You see him at a distance. Sitting in a comfy chair by the window, watching the sunset in silence.

It will do him good to see you, that's what Izuku had said. But he forgot to mention how it was going to do you no good.

Bakugou Katsuki looks so in peace right at this moment, you're not sure you want to get closer. You're not sure you want to disrupt that peacefulness. It's so rare to see him so relax, so quiet, you don't want to cause him any trouble. Even if it breaks your heart.

He's been asking for you... sometimes, that's what Izuku had said. He sometimes remembers you. But that sometimes makes you wish he wouldn't at all.

You take one, two, three steps closer, and he turns his head because he heard you, his Hero reflexes as sharp as ever. His eyes, ruby eyes that had always held an intensity that made your knees weak for him, look at you up and down. His eyebrows frown and ah, this is not a good day.

"Who the fuck are you and who let you in?" He barks, and your heart breaks.

You look down at your hands, you don't really want him to see how much his words hurt you. You don't want him to see how much you need him back. You don't want him to see how desperate you're for him to remember you.

"Ah, I'm sorry, I got the wrong room," your voice trembles, you're sure he notices, but you don't look back up at him as you turn over your heels and walk back to the door. You don't run, but fuck, you want to get out of there as fast as you can.

Your hand grabs the doorknob as he suddenly gasps, "Y/N?"

You freeze as everything around you. He said your name. Bakugou Katsuki, the love of your life, after two years, says your name once again. You're afraid to turn around. Afraid the it's just your fucking mind playing with you and your feelings. Afraid that when you look at him, there's only going to be a stare that shows how the love of your life doesn't even know who the fuck you are. Still, you turn around. Because, hell, your heart can't be broken anymore when it's barely there, when it only functions because you're alive but you don't live. You can't live without him. You're just surviving.

"Y/N..." He gasps once again and this time you find the courage to look at him.

He's standing, hands closed in fists but you can clearly see hes trying to hold back their trembling, his eyes are filled with unshed tears that he's holding back. And he looks broken. Just like you.

Your tears are rolling down your cheeks as you look at him. There's recognition in his eyes. He knows who you are, and that hurts even more than when he doesn't.

You close your eyes and can't avoid the sob that leaves your mouth when a pair of familiar arms surround you. His smell is the same, sweet like apples and vanilla, but strong like sandalwood and sparks. All him.

"Shh, it's okay... I'm here," he cries, kissing your head as your hands grab his hospital shirt.

"For now," you cry and he holds you tighter.

Because he knows and you know that it won't last long. It never lasts long. He's here for a minute...and then he's gone for days.

"FUCK," he swears crying, before backing away enough to just hold your face in his hands, so you look at him in the eyes. "I'm not fucking giving up, I'm fucking fighting it... I will fight it til I fucking win, you hear me?"

His forehead presses against yours, tears flowing like an unstoppable cascade. You sometimes wonder if cascades aren't just that, nature crying, sobbing a torrent of desperate pleas.

Because fuck you feel like one. An immense torrent of pleas to whatever exists up there to give you back your husband.

"I know you are..." You smile at him, your hands now traveling up towards his face and caressing his cheeks as sweetly as you're able, making him close his eyes and enjoy your touch, "And I'm always going to be here waiting for you."

And that's a promise.

Doesn't matter how long it takes, you'll wait for him. You'll wait until the day he finally heals and comes back to you.

AU where the whole Book of Bill and the backstory doesn't change at all, but instead of just putting bill into space therapy, the AXOLOTL also creates...uh.

This guy.

Not a twin, not a second chance, not a reincarnation.

This Bill, or "Nick" (chosen by Mabel because he's got a nicked side from le punch) is more of a "what couldve been" alternate created for the purpose of being a test or an example for the real bill. Everything Bill was SUPPOSED to develop personality wise before the collapse of his dimension...but with his memories sill intact from that moment. It's not a restart and memory loss thing, but more of a coping and learning to heal, starring the Pines family losing their minds over what seems like o be a lookalike of the evil dorito man.

Again....his only purpose was to show the real Bill what could have been, if his coping methods weren't as....unhinged and destructive. So he wasn't intentionally supposed to be a long-term friend or anything to the town of Gravity Falls.

....but things change.

Nick is nervous, anxious, uses humor to cope, and a bit mischevious (bit of the og Bill there), but takes out his trauma/guilt on art and creating instead of destructive tendencies. He frequently likes to throw up murals and run off.

He has multiple self-care issues. Just in general because of his memories and because of his fractured physical state.

He had to do a LOT of work to gain the Pine's trust. Obviously. but he would definitely get along with Mable and, though it would take a lot more time, Dipper. Because....Dipper. The Book of Bill really showcased how pissed Dipper was with Bill's actions.

The Pines don't like to call him Bill because...bad association with that name. Hence the name Nick, because they kinda think its not REALLY bill. just a less fucked up version

His powers are limited and fractured due to being an altered form. He can't levitate, warp reality, or be considered immortal. however, he still IS Bill Cipher....so all that may be buried in there somewhere.

The thing that kills me about dca and robots in general, is that no matter how hard they try, they will never be able to relate to an experience of having a childhood.

They were brought into this world for a reason, for a specific purpose and their only function is to follow it. They have a motherboard without really knowing what the "mother" part of it means.

You were born knowing nothing? You were a blank canvas? You grew your knowledge and vocabulary and experience slowly with age? They wonder how that must've felt.

Are they even allowed to wonder, how could it be, to be able to choose your purpose? To be able to pursue the horizon if you want to do so. To be a canvas, and if you don't like the painting, to cover it up and start over.

No, no. They are no canvas. Circuit boards don't work that way. You erase, you rewrite. No layers, no wait time. You exist as you are or you don't exist at all.

Their future is determined by whoever knits the very strict lines of code into their system.

Your future is determined by you. Unlimited. You hold the brush.

POV: Draco forgets who he is for a moment and one of the first things he does is fall in love with Hermione, despite what his housemates say about her. On the other hand, Theo thinks it'll be a good idea to encourage Draco to ask her out. So he does😗😗

She hears him before she sees him. By now she knows what he sounds like, but today seems different.

Turning to face the sleazy ferret, she's surprised when met by a bouquet of roses.

Behind is—even more shocking—a blushing Draco Malfoy.

"H-hello," he stutters and her brain short-circuits. "Forgive my intrusion, but I was wondering if-if I could have you with me?"

What?

"What?" She voices faintly, though he still hears.

"S-sorry, I mean— It's just... you're really... pretty, and I wanted to know if you'd want to be with me—"

Hermione stops listening. Around them, people watch, not for the spectacle, but to poke fun at her. Laughing at how, for once, a boy is actually interested in her.

And not just any boy. Draco Pureblood Malfoy.

At that, she snaps. The blush she acquired when he called her pretty turned to one of embarrassment and increased in shade because instead of growing angry, she tears up in sorrow.

Malfoy had gone too far.

"...would you mind accompanying me on a stroll," is what she hears next right before she finds her voice.

"Can you stop?" Each of her words crack and Malfoy's loving smile and flowers drop at the sight of her tears.

Then he comes near. Nearer than he ever did.

"I'm sorry!” He rushes to apologise. His arms are open like he wants to hug her. "I didn't mean to offend! I-I—"

No other explanation follows but he sounds as if he feels her pain and genuinely wants her to stop crying.

She scoffs inwardly. He was getting too good at lying.

Seeing as she's been shamed enough, and not wanting to cry in front of an audience, she pushes Malfoy to the side and runs, ignoring the sea of teasing "Ooooh"s by the crowd and the blonde git's pleas for her to wait.
