laila brushes his hair when he’s stressed, so when she’s broken and needs comfort, jean takes the knots in her hair and braids it

jeremy hugged him when he was losing his ground, so i am sure that jean will do the same for him when jeremy crashes out in front of him

I know Jean now calls the Trojans his friends (oof my heart) & Jeremy’s his official partner but Cat 100% is, if not already on her way to becoming, Jean’s best friend the way Laila is to Jeremy.

(Which Cat wants to call Min & Xavier “wonderfully tacky” for matching outfits, what would you call having matching best friends??)

But looking at all the little things that add up gets me in the heart.

Jean’s admitted he enjoys cooking and how it helps everything “go away” for a while—something that Cat was the one to introduce him to in the first place. Cat teaches him how to ride a motorcycle, which ends up becoming another calming experience/happy place for him.

Cat had “some drama her freshman year.” And she used “tramp” and “whore” to define “floozy” which came from said drama. Which gives me the insanely strong suspicion that Cat’s “drama” was very similar to the rumors calling Jean a “whore”

Cat getting Jean a replacement chain for Renee’s cross. Cat determined to ensure that Jean wasn’t afraid of her or Cody after the restaurant incident. Jean keeping the sand dollar Cat gave him along with his fireworks wristband and Renee’s photo.

Cat jumping in to be a human shield between Jean and his mark during the Bobcats game and Jean immediately trying to pull her out of danger instead.

Misplaced forever partner Neil. Partner and captain Jeremy. But Cat and Jean have their own special red thread and I’m so so soft about it

I'm at a tavern right now and they're playing basketball on one of the tvs. Every once in a while the players will pop up with their stats and stuff.

Now I'm thinking about what the foxes (and Trojans) intros would be.

Matt:

does the boxer pose because no one told him that it's different for other sports

Dan:

straight faced

lifts her racket over her shoulder

Allison:

Is actually just modeling

Later uses it to market her own fashion lines as she prepares to graduate

Renee:

The camera people try and tell him to do poses or move or look at other cameras and he just doesn't

i have two theories:

1) jeremy isn’t inherently bad at cooking, but he often a) dissociates and b) gets distracted by his phone, resulting in c) mistakes he wouldn’t make otherwise, like over-dicing a pepper, or as other people have theorized, microwaving metal. and i too wouldn’t trust a sleep-deprived jeremy with a giant kitchen knife, for his own safety.

probs doesn’t help that he wouldn’t have had any prior experience in a kitchen, so i doubt he even knows how to make something outside of box mac and cheese (and he would be the one to get a building evacuated because he forgot to add water)

2) cat and laila have noticed jeremy’s pathological need to be helpful, and they refuse to give into that. they just want their friend and captain to rest.

(personally i think it’s a combo of 1 & 2)

Jeremy being exiled from the kitchen is my new favourite thing and I want to know how bad his cooking is?

@inadvisablebutinevitable same, Cat was a fast favorite that kept getting better, (motorcycle) but Laila's depth keeps going. I can't wait to get to know her better in TSC3

Why is no one talking about the fact that the love of my life, Laila Dermott, has a access to a private jet and that her dad's a FSO who has a friend in every acronym. FBI, CIA, DHS. etc.

About what happened in high school to make her stop trusting cops. About why her neighbours gave her a hard time. About why she has gear to barricade her door. About why she caught on to Jean's trauma so fucking fast.

About how she still has a hard time opening up to Cat about her pain. About how she and Jeremy are a package deal.

About how devastating it was for her to lose her home, her safe point after never having something solid to call home for so long.

How the Ravens destroyed something she didn't know how to lose.
