I have picked up trying to learn the fiddle again
I'm only on the first song in the book, Ida Red, but I got the first line of it down, even if it's a bit wobbly
#sword speaks#might end up practising in the basement lest my upstairs neighbors grow to hate me#my main problem that I had in the past is remembering to practice#but I figure even if it's 15 minutes of fucking around it's something#and I'm going to try to use it as like a quasi-meditative thing#cause to sound good you have to relax and be loose#which I have problems with obvs#and I've looked it up it's part of why music therapy works#and I might dedicate my practising to Brighid and the Dagda#Maybe Aengus Og if I feel called#depends on how I feel and it might motivate me to practice more#but then it might also get mixed up in my residual Catholic guilt about not being a 'good enough' worshipper#idk we'll see

Domestic
Azriel x Reader
Word count: 1530
Synopsis: Az watches you get ready for an event. He's never seen the process before and is extremely taken by it. It feels so personal to him and he canât explain it.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Heâd never known an intimacy so sweet. Itâd likely become an injury heâd carry afterwards when it came to an end.
A taste of domesticity he didnât even realize heâd been missing out on.
Hours left for the gala theyâd be attending, and you were getting ready. The sweetness of watching it unfold was meditative. A window to your most private hours, so glaringly personal that it felt like a sampling of commitment.
He looked forward to thisâit quickly became Azrielâs favourite part of the day. All his to savour.
Heâd known yearning, heâd known the sex. Had pined over Mor for centuries, pictured a life with her, ached for the void he felt. Coveted pretty females, kept lovers to satiate himself. He was well versed in admiration from afar, but never been privy to the process where a female sat in front of a vanity and readied herself.
And somehow, this felt more intimate than all the rest.
Youâd been hesitant about attending the long-haul mission when you learned it would just be you and the guys, but Azriel and his brothers consciously accommodated you right from the start. Before the various dinners and galas, Cassian would train until the very last moment to avoid making you feel rushed. Heâd come in 15 minutes before the time to leave, throw on a suit and make some snippy joke about his exhaustive beautifying process. Rhys would be in and out of the room, ensuring all arrangements were taken care of, then savour his time getting ready which actually was exhaustive.
Azriel? He always had reports to go over that kept him strictly in the room. Kept him where he could sink into the luxury of watching your routine unfold.
Fools envied those who found mates for the companionship, the physical intimacy, the assurance of partnership. Thatâd been what Azriel ruminated on when he watched Rhys love Feyre, Cassian love Nesta. A fool indeed, because heâd never even considered this side of things.
It put entire fantasies in his head. How it would feel to have this routine with youâwhere you were his. Heâd be watching it all happen from his bed. Youâd be this comfortable in his room. Take up space in his life. A life where this was his to claim.
Even Morâall his years of aching for herâany overlapping missions, and sheâd kept him from seeing this side of her. There was truly no instance where heâd been let in this way. No relationship or lover where he got to see and learn it.
Heâd been memorizing it. It was always a bath first that youâd come out of smelling intoxicating. Gleaming skin beneath a thin dressing robe that ended above your knees. It took a while for you to feel comfortable sitting in the shared room in just your robe, but it took Azriel even longer to be normal about it. To rid himself of thoughts about what stayed on underneath it, or what wasnât on at all. He didnât miss the blush that coloured your cheeks when youâd come out, from the heat of the bath or the awareness of your undress. A blush that Azriel matched when heâd look elsewhere, trying to avoid discomforting you, to avoid letting Cassian or Rhys notice his attentiveness.
Next was the dressing table component, where you were currently seated. Your robe sinfully inched up your legs when you lifted your arms to fuss over your hair. Arranging pins into various places. The focus in your eyes heâd catch in the mirror made the thoughts eddy out of Azrielâs brain.
So, so pretty.
A pinch between your brows as it slowly fell into place right. It took a week before you began comfortably playing your symphonia during the routine. Quietly, even though Rhys insisted it didnât bother anyone. Azriel shuffled his papers, listening to the music that you faintly hummed along to. A breath of feminine exasperation left you that drew his eyes upâyou were done with the hair. Tired from the effort.
Azriel bit back a smile at the labour of it all.
His favourite part was nextâthe cosmetics. Face creams first. A little perfume oil roller down the length of your pretty throat. Intention behind every brushstroke on your skin. Precision in shading beneath cheekbones. He shamelessly looked up to catch the part where you smiled at your reflection to set the rouge on the apples of your cheeks. Looked away again.
Kohl smudged into your lash line. Smaller brushes to sweep pigment on your eyelids. You didnât notice his glimpses, too focused on the accuracy. A miniature comb you applied to your lashes, brushing upward and coating them black.
Your most beautiful feature, those hypnotic eyes.
He listened carefully for the click when you opened your lip rouge. He glutinously watched you apply colour to your sensuous mouth.
What heâd give to feel that motion he witnessed, the drag forward and back across your lips beneath the pressure of the rouge. The plush he could seeâcould practically feel. Colour he could envision smudging prettily with his thumb.
He cast his gaze down again. A composing deep breath, nearly shuddering.
Rhys cleared his throat, making Azrielâs head snap to him where he was sitting at the desk. Heâd been getting dressed. Azriel didnât even notice heâd sat down. A hateful smirk pulled the corners of Rhysâs mouth up. Azriel glared, returning his focus to his reports.
You admired your completed work, checking the presentation from various angles. Azriel would stare at the angel in the vanity too if it werenât for his bastard brother making silent insinuations to his side.
He was spared when Cassian entered the room, looking at you, and releasing an inflated sigh of relief. âThank God. We can let you out into the public again.â
You laughed mirthfully. âIâd say the same about you, Cass, but you could use a little work.â
He only approached you, crowding your space. âCan I get some of that?â he nodded to your products.
You laughed again, scooting for him to unceremoniously squish at your side on the tiny bench. You dolloped something onto your fingers, twisting to smear it onto his face, grinning.
âAzriel wants some too,â Rhys chimed in.
His heart faltered.
You glanced back, meeting Azrielâs gaze, brows high. He had to clench his jaw to keep down any reaction. Your beauty stunned him, and whatever Rhys was playing at, whatever you were going to doâ
He was too startled by the suggestion to think to deny it. Too late, he realized, his silence implied agreement.
Somewhat bashfully, you rose in answer, product in hand.
Azriel remained frozen as you approached him. Both his brothers watched, but all he could care about was the homecoming he felt when you sat next to him on the bed.
Did you have any idea how profoundly personal it felt?
That feeling of DĂŠjĂ vu befell him againâwhatever version of this domesticity existed in another life where this was his. You were indeed on his bed, more bare than not. About to touch him like he was all yours.
That part bore the most truth, in this life and whatever other lives he was getting visions of.
You sat close enough that the skin of your knee tested his focus. It was just moisturizer that youâd squeezed onto your fingertips, but God did it feel like something precious, or maybe it was the sense of reverence you put into anything you touched. He held his breath as you raised your hand and gently smudged the cream across his cheekbones. Â
Azriel felt like a teenager all over again, heart soaring at the tenderness.
Eyes focused, you leaned closer. Your other hand came up to gently cradle his face, thumbs stroking the product more intently into his skin. He hoped you couldnât hear his heart as you stroked across his cheek a third time. Warm and soft. Azriel savoured the proximity. How even more devastating you looked up close.
âThere,â he felt your breath softly puff onto his cheek. You retracted your hands, bracing yourself on his bed.
