Is the fight part of anxiety, not flight, and if cornered may lash out aggressively to protect himself and the body. 

> Ways they do their role: Virgil’s entire role is to hold intrusive thoughts and anxiety. If someone in front is experiencing these symptoms it will come to front to alleviate them. This means that the alter is now free of those symptoms, the stress and everything else, but that also means Virgil is burdened with it and will need comfort and support to get rid of it. May hold intrusive fears about leaving things on, forgetting to do certain things or things being done incorrectly. The best way to help with these is to go check on the things he’s worried about. 

> Inner world occupation or behavior: Is a bit of a shut in, doesn’t really go out much or leave their apartment much. Storm goes places with Roman but that’s about it, doesn’t feel like leaving. May take personal trips to get coffee or just have a bit of outside time, especially if it’s raining but otherwise prefers to stay inside. 

> Possible outerworld behavior: If Virgil fronts alone it’s almost exclusively with a sense of panic. Even if doing something that storm enjoys, he will still be slightly panicked, there might be a buzz in the skin or a tenseness in your entire body. If you’re experiencing some sort of anxiety or panic, Virgil will immediately alleviate that from whoever in front is experiencing it, at the cost of becoming stressed out rainself. The only way to calm him down is to front Roman with him, which isn’t difficult, she seems to have a sort of spidey sense when it comes to Virgil being anxious. ES Journeys Main Cast: Silvia the Sylveon

Hello everyone again. Today I'm talking about the last of the main cast of ES Journeys (Not really because Axel but just wanted to do the main 9 first) so this post will be about Silvia.

Remember that the main thing you should know about my version of the cast is that they are supposed to be as closely accurate to how they were in the comic in terms of personality and backstory as possible while also changing things to improve them by adding, removing, or expanding things about them.

Now without further ado, here's Journeys Silvia.

(Note: Not everything is fully fleshed out. These are just the main ideas I have and am currently trying to flesh out)

Silvia Silvia is a well known character for a couple of reasons. She's known for flirting with boys, her friendship with Crystal and Lazuli, having Gai as her older brother, friends with Manaphy, her weird yellow eyes thing that seem like a joke but is actually a power she has, and her romance with Silvia which is also toxic and contradicting.

Yeah... Silvia has some interesting stuff but a lot of it is pushed to side because of Eeveelution Squad is a Speed's harem romance plot. Bleh! Anyway I plan on giving Silvia some extra stuff and actually do stuff with her.

Personality Silvia is more or less the same as she is in the comics. She's cheerful and energetic, always having a smile on her face. She can also be a bit mischievous sometimes as she would sometimes pull harmless pranks off with Crystal. Despite that she cares about those she cherishes and does what she can to help.

Silvia can be pretty flirty. During Silvia's childhood she flirted with boys a lot by using Attract on them as she liked the attention she got from them. This behavior of her's can get her into trouble a lot and luckily she stops doing this after Kalos. After Kalos she stops but does it in situations where she has to do it.

Silvia has had feelings for Speed since her childhood and even after moving away to Kalos she still felt love for him. When she reunites with him in Kalos, she really wanted to get together with him again despite Speed showing he doesn't feel the same way. Silvia does get jealous a little of Lazuli trying to make advancements on him but doesn't really do anything crazy.

Silvia had a strong fear of heights after an incident in her childhood. Whenever she sees she's at a high place she instantly holds onto someone tightly and cries. She does get over this fear eventually.

Silvia is alright with battling but during Kalos she liked doing Pokemon Showcases more.

When it comes Sylvia and the subject of moms, Silvia is a little sensitive about her. Since Silvia was still an egg when her mom left she never got to meet her or know her and whenever she asked her dad or brother about her they wouldn't or couldn't give a good enough answer. She wonders who her mom was and why did she leave her and the rest of her family. The lack of maternal love in her life is the reason why Silvia started flirting with boys and using Attract on them. Despite lacking a motherly figure in her life, she's really good with kids as shown with Sunshine and Mana.

Silvia likes to sing. An early dream of her's was becoming a pop star and she is a really good singer. She did covers of songs that she posts on her Poketube channel. Silvia can write original songs like the Eeveelution Squad's theme song, "To be the Greatest Team" (I'm not a music writer so the Eeveelution Squad's theme song is just the Pokemon anime's Japanese opening, "Aim to be a Pokemon Master").

Silvia likes collection Pokemon plushies.

Moves, Ability, and Battle Style Silvia in this AU is much stronger than her comic counterpart as she actually fights however there is one change. The yellow eye thing she had in the comics that made her strong enough to lift a Luxray, Absol, and Hydriegon as well as the entire main cast is not part of her in ES Journeys.

Silvia's battle style is pretty generic with her her using a mix of physical and ranged attacks. Despite that having a basic battle style, Silvia uses moves like Attract and Baby-Doll Eyes to make her opponents lower their guard so that they're open to an attack.

Silvia uses her ribbon feelers to her advantage as it allows her to grab things from afar for offensive or defensive purposes however if she stretches them too much it'll begin to hurt. Silvia's feelers can also help her understand how someone is feeling by wrapping one of them around a Pokemon.

Silvia has a wide array of Fairy-Type moves as well as other Type moves. Silvia's ability is Cute Charm. When a Pokemon makes contact with Silvia she can activate this ability to make the opponent infatuated with her.

Silvia's Backstory Silvia hatched on March 27, 2001. She lived in Sunny Town with her dad, Frank and her older brother, Gai who is three years older than her.

Throughout Silvia's early childhood she mostly spent it alone as Frank was busy with doing classes at home while Gai was in school. While Frank and Gai do give her love and attention, something felt missing for Silvia and that was the love from a mother. When she asks Gai about their mom he says he doesn't know much and when she goes to ask Frank he dodges the question.

On April of 2004, Silvia attends school for the first time. While there she became friends with a Vulpix named Nora and a Skitty named Daisy. A few years later, Silvia learns Attract and she decided to use it on the boys of the school to give her attention as a way to fill in the missing love from a mom. Over the years many boys fell for Silvia after she used Attract on them with one of them being Hydra and while Silvia loved the attention she was getting it still wasn't enough to fill in that missing thing. Due to having so many boys wanting her, Frank had Gai watch over her in and after school however he's often doing his own thing with flirting with other girls.

In 2011 one day, Silvia meets Speed for the first time who was with Trace and recognizes him as the Eevee who stood up to Shade. She attempts to make Speed fall for him with Attract but is surprised to see that it didn't work. As she left him alone, she was interested with Speed not falling for him unlike the rest of the guys. A week later, Silvia would run into Speed again and when she uses Attract again and it fails, he asked her why she did that to which she responds saying it was a test which weirds him out and makes him leave but Silvia's interest him increased.

One day Silvia wandered south of Sunny Town and was at a coast where there was a cave close by. When Silvia goes in the cave she saw a Manaphy and was amazed by the sight of it. She approaches the Mythical Pokemon but when it saw her it was scared but Silvia reassured her she wasn't going to hurt them. She introduces herself to the Manaphy and the Mythical Pokemon didn't have a name to introduce themselves as they reveal they hatched yesterday. Silvia names the Manaphy as Mana and when she asks the Manaphy where it plans on staying it said they wanted to stay in the cave so Silvia said she'd help decorate it.

