I have another Melizabeth headcanon.

Meliodas is a jack of all trades, as over his 3,000 years of wandering Britania and all 107 of Elizabeth's reincarnations, he's learnt a new skill.

Each Elizabeth had a different interest or passion, which Meliodas learnt and mastered, and even after each of their passings, he never forgot those skills. Because this was his way of honouring each individual reincarnation of his love.

It's why he was able to do so many things, like built and run the Boar Hat, and I also headcanon Meliodas being able to braid hair 😅.

Each reincarnation was still his Elizabeth, and so learning the one thing that made them happy was the only way for him to feel connected to them and to not lose his sanity.

Melizabeth + Baby Tristan headcanons bc why not

Elizabeth smells like strawberries and vanilla. Meliodas likes her smell to sometimes when she’s asleep he likes to take her scent in.

Elizabeth has a habit of playing with Meliodas’ hair while he sleeps. It calms him, even if he doesn’t need rest. Meliodas, in turn, always holds her close, afraid of losing her again.

Even though Elizabeth is physically not the strongest without her powers, she can still put up a slap. Once she slapped Meliodas so hard in the cheek that he still has ptsd about it lol

Meliodas lost Tristan when he was a baby for about an hour. Elizabeth found Tristan crawling through Meliodas’s office table. To this day they’ll never know how he got there.

Meliodas likes to bite Elizabeth in a playful way. It’s like a kiss but he gets too into it and ends up biting her. It’s a soft bite so she doesn’t really care as long as it doesn’t leave a mark.

When Elizabeth sleeps with her wings out, the feathers she drops somehow end up in Meliodas. Whether it’s his hair, mouth, or inside his clothes. The feathers are everywhere.

Elizabeth likes to brush Meliodas’s hair because he has the most horrendous bed head in history.

Meliodas likes to take a bit out of Elizabeth’s food and she does the same with his. Why do they do it? Idk they just do it.

Elaine too. She can still be short and petite and have short hair but like... just age up her face a bit damn

The sins waited (much) longer to have kids, are actually good parents, and raise their kids together - they overall stay together bc why have found family just to break them apart in the end, that's dumb

This is canon but never utilized but Elizabeth is just powerful as fuck and will use her powers bc she's a bad ass

Ban and Meliodas have fucked. This is not particularly important and is technically canon compliant but like... come on... they're too boyfriend coded to have not fucked in the long years in which both of their loves were dead/a child. They fucked.

Jericho doesn't have a character assassination and settles down with a lesbian lover. Maybe Guila. But is family to Ban. And is def not a p*do with his son. Because what the actual fuck

Howzer (best boy) gets bitches. Maybe Guila. Maybe they're in a throuple. Idk. But I want him to find love

Dreyfus and Hendy (also best boy) are gay. Again, this one feels low key canon compliant. But yeah, they're dating

Tristan is proud of both his demon and goddess heritage, or at least he and Meliodas are on journeys of self acceptance together bc they're bad ass and I love them, especially as demons

Hawk Mama is still a weirdly goated mystery pig. Just kinda chaotic neutral being who just rlly likes being in the ground and having a bar on her back. Also Cath isn't fucking evil. I miss Cath

I think each clan’s existence plays a role in maintaining the fabric of reality as it is, and manifesting the magic that exists. Absence or excess causes intense problems and threatens the world.

The given reason for humanity becoming more magical and the overall magical health of Britannia declining is plot convenience. But this is what I think it should actually be going on there: 

The goddess clan and demon clan both generally exist at a greater distance from humanity compared to the giant and fairy clan, either in another dimension or other place (my mutuals propose, for instance, that the demon realm exists in either Japan or Ireland); this distance representing how they stand on equally powerful and opposite sides of a spectrum. It’s so clear how far apart they are, how clear at first glance the line is between what they represent. I propose that their link to the magical balance between them is more precarious than that between of the giants and fairies, and much more vital to the manifestation of magic itself.

As for the giants and fairies: their clans’ supernatural relationship is easier to understand in that they both have ties to nature. It’s a more tangible concept - how does the environment exist without the earth? Flora without fauna? And when do we ever see fairies and giants going toe-to-toe? 