âThank you,â he muttered lowly. The two of you remained for a beat. This time, Azriel didnât try to hide his stare.
You finally broke it, seeming to recall the intrusive observation of your viewers. You rose, heading to the bathroom.
He couldnât care less about his brothersâ prying eyes. Not with your warmth still sinking into his skin.
So, so familiar.
When the bathroom door finally opened, he snapped out of his thoughts. Youâd changed into your gown. Your eyes found his immediately, chin marginally dipping under his gaze. He noted your slight shiver, and he allowed himself to wonder if you too felt the strange air. Charged with false nostalgia.
You only shook it off, smiling at him.
He felt it prickling again as he drank in the sight of you. Like flashbacks from another future. Something in his chest tightened. Likely the injury of tasting this domesticity already setting in, it seemed.
He only smiled back.
Heâd figure it out later.
How to Wake Up Early
I always wanted to be one of those girls who would wake up early, go for a run and be super productive with their mornings. The issue is - i really love sleep. Every time i would start a routine, i would eventually fail. I would wake up to turn the alarm off, think to myself â5 mins moreâ and boom- itâs suddenly 8:30 am and i need to leave for work in less than 1 hour.
Two videos on YouTube really changed my mind. One was Andrew Hubermanâs, and the other was Jihyo, a k-pop star.
I came across Andrew Hubermanâs video about dopamine, and somehow, it helped me to understand why the difficulty waking up early is so important. Now Iâm no expert of neuroscience, but let me explain to the best of my abilities.
Dopamine is essentially the build up to the reward; it is not the reward. It is the satisfaction and happiness you feel (when your body releases), after you have achieved something that was painful/ required you to struggle a bit. In order to receive this reward, you have to feel pain, because pain and satisfaction are directly related to each other. Satisfaction without pain is useless and does nothing for you essentially.
That got me wondering: for me, waking up early is difficult. Itâs painful. I dont want to do it. But if I do it, its my first win of the day. Itâs the first challenge I have overcome of that day, and I always do feel amazing after. The dopamine release after the struggle of waking up and winning the battle of not going back to sleep is definitely there. I feel more confident because a) I have done the ârightâ thing b) selfishly, i can do something so simple that a lot of people struggle with c) it weirdly makes me feel more confident and like Iâm doing the first step of being an adult right.
Jihyoâs video was quite random - she did some show where it shows her daily life when sheâs not working. Parts of it made me feel like sheâs unable to just relax with herself (probably because her body and mind are so used to chaos, performing, her girl group living together for so many years) so she busies herself a lot. I took the positives from the video; sheâs extremely disciplined which I admired, she gets her chores done, sheâs good at ensuring that her space is truly her space.
So I decided to build a relatively foolproof routine; but mind you, it does require quite a bit of willpower.
Iâve developed a habit of waking of waking up at 5 am. I head straight for a 30-45 minute meditation and then at least an hour long workout. I stack my habits that way; right after meditation, I put on my running shoes. I used to really struggle with waking up, even if I had to wake up late. This is the strategy that worked me, see if it works for you.
1. Reset your space the night before
This makes you feel less stressed in the morning and also genuinely makes you feel like you have your shit together. Put your clothes away, keep your bag in its place, clean up your desk, reorganise your make up and skin care products. Youâre going to go to sleep and wake up to a clean space.
Make sure you define both your bedtime and wake up time. My bedtime is 9:30 pm - so i manage my chores, reading, dinner, everything around that.
2. Early dinner
Iâve noticed that early dinners help me sleep better. Iâve built the habit of casually walking for 25-30 minutes post dinner (not right after eating, after about 15 mins). Iâm not walking fast to a point where Iâm sweating and puffing, Iâm casually strolling outside. During this time, I donât listen to music, interact with anyone or my phone. I use this time to connect with myself and think about whatever I feel like.
3. No devices before sleeping
I donât want to stimulate myself before sleeping, so I prefer reading before bed. If you donât like reading, you can instead do your skincare, maybe revise some physical study notes, etc.
4. Using Alarmy app
This app is torture and I swear by it. This little thing makes you a solve a challenge of your choice in order to make the alarm stop, like math problems, puzzles, etc. I chose 5 math problems.
5. Keep your phone across the room
Donât charge it near your reach. Keep it as away from you as possible.
6. Stand for two minutes after shutting off the alarm
Donât allow yourself to snooze, or go back to bed. This is the part that really requires you to tell yourself: âi am not going back to sleep. Iâm going to wake up and do the things I have to do for my own benefit.â Remember - the states of heaven and hell are not outside of you, theyâre inside you. They are mental states. You have to fight with your lazy demon and tell him/her/whoever that NO; we are NOT going back to bed.
I charge my phone across the room so that forces me to walk first thing in the morning. To stop myself from going back to sleep, after i have shut the alarm off, i just stand for 2 minutes. I dont sit, or go back to bed. I stand and tell myself, weâre doing this. Weâre going to wake up and have an amazing day.
Your mind is like a child with tantrums and mood swings. Your rational self has to discipline your mind the way a parent would to a child.
7. Turn a small light on
Not something that is jarring or overwhelming, but enough to help you start waking up. I turn my phoneâs flashlight on and keep it on my desk.
8. Be consistent, even on weekends
The biggest mistake you can make is not being consistent. Your body doesnt recognise weekends, your mind does. Your body doesnât know that tomorrow is Monday, so its time to wake up early. By staying consistent (yes, I wake up at 5 am on weekends too), it allows my body to develop its own body clock and not wrecking the system Iâve kept in place.
What do I do if I have a late night?
It really depends. Letâs say I come home relatively early (+2 hours around my bedtime) around 11 pm, and im in bed by 11:30. Iâll wake up somewhere close to 5 am, like 6 am instead. The next day I ensure Iâm in bed by the bedtime Iâve kept for myself and wake up at 5 am again.
If I come home really late, like 3 am - i keep my alarm exactly 8 hours from that time. I need to get sleep, but oversleeping is an issue and that wont allow me to wake up early the next day. I want to get enough sleep where im rested for the day, but not excessively. Unfortunately, sleeping so late would definitely mean that i wont be able to fall asleep at my dot 9:30 pm bedtime, but i turn the lights off and get ready to sleep by then anyway, and mentally prepare for my 5 am wake up call.
Thinking about rockstar Eddie going to a fancy ass gym with like a sauna and pool and shit. He only goes for the yoga class. Because that hour long class with the meditative music and blankets and warm sunlight coming through big windows is the only time he can sleep since coming back from tour. He feels too itchy in his own home, canât get comfortable or settled and everything just feels off.
Also thinking about Steve who works at the gym as a custodian. He wants to teach classes there, but they didnât have anything available so heâs biding his time because the pay is good enough. He always sees Eddie asleep in the room after the class is over. And he always gives him an extra 15 minutes before going in and opening the door Intentionally loud enough to wake him up so he can clean.
He doesnât know who Eddie is, but he looks so peaceful asleep in the sunlight that Steve canât help it.
Femme Fatale Guide: Realistic Tips & Tricks to Become "That Girl"
Some alternatives to having an entire day before 9am that allow you to enjoy your life and help you find pleasure in reaching your goals. Enjoy xx
Focus on a consistent sleep schedule, not select times: Structure your day around your energy, not an idealized schedule is guaranteed to not work for everyone. Wake up at 6-7 am, if you're a true early riser, and head to the gym to get your day started. Otherwise, there's no reason why waking up at 8-9am and getting in an evening-time workout session is lesser than.