Silvia went back to town to get some help with decorating the cave but unfortunately Gai, Nora, and Daisy were too busy to help. She soon finds Speed with Trace and asks him to help to which he said he will after being convinced by Trace she and him went to the coast. Silvia introduces Speed to Mana which shocks him and he tells Silvia that it's best that Mana's existence should remain between them since it might be dangerous if too many people knew about Mana which she realized he was right. After that the two helped decorate the cave with stuff Silvia brought. After they finished decorating the cave the two talked for a bit and then Silvia thanked Speed for helping and starts to look at him lovingly which he notices. When Speed asked why she was looking at him like that, Silvia said she's starting to like him. Ever since that day, Silvia often hung out with Speed and would often tease that they're dating which Speed denies every time.

One day, Shade attempted to get rid of Speed by hiring a criminal Fearow to kidnap him however due to Shade not anticipating Silvia being with him, the Fearow took the wrong Eevee. Silvia was scared as she was kidnapped but was luckily saved by Speed however this incident made her develop a fear of heights.

On January 22, 2013, Silvia graduated from school. While she wasn't exactly sure what she wanted to do for her future, she decided to try to become a pop star so she often did covers for songs that she'd upload onto her Poketube channel to build her following.

A few days after graduating, Silvia learned that Speed's birthday was coming up so she got him a scarf and as she thought of all the times she spent with him, she eventually realizes she genuinely does love him which causes her to evolve into a Sylveon.

In April, Frank after officially becoming a professor and finding a place for his lab in Kalos of Lumiose City, he told Silvia and Gai that they're leaving Sunny Town so they packed their things up. A few days later after shipping their stuff to Kalos, with only a few hours left in Sunny Town before heading to the airport, Silvia went around to say goodbye to Pokemon she knows like Nora and Daisy, Mana, and most importantly Speed who in her final moments with him gave him a kiss on the lips. After that, Silvia leaves Sunny Town and the Kanto region and moves to Lumiose City in Kalos.

Some time has passed and Silvia and her family have settled into their new home in Kalos. Silvia continued making more song cover videos and while she enjoyed the new city, she missed the Pokemon she knew in Kanto. She also missed Speed as her feelings for him hasn't left and wouldn't leave for many years. Some years go by and soon some Pokemon that Silvia knew moved to Kalos with Nora and Daisy moving into Lumiose City together and Mana managing to make it to Shalour City with Silvia helping it set up its new cave home.

In March of 2018, when Gai was watching that year's Vertress Conference on TV, she saw Speed battling and was surprised to see him.

In October of 2018 when the Eeveelution Squad arrive in Kalos for the first time and were in Lumiose City, she reunites with Speed after so many years and meets the rest of the Eeveelution Squad who she knows of thanks to Gai. Before the team left Lumiose City to start their Kalos journey, Silvia wanted to join them as she thought adventuring with them would be fun but for a personal reason, she wanted to try to get with Speed again for real this time.

Silvia's Journey In XY, Silvia makes her debut and is the last newest member to join the Eeveelution Squad. Silvia unintentionally causes trouble within the team as Lazuli and Pearl get jealous of her and her flirting behavior can get her and the rest of the team in trouble. Silvia makes an attempt to get with Speed again for real this time however Speed doesn't feel the same way and she has to learn to accept that he doesn't like her that way. Silvia takes part in Pokemon Showcase where she leads the girls of the team and has a rivalry with other Performance Teams like Nora and Daisy's, Flora and Cream's, and Sylvia's which she doesn't know that she is her mother.

In Sun & Moon, Silvia learns to appreciate life as well as the Pokemon around her which is her team who she starts to see as family. Also before the team's Alola journey started, Silvia asked her dad if there was a place where the team could stay in the region longer to which Frank gave her the keys to his summer house and said they can stay in it for as long as they stay in the region.

In Master Journeys, just like with the rest, Silvia was against the team splitting up to train but is convinced that it's best for the team if they want to get through the Ultra Class in the World Championship Series.

Well that's it. Now that Silvia's post is done that is all the main cast (Again not counting Axel as I wanted to do the first 9 Eeveelutions) for ES Journeys. I really did try with making the characters be better in terms of role, portrayal, and just overall being better than how they were in the comic while fixing their flaws while also making them fit with the AU setting of a Shounen competitive battling story. I really hope you all like my versions of the characters.

Hamefura bonus story : "I want to see the merchant caravan show again."

(This is a story about when Aaqil and his friends are still there cleaning up after the movie version of the Sacred Beast Incident)

"Come on, have it."

I, Catarina Claes, said this to my usual friends and my adopted brother, and offered them sweets and tea.

"Wow, are these Mutlaq's sweets ?"

Sophia asked, her eyes shining.

"Yeah. Yesterday, when I went to check on everyone in the caravan, I bought a lot."

Some time has passed since a merchant caravan arrived from a foreign country called Mutlaq, and a major incident occurred in Sorcier.

I was concerned about them as they were busy with post-processing, so I went to check on them. I bought a lot of sweets that were being sold at that time.

I was told, ``Don't worry about the money, just take them with you,'' but I made sure to pay because I knew they would need some supplies from now on.

I bought a lot to wish the caravan to do their best, but I ended up with more than I could eat by myself, so I asked everyone if they would like to consume them at a tea party. I thought it wouldn't be possible since it happened yesterday, but I'm so happy that everyone came together.

“Did you go to the caravan alone, Catarina ?”

Geordo asked with a somewhat dark smile.

Hmm, Is he in a bad mood ?

``As soon as I thought of it, she was already gone before I knew it. It seems like she even had dinner together with them over there.''

When Keith said that with a troubled look on his face, Geordo let out a sigh.

“Ah, they said it was okay because we were in a difficult time , so I didn’t eat that much or stay long enough to bother them .”

I hurriedly denied it, thinking that he thought I was being rude by intruding at such a difficult time. However,

"Big sister, the problem is not there."

"Yes, it's not there. The problem is that you went there alone, Catarina."

The two said so and shook their heads. The problem is that I went alone.

“Maybe you two wanted to join the merchant caravan ?”

I thought that was what they meant, but they shook their heads again. Eh, then what does they mean ? 

“I wanted to go again.”

Sophia said that with sparkling eyes. Her breath was also a little harsh. Maria also spoke up.

“I would also like to hear more about Mutlaq’s sweets and dishes from the merchant caravan.”

Last time, Maria was listening intently to various things. And Sophia's otaku blood was completely awakened at that stage. 　 I was completely fascinated by the show as well. It seems that Mary thought the same thing,

``It was such a wonderful space. I would like to go there again if I could.''

She said with a smile and a hand on her cheek after listening to us.

"I'd like to go too. I'm sure there's an animal show or something."

Alan said that with an excited face like a child's. Come to think of it, no one but the girls got to see that wonderful show.

"Yes, the animal show was amazing. But the singing and dancing were also really wonderful."

I gestured to the boys who weren't watching and told them how wonderful the show was. The other girls also added on and talked about how wonderful it was and what attracted them.

After listening to the story, Nicol was the first to speak.

“I’d definitely like to see that.”

His face was expressionless, but his eyes were sparkling.

"That's right. It's really interesting to hear you talking about this," 　 Keith said with an interested look on his face.

``No, no, I'm interested in that wonderful show, so it's fine. However, Catarina, from now on, let's refrain from going to the caravan alone."