We see the Giant and Fairy clans join with Diane and King’s marriage. I’m going to dig for meaning and propose that this restored a balance between them that was always meant to be. That, in the same way that Elizabeth and Meliodas met and bonded soul-to-soul, their souls’ union was able to restore an ancient and necessary balance to their own clans. Elizabeth and Meliodas brought the end to an eternal war. I’m gonna say that King and Diane brought an end to an unnatural silence. An absence of a relationship, to parallel the absence of a supernatural union between light and dark, life and death, which, arguably should coexist without a third force (supernatural racism, the goddesses’ genocide agenda, etc.) attempting to eliminate one from existence. 

Drole and Gloxinia’s relationship in canon has mysterious origins. A lot of us seem to be shipping them, and I don’t think they’re wrong from a narrative perspective. Remember the giants’ connection to the earth and the faries’ connection to nature. It makes sense that their clans should have some kind of relationship, instead of not interacting at all. Love between them, whether romantic or platonic, could represent the same thing. I hypothesize that fairies and giants were always close (not necessarily physically!) in ancient times until the Holy War, and upon seeing the devastation and unnecessary death they “split” in order to prevent history from repeating. An angst disagreement, or a solemn and silent withdrawal. Giants, continuing on as some of the greatest warriors in Britannia, overemphasizing it in the hope their strength will continue to protect them and bring them honor and courage. Fairies, isolating themselves from all other interactions, neglecting their warrior skills to the point where they become as they are in nnt, relying on their king to do everything for them and “discarding their honor” in terms of their powers. Unhealthy war, unhealthy peace. 

I propose that the rifts caused by the Holy War are what sapped the magic from Britannia. When the goddesses and demons lose the ability to interact with the world “in-between” them, the magic drains. Etc. Humans, the “odd one out,” adapted. For fun, I think there should be some natural disasters thrown into the mix every now and again, as well as other phenomena which I will describe later. What happens when the ropes on all four sides, holding together the supernatural balance of reality, snap? This whole thing is inspired somewhat by the idea that in a fantasy realm, there is one more sphere of health you have to keep track of. It’s physical health, mental health, and magical health. Neglect your mental health? Uh oh! Neglect your magical health? UH OH. I think that if you’re not in touch with yourself and your powers, well, there are consequences. And something like that on a larger scale is happening to Britannia with two (?) upset balances.

HELLO, ITS BEEN A LONG ACCIDENTAL HIATUS, BUT I RETURN TO YOU WITH A NEW MELIZABETH HEADCANON

I have just realized that my boyfriend can tell apart the Itty bitty differences between my blinks, and what they means.

"I'm processing, give me a second."

"What the fuck are you on about?"

"Keep talking, I'm listening."

"The fuck are they on about?"

"Woah, no shit?"

"Fuck, that's awful."

"I'm losing my patience, stfu."

He can TELL now. And it is honestly probably the most romantic thing I find about him right now, that he pays enough attention to know them all.

Now with that stated, I'd like to give a headcanon.

When Meliodas first joins STIGMA, he's not exactly expressive or conversational beyond the bare minimum to convey information.

But Elizabeth can read him like a book. Which means that she'll translate for him in conversations, glancing at him, and then conveying his opinion

"He thinks that's fucking adorable"

"He knows what you're feeling, and he's sorry."

"Meliodas believes that's a terrible strategy."

He learns to be more expressive as time goes on, but sometimes when he's upset or stressed, he still goes blank to the average eye.

Her ability to read him carries on into her reincarnations. Meliodas is caught off guard by this at first, and takes very careful measures to conceal his inner thoughts, sometimes suppressing them altogether, so she doesn't catch that little twitch of his brows and figure out some little thing she's done caused him grief. (Usually, a little habit of hers that carries over as well, like that tendency to nibble her lip when she's thinking that goes back to the very first.)

It triggered her memories once. Never again.

But the sins are having a conversation, and Princess Elizabeth glances out of the corner of her eye at Meliodas, and frowns. Trying to be as polite as possible, she requests that King "please stop using your daggers as darts so close to the taverns main door, as it's making Sir Meliodas a bit anxious." And he stills, giving her a startled look, then glancing at his captain who - shockingly - gains a slight flush of pink to the tops of his cheeks. He clears his throat. "I'm just concerned someone might walk in at the wrong time is all. Wouldn't want you scaring away my customers!" He brushes off with a joke.

