I’ve come to expect a lot from Jorge Rivera-Herrans and the rest of the EPIC: The Musical cast, but physically going to Ithaca was something I never expected.

TLDR: Telemachus always sings high energy and doesn’t really change his energy level through the entire saga, while Antinous feels like he’s holding back. And though it may be unintentional, I think that’s fun characterization and fun contrast between the two characters

I don’t know if it’s intentional or just the way the singer does things, but I noticed Telemachus carries the same amount of energy through singing. Sometimes singers will start off chill or neutral and then hype up as the song goes on, but Telemachus, at least in Legendary, always keeps the same amount of energy through the entire song. Even as he sings the last verse, the music is softer and he’s singing slower, but it’s the same amount of energy as the beginning and middle and everything. The only time it’s any less is in “Little Wolf” when he goes “I don’t know how” but other than that, he’s usually evenly high energy throughout the entire saga.

This is contrary to Antinous who, again maybe it’s the singer himself, feels like he’s holding back. It’s strong, don’t get me wrong, it’s epic and so cool, but there are some moments like the second “wanna be a man then” before going into “die little wolf, die” where it sounds like his voice is almost wavering, not wanting to be too loud or powerful. 

I don’t know if this was intentional or not, or if this is opinion based and it’s just me and my  interpretation when hearing the songs. But I think maybe it’s a good reflection of the characters. In contrast, showing Antinous doesn’t care and doesn’t see Telemachus as a threat, so he’s chill and doesn’t get hyped up because he feels like he doesn’t need to waste energy on Telemachus. He’s just a little guy that doesn’t know what he’s doing.

While Telemachus still has that spirit inside him, a childlike personality so he’s always energetic and hyped up. He also doesn’t really have much grasp or control of himself and who he is, so he just attacks with everything he’s got, everything with one hundred percent and tries his best and pushes himself past what he can handle in hopes to live up to his father’s legacy. 

Again, maybe it’s just the singers style, maybe it’s a personal thing that only I hear, maybe it was unintentional, maybe it’s a mistake, either way, I like this little feature and little bit of characterization.

Epic The Wisdom Saga Ranking:

SO I really loved this saga so here's my ranking and if you guys want to, you can add it your list by rebloging as well!

1: Little Wolf: Just from the start with Antinous being cold and vicious, Aryon killed it as always, I thought it would just be a long fight of Tele vs Antinous until it would end with either Penelope or Athena (perhaps both saving him in the last moment) But I was genuinely surprised to see Athena appear and aid Telemachus, also their dynamic is cute, and the animation, Liam Davidson delivered it with the videogame aspect of it and Luzia coming with the absolute beautiful animation and expressions, especially Telemachus, and Teagan just throws it out of the park here, I really love her voice that she has been doing since the rereleased Troy/Cyclops Saga albums and how it goes from a Tele getting his ass kicked, to Tele getting some aid but still getting beat up, while leaving some bruises to Antinous and how the Little Wolf taunt was more used like a compliment.

2: Love in Paradise: I would have thought this was gonna be like at the bottom (not in terms of bad, but just not quite top tier) first off the Time-Dive by Mircsy was absolute mind-blowing, from Aeolus, to Poseidon which I really liked because of how quick the "Ruthlessness is mercy upon ourselves" to Circe, Tiresias, Sirens, Scylla which has a really cool shot! and then ending with Thunder Bringer, then we have Gigi! her animation was amazing as always, we get introduced to Calypso who is played by the wonderful Barbara Wangui! she sounds so fun and playful but I like the general creepy vibes given to Calypso, then the cliff scene this absolutely shocked me then I remembered it was accurate to how Homer's Odysseus felt almost sucidial during his time on Ogygia, the belting Jorge lets out, letting out every single part of Odysseus's anguish before screaming for Athena, absolutely gut-wrenching it almost made me tear up

3: We'll Be Fine: I love this song so much, the absolute feels you can feel from Teagan's Athena, the guilt she feels that she can't even sleep, also noticed some lyrics were changed like "When I'll never left home shores" which I find intriguing, the growing friendship between Tele and Athena is just so wholesome and love the ending with him trying to lean his head on her shoulder then falling on his face lmao

4: Legendary: This was absolutely a great start, MICO as Telemachus was absolutely incredible and very proud of how he portrayed Telemachus, nice that Argos is shown following (sad that he was failing to catch Tele because he's a very old dog who's sick) a perfect song to show how a son wants to live up to his father that he never got to meet, the "Man of The House" callback with the suitors and Antinous being an absolute asshole, "DON'T YOU DARE CALL MY MOTHER A TRAMP" from Tele was delivered so well, showing how much respect and protectiveness he has for his mama.