Watched the movie and honestly it was fine. No groundbreaking cinematic masterpiece. No disasturous dumpster fire. Just an ok movie that felt like a fanfiction from s1

Here's some more thoughts I have. There's no structure it's a little chaotic. Also spoilers (duh)

The stuff I liked:

The music was good

THE ANIMATION IS GORGEOUS. The lighting in every scene is perfect, the city actually feels populated and the colors overall are so much prettier than in the show

I loved the akuma designs

They do a good job of establishing how Marinette, in the beginning, is very anxious, affected by Chloe's bullying and how she doesn't have friends. That works better than what the show tried to establish, about how Marinette had no friends but still being popular for some reason

Alya being a good friend

The way Adrien deals with the loss of his mother and how playing the piano brings him comfort and makes him feel close to her. Imo the show went overboard with how literally everything Adrien does is dictated by his dad and never something he might genuinely enjoy doing. The fact that he had this hobby made him feel like he was more than just a sad boi

Adrien also seems to struggle with not having many friends outside Nino. Works pretty well with the characterization that he's socially awkward after being homeschooled for most of his life

Generally this Adrien has more PV vibes? I‘m digging it ngl

Marinette's dad is the best

Fu's introduction to Marinette sure was something xD

Gabriel was a good villain character. The show version is just some weird ass goof who is a huge ass to his son and everyone, yet the show wants you to feel for him without giving us a reason to care. This version actually has complexity. He’s still an ass, but now the pain over loosing Emilie feels real. You also have him hesitating to use the butterfly but ultimately spiraling completely into an actually threatening villain.

the fight scenes looked great

Marinette is still clumsy and awkward towards Adrien but without being too cringe about it and doing stupid shit. It‘s just heart eyes and day dreams and some stuttering. She‘s still nervous but I never felt like Adrien brought oit her worst side like in the show. She was simply a girl in love. This was wholesome to watch and so much better than... whatever the fuck the show did with the fucking dating trauma to use for """comedy""" bc the show runners have zero respect for her seriously I'll never get over how fucking stupid that was Marinette honey you deserve so much better

I honestly think this is a better version of the square. Still heavily flawed, but their dynamic feels so much more natural. Ladynoir stuff was sweet

The end where Marinette looses the earrings and then saves Chat without the costume was a good scene

Most of their moments were just quiet moments between just the two without any outside forces and characters constantly pushing them together. This bothers me in the show so much and is another major reason I cant get behind the ship, but for the most part the movie has some gentle pushing here and there but no convoluted and stupid cringy plans. In that regard movie love square is superior

Nino had a thing for Alya from the start pretty much, unlike in the show where he was crushing on Mari five minutes before getting with Alya. I like them in both the show and the movie, but the way they got together in the show was a little meh

The stuff I don't know how to feel about:

Careless whisper. It was silly goofy but especially the second time when Paris is on fire and we skip to Adrien's room where he sulks... yeah that tome switch really threw me off

Two different voice actors for singing an talking. The difference was very jarring and while good for Bryce, Cristina has the voice of an angel like cmon I need her to do at least a cover from one song

Gabriel's redemption. Ok so I'm a little torn because the way they did it ties in very well with the the "power of love" theme that his love for Adrien makes him realize his mistakes bla bla, but he still terrorized a city and yet faces zero consequences, and Adrien forgives him, which are all thing that really rub me the wrong way. Idk the franchise is so obsessed with painting this man in a sympathetic light and in order for this to feel truly satisfying Gabriel shouldn't have tried to destroy Paris like 5 minutes earlier. I see what they went for and thematically it worked but I just need Gabriel to be put in prison

Speaking of Gabriel, the Adrien Gabe relationship isn't as abusive as in the show. This isn't good or bad, but I still think (very unpopular opinion) the show doesn't handle abuse well at all bc the only point of the abuse is pity points in oder to get the fans to care about the characters. So taking that out of the movie where you have limited time to wrap this whole thing up might've been a smart decision

With the ending they sort of hinted at a sequel

The cut off kiss at the end. They still act like a love square kiss is something sacred that they can‘t just give their fans. Commit to it already

The stuff I didn't like:

The dialogue was… something. Marinette just asking her mom over breakfast how to make her dreams come true. Babe just just woke up, that deep convos are for late nights

Generally the dialogue in both the movie and the show is a little weird

Lika Alya‘s „people try really hard to fail as hard as you“ Marinette spilled some coffee it‘s not that hard

Even though I liked the portrayel of Marinette‘s anxiety, at times the went overboard with it

Going back to the Gabriel redemption, just let Adrien have negative feeling about Gabriel already. The s5 finale have him idolize him and here he just instantly forgives and forget

So the butterfly is a villainous tool by default? They could've fixed their messy lore but noooo

The scene where Marinette gets her miraculous feels rushed.

The way Adrien receives his miraculous. He was chilling in his room and suddenly a black cat shows up. He doesn't even have to proove himself like Mari when she almost got hit by a truck. The moment in the show was already weak but this is just fucking stupid

the first akuma was just some random dude. They should've used someone the main duo has a connection to

Chat being a lil bitch about Ladybug rejecting him. Hated it in the show, hate it here. They could've used the movie to fix Adrien and they didn't. Other than that being a dick move as so many people have explained millions of times now, I find this such a boring source of conflict for the climax of the movie? They worked well before and they both know they care for each other as partners and even if being rejected hurts, Chat acts like LB just threw their friendship away or something with how strongly he reacts to it. In the show it felt blown out of proportion and it does here as well. I think they should've had a different kind of conflict which actively hurt their partnership or Chat stops treating LB unfairly just because to her he‘s not a romantic partner.

The fart jokes. Though tbf this is a kids movie

The way Marinette falls for Adrien was extremely underwhelming. Adrien smiles at her and helps her get up and then just walks out of the library all like „she‘s so weird“. Could‘ve been fixed if he and Mari stayed in the library and had a little conversation

Also Adrien‘s introduction in general? He just chills in the library and… yeah that‘s it. I blame this on the writers of the movie cutting character introductions short because they assume the audience already knows the characters and therefore doesn‘t have to introduce them. I don‘t think that was a good choice

The Adrienette stuff was just a montage. Would've been nice to actually see them connect (though that was probably a time issue)

Also they didn't give any spotlight to Marinette's good qualities like selflessness and intelligence. Would've been nice to see her be more willing to be there for people and help them out with things as a result of her gaining more confidence

Seriously the montage was a big mistake and takes away a lot from what could've made the movie stand out

The reveal felt a lot like Adrien only loving Marinette because she's LB, which was a big reason for me to not ship Adrienette prior to the flip (not that I did after). Something like this would‘ve been believable in a setting where they didn‘t know each other as civilians I guess, but that doesn‘t work for the square. Had they actually shown Adrienette develop outside of a montage this would'be been way more believable and touching.

I think a reverse love square from the beginning would've worked better here, or they should've made the Ladynoir side canon

Adrien tells Marinette about his dead mom. Chat noir tells Ladybug about his dead mom. How does she not make the connection?

