i thought about just how much siffrin cares for the party even though he’s dogshit at actively verbalizing it and i feel like throwing up about it

unlike most vaugardian citizens who have multiple first names and one last name, siffrin has one first name and four last names

my silly isat headcanon is that vaugarde DOES have swear words other than crab, it's just the party trained themselves out of saying the other ones when bonnie joined them. crab is the one swear word they allowed themselves to keep As A Treat and it's one of the more mild ones on par with like, damn. our feeble minds could not handle the true vaugardian equivalent of fuck or cunt or the like.
#also consider: mirabelle didn't really have the harsher swears in her vocabulary to begin with#isabeau stopped using them as soon as he met her because he thinks they make her uncomfortable#and siffrin fully forgets they exist most of the time#odile however? worst potty mouth of the four until bonnie showed up#cusses fluently in at least three languages#isat#not mine#q

So I've seen a few different takes on a "Siffrin as the King's evil minion" AU, which is fun, because I love AU fic and villains.
What I've noticed, though, is that they all go with the angle of villain!Siffrin as being very beaten down by the King and too caught up in the trauma and lies to resist him.
And while that does make sense- it's not exactly a stretch to say that "unhealthy" is the only kind of relationship you can have with the King at this point, considering how he is in canon- I feel like there's another angle that could be fun to explore here.
(Not a healthier angle, mind you, just one that's fucked up in a different way.)
Please consider: an AU where we take that sheer reality-warping obsessive desperation to Not Be Alone Again that canon Siffrin already has, and have the King discover a little too late that he might actually be in over his head, and may now no longer control his minion as well as he thought he did.
See, given that the King's curse is undone in canon when he himself gets frozen by his own attack, it's plausible that he wasn't planning on allowing himself to be frozen in time.
Meaning that if he does still want AU!Siffrin to submit to the curse when their job is done, they'll be frozen... without him. Alone.
And they can't accept that, can they? He promised them eternity. A king should keep his promises.
They'll make sure of it.
Turns out manipulating your traumatized, desperately lonely subordinate by convincing him that you're all he'll ever have may potentially backfire if he starts thinking that he might lose you too! Who knew.

I think Loop should let Bonnie get away with even more shit than Siffrin does. I think Loop teaches Bonnie how to steal real good and gets in SO much trouble when Bonnie gets caught and spills who taught them.

Just for fun: fairy tale-esque AU where, despite Mirabelle's blessing not really being from the Change God, the party actually does have a patron deity giving them a hand!
It's Siffrin.
Siffrin, Loop, and our poor unlucky Start Again comics-protag are the three aspects of the god of time, representing the past, present, and future- think the three Fates or the Norns, but as a trio of twinks who think they're funny.
I think the three of them were stronger once, maybe, but when the Northern Island vanished they were wiped out of memory along with it, and so were most of their worshippers, so that was uhhhhhh Very Not Good for them, as a deity.
Add in how excited and hopeful they'd be to find one of their people still alive and safe, how many red flags they might be willing to ignore for the sake of their desire to have a mortal to care for and protect again... I think maybe in this AU the King managed to get Time Craft powers by somehow tricking them into letting him get close enough to betray them and steal that power from them.
(I'm going to say that said betrayal may have also involved taking comics-Frin and physically carving their heart out to steal said power. Probably also eating it. Because I love an uncomfortably visceral metaphor-made literal and I'm not sorry about it.)
(Whatever's left of our poor unfortunate middle-child/the Aspect of the Present afterwards is now haunting the House and may resemble Mal du Pays suspiciously well.)
Afterwards, their strength is even further diminished, but they're very determined to get revenge on the King and stop him from doing more damage with their stolen power. And wouldn't you know it, there's a party of daring heroes already on the case, just perfect for a bit of friendly divine intervention to help them along!
I think giving the party a really major blessing- like, just to pick a random example, being able to rewind time if one of them dies- that takes enough power that it leaves the Aspect who gives it weakened to the point of being almost human. I'm picturing Loop and Siffrin flipping a coin to see who has to bite the bullet and give up their power for their chosen mortals.
(May or may not involve Siffrin voluntarily having Loop cut out their heart to give to the party, for fun parallels.)
Loop is probably a bit passive-aggressive with the rest of the party in this, because they're protective of Siffrin and don't want to see them hurt even more.
(They gave you their heart, heroes. Don't break it.)

Bonnie: I would let a Raccoon do surgery on me. Have you seen their little hands? Those gremlins would give me a heart transplant for the low low cost of a cold slice of pizza!
Siffrin: You do realize where raccoons’ little hands have been right?
Isabeau: Is… Is that the… only reason you wouldn’t let a raccoon give you a heat transplant?
Bonnie: Come on! Their so well known for washing their hands that they’re called “washing bears” in Vaugardian! You don’t have to worry where their little hands have been!
Siffrin: You heard it here folks! Getting a heart transplant from a raccoon is perfectly safe!
Mirabelle: Where’s the raccoon getting the heart?!?!?
Siffrin: Don’t worry about it.

It would be really funny if Loop joked about technically being the creator of the current time line, actually.
"Stardust I fucking made you and I will UNmake you." would be so fucking funny???
Or-
"Loop this sucks."
"So?"
"You made this timeline, do something about it."
"No."
"SO ALL GODS ARE JUST LAZY?!?"
"Yes, actually."

Silly headcanon: postgame, Loop eventually ends up with the name Lupine. Practically speaking, most people still use their "nickname", Loop, but it feels nice to have a non-time-travel related meaning behind it, somehow- but also nice not to have to really change the name, giving up yet another identity. They just made the name bigger, instead of throwing it away and finding a new one.
This happened because some random person misheard it as Lupe and went "oh, is that short for Lupine, like the flower?", and because Loop is completely incapable of not committing to the bit, they immediately went "...yeah, sure it is!" with the least sincere smile ever delivered by a celestial being.
Normally this would have been forgotten as yet another instance of Loop Just Fucks With People, such as the time they convinced a random unattended small child that getting a weird glowing star head is just what happens to you if you stay up past your bedtime too often, except that at some point later in the day they did something dumb and Odile decided to Sternly Full Name them with a profoundly exasperated Lupine.
(She may have been slightly drunk at the time.)
At which point, Loop decided they had to keep this one, because it was too funny not to.
#isat#not mine#q#love odile accidentally giving loop what is effectively a nickname#just so she can Sternly Full Name them#first ever instance of her using a shortened version of someone's name most of the time

writing advice for characters with a missing eye: dear God does losing an eyes function fuck up your neck. Ever since mine crapped out I've been slowly and unconsciously shifting towards holding my head at an angle to put the good eye closer to the center. and human necks. are not meant to accommodate that sorta thing.

Since I did Flowey and and the knight, figured I'd do their siblings too.
The fallen angel and the angel with tattered wings, maybe together they can get stronger in a healthy way? (they start going to the gym)
