kulturschätze der welt
über 200 meisterwerke von der frühzeit bis heute
sachbuch
erschienen 2024
im dorling kindersley verlag
isbn: 978-3-8310-4823-6

Day Five!!! Now featuring some of the suitcase fam in the wilderness!!
Haven't drawn Click in a while, but I'm glad I can still draw him well!! Marcus lent the scarf to him temporarily cuz he was going to stay in the wilderness almost all day,, cant let him get too cold!! (even if he's a ghost😭)
Sonetto and Vertin encounter a mysterious snowman out in the wilderness, which Vertin gladly adds the finishing touch!! (The suitcase kids made it early in the morning, using some plants provided by miss Druvis :D )
Poor Zima was woken up,, he needs some shut-eye sometimes😞
Thanks to @scrunkly-week for making the prompts and just making an overall enjoyable event!! :D

Moreover, Caesar was not satisfied to be overlooked at first by Sulla, who was busy with a multitude of proscriptions, but he came before the people as candidate for the priesthood, although he was not yet much more than a stripling. To this candidacy Sulla secretly opposed himself, and took measures to make Caesar fail in it, and when he was deliberating about putting him to death and some said there was no reason for killing a mere boy like him
Plutarch, Caesar
sulla's fight with caesar is extremely funny, but also very Something considering how much of sulla you see reflected in caesar's later actions. breaking news: grown man picks fight with teenager, more at 11.

Trade you, Billy says, like they’re in elementary school. Or maybe people do still trade lunches around here, Marcus isn’t sure. All he’s sure of is that Dad mixed up their lunches again and gave him three sets of celery sticks instead of a sandwich, or cookie, or anything else, which is not enough for anyone to live off of, much less a teenager. Billy doesn’t look judgmental, though. He looks like he gets it. He offers an eggplant parm for a handful of celery and a packet of peanut butter, and he looks pleased about it. Like a friend.

Plutarch, Crassus 7 (trans. Rex Warner)
caesar's in his mid 20s here, crassus is in his late 30s. early 40s. I did the math for their ages two days ago and didn't. uh. bother to write it down on account of being Very Tired. it's a 15 year age difference because their respective birth dates are easy numbers to remember, but if I have to add in another math step related to specific years events happened, I'm going to walk into a forest.
anyway! this comic was a certifiable creative nightmare on account of it was originally. going to be something goofy, it was supposed to end with crassus going (don draper voice) I don't think about you at all. but every time I tried to start over to get that ending, it would veer back into this territory. so after a full week of wrestling with it, I finally let the dramatics win. and you know what, having it cut off mid sentence is fun, actually!! might do it again sometime tbh
OH and that panel of crassus pouring caesar a drink is a callback to the first time I made a comic focusing on them

Gabriel all but crash-landed in the Wagamese front yard. Tom and Roland, who were drawn out by the unusual noise, were shocked to find him at their door at that hour, and even more shocked at the awful news he brought. Without a moment's hesitation, the men of the Smithy mobilized and moved out to look for Annika.
Meanwhile, Marcus had flown over to the Gladwyns' to get Phillip. The red-haired boy was mortified when he heard what had happened, instantly jumping on Marcus' broom to join him in the search. Riding shotgun on the shaky ride had nearly cost him his head last time, but his fear of flying paled in comparison to the fear he felt for Annika's safety.
Soon, half of Wyvern's Bay was out on the streets, searching every corner of the city and surrounding area for the lost girl, calling out her name.
Hidden away in a cave deep in the wild woods, Annika couldn't hear them.