5: God Games: Honestly I would have thought this was going to be at least at the top 1 or 2 for the list, obviously everyone did great, Brandon as Apollo was amazing, love how nonchalant he seemed, wish his part was a bit more longer (but he is LVL1, so it makes sense in video game terms) Hephaestus was quite good, Jorge's dad did amazing and the fact he's also a builder is very ironic, I was quite fine with his part being short because if the "Odysseus took Achilles's armour that Hephaestus specifically made for Achilles" because EPIC doesn't stay too long on the Trojan War (besides references and callbacks etc etc) Janani K. Jha and Earle Grensham Jr did SO GOOD as Ares and Aphrodite, love the fact that Aphrodite's love domain isn't just romantic or lustful love, it's motherly love as well, then we have POSEY as Hera!, love the disco music part of Hera's music, also Anniflamma's animation was so cute and funny! with Athena awkwardly dancing along with Hera, then we have Zeus's part.... alright first off Luke Holt POPPED OFF on this one, his voice was so intimidating here then in Thunder Saga or Troy Saga, the "Thunder Bringer" being brought back with that deep tone he brought in, but I do have some criticism which is I wish Zeus had more words to say, also did not like how he came off like a sore loser (he can be that in the myths sometimes) But I thought it more off like he was actually ashamed of Athena trying so hard to defend this "man full of shame" which in my opinion makes me think that he also felt shame was gonna be brought upon him for the fact The King of Gods's daughter basically going all this way to free one mortal man, besides that I love the small flashback with Athena and baby Telemachus which shows how determined that she is not only doing this for Odysseus, but for his son, then the end was okay, nice to see Ares was genuinely concerned for her, same for the other gods and it ending with Athena being unconscious (also the red blood is kinda explained as her becoming more human by Gwendy who did the last animation for God Games) still like the song but wished it was more longer

admittedly i haven’t listened yet to the previous sagas, so i don’t really know the lore BUT i intend to sit down and listen to them all very soon. also as a fair warning i don’t know shit about mythology so if i don’t know people please go easy on me 🥹

Legendary: i love the beat so much and the chime-y melody! Telemachus just wants to save his mom, from who??? the lil high note, Miguel Veloso is SO TALENTED and i love him. amico forever <3 what a good introduction to his character

Little Wolf: is this the same guy that insulted Telemachus’ mother? and it seems Telemachus gets some powers from Athena! is he part wolf or is this a metaphor haha. the piano is very nice and Athena has such a beautiful powerful voice omg?? Is that Teagan? and again Miguel coming in with the range! I’m getting the idea that Telemachus is rather young and possibly was close to another great hero, and wants to live up to that

We’ll Be Fine: i had to listen to this twice cause DAMN i want to know who Athena’s old friend was! She very obviously feels guilty. the harmonies, the piano, the emotion from both Teagan and Miguel!! i’m so proud of Telemachus for defeating what i assume is the aforementioned guy from Little Wolf? I have to think Telemachus is very young “You’re a good kid.” “Thanks!” made me laugh he’s very adorable. it’s giving young hercules vibes when he defeated his first ‘bad guy’ lol! I love the way the music changed from Athena, strong and stoic and beautiful. To Telemachus, more cheerful and optimistic and almost sweeter in a childish way, and then the mix of them together, like he’s giving Athena hope. and again, Teagan and Miguel’s harmonies gave me chills oh my GOD

Love in Paradise: Athena with Odysseus??? He’s the one that turned bad??? The ocean ambience is so sweet, was that a dream sequence? And who’s Penelope??? WHO WASHED UP ON THE BEACH??? And WHAT IS CALYPSO DOINNN she fiending lmfao Penelope’s man (Odysseus?) must be hottt! The overlapping singing always gets me it’s so good every time. The ethereal vibe at the end, turning more unsettling, until he calls out for Athena? so good! AND SHE HEARD HIM??? omg omg

God Games: Athena asking for her dad’s help must be a big deal, and all to save Odysseus. so now Athena has to convince a bunch of other gods to save him. i’m enjoying how each god has their own motif and music style. Apollo’s is especially cute with the strings. Aphrodite’s actress has an amazingly sweet voice. Athena is MAD at Ares for bashing his name i seem to think she thinks of him as more than a friend… and Hera’s jam is so fun omg. Poor Athena did she get imprisoned or injured for trying to help Odysseus?? Is Telemachus going to assist her?? I NEED TO KNOWWW

All in all it’s very good, production is astounding and all the singers play their parts so well!!! I’m definitely looking forward to learning more about the plot, and i can’t wait to see what Telemachus does next <3

This is the 2005 Christmas Station ID of GMA. The Christmas Station ID was themed “Kapuso, Ikaw ang Star ng Pasko”

The Christmas Station ID Theme was sung Martin Nievera, Sharon Cuneta, Gary Valenciano, Pops Fernandez, Ogie Alcasid and Regine Velasquez featuring the Christmas Carollers from GMA and the original cast from the TV5 sketch comedy show Goin’ Bulilit. Somehow, The Christmas Station ID was shortened due to the video. Somehow, Starting in December 1, 2005, The song “Star ng Pasko” can be heard in DZBB Radyo 594 and various radio stations nationwide where it was extended. Somehow, This Christmas Station ID occurred before Ogie Alcasid and Regine Velasquez’s wedding in December 30, 2005 which was 1 day before Ogie Alcasid’s birthday.

Luckily, Martin Nievera creates a portal that could transport other crew members into other dimensions.

Somehow, Arcee Muñoz, Alice Dixson, Tuesday Vargas, Ritz Azul, Eula Caballero, Aga Muhlach, Geoff Eigenmann, Gabby Eigenmann and Willie Revillame may have moved to TV5 in 2005. But Ryan Agoncillo, Jose Manalo, Wally Bayola and IC Mendoza may have moved to ABS-CBN in 2005.