It becomes a habit, Elizabeth glancing at their Captain and - completely unaware of the fact she's telling the sins his carefully concealed thoughts - makes his opinions knowledge to the team.

They eventually get over their startled reactions, brushing it off as human royalty being trained to read their court and nobles or... something, and just start to look to her to translate him when he's being stubbornly silent. The only one who can read him half as well when he's like that is Merlin, who they all know has a lengthy past with him, though not what that past is.

The one time she'd been asked if she knew how Elizabeth could do that - maybe she had a dormant empathy or telepathy magic? - she just got this secret little smile, put a finger against her lips, and teleportated away.

Headcanons on how Meliodas felt when he met Elizabeth Liones ? When she was a kid til when she tumbled in the bored hat.

WhenMeliodas first got to hold Elizabeth in his hands as an infant, hefelt completely left alone and destroyed on the inside. He wasn’table to cure the curse, he wasn’t able to save her and mostimportant, he had to see her die again. Holding the person he lovesthe most in his hands as an infant, for more than a hundreds timeswas slowly killing him on the inside, yet it strengthened hisfeelings and his love for her. He thought of her as a precious being,knowing that he would have the luck to meet her again.

Giving Elizabeth to Bartra wasn’t a hard decision for Meliodas. Heknew that Bartra was currently the only one that would be able toprotect Elizabeth and to care for her, even more since he already hadtwo younger children. He did not tell Bartra about Elizabeth’s backstory though, he wanted to wait for it til she was at least ateenager. After giving the infant to Bartra he spend day, almostmonths in several bars, letting the alcohol carry his sorrows and hisself-recrimination away. It took him around two years to gather hisstrength again and to carry on to find a way to cure the curse.

AsMeliodas visited the castle around ten years later, he had alreadybought the Boar’s Hut. He was really nervous about seeing Elizabethagain, seeing how much she had grown and how beautiful she alreadywas. When he saw her playing with Veronica and Margaret he couldn’thelp but to smile while at the same time his heart shattered topieces again. She was so happy, so beautiful and so innocent. Shedidn’t deserve to start her life again and again, she deserved itto live her life to the fullest and forever with her memories.Meliodas wished for the time to pass more quickly while looking ather, though on the other hand he wished for the time to stop. He feltuseless for not already curing the curse.

Aftergetting convicted he left the castle again together with Hawk andHawk’s mama. He wanted to let the wrong assumptions calm down,spending some time with traveling around and trying to get rid of thecurse. He thought about Liz or Elizabeth every day, she was the firstthing on his mind when he woke up and the last one before he driftedoff to sleep. Whenever he needed to be brave or strong, she was onhis mind. Whenever he searched for strength to get through a roughday, he thought about being with her again one day, happily livingfor the rest of their lives.

WhenElizabeth entered the Boar’s Hat for the first time, Meliodas heartstarted beating at an unhealthy pace, the presence of her magicshooting through his body. He knew that it was her before he even gotthe chance to take her armor off. On one hand he was relieved that hefinally had the love of his life by his side again, feeling completedand happy but on the other hand he was afraid of what was to come.Meeting her again under this circumstances had to mean that there wassomething bad going on, causing him to inwardly promise her to breakthe curse this time.

AU where the curse never happened and the Sins are on some long quest outside Liones

but they've never met Elizabeth, so they're sure Meliodas is lying when he tells them about her. Like, "yeah, of course you have a girlfriend in Canada. Of course you fucked the Supreme Deity's daughter. Of course she adores you and puts up with your drinking and angst and bullshit. Sure. Why not?"

and it becomes this increasingly elaborate joke. Every time they're in a town, Meliodas goes off to send letters to Elizabeth (he actually writes them, with ink and everything!) and the team try to shadow him and catch him in the lie. When he inevitably "receives back" perfumed letters with a royal seal on them (he shows them off very proudly), they roll their eyes and secretly wonder how Meliodas has been smuggling perfume along in his luggage all this time. Whenever they see a cute animal or a sunny day, Meliodas goes "oh, Elizabeth would love this" and everyone just goes along with it.

