Most Disturbing Animated Kids Show Competition!

have you ever seen something from a children’s show that was so disturbing it made you think “this was made for kids???” Well, we’re going to vote on which show is the most disturbing! disturbing in this context refers to moments, themes, and concepts which are scary/disquieting/nightmare fuel.

There will be four rounds of voting. The first round will have sixteen brackets, the second will have eight, the third will have four, and the fourth will have two. For the first and second round, each bracket will be up for twenty-four hours. I will decide how long each bracket in the third and fourth will be up as we approach the date.

My criteria for this list was ‘western animated shows that started after the year 2000 and are explicitly for audiences 14 years old or younger.’ I have not watched all of these shows, but I have watched over half. If one of your faves didn’t make the list, I’m truly sorry. Tell me which show and I’ll include it if I do something like this again. By ‘most disturbing,’ I mean the show with the most disturbing concepts, themes, and/or moments.

Charcadet's Wonder Garden

This is somewhat a challenge from my mom. She wanted me to draw some vegetables and flowers from her garden, but with the Charcadet hiding inside. She wanted me to do a drawing in the same style that "The Charcadet's woods". For once, I am really very satisfied with this drawing, it inspired me a lot.

Garden harmony – fantasy adventure

Pixel art for today based on videogame Elfaria II - The Quest of the Meld for game console Super Nintendo. It was a whole age of so titles role playing game, 16 bit, green grass and adventures! Dragons and sorcerers, mysterious lands. And all the time for searchers of adventures it was opened a whole world! And, of course, to train characters and grind. So, ahead to the fields, lets run!

And this is my drawing for such theme. All the world – it is a big green garden. And everything is good here. Everyday it is sun and summer. There are only a strange ruins. And something underground catacombs. Such a steps into the underground world. But, usually, no one goes there. There are a stone labyrinths and it is cold there. It is waving a cold from that places.

But,  strange happens. In a garden it is starts to appear slimes. And hunting plants. Which are try to trick you with standing like a casual plants, and later they attack some who walks near. And from catacombs, a portals starts to open. And some monsters starts to appear from that places. And Skeletons too.

They are appeared a strangers in black, which are walking from one town to another and they look for something. It is easy to understand, that something is going to happen with this world. Someone told that crystal of harmony was broken. Which defense this world from dangerous creatures.

First thing, you need to go to the center of the world. To climb at the most high mountain. And check crystal of world. So, it is, already, starts snowing there. It was never like this before. In this lands no one knows about, what does it mean, when it is cold.

So, this is idea for fantasy adventure. And something like a small game. So, there it will be lots of dungeons and catacombs for training. And whole labyrinths there! And lots of useful items and artifacts!

So, now I think about such games-pictures. As a small stories. Maybe like demo. So, everything is playable, but not a lot of everything. And small duration. So whole world, and garden it is and summer. Dungeons and catacombs with labyrinths. And travel to the center of the world – main theme. Check crystal. Such a small finished adventure. It is only a picture by now.

The Origins of Blackthorn Creek

Friends, romans, countrymen, users of tumblr.com: Greetings, I'm assuming either this has come up on your feed or you've seen another one of my posts and you're now curious as to what 'Blackthorn Creek' is. Either that or you don't care at all and are about to scroll past, if that's you: good for you, you know what you want and who am I to stop you?

So, who am I? What's my business here? I hear you asking, and I shall answer.

I am a (wo)man of mystery, a femininomenon, if you will. I go by many names: gay idiot, loser, dogmoteeth (for all my homies who fw dog motifs, I see you, I hear you), but for now you can call me The Creator, because 1. that's what I am, and 2. it's ominous and mysterious asf, but dogmoteeth is good too.

As for my purpose here? Well, I have ventured back to my forgotten home nation of tumblr for the first time since around 2018-19 for a reason you may have already guessed by my name. Yeah, I'm writing a book - It doesn't sound as exciting when you phrase it like that but I need to let all the girls know I'm chill like that.

My book, which for now remains 'The Untitled Blackthorn Creek Project' until I think of a bad-ass name for it, is going to be a culmination of all things whimsical and fantastical. If you love small town mysteries, magical creatures, portals, the indomitable power of friendship, religious trauma and gay people then, boy, do I have a treat for you.

My inspiration for this book was based on a lot of media I consumed growing up and has been brewing in my head since I was about 5 and discovered the magical power of escapism. Now, I've decided to finally let the world go full Gordon Ramsey on my brain soup.

Here's a brief plot summary to get your noggins hooked:

Blackthorn Creek is a small town in the American northwest, specifically Oregan. It's dominated by an evangelical church which almost all of the town subscribe to. However, a group of 8 friends (gay and straight - we don't judge ✊) begin to doubt the methodology being taught, and, together in the secret under-underground basement of the church, form a safe space for them to freely live and love without judgement.

However, when high school begins, the 8 start slowly drifting apart. But, one of them, Marion MacSweeney, is desperate to reunite the group and she does... when she disappears one night without a trace.

Set from the years 2014-2024, the book will be told through multiple perspectives: one from every member of the group and also that of blacklisted journalist/author, Kate DiCesare, who is desperate to get the inside scoop on what really went on all those years ago.

I will be posting all things 'Blackthorn Creek' such as maps, character profiles, playlist and pinterest boards here on my tumblr @dogmoteeth, and the actual book, probably released in chapters, on here and eventually on Archive of Our Own (Ao3) .