Plan your days & week around your energy peaks: Figure out the times of the day when you're most focused, productive, creative, fidgety, sleepy, etc., and structure your days/weeks/month around your internal clock to the best of your ability. While this may be slightly difficult if you have a 9-5 or go to school during the day, think about what blocks of time are best dedicated to meetings, creative work, planning, routine tasks, emails, studying, etc. For those with uteruses, consider your energy throughout your cycle to help you plan the month.
Create "bookend" routines: While these will often be your morning and nighttime routines, consider how you prime and unwind your mind from your biggest tasks of the day (for most of us, this will be work, school, and chores on the weekends). Some reading, light movement, and upbeat music can create momentum before starting your daily tasks. A long walk and some journaling are a simple yet productive combination to decompress from the day.
Embrace the power of 3s: Create a daily primer routine, workday, and relaxation routine around 3 core tasks/projects/rituals. For example: Mornings can include using your 5-Minute Journal, doing a quick 10-minute meditation/yoga/dancing session to get in some movement, and spending 10 minutes reading; Your workday should be focused on completing your "Big Three" tasks, projects, or meetings of the day; Evenings can include a quick 5-10 minute planning session for the next day, a 15-60 minute walk or workout (depending on how you're feeling), and some journaling/reading time after dinner. You don't need to do it all. Consistency is key.
Create a "pleasure" and "pain" list. Own your inner masochist: Open up a fresh journal page or web document. Create two separate lists titled "Pleasure" and "Pain." The first list captures all of the simple pleasures that make your days enjoyable (from coffee rituals and your skincare routine to small work successes, daily movement, and indulgent evening treats, like a favorite TV show, a glass of wine, tea, etc.). The second list captures the tasks you regularly dread or procrastinate out of hatred and overwhelm (includes tedious or mentally-draining work tasks, meetings, chores, difficult workout sessions, necessary conversations with emotionally immature people, etc.). Looking over these two lists gives you an overview of your daily experience to help you (realistically) optimize your day for more ease and enjoyment.
Incorporate a pleasurable element into every ritual: Find ways to pair these more "painful" activities with something pleasurable. Examples include having a favorite coffee or tea while working on a draining work project, listening to a fun playlist, taking a walk/doing a face mask or massage while having a less enjoyable conversation, etc.)
Leverage habit stacking: Build habits on top of one another to set yourself up for success. Use a nearly mindless or enjoyable "cue" to spark action that results in habit formation. For example, use sipping your morning coffee as a cue to read your 10 daily pages or do some journaling. Leave your workout clothes out beside your bed with your yoga mat all laid out to make it stupidly easy to get your workout done right away. Have a playlist curated and opened to let you press "start" immediately when you need to begin your work day.
Create a capsule menu/wardrobe: Streamline your everyday meals and outfits by curating a handful of healthy breakfasts/lunches/dinners/snacks and outfits that you can put together mindlessly throughout the week. While creativity in these areas is fun, pre-determined options for busy days can help minimize decision fatigue. Know what staple groceries you need in your kitchen to make these recipes, and ensure to keep them in stock when going on your weekly grocery run. Have a few go-to outfits for work, running errands, working out, and social outings. Choose 5-10 well-fitting wardrobe staples that pair well together in the front of your closet at all times.
Become a playlist master: Curate different playlists for particular tasks, activities, and times of the day. Having playlists for creative/admin work tasks, reading, working out, cleaning, waking up, and winding down for the day can give you the energy to focus and not procrastinate or simply enjoy a necessary task more.
Focus on systems, not habits: Consider the domino effect of each practice and activity. Determine whether your current strategies and routines align with your energy, goals, and desired outcomes. Reflect on the parts of your routine that increase/decrease your energy and motivation. See how you can create a system â a pattern of consistently-practiced habits â that supports your goals and desired lifestyle that does not compromise your overall life satisfaction and well-being.
Experiment until you find an achievable balance: Focus on progress, not perfection. While there may be days or even seasons where hard work and fewer pleasures take priority, life is meant to bring you joy, peace, and satisfaction at the end of the day. Remaining in your comfort zone does you no good. However, learning ways to find pleasure in the process remains the key to long-lasting discipline and the energy necessary to maintain the determination required for success.
Sending you healthy and prosperous vibes xx
BOOST OF CONFIDENCEđŞđť
Have you ever observed a model very carefully? Do you know why they are so mesmerizing, charming, captivating and attractive? You know even the models that are not white or don't have kind of fair skin looks attractive and drop dead gorgeous.
Do you think that only beauty matters! Come on my girlies, beauty is overrated! Aura, energy, vibe, body language and personality attracts people more than beauty does. Outer beauty is temporary, but your inner beauty is permanent. Be smarter, earn money and then watch everyone beggin' to be with you, watch everyone being obsessed with you.
Work in your inner beauty that is your self love, self healing and self care and watch outer beauty glow naturally.
1. Self Love
Do more what you love like any of your hobbies or your PASSION.
Meditation (For sure!!)
Walk out in Nature.
Hear manifestion music or subliminals.
2. Self Healing/ Heal Inner Child
Journal your thoughts, regrets, fears, insecurities, pain or any negative feelings.
Reward yourself for all of your wins.
Meditation.
Do what your childhood you wanted to do.
Do the Ho'pono prayer.
Talk with your inner child.
See one of your childhood photo and talk with her/him and let the emotions go out.
3. Self Care
Drink more water.
Eat a little healthy.
Keep fast twice in a month.
Do your nails.
Hair care.
Ice your face.
Do some home remedies like face packs.
Exercise or Yoga
In this blog I'm going to give your confidence a boostđ
First of all, lemme remind you that Looks don't even matter!!
How you can be the best of you?
"CONFIDENCE" comes first! It's the vibe that screams "HEY I'M CONFIDENT IN MYSELF, I DON'T GIVE A SHIT WHATEVER YOU THINK OF ME!" Have confidence in every tiniest thing you do.
Whenever you're in public or wherever just remember:
1. YOU'RE THE MAIN CHARACTER
2. YOU'RE THE BEST.
3. YOU'RE THAT GIRL.
4. YOU'RE A WINNER.
5. YOUR LOOKS DOESN'T DESCRIBE YOU.
6. VIBE, AURA, ENERGY AND PERSONALITY IS IMPORTANT.
7. WALK LIKE YOU OWN THE PLACE.
8. NEVER THINK LIKE TOO MUCH.
9. DON'T LET YOUR CONFIDENCE GO DOWN.
10. DRESS BETTER.
đMAKE A PERSONALITY OF YOURS.
Write down every single thing you wanna be. How your FUTURE SELF IS? What she wears, what she do, whom she spends time with etc.
đBE HER
Put in the efforts to be her.
đ KNOWLEDGE
If you have knowledge than you are going to be successful no matter what! Keep reading books and gain the knowledge about different topics. Atleast for 15 to 20 minutes you should read a book.
đDRESS WELL
When I say dress well it doesn't mean to wear expensive clothes. I mean wear what makes you feel confident and pretty. For example: If oversized outfits make you feel damn cool then wear it and invest in buying oversized outfits. Just wear clean clothes.
REMINDER:
You're BEAUTIFUL.
You're Worth it.
You can do anything you want to do.
Thankyou for reading this blogđ
Self-Care Sunday
Self-care is about prioritizing your well-being and doing things that make you feel good. Feel free to adjust the routine to best suit your preferences and needs. Here's a step-by-step guide:
Step 1: Set the Mood Create a relaxing environment by dimming the lights and playing soothing music. Light some scented candles or use essential oils to enhance the ambiance.