The "power of love" theme fell flat with Marinette. she doesn't have her moment of "oh I have to protect the people I love" like Tikki's dialogue suggests. There were multiple people at the theme park she could've spotted being in danger and that should've made her want to save them. Tom being there was literally the perfect set-up. The show does this with Alya being trapped under a car or something and Marinette seeing her

I also think the jump from anxious Mari to brave Mari didn't work. In both the show and the movie it just feels like she just decides to be confident now without really getting there through hard work. The motivation was there in the show (see previous point) but in both instances it just happened too fast. Let Marinette have time to really adjust to her new role

This would've worked if the movie didn't try to keep the show's formula of "villain of the week". Why are we getting a montage about that when there's already a whole ass show with five seasons where we already see that? This montage took up time that could've been used more effectively. The movie should've tried to be more of it's own thing, really shoud've tried to flesh out the characters more in a way the show doesn't. They didn't need LB and CN immediately competent and loved by the public after the theme park fiasco. Just use the run time of the movie to get adjusted to fighting crime on a weekly basis, have them fail to then fix their mistakes and learn from them. Why not do a training montage with the point of becoming better instead of flirting? The movie tries too hard to keep up the show formula and it takes away the quality the story could've had

Also in Marinette's case it felt like the only "power of love" that mattered was her partnership with Chat. Her family and friends weren't completely unimportant but definetely underutilized in that regard. Romantic love is not the only important love you know

Their powers of cataclysm and miraculous ladybug only came in at the very end. The built up could've worked if they spent more time showing how they become good and experienced heroes over time

Generally the climax was underwhelming. Gabriel learns Chat‘s identity and the damage is made undone like 10 seconds later

Adrien being like "yeah I didn't really get close to people after my mom died" what's with the Nino erasure smh

Luka wasn't important

Kagami wasn't even there

I think the end scene hinted at the sentimonster stuff and I wished they would've just not include that

Final thoughts

There are things the movie did better than the show and some things it didn't. They don't waste much time on establishing who the characters are because they expect viewers to already know that from watching the show. But like the show, they fail to use the concepts they've set up in an effective way. The movie not only tries to stay true to the show but is almost dependent on the audience knowing the series.

But yeah, the movie atmosphere was nice. Nothing extraordinary but also not super bad. It had s1 vibes and despite the problems I listed, I had a good time for the most part. Not a must watch but still fine

- Rest in Peace, Boots of Haste. You were the best running gag in Campaign 1.

- ON THE OTHER HAND, THE DEATHWALKER'S WARD IS SO FUCKING COOL!!!

- I'm glad that we got some more Vilya... Even if I don't like who's spot she took. Speaking of which...

- THEY REALLY WROTE OUT KERREK, HUH?!?! Like, I knew Gern Blanston wasn't gonna be in it for obvious reasons, but KERREK?!

RIP, Kerr Bear, you would have looked BEAUTIFUL in animation... Granted, he could still show up in Westruun, but the Pass Through Fire line was his... And now even if they bring him along, that impact is gone.

Wait, if there's no Kerrek, does that mean Keyleth doesn't get her Ring?? AND WE'RE NOT GETTING "NO FURTHER" EITHER?!

Who's gonna kill [REDACTED] then?! It can't be a team attack because of Reasons...

I now know how LotR fans who read the books feel about Glorfindel...

- Speaking of LotR, I was mad at first that Kamaljiori got Haldir'd... But then I realized he was a one-off NPC that they never used again, so maybe it was for the best. And I like the fact that Mythcarver actually does something that Scanlan is good at... Maybe he'll get more than ONE KILL with it this time around!

- Also, while we're at it, Ripley?? More involved with the Dragons? Did we ever figure out how she knew of the Vestiges in the Campaign...?

- I DON'T SEE KYNAN YET. DON'T DO MY BOY DIRTY, GUYS!!! Like, I GET that he couldn't be the same version of Kynan as in the OG, but cutting him out completely?! That's just WRONG!

- I really liked Kamaljiori's Trial MUCH more in the OG, but I'm okay with Scanlan getting a moment here! And they made the moment SO beautiful too!

- GROG DIDN'T GO SUPER SAIYAN AND I FEEL ROBBED!!!

- On the other hand, KIMALURA MOMENT!

- SPLITTING THE PARTY FEELS SO WRONG TO ME. VERY wrong! But I guess that makes sense, doesn't it? If Keyleth doesn't go to Westruun, then we don't HAVE to have Kerrek... Like, he's not even necessary as a side-character anymore.

And as for the Feywild, I guess we're not getting Grog convincing the Nymph to help them out... That hurts a bit, but it also means he won't be chasing around enemies without hitting anything in the Tree... IT ALSO MEANS WE'RE NOT GONNA GET A CHANCE FOR SCANLAN TO SING WITH BILLY BOYD. FUCK!!! I know that's not in the original, but I was holding out hope... We're also not getting the Gator moment, because Scanlan won't be there to cut them loose, so it won't feel the same...

At least everyone still gets their BIG moments, though I feel Scanlan's might be kinda diluted coming up... Although Vex and Percy's moment is gonna be GLORIOUS!

I'm glad I know thanks to the Trailer that the full party's getting together in time for the Kill Box, at least.

- IF THEY CUT SHALE SOMEBODY DIES!

- On a more positive note, Robbie and Aimee getting cameos was cool! Hopefully we get to see him play a different Genasi next time! And Aimee playing Opal too...

- I DO NOT like that they made Zahra so... Confrontational. Don't get me wrong, I understand that she and the others didn't get along at first but a BEHOLDER?!?! REALLY? HOW WAS KASH THE SENSIBLE ONE?!

- Side Note: Kash was PERFECT.

- I also noticed that they mentioned that Keyleth hasn't done her Earth trials yet either... That tells me that they're either forgoing Draconia, since no Tiberius means it wouldn't hit the same, and THAT'S where [REDACTED] will [REDACTED], OR that Tarry's gonna get more to do in Season 4, since there's really no point in going to Hell if they don't build up the Rakshasa... (They better not skip Tova!)

- Also, they changed the word for the Flying Broom! I guess "Volantir" is better than *GUTTURAL SOUNDS OF DRACONIC PHLEGM*!

- Kinda like that Raven's Slumber was a gift from Zhara, but... Where's Galdric gonna come from now? The Raven Queen's temple in Vasselheim or something? WILL WE GET TO SEE LIEV'TEL IN THE TEMPLE?! Liam said she was one of the Priestesses that met Vax!

Overall, I liked what we got! The little scenes they DID sneak in, were GREAT and Vax's visions were AWESOME! Shit, just Vax in general was awesome! (Even though he would NEVER tell Keyleth to not help her people. Even when depressed...)

Purvan felt a little more important rather than just being a name of someone from before and that little foreshadowing for "The Kill Box" from Grog was NICE!

I'm just REALLY worried about Scanlan's letter next season now... Guess we'll wait and see!

This Is The Kit & Gruff Rhys Live Show Review: 10/19, Lincoln Hall, Chicago

This Is The Kit's Kate Stables

On This Is The Kit's latest album Careful Of Your Keepers (Rough Trade), Kate Stables asks many questions without expecting answers to all of them. "When are we gonna get there, when are they?" "If we're holding hands, will we walk at the same speed?" "Boy, I'm talking to you, are you listening?" Okay, maybe that last one is easy (he's definitely not listening), but for the most part, Stables' philosophical quandaries and mantra-like repetitions are metaphors for the uneasy and paradoxical nature of relationships and time. "This is a how shit is this measuring stick," she sings, tongue twisted, on album opener "Goodbye Bite", having difficulty pinpointing exact beginning and ending points of certain eras in her life. If vagaries are the name of the game for This Is The Kit, the band's live performance last Thursday at Lincoln Hall brought to life, via instrumentation, Stables' gently agitated state.