Ban loves the joke fodder but is secretly a little worried about how hard his friend tries to one-up what he has with Elaine. Diane (she never lost her memories in this reality) thinks it's flattering Meliodas specifically mentions his girlfriend is tall, but really worries that the Captain is lonely. King grills him relentlessly about his and Elizabeth's backstory, but hasn't found an inconsistency yet. he keeps trying.

Finally they come back to Liones, and that same day, Meliodas falls sick. His teammates send word to the King that he won't be able to meet with him, and then they hear huge wingbeats outside the Boar Hat.

they go outside, and there is this honest-to-God angel flapping down, looking frantic as hell. She is beautiful, pure blue eyes, cascading silver hair, everything- and she asks, "Is Meliodas here?"

They don't say shit. they're too dumbstruck. So then she tries, "Hello?"

Someone finally points at her and says, "...You're the Supreme Deity's daughter."

and she says apprehensively, "...Yes?"

Like, it was so fucking terrible that he literally walked back into the room to find her face first in her bowl DEAD...I know it's not funny...but it is to me

So I watched Cursed by Light for the first time yesterday (even though I started watching sds circa 2017, I'm just late to the game🤪) and I have so many thoughts !! Might do more analysis later, but here's my initial thoughts

I NEED more Meliodas and Zeldris interactions like it is a NECESSITY

Elizabeth was so badass in this movie I love her and it made me want to see "Bloody Ellie" even more omg

On the topic of Elizabeth, I love her bc she's such a girls' girl. Like, find her a woman, and they will be besties. I mean Merlin, Diane, Elaine, Gelda, even Derieri - she's just such a girl lover !!

And it's pride month so legally, everyone has to agree with bi!Elizabeth... jk... kinda lol (honestly every single sin is queer in my head, im prohecting my queer onto all nnt char)

Cursed by Light DEFINITELY best movie like hands down

BUT I actually kinda wish that the Supreme deity plotline was part of the show rather than a one off movie

Like I want it as a season. I feel like her character had so much potential not only for cool plots and battles, not only for the resurrection of the goddess race and the problems that would cause, but also for Elizabeth's emotional and physical/power arc

Anyway I will be thinking of at least a half season to combat the SD, complete with flashback to and before the Holy War and Elizabeth defeating her mother with those famed goddess powers that the demon race was so afraid of

And of course, within this season would be lots of brother bonding, and a large amount of time set in the demon realm where we get to explore the society and world, along more with the demon bros' past as individuals and together

Meliodas atones for both his betrayal of his brother, and that of his people who he probably should have been protecting

Plus maybe some gowther (bc I love him) and original demon lore bc that would be cool

All of these are positively !!! even the water which just so happens to play into a very specific headcanon of mine where the demon realm water would taste completely different for. Reasons. (Cries in unwritten darkness lore) and so yeah the resulting taste and texture of whatever water filtration systems Britannians have would really freak him out. If he has to hydrate himself and there isn’t alcohol available he will drink pond or gutter water and say it’s good because it actually tastes like humanity, whatever that means. He would ramble something like, “water should taste like there’s been life in it and around it” and people would go huh, poetic… wait what the fuck did you just say. Do you LIKE a high concentration of dirt and pond water bacteria. (Yea… demons would digest that fr… give that man a bone to chew on)

Also hahaha…. teeth! Teeth! TEETH. I gave him 130. Is that too many? Also do you think he is venomous. I gave high level demons venomous tails but what about the teeth.

The pjs and Elizabeth’s clothes is just straight up canon. That man wears a suit all the time. He saw that humans always wear clothes and went ok, it’s the dress shirts for me, I want buttons and a collar all the time! I like to think his fashion sense is is slightly inspired by what he thinks his little brother will think looks cool.

Soulmate AU for nnt and the goddess clan really has problems. They can rarely find their soulmate within the clan and they are too prideful to accept someone from other clan as their partner.

Perhaps the story about a demon who has found a mate in a goddess and is ready to reject enmity to be together, but the goddess does not agree.

But in the case of Meliodas, it was Elizabeth who ran after him shouting "accept me as mate, stupid demon" until he finally agreed.