Step 2: Morning Meditation or Stretching Start your self-care Sunday with a short meditation session to clear your mind and set positive intentions for the day. Alternatively, indulge in gentle stretching or yoga to awaken your body.
Step 3: Skincare Ritual Begin with a gentle cleanse to refresh your skin. Follow up with a hydrating mask or a DIY face mask using natural ingredients like honey and yogurt. Take this time to pamper your skin and give it some much-needed love.
Step 4: Nourishing Breakfast Prepare a nutritious and delicious breakfast. Consider options like a smoothie bowl, whole grain pancakes, or avocado toast. Incorporate fruits, veggies, and protein to fuel your body for the day ahead.
Step 5: Journaling or Creative Expression Spend some time journaling your thoughts, goals, or things you're grateful for. Alternatively, engage in a creative activity you enjoy, like painting, drawing, or writing poetry.
Step 6: Relaxing Bath or Shower Take a soothing bath with Epsom salts, bath oils, or your favorite bubble bath. If you prefer a shower, use a fragrant body wash or scrub to refresh your skin. Consider playing calming music or listening to a podcast as you unwind.
Step 7: Hair Care Dedicate time to your hair care routine. Whether you're deep conditioning, trying out a new hairstyle, or simply giving your hair a break from styling, make it a moment of self-care.
Step 8: Mindful Reading or Learning Spend time reading a book that inspires you or teaches you something new. This could be a novel, a self-help book, or an article related to a topic you're passionate about.
Step 9: Nature Connection If possible, spend time outdoors in nature. Whether it's a walk in the park, sitting under a tree, or simply breathing in fresh air on your balcony, connecting with nature can be incredibly rejuvenating.
Step 10: DIY Spa Time Set up a DIY spa area and treat yourself to a manicure, pedicure, or both. Use a luxurious scrub and follow up with your favorite nail polish for a polished look.
Step 11: Mindful Eating For lunch, prepare a balanced meal that includes a variety of colors and nutrients. Eat slowly and mindfully, savoring each bite.
Step 12: Positive Affirmations Spend a few minutes reciting positive affirmations in front of a mirror. Remind yourself of your worth, strength, and beauty.
Step 13: Creative Cooking or Baking If you enjoy cooking or baking, spend some time in the kitchen preparing a special treat or a new recipe you've been wanting to try.
Step 14: Wind-Down Yoga or Stretching As the day comes to an end, engage in a gentle wind-down yoga session or some gentle stretches to relax your body before bedtime.
Conquering the Writing Slump: Reignite Your Creativity and Motivation
Every writer experiences it at some point: the dreaded writing slump. It's that sinking feeling when your creativity seems to have gone into hibernation, leaving you staring at a blank page. But fear not! In this blog post, I'll help you explore unique and effective strategies to help you break free from the writing slump and reignite your motivation to write. Whether you're a seasoned writer or just starting out, these carefully crafted steps will guide you back to your creative flow.
Step 1: Reconnect with Your Writing Purpose
Take a moment to reconnect with your writing purpose. What drove you to start writing in the first place? Was it the desire to tell captivating stories, impart knowledge, or share your unique perspective? Reflect on your initial motivations and remind yourself of the passion that ignited your writing journey. This reconnection will serve as a powerful source of inspiration to propel you forward.
Step 2: Embrace the Power of Mindset
Your mindset plays a crucial role in overcoming a writing slump. Instead of viewing it as an insurmountable obstacle, shift your perspective and see it as an opportunity for growth. Embrace the belief that challenges are stepping stones to success. Cultivate a positive mindset, affirming your ability to overcome the slump and rediscover your writing mojo.
Step 3: Rediscover Your Writing Identity
Sometimes, a writing slump occurs when you feel disconnected from your writing identity. Take the time to rediscover who you are as a writer. Reflect on your unique writing style, voice, and the themes that resonate with you. Reconnecting with your writing identity will reignite the spark of creativity and motivate you to put pen to paper once again.
Step 4: Set Realistic Writing Goals
Setting realistic goals is essential in reclaiming your motivation. Break down your larger writing projects into smaller, achievable milestones. By doing so, you'll experience a sense of accomplishment as you complete each task, fueling your motivation to tackle the next one. Remember, progress, no matter how small, is still progress.
Step 5: Cultivate a Writing Ritual
Establishing a writing ritual can work wonders in overcoming a slump. Designate a specific time and place for your writing practice. Create a personalized ritual that helps you transition into a focused and creative mindset. It could be lighting a scented candle, playing calming music, or even performing a short meditation. The familiarity of your ritual will signal to your brain that it's time to unleash your creativity.
Step 6: Experiment with Writing Prompts
Writing prompts serve as catalysts for fresh ideas and inspiration. Seek out unique writing prompts that resonate with your interests and writing style. They can be found in books, online websites, or even through random word generators. Embrace the challenge of writing within given constraints, and witness how it sparks your creativity and motivates you to write again.
Step 7: Engage in Stream-of-Consciousness Writing
Stream-of-consciousness writing is a powerful technique to bypass your inner critic and tap into your subconscious mind. Set a timer for 10-15 minutes and write whatever comes to mind without censorship or judgment. Allow your thoughts to flow freely, even if they seem disjointed or nonsensical. This exercise can unlock hidden ideas and awaken your creative energy.
Step 8: Seek Inspiration from Other Creative Outlets
Sometimes, finding inspiration outside of writing can reignite your creative fire. Engage in other artistic outlets such as painting, photography, or music. Immerse yourself in nature, visit art galleries, or attend live performances. These experiences will stimulate your senses, refresh your perspective, and infuse your writing with newfound inspiration.
Step 9: Collaborate with Fellow Writers
Collaboration can be a powerful motivator. Seek out fellow writers and engage in collaborative projects, writing circles, or workshops. Sharing ideas, receiving constructive feedback, and discussing challenges with like-minded individuals will invigorate your creative spirit. Embrace the sense of camaraderie and support that comes from being part of a writing community.
Step 10: Embrace Self-Care and Recharge
Self-care is vital for overcoming a writing slump. Take care of your physical, mental, and emotional well-being. Engage in activities that recharge your creativity, such as practicing mindfulness, exercising, or immersing yourself in a favorite hobby. Prioritize self-care to create a balanced and nurturing environment for your writing to flourish.
Defeating the writing slump requires a combination of self-reflection, mindset shifts, and proactive steps. By reconnecting with your writing purpose, embracing a positive mindset, exploring new writing techniques, seeking inspiration from various sources, and nurturing your well-being, you will reignite your motivation to write and unleash your full creative potential. Remember, every writer encounters temporary setbacks, but it's your resilience and determination that will guide you back to the page. So, embrace these unique steps, trust in your abilities, and let your words flow once again. Happy writing!
â¤ď¸âđĽâEvie how do I manifest xyz???â watch me teach you manifestation basics in one post. â¤ď¸âđĽ
Hello again! It is me: your favorite shifting blogger Evie and today we are covering the 101 of manifestation (based on the law of assumption). I get plenty of dms and asks that go along the lines of âEvie can I manifest a car?â or âEvie can I manifest a boyfriend?â or âEvie can I manifest to become the next president of the United Statesâ et cetera, et cetera.
The answer will always be as clear as day: YOU ABSOLUTELY CAN. Wanna know why I know that? BECAUSE YOU CAN MANIFEST EVERYTHING EVER đĽłđĽłđĽł.
âbut how do I do that?â
Well this answer is gonna take some time as it is not definitive.
