DO YOU KNOW THE IMPLICATION OF THIS.... realistically, one of the first words of babies are referring to their mothers and the last "true parent" that held Silver was his mother, Princess Leia, but here baby Silver called out for his father, and Lilia didnt taught him that😭

Now these words might be calling out to Lilia now, but I'm also thinking since TWST is a world where babies can recall words or songs they heard even when theyre "not concious yet", I was thinking baby Silver heard this word when he was still with Dawn 😭😭😭 Imagine Dawn holding this baby and guiding him to speak his first words like "papa"... and thats like Dawn's last moment with Silver... since this was still infant Silver, I was thinking this memory occured when Silver was adopted by Lilia only a week or months ago 😭✨ so its still possible that baby silver was reacting based on his past (which can potentially be baby Silver is remembering Dawn through Lilia in this scene)

Other observations are just absolutely FASCINATING to see Guanyin orchestrate everything. She’s the one that suggests Erlang. She knows how to get Erlang to go fight SWK because you bet that dude ignores summons from his uncle. She knows how to peak his interest, knows he won’t kill—did you know he wasn’t trying to kill monkey king? Most of the other people who fought him fought with the intent to capture or KILL but Erlang just wanted to fight. Also dude the way Erlang’s strategy was at 500% I could ramble on about how the fight went because it was like, Erlang tells people where to go and what to do, then goes to fight. Monkey King matches everything he does until his monkeys get scared and then he’s APPALLED by that and starts running away. Erlang chases him, monkey king just LEAVES the entrapment, goes and pays Erlangs house a visit, Erlang pulls up, fights him all the way back to Flowerfruit mountain, then tells everyone to stand on guard, all his guys make a circle around them fight ring style to keep monkey king from escaping and they go back to fighting. Guanyin looks down and goes “ohhhh y’know I’d love to help….. I’ll throw my vase down….” And Lao Zi steps in going “Nono your vase will break I’ll do it.” Dude it’s SO WILD how she orchestrates everything. Bro hits monkey king in the head with his bracelet (diamond snare,) monkey king gets bit by dog, then gets tied the heck up and stabbed and they gottem. Like….bro, and then Erlang’s like y’all go home i got this I’ll take him back—DUDE MY MIND IS WHIRLING, listen this is a really really good book y’all should read it. I’m just rambling this isn’t a real analysis post or anything I’m just WOUGH BRAIN FULL, Guanyin is the source of so many things, she’s the reason Sun Wukong was captured, the reason he’s alive, the reason he is freed later, she’s his defender, his doom, she’s where he goes when no one else listens to him, she’s the reason he started a redemption without him knowing, i’M THINKING REAL INTENTLY ABOUT THIS. I don’t remember which translation this is but OUGHHHH it’s crazy.

Verbs conjugations in spanish are so specific it's not necessary to write the pronoun to indicate if it's first, second or third person.

It would eat you alive = te comería vivo.

Is a very direct translation but without "eso" (it) because is not needed.

However, it/eso generally has an objectified connotation which makes sense as Bill distances himself from the monster so Ford makes no connection.

But in spanish, since no pronoun is used, it feels more like a hint than a cover-up.

Sometimes I hate making choices, you know? Even miniscule ones. Choosing what to read is even a struggle sometimes. Or choosing what to watch on TV. Because there's too much. There's at least 5 different options for every scenario, it feels like. And it's easy to get paralyzed by indecision. I've had it happen multiple times lately when I try to read. I don't know if that means my comics hyperfixation is slowly ending, or if it just means i'm suffering regular boredom and indecision. Either way, it can suck to deal with it.

And you know, it's not just a book thing. I feel it with tv too. I don't keep up with everything as well as I could. I'm still behind on Bob's Burgers, I never finished Batman 1966, I have a bunch of other things to watch that i've never seen, etc. It really sucks. Because once these thoughts start, they fester and linger and mess with you.

Idk how unpopular this opinion might be, but am I the only one who thinks both Leona and Jamil's plans on their respective books were stupid and pointless??

Like Leona refuses Malleus' retirement from Magical Shift, but then tries to incapacitate him and his team? So why didn't he just let him retire in the first place?? What was the point in refusing then?

And then Jamil tries to get Kalim expelled? Honestly, did he really think that Kalim's parents wouldn't force him to leave as well so he could keep up his work as his servant? What makes him think they'll allow him to stay if Kalim gets sent back? In general I disagree with Jamil's angle for his plan, but this part in particular just doesn't make sense to me

In conclusion, I'm not outright saying this is bad writing (it could be, idk), but my in-universe explanation is that, since overblots happen due to a poor mental health state, this translated for Leona and Jamil, characters who are depicted as smart and with great critical-thinking abilities, into poor decision-making and an incapacity to look at the bigger picture. These two characters who have unhealthy coping mechanisms to avoid their problems and emotions suddenly get too emotional and are unable to think straight

common misconception i see about claudia is that she's a grown woman trapped inside a child's body. while this isn't technically incorrect, it leaves out a major aspect of her character that isn't often addressed and serves to make her all the more tragic. see claudia is less a woman who's been forced into a child's body and more a child who is and will always be a child no matter how long she lives. don't misunderstand, she's blindingly intelligent, she certainly has the intellect of a grown adult, but she does not and never will possess the wisdom and maturity of an actual adult. all of the vampires in the series, claudia included, essentially exist in a state of limbo as though frozen in time, their organs petrified and unable to grown or age. in claudia's case specifically her brain ceased to finish developing at 14. her frontal lobe will never come in, because its development got cut off while she was still a child. it's why she often makes choices that aren't always rational, or why she might be blind to the intentions of others, namely the parisian coven. its part of why she can't see that she's being toyed with, and why she has such a desire for community, a desire to fit in and be seen as mature. that's the thing that makes her so tragic to me, she wants nothing more than to be seen as an adult, even though, in the eyes of both mortals and her immortal peers, she is not and never will be one. if anything, her attempts to do so will always and forever be seen as childish, like a little girl trying on her mother's oversized high heels for the first time.