This Is The Kit's Stables and Rozi Plain

Take "Goodbye Bite", and its concoction of sinewy guitars, bass, synth, and woodwinds: When you're listening to it, it feels like it's encircling your brain, threatening to wedge its way in. Stables, bassist Rozi Plain, guitarist Neil Smith, and drummer Lucien Chatin made sure it finally did when presented live, with a looser structure. Holding it all together, though, was Stables' voice, smoky in contrast to the wiry guitars of "Slider", seeming like it wanted to leap off the page on "Stuck in a Room", a song about wanting to leave where you are but having to stay. Stables' deft delivery sported the stamina of an MC, but over the band's taut music, it sounded like it was bursting at the seams. The elastic-rigid dynamic made its way to even old songs, like on the interplay between Stables' spritely banjo and Chatin's controlled toms on "Bullet Proof".

This Is The Kit

I should emphasize one more time: Just because Stables--and really, almost all people--has trouble quantifying abstractions like time, doesn't mean the band can't show off their tightness. On the Nick Drake lilt of "This Is When The Sky Gets Big", Stables and Plain staggered their harmonies to stunning effect. "Inside Outside" captivated with a jazzy groove. Really, the main image on "Scabby Head and Legs", that of a pigeon who holds eggs too tight and breaks them, seems like a warning signal for the band itself, who instead follow Stables' repeated advice of "cutting once, measuring twice." Yet, they break the rules when they want to, as long as they know that they're breaking the rules. Or, as Stables sings on "Dibs", "Let's pretend to not know that we're out of time."

Gruff Rhys

Though This Is The Kit's growth is certainly organic, enlisting Gruff Rhys of Super Furry Animals as producer on Careful Of Your Keepers is as natural a match as I can remember in recent memory, his experimental whimsy bringing out just enough circular strangeness to the band's sound. Lucky for us, Rhys gave an opening set on Thursday, which meant that he did come out to do backing vocals on a couple TITK songs like on the record. It also meant we got to hear some unreleased songs from his upcoming album Sadness Sets Me Free, the title track, "Bad Friend", and the already released "Celestial Candyfloss" among them. That Rhys played mostly an acoustic set meant he didn't give away what the new songs sound like on record. For one, he admitted to not knowing them very well. The finger-picked guitars on "Celestial Candyfloss" are totally overshadowed by the orchestral chamber pop of the studio version. Sure, some back catalog highlights, like "Lonesome Words" and the metronome-laden "If We Were Words (We Would Rhyme)", were not far cries from their respective studio versions. But Rhys was able to play with volume and his ever-changing distance from the microphone to create a sonic spaciousness on "Pang!" and the melancholy hum of "Shark Ridden Waters". Best, these versions may eventually see the light of day, as Rhys claimed he was recording for a live album, as he held up title cards to a surprisingly sparse crowd that said things like, "Generic audience reaction" so we knew when to cheer. He didn't have to, though. Those of us who were there knew it wouldn't be every day we'd be able to witness two forcefully creative entities on the same night: Our cheers were constant.

the new look of Sari, with her hair down and her outfit being slightly different, having her not wear her dress in the "After-Look" and she is wearing shorts instead...

there is still a reason for her eyes being purple, and why in the Cover, it shows another version of her that looks like a succubus, but with the horns, she could seem like she's a Imp & succubus hybrid in that form....

it be interesting if Vark became attached to Sari, well it isn't like Vox is the only one who can do that "zap" thing...

when it comes to Sari Sumdac Vs Alastor & Vox, the song "Angel Of The Stage" by TryHardNinja, would end up playing.

like picture her singing that song, and the boys being Alastor & Vox.

and her looking like the "After-Look" at the drawing at the bottom.

I will also be using the drawing at the bottom, as a cover for a future chapter...so both drawings will be used as covers for a fan fic...

but then I decided to add TFA into it...

and well, I am thinking of adding another series into it...

but like in a type of secondary part of the Crossover, while the other three could be the main part.

anyway, like I had pointed out in another drawing that has Sari with her hair down and with purple eyes...

Sari is 23 years old in Earthling Years...

but she is 23-Hundred Stellar-Cycles Old In Cybertronian Years, which I think I will point this out in that fan fic.

this might be a bit of a spoiler, but I already wrote about it and it's okay that not everyone reads it.

but anyway Sari's Teenage Upgrade doesn't stay forever (and she will end up aging to a teenager again, and not by that upgrade...)

so yeah, Sari helps fix the Allspark by giving it some of the Allspark energy that is in her body, and even if the Allspark is put back together, it is still not fully fixed...

so yeah when Sari uses the Allspark energy, she ends up losing her teenager form and goes back to her 8 year old self before the upgrade.

the difference being she can still go into robot mode, but it is a little kid version of her robot mode, with longer ponytails.

the current Sari (that is in that story), is now a young woman and is 23 years/23-Hundred Stellar-Cycles Old...

I think I will try to write the next chapter later or maybe tomorrow.

but since the idea is that Sari was turned back into the age she was before the upgrade, she would still have some part of the upgrade in her, which had her age in Cybertronian Years.

so that would mean she had turned 8-Hundred Stellar-Cycles in Cybertronian years, and over the years as she aged, adding to her Human Age, she would still end up being around Hundred Stellar-Cycles...

so yeah Human Age: 23 years old

and Cybertronian Age: 23-Hundred Stellar-Cycles Old.

it be funny if Ratchet went all protective Grandpa mode with Sari, like seeing how she no longer dressing in dresses all the time and has hair hair down, and well it would be interesting if he got really protective.

Megatron has no idea that she is his daughter because of that mitosis thing, and once again, Megatron is way overdue for that Hatchling Shower...

it could be either Blitzwing or Lugnut or both, who end up throwing Megatron that Hatchling Shower...

it be cute if Soundwave became protective of his big sister Sari.

I like to view the Soundwave in TFA, as being more of a "Soundwave Jr." from the one that wasn't made by Megatron.

anyway if at times I'm not on here for some weeks or right away, and not just because of my feeling not really happy because of what happen some weeks ago that has to do with a drawing I worked on.

then it can also mean I'm doing other stuff, like trying to relax, maybe doing some reading, watching a movie or show I like or maybe playing video games.

anyway there is a MLP drawing I want to post next, but I think I will wait until maybe tomorrow to do that...

I'm gonna check a few fan arts on here, and then I guess I will watch a movie later......have to decide which movie to pick.

I still want to glomp Megatron, the one who was being sassy to Solus Prime...well if I was able to that is....

that Megatron, along with EarthSpark-Megatron are gonna be on that glomp list....I'm just being weird I guess.

I wouldn't be surprised if there might be a lot of people, who had the same feelings or thoughts about Megatron, wanting to glomp him.

even though I have thoughts of wanting to glomp him, but currently I might not feel up to do such a thing right now...

I know this "Earth Angel Princess" still wants to punch Lucifer, well him and Other Male-Angels that have crossed lines they shouldn't of...and I'm not taking Archangel Samael's bull slag either, well more like I'm tired of his bull slag....he is one of the Male-Angels I don't fully trust, and there can be like only a few I might be able to trust.

and even though it is just thoughts, and I know it isn't even possible.

but even if it were, I don't think I would feel up to it at the moment either......you know, punch Lucifer....maybe on the arm, like really hard.....well him and some other Male-Angels, if it were possible.

I think after I check out some fan art on here, maybe I will go lay down and maybe sleep, that might help some.

and well maybe after that, I can watch a movie.

so yeah, maybe it could turn out that Samael isn't Cain's Dad....well Bio-Dad, but Adam is still Cain's Dad, and should be considered Cain's True Father even if he isn't his biological father...

anyway not everyone has to agree about my view about it, but try to respect it.

it makes me glad that he ain't my Dad, even if Cain is my Ancestor.