A lot of people like affirming as a method. Others love to visualize. Some people meditate and others listen to subliminals. I tend to get creative, I have written my manifestations on toilet paper and flushed it before and it fucking worked. What I mean to say is that there is no DEFINITIVE way to manifest stuff. If Mary can affirm like crazy and have her desire by tomorrow, this might have not worked for Jennifer. Jennifer affirmed for 169 days straight and never received her desire (because subconsciously she never thought that affirming would work). But when Jennifer lit a candle, thought about her desire and blew it out like a birthday candle, she had her desire 15 minutes later, because she always had this intuition that this would feel more natural to her.
At the end of the day: try as many things as you can, as you will naturally realize what makes sense to you and what doesnât. I did try affirming like crazy and I never got any desire ever that way. But for example listening to music and feeling every single word sung in my heart has gotten me WAAAYYY further. There is no real reason for that other than some things work for you and some things donât.
âbut why?â
Well. You believe certain things to be true. You might believe that there is no real love out there and that manifests and now you are lonely and in raging heartbreak. You might believe that you are the most glowing and magnetic person on this planet and for some reason that has proven itself through people thriving in your presence and begging to be near you. Because guess what. You manifested it.
âbut I never intentionally tried to manifest that every person I ever interact with breaks my heart in a soul crushing manner!â
Look. You manifest literally every single aspect of your life. ALWAYS. The whole point of manifestation as I am teaching you is to consciously control the way things manifest. But you have always, are always, and for ever will have been always the only creator of your reality. Your thoughts, your beliefs, your emotions and your desires manifest constantly. If you subconsciously believe that you are the most unlovable person on this planet guess how this will manifest into the physical realm? As every person you meet ever breaking your heart and declaring you as unlovable. And the key to everything is realizing that only you can decide what happens in your life. You are the source. The author of the book and the director of the movie. The painter of the artwork and the chef in the kitchen. Nothing you have ever witnessed has never not happened THROUGH you. You just didnât realize it.
âSo how do I consciously manipulate my reality?â
Thatâs when you step in your actual power. Listen, you control things. Everything. Nothing happens without you ordering it to happen first. You decide what is real and what is not. Thatâs a fact.
Now when you imagine your crush Johnny to text you, and you declare that to be the truth, a stone-hard fact and a thing that 100% is real and has happened, that energy will reflect itself in your reality.
You manifest by deciding what is real.
You manifest by declaring your truth.
You manifest by choosing your fate and sticking to that choice.
âWhat if I decide for Johnny to text me and Johnny never texted me?â
Oh but he did text you. In your imagination remember? And we, the only creator of our realities, decided that that is real. So Johnny texted you. What you mean to say is:
âWhy donât I see a text from Johnny in my physical reality?â
There it is. The ONE error everybody does when getting into manifestation: looking for validation from the physical realm.
âWell obviously I am looking for my manifestation in the 3D world, thatâs what I am manifesting it for Eves!â
That is the moment where I educate you about â¨statesâ¨
When you desire something, like letâs say a new phone, you are doing one thing in particular: you are recognizing the lack of the new phone in your life. (The state of desire/ the state of lack) When you visualize yourself getting a new phone, and you decide that is real now, you inevitably enter the state of being wish-fulfilled, the state of having it. Your job is to stay as loyal as possible to that state. Because your state manifests.
If we visualize the new phone, declare that as real and true, enter the state of wish-fulfillment, then look for confirmation we already disproved our state of being wish-fulfilled because if why are you looking for proof of your truth if you knew it was true? You know for a fact that 2 + 2 equals 4. you are not spending every day proving or disproving that fact, are you?
By searching for confirmation you will re-enter the state of being in lack, because you are actively recognizing and accepting the lack of that desire by looking wether you already have it or not. If you truly declared the imagination as real, why would you search in the 3D for it?
The 3D reality will always conform to the 4D reality anyway so just accept that you have it the minute you visualize it/affirm it/ and so on. And thatâs why searching for something in the 3D is pointless. If the imagination comes first, if that is the reality where everything happens, if that is the place where everything stems from, why are you searching in the goddamn reflection for validation? Your imagination is the top validation you could ask for because it is TRUE. IT IS REAL. Your physical copy of that will always always always only portray what you have created in your mind in the first place! Why are you looking for Johnnyâs text message in the reality that is bound to copy your imagination anyways? Why arenât you more concerned with what you are visualizing and thinking about all day because these things WILL show up regardless? And if Johnnys Text Message didnât manifest YET then why are you believing that reality WHEN IT ALL CAME FROM YOU ANYWAY. YOU CREATE EVERYTHING BRO. If you canât see it yet that doesnât mean it would have never appeared, that just means you entered the state of lack again because you have been searching at a place that always comes second anyway. Do not believe what you see, believe what you decide to be real. YOU DECIDE. YOU YOU YOU AND ONLY YOU.
âSo the trick is to recognize imagination as real?â
Correct.
âWhat happens when I accidentally recognize the lack of something in the 3D? Is my manifestation then lost?â
Nope. As long as you stay loyal to your state, you are not losing anything. If you happen to think âgod I manifested that stupid text from Johnny two hours ago where is it?â and then correct yourself with for example something along the lines of âahhh wait I remember! The DID text me! Two hours ago in my real reality! Silly me!â and thatâs it! No need to overthink it. You decide what is real, so if you donât dwell in the fact that your physical reality doesnât show the picture you want to see, and you keep on re-entering your state of wish-fulfilled, and make it your dominant state, nothing is lost. It is only lost if you decide that it is. If you accept the physical copy as the truth and not the place where it all stems from, the place where your manifestation is already done anyways, then you lose it. But only because you decided to lose it.
âOkay so Evie I want to manifest that Johnny and I get married but he is currently married to another woman and has eleven kids with her. Can I manifest my desire anyway?â
First of all: you can manifest everything
Second of all: because circumstances never matter!
âBut what if I want to manifest to get into Harvard even if they already sent me their rejection letter?â
Even then.
If you are the only creator of your reality, then you have been the one responsible for these circumstances in the first place anyways. If you can put yourself into your circumstances, you can remove yourself out of them just as well.
It is not your job to figure out how your subconscious goes about eliminating your circumstances, your job is to concentrate on what you want to declare as real. And then declare it as real. And stay in your state of wish-fulfilled. The rest will happen by itself. Trust. Me.
âSo how long do you think my manifestation will take to appear in my physical reality?â
Depends. What do you think how long these things should take? Because thatâs what it will boil down to. If you believe that every single one of your manifestations arrives within 2 minutes, then thatâs your reality bro, thatâs whatâs true. If you believe that a manifestation will always take up to a month until it happens well then thatâs your truth. The only limit there is your belief.
It also does not matter wether you are trying to manifest climate change to stop or a cup of coffee. There are no âbig manifestationsâ or âsmall manifestationsâ. Manifestation is manifestation. But you THINK that Johnny texting you is such a huge deal that you MAKE it to something harder to get so you spend more time dwelling in lack so it takes more time to appear. If I told you that manifesting a dandelion on the sidewalk is the same thing as manifesting fucking Obama to kiss you, you wouldnât believe me because you take things like probability into account. Which is totally irrelevant. The question is not âhow probable would this have been to happen to me if I didnât manifest it?â in order to figure out wether something will manifest faster or easier. The better question for this would be âhow much do I want this to happen?â. Because as soon as you decide something is real, it is. And then it copies into your physical world. Without a doubt. Which is exactly why you should never catch yourself get impatient or âwaitâ on your desires to appear in the 3D. The trick is to know it will happen anyways. But everytime you check the 3D or wait for change to happen then you are re-entering state of desire/lack. Thatâs when you are accepting that what the 3D is showing you, must be a fact, EVEN THOUGH YOU DECIDE WHAT IS REAL AND WHAT ISNT IN THE FIRST PLACE.
