Your shop was pretty well known in the area. Along with regular treats, you also offered food with minor…tweaks. You were only 1/3 of a witch yourself from your father’s side. Unfortunately, there was a cap to how much magic a halfa (part magical creature, part human) could produce. But you weren’t complaining. You wouldn’t even know what to do with all that power should you have had it.

No, what you could do now was just enough in your opinion. Ever wanted to have a conversation with the family pet, try the strawberry acorn animal scone. Or how about easing the aches and pains of the daily grind with a Get Better Blondie? It was on a random Tuesday morning that you had realized a mistake.

With your meager powers, each loaf was able to make the customer feel a serenity that’d put the CBD shoppe to shame. And not to brag or anything but they were fucking delicious.

It was as you were about to run out of your shop to Kochi’s Bazaar, the germakochi owned spice bazaar that was home to the most pungent spices, Turkish delights, caviar, dried nuts, and more, that you ran into something, or rather, someone instead.

“Oh!” A deep voice yelled in surprise.

“Oh my god!” you exclaimed.

There before you stood the man of your fantasies. You were absolutely gobsmacked. This man was absolutely STUNNING, with a capital STUN.

‘Daaaaamn, he looks better up close.’

“You alright?”

‘And an accent???’ Your internal monologue was just going haywire.

“Uh…yeah,” you said, trying to pull yourself together. “No yeah, I’m…I’m ok. Sorry for running into you.”

He smiled brightly at your flustered form, grinning from ear to ear. “It’s fine. No harm done.”

You both stood in front of your bakery waiting for the other to speak.

“You’re not closing up early are you? The day hasn’t even started,” He asked, finally breaking the silence while glancing from you to the bakery.

“Sort of? For now anyways.”

He gave you a questioning look that made you want to elaborate immediately.

“I ran out of one the key ingredients that I needed to make one of my specialty loaves. I was gonna head on over to Kochi’s to see if he had anything in stock.”

“Oh no! …I think I heard my mom saying that Kochi’s not here right now,” he said with an apologetic look.

“What!?” You hadn’t heard anything about Kochi leaving.

“Yeah! He, uh, went back to Turkey for a family emergency or…something.”

“Crap, what am I gonna do now?” you mumbled to yourself.

“You know, I was heading to the forest just now, I could see if I can find whatever it is you need.”

“Oh, no, I couldn’t possibly trouble you…”

You never got his name…

“Felix,” He answered with a crooked smile.

“Felix,” you repeated softly, his smile turning into a grin once again.

“It’s no trouble at all Y/N. Just tell me what you need.”

Is your brain short circuiting? Did he just check you out? No right?

Clearing you throat, you nodded.

“Alright, I’ll keep an eye out. I know a spot that should have some, be back in an hour. Hope that’s ok.”

“Yeah that’s fine, I’ll prepare something else in the meantime. As a thank you, I’ll give you one of whatever you want and a drink of your choice for free.”

“I’ll look forward to it,” he said while walking away, grin still plastered on his face.

You stared after him for a few moments before realizing what you were doing. Face flushing in embarrassment, you ran inside your bakery to get started on a different treat to put out.

But it was when you were mixing in the some wolfsbane to a muffin mixture that you realized, you’d never given Felix your name before, so how did he…?

What he did know was that he finally got the chance to talk to the cute baker he’d been crushing on for the past who knows how long. He couldn’t keep the smile off his face even if he tried.

Something stirred in the air as he walked, and it wasn’t the magic that thrummed in his veins.

What an eventful day.

Firstly, we had an appointment but hubby decided to go into town two hours early. Simply because there's a food and drinks festival going on.

As soon as we arrived, we could feel a few drops of rain, so we scarpered into the indoor market.

And good job too, because the heavens opened and it absolutely heaved it down.

We stayed and had a cuppa. After half an hour, I checked and it was drying up. So we explored the food stalls before going to the appointment

After that we thought we'd have some food and tried Jamaican for a change, hubby had a pale ale and I had a glass of prosecco

Hubby was still hungry so he bought a frankfurter

We bought some craft cider, special baked doggie mini muffins - which Tommy hated on sight

Turkish delight, a couple of cakes (Viennese whirl and an Aero rocky road)

I visited a lovely little bakery up one of the yards and bought some granary sourdough bread, as well as a parmesan roll and a cinnamon muffin. I've yet to eat the roll but the muffin and a slice of the loaf were absolutely delicious ❤️❤️❤️

Oh and some absolutely divine body butter - rose geranium. You only need a teeny tiny bit

November 2023 Empties (& Mini Reviews).