Ruthie rewatches: Season One, Episode One (part one)

Here have a stream of consciousness as I watch. Had so much to say that I'm cutting off halfway through the episode because it's taken me an hour and a half to get this far.

Ohhh the animated intro! I forgot about this. I remember first watching this and being enthralled. Fucking love the art and the transition to live action.

Baby Miles… Oh. This scene fucks me up more every time. His dad and sibling being left outside??? Let me tell you that has killed me now we have K2.

Yeah yeah Layton is already boring sorry. Do love the face he pulls at Grey though. Feel kinda bad for Grey, there's zero redemption for him he's just straight up bad guy.

Can I take a minute to appreciate the intro? I'm in love with the blueprints and I wish there existed a full version (not that that would work given the amount of disbelief we have to suspend).

What is the thing on the engine room door? I keep trying to work it out, it doesn't look like a standard W or anything.

Aw yiss boss lady emerges!

We get a shot of a jumble of paperwork on a messy desk and then the booth itself is neat and spotless. 100% the desk is Melanie's and no one can touch it but Ruth cleans the booth.

Also there's a Dell laptop. Strange mix of tech on this show and we see surprisingly little of it.

Perfectly central and still shot of Melanie in uniform. The crisps lines. The colouring. Yes.

Melanie has sensible nails. Only one possible explanation for that, clearly. Gay.

Our introduction to the train… classroom is cool but confusing. It seems the number of children is quite small and a broad age range but all the work and art seems to be primary level. There must be at least one more classroom. Third class. Tail. Watch the colour seep out of shots.

Something about measuring days since departure. I love it but surely that would be so depressing. Every day it's "everyone you know in the world died x days ago. Praise Wilford"

So we've got Josie the vet being the closest thing we have to a doctor in the Tail but here's an extra who clearly knows how to use a stethoscope. We won't ever see her again.

Why isn't Miles as bedraggled as the other kids? He's not only clean but smiley too. Layton proximity powers.

The subtrain seems set up for engineering/maintenance purposes but they talk about it later like whole swathes of people use it. Do you think it was designed like that or did people start using it as a shortcut after departure and Melanie couldn't stop it?

Okay I've gotta give it to DD his acting of a hungry man facing his favourite food is really great. I don't understand grilled cheese and tomato soup though. Shit tier food combination.

Okay so there's been debate about how Osweiller came to be a Brakeman and the consensus is he joined W security before the freeze. But the way Roche phrases it here "most of us were Wilford security. Some were… soccer players?" makes it very much seem he wasn't. Os is smart and resourceful but I so wanna know how he got in.

okay so i thought about this a tiny bit and then i got brain rot that almost kept me awake all night

haellen would 100% have a multiphase fight. phase 1 would be more of a normal human fight kinda along the lines of the vauthry fight as she's trying to supress the light warden stuff bursting out of her, some voice lines of like pleading to run. Fairly simply to dodge AoE's that do a decent amount of damage if you get hit while she kinda stumbles around the arena. ends with a bar filling mechanic as swarms of sin eaters get attracted to the super powerful sin eater being born, you kill some of the more important boys to stop the bar fully filling. and then a phase transition

she starts bloating up and more sad voice lines happen and telling you to run away. bright blinding light shoots into the sky and the screen goes white, where she used to be is this giant angelic sin eater. kinda amano-esque in the face, (cue title card and phase two: Forgiven Calamity) big wings made of weapons that are connected together with a gross wing like membrane (each of the main "Spikes" of the wings are represented by the canon classes of haellen. two staffs for cnj and blm, an axe, a gunblade, a greatsword, a weird gun amalgam, a spear, and an arrow) the design would be more human because of the fact she fought to the very end to contain it (maybe ardbert shenaniganery too helped keep her more human form) kind of a similar build to the first post EW trial boss in her second phase. she'd use two very crystalized and corrupted versions of the lux paladin weapons (Lvl 60 HW anima weapons) that have corrupted light radiating out of them (hope you like reading animations for AoE dodging)

it'd be very heavily inspired by dark gothic music with latin/operatic singing because of ishgard being her main home, with a lull in the music to play a mashup of a corrupted limsa and gridania main theme. because one is where she grew up and the other is where she spent most of her life

the attacks would also be corrupted versions of various attacks from the classes (Circle of sin normal AoE that puts a high damage dot, Holy sin is a donut aoe, Volley of sin being a line AoE where she turns to face, Sin of halone is the TB, Sinful dive being a stack marker, Light wardens paean inflicts a doom debuff on random party members Sin filled ground is an invuln if you try to LB3 her, and finally. Sinful release being the enrage mechanic)

“But I want to take a beth with him, daddy,” Cecília whined to Harry, while he undressed her, putting her new pajamas and towel on the bathroom counter.

“My little darling, he is still little, he can’t take bath with you,” Harry explained, taking Cecí on his lap and putting her inside the warm tub, handing her some of her favorite toys. “Lorenzo is just 6 months, he’s not as big as you.”

Harry made a bowl with his hands, wetting her curly hair and applying shampoo, a pout still on her face. “Please, daddy?” she said, her chubby hand grabbing his arm. Cecí had already mastered her puppy eyes technique, and she knew how much her dad had a weak spot for her.

“Alright, alright,” He finally gave in, “but he will stay outside of the tub, he doesn’t know how to sit by himself.”

“Thank you, daddy!” The girl splashed water around in excitement, which made Harry smile. That’s how he always wanted to see her: happy and healthy.

Harry went to the door, keeping an eye on the girl in the tub. “Baby? Are you done nursing? Cecí wants to see Lorenzo,” he tried to call his wife as loud as he could while being mindful of Lorenzo, who could be asleep by now. He never wanted to alarm any of him or Cecília with his loud voice.

In a matter of seconds, Y/n appeared in the hallway, a confused expression on her face while Lorenzo was calmly laying down on her arms, his little hands resting on Y/n’s shoulders. “What’s wrong? Why does she want to see him? We just had diner together,” she asked, heading in Harry’s direction.

“I’m not sure, guess she just missed him,” Harry answered, giving his wife a kiss on the forehead and bending down to talk to a very awake Lorenzo. “But who wouldn’t miss you, huh? Such a cutie, right buddy?” he was aware that using a baby voice wasn’t the best, but he couldn’t help, Lorenzo was just extremely adorable.

“Mommy! Enzo!” Cecília called, from the opposite side of the bathroom, “come here mommy, miss you too.”

Y/n sat on the bathroom floor, Lorenzo still with her. “Hey, my heart, having a good bath with daddy?” she asked at the same time Harry sat down by her side and hugged her from the side, laying his chin on her head.

“Yeah! Daddy always let me play,” Cecília took one of the yellow ducks and showed her mom, “This is Mc Duck.”

“Wow, he’s a very beautiful duck isn’t he?” She asked, giving Lorenzo to Harry while kneeling near the bathtub since Cecí still had to wash her hair, Y/n gently took the excess of shampoo from the girl’s hair, while Harry tried to keep Lorenzo entertained by singing him a silly song.

“He is, I love yellow,” the little girl admitted, “I think Lorenzo loves yellows too.”

“And why do you think that, Cecí?” Harry asked amused while pretending to eat the boy’s fingers.

