#my imposter syndrome and anxiety are rearing their ugly heads #i'm so worried about the interview tomorrow and i haven't even fucking done it yet #and i know that most of this is coming from being constantly rejected for the past several months from so many jobs #so like #my brain is automatically setting up my emotions/myself for failure #which is NOT helpful at all #i have no idea how this interview is going to go #it could go really well #or it could not #who knows #but me already psyching myself out about isn't helping #it also doesn't help that i still have no idea why they decided to go ahead and interview me when all of my “experience” and my degrees #are for death scene investigation not DNA (save for my undergrad degree)#being in a lab has never been for me #and i think there's a bit of stubbornness in me #that anytime i see a lab job i automatically say “no”#because i want to be in the field #so i don't know #i'm in my head and i'm psyching myself for no damn reason #love it/s

you kiss the back of toji's hand one day very casually before intertwining your fingers with his and the man just kind of shuts down . bc what the hell did you just do????? kissed his hand?? you kissed his hand????? that's.. what?????? isn't he supposed to be kissing yours?????? and the fact that you're now just acting like nothing happened has him staring at you with widened eyes and slightly furrowed brows. you turn back to check on him because you realize that he's not following you anymore and just laugh lightheartedly when you see the faint blush on his cheeks and his burning ears. brining his hand to your mouth again, you press another kiss to his knuckles with a teasing smile glued to your lips and that makes him snap out of his daze. he tries to brush you off with a quiet click of his tongue but you know he liked it. you know he loved it.

I’m sure that someone has pointed this out already, but Spock’s “nobody’s perfect” in response to Saavik pointing out that Jim is “so human” mirrors the ending of Some Like it Hot where Osgood says “nobody’s perfect” to Jerry admitting he’s a man.

In Some Like it Hot, the “nobody’s perfect” line is basically Osgood admitting that he doesn’t care about Daphne/Jerry’s gender—he still loves and wants to marry him anyway. So, by the same logic, TWok’s “nobody’s perfect” line is Spock saying how he doesn’t care about Jim’s species: he loves him regardless.