Years ago on my old Tumblr, I did a side blog which did reviews & the likes of that sort of thing. One of these things I did was a monthly empties & mini reviews of these products. I've decided to have another try at this (I've also been inspired by various YT channels & IG pages which are based on panning products & also monthly empties). It would also possibly be helpful to me if I see something that I have used & remind me that I did like it considering my memory recently has been terrible.

Anyway, so far this is the empties for last month that I will also do mini reviews on. If I do another one next month & it has some of these products I won't include them. Anyway, I'll start with the first product:

Simple 10% Vitamin B3 Niacinamide Booster Serum:

I liked this serum! I've used various brands of niacinamide serums over the past few years & I really liked this one. It was nice to apply and it had an almost creamy feel to it. I also preferred it to The Ordinary's serum as that always had a sticky feel to it (though I did like that had the inclusion of zinc to it). I would definetly get this again.

Simple Age Resisting Day Cream with SPF 15:

This was just a simple (no pun intended) moisturiser & does what it says- keeps my skin moisturised. There is no scent to this. I would use this again but I do wish the SPF was higher.

Erbario Toscano Rose Shower Gel:

This smells absolutely gorgeous! I love rose scented things & the smell of this also reminds me of Turkish Delight (not the chocolate one).

It does feel like you need to get a good few squirts for it to foam though. It lasted a while (I got this in August). I would definetly get this again if I see it in TK Maxx.

The Body Shop Lime & Matcha Hair & Body Mist:

This smelt very limey! It's a super refreshing scent and is great scent for throughout the day when you need a pick me up. Sadly though this seems to have been discontinued. I picked this up in TK Maxx for about £6 (I think the original price was either £10 or £12).

Nourish Body Scrub- Rosehip & Coffee:

I got this from (surprise, surprise) TK Maxx. I thought it would have a rose like scent but it didn't- it was a very strong coffee smell (which didn't bother me as I like the smell of coffee).

Its a dry scrub which I'm not used to- I'm used to using ones that lather up. It does an amazing job of exfoilating & left my skin feeling soft. However, I would not purchase this again. It's very harsh (I actually managed to scratch myself with it) & it's incredibly messy.

e.l.f Eye Primer:

This is really good & is also a reasonable price. I've used a Maxfactor or Revlon eye primer in the past & it was horrible; I've also used the Urban Decay one which is brilliant but pricey. Since I've been trying to practice using eyeshadow, I've been using the e.l.f eye primer & it does the job. It does such a good job, I'm on to my second tube.

Cogerie Hyaluronic Anti Age Serum:

I like this serum so so much! It does have a light floral scent so if you don't like scents in your skincare, bear that in mind. My skin always felt soft after using this & it kept my skin hydrated. I also like the design on the bottle, its really pretty.

I do have two problems with this though: the first one being that I always struggle getting the remainder of the serum in bottles that have a pipette in them. The second is I got this from TK Maxx so it's anyone's guess whether they'll have this in stock again. I would definetly get this again though.

Garnier Skinactive Micellar Cleansing Oil Infused Water:

This is the best thing I have ever used to remove my makeup- it gets my Barry M Genie Lipstick off effortlessly and it is great removing waterproof makeup. I get the blue one (the yellow one dries out my hands & makes them sting).

You guys I got two book deliveries today while I was at work - one is a delightful book with a lot of hilarious writing and the other has a printing defect that I am currently awaiting resolution for.

Turkish and I were way more excited about the cookbook than we were for our own comic, lol.

srsly though, Dylan's book is way heftier than I was expecting. There are also little introductions to every recipe and you can hear his voice saying all of it. In the back of the book are a handful of the worst recipes he's ever done, because he knows what we want.

10/10 recommend buying if you were on the fence about it. I've already bookmarked a couple recipes to try on my own in my tiny closet of a kitchen.

I'm disappointed in the pimpette book; with Fan Expo next month I was looking forward to finally having a table full of comic books. Hopefully the printer can re-send without all the weird colour streaks; I'm still grumpy that apparently nobody bothered to glance at it before they mailed it.

At least I do have the first Pimpette comic book, which I got through a different printer (who has their own issues but that's another story), plus the two Slow Burn issues.

I am definitely going to do a zine or two for the con though! I'll flip through my handfuls of side stories and toss a couple together into some simple little black and white mini zines.

Hell yeah Zeke loves mint chocolate ice cream. In fact they love almost all ice cream, and they're one of those freaks who will get a craving for ice cream specifically when it's really cold outside.