“Because we’re are best friends,” She said as if the answer was obvious, “and friends like the same things.” Y/n and Harry looked at each other and laughed, for a five-year-old girl she knew a lot about relationships.

“Oh, how do you know that?” Y/n asked, finishing washing her hair, letting Cecília enjoy her time in the bath.

“Because you and daddy are best friends, you wear the same clothes sometimes, listen to the same music, and watch the same movies,” with every new topic she would count down on her fingers, it was quite a comical sight.

Harry’s chuckle filled the room, the baby on his lap giggled too. “Well, my little lady, you are right. But friends can also like different things, too,” he told her. “Me and mommy like a lot of similar things, but we also have our preferences.”

“Exactly, daddy loves bananas, but I don’t” y/n complemented, getting Cecília out of the tub, helping her into some warm clothes, “I don’t like to work out, but your dad always wakes up early to go for a run, see? We like different things but we still love each other.”

Harry got up from the floor, rocking Lorenzo softly, his heavy eyes indicating how sleepy the baby was. He took the combing cream in his hand and began combing Cecília’s curls with one hand, while his other arm held Lorenzo. Being a father of two made him very talented at doing two things at the same time. While he did that, Y/n was getting Cecí’s toothpaste ready.

“Daddy, do you love mommy even if she doesn’t go running with you?” Cecí asked, before opening her mouth so Y/n could brush her teeth. Normally they would let Cecília do it by herself, with their supervision, but it was already late and the couple desperately needed to get the children to bed, or else their routine would be messed up. Good thing Lorenzo seemed to be falling asleep already.

“Of course I do! We don’t love people just because they do the same things we do, we love people because they are kind and respectful to us, yeah?” Harry said, looking at Y/n and blowing her a kiss. This is what he loved the most about parenthood: watching the kids growing into their best version.

Parenting was made in many different ways, but the couple especially loved having these kinds of conversations. Even though Cecília was still young, she was already beginning to comprehend what love and friendships were, and Harry and Y/n had the privilege to teach her that.

Harry finished her hair, putting the brush and the products in their place under the sink while Y/n put on some socks on Cecí’s feet, the little girl was yawning, seeming tired. Lorenzo started to fussy on Harry’s arms.

“Guess it’s time to sleep, huh?” Harry said, caressing Cecílias head, “Tired, my baby? Want daddy to read a bedtime story to you? Or do you want mommy?” At the same time he mentioned Y/n, Lorenzo started to soft cry. “Hey, what’s wrong?” Harry asked, looking down at the upset’s baby face.”

Y/n took his from Harry’s arms, cuddling him closer to her chest, “What do you want, Enzo? Mommy just fed you” she looked at her husband, “I’ll nurse him again on the bed, he’s probably just a bit agitated, will you put her to sleep?”

“Yeah, of course.”

The woman kissed Cecília on the forehead, “have a good night, ok, baby? Mommy will take you to the playground tomorrow, alright?”

“Ok mommy, I love you and little bro too,” she said, giving a hug to her mom before she disappeared through the door with the crying baby.

Harry took Cecília by her small hand, leading them to her room, just by the side of the main suite, where the couple slept. He guided the little girl to her bed, giving her all of her favorite stuffed animals, and covered Cecília in her Lilac duvet.

“What story do you want today?

“The pirate one, please,” she asked, laying her head on the pillow as Harry went to her bookshelf, picking the one with the title Pirate’s cove. He sat by the end of the bed and began telling the story.

“I have a story for you, a story of untold riches and a young lad who found them. And who am I, you ask? Well, I am the spirit of the sand-dollar, a pirate and a buccaneer, Captain of the seahorse, the finest ship to ever sail the seven seas…”

Harry would occasionally stop to answer any questions Cecília had, but after 15 minutes he was done with the book and the girl was fast asleep, hugging tight to her little lamb. He made sure she was tucked in and turned off the lights (besides the one on the side of Cecília’s bed, she was scared to sleep in a pitch-black room), he closed the door and headed to his bedroom.

To Harry’s surprise, Lorenzo was sleeping in his bassinet by the side of the mattress. He usually would sleep in his nursery, but today just seemed like an off day to the little boy. Harry got closer to him, stroking the chubby cheeks, “Oh my little bug, did mommy let you sleep here with us? You’re not feeling fine?”

“I think he’s teething,” Y/n said in a raspy voice, taking her head from the pillow, “he’s even a bit warmer than usual, I think his gums are itching.”

“My poor baby,” Harry mumbled, turning his head to Y/n, “I hate seeing him upset, maybe we could make some homemade Popsicle, it helped when Cecília was teething.”

“Yeah, we can try that, we can make them tomorrow.” she patted the mattress, “now please come to bed, he did a number on me, I’m so tired.”

“Alright baby,” Harry took off his shirt, standing only in sweatpants, he went to the bed, laying by Y/n side, one arm hooked on her waist as she cuddled to him, placing her head on his shoulder.

“I’m so lucky to have you,” Y/n said against his neck.

“Oh baby, I am the lu--”

“--I mean, how many husbands would still love their wives even if they wouldn’t go jogging at 6 in the morning?” she said teasingly, her giggles reaching his ear.

He rolled his eyes playfully, “you are making a lot of jokes for someone who is tired,” he kissed her temple. “I’m gonna wake you up at 5 am tomorrow, so we can be fitness together.”

“Don’t you dare! You do that and your plan of being a father to three it’s over.”

“Damn sweetheart, that’s not very nice, huh?”

“You’re the one who started,” she said, before closing her eyes, snuggling to Harry’s body. The man placed a hand on her belly, falling asleep minutes later.

Random Hanadan/BoF Shitpost

After hearing that Love in Flames of War, a republican era cdrama had Hana Yori Dango/Boys Over Flowers/ Meteor Garden/ F4 vibes... but eventually failed to deliver on that front I rambled at @dangermousie​ that, actually, we SHOULD have a Hanadan version of every genre of cdrama.

 No...wait...I’m joking...but also not. My reasoning for this is solid:

 1) No matter what you thing of Hanadan and all it’s objectively toxic and dated glory, you can’t deny it is a hallmark in the history of shoujo manga/anime/asian drama/ live action adaptation/remake pumping machine. It paved the way for all the ItaKiss, Fated to Love You, etc...and it is still to this day a nostalgia magnet for an easy cash grab with each remake (also the latest one might be the best lol).

 2) *Surrender by Cheaptricks plays in the background, talks in “there is no war in ba sing se” mode* There are no new ideas in media. Everything is a sequel, prequel, remake, reboot, retelling, soft reboot, parody, homage, the same thing over and over again but call it by another name (it’s still a rose, yeah Shakespeare, you’re a genius, congrats!).

 3) Let’s face it. Dramaland is going through the lowest of lows. So, they might as well try Every Hanadan Set Everywhere all at Once.

