Netanyahu has returned to war, returned to killing and destruction again. Our tent is in a border area. We couldn't even sit in it. We had to work and clean it. Now we're going to leave it. Where will we live? I am sick today from the intensity of fear of the Israeli occupation's dog strikes. I could not do anything for my sick parents who needed medicine, nutrition and food, and I could not do anything. They killed up to 1000 martyrs and more in a matter of hours, so what about the wounded? This is our chance. I am here now. I don’t know. I might die today, tomorrow, or even now. I genuinely feel ashamed that all I can do is write words while more and more Arab people die - but momentum for fundraisers is one of very few things any of us can do at the moment

I have enough of a following to know that we can make a truly big difference if this didn’t simply go ignored bc people decided they’re bored now

a few of the latest pages from my sketchbook .... 🌿

#YIPPEE!#can you tell it's been NICE WEATHER and ive been MENTALLY WELL and have also been able to draw outside a bit #and today i finally finished a watercolour study i started a couple of weeks ago and have been working on here and there #it's from a photo i took of like a room in a museum vivarium #as well as the frog/lizard tanks displayed to visitors you could also see through some glass into like their tiny 'office'/research space?#and just the aesthetic of the little computer desk surrounded by tanks full of luscious plants and Things was interesting to me #i haven't really captured it here but i loved the vibrancy of it irl like the harsh fluorescent lights and bright yellow green plants #also just the little details you could see in the photo like all the little wires and cables and the notes on the desk and idk it was like #just a fascinating window into something #i don't think my study looks particularly good or does it justice BUT it was definitely a good exercise #because i haven't used watercolours properly for a while especially not in small detail so it was good discipline to do this #journal

these are most of the sketchbook pages ive done so far this year ..

#YAY #ive done a fair amount considering i started it a month ago and ive been quite busy #but what im pleased about is that aside from the red dwarf collage piece i posted there's nothing else in here that ive posted online #until now anyway lol #i enjoy posting of course but im trying to move away from Making Art With Posting In Mind #and just Make Art and Post It Some Time If I Feel Inclined #i will always crave attention and notifications eventually BUT it's good to just make stuff for the fun of it and then when i get a moment #post stuff that im happy with #im trying to do more studies right now as opposed to just fanart #and also maintain the collage/journal stuff but more in an ugly way/just plonking receipts down #also i started doing the thing of using up leftover acrylic paint from other activities by just covering a page with it #im pretty happy with how this book is going overall #ive made peace with the fact that i cannot have an ugly sketchbook i.e. a truly messy spontaneous sketchbook #if i have supremely ugly (to me) stuff in there it vexes me #BUT i am managing to keep a balance and be more spontaneous/not overthink every page #whilst still making every page something that looks okay and is sometimes complementary of another page #anyway. what's she even on about.#journal #sketchbook

random rimster moment .. bedtime beverages routine or something ... (although with their sleeping habits it could be rimmer's 5am morning coffee and lister's 5am bedtime hot chocolate . etc)

#red dwarf #dave lister #arnold rimmer #rimster #is the pose a bit sweet to be canon .. who knows. is the pose anatomically possible within the confines of their bunks... who knows. maybe #they're on a couch or something but i wasn't going to ruin a quite passable image by attempting a background. void it is #yawns. i actually did a lot of drawing this weekend yesterday+earlier today i was doing some studies of stills from a film and generally #practising painting + stuff. then i ended up finishing the day with the sillies<3 i mainly wanted to draw their fancy dressing gowns tbh ..#btw you might say lister would have a bedtime lager not hot choccy but im thinking its hot chocolate with a dash of baileys. except they ra #out of baileys 3 million years ago so it is in fact hot chocolate with a dash of leopard lager. etc

was going to make a joke post like. well ive decided i hate art im going to give it up and devote all of my waking earthly hours to a soulless corporate finance job and never touch a pencil again <- she is trying to draw legs and feet . Etc. But actually it's okay now because ive managed to correct my errors and the feet look mostly alright. the world is beautiful again and art prevails once more

like. im sketching this photo i took (with the aim of then painting it) and i chose this one because i thought Well It's A Pretty Simple Picture Just Some Houses On A Beach but it's like um. even though it's literally just an average image from a beach when you Zoom in and Look at it it's like ohh ok there are one billion trillion textures and colours and lines of different types. the block colours of the house fronts and (almost) of the sky. the one million blades of grass which contain one million shades of green/brown/khaki. the indefinite swooshy shapes of the grass. but also the angular solid shadows on the buildings. the triangles and squares and rectangles of the windows. the bits of reflected houses in the water. the discolouration on the steps. the little black squiggly spots of shadows from the railings. i could go on. it's endless. just how am i supposed to ever represent this on an a4 piece of paper. etc. ......... !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

#sorry. all these d/avid l/ynch posts on the dash are getting me thinking about the BEAUTIFUL WORLD and its TEXTURES

Wow....I Forgot How Many Millions Of Shapes And Textures Make Up Our Beautiful World... <- she is horrendously out of practice when it comes to landscape/scenery and is a bit overwhelmed but it's fine because she is experiencing the joy and beauty also

#lately its just the human figure i focus on in terms of observational/figurative drawing.....which contains multitudes in itself obviously #but it's nowhere near as complicated as scenery #tfw my silly cartoon fanart posts take like 1-3 hrs tops but to actually practice detailed landscape drawings/paintings i need SO much time #</3

new year new RADICAL me making HUGE CHANGES in my ARTISTIC PRACTICE that will take me to NEW HEIGHTS of CREATIVITY <- got a new sketchbook that's landscape instead of portrait

#I WANT TO DO SO MUCH ART THIS YEAR #I HARDLY DID MUCH IN OCTOBER - DECEMBER #i want to paint more and im thinking of doing studies of photographs ive taken because that takes care of the What Do I Paint problem #but also i dont have to copy them exactly i can still get freaky with it #also i impulse bought a really fancy grey toned a5 sketchbook which i didn't Need but it was half price #and i can hopefully do some nice pencil or pastel work in there #these motivations and affirmations will definitely last btw. i promise
