i know the point of this combat is its lethality. however. seeing the "murder of a minor" content warning did make me realize i still had hope they'd pull off a battle of the brands and all make it out okay
also it's a 5 minute segment i'm scared

At first, when Cassandra got the she/they on her card, I figured, okay, yeah, sure, it's part of her personal journey from the she/her ancient night deity to the he/him Nightmare King to figuring out what their identity is with fully they/them and now settling into she/they. There was a lot going on in Cassandra's life, so change fits the character's theme.
But now we're more than halfway through the season and there was not a single they for Cassandra and then there's Baron, who has also been exclusively referred to as he so far.
And it feels more like post-production trying to save face and not like actual he/they or she/they representation. Like, the season wrapped, they exclusively she'd Cassandra and he'd Baron, but someone realized both characters used to go by they/them so they slapped a two pronoun thing on their cards.
Feels like there should have been someone there to lore-check during the season and go "hey, so, this character has gone by different pronouns so far?".

the fact that Galicaea conspired against her sister to erase her name from the world and kill her so she could claim all her followers and eliminate doubt, spurring her corruption in doing so, and now we learn that Ruvina conspired against her sister to erase her name from the world and kill her in an attempt to preserve her and not let a corrupted version of her reign............. i am comparing i am contrasting i am losing my mind

i do agree with you that one, she is a groomed and manipulated teenager and two she did make the choice to take the shatter star to kill her friends and that she felt no guilt for doing so. however she is not a white privilaged private school rich girl. to us? maybe, but in the world of solace she is not.
in the world of solace she is a halfling, the model minority as mentioned by both gorthalax and the cubbys in season one of fantasy high. she is expected to act kind and sweet and polite because that is what halflings are expected to be. their home was colonized by humans and elves and they are expected to be complicit and act polite and sweet in return.
her rage stems from a lot of places, one of them i dont doubt being the fact that she has this deep fury burning within her that she is expected to never act on for she must be the model minority to the world. she must brace the world with a smile and a will to help because otherwise what use is she for otherwise.
this post isnt meant to be an attack or mean or anything like that if it does come off as that then my apologies. just wanted to reply with my thoughts on it cuz i am so insane about klck
see the thing about kipperlilly copperkettle is. of course she’s a deeply nuanced and victimised teenage character. of course she has a neglected mood disorder that isn’t her fault. of course she was manipulated and groomed.
but at the same time. she chose the shatter-star. she killed all her friends. her actions and more importantly her motivations were selfish, entitled and came from a place of privilege. she is literally that rich white private school girl whining about how she’s at a “disadvantage” because she doesn’t have any struggles or trauma to put on her college app essay.
SHE CAN BE BOTH. she IS both. so many d20 fans are acting like its a binary choice, love her or hate her, but it’s NOT. did she deserve to die? probably not. but were the bad kids justified in killing her? fuck yeah. both of these things can exist at once