âso basically how do I manifest a scholarship for example?â
Okay letâs take a test run. I want to manifest a scholarship. So I pick my most favorite method of manifesting which is visualizing (for example). I lay down in my bed, close my eyes, take a few deep breaths and really set the scene as detailed as I can. I imagine myself opening my laptop, clicking on my E-Mail Icon and read through the E-Mail I received in which I got accepted into my dream scholarship. I freak out because I have been waiting for this moment for ever and I am so happy and I let myself feel every single emotion that is connected to my desire being fulfilled. I open my eyes and I am happy because I know that this moment just happened. I enter the state of wish-fulfilled and now I go about my day all proud and confident because I know that since I declared my acceptance into the scholarship as real, it happens anyway. I know it is real, which is why I donât get all worried about it showing up in the 3D and I let go of all the worry and all the anxiety attached to the situation where I still desired that scholarship. Because I donât anymore. Because I have it. Because I decided that that is what is real, so now it is.
Two days have passed and I still have no E-Mail in my account and the old me pops up and thinks âwhere is that scholarship that we manifestedâ I immediately recognize that some part of me seems to think we are lacking something. I correct my behavior and remind myself through re-imagining the scene of me getting accepted to the scholarship and reminding myself consciously âthatâs right! I already have the acceptance to the scholarship! Itâs real, I remember!â and let go of the negative feelings attached to the state of desire. I stay loyal to the state of wish-fulfilled and I do not seek validation from the outside, only from my imagination because I know, that only my imagination is real, only my imagination is to be trusted.
âThis sounds like it takes a lot of practiceâ
It does. Some people get used to this way of thinking easier than others. Some believe their 4D sooner than others do. Some might never accept the 4D as real and never consciously manifest anything ever because they are too set on viewing the 3D as factual and set-in-stone. Others accept the Imagination as truth immediately and have 100k dollars in their bank by tomorrow because they adapted to this manifestation-type-of-thinking faster than you did maybe.
But that is normal. Forreal. Some take years perfecting this skill, and others try it once and then leave it.
But to be fair: if you are manifesting literally everything in your life anyways, wouldnât you rather be able to control it at least? Even if it takes you several days-weeks-months-years to finally get it right? Doesnât that make so much more sense?
This post was inspired by a lot of asks and dms people have been sending me, and I genuinely hope I was able to helpâ¤ď¸
Thank you guys so much for trusting me and supporting my blogâŁď¸
It truly means the world to me, knowing people are listening to my advice and seeing results from thatâŁď¸
10 Ways to Honor Psyche
There is no information about how Psyche was honored in antiquity; therefore, these methods are all my UPGs.
Embrace the Arts & Humanities: Psyche is the Goddess and Personification of the Soul; take some time to study Arts and Humanities. Watch a musical, visit a museum, read up on ancient Philosophy, or do something related to the arts in Her name.
Create a self-care routine in Her honor:Â Self-care is important to Psyche and to your mental well-being. Consider incorporating Her into your regular self-care routine or making a new routine for Her. I've added sigils of the asteroid Psyche to my skin-care products so that whenever I use them, I am reminded of Her. You can do something similar or come up with something that works for you!
Write a letter to Her (or someone you love): This doesn't have to be anything super complicated. I like to write letters to Her about my week. If something needs to be said to a loved one, you can do that in Her honor, too (e.g., gift cards, letters, telling a loved one something important, etc.).
Watch a reality show (or lifestyle videos on YouTube): There's nothing better than watching reality shows, and Psyche seems to enjoy them. It's a fun way to see an exaggerated version of life. You can watch anything ranging from the trashy reality shows, to cooking shows. If those don't pique your interest, you can watch lifestyle videos on YouTube, too, to honor Psyche.
Dedicate some time to meditate in Her name: Even if it is only 10 minutes, practice mindfulness in Her name.
Spend some time doing shadow work/journaling:Â I recommend setting aside, like, 15 minutes and just writing what's on your mind. You can Google shadow work prompts and use one of those or just write about whatever comes to mind. You can dedicate the exercise to Psyche. As a bonus, if you're feeling up to it, you can then read what you wrote to Her (either aloud or in your head).
Hang out with your loved ones: Just spend time with the people you love. You don't need to do anything special or fancy. If you love someone, you should spend time with them. Psyche would be happy if you did that in Her honor.
Spend time unwinding and relaxing: Sometimes, doing nothing is harder than being ultra-productive. You don't always /NEED/ to be doing something in Her honor. If you can't take a break, do so in Her name. You and Her could both probably use it.
Dress up in Her Honor (even if you're dressing up to stay home): Psyche loves nice things and feeling pretty. Put together that cute outfit you've been thinking of, and try on those shoes that are a bit bolder than you'd usually like; dress up and expand your horizon some. **If you can't afford to experiment with your clothes, consider making a vision or mood board of the style you'd like to try.
Learn about a new/different culture: Psyche is the Personification of the Soul and seems very interested in learning about people. Consider learning about a different culture than the one you live in. It may be the culture of your ancestors or a culture that just seems interesting to you. Consider watching videos on different cultures or reading scholarly papers with primary sources.
I tried to list some unique ways to Honor & Worship Psyche that I use in my practice. There are a bunch of other lists that come with different suggestions. If you haven't already, I recommend @/khaire-traveler's Subtle Worship of Psyche, and @/differentsoulsweets' Introduction to Psyche blog. Star and dot divider by @/cafekistune
Rekindling at the Spa
18+
Summary: Spencer has an evening at the spa as per his doctors orders, and meets up with a girl he met at Penelope's over a year ago. This time he convinces himself not to leave without getting her phone number, but he ends up getting a little bit more.
Pairing: Spencer Reid/Reader
Category: Fluff, smut (like hardly though)
Warnings: 18+, kissing, making out, semi-public (no ones around) grinding, coming untouched/in pants
Word Count: 3.7k
a/n: inspired by my recent trip to the spa where i realized just how single i am. this is my first time writing something spicier than making out, so it's not a lot and just at the end, go easy on me lol
Also on AO3
The last thing Spencer Reid wanted to do was spend his evening at the hydrotherapy spa. Germs from the water of hot tubs could make you sick if consumed, and so could the vapour that comes off the water. Not to mention the possibility of a rash due to the chemicals used. But it was his doctor's orders. Apparently his own doctoral status was not good enough to sway them to let him come back to work early and skip this step.Â
There were many steps he had to complete as part of his recovery process; resting his injured leg, physical therapy, changes to his diet, therapy for his mental health. And the dreaded âspa relaxationâ.
Now, most doctors probably wouldnât prescribe a day at the spa as something to do as part of recovery, but Spencerâs doctor knew him well. He knew that throughout the last month, even though Spencer had completed most of his steps, he wasnât relaxing through any of it. And his doctor was correct. Spencerâs brain had been working double time, reading twice the amount of books he usually did in a day while he was immobile elevating his injured leg. Reading up on new techniques for profiling and offering tips to the BAU when they worked a local case.
His doctor could tell that his inability to relax his brain, therefore relaxing his body, was the last step in holding him back from complete recovery.
