This isn’t a comedy video this is a straight forward explanation of how the Republicans turned themselves around after Nixon by recruiting mainly southern racists. Then it explains how low-IQ Crooked Donald came along and was able to capture the hearts and minds of people as dumb as him. Speaking on a third grade level he appealed to the poorly educated and low IQ voters by appearing to be a successful version of them. He gave them a voice and they admire his ability to get away with virtually anything leading them to be unflappable members of his cult.
I highly recommend this 6 minute youtube video. It very plainly and succinctly explains the rise of the new Republican Party, post-Nixon, and the rise of Trumpism.

Tress scratched the best itch for me, I’ve been craving a good fairy tale and it was just perfect. I kept slipping so hard into the fairy tale aspects that I kept getting caught by surprise whenever a cosmere thing stopped beating around the bush and revealed itself, actually. While I’m sure that wasn’t fully the intention, it was a really fun way to read some brandermansanderman coming fresh off of sunlit man and how intensely locked in I was with the Connections. Genuinely Tress is such a fun little romp. I love girls who sail in fucked up seas and this is a genre I want more of please thank you.

truly if you think tlt is positive about or even neutral on christianity (and catholicism specifically) i think you need to go back and reread tbh. because in the very first book we learn that this is a series where two people murder 200 children that were placed in their care because they believe their religion justifies or even compels it. the real-life parallels are almost too on the nose.

thinking about barton doing baby talk to his kids, even though he was eighteen when marcy gave birth to both matilda + louis and thus was a COMPLETELY different person, is honestly both super surreal to me and also surprisingly... sort of makes sense. because barton can NOT bring himself to be mean around babies; i mean at all, and this man loved his kids so much, which 😭 well — let me just say that his behavior has greatly changed since then, to say the least. though barton still believes he loves them in his 'own way'

In today’s episode of “climate change is affecting us faster than we thought it would back in 2000″, France and Belgium are having a winter drought, our groundwaters aren’t filling up and we might be fucked in summer :) March will be a decisive month but certain regions in France have already had to implement water restrictions :)

so…somehow topaz is not only managing to embody “rampant capitalist” but also “insidious colonizer”???
like babe maybe try not launching an armed alien invasion of their home threatening to extract every single resource of potential value. or like. dumping a 700yr old debt on a planet that has been entirely isolated for most of that.
hey speaking of how it’s been 700 years since this supposed loan was made—why are you sweeping in to demand hundreds of years of interest on a loan you didn’t care enough to collect more than 400 years ago…conveniently AFTER you decided that maybe there was something to exploit here after all?
like goddamn when they announced “topaz and numby” i thought the pig was supposed to be NUMBY and yet Here We Are

As someone who still hasn't watch the show, my headcanon for how Vox died is that he was a shitty sales rep in an electronics store. He'd get paid extra for every thing he sold, but his genuine marketing tactics lead to barely one sale a day, and he started making false promises so more people would by the shit he's trying to sell (in a store that had no refunds). One customer finally decided to sue him for blatant false advertising, getting his company in massive trouble, and thus getting his position terminated. In a fit of rage, he broke in to his, now former, job and threw a hissy fit, kicking and smashing. He knocked over a TV that fell splat on his head, instantly killing him.

“I never don’t tell the truth. And I think that’s something that if Taylor Swift, who is my friend, if Taylor got anything from me, that’s what she got. I don’t ever lie in my songs — if you broke up with me, I don’t put I broke up with you. I tell the truth, always,” Nicks says.

genuinely considering making easy-to-read pamphlets/posts about some STEM concepts, specifically about genetic engineering (CRISPR), how GMOs actually work, what epigenetics are and/or what popular lab procedures basically do. However. That would be like, incredibly niche and science-y. And this is also basically a fandom blog. And unless they’re fanfic writers trying to write a scientist or something I don’t think people come to tumblr to read this kind of stuff. Maybe… if I make them with anime characters…?
