Dropping the latest Sketch-a-Wish voted on by my lovely Patreon members, featuring Adam and Ronan in an exaggerated representation of probably the most popular quote for the pair in The Raven King by Maggie Stiefvater.

A scene where Ronan is tracing Adam's palm, while inwardly monologuing the metaphor of his feelings as an oil-spilled ocean, ready to burn at the slightest spark. I just had fun with it!

(also, is the oil-spilled ocean metaphor stemming from the fact Ronan finds Adam covered in / smelling like motor oil from his mechanic job? 🤔)

sometimes i randomly remember how insane maggie stiefvater was for making ronan lynch—a man that can create reality—a man of god, when he himself is a god of a man. then to take this man and have him be not only in love with, but a literal soulmate of a man named adam. parrish. adam parrish. who, mind you, lives above ronan's very own place of worship. and is the namesake of the first of mankind that the bible says god made from the literal dust of the ground (adam parrish: comes from nothing, hair "dusty" in color) and appoints him to care for the garden of eden (adam parrish: sacrifices himself to ronan's sentient forest). then has adam viewing ronan as a god and ronan saying "maybe he dreamt (created)" adam???? like who just fucking writes that and goes about their life?

watching mstief’s writing the raven cycle webinar and I just want everyone to know that she just explicitly stated that adam was supposed to go full villain in her first draft but changed her mind bc “the worst thing that could happen is they stop being friends”

Guys I'm back-

It has been a nightmare lately this is the only thing I managed to draw in weeks? Finals and uni stuff that's taking all of my time and energy, slowly turning me into a cafeinated slug (worst part is caffeine doesn't even have an effect on me? I only drink coffee for the TASTE can you imagine). Anyway the rush won't be over until end of January but hopefully I'll be able to ignore the stress and draw anyway :)

i think we're all too desensitized to "Adam lived in an apartment located above the office of St. Agnes Catholic Church, a fortuitous combination that focused most of the objects of Ronan's worship into one downtown block." because i'm thinking about it again and maggie was actually insane to write that

what the fuck did maggie stiefvater put in the raven cycle to make it feel the way it feels it's been years since i last read it but the experience was unparalleled

so many scenes felt like one of those dreams you try to recall the second you wake up but the details are already fading away, but the feeling of the dream is there and it has left you craving more

that's what the raven cycle feels like to me