 So, without further ado, introducing...every genre of Cdrama Hanadan (with crazy plot eggs for some and none for others bc I say so):

Starting with contemporary…

1)      Reverse hanadan where the fl is a rich asshole and the ml a poor little meow meow

2)      Time loop hanadan

3)      Modern Fantasy hanadan (sort of like the beginning of Bulgasal but more petty and less angsty lol)

4)      Transmigration low budget web drama romcom hanadan

5)      *barfs* modern office corporate romance hanadan

6)      *barfs again* gaming hanadan

7)      Sports hanadan (aka if HanaKimi wasn’t genderbender or cute but toxic instead)

8)      Coming of Age/ Youth to Adult Married life Hanadan 

Syke! Too late! There is already an OG classic toxic Hanadan of this Genre, it’s called Itazura na Kiss (and it’s my guilty pleasure, my personal hanadan lol)

9)      Ice sports hanadan....yesss...get gory with the bullying with ice skating blades muahahaha. The red card locks her on the ice rink and they oil the railings/plexiglass around it so she can't even climb out and she nearly freezes to death. They rope her to the back of a zamboni and drag her through the ice. While she is trapped on the ice rink, they rig a bucket of water to fall over her so she freezes faster.

Now for the period dramas…

10)   Republican Era hanadan

They could use the boat scene ending from the finale of the anime as a convenient plotpoint to escape the republican era without dying in the republican turmoil. "Oh, they just reunited dramatically on a boat post amnesia and went abroad together and missed all the political fatal shit and lived happily ever after. Their kids returned to China and lived happily under the great CCP rule (/s)!

11)   Palace hanadan

It’s hanadan meets legend of Ruyi where he is the Crown Prince but the Empress Dowager holds all the power and on some humiliation move has him take a barbarian slave as a concubine...and the red card is that it's open season on her from every noble or regular consort of his harem and his friends in the court...all is fair the only rule is she cannot be murdered, everything else is fair game. So she is beating to the brink of death, poisoned daily with agonizing pills only to be given antidotes at the last minute, drowned, flayed, etc.

12)   Wuxia hanadan. Similar. Dude is the leader of the jianghu, declares her a demon bc she offended him and has all the pretentious righteous sects go after her with agonizing Gus pushed on her body, plenty of chains, kebab her in multiple ways with stakes in torture chambers to cast out the evil.

13)   BL Wuxia hanadan. (this one is just here by popular demand. Mine. No, I will not elaborate on that).

14)   And at last…my personal favorite….drum rolls… Xianxia hanadan (here is the plot):

She spilled peach wine on his cloud robes once by accident before the Great Heaven's Ceremony so he scribed her name carelessly on the stone of the doomed as petty revenge hoping she'd get some bad karma. But at the time the Demon Overlord was fighting the Lord of Fate and the Dijun on Kunlun and as they made their final strike the demon overlord turned into a cloud of heavy miasma that swirled away swiftly for miles and landed on the stone of the doomed. Hence, for the next 10.000 years the calamities and heavenly tribulations of every god were transferred into the unlucky FL.

In the first 300 years, the gods were unsure of what was happening, but soon word spread of a small menial demigoddess who seemed to be getting an abnormal amount of calamities and trials and yet never ascended into a higher level god. But other gods were getting past their fated tribulations dates without experiencing the event itself but still ascending afterwards. Soon this bizarre phenomenon was being gossiped throughout all the heavenly realms and the gods were rushing to get their hands on every magical item capable of moving forward their tribulation dates... After all, who knew how long this free meal would last? So it follows that our female lead spent the next 10.000 overbooked from torturing calamity to the next without a break or a reward.

Our cloud cloaked protagonist came to learn of this business about 500 years into it. It was not his intention for the karmic payback to be that harsh...but then again it was his best cloud vest that the annoying, insignificant little demigoddess had ruined...and if the consequences had been that rough, who was he to question the Great Design. He soon forgot all about it, surely none of that pesky matter would come back to bother him...

10.000 later: Our fuming fl finally had enough...after experiencing every form of dismemberment as a human, for eons, though she didn't collect an ounce of heavenly grace to ascend to higher goddess....she sure damn well accumulated enough yin to form a monumental grudge...and she would use all of that energy into one single punch for a certain cloud clothed god that would send him so high the gods would finally know what lies above the heavenly realm...not that he'd get the opportunity to tell the tale.

127 version | this has been on my mind for a bit and I wanted to write it down- these will consist of confirmed facts and then my own thoughts. the latter part is, as it sounds, strictly from my opinion and observation and may well not be accurate. this is just for fun! proceed~

mark lee:

confirmed: likes someone with long black hair who is nice (on air nct show)

my thoughts:

he moved to korea to train when he was like 13 and has been busy as a bee ever since. I don’t know his life but I feel like he hasn’t really had the chance to date much if at all yet. this brings me to think he would prefer someone who can lead in the relationship

he grew up christian and seems to still hold those ideals. although if he really liked someone it wouldn’t be an issue, this makes me think he would be drawn to someone with similar ideals

he laughs a lot and gets along well with people who are funny (haechan, yuta, jungwoo). I think that he would like someone with a good sense of humor

he doesn’t spend money lavishly and prefers to use what he has (i.e. the jansport backpack, not having youtube premium, keeping all the gifts he receives in his bag). all of this points to him preferring someone modest and not wasteful

mark got jisung a bracelet that costs over $1000 for his birthday (what a good bro I’m cry). he likes songs like ‘I got you’ by Bazzi (mark superm quarantine playlist) which is about spoiling a girl. this all makes me think that although he is frugal for himself, he likes spoiling others and would like to spoil his significant other

From Japan official book vol 1, mark said he wasn’t sure what his ideal first date would be, but he answered that it would be to go to a restaurant and have a good meal because he likes eating. So someone who’s down for simple dates and perhaps also good at cooking (because our boy can’t even make an egg)

From the same magazine, he said he doesn’t care about fashion and would like his partner to “wear what she likes”. Doesn’t seem like he goes for style much!

huang renjun:

my thoughts:

I strongly feel like he would want to feel like the ‘man in the relationship’. he would want to feel protective over his partner and that’s why I think he would adore someone smaller than him

he’s full of chaotic rage energy (in the cutest way that would never actually hurt anybody). to balance out these vibes, renjun would match well with someone calm and sweet

looks-wise besides being a petite person, I can envision someone very cute, probably with shorter, un-dyed hair

renjun is into sci-fi movies and shows and confirmed he believes in aliens (weekly idol). I think he’d be drawn to someone with a big imagination who likes sci-fi as well

lee jeno:

jeno is really really shy (when he met yeeun from clc to mc together, they said they couldn’t even talk at first because it was so awkward). I think jeno would like someone more outgoing but not overwhelming

I feel like his ideal type is literally like renjun- a little fiesty and literally, little. jeno has mentioned that he loves renjun’s voice too, so perhaps he would be interested in someone with a nice voice

he works out a lot and likes physical activities like biking and going to the gym. I think he’d like someone who values fitness and health too

he loves animals and has 3 cats of his own despite being allergic. because of this, I think he’d like a person who loves animals too

lee haechan:

my thoughts:

he’s so extroverted and craves attention from whoever he’s around, and that wouldn’t be an exception for the person he likes. he’d want someone who looks up to him and gives him attention

he’s still really young and even enjoys movies like the kissing booth (I’m sorry I had to bring it up because I think it’s important). ignoring the actual bad parts of that movie, I think he’s interested in that young love, dancing together at the arcade, kissing in the rain, come over to his house in secret, type relationship

haechan seems to be especially close friends with foreign swaggers line (mark, johnny, jaehyun) so I’m thinking that perhaps he likes the western vibe

during oshiete Japan, he and Yuta were the only ones who chose to give three roses to a hypothetical ‘lover’ (they had to choose between 4 types of roses to give). the psychologist said that this means haechan is “flirty and attention-seeking” which makes a lot of sense. this adds to my point that he would like someone who gives him a lot of attention and good reactions