So here he was, entering a Nordic hydrotherapy spa, where he was not allowed to bring in any cell phones, tablets, or hold loud conversations with anyone. And while it was acceptable to bring books in to read, Spencer didnât want to risk dropping one in the water and ruining it. So he was about to be forced to put his self meditation techniques to use.Â
After changing into his swim shorts, putting on the complimentary robe and locking away his belongings, Spencer stepped out of the main building into the frigid evening air. He breathed in the scent of salt, chlorine, and eucalyptus from the nearby steam room. Hidden speakers in the plant beds around the property played out relaxing spa style music. Spencer had to admit, despite his reservations regarding germs, he already did feel quite relaxed.
The steam coming off the hot pools seemed to blanket the grounds in silence. It wasnât that busy, but Spencer spotted a few people relaxing in the pools and walking in-between sections of the spa grounds.Â
Upon his check in tonight, the kind lady at the front desk informed him how to use the spa for maximum relaxation and hydrotherapy benefits. She recommended he sit in a hot pool for 10 to 15 minutes, take a plunge in the cold pool for at least 15 seconds or as long as he could handle, and then relax in a sauna, steam room, or relaxation room before continuing the process a few times.
The property was large, with 4 different hot pools, 3 different cold plunge pools, 2 rooms for wood burning saunas, the eucalyptus steam room, and multiple chairs dotting the ground surrounding fireplaces where you could sit and relax. Without putting too much thought to it, Spencer hung up his robe near the closest hot pool and stepped into the burning water.Â
The change in temperature stung his cold toes as they started to warm up. The water was only up to his waist as he waded through past a few couples sitting to the sides. He made his way to the back of the pool where it was blissfully empty and took a seat. Since he was so tall sitting on the built in seats along the edge of the pool, the water only went up to mid chest. But the rest of his exposed skin felt refreshed with the cool air blowing over him. A good contrast to the hot water covering the rest of his body.
Spencer leaned his head back and closed his eyes, took a deep breath, and tried to shut his brain off. It worked for a few minutes, before he heard a couple a few feet over whispering sweet nothings to each other. It just made Spencer start thinking about his own lacklustre love life.
With his job in the BAU there wasn't that much opportunity and time for a relationship. Sure, some of his co-workers had figured it out. Like JJ and Will for instance. Spencer had seen how difficult it was for Morgan to hold down a relationship with their crazy work hours as well.
He hadn't really put that much effort into a relationship, though. Part of the reason was that he just didn't have the time. Some of the cases kept them away from home for weeks at a time. Sometimes to the point where he really didn't know how his friends and co-workers were able to keep it up. He was the type of guy who wanted to get to know someone, be around them lots in the early stages, and that was just too hard with work.
Spencer jolted out of his daydream when someone splashed into the seat next to him.
"Is this seat taken?" The voice belonged to a pretty girl, who if he had to guess was maybe just a few years younger than him. She looked vaguely familiar, but he couldn't seem to place where he recognized her from. "You're Dr. Spencer Reid, right?" She asked.
"Yes, that's me," he replied with a furrowed brow, wracking his brain on why her big brown eyes looked like they knew him as well.
Thankfully she caught on to his confusion. "I'm y/n. Penelope's friend from book club. We met a year ago at her place when she had a viewing party for the season finale of Love Is Blind. I almost didn't go because I really don't watch reality TV, but I had just moved to the area and I wanted to try and make some friends."
Spencer remembered her now. Back then at the party she had her hair down in unruly curls and it was the colour of fire engine red. Now her hair was tied back to stay out of the water and it was the colour of midnight black. He wasn't one to forget a face, or forget much of anything really. But something about a dramatic change in hair colour and style had the Clark Kent effect on him. Maybe it was because he was in a pretty decent state of relaxation.
"I remember you," he said, nodding his head in recognition. "I also didn't want to go to that party but Penelope is hard to say no to."
Y/n laughed, "Yes she is, isn't she. It's good though. Because of her persistence I was able to make a few friends that night. And on multiple other nights as well. Penelope frequently tries to set me up on dates." She was talking pretty quietly as per spa rules, and it would have been hard to hear if she hadn't sat close and leaned in while she talked. Normally Spencer would have backed away, but something about her presence was soothing. Or maybe that was just the water jets from the pool shooting into his back.
"So what brings you to the spa tonight?" Spencer asked her. He might have met her back then at the party, but they hadn't said many words to each other. He remembered being slightly intimidated by her fiery hair and bubbly personality and after their initial introduction he snuck away with his glass of juice to browse Pen's book collection.
"Actually, it was a birthday gift from Penelope!" Y/n smiled.
"Oh, happy birthday." Spencer smiled back at her. Why was he intimidated back then, he thought to himself. She was so beautiful and so nice, and so far fairly easy to talk to, it seemed.
"Thank you. But it's actually not until next month. Penelope just told me this was the only night she could get a reservation and that when my actual birthday happened she would buy me a cake," y/n laughed.Â
Spencer pursed his lips in confusion. When he booked his reservation on his doctor's orders, there looked to have been multiple available times from now until the end of the year. The only day that was sold out was Thanksgiving weekend.
"When did she give you the gift with the reservation in it?" He asked y/n, with a hint of scepticism in his voice.
"About 3 days ago I think it was," she answered. About 3 days ago is when Spencer called up Penelope to rant to her about being forced to go to this spa. Was it possible Pen had given Y/n the gift as an excuse to try and set them up? Back at the party he had gotten the vibe when she introduced them that she wanted them to become friends. But Spencer had never gotten her number or email, and figured it just wasn't meant to be. Although how could it be, when he actively avoided her most of that night.
"What a coincidence that we're both here on the same night," Spencer told her.
"I know, right? I wasn't completely sure that you were you when I saw you sitting over here. But you're a hard one to forget, Dr. Reid," y/n said. Was that a blush he saw forming on her cheeks, or was she just getting too warm from the water.
"You can just call me Spencer. I really don't make anyone use doctor unless we're at work," he chuckled.
"Will do, Spencer. I hope you don't mind that I came over to sit with you. I can leave if you want the relaxation of being alone." She started to slide away from her seat slowly, giving him the opportunity to tell her she didn't need to leave. Which is exactly what he did.
"I don't mind. It's kind of nice to have company. I didn't realize how many people went to the spa with their partners," he told her.Â
"Well, perfect. We can experience this spa together then. So how come you didn't come here with your partner?" Y/n asked slyly. Spencer could feel his face heat up with the attention turned to himself.
"No partner. I actually had to come here by doctor's orders. I got shot in the leg last month, and as the last part of recovery my doctor wanted me to relax more and figured what better way to force me to relax than to send me to the spa.â
âOh my gosh. Iâm tempted to ask if youâre okay, but it seems like you are, since youâre sitting here. I had no idea your job could lead to such violence,â Y/n exclaimed.Â
âEvery day is something different. They usually keep me off the field working from the office or police stations, but even then you never know what could happen,â Spencer explained.
âWow. Okay, sorry. This is supposed to be relaxing and here I am bringing up work talk. What do you say we take a plunge into the cold?â Y/n asked with a grin.
This was probably the experience at the spa he was least likely to enjoy, but he followed her out of the water and next door to the cold pool. It was completely empty and Spencer was not surprised. Y/n grabbed his hand, sending a shock through his body, as they stood at the top of the stairs to the pool.
