The Kings men, chapter three

"Neil hesitated, then set the bag on Matt's bed and struggled out of his shirt. It was getting a little easier every day, but it hurt when he raised his arms too high and when he twisted he felt the pull at his stitches. He got his shirt over his head and to his elbows before Andrew got tired of watching him struggle and tugged the shirt loose. Andrew tossed it off to one side and didn't look to see where it landed. He was more interested in the scars and bruises covering Neil's front."

This chapter holds so many great passages I might draw another one from it asp. But in this one there was something that felt very real, a mix of pain and trust and interest and discovery, and even desire maybe.

It's actually been a while since the last aftg comic! It was tkm chapter four (the fact that they reverse-follow each other was not intended) and you can find it here if you're interested.

PSU dorms, room 321 (Matt Neil and Seth's)

Let's be clear it's 4 am I just did the first drawing (collage?) under an hour. It was just to immerse you so you get my vision.

The real deal is that dorm plan I made! It's pretty accurate to how I picture it and probably rather accurate to description (i took a mix of all mentions to the place in the books to make it).

A while ago i posted this, a drawing of the foxhole court lounge, and i seemed to have helped a lot of people picture the place! So if you have aphantasia or trouble visualizing places, here is my vision - obviously everyone is free to picture it completely differently.

Hi there Neil, it's been a little while, did you miss me?

November 30th 2024 i teased an animatic and then gave zero news about it. Guess what!

As it was absolutely due, an ode to my favorite band.

I have a powerpoint and several essays about their music. Almost everything I ever create, every media I consume and care about I can link to some of their songs. I can ramble about the change in musical genre, government critic and intricate love views for hours.

My very personnal Muse tier list changes every so often but my god-tier top have stayed in place for a couple years: Plug in Baby, Sunburn, Map of the Problematique, Unintended, Falling Away with You, Madness, Undisclosed desires, Muscle Museum. They all simultaneously kill me and add years to my lifespan.

Sleepy floozies

Trojans again! They all fell asleep after the four match Jean insisted on putting or smth like that.

I'm putting the decor version as well, cause I did it entirely and wouldn't want that carpet to be left unseen (I had to do the bg fully cause i couldn't figure out the perspective with their gigantic bodies - then i got carried away). This and the papasan chair, obviously.

Had a lot of fun on this one.

Edit : I had not read tgr chapter 20 before drawing this. Now that I have, I believe those of you who also have can imagine my mental state.

Meal prep

As much as I love drawing doodles and simplified figures, I missed doing full illustrations, feels like it's been a while.

Trojans!! Can't believe I hadn't drawn them fully yet... So, here's my take for the four of them, I guess.

For those who wondered - yes I've read tsc and tgr, obviously (i've been following both of the releases like a famished animal ready to pounce). I love these guys' dynamic and domesticity so much. I wanna be their friend.

Came back from a few exhausting weeks so I'm treating myself with trc doodles.

This is in the continuity of this post where i said i could make hundreds of those - and honestly i'm not kidding ; it's very therapeutic to make somehow.

The annual redraw, 2025 - versus 2023 and 2022

(Yeah I slacked off in 2024.)

So this is Karl Jacobs (lmao). I never was in any minecraft fandom but in 2022 my best friend introduced me to dsmp and i drew the first karl out of test, and now i'm doomed to draw that over and over.

I like how my colors went from kinda-saturated-because-idk-how-to-color, to not-saturated-at-all-cause-its-easier, to saturated-but-with-more-color-theory-this-time. Also the anatomy (we won't talk about that poor 2022 guy's elbows) and the 3D, a lot better than before. Still far from perfect, but there's an improvement. We'll see how it goes next year.

↑ I put this verse but they all work, somehow (i wanted to do an even longer drawing at the beginning, sheesh).

Linking music with content is my absolute favorite thing to do. I did it with aftg, and also for trc with this post (muse!!) and obviously the animatic, which happens to have turned 1 year old very recently (happy birthday).

Anyway, I'll do a trc reread soon, last time was two years ago (!!), i've read extracts since but it won't do for much longer.

I realize I haven't posted any SF drawing here yet, so here's the remedy for that-

I don't actively ship them btw. But I do think they have a close and very domestic bond. I like the idea of shared comfort between these two.

Okay i'm literally shaking posting this, i've been working on it for days i lost all objectivity about it.

Someone requested this scene when I asked for recommendations on an older post, so this is tkm chapter four:

"Andrew sprawled on the couch in the lounge while Kevin went ahead to change out. Neil hesitated, changed his mind and started after Kevin, and changed his mind again. He stood behind the couch, folding his arms across the back of it, and peered down at Andrew. Andrew had one arm folded under his head and the other draped over his eyes to block the light. 'One of these days you might as well practice with us,' Neil said."

This scene is so long I had to cut some parts (including the incredible "You let us run ourselves into the ground and clean up behind us. You play the game like you play life. That's why you're so good at it.").

Not to mention Andrew's height fear, one of my all-time favorite aftg quotes ("When you said you were afraid of heights, you were joking, right?" "Andrew, you can't be. What were you doing on the roof?" "Feeling." -tkm ch.5).

Update: I cut the (too long) comic into smaller images so that you can open it and have a better quality, hope it works!
