the most unbelievable thing about blue exorcist to me is that rin didnt know about shiemi's existence at all. Like not at all?? I get yukio being able to lie and lead a double life but he never mentioned his childhood friend that he tutors like once a week? He was never in a situation where he was like 'oh i heard this from shiemi' not even a slip up??? Not even once??????? I feel like when rin met shiemi he shoulda known OF her at least.

I know this isn’t a particularly common characterization of them (at least not what I’ve seen) but I personally think of the two;

Shanks rarely gets restless, he’s the one more content to just bask in a moment, it may not be in silence but he’s comfortable just doing nothing with his crew. As long as there’s alcohol, a hammock and the people he loves, Shanks is straight.

Contrary to that Mihawk is always itching to do something, entertain himself in some way. If he’s not dueling/training, he’s gardening if it’s not that then he’s cooking or he’s reading and if nothing else will do then he naps. but he’s always trying to occupy his time with something.

I think a lot of people don’t notice it because it’s not the jittery hyperactivity that people associate with it. But Mihawk is restless, endlessly so. He’s in a never ending fight with his boredom but it’s all internal.(except when he decides to make it someone else’s problem ala Don Krieg)

Mihawk’s the type of dude to implode instead of explode so it makes sense that things like restlessness don’t really show themselves in an outwardly physical way. Instead it’s more of an internal pressure and incessant need to stave off boredom. But because of his preference for being alone and the fact that the activities he chooses aren’t ones usually associated with restlessness. It goes unnoticed.

Except by Shanks who’s always going out of his way to make the life of a pretty little birdie a litte more interesting.

This manufactured outrage over Biden pardoning his son is pure gaslighting. First off. If it wasn’t for the extremely lax gun laws Republicans have, with more passion than anything, protected, it wouldn’t just be a box on a form asking questions. It would be more extensive background checks. Republicans would say, ‘you do get a background check when you purchase a firearm!’. To them I would say, ‘if you have to show id multiple times to vote, maybe multiple background checks for a firearm should undergo the same scrutiny.’

How many hours, how much wasted money, effort and taxpayer resources did James Comer spend trying to find dirt on Biden, he never could. Trump was impeached, the first time, for trying to find dirt on the Bidens. None ever came up. Except that his surviving son had substance abuse problems. To which now he has cleaned up and is sober. That’s hard to do, to judge him for purchasing a firearm, that was revealed in a book Hunter wrote, and with the lack of integrity, and the cruelty of Republicans, they went after Hunter thinking, ‘he may have been under the influence when he purchased this weapon that was never used in a crime. We got him!!’ Absolutely pathetic! A sick display of a lack of moral fortitude.

The dirty tricks, the hypocrisy, the lying, the projection and gaslighting from the once “Grand Old Party” is a display of the absence of any ethical boundaries. The cheating, the corruption, the dirty tricks. We see you. Your day will come. 🇺🇸

The thing about show!armand is that his great evil* wasn't about him obsessively doing anything he possibly could to keep Louis it was looking at Louis and thinking "maybe if you don't actually care very much about me I shouldn't burn my whole life down over you and your treasonous daughter I'm annoyed with." It didn't have to be any more vindictive than that. His baseline state is monstrous; he kills people in elaborate little plays every night for enrichment and group bonding. I definitely think he put a couple little extra vicious twists in there for the love spurned but really at the end of the day the worst of what he does to Claudia and Louis is withdrawing his protection and treating them like any other victims.

For me, this telling moment in his Meet the Press interview yesterday (for in my current world, it already is the morning after) reveals the very essence of Trump. He can't help himself being that scorpion from his favorite poem. He is a stupid and incurious man, and his worldview is largely that of a child -- but one thing he, as a creature of television himself, understands extremely well is the power of visual images; and he knows his deportation policies will produce ugly, heartbreaking images that will turn the public against him. But he cannot help himself. Vileness, cruelty, borne out of his eternal resentment against the world that he believes has forever wronged him by not fully appreciating his unique woundable greatness, is the dominant characteristic of his nature. He’s going to separate families and deport American-born children regardless. No one is telling him he must do it. No one is whispering in his ear. It's him, it's who he is, it's how he has lived his shameful life. He is a human scorpion -- a demented one, at this point, but a scorpion nonetheless. The most dangerous man in the world. Or, to put it a little less metaphorically, a fascist.
