
And with that, we conclude our list!
What Does Your Brand Awareness Strategy Look Like?
Building buzz around your brand might take a bit of experimenting, but having a dedicated awareness strategy remains the number one concern of businesses today.
And by following the principles outlined above, you poise yourself toward becoming a brand that sticks out in the minds of your audience.
We want to hear from you, though. What makes a brand stand out to you on social media? If youâve been struggling to figure out how to increase brand awareness, whatâs been tripping you up? Let us know in the comments below!

As evidenced by the wealth of creative Instagram hashtags and captions out there, creativity counts. Whether through emojis or cracking jokes, captions are prime real estate for connecting with followers and letting them know exactly who you are.

10. Use Social as a Tool for Teaching
In the marketing world, the brands that tend to stand out are the ones that strive to teach their audiences.
Educational and âhow-toâ content is widely sought after on just about every social network. Posting such content regularly positions you both as a positive resource and a thought leader.