âItâs pretty likely that one of us is going to wimp out once our feet hit the water. So if need be, we have to drag the other person in, okay?â She said as she looked up at him. His voice got caught in his throat as he looked down at her and all he could do was nod in agreement.Â
With a deep breath in, together they stepped onto the first step. It was so cold Spencer felt like his toes would fall off in a second. However he didnât even get a second thought to think about stepping back out before y/n fell forward into the water, pulling him with her. He had to grab onto her hips for stability so he didnât end up falling on top of her in the 3 feet of water.Â
âItâs so cold,â Y/n gasped out.
It might have been 15 seconds, it might have been 5 minutes, but Spencer felt lost in time as he held Y/n in his arms in the freezing cold water. He didnât even feel that cold in the places where Y/nâs skin touched his. Slowly, as if held down by some invisible force, he removed his hands from her hips and grabbed her hand this time to help her out of the water.
Feeling a new burst of energy from the cold shock, Spencer helped Y/n into her robe before putting on his, then wordlessly grabbed her hand and led her to one of the saunas. Inside, they were met with a blast of heat as Spencer guided Y/n to the back bench. Every seat in the sauna faced a wall made of glass that overlooked a small lake with a fountain cascading in the middle. As he relaxed into his seat, Y/n decided to lay out on the bench beside him and use his thigh as a head rest.Â
Neither of them said a word as they gazed out the window, watching the birds fly by and the ducks swim in the lake.Â
Spencer thought back to the night of Penelopeâs party. After he had pushed himself to the wall to avoid interacting with people, he did end up watching from afar as Y/n made her way around talking to all the guests. He might have initially felt intimidated, but he was also fascinated with her. Heâd seen a lot of different people with his job, and heâd seen people with colourfully dyed hair before as well, but something about her red curls just drew in his eyes and he couldnât take them back.
She was beautiful, enchanting even, and he wanted to get her phone number. But then he had thought back to their last case. Where they had been gone for 16 days in a row. He had watched JJ as she video called Will and her kids any chance they got. Watched Hotch take numerous phone calls from his son. Even Morgan escaped for private chats with Savannah. He wasnât sure if that was something he would be able to handle. So eventually he said goodnight to Penelope, left the party, and left any thoughts he had about Y/n behind as well.
Now that Penelope had schemingly gotten her back into his life, he was determined to make sure he got her number before leaving again.Â
Spencer and Y/n enjoyed the spa amenities for another couple hours, cycling through the recommended steps while chatting quietly or relaxing in silence. Despite not doing much, they started to feel tired from the heated pools and saunas before eventually agreeing to meet outside in the parking lot after they got changed so they could say a proper goodbye.
Spencer rushed through changing, not wanting to take too long in case Y/n decided she didnât want to stay, and made it outside in record time. He stood off to the side at the parking lot entrance, waiting for her with his heart racing. It took her a little bit longer, but eventually he saw her walking down the path.Â
Her hair was down now, damp and a little frizzy from her curls trying to poke through. Wearing a simple black zip up sweater and black leggings, she looked cozy but also like she was about to rob a bank. She smiled at him when she reached his spot, taking his hand in hers to lead him to where she parked. The lot had almost emptied, leaving mostly staff vehicles and the last few remaining spa guests wanting to get every minute out of their visit as they could. Even with the empty lot, Y/n led Spencer to her car, a little black Honda, parked alone in the corner lit up only by the bright moon in the sky.Â
âThanks for letting me hang out with you tonight, Spencer,â Y/n told him when they stopped beside her car. She didnât move to unlock it, opting instead to stand there with her hand still clasped in his.
âOf course. It was really lovely to see you again, Y/n,â said Spencer. Okay, he thought to himself, now is the time to do it. Bite the bullet and ask for her number. âWould you, maybe, be willing to exchange numbers and we can plan to go out for coffee some time soon?â
Y/n broke into a smile. âI would love that,â she said before reciting her number. She knew he would remember it, if Penelopeâs constant chatter about how amazing Spencerâs memory is was to be true.Â
âAwesome. So, I guess Iâll talk to you later?â Spencer moved to head back to his own vehicle but was stopped by a hand placed on the centre of his chest.
âYeah. Or,â said Y/n, âMaybe we could do this?â
Before he could ask what âthisâ was, she used the hand on his chest to push him back against the door of her car. Then she leaned in, rising up onto her toes to try and match his height, and placed her lips on his. It was quick, but enough to leave Spencer breathless, before she pulled away the slightest bit to look into his eyes.
âIs this okay?â she asked, and when he mumbled out a yes, nodding his head, she wasted no time going back in.
Their lips crashed together in an instant, almost too eager to finally be getting what theyâve both been craving all night. Y/n removed her hand from his chest to bring both of them into his hair, feeling the damp curls and giving them a little tug. Spencer brought his arms around her waist tightly, bringing her in closer to help relieve the strain of standing on her toes.Â
He couldnât believe this was happening, and in a parking lot. But he wouldnât change a thing. Y/nâs hands made their way down to the back of his neck, before she brought them to his jaw. He let out a groan when she pulled on his bottom lip with her teeth, before their tongues collided with one another. Â
Spencer brought his hands down even further, to grip the soft area at the back of her thigh just underneath her butt. He used his new grip to pull her up higher, spinning them around so that it was her back pressed against the car this time. She wrapped her legs around him to hold on as Spencer moved one of his hands up to her face, running his fingers along her jaw before finally pushing her hair back away from her neck. He broke away from her mouth to trail kisses along her neck, stopping to suck or nip at areas that drew a soft moan from her lips. He made his way down to her chest, where she had left part of the sweater unzipped.Â
When he pulled back on the sweater he stopped with a groan, breathing deeply as he held her closer and grew tighter in his pants. Where he was expecting to see some sort of lace bra, instead he was met with nothing. She wasnât wearing anything under the sweater. Hungrily, he opened her sweater more and he attached himself to the soft swell of her breast. Kissing, sucking, and gently biting.Â
Without even realizing it, they started to move against each other. Spencer rolled his hips against hers, seeking that friction but focusing his attention on the skin between his lips.Â
âOh, fuck.â Y/n threw her head back in a moan as Spencer finally attached his mouth to the hard nub that was waiting for attention. He swirled his tongue around as he sucked on the sensitive area. âThat feels so good.â she groaned. She brought her hands up to tangle them in his hair and hold him in place, only letting him move when he wanted to show her other side some love as well.Â
It was difficult to move much against the car, but Spencer was hitting her in all the right places. Y/n could feel a familiar welcomed pressure building in her core and she gripped her legs tighter around him.
âSpencer,â y/n breathed out. âIâm close.â
He lifted his head enough to look at her. Her head back and eyes squeezed shut in pleasure. âYeah?â he asked and she nodded her head while trying to move her hips faster against his.Â
Spencer ground into her with a new purpose now. Paying more attention to the moves from his hips, he went back to sucking on her breast. This time he brought his hand to palm the other one. Squeezing and feeling the fullness of it in his hand. He rolled and pinched her nipple between his fingers at the same time as he gently grazed his teeth over the other one. It was enough to send Y/n over the edge, with Spencer right behind her.Â
Spencerâs thrusts grew short until eventually they stopped as they came down from their high. He brought her in for another kiss, lazily moving his lips against hers while they got their breathing under control. Finally, Y/n unwrapped her legs from around him and he let her go.
âHoly shit. I canât believe we just did that,â she said with a suddenly shy smile and glanced up at him. He looked down at her like he was seeing an angel.Â
âYeah,â he breathed out. He gripped the edges of her sweater and zipped it up tight to her neck. âWhat do you say we skip the coffee and go right back to my place?â
âI like the way you think. Lead the way.â