Despite their love of ice cream Zeke avoided the ice cream stand for...well, obvious reasons. I'm actually considering making a one off comic where they try to go order and exactly what you expect to happen happens.

Zeke's favorite flavor of ice cream is honey lavender, because it's my favorite flavor so why the hell not. Their least favorite is pistachio, and since they're not a fan of coffee they likewise don't like most coffee ice creams.

Right now Zeke still has a really shitty old mini fridge that only barely keeps things cold enough, so they can't really keep as much ice cream in reserve as they'd like. They do have bags of various chocolate candies stashed around there cabin, many of which they've forgotten about and will find stuffed in the couch or behind a chair as a nice surprise later. It's healthy 'cause most of it is dark chocolate, shhh.

Weird answer, but: Turkish Delight. Lightly sweet, floral, subtle, often surprising, can get annoyingly stuck to you, and associated with witches.

Comfort food: Ice cream, chocolaty candies, pastas, cheeses (gonna give Zeke another thing I've done and say that they've literally microwaved a bowl of cheese and eaten it when things got really bad for them in the past).

Favorite meal: Any combination of noodles, cheese, garlic, and white sauce is a winner honestly

Least favorite meal: They've gotten so, so tired of horseradish salads. So tired. They also hate most mushrooms.

Hard to say, Zeke will eat just about anything once. They're definitely never trying pepper poppers again though.

Zeke's never really had to cook for a guest in their lives (though that's actually gonna be changing soonish). So I don't know if they'd really know what to make other than whatever kind of food they think the guest would like. Again, they're still making do with an old mini fridge and microwave right now.

Some good quality honey. I'm a weirdo who puts a bit of honey in almost everything I make. I don't honestly know if they'd bring much right now since they're limited on cooking options.

Something they could bring back and save to reheat and eat over a couple of days, as an apology for letting them stay stuck in an un-upgraded farmhouse living off forage for an entire year.

Helloooo farmer friends!! So last night my friend @pavusprince mentioned how she doesn’t understand the toothpaste mint chocolate chip ice cream comparison and that got me thinking!! Let’s talk about food!!

Does your farmer like mint chocolate ice cream? Does it taste like toothpaste? Are they neutral, or do they hate it?

During the summer does your farmer visit Alex’s ice cream stand? What flavor/treat do they buy? What’s their least favorite flavor?

What is one treat your farmer will ALWAYS have in their home? Is it healthy or unhealthy?

If your farmer was a snack item what would they be? (It cannot be a food that could be eaten like a meal, but it may be a dessert) Here’s some examples: chips, cookies, M&ms, Twinkies, crackers, bubblegum, lollipops, etc

i’m bad at dialogue

Alrighty. So I haven’t really seen anything with pre-war!Bucky and Zemo around yet. And since I know I couldn’t write a fic without it being either really bad or never finished, I drew this mini-comic thing of a random idea I had instead. 

The concept is pretty much around:

Zemo, for whatever reason, finds himself in the 1930/40s era. Maybe it was before he was turned into the Dora Milaje or maybe after. After a bit of a freak out or something, he might decide to clear his head with a drink from the closest bar, where he come across a familiar face. 

He probably knows there has to be some sort of time law that says you’re not supposed to change the past, or he just doesn’t want to risk making anything that happens in a future worse. Because of this, he would spend a lot of time (attempting to) blend in the time period around him, while trying to figure out how to get back to his own time. Nonetheless, he would still probably slip out a few modern pop culture references that end up confusing everyone around him.

There would definitely be some inner conflict when he come’s across pre-serum!Steve as well, but I also see Zemo randomly offering him some turkish delight for some reason. XD 

Also I could totally see Bucky insisting on Zemo calling him his nickname instead of “James” and being totally confused about why the other is weird about it. Zemo would probably eventually give into it, though, and reason to himself that it’s because the man in front of him, “Bucky,” is not quite the same as “James,” the man in the future. And Zemo would maybe just introduce himself as Helmut, knowing that “Zemo” would be too much of a recognizable for this Bucky when the future catches up to him.

But overall, I would be more of a bonding, slow(ish) burn story with the two. Zemo begins to know and understand more about Bucky’s past, and Bucky learns a different side to the man he doesn’t know yet. There could be a of random shenanigans with the two, and while I personally picture it more under a shipping light, it could be played out as more platonic as well. 

But yeah

I don’t know if any of this made sense, but if you’ve actually read this far on my weird rant, thank you and you’re awesome. Sorry if there are any typos here. If there’s anyone who wants to borrow this idea or add on to this, you’re totally welcome to! :D I might add more to this later, but prolly not.
